Seemed like she was staying put and planted at the entrance and so Ashton didn't push on that, despite it being slightly strange. Though he wasn't going to judge, fear these days were easily understandable, perhaps even in the way she introduced herself. An inkling of familiarity grew from the surname but Ash couldn't quite put a finger on it.

Not until she mentioned her husband's name did he put two and two together, memories coming back in regards to him, and word of a high profile murder case of American students in Paris kept going around the marine forces at one point, "ah, Henri, the professor right? I've met him at NYU before, I teach there too sometimes, but I'm just doing my PhD." Again, he took noticed to the ways she corrected herself, words more than just timid, but rather, cautious. He chalked it up to nerves and brushed it away, not his business to pry.

"Of course, let me get a kettle on," water was the one thing they definitely had after hoarding the snow to melt and filter through. Ash stood up gently, not wanting his sudden movements to startle her again, getting a kettle of water on the boil. The sound of water bubbling filled the silence exaggerated by the distance between them. "Do you have what you need upstairs?" It was a well intentioned question that Ash felt like still he needed explain, "I don't see you down here often so.. if there's any supplies you need, y'know, let us know."

his apology crinkled her brow, the faintest lines of confusion as she tried to place his words, his actions. of course he didn't know the penthouse, no one had stepped foot in her rooms in months. it was better that way, the wariness of familiarity etched into every sleepless night. "elisabeth— olivier," the name was still heavy, a stone in her mouth where it might have otherwise flowed in lilting french. of course after so many years it should have been second nature, and yet her brain still stuttered, clinging to the possibility that she might instead announce herself as fehr.

"it's only, i think, it's only me and henri on the floor." there wouldn't be any other reason to visit, the excuse already made for his lack of knowledge. "henri and i." she corrected herself, twisting the wedding ring around her finger. let it be wrong grammar, and never the wrong thing. it was always so easy to say the wrong thing.

"i don't want to take the coffee away." her gaze found its way back to the tea bags that he'd set out, though she still didn't step further into the room. a ghost on the outskirts of anything meaningful, preparing to disappear if the conditions were not right. "just hot water, if there is any."

You were walking at a river, listening to a story one of your friends is telling, when you receive a message.

You groan and take out you phone to answer back as quickly as possible, but when you saw what the message was about, you were the one that nearly collapsed.

You didn't mean to be that mean, you really didn't but it just pissed you off so much. He hurt you and now he's expecting you to just come over and act like nothing ever happened?? You did care about him, a lot, but rightnow, you don't even know if you care about him since he's your boyfriend, or because he's a human being. Either way, you don't plan on forgiving him, not yet, not since it's been a week and there hasn't been even one message or apology.

"Y/n? Y/nnnnnnn everything okay????? You've been staring at your phone for minutes." Rin, one of your friends, asks you, as you were standing still, staring at your conversation with Felix.

"I'm...fine..just something..... unnecessary" you shove your phone back in your bag "Let's not mind it. How about we'll go shopping?" They all agreed on going shopping, but you honestly weren't in the mood for a fun day anymore, not when your mind keeps wandering to chan. Even if he was an asshole...you still love him.

Later that evening, you drove over to the hospital chan was at, to "just drop off a bag" of fresh clothing for him tomorrow.

Earlier that day you asked Felix not to drop anything off and that you'll do it later, also asking him about Chan's state. Apparently he fainted due to stress, lack of sleep and also a sudden panic where his heartbeat wasn't quick enough to exchange the oxygen in his body fast enough, so it was in fact not your fault.

Well, not all at least.

You were just going to take a quick look at him, to make sure he's not dead. You love him after all... You can't just stop caring for him, you just wanted to see that he's okay...it's been a week and to be honest, you did miss him, somehow.

So here you sit, next to his bed, watching him sleep peacefully. The nurses let you in, when you said you'd quickly drop off his bag.

You just stared at his face for a while, before standing up and giving him a quick peck on his lips before walking towards the door, turning around when he mumbles out your name.

Oh this voice. His voice. How you missed hearing your name with that voice, from him. But instead of saying anything, you quickly and quietly get out of the room. You didn't wanna talk to him and you also don't want to give him the joy of knowing, that you still miss him after what he said.

The next morning you were awoken by messages blowing up your phone and were close to a heart attack when you didn't recognize your surroundings, when you realize that you moved in your new apartment early, so you wouldn't wake up to a half dead chan banging at your door.

What did you do? Why did you say that? And why did he keep giving you the fault? Questions over questions linger in your head as you cried. Au where Bruce doesn't adopt Jason (because it never crosses his mind) but, after getting away with stealing Batman's tires and hitting him with a tire iron, Jason comes to the conclusion that B ain't shit and he can absolutely do more petty theft and mild inconveniences.

Batmobile is left unattended? The tires are gone. Batman drops a batarang/grapple gun? That's Jason's now. Batman tries to talk Jason into giving his stuff back? He clearly doesn't have them, you're crazy Bruce (the collection is visibly right behind him, he is literally holding a batarang as he says this).

Bruce tried to complain about it to Dick but he laughed so hard, he gave up. Dick thinks Jason is hilarious and after making sure he isn't dangerous helps him get into the manor. (Alfred won't say it out loud but he also clearly finds the kid funny so he let it happen)

Bruce eventually has a thought of "oh He's just looking for a family! I should adopt him!" And asks Jason if he wants to be officially adopted. Jay laughs in his face and throws a pillow at him. Bruce realises he was wrong.

He doesn't die, just goes out of town for a month or two to visit a friend and B immediately goes "all of my stuff is here wtf where'd Jay go?" and after looking around gotham he comes to the conclusion that he's dead. He tells Dick and Alfred that Jason died in an 'I'm absolutely certain' way so they assumed he double checked and didn't just overreact to a few weeks of absence.

Everyone was shocked next time he came to the manor (including Jason because he didn't think they'd care that much and didn't realize that B would assume he was dead) and it's just

"Jason?!? I thought you died!?"

"I was literally just at Roy's house?? Did you not think to check before assuming I died???"

Everyone is incredibly happy, Jason is just confused (and kind of flattered)

The other kids still show up, Tim came over to be B's fill in for Jason like a week before he came back and became a hero a few months after Jay came back. (They don't fight in this au because Jay didn't consider himself Bruce's son and neither of them were robin)

Damian is very concerned about the random dude that drops in and out of the manor (stealing random shit every time, from mugs and snacks to an entire TV) but B and Dick just go "nah he's basically family dw" like no that's our random theif.

it took you a long pause before answered, "husband." jay tilts his head, displeased. then he continued, "whose husband?"

"mine," you say, looking away while giving him an answer. the fact that you are trapped forever with that man give you an incomprehensible feeling. "good. even better if you would face me every time we talk," he cups your shoulders, turn you around, facing him. "stay still, let me take you to the couch and treat this so that you would thank your lovely husband," jay speaks, his tone's so flat and deep you could feel the anger. but still—

"i can do that, you should go to work now."

"you still wanna walk on your own? okay then, go ahead," jay watches you trying to stand up. your legs trembled and your body shivered. you could barely take one step ahead, a short blackout and you're back again in starting line. well, i guess this one is terrible. before you could try again, a familiar voice interrupted, "how is it, darling?"

your throat feels dry, it's painful even for taking a gulp. you pluck up the courage to face jay whos been looking at you for a while now. "help me," you finally give up. "pardon? what did you just say, miss?"

tears forming in your eyes, you're about to explode, yet you still continue, "please ... help me."

"well then, my wife is in pain, i must say yes to that." jay carries you as he speaks. he smiles. somehow it gives you peace you didn't ask for. jay always thinks that your eyes are your charm. those teary eyes couldn't be more beautiful

he sat you down on the cream couch you both bought two months ago. not taking too long, your sole filled with bandages and a pretty black ribbon. jay said it'll be prettier if we decorate it a bit, and it's indeed—pretty.

"jongseong," you say, even though your throat hurt like hell. "yes, darling." oh what a sweet voice. "don't call me miss," a look of confusion appears in front of you. "huh?" jay giggles. prettiest laugh you've ever heard.

"okay okay, then—

11. honeymoon

The luxurious room is dark and mostly quiet, only the pitter-patter of rain drops hitting the windows echo in the space. It's strangely calming, almost like mother nature's own lullaby but Yn can't sleep, though unlike other sleepless nights, this time it doesn't bother him. With his head on Jay's chest, he feels content.

Never in his life has Yn thought he'll end up like this. In a happy marriage. A fake one, but happy nonetheless.

"What are you thinking about, angel?" Jay asks softly, bringing Yn out of his thoughts.

"Nothing really. Just how lucky I am."

Jay smiles and gently pats the top of Yn's head.

"Not as lucky as I am."

"No, I mean it. I was convinced my love life would be just jumping from one abusive asshole to another."

"Why?" Jay asks, souding genuinely surprised.

"You know what they say, 'we accept the love we think we deserve.'"

"And you think you deserve abusers?" Jay challenges.

"Well no, I just don't think I'm all that lovable."

"You are."

Yn scoffs jokingly in response, but decides to not start an argument. Jay, however, is not done talking.

"If you weren't, I wouldn't be in love with you almost my entire life."

"Huh?" Yn breathes as he raises his head to look at Jay who meets his eyes.

"I was hoping that maybe living in America would help me get over you, but no. No matter who I dated or hooked up with, I just couldn't forget you." He confesses suddenly and with an awfully casual tone.

Yn opens his mouth to speak but Jay shushes him with his finger pressed to Yn's lips.

"You don't have to feel the same way, I never expected you to. Just let me love you. Let me take care of you. Don't leave me. Can you do that for me?"

Yn can only nod, his mind in shambles. Jay smiles and pulls him back into his chest.

"Thank you."

So I’ve finally got some of my thoughts on the new season in order and letting my self sit on it for a while

Dragons rising season 2 spoilers!!!!!

So first off holy shit this season has managed to completely wipe out any fears I had for season two. I’m a generally anxious person and am pretty naturally pessimistic about most things and was pretty anxious about season 2 because from the stuff shown in trailers and promotional vids it looked like a “Lloyd chosen one” plot line and I have a history of hating that kinda thing because it’s been beaten to death in ninjago at this point. While a bit of that was there I found it was done quite tastefully and didn’t overwhelm everything else story wise.

I felt that the pacing of the first 6-7ish episodes was a bit all over the place. Having the training arc and the Cole-Zane plot lines happen in the same episode with the pov switching back in forth felt a little bit off to me.

Sora and arins character arcs are shaping up to be pretty good. Soras more confident in her self than season one and she’s trying to help Arin but I feel like the whole using her elemental power to help Arin will backfire into her face. Arin’s insecurity and the whole how can I be useful if I don’t have an element I fell is being handled way better than the dumb kai arc in season 11(dw I will get to that when I get to kai) and it’s about on par with the Lloyd powerless plot from hunted. I am really excited to see what they do next and if Arin will be really mad at sora or not cuz like he’s super nice and stuff and I fell like he would be sad instead of mad.

Nya didn’t really have a lot going on personally except the stuff with Jay which I’m iffy on because so much of Nyas character in older seasons revolved around Jay and I just hope they don’t go back to that and let her character breath a bit.

In the topic of Jay I really really REALLY hope he isn’t evil. That the idea because it’s really out of character and they are already pushing my buttons with the lost memory crap because that’s something that I’ve rarely seen done well at all and it makes me very nervous and I just don’t like it. I do like that Jay just seems to be a guy who hates his job tho that’s fun.

I think the writers are just having fun with Zane and I think that’s cool. I do wanna punch the administration guy who said Zane isn’t a person because he is and he’s a bean and I will not allow this nobody to slander him.

It was nice to see more of Cole this season. I swear him and geo are so cute. The hand holding and the fact that they basically adopted two kids together is amazing and I am fully on board for this ship.

The villans were really interesting. I hope they keep up the quality with them because the mystery of ras’ master and wtf happened with jordana is really exciting. Cinder was intresting and as someone who has no interest in men what so ever I am kinda baffled at why so many people want this man but hey you do you. I do wonder what happened to ash tho. The member of the forbidden five looks interesting too and part of me is hoping that the leaked “evil jay” minifig is actually this guy just powered up cuz the color palette is similar enough and I just don’t want an evil jay.

Wyldfyre is amazing her whole leg being broken then sneaking on the ship to the exasperation of kai (like he would totally have pulled something like this a few seasons ago the hypocrite <3) and the others was so good. I am curious about her talk with egalt she mentioned one of her family members getting the wasting sickness but it can’t be heat wave cuz he seems fine so maybe she had more than one dragon guardian??? I do hope that Kai’s portal abduction does affected going into part 2 and that she bonds with nya and the others over it.

Egalt and rontu were very interesting to me and I’m glad they didn’t go the route of them being the actual creators of spinjitzu and kept the lore consistent I was slightly worried about that. Hope they come back in part 2 too.

Bonzle was a big surprise for me. I likes her personality in season 1 but I didn’t expect her to be so important. She’s really sweet and the scene with wu was great too.

And finally last but definitely not least, the best character in this entire show and my favorite comfort character to beat the shit out of

KAI

IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD. I LITERALLY HAVE NOT BEEN THIS HAPPY WITH AN EPISODE SINCE SEASON 4 EPISODE 7 THE FORGOTTEN ELEMENT (iykyk) I was literately kicking my feet like a little girl and crying and screaming my head off to the point I woke up other family members. Him unlocking the rising dragon technique by having his sister help and being in harmony with his family is so fucking sweet and I cried like a little bitch it was so good. I am also so happy that they used his old hair and didn’t just slap a smaller version of his current hair onto him (tho I kinda wish they had used the fucked up custom hair that was in the older episodes but I doubt that model is even in their hands so whatever(side side note I love the fucked up hair so much it’s so stupid I love it and will forever miss it)) him being such a dad to wyld fire was so sweet and then using the rising dragon technique after he saw his family in danger was just perfect. I do kinda wish there was more of a dramatic reaction to him getting yeeted by ras into the portal (kinda like any of the other ninja “deaths/major injuries”) but im fine with what we got. Except I kinda hate that only nya has an outward reaction in the aftermath. No lloyd reaction no Cole reaction and nothing from Zane and it makes me mad because every other time a ninja had their moment there was a whole team reaction. But I’m feeling like that’s to nitpicky and there’s still ten more episodes to fix that so fingers crossed. But kai also encouraging bonzle to close the portal even if he’s trapped inside is such a kai thing and hit me like a truck. Also him calling bonzle kid dispite her being much much older than him is funny and sweet cuz Kai’s big brother/father figure side is coming through and it’s so sweet. And the ninja never quit line is so great I was sobbing even more after that. (Tho I don’t know why he said he got it from Lloyd when it would have made more sense to have it be from master wu cuz that’s where he learned it but eh whatever).

While im really happy about kai finally getting some well deserved angst im also very anxious about it too. This could be the perfect opportunity for the writers to just conveniently forget about him for a while and idk if i could sit through that. Kai is a huge part of why I watch ninjago and he’s always been handed the shortest stick character development wise and technically he never got his own focus season either (and no i dont count the pilots because that focused mainly on all the ninja and was only two episodes, i also don’t count season four because it was more a group season, and season 11 doesn’t count because he got a half baked b plot that sucked) I’m very worried that I will loose enjoyment in the show because I dropped the show out of disappointment after season 11 because A LOT of premonitional material made it seem like a kai season and I got my hopes up and was let down so much. I’m very cautious when getting excited about things involving kai in particular because of that and I’m just hoping the writers don’t fuck it up.

Ok that’s enough negativity for once. I’m so excited for more and am foaming at the mouth for more!

Honestly he probably tries to get you mad again at least once

He wouldn't want it directed at him, of course, so he'd come up with some crazy scheme to get you mad at one of the other ninjas

And of course it totally backfires and you end up blowing up at him

And then he never messes with you again

(dw, he came clean about the plan and you guys talked it out)

You think it's kind of funny that he's attracted to your "demon mode"

One time you winked at him after absolutely DESTROYING someone in battle, and he just. exploded.

Like, he actually burst into flames.

You, being the sweetheart that you are, rushed to his side to make sure he was okay, and you never did it again

Jay

Jay has a thing for girls that could kill him I think

So while he thought you were pretty cute, he really only fell in love with you when he saw you mad for the first time

He was honestly less terrified and more enamored

In that moment he decided two things:

One, that he'd never make you mad (on purpose) because he would actually die

And two, that he had to make you fall in love with him

He definitely pulls the "My girlfriend could totally beat you up!!" card when he's in trouble

And if his enemies see you, of course they just laugh

But they're not laughing when they're in a pile on the floor, bruised like peaches put through a drying machine

Meanwhile you and Jay are just skipping away, hand in hand, like two giddy schoolkids

He always reminds you how cool you are too

"That was awesome, Y/n! You're so cool... <3"

Cole

He finds your duality interesting

He loves your cute side, especially when you're being all affectionate with each other

Getting all fluffy with you is definitely one of his favorite pass-times

But he also totally respects your tough side

He learns pretty quick to get out of your way when you're mad, especially in battle

He'll just get all quiet and take a few steps back, whispering to the other ninjas to do the same

Ever since you first got mad in front of him he knew this was necessary if he didn't want to get blended like a smoothie

He likes keeping your dangerous side secret; he loves the dumbfounded looks on peoples' faces when they see you mad

And when they give him the "did you know about this??" look, he just nods with a smirk

It's an expression that seems to say "yep, that's my girlfriend. she is insane and I love her."

And when you start to cool down, he'll approach carefully to check if you're okay (emotionally and physically)

If you're hurt, bandaging you up is a good excuse reason for Cole to be by your side while you try to relax

Zane

Zane is truly terrified of you

He loves you, but he has a deeply internalized vow to never tick you off

He was shocked to silence the first time he saw you mad, and he couldn't speak for a long time after either

You eventually had to ask him if something was wrong, and he just stared at you

"Does that... happen a lot?"

You laugh sheepishly, reassuring him that you weren't like that all the time

The sweetness of your voice puts him at ease

Your bubbly personality always manages to calm him when he gets scared of you

After a while he doesn't get scared as often; he just stays out of your way (advising others to do the same) and looks forward to seeing your cute smile again :)

And he even starts to appreciate your tough side, especially if/when you prove yourself useful on missions

He'll just watch you silently, at once grateful for and fearful of your rampage

Lloyd

He finds your stark two-sidedness somewhat alarming

Especially because he thinks he's good at reading people; when he first met you, he was certain that you were just this sweet girl

And then when he saw you mad, his mind was blown

He felt like he didn't know you at all

But, if anything, that was just motivation for him to actually get to know you

He loves all the intricacies of both of your sides

Your cute side he loves because he can get all soft and cuddly with you :)

And your harsh side he loves because you know how to stand up for yourself, and you certainly know how to get what you want

He's usually the first one at your side when you start to calm down

He'll be beaming with pride but trying to speed up your cooldown at the same time

He'll tell you that it's all right now, and you can relax

And then he'll kiss your cheek, smiling when you switch back to your sweet side and kiss him back

You and Sunghoon had known about each other long before you’d met, let alone got together. Well, known about each other might be a bit of an understatement - you both had huge crushes on the other in high school but, of course, had never considered that your feelings might be reciprocated. Sunghoon was the handsome figure skater whose good looks everyone gushed over, but because of his shyness, not many had the privilege of calling him a friend. You, on the other hand, were the captain of your school’s beloved soccer team. and were popular among the student body for your outgoing and friendly personality. You definitely weren’t blind to Sunghoon’s good looks, and you not only admired his grace and elegance on ice but also envied his small friend group and apparent lowkeyness. Little did you know how cool Sunghoon thought you looked leading your team on the field and how he wished he could befriend people as easily as you. Grass is always greener on the other side, as they say, and you and Sunghoon were both jealous and admiring the flowers in the other’s garden. It wasn’t until later that you met again, when you started attending the same sports university. Jay is usually an extremely patient man, but even he gets tired of waiting for you to recognize his feelings for you sometimes. Most of the time, he’s happy to essentially treat you like he’s your boyfriend without the actual label. Cooking you your favorite meals, picking up coffee and a pastry for you in the morning, carrying your bag for you, tucking your hair behind your ear - you name it, he’ll do it. You just think he’s a really sweet and caring friend, while he wonders when you’re going to realize he’s hopelessly in love with you. If you were anyone else, he’d have no problem straight up asking you out, but because you’ve been friends for so long, he’s afraid of making you uncomfortable or of risking your friendship. So he does what any other normal, sane person would do, and decides to become your secret admirer. If he’s too scared to confess his feelings to you, his anonymous alter ego isn’t. Over the next few weeks, he slips love notes or song lyrics that remind him of you in your bag and places snacks on your table before you get to class, all while he gets to watch your reactions and your growing fondness for this “secret” admirer. He’s filled with pride every time a wide smile blooms on your lips as you read his notes, every time he catches you listening to a song recommendation of his, and every time you gush about your admirer or wonder who he is, not knowing he’s right in front of you, looking at you with nothing but affection in his eyes. After a little under a month, he writes a time and place for you to come meet him on the note he sneaks in your bag. The way your expression as your eyes find Jay goes from giddy, to confused, to disbelieving, to giddy again is absolutely priceless, and Jay stands there through your stages of realization, watching you with a wide grin on his lips and a bouquet in his hands. It all makes sense now - his attention to you over the years, the way your secret admirer seemed to know exactly what you liked. After he confesses, you tell him you might need some time to transition from your friendship into a relationship, but let’s be honest, your feelings for him only need mere days to grow - and you now realize that they might have always been there, waiting for you to notice them.

Your first encounter with Jake may be described as ‘right person, wrong time.’ It was halfway through your first year of college - you’d just gotten dumped by your high school boyfriend who you’d been dating for three years and had had to go long-distance with, while Jake had just found out his girlfriend, whom he’d started dating in the first week of college, had been cheating on him basically the whole of their relationship. Let’s just say that when you went to a party organized by the student association of your department, neither of you were in a great place. He’d found you by the counter of the bar that had been rented out, downing a shot of tequila on your lonesome. By that time, you were already so wasted that the memories of him coming up to you, hitting you with some random one-liner and ordering a drink of his own were fuzzy. You’d kept on drinking with him as you told each other about your recent heartbreaks, so you could not at all recollect those moments - but getting into an Uber with him was somewhat clearer. It wasn’t until the next day, when you woke up with a terrible headache naked in his bed, that you realized what you’d done. Jake was still completely passed out, and you managed to dress and slip out of his room without waking him up. Thankfully, you were part of a big department in a big university, so you only very scarcely ran into each other after that. Having no classes and barely any friends in common meant that the only times you saw him after your one-night stand were from afar at the library or at a club every now and then. You’d exchange a quick hi, maybe some small talk, but nothing more than that. You did wonder about him sometimes - what it’d have been like if you hadn’t met when your mutual breakups weren’t so fresh, what might’ve happened had you not left so sneakily in the morning, how he’d react if you approached him once more and actually talked to him. Then, in your third year, not only do you share a class, but your professor also partners you up for the whole semester. It doesn’t take long for you to realize that you and Jake have more in common than having gone through a bad breakup in your first year of university, and you hit it off. You really hit it off. He makes you laugh, and he takes the uni work you have to do seriously, and obviously, he’s very good-looking. A few dates later, you realize how thankful you are for meeting the right person again - and now at the right time, too.

Had luck been on your side, you and Jungwon could have fallen in love much earlier than you did. You’d met at the Arts & Crafts club of your university, of all places. Between assignments, attending class, having a decent social life, and worrying about the amount of instant ramen you’d consumed that week, activities like scrapbooking or knitting were a welcome addition to your life. It let you turn your mind off for a while and just focus on making something pretty, or at least fun, for a while. When you found out your university had a club for it, you immediately joined - you’d have access to more supplies and could befriend people with the same hobby as you. Your first time there, your eyes immediately settled on a broad-shouldered boy at the end of the table that seemed very focused on gluing bits of paper to a beat-up notebook. What caught your attention was how familiar he looked - not like you met a long time ago, but like you’d seen him around a few times. You’re not sure what it is, all you know is that you find yourself walking across the room and taking the seat right in front of him. He looks up as you sit down, and his dimpled smile immediately makes your heart skip a beat. That first day, you just make small talk, asking the other about their courses and showing each other your progress on whatever art you’re crafting. But now that you know him, it feels like you see him everywhere - in the campus café, at the library, in line at the grocery store, it’s like you can’t escape him anymore. Not that you’d want to, anyway. You’re always happy to run into him, but the best part is that he seems to feel the same way, if his wave and wide grin upon seeing you are anything to go by. On one of those days where you randomly run into each other, he grabs his courage with two hands and asks you if you’d like to get coffee with him - you accept right away, of course. It’s this rainy afternoon, as you sit in a cozy café with a warm cappuccino in your hands, that you find out why Jungwon had looked so familiar the first day. You had lived in the same town, one where it was unlikely you’d know everyone but possible to run into anyone, had attended the same middle school, and even when he’d moved away for high school, you’d kept mutual friends, which meant that you had attended the same wild parties of more than sixty people. You’d lived in the same uni dorm in your first year, so you’d probably seen each other in the laundry room or during fire alarm tests. Even crazier, your parents had had the same vacation spot for years, and when you were fifteen you’d actually been there at the same time. You searched through your gallery and found pictures taken at the same place, mere hours apart. And yet, it was only at the Arts and Crafts club that you finally met. If you didn’t believe in soulmates before, meeting Jungwon had surely convinced you of the opposite.

We don’t talk about the potential Pixal and Morro relationship enough.

Especially in resurrected AU’s. Like bro this guy was evil and came back and was most likely forced (probably weirdly unwillingly by the ninja themselves too, its a complicated situation when its these lot) to join the ninja and help them, and probably feels really out of place both situation wise and body wise, and Pixal understands.

Like I’m not saying she’ll immediately like him, in fact she’d probably hate him in a detached way (like how we dislike characters in a show, but if that person was irl in front of you and you were there to witness and experience what they had done, you’d hate them (and i mean HATE) kinda thing) but she’ll sympathise with him because she was a ‘bad guy’ who was under the control of an evil guy that made her super evil, was stuck as an ai in a computer for ages and forced herself back into a strange body, and probably felt out of place at first too. Not to mention they both died (‘died’ for Pixal) in a dark cave, Pixal at Chen’s place and Morro in the Caves of despair.

These two have similarities that they would bond upon, except Morro is stubborn and emo, and Pixal is stubborn too but shes not emo and if shes the only one who can help Morro without triggering trauma then dammit shes gonna do it because Zane and Lloyd rubbed off on her.

Heres what i imagine would actually happen:

Pixal who comforts Morro once because she felt bad and sympathetic and has a meaningful conversation of change and growth with Morro who honestly found it weird and unwillingly appreciated it, proceeds to then bully Morro after asking Wu the best way to get motivate Morro every chance she gets. And she quickly learns that its effective.

If she told Morro that he was being a loser for not at the least trying to eat, he begins trying to eat at least two meals a day, even if its something small.

If she told him that he stinks worse then Jay after he finally finishes a project he’s running to that shower no matter what instinctual fear he has to it. (He has no idea how Jay smells after finishing a project)

If she says thats he’s an idiot for passing out, and casually says “Maybe if you drank water, you’d actually be fine like the rest of us.” And he’s chugging a bottle as fast as he can once a day.

Bro like it wouldn’t motivate him to push his limits but it would motivate him to do the bare minimum and she loves it.

Eventually they become two siblings bickering and it’s hilarious. Zane now has two brother in laws (Morro and Cryptor)

Everyone was having fun, with the return of their dear friend Leia Forman.

I had about five beers so far as I was beginning to feel tipsy. I was leaning on Jay as I was giggling. My fingers were in his hair as he tried to pull me off him.

I frowned as I grabbed onto his toned arms. I look over and see Leia staring at us and I could see his brows furrow in annoyance.

Jay pushes me away from him as I followed him to the couch. He sat at the end, as I plopped myself close to him. My butt was seated on the leg of the couch with my legs over his lap. My hands continued to play with his hair as my boobs were basically in his face.

I leaned down, trying to kiss Jay, but he pushed my face the other way. I bit my lip as I was hurt. But I knew he didn't want anyone to know we're together, but he never asked me how I felt.

I saw the look of jealousy on Leia, which caused me to smirk. I knew he didn't show much affection because Leia was in the picture again. This was the perfect timing for me to be my petty self and show them that Jay Kelso was taken.

"You look really hot tonight." I kiss his hair as I twist my finger in his hair.

Jay didn't respond, giving me the cold shoulder.

"Are you two dating?" Grace was the first to speak.

"Yes." "No." We say at the same time.

Jay slaps my leg, while he gives me a warning look.

"No, God no!" He crawled up to me, placing my head on his broad chest.

I sobbed again, burying my face deeper. I slapped his chest weakly a few times.

"Then why can't you admit that you love me! You only do it behind closed doors, yet you can't say around our friends!" I growled growing even more frustrated with the young Kelso.

Jay grabbed my hand, yanking me with him to the basement. My heart was in my throat. It felt like I was going to barf. My head was spinning, and my hands felt clammy as I knew where he was taking us.

I gulped as Jay slammed the door opened.

Mafia Au

So I am basing this idea on the fic "Garbage Business" from @aeroargonic (thank you Aero for permission), go read it please! it really inspired me, and it's not a super long read dw

Putting this under a cut since it's very long

Anyway, so disclaimer: I have no clue how the mafia works beyond a cursory google search, so if it doesn't work out that way in real life, uhh Ninjago is different from IRL

Also, trigger warnings (nothing explicitly stated): mature content, violence, dubcon, abuse, miscommunication, murder

Basic Idea:

Shade Pathis-Oppenheimer, a "mafia prince", is the younger half-siblings of Neuro Pathis, the head of a very powerful mafia gang, is an expert in keeping secrets. Most assume the secrets Shade knows are mostly comprised of the various crimes of those working under Neuro.

But that's not all. There's also the fact that Shade is having all these weird inhuman traits pop up, like the irresistible urge to hoard any and all shiny things or make a nest in under the bed or being able to disappear into the shadows completely.

It's the fact that "brother" and "boy" don't fit like they used to, and that Shade would prefer to be called Neuro's "little sister".

It's the fact that Shade's dating three people, one of whom is the child of another mafia boss and the other two are basically nobodies she met at school.

While these might not get her arrested, they could get her disowned. So...time to brush up on her lying skills and hope Neuro, or anyone who works with him, doesn't catch on.

TLDR:

Shade's secretly a trans girl, in a poly relationship with Tox/Kai/Skylor, and has an elemental power without knowing it + phantom traits (both of them are from her mom, who is not Neuro's mom). All of which Neuro doesn't know shit about it.

Neuro and Shade are related by their dad, who is the former mafia boss

Griffin and Karlof work with Neuro, with Karlof as the muscle and Griffin as a sort of righthand man. Griffin gets a bunch of annoying jobs

The story will be told through a bunch of connected fics, mostly cause a long-fic would be so annoying to write tbh, and it would be harder to write different character's perspectives of some incidents

Zane works for the mafia as a back-alley doctor, who gets paid in bones for bone weapons when the mafia kills people

The ninja all are go to high school, and are at varying degrees of awareness of Kai's relationship with the other three

Nya and Jay don't trust the other two at all while Lloyd and Cole are indifferent/give them the benefit of the doubt

A lot of this au is basically "Shade and Neuro, due to a large age gap and Shade's fear of disappointing Neuro and Neuro thinking Shade would ask for help, are bad at communication"

Neuro's like late 20s (25+), and became the head of the mafia about 2 years earlier, since their dad is getting older and wanted to travel the world and was honestly not doing well due to losing his wife (Shade's mom)

Shade, who doesn't talk with Neuro all that much, thinks that they're telling the truth and lets them do a bunch of shit to her, like send an escort to her in the middle of the night, stealing her stuff and making her watch them burn it

Don't worry, Neuro does catch them and that sets off a bunch of conversations

De-Aging Fic where so much about Shade gets revealed

Basically Shade gets turned into a kid (like 8-11) and Neuro learns about the kid he basically never saw since he was out at college when Shade was 7-14

Their dad makes an appearance! And Shade actually communicates a lot of stuff about being a girl to him

What it says on the tin: Shade goes into heat basically

For this au, heat is more about being very clingy and over possessive of personal belongings and wanting to nest than anything

Also a phantom's scent is very strong and can't really be hidden

Shade gets them every other month or something, and pretends to be sick for the duration of the heat, with Zane being the only one to know (because Zane does not give a shit lmao)

But then one time Neuro decides to check on Shade and whoops, now she has to explain shit to Neuro

Who is Jon Kent? And why do you like him? (Is it rude to ask that? I just want to know)

Hi Nonnie! Oh dw it's not rude to ask at all!! Always happy to rant about Jon.

So Jon Kent(full name Jonathan Samuel Kent) is the son of Superman and Lois Lane. He is currently Superman, and shares the title with his dad Clark, and Kong Kenan. He's 17-18 years old and he's my precious blorbo ;_;

Okay reasons I like him:

I relate to his experience of being bisexual and his journey with it: So Jon's bi, the news articles about a 'queer superman' is what made me read his comics because I was just so happy and intrigued by it. Jon's bisexuality isn't a central focus, he doesn't have any denial about it, or have some moment where it clicks and he has a crisis about it. Jon's very casual about it, he knows he's bi. He's more scared about how people will perceive it rather than have any personal difficulties with it. And that realy resonated with me because when I figured out I was bi/pan/queer something, I didn't panic, I didn't go "oh no no no", I just went "huh, okay" and existed like that. A lot of queer characters are about queer pain, so seeing Jon just be bisexual and that being the least of his worries was nice to see.

He always tries his best to learn and be better: Jon never assumes that he's got the solutions, or that he's got a sure-fire way of doing things. He's constantly asking people for guidance, letting others explain their POV and later, he gives his viewpoint. He only goes "no fuck you" when he's got all the information required. Like he's so careful, and he learns on his own and from people around him. - So he's like, a superpowered near god-like being. But his main mentor is Nightwing- a regular human vigilante. He goes to him to learn to contain his powers & be better at investigating. - His first major storyline is him helping save a country from a dictator, and the movement was first led by his boyfriend, Jay Nakamura. Jon joins later. So he always lets Jay take the lead on it because Jay has told him Superman can't fix everything and he should be about empowering people rather than coming down on people like he knows everything. - His go-to for advice isn't Clark Kent, the og Superman, but his mom- Lois Lane who's an expert journalist. His closest, most trusted circles are all regular non-powered people who influence the world in their own way.

He's accidentally funny as fuck: Like he doesn't TRY to make jokes, but he says and does shit that just makes me laugh at him. Eg: He's always talking about how he 'listens to all perspectives and doesn't start fighting unless he's heard all side'. BUT. His one exception, is BATMAN. And this is because Batman once kind of suggested "hey your boyfriend is shady as fuck I think he's part of a terrorist organization can you check that?" and JON LOSES IT. Ever since then, he's had some petty ass grudge against Batman. Which is horrible because Batman is practically his uncle and family. This goes to the point he gives LEX LUTHOR a chance over Batman. Also, he really, really tries to be all calm and collected and rational but so far I think he's kidnapped a senator, gotten jailed, barged into a foreign president's home, barged into Lex's place and with like minimal evidence went 'Idk wtf you did wrong or why or how- but I know it's you'

He's annoying: He mastered chess in 8 seconds, he knows all the rules, he's good enough to beat Lex Luthor, considered the smartest man on the planet. But just to piss off Lex, he acts all innocent WHILE BEATING HIM and goes "see? My horsey took your piece". Like said 'horsey' as if he doesn't know tf a Knight is. Also literally any time he talks about Batman, he says the most sarcastic, dry shit ever. "Anger issues stuffed into a bat suit" is my personal fave.

He's a sweetheart!!! A kid called him a clown and he just, played along with it. He gave his boyfriend a ring that can make him fly. He heats up his mom's coffee in secret when she's swamped with work and helps his grandma bake pie! In his free time he helps replant forests ;_;

His daddy issues compel me: Okay so Jon.....to succinctly put- got trapped in an alternate universe where he was basically tortured by an AU version of his dad for about half a decade. When he returned, due to space-time shenanigans, 6 yrs for him was 3 weeks in his original world. His main tormentor wore his dad's face and he missed out on all his childhood. People were waiting for a 10 yr old version of him but he's 17-18 and people have a hard time digesting that. Jon suppresses the crap out of his issues. He never talks about it. The one time he does, he's extremely vague. He's hurt by his father not giving him the same kind of attention, by his parents so clearly missing the old him, but he never complains about it. Instead, he tries to fit around their expectations which is heartbreaking. Like reading about it is very fun for me.

He's just really fun to read about idk if my Jon propaganda is working XDXD
