I wish Spike Chunsoft would just go full "Persona" with Danganronpa and milk it with tons of spinoffs.

I'd be there for every goddamn one of them on DAY ONE, you know. Pick your genre! The minute they figured out how to make a decent third-person DR action game with Ultra Despair Girls, that should've opened the floodgates wide IMO. In fact, if you take any given Persona spinoff, I can tell you how easily/naturally they could develop (and I could get super-hyped for) a Danganronpa equivalent.

Danganronpa Arena is SO obvious. It's the MOST obvious spinoff, and it has been sitting there waiting to be creating for seven goddamn years now. Ever since Kodaka said he wants a DR fighting game. Hey, remember that official DR3 Staff Book art that showed Nanami dreaming about it? Many of us have shared fan ideas for the story and/or for character moves. COME ON, y'all. What's the holdup?? DO IT! DO IT NOW!

Danganronpa: Dancing? FUCK YAS. I mean, there's already some wicked dance remixes of the game soundtracks in that Crypt of the Necrodancer DR content, so why the hell not?? And I recall that @dreamrlu did some great fanart (1) for how the (2) V3 crew could dress (3).

Danganronpa Q, a dungeon crawler? Despair Dungeon already exists, so it's COMPLETELY NATURAL. It's just a higher-quality production of that same concept! And if you haven't seen that fanmade version of the first "Persona Q" opening where it's the casts of DR1 and DR2 meeting up? It's AMAZING.

Danganronpa Tactica? Imagine leading squads from the Future Foundation (including DR1 and DR3 cast members) in missions against remaining Remnants of Despair. I've been playing a lot of tactical RPGs lately, and there's a lot of room to tell a ton of story in this format... plus it's not like you even have to make complex graphics to make it work, so SC doesn't have to worry about struggling with 3D renders if they don't want to. Just consider how Digimon Survive pulled this off with 2D sprite art!

Danganronpa Strikers is, uh, maybe the hardest to justify — but if you set it in the virtual world, that could make it easy! Since Danganronpa S already took place entirely in VR and contained a load of combat encounters, why the hell not do a similar setup for an action game? And if you prefer to keep in the real world, there are still a number of characters I could easily justify making playable in such a scenario — Genocide(r), Sakura, Asahina, Mondo, Nekomaru, Peko, Akane, Great Gozu, Seiko, Munakata, Maki, Gonta, etc. I can even picture some more-unlikely candidates such as Kimura slotting into the roster. I don't even like musou games that much, but ofc I'd play the SHIT out of this one.

Look: I know I'm an insatiable fan who just wants more precious content with these characters. But you can't convince me that these things wouldn't also SELL. The brand reached new heights of awareness and sales with V3, and they haven't really capitalized on that at all aside from giving us "Danganronpa S." We haven't even gotten a new anime since DR3, FFS! And I'm confident that any one of the ideas listed above would sell far better than a weird digital board game with RPG combat set inside VR, frankly. :P

On a different note, Alibaba is lonely as fuck, and we don't really acknowledge that often enough. Like, at some point in the past I was talking with Yudja about it, like, you guys recall that quote "the loneliest people are the kindest, the saddet people smile the brightest, the most damaged people are the wisest"? I've seen like two of these with the trio, and in both it was in order: Aladdin, Morgiana and Alibaba. And I was talking about it with Yudja, and I do agree that Alibaba actually fits "the loneliest" more than Aladdin. Like, don't get me wrong, Aladdin is pretty lonely in his own ways, too, but throughout the story being wise was more Aladdin's thing, and being kind was more Alibaba's. People don't remember Alibaba for his smarts. They remember him for being kind in a very cruel world. But back to the loneliness, Alibaba is lonely in which he belongs to so many places a bit, but nowhere completely. Of too noble blood to be a slum brat (that he always perceives himself as, but the slums won't take him), but too much of a slum brat to be really a noble (and people look down on him, and he knows), lying about himself, being betrayed over and over again by the people he loves (that he still forgives in the end). But I do think there's also the aspect of Alibaba not always being lonely. Before his mother's death at least. And I do think that's a big difference in the whole loneliness thing for them both - Alibaba remembers not being lonely, which makes him feel that loneliness all the harder than for Aladdin who had no frame of reference. Bonus: remember who took the Zagan Team splitting up the hardest? Yeah.

And with that I have finished Judgment. Wow. Honestly that entire finale segment was insane.

Like finally cornering Ichinose in the court segment was so goddamn satisfying, especially his face when Hamura walked in, and then Yagami leaving it to Hoshino was so good! I don't think I mentioned it on here but I really, really love Hoshino, he's precious and I loved his arc.

But then chasing down and fighting Kuroiwa at the ADDC... Holy shit, that was intense, the dude was terrifying. Like, I got so used to seeing him as calm, composed and a perfectionist, but then in this he's just full-blown unhinged, yet still so deadly professional in the way he got through everyone in his way. And goddamn, his boss music is so good, I'm gonna need to find it later because I was too preoccupied fighting him.

And then Shono... Ngl, Shono is one of the most intriguing antagonists I've ever seen, mostly because of the way he's handled. Like, Ichinose and Kuroiwa were treated as the big bads of the story while Shono almost felt like a side character, and yet this wimpy scientist with good intentions was right in the middle of all this insanity, none of this would have happened if he didn't start it. And the fact that he was so desperate to believe he was right to the point he was practically deluding himself... Honestly makes him terrifying to me, I don't know how to describe it but it freaked me out.

Not to mention, the one thing I couldn't figure out was why the victims' eyes were removed, I just figured it was something Kuroiwa did to make it look like the work of a serial killer and throw off suspicions of human experimentation. But right at the end there with the example, it all made so much sense.

Also, I looked at the cast as they were scrolling through the credits, seriously?! Mark Whitten voiced Sugiura?! I thought the voice sounded familiar but I'm so used to his Seteth kinda voice that it didn't even occur to me that it could be him, he did amazing! And I mentioned that Kim's voice sounded familiar but I couldn't remember the guy's name, so I asked my mum about a role of his and she reminded me, turns out I was right! Kim was voiced by James Hong! I never expected him to be cast in a game like this, especially as such a minor, and honestly annoying, role!

But yeah, I really, really enjoyed this game, the pacing was a little weird at time, especially with the way it would randomly force you into side cases in the middle of the main story, but I still had a lot of fun. I wanna check out the sequel, just have to see if I can get ahold of a copy.

That's Seungkwan. But if you really get to know him, he's so much more. He's observant, sensitive and filled with so much love. He's a good member, he's a good friend, son, brother and on top of that; he's an amazing idol. A role model. Who worked hard for his team even before their debut. Who still, after having tasted so much success, is working hard to give it his all.

Seungkwan makes me believe that people care. I realise everytime he talks that he genuinely cares. It's not just him saying that we should take care and eat well but he really hopes we do. I really hope you do too, Kwannie. I hope you laugh a hundred times more than you've made me laugh. I wish all of the stars align in your favour and that you live a long and healthy life.

Thank you for working so hard for Seventeen. Thank you for being who you are. Because everytime that I cry now, I don't think it's weak, rather I think it's strong and it only makes me human. I'm feeling a little better tonight, thank you! I took yesterday and today off and wound up just spending 99% of it sleeping it off so much for my fanfic catchup list cause damn, that shit hits like a freight train. But we're coming around it now!

And oh my god, listen - I've wanted to see this since I saw the first trailer ages ago. I trust Jordan Peele to make a good movie out of the gate at this point, I'll see his movies without knowing a goddamn thing about them. AND IT PAID OFF, I LOVED THIS MOVIE SO MUCH. I'm going to try and do this without too many spoilers so people can see it.

For anyone reading: if you havent' seen this movie yet, go watch the trailer and then consider seeing it! It's an amazing scifi/horror film!

Like first off, on cinematography alone, this movie is stunning. The shots blew my mind (OJ opening the truck and looking up, the blood rain, Ghost charging across the pasture, the entire horse chase scene), and as someone who grew up in Los Angeles, I also can't easily recall anyone who's so wonderfully captured the dry, barren sort of beauty of the scrub/deserts in the area. It's the perfect place for a freaky scifi horror movie like this because it allows these huge, massive, open, terrifying shots that you can't get with a bunch of trees and buildings in the way. It's a reminder that there is nothing to stop you from falling up into the sky (which you know is relevant in this film).

Second off, something I found hysterical is the number of times your chain gets yanked in this movie. These moments where you're sure you absolutely know what's going to happen because this is what you've been taught by the genre to expect and he just rips the rug out from under your feet. It's a move only someone who loves this sort of film can do because they KNOW you know what should happen and so they're able to play on your expectations before throwing in a twist.

Third: THE HUMOR IN THIS GODDAMN MOVIE OH MY GOD. I did not expect to laugh as much as I did, but holy shit. Angel's a gem, and then the genre aware moments, moments when weird shit is going down where you'd absolutely want to go 'fuck this, not doing this, nope.' Even the HORSES do it. And of course OJ calmly closing that truck door after looking up is one of my favorite moments. I love Daniel Kaluuya to death and back for his expression because this will become a gif staple for me whenever I see a large bug outside.

THE CHARACTERS. I loved our main cast, even if Holst was a dick. OJ was a fucking badass (AND ON HORSEBACK NO LESS), Em was 10 kinds of amazing (and gets an AKIRA MOTORCYCLE SLIDE OH MY GOD), Angel is a precious dumbass bless his heart. Jupe was also a dumbass but like... Jesus it's kinda hard not to understand considering how fucked up he was by what happened to him (also that scene - not the first one, but you know... *waves up* that scene is going to haunt me for a LONG time). BUT I AM STILL MAD AT HIM FOR THE HORSES, FUCK YOU FOR THAT JUPE.

And FINALLY. The message. I love the message of spectacle, exploitation, and how it destroys, and I love how that carries into every part of this movie - OJ and Em's grandcestor, exploited as a black jockey, so much so that people don't remember his name despite him being IN THE FIRST MOVIE EVER. Their chase for fame/fortune is even the most understandable since they're also just trying to survive in a cutthroat business - Hollywood - that is all about exploitation. And an additional level of exploitation - despite Haywood's horses being used in western films, westerns are incredibly whitewashed and lack the true diversity the profession had. Meanwhile, Holt is chasing after the perfect film shot, exploiting the moment, even when it makes no sense. Jupe is over here thinking he can exploit and control the uncontrollable - even after being traumatized by exploitation that leads to literal death (for god's sake, STOP DOING STUPID SHIT WITH WILD ANIMALS). The TMZ reporter - HOLY SHIT the kings of exploitation, being more worried about his CAMERA.

And the beauty of it all - how do we save ourselves? Stop looking. Aka: the one thing humans just can't seem to do whenever there's some train wreck going on, even when it'll get us killed.

Anyway, that's *waves* my review of Nope, I've seen it once and now I'm really desperate for a rewatch and am eagerly awaiting it being available to buy so I can keep it on my metaphorical shelf! I have some things I want to look for in the second go round cause it's definitely a Watch More Than Once movie with all the clues and little things Peele slips in and I know I missed things. But it's now in my top 10 for both scifi and horror. FIVE STARS ANGEL. FIVE STARS.

I've never actually seen the episode (I don't like cop shows) but I've seen a couple of clips of his performance and, just like every other role I've ever seen him take on, he really went for it! It was awkward and hard to watch, but not because he wasn't great, but because his character was an awkward teenage psychopath lol.

I'm glad he didn't get a lot of teen roles, though. Like, he did the awkward, gawky teenage boy thing well here and in The Architect...

...which was painful to watch, honestly. He did well; my boy always gets props from me on his acting, regardless of the quality of the movie or show around him, but... damn, this one was bad 😂 Literally the only thing that really stuck with me (and not in a good way) was the extremely uncomfortable rooftop sex scene. blargh. This movie makes me want to wrap my arms around Jack and TJ and hug them both as tight as humanly possible.

And then, of course, there is the last teenager Sebastian ever played, the first thing I ever saw him in, and a terrible movie that is near and dear to my heart:

The Covenant. Oh, lord, this movie. Chase Collins, I love you deeply and forever and without the slightest hint of irony, my babe. I love this movie... but it's not good. 😂 The Covenant is a shitty, poorly-executed, overly campy B-movie that somehow didn't know it was a B-movie. How? How do you have lines like "How about I make you my wee-atch" or your villain threateningly growling a line about Little Miss Muffat and not know how terrible this movie is? But in true "pls don't fire me, I'm poor" baby-Seb fashion, he went all-in and delivered even his worst lines with a delightful level of sass that made them almost bearable. (nothing can save that LMM line lmao especially not with the faces he made omfg 😂😂😂 Jesus I'm so glad this was my first impression of him hahaha this movie was the closest he ever got to bad acting in his entire goddamn career and I still loved it completely)

That's it. As far as I know, those are the only 3 times Sebastian Stan ever played a teenager, and I am so glad. He's too good to be stuck in "teen heartthrob" Hell. Don't get me wrong, I love teen shows/movies. I actually watched the first 4 seasons (and a couple of episodes of season 5) of Riverdale and liked most of it. I'm not super picky. But I don't want to imagine a world where Sebastian just smirks and pouts his way through campy YA trash until he's 35 and suddenly playing the dads instead of the teens.

All right I have to confess something. I've skipped every transcript of Put Your Sticks Up because I was impatient and wanted to get to the story. Now you know my biggest secret, I always felt bad but would get frustrated cause I wanted to hear ‘bout my boys.

The last precious worm ask! I am finally on my laptop so I can give this the proper attention.

Ngl, when my head isn't working, I will just put on one song and play it over and over and over and over and over until something comes into my head. My ShinOji fic 'Gold Rush' came from that. Still not sure how I managed to make a somewhat decent fic out of a song about gentrification but my mind is a wild and wonderful place.

Yeah, Shouji goes through it with his family. One thing that I can say though is that as Shouji starts to get more and more successful with his art, Tokoyami starts to spitefully send articles and reviews written on his work to his parent's house. He never gets a response but doesn't expect to, he just feels like they should see how amazing their son is, goddamnit. The one day, a letter comes back. Tokoyami opens it, expecting it to be them telling him to knock it off and instead, one of the pictures has been sent back with 'This is beautiful' written in pen, an arrow pointing to one of his vases. Tokoyami then has to show it to Shouji and explain what he did. Shouji cries basically all night. That starts a very, very tenuous back and forth with his mom.

Gonna put the rest of this under a break because it's gonna be long

You should have seen my first outline if you thought this was quick with them figuring it out. Basically, the only reason that Tokoyami broke it off in the first place was because he didn't see that there was a chance of it working. They worked so well otherwise. Amazing chemistry, complimentary senses of humor, Tokoyami didn't want to break it off at all. He just felt like he had to because otherwise they were both going to get more hurt. Mic as a bad cook is deeply satisfying, I picture him being like me, just all 'okay but I just do enough to make something to survive on and uh.... who needs all the details and stuff'.

The name change actually came from my beta. They asked why his contact was still Western Civ Tutor in the beginning of the chapter and I was like 'oooo, great way to show how they have changed'.

And maaaaaaaaaan. I'm sorry but how is someone who is a bird gonna like a cat. Nah. Tokoyami is a dog person. They do go on to get a dog. They were going to get a Shiba Inu or something catlike until Kenta came through with a hound puppy that he'd found in the rain while on his route and just dumps it in Shouji's lap like 'Surprise!'. They name it Lu after Roberto Luongo, famed goalie. The dog is a goddamned menace and Shouji ends up having to take it to classes and learn about dog training so they can all keep their sanity. He ends up loving Lu the most. (I do some part time dog training so I had to throw that in)

Tokoyami dyes his hair. He's actually a mousy blond under the dye like his mama. And yeah, my parents are hella supportive too. I figured it would be healthy for one of them to have accepting parents.

Aizawa was pretty pissed, ngl. For all that he should know better, he got caught up in the same shit that coaches tend to slip into, which is a responsibility because they have someone with potential that they must mold and then when they go on to do amazing things, they can feel a part of it. But then he realizes where he fucked up and how he was so busy seeing Shouji the hockey player that he couldn't see Shouji the person.

Listen, it's my fanfic, so I'm gonna get as cheesy as I damn well please. I'd written a super cheesy ending for the end of 'Black Sun' and was waffling on keeping it until somebody was like 'it's a fic, be as cheesy as you want'. I can has my cheese, as a treat.

And again, I cannot stress enough how wonderful that is! And how rare and precious in a show like this. So often character's get put through unimaginable trauma, but they either brush it off no problem or the show/movie ends immediately after the main action and you are left to imagine the number it did on the character's psyche. There are so rarely fantasy shows that really dive into the emotional fallout the plot has on their characters and then give them time to heal. Thus show does both and I'm so goddamn overjoyed my it!

Come to think of it, it reminds me of a very good hurt/comfort fic 🤷‍♀️

Jiang Cheng pleae, fir once, try not to be angry immediately when you're hurting :(

He still takes special offence that lwj is there. Makes me wonder if he still feels like wwx chooses lwj over the Jiang sect and is still hurt by it 😔 (note that at the same time, he reminds wwx that he's very much not a member of the Jiang clan anymore. For once, as much as I love it when lwj defends wwx (especially when it's not against any physical harm, but because he doesn't want wwx to be hurt emotionally) I think him interfering with this particular conflict does not help

From Jiang Cheng's angry desperation, to Wei Wuxian's quite acceptance of his rage (which must be so confusing to Jiang Cheng and probably hurt him even more. Because fighting is always how these two resolved their issues!) to Lan Wangji who is in full on protective mode (which I find more than heartwarming,but still think probably isn't helpful rn)

Huh, this episode was a roller coaster. you guys did NOT exaggerate! I loved it to pieces. I'm floored once more by all the actor's performances. Wen Ning revealed a lot about his character, Jiang Cheng broke my heart, Lan Wangji made it melt and Shijie is still able to make me bawl in an instant. But ... I'm not left with a bitter feeling. Sure, jiang Cheng and wei Wuxian havebt reconciled, but the truth is the first step to even have that possibility. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are both healing and whatever happens in the last 4 (4!!!😭) episodes, I'm not dreading it that much right now. I feel like we're climbing upwards :)
