From what I understand from the show, Anarka and Jagged got together around the start of their career, and were a couple act. Sometimes around when the twins were born, Jagged's career started taking off. Anarka felt like Jagged cared more about his music than his family, so she took the kids and left without telling him.
It's not really clear if they were every married or not. Most likely Jagged continued working while Anarka was taking it easy through her pregnancy. Especially if they were already signed with Bob Roth, whom we can easily imagine wanting to promote the more manageable Jagged, and not the hard headed Anarka. This is all speculation, but it's possible that Bob also pushed Anarka out of the group, thinking no one would want to see a pregnant woman on stage.
Jagged doesn't strike me as someone who hates his family. Nothing he does or says in the show hints at this at all. From what he's said in the show, he makes it sound like he didn't want Anarka to leave with the twins. That he wanted to be their dad, but was also trying to make it as a musician. Sure, he didn't balance well and put more focus on his music, but he genuinely seemed to care about his kids.
When he's confronted by Truth, he doesn't even make excuses like "I was too busy" or "your mom wouldn't let me." He says "I was too lame to be a parent." This is still an excuse, but it's one made out of the belief that he can't be the parent he knows his kids to be. His decision was made based on what he felt was best for his kids.
However, Anarka also thought it best he not be around. She kept his identity from the twins, and wouldn't let Jagged come by. So it's not even completely Jagged's fault he wasn't there. This is actually pretty common irl, where divorced parents will try to make their kids take sides. In Anarka's case, she refused to tell her kids about their father, so that they wouldn't even have a choice. Then when Jagged finally reunites with them, she still insists he has nothing to do with them. Even with Jagged there, trying to be in his kid's life, she's still so insistent that he leave.
This isn't to say it's 100% Anarka's fault. She still has a lot of hurt feelings she needs to let go of, but those hurt feelings don't come from nowhere. While her logic was flawed, she still tried to do her best for her kids. She was so desperate to keep her kids from feeling the same hurt she'd felt, that she'd ended up hurting everyone else in the process. Including herself.

I dunno… Like
Her past intrigued me the most out of all the adult characters, and I can't understand her mix with Jagged. Like, he cheated on her and she got pregnant? They had an open relationship? Or did they only share intimacy? Why did she never tell her kids about their father? And why didn't their father pay child support lmao…

[takes a long drink from my Arizona iced tea] so like one of the central themes for FFXV is like, growing up, sure. You know that, I know that, whatever. Coming of age, coming into your own, taking the mantle of king, whatever you wanna call it. Cool, awesome, we love a good coming of age story!
But I find the sub theme of that one to be probably the most fascinating? By and large, all the chocobros have to deal with the fallout of being lied to by the adult figures in their lives, and it's the most prevalent with Noctis and Gladio. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of it in Ignis and Prompto too, but the particularly insidious way that Noctis and especially Gladio were lied to sometimes gets me.
See I don't even really think it was actually all that intentional. Not really a conscious act by Regis and Clarus, or the society around them? More like... I dunno, the lies that you get told by your parents as a little kid and you grow up to realize that the world is a lot different than you thought.
That being said, Noctis was absolutely lied to by his father; both about the nature of the King of Light and the idea that he'd succeed Regis as reigning monarch. Regis did it out of love, knowing that Noctis would die young, and reasoned that Noctis should get to have a relatively normal life, but it was still a lie. Gladio, likewise, was lied to by his father and Regis, told that he would be the next monarch's Shield, that he would fulfill a role that's got a pretty set expectation in their society.
See, Gladio expects Noctis to act a certain way, to act as King, and he gets increasingly frustrated when Noctis doesn't, or can't live up to that. He's not precisely wrong to expect it either, given their roles and their statues, and knowing that they're taking the throne during a full blown war. The problem is that Noctis was never taught how to be the thing that Gladio was told Noctis was going to be? And that's what causes friction with them all the time. It's fascinating, watching it play out and realizing the underlying issues with their relationships actually have very little to do with them as people and instead because of what they were told to expect from each other.
Gladio is also his own kettle of fish that I don't think the narrative is quite self aware enough to articulate properly, or even get into. Gladio falls into the trap of toxic masculinity very often -- struggling to articulate his feelings, expressing most of his feelings as anger, picking fights rather than talking about what's going on, using his strength as both a character aspect and bonus, etc. The list goes on. There's also the fact that he's sort of portrayed as a bit of a womanizer and the masculine ideal; tall, rugged, strong, etc which plays into all of that. XV plays him very straight (and straight) with these concepts, and just sort of ... expects it to be fine? Which is at odds with how the other three bros interact and are more emotionally available towards each other, leaving Gladio as one of the weaker bros in canon.
It kind of sucks too, because like, there's so much to unpack with him? His DLC is about wanting to have the strength to protect Noctis on the surface, but really when you look at it... you could also argue that the DLC is about Gladio's fears that he'll end up as dead as his dad did (ha, try that for alliteration) and the crushing weight of failure. Gladio has every right to fear his mortality, fear the fact that he is, nominally, the first in line on the battlefield and the the last defense for Noctis. If Noctis is to die, they will go through him first, and that's! Scary! But the game doesn't really get into that, hardly at all, and it makes picking up the pieces for Gladio kind of frustrating. Out of all the bros, he's the one I have to dig the most to find any kind of depth despite being prime real estate for it.
Anyways Gladio and Noctis' dynamic is fascinating if you actually start to unpack it, especially because it's built on the lies that their fathers fed them as children (that they themselves also bought into). I'd go so far to argue that between the two pairs, Noct/Gladio is in much more of a dire need to sit down and actually hash out what they are to each other, outside of their king/shield dynamic. Noct/Iggy certainly has shades of that, but Ignis has decided that they are friends and that he will defy fate if he must, let the world burn if he must, to save Noct's life. That has some depth beyond king/retainer that they're presented as. Noct/Gladio are sort of just... falling into the king/shield dynamic because they're expected to, and it sort of hampers their relationship and their communication.
I'm gonna scramble them both like eggs, probably into an omelette. They make me Think you know

JJK men as dads.
Characters: Gojo, Choso , Sakuna, Geto , Toji and Nanami.
Gojo Satoru – The Ridiculously Over-the-Top Dad
Gojo as a father would be chaotic good. He’s the kind of dad who shows up at parent-teacher meetings in designer sunglasses and acts like a celebrity. His kid? Spoiled beyond belief. Need a new toy? Boom, you have the entire toy store. Want dessert before dinner? He’s already handing you ice cream.
He’d be super playful, letting his kid ride on his shoulders at high speeds (terrifying for bystanders), randomly teleporting them places, and making everything a game. But when it comes to protecting them? No one is touching his kid. Ever.
Pros: Funniest and most entertaining dad, will literally bend reality to make his kid smile.
Cons: Probably lets them get away with way too much, so discipline? Who’s she?
Overall: The "best friend" type of dad but still a powerhouse of protection when needed.
Choso – The Overprotective, Gentle Dad
Choso would be so soft with his kid. He’s been through so much loss that once he has a child of his own, they become his entire world. He’d always make sure they feel loved and protected, constantly checking if they ate, if they’re warm, if they’re happy. If they so much as get a scratch, he’s holding them like they’ve been mortally wounded.
His bedtime stories? Legendary. He’s the kind of dad who will sit for hours telling stories and making shadow puppets on the wall. But if someone dares to harm his child? They’re dead. No hesitation.
Pros: Incredibly caring, super protective, and patient.
Cons: Might be too overprotective (his kid is not allowed to climb trees, ever).
Overall: A soft, warm dad who will also commit a crime for his child.
Sukuna – The “I’m Not a Softie” Dad (But He Is)
Sukuna as a dad would pretend he doesn’t care, but deep down, he’s got that soft spot. He’d be the dad that grumbles about how kids are annoying, but the moment his child looks sad? He’s casually placing their favorite snacks next to them and acting like it was always there.
His parenting style would be strict, though. No nonsense, no whining. But the second someone else tries to be mean to his kid? Immediate execution.
Pros: Will make sure his child is the strongest, and no one will ever mess with them.
Cons: Tough love to the max. “Crying? Weak. You can fight a bear, I believe in you.”
Overall: The dad who acts like he doesn’t care but would burn the world for his child.
Geto Suguru – The “Cool But Protective” Dad
Geto would be the cool dad—the one who’s got that chill vibe and never raises his voice unless he needs to. He’s the type to have deep conversations with his kid, teaching them about the world, strength, and how to handle things with grace.
But if someone messes with his child? He will destroy them. Effortlessly.
Pros: Wise, calm, and genuinely wants the best for his child.
Cons: Might be a bit too hands-off sometimes.
Overall: The dad who gives solid advice and will make sure his child is respected.
Toji Fushiguro – The “Tough but Soft” Dad
Toji would be a dad who tries to act like he doesn’t care much, but deep down, he’s so soft when no one’s looking. He’d teach his kid how to defend themselves from a young age and make sure they know how to survive.
He’s rough around the edges, but he’d do anything to give his child a better life than he had. If his kid ever got bullied? That bully would mysteriously disappear (coincidence? I think not).
Pros: Teaches survival skills, fiercely protective, secretly affectionate.
Cons: Struggles with showing emotions, might be distant at times.
Overall: The "tough-love" dad who is actually a big softie.
Nanami Kento – The Reliable, Best-Dad Material
Nanami is the perfect balance. He’s the dad who provides everything his child needs—stability, warmth, and love, but also discipline when necessary. His kid will grow up knowing their worth because Nanami will always be there to remind them.
He’s the kind of dad who comes home tired from work but still helps with homework, reads bedtime stories, and makes pancakes on weekends. If his child cries? He’s holding them and reassuring them with that deep, soothing voice.
Pros: Responsible, loving, and will always put his child first.
Cons: Might worry too much about their future.
Overall: The ultimate “Dad of the Year” type.

By the time your applications open (I'm afraid I'll forget lol) can you do a single mother hashira part (well, not so single anymore) where her first child spends time with his stepfather? and if so, does he have to spend time with his new mommies too? Maybe later with his new little brother or sister?😭😢
That boy deserves a daddy and to be happy!

Part 1 - Part 2 -Part 3
SPECIAL CHAPTER - TENGEN
SPECIAL CHAPTER - GYOMEI
NEW FATHER
NEW FAMILY AND BABY
Your son meant the whole world to you and it was also important to you that he got along with his younger sibling's father.
Tumblr media
Tengen and his wives, your wives, they welcomed you and your precious son to the Uzui family with open arms. Your son addressed Hinatsuru, Suma, and Makio with respect and his kindness won over the women's respect.
"Such a handsome young man!" Makio grinned.
"Very kind also," Hinatsuru nodded.
"You can call me Mommy if you want!" Suma smiled.
Your dearest son smiled as he tilted his head and asked, "If I can, is Mother alright with you?"
The three women swooned at your son and you were filled with not only a baby but with pride also. You really raised a wonderful young man.
"You can call me Dad if you want!" Tengen said and your son nodded, "Alright, Dad?"
"Just like that, my son!" The Sound Hashira laughed as he ruffled his new son's hair and you smiled as you watched your new husband and wives spoil your son.
A month passed and you went into labor. The birth was quick and went without a problem and so you gave Suma, Makio, Hinatsuru, and Tengen their first daughter and your son's first sibling.
The little girl was absolutely gorgeous, hair white as fresh snow like her father's but she had your and your son's eyes.
You were sleeping, exhausted due to giving birth and while you were resting, your family looked after your daughter.
Your son was holding his younger sibling in his arms, gently rocking her and whispering sweet things to her.
"Hey, sis..." He smiled, "I swear, I will always protect you and I'll always be on your side first..."
"You look flashy together," Tengen said as he looked at his children and your son smiled as he offered his younger sister to his new father, "Would you like to hold her?"
"May I?" He looked at his wives behind him and they all nodded eagerly.
"Be careful," Your son said as he gently gave his sister to her father and Tengen grinned, "Please, I have 4 wives, I think I can handle one little girl."
Famous last words. As soon as Tengen was done with his sentence, your little daughter started to squirm in his arms, and not even a second passed before she started wailing out loud.
"W- What now!?" The Sound Hashira panicked as he held your daughter awkwardly and your wives rushed to his rescue.
"Not like that!"
"You have to support her head!"
"Dear, like this!"
Slowly, you started to wake up from your little power nap, but as you regained your consciousness, all you saw was your family, acting as family should.
God, you were so happy.
Tumblr media
Gyomei was crying when your son addressed him for the first time as a father figure instead of as one of his mother's Hashira companions.
The blind man had experience when it came to raising kids, but he couldn't help but worry. He feared that he would let you and your son, no, his son also, that he would let you both down...
But your son liked Gyomei way more than the blind man ever expected. Your son revered Gyomei and was extremely respectful towards him, often asking if he could bring his new father something like if he wanted more tea or some snacks to go with it.
"Namu Amida Butsu..." Gyomei pressed his palms together as he moved his face to the direction where he heard your son's voice come from, "You don't need to serve me. I'm not helpless..."
"I know, but I want you and Mom to actually rest sometimes and be happy... Can't I help, Father?"
That was a tactic move on your son's part, but he was genuine with the title and you and your lover could both tell that your son meant what he said.
That was the first time your son ever addressed Gyomei as Father. As soon as the word slipped past your son's lips, the Stone Hashira was crying rivers.
"Gyomei, dear?" You frowned in worry, but the huge man shook his head, "Please don't fret, for these are tears of joy...!"
And there were plenty more tears of joy in the future you guys shared. Especially when it came time for the baby to come out and meet their older brother and father.
The delivery was rough since the baby was huge so you needed a lot of rest, but your son and Gyomei were more than happy to take care of the sweet little baby boy.
"He isn't crying..." Gyomei muttered and your son smiled, "He must be tired..."
"How does he look...?" The man asked and your son's smile could be heard as he replied, "So cute, just like you and Mom, Father."
"Namu Amida Butsu..." Gyomei started to pray, "Let God watch over you, my children...!"
"I don't think we need God when we have you, Father," Your son said, and a new set of tears streamed down the Stone Hashira's face, "Namu...!"
"Would you like to hold him?"
Gyomei wasn't sure. He was scared of his size and strength, fearing that he might hurt his newborn child unintentionally... But before he could reject the offer, your son took his arms and gently laid his baby brother to their father's strong arm.
Despite being a big baby, your son looked so small when in Gyomei's arms. The man was taken by joy as he gently rocked his son in his arms and heard the small sounds the baby made.
It melted his heart and your son was happy also... And secretly, so were you as you listened to them talk, too tired to open your eyes quite yet.
You decided to let them bond in peace. Your baby would let you guys know when he wanted Mommy.

Yellowjackets S3 Ep2 thoughts
spoilers below ⚠️
I'm laughing my fucking ass off, Mari's scared for her life screaming like an NPC and Ben is talking like a coach again... Honestly this has convinced me maybe Ben didn't set the fire (although before now I also have liked the theory other Tai did it, this just solidifies it a bit for me)
The switch from Ben yelling push to Mari and Shauna digging up her dead baby to hold him... Oh I'm crying. HE WASNT THERE WHEN SHE NEEDED TO BE TOLD TO PUSH AND NOW HES THERE TO TELL MARI! AGGH
Shauna burying her baby in a different place, rejecting the miracle and occult ideas of the wilderness the other girls have come to welcome
Misty the simp of all time
Taivan going to but "not going with them" lol they know Misty's just going to be trying to get comfy with Nat the whole time
Van's arms, that's it
Lottie's being problematic about inducing drug psychosis... Who would have guessed
Shauna actually saying something good about her family for once. Damn who knew all it took was for your kid to commit assault for you to start actually loving them
SIX WEEKS, HOW THE HELL IS LOTTIE OUT TF, I can't complain I guess
Lottie they were cruel af for calling psych on you (it's logical but coming from the YELLOWJACKETS it's just hypocritical) but those crocodile tears... The definition of grown ass puppy eyes. She sniffles!
Callie already ride and die for Lottie... Did she forget she SHOT her... Oh wait, I forgot that's literally Callie's dad obv she's ride or die 🤗
Jeff checking to make sure Lottie leaves to the porch before speaking his mind HAH
Van's got some PIPES, Taivan freaky once again everyone 👏
Walter and Misty are so simp4simp except Walter is the one person Misty won't simp for... She's digging her nose into that jacket and springing to attention AS SOON as Shauna calls... Walter can't believe this girl
wtf is up with Walter in that scene where Misty is talking to him. Dude looks like he's grieving, in depression, and scheming all at once I don't even know
Oh yeah Crystal, they didn't have a grave for her either (or mention her) on top of Laura Lee last episode (and before you talk about that theory that she doesn't exist, I'm pretty sure that's easily ruled out as not being possible)
Nat does not wanna talk to Misty... And she sure as hell is trying hard to hate Ben/look like she hates Ben... My Nat and Coach Ben friendship... I'm mourning
Callie's more afraid of Misty than Lottie (valid??) but this is hilarious she's immediately freaked out the contrast is insane
Nat sees the trap (Ben's) and tries to hide it, so obviously she doesn't actually want the girls to know/think he's alive, im wondering if she's found his traps before or not. Maybe she hasn't and that's another reason she gets super surprised
Anyways more Mistynat 😭😭😭 Nat's horrible at lying...
HOLY FUCK VAN'S ARMS 🙇🙇🙇
Wtf are lottie and Travis doing... Lottie stop feeding his psychosis baby 🙏
Lottie is sooo insane this season
Misty is absolutely failing at babysitting Lottie and Callie. Callie wants to get them drunk enough to talk sooo bad. Lottie IS the father
Mari and Ben team up?
Uh I just ate my words.
Anyways
A NOOSE??? Mari is not having a fun time, damn... She's catching Ls left and right
Now who was that in the bathroom???
These start up bros are super weird... And Shauna's catching them on their shit
They have ducks and bunnies 😵‍💫 absolute art
His name is Mortimer? His name is Mortimer!
Oh Travis deserves so much better my baby ❤️❤️
LOTTIE DONT, he needs a wilderness restraining order on her fr...
Why does Lottie make Travis the test dummy for this "communication"?? I'm interested because she isn't acting like this to any of the others, not even Nat (who sort of has the blessing of the wilderness)
Oh well Akilah is NOT safe now...
I KNEW IT! MISTY'S PLAYING THE CARDS IN HER FAVOUR TO GET ATTENTION. Shauna still doesn't like her though lol
Oh my Lord forget the Caligula dance number they FILMED THIS for a tv segment for the TV show...
Question is, what did Lottie spill to Callie while Misty was out cold?
Callie braiding Lotties hair <3
Misty just wants to have toxic one-sided codependent friendships Walter, what's so wrong about that? 🙄
Well Ben might be a bit insane
Ooo who laid flowers at wilderness baby's new grave?
Oh, well Melissa with her stupid ass boy shorts and that pretty crop top, she's so pretty 😍 her poor hat's gone MIA though
I'm gay, Melissa's gay, Shauna's a girl kisser
Shaunahat has to be one of the most interesting things i have ever seen
Oh they're freaky alright WITH THE KNIFE AT THE NECK STILL
Ending thoughts:
Want more Laura Lee... obviously I'm a sucker for Jane Widdop I would love to see them back on the show for flashbacks, but overall just an acknowledgment of Laura Lee this season ❤️
Is Ben insane? Is he hallucinating or actually talking to someone and we just can't see/hear them?
Wtf is up with teen Lottie?
What is going to happen with Callie regarding the Yellowjackets and the Wilderness?
I'm still manifesting a pig blood orgy like those mean highschool girls 🤷
More Shaunahat honestly 😈 , would love to see more teen Taivan
I don't think Akilah is going to be safe anymore after this episode since Travis just put Lottie on her.

Dallas Winston NYC Headcanon
Here's my little hc (this is actually an excerpt from a fanfic I've been writing 🙂‍↔️) on Dally's time in New York! (+ how he got there, why he left, etc) I honestly have no idea how close this is to being canonically accurate but this is what my brain decided. In this hc, the gang are childhood friends. Dally knows them before he takes off in this scenario (idk if that's canon, it is in my heart).
Anyway, I was told I should share (thank you @rinajjbp 🫡). Please lmk y'all think. 😙🫶🏻
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
He thought back on his ten-year-old self. He’d had enough of his drunk of a father using him as a punching bag and decided to find his mom. She had run out on them when Dally was maybe four or five, so long ago he barely remembered her. He just had a picture, a name, and the knowledge that she lived in New York City. That was enough to make him believe he could find her. On the night he decided to leave, Dally waited until the old man was passed out next to the radio. He riffled through his wallet, taking all of the cash he could find, and swiped his last pack of cigarettes before walking right out the front door.
If Dally was honest with himself, once he finally found her, he realized that she wasn’t much better than his dad. However, her rare moments of kindness were enough for Dally to stick around for a few years – even if she did knock him around a little here and there, especially when she drank too much. But she took him in with almost no questions asked. When she felt like being nice, she’d encourage him to go to school and tell him to stay out of trouble. He struggled with that last one and Dally somehow found himself in the most trouble of his short life. The first time he was arrested was shortly after he arrived at his mom’s apartment. Dally was used to being able to snatch whatever he wanted from the drugstore back in Tulsa and get away with it. He figured out quickly that the same rules did not apply in New York.
So, instead of cleaning up his act, Dally just got better at stealing. He figured out new tactics and new ways to deceive people. By the time he was almost eleven, Dally was in and out of the county jail like it had a revolving door. Though, this was just the beginning of his mischief. After getting involved with a gang, he found out what real trouble was. For a while he just observed. He was the youngest of their group and wanted to figure out how to stake his claim as a real member. He watched the older boys pickpocket people out on the streets. He watched them jump kids in other gangs for no good reason. He practically took notes when the others would lie, cheat, and steal their way through everything. Once Dally figured out his role in the group, he joined in on any of the action he could. Soon enough, he was jumping people and pickpocketing easy targets. They’d get drunk and smoke dope when there was no fighting to be done.
It was all fun and games until Dally witnessed a drug deal gone wrong. Shots were fired and he watched as one of his friends crumpled to the ground. It was a difficult sight to stomach at the age of just thirteen, and before Dally could be next, he left. He walked home in the November cold, and couldn’t wrap his mind around the fact that he had just watched someone die. His friend. One of the older boys that had taken Dally under his wing. He showed him the ropes of the gang, and helped him out the first time Dally was jumped. Someone who had done so much for him was just gone now.
When he got home that night, his mom was passed out on the couch. He didn’t notice the sleeping pills spilled out on the floor, or the empty bottle of vodka that had rolled underneath the couch. The only thing he could see was the image of his buddy, someone he knew in real life, collapsed to the ground in a puddle of his own blood. He had never felt such suffocating rage before. He’d experienced loss in the gang, but not like this. This was different. He wanted to scream, he wanted to beat the hell out of someone, he had even wanted to cry. Dally didn’t sleep that night. He stared at the ceiling, not being able to get that horrible image out of his head. The next morning when Dally emerged from his room, he found his mother still lying on the couch. When she didn’t yell at him to shut the hell up as he shuffled around the kitchen, he figured she was dead too.
He didn’t feel the need to cry or scream the way he had the night before. He didn’t want to rage and use violence as a coping mechanism. He cleaned up the sleeping pills and vodka bottle, and sat down on the floor in front of her and took in her features one last time. Her eyes were closed, and her blonde hair covered half of her face. He never thought he looked a lick like her, until his eyes caught her pointed ears and instinctively he touched his own. It was the one thing they shared, and while he couldn’t find it in him to cry over his mother’s death, he’d hold this near to him for a while. He observed her a little bit longer, wishing he knew if she had done this on purpose or not. But it didn’t matter, she was dead either way, and the stillness of her body was beginning to creep him out.
So, Dally gathered up what he would need to get back to Tulsa and headed out. He silently thanked his mother for the time they had together, even if she had been a drunk. At least she cared some of the time. He hoped that when he made it back to Tulsa, his old friends would still be there. And this was the one time that Dally felt like luck was on his side. It was just barely daylight still when he hopped off that Greyhound bus. It had been a few years, but he knew which side of town he belonged on as if it were engraved into his bones. He tracked his way back to the Curtis house.
He stopped for a moment, readying himself for the chaos that would ensue when they found out he was back. Mrs. Curtis greeted him first, she wrapped her comforting arms around him and held him tightly. Then Mr. Curtis gave him a firm clap on the shoulder before pulling him into a hug. All three brothers were next, engulfing him in the biggest hug Dally had ever experienced. He wasn’t one for physical touch, but it was nice to know he had been missed. He was thankful they hadn’t forgotten about him.
Dally almost didn’t recognize any of the Curtis boys. They had all grown so much in the time he was away. Darry was sixteen now, learning how to drive. He had shot up about a foot and was playing football. Soda was still as happy-go-lucky as ever, and made sure to let Dally know that middle school is awful and gave him a long list of things he will hate about going to school there. Pony, meanwhile, had discovered a new hobby in the last three years; story writing. He showed Dally all of his journals with all kinds of different stories written in them. Most of the time Dally would tell him to buzz off, but he humored him just this once. He was certainly happy to be back where he knew he belonged.

Scar erasure is horror is so peak, never seen it used? Lil bit of body horror. Give it to Mark Grayson, why not <3
Debbie be defined by something OTHER than men challenge (failed). I am so tired. Make her a person. Please. Can she ever be a person? Can she please?
Oliver does scream plot device, which I feel neutral for, small children tend to be I suppose. Tho it irritates me more when his actions/thoughts don't actually reflect how he's parented by Debbie and/or Mark. Which we've discussed before already, but what really ticks me off is why he looks like a purple human child. Cosplay dye gone wrong ass baby. Who dunked him in grape juice. NOBODY IS PURPLE. And I KNOW this isn't a unique mutation thing because they NEVER bring up how being a hybrid impacts their biology/culture/genes/what have you (at least in show?). THRAXANS ARE ALL BLUE. They're not even different shades of blue. HE'S PURPLE. I am calming myself down. I am calm. Back to the point, Cecil raising Oliver is such a concept...scribbling that down for a oneshot cause, truly, what would that look like? Though, there's something so funny about Oliver still being a little shit and Mark blaming himself anyway. He's such a guilt magnet (affectionate).
AND GASP. Mark failing so hard at raising Oliver, rather than dragging Debbie into it, it's CECIL? The fucked up parental/mentor dynamic of the CENTURY? HELLO? You can't just say this to me, my brain is spinning. At what point does he realize he's over his head? Like, does Cecil get an emergency call only to realize it's a sleep deprived, painfully frantic Mark trying to ask him how to put a shrieking, fussy toddler to sleep? Cecil refusing to change diapers. What does that look like, omg. Does Oliver live there at the GDA and Mark starts visiting like crazy, and there's in-house babysitters designated to Oliver? Shared custody omg. I can potentially see Cecil agreeing only to use as leverage, Mark owes him, and Oliver can be potentially loyal to him?
Why would Oliver be so aware? And, yeah, it's the framing of his origins that's driving my curiosity, here. Because yeah, if he remembers the utter destruction of his own home and his dad's people killing others, would he not have some hostility towards Nolan? Like, is Nolan just described as a "bad guy"? A hero who did "bad things"? Have they ever tried framing murder/death/etc in a way Oliver can understand, he's a child, no? Like how does Oliver like his dad so much? HOW???? Is Mark telling Oliver the fun stories about their dad as he processes how he feels about Nolan? Like it'd be one thing if Debbie doesn't talk about it at all + Mark can't process the full what Nolan did, thus telling romanticized stories. Then it makes Mark's inability to articulate why it's so bad make sense, because he has to face what Nolan did to others/him/Debbie/etc himself. But that's not what they're doing here? This is why this show makes me squint. They just have a dynamic but not how we got here, and it's not quite clear why they'd even act that way to cause this outcome.
CHEW HIS FOOD? I FORGOT THAT?? JUSTICE FOR DEBBIE? WHAT ABOUT A BLENDER BRUH? Also fr, Debbie did SO MUCH for this AFFAIR CHILD and this mf names himself Omni-Man Junior/The kid whatever. TRULY WHERE DID HE? It can't even be a "oh viltrumites genetically/biologically find it difficult to emphasize," 'cause look at Mark??? HE'S ALSO A HYBRID? Why wouldn't Debbie point out Mark used to be the same way if she's raised both? Nolan, like you said, ruined lives. Ruined Andressa's! Oliver would REMEMBER THAT ??? Oliver would SEE any article / post / video about Nolan is HIM DESTROYING ANOTHER CITY? Outright trying to kill his BROTHER. If anything, Oliver could've been so hostile to Nolan he'd want to kill him, just SAYING that, and not quite understanding the depth of death/murder, THUS Mark's inability to refute that THEN stems from a) the shock b) dealing with the thought he doesn't want his Dad to die and still misses him c) acknowledging his Dad has continuously hurt people and hasn't stopped yet, would that be right? Boom, morality dilemma. Or, solidify Mark TRYING to be consistently anti-kill, batman style.
Like this can work, at least for me, but the current setup is confusing????
Also give Oliver ability to make insect-like sounds. Like legit anything. I'm trying to push through wip's, and I keep including Oliver makes a clicking sound (like predator movies) as a baby 'cause it's a noise Thraxans can make, like give me something different??? WHY IS A PURPLE CHILD.
Also curious how you're finding the newest 4th episode! :)
Mark agreeing to go hang out on a beach w Debbie instead of refusing and the beach is Beach City (am now officially thinking too much about this crossover lol)
The way I got caught up on our back and forth I almost forgot this, lol! AND OH MY GOODNESS, IMAGINE? I forget exactly what which point Debbie makes the beach offer, but I’d love when exactly in SU/SUF-timeline they’d go? There’s something so fucking funny to me about them going during the SUF-timeline and always narrowly missing the strange, Steven-shaped mental breakdowns in the back. I know those don’t occur in a single day, but it’s tickling me. How could they miss anything? I don’t know I just think it’s funny.
Though, post-SUF is interesting if Gems can see the similar “world on your shoulders”, Mark has going on! Steven can shunt the narrative in the Gems’ minds, which I think is neat, if I’m not misusing the phrase since the guy’s on the road far away. Or maybe it’s just before Steven goes and they stumble into each other. I’d kinda love Pearl and Debbie interacting, honestly, if they could talk about loving someone who hurt you, hide things from you, even when you thought you knew them so deeply, and they left you to raise a child. Pearl being in a well adjusted space, and Debbie still grieving.
Honestly, the gems could help train Mark, they’re got experience and similar-ish powers in strength, sturdiness, and they can jump/run fast enough for flying to be vaguely similar enough to lecture about, I think. Or Lapis Lazulis, haha! Peridot with her trash can lid! Garnet, I’d love to see if she told Mark anything about his future in vague, well meaning advice. Or even giving relationship advice considering Amber. Or, importantly, how to convince an entire reign to end their colonizing ways, lol. Is Mark perhaps willing to start a war, take advantage of being related to any leaders, or fake his own death to varying results?
In general, there’s something so fucking funny to me about Nolan, in the sake of comparison, being Pink Diamond coded. Like OH, did an important or well respected of the colonizing empire come to earth and learn the beauty of its people and nature, including faking/lying/omitting things about his identity and background to being in, only to feel conflicted when his responsibility still remained, and he tried to free himself from them? Yikes! We’ve been through that before! Like gimme Pink Diamond and Nolan outfit swap rn. This is tickling me so much oh my goodness.

*sighs* Silco, Silco he's, he was a good father to Jinx yeah I mean sure not perfect but he did everything he could to raise and stabilize Jinx's fragile and chaotic mental stability the way he knew how. Silco sees himself in Jinx but he knows she's far more troubled than him. He tries to help her overcome her trauma the only way he knows how by telling her how he overcame his. He's not perfect he's most definitely not the ideal father but for a villain I gotta give credit where it's due. Unlike other villains he actually loved and cared for Jinx. She's his baby, the only one he has a soft spot for. He really loved that little girl, his daughter, the one he trusted the most, his only successor. I also think he was similar to Jinx with how he despised Vi like how Jinx despised Caitlyn. Silco hated Vi thinking she's just like Vander, a traitor, someone who abandoned Jinx. I guess that's why he wanted her dead. In his mind he really thinks Vi is nothing more than that, that she's just someone who'll continue to hurt his kid and that's why she gotta go.

just vividly imagined all the kids clamoring for a chance to arm wrestle sportacus, and he’s like “uhh i don’t know, are you sureee?” and the kids are like “YES!!” so he wrestles them all one by one and goes just easy enough on them so that they ALMOST win except for like, ziggy, who he just lets win, so all the kids are completely blown away and sportacus just watches on proudly as ziggy soaks up his newfound fame. #sportadad

anybody else ever have the sudden realization that the reason they can never really get a handle on positive character dynamics between parents/guardians/caretakers and children without feeling like they come off as cheesy/oversaccharine is because their own parents kinda lowkey suck ass
because that realization feels wack
#rosie babbles#me fixating on gravity falls: 'wow i love how they really drove home how much grunkle stan loves the kids.#must be something in the air in the falls. wish it was real <3'#me fixating on various versions of tmnt: 'wow theres a pretty wide range of splinters out there haha.#its neat how some of them are realistic and some are kinder :)'#me fixating on animator vs animation: 'yippee!!! a storyline following a dude who sucks as a dad to his creations slowly becoming better!!!'#me fixating on ninjago: 'man i wish *I* lived in a world where i could be silly around the man of the house'#me realizing one of the points of shows like this aimed at kids is so kids growing up can have a point of reference for what a healthy#relationship to adults they look up to can be: 'what an important thing for kids to learn!'#me age 25 realizing the reason parental figures aren't constantly talking over their 'kids' in fiction isn't just for narrative simplicity:#'oh no'#sorry i just had the realization that a lot of my 'normal' would be seen as 'flanderization' if i tried to paste it onto relevant character#dynamics when writing stuff#like. only one master splinter (and only during a specific point in his life) would hear his kids having a mental breakdown and just make#sure they're not dying before fucking off in discomfort#grunkle stan would teach his kids to drive#master wu is lowkey (HIGHKEY) a MESS and can have a temper sometimes but he doesn't stew in it and let it fester#like.#i WISH i could talk abt things that interest me without having to hear my dad laugh mockingly and tell me every reason they Suck Actually#if i DARE to say any of it while he's in earshot#if i wrote a fanfic where a character like the ones i've mentioned kept derailing conversations and acting butthurt when people got fed up#and avoided him there'd need to be a damn good reason for it to keep it from being just completely immature and out of left field#and yet. AND YET.#argh. i need to log off for the night (and i probably won't make it all night but still)

having twin peaks thoughts & theories bc i just started watching the return (i know spoilers ofc) and i have literally nowhere else to put my thoughts so i'm just gonna dump them here.
obviously i don't every single thing about twin peaks was meant to just be like... One Thing and that's it. i think there's room for interpretation for a reason butttt the one thing i just keep going back to about the show is just that. like. it's about the corruption of innocence and the perversion of family. of cycles of violence and abuse. children being sexually taken advantage of by "trusted" adults. teenage prostitution rings. barely a single relationship in the town wherein people aren't cheating on someone/cheated in the past. bob being "the evil that men do" (tbf this is technically just albert's theory but i choose to believe it) and now this weird thing with judy/the experiment (are they the same thing? idk yet) being the thing that CREATED bob? there's this weird thing i get with the black lodge/waiting room like... good people can't survive there without disappearing completely (nonexistence) or being permanently changed (in the case of annie, ig)
and then ofc you have the tormented souls being trapped there (laura, maddy, caroline(tbh idk what was going on w her doppelganger being there?), leland(he was originally a victim too, i'm getting there)) because of the things that were done TO them. i was thinking like. in regards to the frogmoth that crawled into sarah's mouth (when she was a child) and everything that's going on w/ her in the return (watching insanely violent things on tv, "eating" men, etc.) ... compounded with leland's story about bob "I was just a boy. I saw him in my dreams. He said he - he wanted to play. He opened me and I invited him and he came inside me." ... mr. c's introduction song being a twisted version of "american woman" (i've heard this is also related to diane's doppelganger, as well. makes sense) w/ the stand-out lyrics (aka the backwards ones) being "all my headstrong women... don't let em put you in a corner. make em salute you like a flag on the fourth of july." and sarah palmer having a shortened and remixed version of "good man" blaring in her house that just repeats the lyrics "i'm a good man. i'm having fun." like. there's smth to this i'm not insane...
anyways to go even FURTHER... there being specific emphasis on being in the right time and the right place. opposites (giant and dwarf, young and old, black and white, etc.) and the planets jupiter and saturn.
the experiment violently killing that couple that was watching the glass box bc they were having sex? or because they were(n't) watching? or both? the experiment very obviously being the thing inside of sarah but it pulling off it's own face within sarah and revealing a smile that looks eerily similar to laura's (even if not exact... ppl are such pedants about things being exact in this show where literally everything is drenched in like 8 metaphors at any given time) AND the laura in the black lodge/waiting room removing her own face in the exact same way. it's weird that in this instance, laura's dialectical opposite or opposing force is her own mother who she claims she has so much in common with. but this goes even a step further because when the experiment spawned in the glass box, it has a gold orb (or smth like it) like the one laura's like... spirit? was born from? AND APPARENTLY there's a little clip of what sounds like sheryl lee's voice saying "gone" or "the one" or something like that while the experiment is flying towards them (not unlike an owl) to kill them... hm. not to mention the experiment has a proboscis-like knife that comes out of its mouth that it uses to kill the guy sexually harrassing sarah at the bar... and carrie page has a dead guy in her motel room that has a hole in his head... could obviously def just be a bullet-wound LMAO but idk let's have fun w it!
i do think there's a crazy connection between sarah, laura, and the experiment/judy/whatever. "the room seems different... and men are coming. something happened to me. i don't feel good..." obviously, i will be able to make more connections and add to this theory as i watch more but from what i've seen i think there's a huge connection to children and how easily it is for them to be taken advantage of (literally every member of the palmer family was taken advantage of as a child when an evil entity entered them. i mean. how more on the nose can you be!!) or for their innocence to get stolen (prostitution, drugs, murder, becoming child brides to abusive older men... the list goes on). and there's obvious themes of intense sexual violence and dreams and blahhhh. it's like 5:30am and i'm theorizing about a show that will never have an actual answer LMAO... to be fair though it's not ABOUT actually "solving" it for me. i think most media works well when you get what you want or need from it and just kind of make that The Point and, for me, twin peaks will always be about the tragedy of laura palmer before it's about anything else!
i really do like that theory that dale cooper is just like. an entity that laura dreamed up to save her originally but in the end, after she had finally escaped being laura palmer and that life and that house and her trauma, he ended up bringing her right back to it. it's like. how does that not make people insane?
#fwiw i know dale kinda CAN'T be made up considering his past but if you actually like. think about it it weirdly lines up#the fbi in the show is already like. insanely idealized in the fact that they actually care about stopping horrible things from happening#and not a single one of those fbi agents ever acts normal LMAO but that's lynch for you. still though i think there's smth to be said about#like. dale cooper IS the fbi. he is the quintessential fbi agent who lives and breathes laura palmer's case and when he solves it#he just goes on to (try) to live in her town and never leave#and laura hated her town and almost everyone in it and her life so it's like. i do see that it doesn't fit perfectly as a theory#but at the same time isn't dale cooper just kind of like an insanely idealized caricature of someone living a worthwhile life#he's outrageously positive he has an answer for everything he's free to love whoever he wants and yes he has a dark past but#it comes up as more of an afterthought than anything that necessarily haunts him (mid-s2 was just um. well. eheh. anyways.)#but like even his archnemesis windom earle and their rivalry is so picturesque. an fbi agent having an affair with his partner's wife#and that makes said partner go insane and kill his wife and disappear. like... is that not the most telegraphed cartoon-ass backstory#that an fbi agent could have? i mean this in a complimentary way btw. like windom earle's whole thing is chess and disguises. he dresses as#a horse. to kidnap bobby's dad. does this not sound like something a child would come up with. meanwhile the giant is a guy named 'the#fireman' who just so happens to live in (or behind the veil of ig) a place where bobby's dad used to take him as a kid#and this is the man who sent laura's spirit to the world as a force of ultimate good or something. because LAURA IS THE ONE.#idk there's smth there about twin peaks all being a child's dream about what being an adult is like and a way to characterize all the#bad things that happen to people (not even just adults) like wouldn't it be so great if you could blame your father sexually abusing you on#a guy named bob. wouldn't it be great if you could blame all the world's problem's on the creation of atomic bombs bc what's scarier than#living through the cold war and constantly waiting for nuclear destruction that never comes? what's scarier than the violent reality of any#given situation. it would be great if we could blame all the bad things we do on our evil doppelganger from another world#idk. just smth i think about when i watch the show. that's all

Let him call, because again, Agasa was the one who set up this secret, he should be the one defending it. Again, the parent shows up out of the blue here, but I kinda wish they didn't. Because Shinichi's the protagonist, he has to deal with everything in the end, but I want Agasa to be confronted. Have him make up more lies. Bring in the parents slower, have them contact Kogoro to arrange for Conan to stay long term and work out payment. Ran asks about the parents and Kogoro is like 'oh it's fine, they're covering his stay', and Conan's going '...? ???????'. Agasa denies having anything to do with it on Yuusaku's orders. Conan frets about it for a while and they actually see how he'd react to potential unknown danger. And then spring the 'kidnap him' trap to fully show him what could possibly happen.
But I guess just 'kidnap him and potentially give him a heart attack to prove that death is a real possibility' without any setup or warning is fine, too, sure.
#ch 49#vol 5#I actually don't mind the kidnapping as much as many other people#But now I've made a more fleshed out scenario in my head that I'm sad isn't how this goes#But mostly I just want more acknowledgement that Shinichi never set up any of the identity drama#Agasa made up the story; he's the one who put secrecy in Shinichi's mind; and if there's any poking at the story; Agasa should be defending#Instead he just sits at home not having to deal with anything except occasional vents from Shinichi#And I guess fiddle with gadgets that might help#But really he was just 'oh you shrunk; well that sucks but no you're not staying with me; go with Ran'#Like; I know he justifies it with Ran's dad running an actual detective agency and thus can potentially get criminal info#But lbr; both of them knew that Kogoro wasn't going to get anything useful from where he was at the time#And even if he told Shinichi to increase Kogoro's reputation; there wasn't any planning on how to make that happen#Which almost got Shinichi killed /immediately/ after getting shoved onto Ran#Agasa doesn't even know about that near-death experience; and it would 100% be his fault tbh#Many times Shinichi was going to die would be because of Agasa insisting on secrecy and giving Shinichi the responsibility-#Wait; no; hold on; he might have not actually been trying to help Shinichi hunt for the org#He might have just shoved him into a place he was relatively certain would be safe#And told Shinichi he could just make Kogoro famous if he wanted to put the detective in a position to get info#/But he wasn't actually supposed to be able to do it - Shinichi wasn't supposed to succeed at doing that/#He was sent into hiding with a former cop; Agasa probably didn't realize he'd actually be in the fringes of BO activity#Or that Shinichi is just /that/ reckless when it came to crime solving#It was supposed to be a placebo while he and probably the parents tried to think about what to do#But Shinichi not only gets very close brushes with death on a regular basis#He can't even keep up the kid act with Ran and needs help#Agasa took his eyes off the teen child for two seconds and found that he started a bonfire of danger somehow#(Look at that; yes; I /can/ think myself in many circles to make almost anything justified)

I believe that IF Silver IS a descendent of Sonic/Shadow/Amy/anyone else, he's a descendent via adoption because the only Sonic character that I accept having kids is Vanilla.
honestly part of the reason im not a fan of the ideas of silver being a descendant of other characters we already know is because i just dont see why its necessary for them to be related ..? idk i just dont think anything that could be gained from him being shadows kid or sonics descendant or whatever is worth losing part of whats already compelling about silver and also making things super confusing. plus none of the pairings of already existing characters people have suggested as silvers bio parents make any sense, usually because its impossible from a timeline perspective but also because theyre always picking characters who would NOT have kids either in general or with the specific people theyre being paired with
#i also just kinda have a hard time imagining most sonic characters who arent already parents (so. most of them) wanting to be parents#it just does not feel right to me#i guess part of it could be an age thing . being a parent is an Adult thing and most sonic characters are not adults#so imagining them doings things that only adults do by in universe standards just feels strange and foreign to me#even though these scenarios would obviously take place a couple decades into the future#but also even when specifically thinking about it through the lens of ''would this character want to be a parent when theyre older''#the answer is usually no or idk#because there are a lot of characters where it just doesnt feel like it fits them?#sonic and rouge are a couple characters i can name off the top of my head who i know for sure would not have kids.#shadow im not so sure about either. yet he is the most common choice for silvers bio parent. pain#thing about shadow and silver is i think a timeline where shadow is actually around to meet little silver and is like#a mentor/older brother/guardian figure of sorts does kinda have potential to be interesting but i dont really want that to be made canon#but shadow straight up being his dad? idk man. not really into that. shadow being his biological dad? ABSOLUTELY not into that .#people having the present version of shadow whos a teenager barely older than silver being a dad to him?? weird as hell. no#asks#also part of what bugs me about the shadow as silvers dad stuff is people pretending its anything more than a baseless headcanon#like im not saying all headcanons have to have proof behind them but people act like the shadow as silvers dad thing#is an actual plausible theory that could be true and has tons of evidence? when it really doesnt ??#i feel the need to specify that im not trying to police what people do or aynthing just sharing my opinions
