one of my favorite things within the spn fandom is the somewhat collective experience of reading vonnegut because of dean winchester. I heard @icaruspendragon talk about this on a podcast and it‘s so insane that we do/did that. it‘s so odd because there‘s barely a mention of vonnegut in canon but people just took it and ran with it and now it‘s a huge thing in fanfics and we actually read these books (partly) because of collective brainrot.

i‘m always cycling through engaging and not engaging with kpop but this time around it’s been... something

day 1: one of my favourite artist is involved in a drunk driving incident + fandoms of groups i enjoy are clawing each other’s throats out in all their usual toxicity (which is normal, i guess)

day 2: jeonghan‘s enlistment is officially announced

Just read your tags on that Gerrit about (about the faces he pulls) and you put that to words so absolutely beautifully. It's honestly an honour we get to see him so passionate about his music. It's also probably the reason why I'm so abnormal about that man

gerrit‘s musical talent will always be beyond my understanding tbh :D of course a large part of that is just his naturally given absolute pitch, plus getting supported by his family musically since a very young age, but even with knowing that it will never stop me from being in complete disbelief whenever he puts his hands on the piano keys and just plays a melody he has only heard a few times before. music just seems to be flowing through his veins, and especially as a (well, dabbling, compared to gerrit) musician myself, it fills me with so much joy and admiration seeing him play, and feel the music.

Much. Pain. every emotional battle he fights with phil ends up with phils recovery being reset over and over again and he had to watch his friend loose himself piece by piece. but at least phil was still Himself- the only instances where he was far gone was durring dissociative episodes that could be dealt with, or when the feds fucked him up and rendered him feral. but at least he partially recognized people, he was more comfortable around etoiles and fit and kept many aspects of his avian lineage that couldn't quite go away as easily as any human characteristics he gained. and everytime he was reeled back to reality- but here? there's just Nothing.

now when rebooted back to zero, he has to watch a shell of his friend work for the very people who harmed him in the past and by some of the indicators in the conversation ('experiments . . . again?') that they're Still hurting him. but in the last instances, phil knew who he could turn to. in times of need he had people like fit, forever, etoiles, hell even tubbo or cellbit. but now- even if any member of the island would be there for him in a heartbeat when he eventually cracks- he can't remember that. there's some people he seems to trust more then others but he doesn't know why and can't know why as long as he's under the feds thumb and it HURTSSSSSSS. CUCURUCHO WHEN I CATCH YOU. - 💿

I need Etoiles to crack with this. To feel like there is no getting back this time, because all the other times even with Phils messed up memories and struggles in staying connected with reality, struggling to cope with all the fixings and breakings and so much more, there was still always this little hope. This little point they cold build up on and secure Phil back.

But this time? There is nothing.

I need Etoiles to not just crack, I need him to break. Will they ever get Phil back out of this? How many more times do they have to go through this? How many more times does he need to face the fact that the Federation always comes back, always makes sure to put them through something yet worse than the last thing?

Phil doesn‘t know him, Phil doesn’t know anyone and that’s yet the hardest fight he has to face. Not even Death is worse than the fact he lost Phil like this.

There‘s no going back.
