just saw someone say they can’t believe Ichigo didn’t try for a girl after Kazui, and like… damn… they’re SON right. he was destined to be a girl dad, and Kubo gives him a son??? I have nothing against Kazui, don’t get me wrong, he’s a cute kid and all, BUT.

Two years later and DuckTales 2017 finale gives conflicting emotions. But it is interesting. It simultaneously uplifts and takes away from the found family trope. It is all about choosing to love people and accepting them as family. However, when you watch how Scrooge accepts people into his family compared to how he accepts a “daughter” when he already has several kids really shows that writers missed on the delivery and potential implications.

Because yeah he accepts Webby as his daughter instantly but in that same note he also shows there’s difference between being his niece/nephew and being his child. He imitates Donald, an actual parent, and smothers a child who has been quite literally trained to kill. He’s never exhibited such protectiveness to anyone or any of the children he’s had, including Donald and Della.

The show defined what constitutes a parent from an uncle or an aunt. While Scrooge saw HDL, Donald, and Della as his kids, he wasn’t their parent. They weren’t his responsibility. You’d ask, what about Donald and Della? Where are their parents? Alive. The artbook confirmed Hortense and Quackmore are living on Grandma’s farm, and they travel a lot. Scrooge could go on dangerous trips with children and not feel a sense of dread or overwhelming concern for these children because ultimately they weren’t his kids in the same way Webby is.

I don’t think that was the intent when writing the scene, but that’s the implication. It’s like what? Found family is still present with Webby and Beakley. Beakley chose to love Webby, and Webby loves Beakley. They choose to love each other. They chose their family. That’s good.

However, it doesn’t have the same character significance as it would have with Scrooge. Of the characters, Scrooge really needed to learn that lesson. He’s egotistical. He’s self-absorbed. He believes the hype of his own character because he lives the hype. 

Beakley has always been a more grounded character who’s remained consistent in her common sense. She didn’t need to learn the importance of non-biological family. She already knew it. She has no ties to her family name or issues concerning being the last of her clan. Scrooge did. In the comics, him choosing to pursue wealth and fortune definitely comes up as a reason why he doesn’t have children (Goldie).

Webby being his daughter (or preferably granddaughter, come on writers) isn’t an inherently bad idea. But for the length of show and its execution, it wasn’t the best way to conclude the story. There wasn’t significant buildup for the plot reveal or any concern for how this would change the family dynamics. Let alone the fact Webby had zero interest in knowing more about her family. If there were four seasons, they should’ve kept it in and dealt with all the consequences that came with this discovery.

So I replayed/watched the most recent chapter of Getaway Girls just to see what would happen if MC decided to ditch “respect” and be real about her feelings. And lemme just say that if MC’s dad wasn’t dead to me before, he def is now. Idc that them making amends is canon.

Like I get that the writers were trying to incorporate the whole “respect your elders even if they don’t respect you” thing that’s so prevalent in the Black community, but they could’ve done that and still given us a choice about whether to forgive or cut MC’s parents off. I honestly think the story would’ve been better off if they did. And I say this as someone who’s usually about forgiveness when it comes to family. But the way MC’s dad reacted to his flesh and blood telling him how hurt she was because of what he did, him doing it in the first place, and the mom just now chiming in only to tell MC to watch her mouth as if she didn’t know about the dad being buddy buddy with the person who cheated on MC…. those aren’t little things. And me personally, I just feel like your parents shouldn’t be dogging you like strangers out in the street and unfaithful ass S.O.s would 👐🏾

Boothill was home fashionably late tonight. He never specified why though, leaving you to your thoughts on his ranch. 

You both agreed to buy a farm together, considering he grew up around horses and cattle. His fathers taught him how to tend to the animals, taught him creativity, and overall gave him a fine life. 

You both had talked about having some children of your own, but that thought hadn’t become a reality due to your busy schedules. That was, though, until he walked through the door of your shared home, cradling a baby in his arms.

She was a pretty little thing- with pale blue eyes and white hair poking through her scalp. She seemed to be a newborn, with how tiny she was. 

“Look what I found, just sitting in the grass,” he said in a slight whisper, not wanting to startle the baby. “She’s pretty, ain't she?” 

Your eyes widen slightly as you sit up from your place on your shared bed. You take a sharp inhale before motioning for Boothill to hand you the baby. He carefully rests her in your arms, sitting down on your side of the bed as you hold the fragile being in your grasp. You coo to her as Boothill watches you with adoration.

“She’s gorgeous,” you smile, looking down at the girl who was happily clapping in your arms. “Do we know her parents? I’d hate to just take someone's child…”

“No parent was in sight. I also highly doubt someone would jus’ leave their kid in the middle of nowhere,” he said, patting the girl on the head. “If I find a parent, we’ll give her to em’.” 

You nod in agreement, allowing the baby to grab onto your pointer finger. She seemed so happy, you almost didn’t want to let her go. 

You both soon took her into your bathroom, running a lukewarm bath in your sink and putting the lightest type of soap you could find into the water. You wanted to give her a little bath, considering he found her outside, and you didn’t know what she’d have on her. You also didn’t know how long she’s been outside. 

You unwrapped her from the makeshift blanket Boothill tore from his shirt and set her down slowly into the water. She didn’t seem to fuss, so you proceeded to wash her body. Boothill stood behind you, his arms wrapped around your waist, looking at something on his phone. You finished cleaning the tiny girl before wrapping her in a soft, warm towel. 

“Babe, where are we going to find clothes for this poor thing? She’s probably freezing!” You stress, crossing your arms and sighing as you watch the little girl squirm in the towels hold. 

“I’ll head out tomorrow morning and get some necessities. ‘Was thinkin’ about those things too, like how she’s gonna eat and all that.”

“Ugh, that’s another thing to worry about,” you turn around, facing him. “Babies her age don’t eat, and I can’t produce milk.”

At this point, it was late in the night. Who knows what time, all you know is that you should be asleep. But instead, you’re up caring for a little girl who wasn’t even yours.

“Is she just going to sleep with us tonight?” He asked, getting ready for bed.

“I mean, where else would we put her? We don’t have a crib!” You lightly picked her up, placing her on your lap as you rocked her to sleep.

i have such a thing for age gaps...i blame society. also, i’m only including ghost, price, and alejandro because the other men are too young imo. ik some of their ages are debatable, so in my mind, ghost is at least 30.

Ghost

♡ honestly, i don't think my guy really gives a shit if there is an age difference between you two. like his morals are all skewed, and the last thing he'd waste time worrying about would be a *legal* age gap.

♡ being younger than him would just make his nicknames for you that much more adorable. he likes to add the words 'little' and 'tiny' in front of a lot of the things he calls you. "little mouse" "little dove" "tiny girl/boy"

♡ regardless of how much experience you have (with relationships, sex, etc) he will always act like he knows more than you. he can find himself treating you like you’re so innocent and new to everything--even if you do the same line of work as him, i.e. killing people. and it can definitely annoy you.

♡ it doesn’t matter how many people you’ve been with or how many people you’ve killed; no matter what, he knows more than you. and honestly, even tho it can annoy you sometimes, him being so dominant is just super hot.

I didn’t mean—“ He cut you off, clearly agitated for a different reason than you being smart with him. “is that how you view me, doll? like a father?” if you said yes, price would know he needed to back off. he could take a hint. “No… I… You just wouldn’t get off my back. I was just trying to be funny.” You felt so embarrassed as you explained yourself. Price got into your space and grabbed your chin in his hand, titling your head up to look at him. you gulped. “you wanna call me endearments? go ahead. but don’t ever call me that again.” he looked at you a moment longer before turning away. suddenly fueled with adrenaline, you called after him. “what about daddy?” Price spun around quicker than you could register before he was pushing you backward, his hand tight in your hair as he yanked your head back to look up at him again with a gasp. “fuckin’ brat,” he muttered, a sly smile crossing his lips.

♡ as much as price truly does not care about your sexual history, he’d be lying if he said it didn’t turn him on a bit knowing how much more innocent you were than him. you could have slept with a bunch of people for all he cared, but knowing you were that much younger than him, he knew he had more experience than you regardless. and something about that sparked a flame in his chest. he had a thing for wanting to show you the ropes.. but he definitely felt guilty about thinking that way. he wouldn’t have been any less attracted to you knowing you slept with a hundred other people. he knew you being “innocent” shouldn’t turn him on. but it did…
