writer's blurp: mammon lives rent-free in my brain and that's a-okay he's such a sweetie to the MC both in OG OM and in NB. just wanted to write a short little thing about NB mammon finding comfort in things that have the reader's scent.

It started out as a missing coat or sweater. Something you choked up to just being lost in the abyss of your closet, or left it somewhere not that it was anything you were too sad about losing or being misplaced.

Then the throw blankets, or your favorite throw pillows that you would use at the House of Lamentation when the brothers would pull you into whatever movie or game night, and the ones at Cocytus Hall. Solomon helped you turn over every inch of the Hall, but neither of you had any luck finding them, nor could the brothers help you find your things at Lamentation.

Little things here and there, like pens and notebooks, objects you would use daily. You wondered if your chatelaine was breaking, and you not noticing it, but Solomon assured you that it wouldn't with the enchantment he placed on it for you. Some smaller things as well the occasional ring, or necklace.

It wasn't until you one day received a text from Mammon to come over and please bring something good to eat with your company (totally NOT a bonus he said) since he felt a little under the weather. You found your missing things.

Situated in a safe little spot on Mammon's bed, the very demon dozed off around the little things, but also wearing some of your missing jewelry. Face hidden in your throw pillows and your throw blankets living up to their name of being haphazardly tossed on his person, while he was wrapped up in your sweater.

You could also see some of his brother's things mixed in as well.

A little hoard of his own. A little nest with things that made him feel comfortable and safe. Things that belong to those that are important to him, to people that he loves.

So, as quietly as possible you leave Mammon's room knowing that if he were to wake up and knowing that you saw his little hoard of treasures that belong to those important to him, his little nest of things that brings him comfort he would quickly try to hide all of it.

Once you're back outside of Mammon's room you decide to make something other than the Hell Fire Noodles he likes, opting for something a little bit more easy on the stomach.

Texting to let Mammon know that you will be delayed in arriving, his response is a pouty little emoji, and him appearing by your side a bit later. Hiding his face in your shoulder, mumbling and grumbling while you cook, but sticking to you like glue.

One of the few headcanons I somewhat really attach onto is just my hc that Jamil is Bigender and goes by He/She. But in the way that you have to have such an INSANELY CLOSE BOND with Jamil in order to be allowed to refer to him as "she". You can't be an average joe and call him "she", cause if you do that, not only will your ass get beat, but your ass is getting beat so hard you wake up five months later cause you were put in a coma.

Surprisingly one of the few people that are allowed to call Jamil "she" is Kalim, but only when they're by themselves, since Kalim realized he can't go around referring to Jamil as her in public or that will influence others into doing it as well and Jamil wouldn't like that, so he's keeping it low.

Also yeah because I CAN, yes, Floyd is allowed to call Jamil she as well (<- flojami maniac), but unlike Kalim, Floyd doesn't hide it in public that much unless Jamil asks him to. Thankfully no one is influenced by him cause whenever someone else calls Jamil she , Floyd will full on go "oh you can't call Sea Snake that, you aren't allowed to, now I have to get rid of you. C'mere" and chase them around the school on all fours like some paralysis demon until someone physically stops him

You can find most of my headcanons through my fanarts of the Ferryman but here's a list of random facts:

- I believe he's a kind of ancient entity that was victim of the Hunger until the Maw employed him- He loves when the lady invites him to eat here. She often serves him some sake but he doesn't have any taste for them.

- As cryptic as he was in The Sounds of Nightmares I still wanna imagine him being tricky and playful with his victims- He just doesn't look or sound expressive.

- I believe it's because of him if we can find Nomes outside of the Maw- They manage to sneak into his boat everytime he comes for a visit.

- After the lady, the closest person he knows is the Hunter. He loves observing the grumpy guy who manages to capture children with his numerous traps and weapons.

- Oh wait, there's also Roger and Wax Bellman that he's used to discuss with. They never have long discussions, it's just a way for them to pass time and take a break from work.

- Aside that, he just observes the other colleagues from afar. He's aware of their importance but doesn't expect to meet them.

- He considers the North Wind as a silly annoyance but he's never harsher about them.

- Aside shapeshifting, he has the capacity to read the memory of what he eats (as long as it's meat). His favorite food is fishes and he isn't particularly fond of child flesh.

- I theorize that all the large hats we find in various places in the Maw belonged to him as a way for saying he was there (... Or he just forgot them).

- Random Kei fact: he's as tall as the doctor.

- Random Kei fact 2: my main inspiration for his vibe is whales. Just whales🐋

i’m excited for the prequel but i also have this nauseating feeling about reading geralt as a young man…

because it will make him feel more real and give him a life “before” everything. which will recontextualize “everything we know about him” into “everything that happens to him in the years leading up to his death” …

but it also makes me kind of happy because we know all of this love happened to him, even when he felt inferior and probably would not believe it…

When Trucy moves out to go on tour and be an Adult I think that Phoenix would be so lonely which is his least favorite thing to be, and the best way to fix that is for him to adopt the meanest most fucked up asshole cat who becomes his best friend within a month. We already know it’s a big part of his personality to be like ‘I can fix them’ whenever he sees someone who needs help and gets a little depressed when he has to be alone.

He can’t stand the silence of an empty apartment so what better way to fix it than with a creature who will yell at him for the fun of it while eventually fulfilling his physical affection requirements after a long day of having a Normal job. He’s at his best when he has someone to take care of so what better than a ratty little kibby who needs to learn the power of love.

I actually find gender swapping characters really interesting (what part of their expression is dictated by gender norms vs certain events in their life vs their personal preferences that wouldn't change either way, etc.) so now I wanna draw what that would look like in my ocs except I am in pain rn so I'm forced to just lie there and be plagued by visions
