Honestly the whole situation is just proof how parasocial people are with celebrities they don’t know, and especially white men: i’ve seen those kind behaviors in so much other ships

Like, they could’ve just said “that’s weird, she shouldn’t have said that” and go on with their days but no, they had to criticize her career, her character and her relationship with her husband, publicly on the internet ? It’s like they were waiting for a reason to dislike her.

Bc let’s face it, most of chenford fans on twitter hide behind this ship when actually they’re shipping the actors together and secretly want them to end up together, but at the end, they’re just making awkward for everybody.

The problem is not that people are offended about some things Ros said in the podcast, which can be totally valid, the problem is that they’re trying to act like Eric is some victim trapped in his marriage: when he disagree with his wife, he says it openly, that’s how a marriage actually work, and if there some issues in their marriage, that is absolutely not our business.

We don’t know what happens behind doors and they been married for almost 2 decades, we don’t know how their dynamic as a couple is, and they tend to forget that they don’t actually know this man : if her behavior was really bothering him, he would’ve left years ago, there is not need to babying a 48 year old man.

He knows who he married, he has free will.

And let’s not get started on how they using all of this as an opportunity to pit against each other his wife and his coworker/friend, like he’s some trophy: it’s truly pathetic

Nobody is forcing them to like his wife, but if it affects his work and how he interacts publicly with Mel, that would be entirely their fault bc trust that if he has to choose between his marriage and his work, he will absolutely choose his marriage, no matter how much he loves his job.

I really hope it doesn’t happen bc I really love chenford (I literally started the show bc I’ve seen clips of them on tik tok and thought that they had great chemistry), but stans are really it for all of us, just bc they don’t know how to behave like normal people over a fictional ship.

Also, notice the changes in eric's and especially ros's social media posts following this recent wave of criticism directed at Roselyn. On top of that, she's now with him in Miami at his Palm Republic M&Gs AND supposedly she'll be with him at the M&G in Paris too, where Mel is scheduled to be. She has completely valid reasons for being by her man but it's also a "back off my marriage!" power move. I've seen people hate her for being his plus one ... like??? I stg they only hate it b/c it ruins their delusion illusion of Meleric.

Is there a fandom word for a supporting character that is rarely if ever a topic for fandom but that you are absolutely obsessed with?

I'm not talking about a glup shitto. I mean a character that everyone knows about but who isn't really anyone's favorite character. Fics centered on them are rare and ones that actually explore them in an interesting way are even rarer. No one really kins them or draws them. No one brings them up outside of discussing other characters.

Yeah, whatever that is.

But then...

A piece of media comes out that heavily features that character... and people finally talk about them.... you are in heaven for a few short months... and then it goes back to how it was.

Oh, sure, maybe there will be more people who like that character now. Maybe there will be an uptick in fics that give you a small backlog to read. Maybe you'll even get a nice catalog of fanart that will fuel your imagination for a little while.

But no matter what; that character won't get as much attention as you think they deserve.

Anyway that's how I feel about Count Fanon-first-name-Yan Dooku.

the thing about william i really like is that the man is a fucking coward. serial killers notoriously target vulnerable people and he fits that to a T. he targets kids, he targets his employees, he targets his own children. he knows that the only people who would take a night shift at freddy's are people who don't have a better option, random people who've hit hard enough times that they need this paycheck that bad. he knows that kids are easy to isolate and there's no chance of them overpowering him. he knows that his children are legally his property.

he only targets people who can't fight back, too, and if he's worried about someone being able to he kills them indirectly. he kills employees through inaction, maybe doesn't even do it for a reason other than it being something he is allowed to do because they signed a contract saying that their families, if they have any, won't even know they're dead for three months. he can't even kill michael in person because michael is an adult now. he might be able to hit him back. he's not a little kid anymore who he can punish for locking his door knowing that he's too small to defend himself. the only people he ever kills directly are kids younger than eleven, and after he almost gets caught the first time he makes robots to do it for him.

which is what lets him succeed. it's why he gets away with it for so long. none of his victims survive(except jeremy, who is left unable to tell anyone even if he figured it out), and none of them have people left who can fight a successful businessman with lawyers on his side(which they must have if he was allowed to keep opening new locations after every single one of them had to close on account of child murder).

but it's also what ultimately kills him. he went back to the scene of the crime, and the ghosts were there, and he was so, so scared of getting hit back this one time that he freaked out and put on the springlock suit in a desperate attempt to regain his position of complete power. despite being the man behind the slaughter, he's just... that scared of a fair fight.

I must admit I'm getting this horrible image in my head of Tarn as that type of creepy guy who donates way too much money to a streamer and then absolutely loses it when he hears they're not single.

That's probably accurate lol. Although unlike (seemingly) most people in this fandom, I blame Megatron more for turning Tarn into that kind of obsessed freak than I do Tarn for being a freak. I mean, my view is basically "you reap what you sow/the monster you created turned around and bit you" so I don't really have sympathy for Megatron with regards to Tarn showing up and ruining his life lol. I actually really like the DJD coming in MTMTE as basically the living embodiment of karma and Megatron's comeuppance about not being able to run away from/ignore his past.

Like blah blah "no matter how sad your backstory is you're still responsible for your own actions" but also Megatron is literally 100% the reason Tarn is Like That, and Megatron also used parasocial manipulation, propaganda, and his grandiose personality to manipulate the Decepticons into worshipping/following him without question. So like. It's fiction, I don't have to be all "well they're all problematic" I can just be like "lol, lmao even" and point and laugh as Megatron gets fucked up by Tarn and the DJD because he can't talk his way out of this problem.
