Jin: Honestly, I could see this kind of personality being a pretty good match for him! He has his quieter and introverted sides, so he’d understand your need/preference towards quiet or alone time, and I think he’d have a lot of fun trying to crack your cool outer appearance with his goofy humor.

Yoongi: He’s a bit of a black cat personality himself, so I think you’d be able to understand each other really well! You could both be your most snarky and sarcastic versions of yourselves, without fear of the other person misunderstanding you, and knowing how to find your secret soft sides. 

Hobi: The golden retriever boyfriend that every black cat needs, lol! Like he’s besties with Yoongi, so you know he’s well suited with this sort of personality. I feel like y’all would have full conversations through eyes squints/rolls/etc, lol.

Namjoon: I think he’d get along really well with a black cat personality(imo, he gives goofy tabby vibes, so I think you’d be more alike than he’d realize at first, lol) He’d respect your need for your own space and independence, but he’s also ready to be there whenever you need more attention and support.

Jimin: I think you two would bicker a lot, but it’s almost like a love language for y’all, lol! His naturally sassy attitude would match with your sarcastic humor really well, and although he’s quite affectionate, he would understand your need for having space and time to yourself, making the times when you’re more open and vulnerable with him all the more special.

Taehyung: Tae I think would struggle the most initially with understanding your needs, as he’s a very physically affectionate person. Once y’all find that balance tho, you would work really well together. Similar to how Hobi brings out the brighter side of Yoongi’s personality, Tae would bring out yours, finding ways to draw you into his silliness sometimes and make you laugh. 

Jungkook: I think he would get along quite well with this personality type. Oh absolutely! I think they would have such a fun dynamic, sorry this took so long! Gonna try to chip away at my ask box, call it a New Year’s resolution lmao

Athena’s definitely (one of) his favorite out of all his nieces & nephews because she’s “more sensible” & easier to deal with. But I think he liked all of them more when they were younger & “cuter”

Poseidon prides himself on being the “fun” uncle because he knows Hades definitely won’t live up to that name. So he would give her (& the rest of them) cool ocean themed gifts & trinkets. But he would run around & chase them, pretending to be a sea monster that would eat them once he caught them. Really he would just scoop them up & blow raspberries until they screamed

He would help train Athena if she asked, & it was usually just an excuse to horse around. He would go easy on her, but still won most of the time, so he would tickle her to make sure she wasn’t too upset about losing

When she got older, he was a little disappointed that she didn’t spar with him as much, he enjoyed the company & it made him feel appreciated. Athena caught on, so she offered to spar “just like old times.” Well, he took that literally, & when he managed to pin her, he started tickling. She was honestly shocked that he even remembered that, but it warmed her heart because she doesn’t get to see that fun, goofy side of him as much anymore

He LOVES annoying the younger gods by using outdated or cringey slang, but Athena’s humor is ruined from spending so much time with Ody, so she will crack up as his lame jokes. That only encourages him even more & he’ll poke or scribble her sides to make her laugh even more

They were both in Apollo’s infirmary at the same time, so they definitely kept each other company by chatting & reliving old memories. & even tho he’s probably the worse for wear out of the two, he’s more concerned about her (& PISSED at Zeus) so when she started feeling better, he’s sit on her bed & give her comforting tickles along her forearms cause he knows that always comforted her

One of his favorite ways to tickle someone is by using his powers, so if Athena was splashing around in the ocean & he’s feeling a little mischievous, he’ll make a small current or bubble jet stream to swarm around her tickle spots until she’s a giggly mess (he does this if any of his nieces or nephews are in the water. Like it’s literally free real estate, they’re in his domain, & they never think twice about bothering HIM)

That’s all I got for now, but I absolutely love their dynamic now that I think about it! I am a firm believer in funcle Poseidon, he’s just so silly!

So, I've been watching/listening to TOS while I ink/color drawings lately...

Aaand I thought of a bunch of goofy things. I'm sure there are much better fits for these characters (other than Scotty!Tails- that's a given), but I just went with my first silly thoughts. And also characters I just like, so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- Tails as Scotty (will throw hands for his invention/ship's honor) - Blaze as Kirk (was really just thinking of her as a leader in general, but you know what... yeah. I can see it. Cool action hero. Random alien ladies all falling for her and everything- why not. xD) - Chao as Tribbles (they're cute silly things and uh... they also bud to reproduce, right? *knows nothing about chao*) - Eclipse as a secret Klingon (because I was going to make him Shadow, but-) - Shadow as Spock (it doesn't really fit, BUT they're both mixed species AND I originally had Sonic as the captain, sooo...) - Amy as Uhura (Amy is good at bringing people together, being in a leadership role, ect- so I feel like communications fits for her) - Kit as Bones (bro, there are like... no healer/medical type Sonic characters, unless I'm missing something...? So I just went with someone I like. Kit being a snarky lil turd is fun. Most everyone is a pointy-eared bastard, tho, sadly.) - Surge as the salt monster alien (pure silliness, slightly because of its connection to Kit's past so I could draw funni picture) - The Tornado as the Enterprise (eeeeeeh, sounds kinda weird as a name for a spaceship, but...)

Lastly, I quickly booted Sonic from being in Starfleet at all because... No way that free spirit would be enlisted in a uniformed organization. He's some freelance whatever doing his own thing. Maybe visits now and again to check on his lil bro and/or help out with something that aligns with his morals. Alas, lost the good ol' Kirk/Spock sonadow parallel, but oh well.

That’s a tricky one…

I’d say I more so have basic head cannons then full rewrites for MBAV. Here are some:

Ethan Morgan: His ancient ancestors who were seers developed as a weird cousin type strain whose powers developed from ancient vampires who could see glimpses of the future but slowly lost some of their vampire characteristics.

But they kept the typically pale skin, and anyone who got the domainate seer gene usually gets more years added on to their life. He can do all that jazz like in the show, and he’s very resilient to mind control or other things that disrupt the brain. ( I like to think If he was more evil he’d influence people more because seers can slightly influence people around them, think about Jasper from Twilight but for thoughts and not emotions… like a Jasper and Edward love child 💀) Ethan’s parents both had the recessive trait and his ancestory that Jessie recognized is from his mother’s side.

Ethan has a massive adoration for almost anyone who he finds to be “better” than him in all the right ways. Mainly Benny and Sarah. Benny because he’s always been by Ethan’s side with a big smile, and Sarah because she’s so sweet to everyone she knows, and becomes his really good friend. He still likes Rory but Rory’s too goofy to fall for that way( and too old) Also Jesse tortured him with the idea that his seer powers are the only thing making his friends like him by accidental influence. He knows that Ethan’s too stupid to realize that if that was the case then he would actually be popular. But Ethan angsts over that all the time. 😥

Benny Weir: Bennys magic is also a genealogical trait. It skipped his dad and went straight to him. But it’s not related to any other subspecies. ( also I don’t think Jane should get the seer trait and wizard trait, mostly because she’s literally awful, and as an oldest sibling the trope of younger sibling is an absolute rude jackass selfish nuisance is one I hate)

Bennys magic is the same as the show nothing more nothing less. But his Evil version is a reflection of something “wrong” inside of him rather then a basic evil opposite. Evil Benny is everything “wrong” with Benny reflected back into the world. He’s willing to do stuff Bennys only thought about in the recesses of his mind too. Like use really bad spells, and also maybe that’s why he’s more flirty with Ethan, maybe I dunno just a thought 🫣 but because of that that leads to EB being more of a presence to Benny. He’s always gotta think about when to pull back or what’s too far so his friends don’t look in the eyes of a remorseless monster. And you know also the whole trope of untapped raw power because you’re too righteous to use it or something.

Benny is an everybody man and a huge flirt. He may be a bit more popular than his other friends because of his charisma but he’s loyal to the weird gang tho, He loves Ethan and Rory and Sarah, in that order, that’s a direct quote from him. That’s because I can’t stand when tv shows cast charismatic and objectively cool people to play what’s supposed to be a loser that doesn’t get girls. No chance that Benny wouldn’t pull girls, it’s Rodrick Heffley all over again…

Rory Keaner: Rory is a massive goof ball and a silly goose. He loves hunting small mammals and prefers to steal blood from hospitals, “where it was just sitting there collecting dust!!” He doesn’t like actually hurting people and would prefer to do fun shit then be scary. I don’t have much to change for him because he’s perfect. EXCEPT THAT HES ALWAYS BEEN A VAMPIRE FOR HIS VERY LONG LIFE. But he’s not a creep like Jessie and just has goober fun with mortals (not in a rude way) He loves Benny and Ethan of course, but he’s kinda stupid cause he didn’t really pay attention to history and stuff. he was just goofin around, so like there’s funny hints to how old he is in like history museums where it’s just Rory in ancient art being goofy asl. Like in the mummy episode there would be a hieroglyphic of a blond man with shades like doing something goofy and Rory would be all like “ yooo what the flip! I remember that!!”

Sarah Fox: also unchanged, she had the most going for her so I think she’s also perfect. She’s got a weird thing for Ethan and Erica and it confuses her. But she’s kinda leaning towards Erica…. I dunnooooo 🫣

Erica Jones: I like how she’s not reallyyy freinds with anyone except Sarah, like that’s her bestie. She and Rory’s thing did not seem reciprocated so imma just say she and him are forced freinds because of the vampire thing and Rory’s like a super old one so she thinks she has to respect him more, but Rory’s literally so chill that they become good friends. She’s jealous of Ethan tho for reasons that should be obvious.

That’s all I have I don’t have as many ideas or references for MBAV like I do descendants. It’s honestly the same for other shows too like mighty med where I love the base show so much I dont really think it needs my brain activity :D

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ Ranking Ice Home

I hit the 7th book of Ice Home, and I want to start ranking them (the rankings will change as I make my way thru the series). I did a ranking for the og Ice Planet too. I love these books, they're so not serious. I read in the next book the couple resonances in a pterodactyl nest, and I don't know how else to explain it than these books are everything I've ever wanted to feel from reading fanfiction. Every time someone bashes these books, I think BAH.

(1) Veronica's Dragon (Veronica x Ashtar)—Yes, yes to all of this. Just yes. Ashtar my beloved.

(2) Lauren's Barbarian (Lauren x K'thar)—I love these two. It was like being taken back to Georgie and Vektal, but in a fun, inspired way.

(3) Mari's Mistake (Mari x T'chai)—This book was refreshing! Dixon went back to short and sweet with new elements added to the world. Plus Mari and T'chai's story is great, and the smut was better than it typically is.

(4) Penny's Protector—(Penny x S'bren) They were adorable and I loved their adventure together.

(5) Devi's Distraction (Devi x N'dek)—It was cool to see both N'Dek and Devi find a friendship and relationship where they felt understood at a fundamental level. Plus, I loved all the jealousy plots. I wish Dixon would have taken them further, but ik it's not really her style. I'm pining for the Bree-shit book fr tho. I want full on enemies to lovers for her and A'tam. All bc his dick is too big. They really are putting the entire tribe through it bc of A'tam's big ass dick. That's crazzzzy.

(6) Angie's Gladiator (Angie x Vordis)—Dixon is in the unique situation of bc they are aliens she can push the miscommunication trope pretty hard, and it technically still makes sense. I wasn't crazy about it, but I did love Vordis learning how to be his own person and Angie supporting him! And I thought it was sweet how Vordis and Thrand reconciled at the end. It was like putting a bow on top.

(7) Nadine's Champion (Nadine x Thrand)—This one is silly. Thrand's goofy, and the nest scene is goofy. It's fun, but a reminder of how unserious everything really is.

(8) Hannah's Hero—(Hannah x J'shel) Hannah was hard to like at first, but by the end I felt like I understood her. And she knew. She knew she was being difficult, but she was having a time, yk? J'shel is a sweetheart.

(9) Callie's Catastrophe—(Callie x M'tok) M'tok didn't learn a damn thing, but it's fine bc he has to endure Harry Potter references for the rest of his life.

(10) Willa's Beast (Willa x Gren)—Willa was hard to like bc it was difficult to be sympathetic toward her when her actions were apathetic toward everyone else. In an extreme way. It was like the only people she could feel anything for were her and Gren.

Okey but ahah- Yeah!!! Here's some of my faviort and just some good films! In no particular order :3 please enjoy!!!

1- Yellow Submarine: The best Beatles film in the history of ever'the most silly acid trip- great music and BLUUUUEEE MEAAANIESS-!!! I also genuinly love the look and art of the film its sooo weird- it definitely shapped my taste in art to this day :3 (this can also be watched free on the internet archive!! Yay!!)

2- Fantastic Mr Fox: Exactly as it sounds! A Mr fox who's fantastic! Guy wants to be a wild animal but has to conform to the social constructs of life even as a Fox...its genuinly also beautiful and I have a special spot in my heart for that film please give it a go!

3- The Adventures of TinTin: ITS TINTIN!!! I love him personally- and it's a silly film! Fun, Adventures, and wild shenanigans ensure with TinTin and Snow on the case with Captian Haddock! Please watch it- it's so insane and beautifully done and holds up so well- and I realllly love TinTin :3

4- Bill and Ted's Exallant Adventure!! It's everyone's favorite guys! The goofy duo! They're time traveling and need help for their history project dude! ....I love it- it was like an "I watched this trilogy at 2am help-" situation and I still love it- definitely watch it for a fun time!

5- D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers(1978 Russian film): Made for TV orginally and only really available with subtitles through YouTube in 3 or 4 parts- it's a gorgous silly wild film that's a wonderful adaptation AND A MUSICAL! It's so sweet to me tho I love it and it has that air of strange 70s Russian things- and it's just so cool PLEAASE watch it 🥺 i just...hope it's available in the UK for you-

6- Arsenic and Old Lace: Older film that's ABSOUTLY UNHINGED! A guy wants to go on his honeymoon with his bride to be at Niagra Falls! But his plans get foiled when he discovered a body in the window seat! His two sweet aunts who raised him have a horrible habit- and some insisted ensures with him in a lot of...wild way- it's so crazy and funny.

7- Pillow Talk: Cocky guy who can't stand the other end of his party line finds himself falling in love with her- includes! A doctor a nurse thinking he's a trans guy- and some genuinely silly? Gay jokes! (All things considered, it was like the later 50a and weirdly..well made- thank you Doris Day and Rock Hudson!)

8- Doc Hollywood: MJFOX IS SO SILLLY!!! Watch him fall inlove with a small town girl~ It's great film, I love it! (Also where the story line and chsrscters from Doctor Doctor come from :3) Its not like a typical too cheesy romcom- but it is very sweet and well..realistically but with a happy and fun ending!

9- Support your local sheriff! HES SO STUPID-!! I love him💕 Guy shows up in a literal lawless town for the gold rush- and becomes the sheriff due to needing money and for the fact he's s quick drawl! It's silly and fun!

10- My name is Nobody- SPEHGETTIE WESTERNS MY BELOVED!!!!! It's so insane, wild, slapstickish at times and fun! The music TO ME!! Is also PEAK in love it~ please watch it.

11- Stagecoach(1986 version): It has some of the best and genuinly good country music singers..staring in a silly but fun western- we got! Willie Nelson! Johnny Cash!! Waylon Jennings! And Kris Kristopherson!!!

12- Lonesome Dove: A gutwrenchingly beautiful and intense film about some men leaving their shit area in god-fuck-NOWHERE Texas/Mexico border, to start a cattle farm. Multiple small but important side plots (like..4?) But it's easy to follow and just its gritty but good it's like 4 hours (made for TV film) and so so good- warning for like SA tho- (a girl gets like groped and it's HEAVILY implied and nothing is outright shown she does say she was hurt and its again MESSY but such a good show- watch it if you want a long watch and to cry)

13- Identity: If you're interested in or like psychological thrillers! This one's insane! 5 people stuck at a motel and each get picked off one by one- it has an insane plot twist and is only sometimes...a bit murdery- really fun tho! I say fun its...that..yeah-!

14- 1408: another psychological thrillers!! I recommend this one it's like super..trippy too- and just fun! I love how unhinged John Cusack gets like when he's to a breaking point become MEEE FR!! AHAH!! MEEE!!!! Dissociation time babyy!! Yeaahoo! ALSO THE TWIST AT THE END! Fear warning you get different results depending on which one you watch- directors vs theatrical but still.. (Also didn't mean to put this one ON #14 but ah- fun!)

15- Session 9: another wild and insane ride! It has that air of "Guys filmed on the job-: or like just feel...insane and natural? You know? To me at least- it's insane and fucked up at times but so navigating and these guys also get picked off one by one and it's just...so wild- I really love the film!

16- House of 1,000 Corpses: IF YOU LIKE ROB ZOMBIE...Watch it! Or fucked up..mild gore- it's so weird and unhinged and insane like you might not like it- not everyone does! But it's so..fun and sometimes super super cheesy I like it! It's also got great music- (Rob Zombie-)

17- Dark City: Self Explanatory! (Weeping sobbing crying and wailing on my knees-) DANIEL!!! PLEAAASE DANILE HES SO CLUMSY PLEASE DANILE MY BABBYY!!!! It is however a very underrated film- made before the Mateix and they reused Dark Citys' set, and its so beautiful and creative and passion filled it's just amazing I love it so so much💕💕💕 but it's so...please like genuinely check it out-

18- Gross Point Blank: Martin Q. Blank is a hit man for hire- but more of an assassin deemed "Psychopath-" but don't call him that! He has feelings and only does the hits for money! Funny wild action film, I love it a lot! Also very sweet plot and fun music! Dan Ackroyd gets a TV shoved onto his head it's a WILD thing- and fun!

19- Donnie Darko: I... genuinely love this film- and weirdly relate to Donnie in an "Oh he's like me aha!" So that's gotta say something about me- but it's a touchingly beautiful and deep film I really do recommend it and see why people still enjoy it.

20- Grand Piano: Starring, Alex winter! Elijah wood! And John cusack! There's a pianist who's piano holding a massive fortucgin- and while at his first real recital in years he gets several assassination attempts! Murder and insisted ensures- also there's barely any talking it's mostly suspended and music but it's like SO GOOD please check it out.

21- The Thing: ....ITS THE THING!!! If you've not seen it! Do so! If you have- PLEASE REWATCH IT I LOVE KURT RUSSELL AS MACREADSY!! I GOT HIS SILLY ASS HAIR FJDGWH AHAHAH THE THIIING!!! The Thing could be anyone of us- even you..

22- An American Werewolf in London: ...Its weird and insane- and I love men who look sad and pathetic in the eyes- and it's also oddly gay please I love it- rewatch it or watch it- PLEASE-

23: One Crazy Summer- Okay it's a bit cringe, a bit secondhand embarrassment at times, BUT...Its so insane and goofy as fuck and I LOVE Hoops, he's like me! ....but not! (He's better than me I'm still scared of boats kinda....big..open water is terrifying to me ahdhsb ah-) Love Hoops and the premise of the film give it a go on a fuck off day! If you like- watch it with like Bill and Ted they're both out there goofy films.

24: Jack's Back- Wild...intense plot twisting film with amazing music- please like just go watch it pleaaase- PLEAAAASE!! It's like...young James Spader becomes an accidental detective its fun!

25: The January Man: Also a fun detective movie! I love everything about it, the way the solve the case, the vibes of it everything about it! It's labeled a "Thriller Comedy" and it definitely is! I love it a lot it's just...so wild and fun!

26: Stalag Luft- ...you ever seen or heard of the Britcom..Allo Allo? It's a ww2 based comedy about some French Cafe during the nazi occupation it's funny and insane to me- OKEY SO GET THAT....INSAIRY AND FUNNY!! But make it like a BUNCH of British (and one new Belanger and one Scottish guy) in a prisoners of war camp in Germany trying to escape and the Germans join them- they like lock them out and take over the camp??? And it's wild but funny to me- Stephen Fry is in it! AND HES SO SILLY AND STUPID I LOVE HIM UGHHH!!!!! Dumbass-💕 hes so stupid💕💕

27: Alice in Wonderlsnd- The disney..50s version- fact: this was my personalty for a long time I'm not kidding..I still love it-

28: The Truman Show: ...dare I say- it lives rent free in my mind- also I just like it its..odd but fun!

29: War Inc- ...Its not the best, or the worst! It has moments that I live and silly think about, and the rest is that cringe 2000s movie curse of second hand embarrassment at times- I like it tho! There's this insane scene with a beautiful song playing in three backgrounds and its STILL on my mind- they weird John Cusack differently to where he then rewired people...and? It's gorgous- I discovered a song from the film that made me cry and I adore. (I might go snag a clip I'm not kidding it's still living in my mind-)

30: Bright Lights..Big City- The film that fucked me up so badly, I've becomes obsessed I fear....(would have been higher but that feels a bit...shameful- but 30 is still high! I LOVE THIS FILM!)

i really didn't think i'd like this game as much as the other yakuza games bc the switch to turn based combat was sudden and it was risky, but somehow they found a way to make it MY FAVORITE combat system in the entirety of the franchise. ohmygod all the different jobs there is SO MUCH variety and things to explore i love it. i was wondering how they were gonna pull it off with a setting like yakuza that has no fantasy elements in it but ichiban's personality made it SO EASY for it to fit in and for it to enhance its "yakuza" identity of being silly. this is definitely the more goofy game in comparison to the others, but it still has so many heartwarming and moving moments in the story. i love that at its core, LAD rlly was just a game abt family. the entire game is abt ichiban finding his family and trying to reconnect with his family which is something im VERY VERY weak for. about putting trust in your family and the people you care about most. how family is chosen and not by blood. i love it. it's why yakuza 6 is also my favorite. it's very interesting LAD made a change in the cast from having a previously "cool" cast with ppl like kiryu, majima, etc its like you very much know how "far away" they are to you. they're built to be yakuza members. to be legends to have this certain aura surrounding them. but in lad they made a switch into a more relatable bunch of people. these people who you feel like you meet in ur day to day life and can totally see urself being friends with them. dont get me wrong tho i fucking love both approaches to the characters because in both cases they are fully fleshed out, one is not better than the other imo BUT it definitely brings a lot of a very homey and chill and fun vibe to LAD. ichiban truly is the best choice for a protagonist to "replace" kiryu. you can see all the differences in their characters but how much he is going to be LOVEDDD by all the players. all the playable characters all had such fun personalities and goals and backstories too, i truly loved them all. and i can see how much further they can be explored in future games which i am very excited for. ryo aoki is an amazing antagonist i fucking LOVED sawashiro too idk all the bossfights in this game were so memorable!! none of them ever bored me. definitely one of my favorite games in the entire franchise. top three. really fucking good and also very easily recommendable to new players which i will def be doing

Soooooo you know how you said I seemed like a Percy Jackson fan a while ago? Well I kept hearing it was good and eventually someone told me they were about to start reading it, so I decided why not? I’ll read the first couple of chapters!

That is to say, I just finished the first book!!!

I will say it’s not an immediate “I LOVE THIS SO MUCH” but I do really like it! The more I talk about with one of my siblings who’s never heard of it the funnier I think it is and the more I love it! It is a WILD book. Yknow George Washington? Yeah obviously he’s the son of Athena. THE GREEK GODESS OF WISDOM AND WAR. I just find it so funny how they explain real history with the Greek gods and goddesses XD

Also I KNEW IT. I LITERALLY WROTE IT DOWN BC I KNEW LUKE WOULD BE THE LITTLE BACKSTABBER VFEIHNCEFJINECFJINCFEIJNC

The chapter titles are genuinely so funny to me. Especially when I reach the chapter and I’m like, “oh yeah, that makes sense.” For example, the chapter title “We take a Zebra to Vegas”

OH AND POSEIDON!?!? BRO. YOU MEAN TERRIFYING, RUTHLESS POPO FROM EPIC, IN THIS UNIVERSE IS JUST SOME CHILL FISHERMAN!???!?!?!?! I love it. It was SUCH a shock tho. I had heard Poseidon was pretty chill in these books but I was NOT expecting that. And on that train of thought, literally all of the Greek gods are so goofy. Big scary Zeus looks like a grumpy CEO, Popo is a chill fisherman, Hades is honestly scary …until you get him on his rant about the traffic and expenses of the underworld XD and Ares’ design fits pretty well but it’s still funny that he’s just some punk biker. (I love all of them though and they have really great serious moments to)

i havent played many mario games but this is absolutely by far my favourite mario iteration as a character. he is so silly and so goofy and hes not mean to luigi and he dances and grooves and has such a silly fun time i really hope there will be a bit more luigi content too after i save the castle or something i love them both so much

and like olivia was a lil annoying at first, some of her hints (esp during battle) can be pretty useless and she holds your hand through a lot of things,, reminding me that im playing a kids game, but ive grown to love her a lot i love how silly she is even tho she is quite oblivious sometimes. her dancing is so cute and while its not like technically her form or whatever its so cool seeing her fold into the different vellumentals!!!

anyways it just has so much in it and i love the puzzles and the silly little things inside i love the sneaky stuff and 😭 the shogun theatre show was just amazing. idk how many hours of gameplay i have in it so far but it feels like eons /pos

I want to let you know in a silly way that I've looked now and again at your art for maybe a few years (I LOVE your OC's, especially Claude, as I'm a sucker for vampires, I even have my own vampire OC I've had for about 6 years!) But last night I had a dream about being in a math class with a teacher that was basically a fusion of characteristics and designs of none other than Claude and Milla Vodello from Psychonauts (If you know that game!!) LOL

He was a really fun teacher (And thankfully human!) That dressed very groovily and seemed to just flip around the room very hyperactive-like (Milla influences) but simultaneously was an EXTREMELY goofy long-ish haired blonde German man with glasses (Well, sunglasses. Claude influences though ofc.) Sadly I can't remember the name!

It was my first fun lighthearted dream in a while. So uh?? Thanks I guess!!! HAHA. I hope this made sense. And maybe made you laugh like it did for me!

I loved it a lot!!!!! As I suspected, the addition of skits really expanded my affection for the characters, but I also rather enjoyed the changes they made. I honestly can't remember what exactly comparatively was different all around, but the changes to the depiction of Leon's final moments got me really hard,,,, idk if it was more similar in the original jp since I played the official English release of Destiny (I hear there were skits in jp? that might've helped my understanding lol) but I really really liked the director's cut take on things.

See my posts crying about Leon for those exact reactions lmao (they can probably be summarized with ;w;)

I also actually liked that we didn't have to see him come back as like. a raised husk or whatever it was og Destiny did bc even tho his fate seemed definite, it's still ambiguous. I haven't played the sequel obviously but I think?? the Leon looking guy is actually Leon???? idk. maybe it's a bit of a retcon. but yk

Anyway I actually liked every character quite a bit this time!! I liked my fav characters even more (coughcough Stahn and Leon living in my brain now) bc the extra conversations and voice acting were fantastic ✨✨ It really helped the emotions hit for me. I don't remember it all super well since I took so long to play it but I was a giggly little bastard abt the relationships and got a little teary at parts.

Cried at the end despite it all,, Stahn finally finished writing a letter like he was attempting for his family and it was for Leon ;w; That plus just. Tales credits. got me just a liiiittle teary lol. I liked it soso much. Also the reunion at the end made way more sense to me this time around lsjfd;lk just bc of some added dialogue and whatnot

The final boss is kinda meh as a character honestly but the overall story despite that guy was awesome!! I have a lot of fondness for the character arcs of Stahn, Leon, and Rutee, and also just the overall party dynamic was quite fun :3 Silly little creatures, the lot of them.

I missed having anime cutscenes after playing Destiny ps1 alksdjl; so they definitely got me there even tho they really only had character ones at the beginning and the end. But it's not like they do too many of those anyway.

Briefly on the character designs: they're goofy. I can't deny they're goofy. I love them sm they're unique lolol I'm attached to them

Oh yeah I LOVED the tie in to the title lol it was heavy handed as hell and it was perfect.

Bouncing back to what I said abt og Destiny, the dungeon designs were still kinda interesting here and there but less cool than the original, however the combat was definitely some of the best in the series. It's a serious learning curve but very fun!!! It was fun to see how they adapted the puzzles as well; a lot of them were similar but the final dungeon was way different. Hated the mirror area way way more than in og Destiny laskjdfkl;dsj I got stuck for a while but I do like the split party collaborative puzzles!! I remember Abyss did the same sort of thing an I liked that quite a bit, so it had that factor going for it too.

Umm final gist is it was really really fun and even tho it was actually pretty hard for me a lot of the time, but I think to a point that made it still fun. Except the 3-ish hours I spent on the final boss goddamn.

In any case, this definitely bumped up into the favorites!!!!! Stahn is an especially endearing protagonist to me and his relationship with the party was fun to watch develop <3

how to get into this... what im. doing here. is i think entrusting myself to the absurd. and letting myself go with it. and how much i can care (the answer is usually. very much). so. this installment:

Transformers: The Movie. 1986. what is it?

It's 80s kid's movie shit. Aggressively so. pure. saturated. 80 proof. directly into my brain stem. And I'm a fucking sicko for it.

It is... the movie that is technically based on the 84-87 show. I mean. it is that. Its the same world, its the same continuity…. i assume. I had to watch it before starting season 3. What awaits me there, I do not know.

It is also the hypothetical "he is so outside of the original scope of the material the text no longer offers guidance on whether or not He would fucking say that".

…I exaggerate but the movie is... different enough in tone and situation, and but of course, character cast, that it's more in the realm of value add to seen the show than. Necessity. The cross over characters with the most screen time are, I think, the dino bots. and i love the dino bots. but, you get their gist.

was new toy opportunities: (characters, accessories, locations for play sets), obviously.

What I knew going in was: that its better animated. darker. and that characters…. Die!

so in general what i expected to see, and did receive

new lore: the shit keeps popping outta the ground anytime they have to readdress the transformers home planet, cybertron. even in the show. just suddenly. randomly. take some [conflicting to previous examples] lore.

general kid movie tropes and goofing

… the character death thing. more on that later

I'll touch on animation. cause. ofc. for context. im sicko. im. silly guy but. people aren't lying about the show's animation quality. that sort of thing doesn't bother me so much, but more than just. looking jank. It also effects like editing and shot/scene construction it a way that can be. noticeable to jarring. so the movie is a treat cause its not just a upgrade to theatrical animation (which. when considering comparable weight classes, just IS gonna be a step up from television) but on top of that you just get overall better flow and continuity.

BUT that, does not exclude it from old kids movie WILD tone/scene swings. From fun goofy action, to the horrors, to main plot action, to grief, to funny comedic bit characters. It is, I imagine, exactly as it intends to be… and I fault it not an iota. It's very funny to me to just. experience it and let that happen. Especially considering its still delivering on cool ass scifi visuals, just big beautiful impossible machinery, and nice action scenes even when being goofy as shit.

The easiest thing to mention I did NOT expect. the soundtrack. hol lee shittttt. the synths are hitting, the guitars are shredding, old rock men are crooning. like think of the phil collin's disney movies. times. a thousand. a million. I'm listening to right now writing this. Bangers.

SO that's I think, my vaguest recommendation for the movie. Fun to look at and listen to, big robot aliens face adversity and strange situations and hopefully come out on top to the killer score. I'm a simple man. Do experience childlike wonder from time to time. And regardless I really just enjoy the amusement I get from corny shit.

Specifics

Setting: So this is not the world state of the show, of two battling forces stationed in headquarters on earth foiling each other. They do this with a time skip as denoted by the resident human character, Spike, now having a son!

This future state of affairs has "new cybertron", a city on earth. I really like that, its a good vibe for like, aliens are real, they're here and some are our friends (and also maybe. losing the war on their home planet. just a tad). And equally cool vibe, our bots have two moon bases, (their moons, not ours), hunkering down as more rebellious force, than an equal power. And this is where most of the classic show characters are stationed. Including Spike, in a transforming mech suit. That's just fun.

Lore/Plot: Were the robots in disguise not weird enough for you? Okay, how's this. A giant robotic planet eater (is a robot and eats robotic planets specifically it seems). Voiced by Orson Welles.... OKAY. So, incalculable powerful? Pretty much, but there's one thing he's weak to.

The matrix. No, not that one. This Matrix is a big, glowy. thing. That the leader of the autobots carries. It's said to. Light the way in darkness, and has something to do with... "Till are are one" or becoming one with it when you die? Unclear. Its magic, its good, its only for the pure of heart. Etc. Antithesis to big robot planet eaters, I guess. It also uh. confers… prime-ness? No never mind how the show said Optimus Prime was just a normal smaller guy and then got built back different. Magic Box.

Tone/Story: so ive dragged it on long enough. if you've heard of this movie. this is probably why. they KILL CHARACTERS! There getting shot, murdered, general, combat things. Also execution. And being planet eaten. Those sick action sequences to even sicker jams. As your beloved toys are slaughtered. Notably Optimus and Megatron have it out, for real for real. Primes grievously wounded, Megatron's fucked up after falling SEVERAL stories. Which leads to leadership change on both sides. Cause, prime fucking DIES! DEATHBED SCENE! Dad of the autobots, gone. Countless children, traumatized. And this adult in 2023, moved, also.

And Megatron? Instead of dying surround by loved ones, gets picked up by the planet eater. Is it a Faustian deal if your options are "work for me and destroy the magic box of power. Or die an agonizing death"? The deal also nets him a forced rebuild, new name, and... being voiced by Leonard Nimoy for the rest of the film? New game plus Megatron goes a bit harder than original flavour, killing Starscream (Rip baby girl your coronation outfit was nice). Though it does not totally subsume his character, just any time he tries to get out of it, and even wanting to team up with the heroes, the robot god turns on the agonizing death mode again. Cowabummer, dude.

THE SILLIES: This might sound like a crazy thing OR you might be well versed in the art of kids movie yourself and get this picture. Those are some pretty GRIM and heady details I pulled out. But, did I mention there's a weird al song in this? You couldn't find a better thesis statement than it's title: Dare to be Stupid. It's fucking dance parties with. australian? junk bots "batteries not included" style speaking in TV commercial gimmick characters. There's some little freak who speaks in rhymes. The hero of this movie is called HOT ROD. He's almost executed by being fed to robot sharks. But hes not, because the DINO BOTS come save him :D.

So i'm saying, if people have this idea that you can only come to old kids media if you were there. Cause, the nostalgia and history you have. You like remembering confronting serious emotions as a kid, characters that find the will to go on. To be brave and kind. And the enjoyment outta sick fights and crying cause it was too sad. And everything else is just the baggage. Dead weight.

Well, I dunno! I still like it! I can see the animation errors (of course there still there, do you know how many drawing make up a movie?) But I also like cell animation were you see the smudges. There's annoying characters, there's jarring needle drops. There's... baw weep gran nah weep ni ni bong. But. Movies can be good AND be stupid. You don't gotta choose between only completely sincere first order enjoyment, or ironic amusement. I wanna do the secret third thing. And, so, I'll be out here acting a fool! And I'll have a good time.

I think, in general, I really like being surprised by media. And I know how to expect bad media. I did not know how to expect this, though. This beautiful mess. This lovely thing. It has fed my heart and soul. Cause it's fun.
