Gnawing at the bars of my cage wondering what personal hatred Olivier is referring to here.

Does he mean hatred is "the reason he's standing here now" as in it's the reason he's reached his current point in life? The reason he's stayed with the chasseurs and become a paladin? Or does he mean "the reason he's standing here now" as in the reason he's still alive?

He brings up his own relationship to hatred in the context of people clinging to it for their very survival, but he also dismisses his own feelings as "trivial," so I can see an argument for either way.

Olivier sees himself in pre-trauma Astolfo, which means he must have grown up relatively privileged and comfortable. The tiny glimpse we've seen of his childhood seems to support that. What desperate straits did he end up in that forced him to rely on hatred? Was it despite or because of that privilege? Despite or because of his involvement with the chasseurs? He doesn't seem that intense in his hatred for vampires (not relative to some other chasseurs, anyway), and we've yet to see him express particular dislike for anyone besides when he got into a fight with Gano over cruelty to Astolfo, so it could be almost anyone that he's talking about here.

I was never that interested in Olivier before these chapters came out, but MAN I'm curious about his history now.

clothing-wise not rlly but up until this year i would not leave the house unless i had the most fluttery huge (and ITCHY) falsies on but i think something switched in my brain recently bc ive been ditching the falsies and just do colored mascara/eyeliner instead. and tbh im still in awe over the complete lack of lash glue swimming around my eyelids that’s so nice

Like he received a warning and was scheming this whole mess of a situation to stop it but what if that exact plan of his is precisely what leads to the conflict? What if the warning was sent as a desperate hope that something would change, that he'd make a better plan... but no. It was always going to happen. There was no escape. Ever.

why is it always my shifts where the second counselor doesn’t come in and I have to do two jobs I’m not being paid enough for, and also I’m left alone in a facility I’m not supposed to be legally left alone in

#technically the boss boss is here but he’s sleeping on the sofa in the break room and decidedly NOT covering the second counselor’s job #he said he’d wake up and come back so I can go on break but that was supposed to happen 30 min ago #like it’s my turn to sleep on the sofa he needs to get back here #also I’ve been out of ratio for six + hours now!!!#not that anything is happening. I’ve been done with my work and the second counselor’s work for hours and the most that’s happened #is one of the clients shouted fuck you in their sleep and it startled me so bad #but if something were to happen. i’d be fucked. i’m not the counseor responsible for med keys so hopefully nobody has a medical emergency #I’m about to start wailing like a cat that got fed two minutes later than usual I want my nap!!!
