You know what? I'll go first.

-The bros childhood home was basically right next to a huge forest and every night they'd sneak out to go look at cool animals. They'd only get caught when they'd have to wake up their parents to take them to the hospital for a rabies shot.

-The gang all had met each other at least once when they were kids but only became a group after college. And they all have really funny memories of the others as kids, like Aviva meeting the bros cuz they fell out of a tree trying to look at birds up close, stuff like that. They bring it up sometimes

-On long trips they'll have movie nights, and sometimes game night, but Jimmy always wins without fail. Even the animal trivia games, which upsets chris and martin GREATLY.

-All the crew have their own rooms to sleep in, but Chris is the only one that almost exclusively uses his when he's on the ship. Martin mostly sleeps in his bed, but will sleep in a hammock in the main area if he can't fall asleep, it somehow always works. Aviva and Koki were roommates in college and had a bunk bed set up, so they would talk about tech stuff if they couldn't sleep. They set up the hammocks for that case originally. And Jimmy just kinda sleeps anywhere. They found him sleeping in the garage once, just on the floor, so they added another hammock to the stack so it wouldn't happen as much.

-Koki can get REALLY protective over Aviva and Jimmy, it can be a little scary sometimes, but she means well

-Jimmy thumb nail is kinda fucked up from hitting it with a hammer like 7 times in the same day

-Jimmy is the only one in the crew with a pilots license, which is why he almost always drives the Tortuga, and while he's not officially the chef, he's the best cook on the ship and will often make the rest of the crew food without prompting

Hey I'm writing a Wild Kratts x Avatar the last Airbender fanfic and a lot of inspo for Chris and Martins relationship comes from your guardian au! I was wondering if you had any things to keep in mind when writing them or little things about their relationship in your own au that I can steal lol

Well in guardianship AU specifically their dynamic is a little different from canon because their personalities are a little different too (stemming from the fact that their parents died and Martin has been raising Chris)

In guardianship AU, Martin is a lot more mature because he HAD to be. He frets over every little detail when it comes to Chris because not only is he worried about keeping custody of him, but also wants to ensure that Chris has as normal and healthy of a childhood as possible. He wants Chris to be able to be a kid for as long as possible, because Martin was robbed of that the moment their parents died. He's also very self conscious about his qualifications to be raising Chris. He's worried that he's not doing a good job, and Chris would be better off under someone else's care, and Martin sometimes thinks of himself as selfish for not being willing to give up custody even if it would be "better" for Chris.

Chris on the other hand, is not as naive as Martin likes to think. He knows about their struggles despite how hard Martin tries to hide them. He thinks of himself as mature and desperately wishes people would treat him like it. He sees Martin struggle for years after their parent's death, and wants nothing more than to help somehow, but Martin would never let him. So he gets angry and lashes out sometimes because of the restrictions Chris feels he's under. He's very aware that he can be a handful. He also believes that Martin would be doing far better in life if he had just given up custody. Chris is too scared Martin would go through with it if he ever mentioned it though. So they never talk about it. All Chris wants is Martin to be happy, he just doesn't realize he already brings that in Martin's life.

Basically they don't confide in each other like in canon. Mostly because of the age difference and the fact that Martin is in a parental role for Chris. They're not as close with open communication. They still care about each other more than anything, but with Martin's feelings of inferiority, and Chris' insecurities, they both assume the other would be better off without them. And those unspoken fears causes a lot of tension.

Of course they will work it out when Chris gets a bit older and is able to express himself properly, and Martin will feel less obligated to shield him from everything... but for now that's about how it is

Was there a reason as to why you made krattastrophe?

Well im glad you asked....because i already told why i made it but im gonna tell the whole story..

In late 2022, i had this AU where chris turns into a villain (very original...) and...actually this is my first ever AU! And so i had this whole story that...i thought would be cool.

And then, i wrote my first wild kratts AU fanfiction and would post it on insta, i thought it'll be cool and epic...but from my lack of not knowing how to write or type a story, it just sounds really fucking corny

Here is a little screenshot of one of the fanfic, and...you can see the...unprofessionalism... also something to add, this part is the first part of the story, but it doesnt show it the comic.. but the explaination for this weird...typing, is because its not really meant to be taken seriously..

Okok...this is were the comic starts, so basically months later, i had this idea of turning my AU into a comic, and asked if anyones into the idea in my insta story, most said yes so i drew the first comic pages which you can see in the first part of episode 1. I drew this for fun though, but then..it turned into my passion project.

Until mid 2023, my passion project of making the comic feels just like a project, as people asked for more it felt like i had to do it, feeling like work than something i enjoy... and so i lost my passion and "cancelled" my comic, stopping at episode 2 where the scene of martin waking up from unconsciousness starts...

BUUTTTT....then...in early 2024, i reread my "cancelled" comic, and i suddenly had this feeling to continue the comic again, even though i cancelled it. But then i realized that i just needed a big break from making the comic from the constant demands, making my project feel like work than something im passionate about..and so i created more panels to continue the martin scene, uncancelling the comic once more.. and here i am! Still creating the comic for fun!!!!

Before it was even called "Krattastrophe" i still had concept names, the first was "the primal effect", and then second, "the snowball effect", though im still unsatisfied with the names...UNTIL i had an idea, i could mix catastrophe with "kratt", creating Krattastrophe.. and i kept it ever since...grins

The fanfiction and the comics story is VASTLY different, though similiar but...different, i talked about this before but ill talk abt again CUZ I CAN...anyway in the fanfiction, there was a scene where khriz and chris hides away in an apartment after faking chris's death, however, in the comic...they never went to an apartment, but stays in zachs building. In the fanfiction, there was a scene where....chris killed a random man? Because he was a bully when he was a kid, because khriz taunted him to kill him, taking revenge...and then chris accidently eating him? ....its so edgy and full of shock value for no reason, my ass shouldnt have even wrote a single word in that story, but in the comic...it will not happen, obviously...its corny as hell LMAO

I truly don’t think there’s any villain out there quite like Zach Varmitech. No other character could be quite so full of spite, incompetence, and theatrics. No other villain would be like:

Plan A: Stop the Kratt brothers from playing in mud.

Plan B: Hijack all their technology and force their friends to watch them get EATEN ALIVE in a river.

And then he treated both plans with a similar level of gravitas.

This isn’t even about hating animals anymore. This is about having nothing better to do than antagonize some guys who stopped him from bullying a frog when they were kids. This is about being shockingly dedicated to a rivalry from science camp. This is about despising the Wild Kratts SO MUCH that the he thinks everything from mild inconveniences to actual murder are worth plotting and seeing them suffer from.

No one can hold a grudge like Zach Varmitech. And if you try to hold a grudge better than he can, HE WILL FIND YOU. He will not allow himself to be outdone at ANYTHING.

I love him. He’s the best villain in the show.

Ok hear me out.....

Zach is canonically 41 in 2024 according to the wk wiki, and the brothers are canonically their actual ages (even if they look young in the show) which means they are 58 and 55. That's a 17 year age gap.

IF we say that they are actually more like the ages they were during, say, Zaboomafoo (2001 is when it ended, meaning we could say Wild Kratts is around the same era), they would have been ages 35 and 32, and that tracks for their appearances in the show, and the amount of insane younger person energy they have.

NOW WHY, I hear you ask ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THIS?

BECAUSE!!! THAT MEANS ZACH WOULD BE FUCKING 18. NO WONDER HE'S A FUCKING ASSHOLE.

BUT! I hear you cry, he's around their age when they are kids!

I know, that complicates things because like... if that's true and they're 17 years apart in age, they would have to have been like in their early 20s when they were shown as kids for him to be that big with braces. EVEN if he was like 7.

SO, we can safely assume that the brothers and Zach are around the same ages, so if we put the brothers at 35 and 32, that would mean Zach is also probably early 30s, meaning he might be actually 31 in appearance.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? I hear you ask.

Kim Possible was 18 by the end of her show which means she was born in 1989, so she would be 35 in 2024. PERFECT age for knowing the cartoon brothers if their ages are in the 30s range.

Not only THAT, but if Shego was in her 40s (no canon age) when Kim was 18, she's old enough to be of mom age to her (she'd be in her 50s in this timeline I've built) which means I am forever going to say now that Zach is Shego's son.

She became a tattoo artist and lead guitarist of a rock band! She got Viktor into punk rock and alt music

• Viktor has a small tattoo on his thigh done by his older sister

• Mochi is an only child

•Beatrix is a twin. Her twin is a huge techie, could not imagine going out to a far away planet like Bea did

• Odgen has three siblings, two brothers and a sister

• Mochi’s favorite show growing up was Pokémon Indigo League. She wanted to be just like Jessie

• Viktor’s favorite show growing up was the Magic School Bus

What do you think the Octonauts would do if they met the Wild Kratt's team?

Hello! I don't know when I last touched Tumblr, and I apologize for taking so long to answer this question, but I'm back!

-Answer-

If the Octonauts met Wild Kratts, circumstances would depend on how they reacted.

For example, if they appeared in the world of the Wild Kratts, adjusted to fit their world (appeared as humans), I imagine a series of dazed confusion and plenty of flooding questions (and vice versa for the two teams if it was the Octonauts world).

Captain Barnacles would try to make sense- look at it logically even if overwhelmed. He changed from the body he was used to with no clear way of getting home. So, of course- the bulk of his body would need time to comprehend. The same applies to everyone else- adjusting to their new appearances.

However, upon meeting the Kratt crew, you can imagine friendly competition ensued. Kwazzi would be very fond of Martin (troublemakers), Tweak and Aviva would be good friends, Captain Barnacles and Chris, Dashi, Shellington, and Koki, Peso and Jimmy. Professor Inkling finds himself regularly rotating between everyone, fond of hearing the knowledge they have to share (and learning more about how this world views their species).

Martin and Kwazzi would race Buzz Bikes or any of the vehicles. And both are known quite well for crashing them. There are a lot of calls to Aviva and Tweak, though, together, the two come up with better vehicles based on each other's expertise.

Shellington gawks over the technology and marine biology studies. He adores everything new that he learns, and the higher accessibility he has to a base of marine and terra-based organisms. Koki freely gives him access to all the computers- along with Dashi (who has begun priding herself in taking pictures to share with the Wild Kratt Kids).

Barnacles and Chris are a more interesting duo. While their personalities don't match much, they would easily be able to work together. Easily coordinated- and both have a teammate who runs off on a whim. However, Chris is more openly light-hearted and playful. Barnacles is stern- though he allows his light-hearted side to see the light of day.

Peso and Jimmy, I feel, would bond over a shared anxiety for most things. However, Peso more readily dives into action while Jimmy takes a little more pushing. Jimmy would teach Peso to play video games and Peso would teach him to wrap bandages more efficiently.

Overall, their adjustment would cause problems (and the actual introduction of antagonists). Yet, it would be a lovely experience for all of them! (If anyone would be interested, I will gladly explain how I think interactions between the antagonists and the Octonauts would go- as well as introduce some of the other characters from Octonauts (Panni, Natquick, etc...!)

MHA x Wild kratts AU 😨

Basically I had this thought for some reason while I was in my shower LITERALLY JUST NOW…ಠ_ಠ of the WK crew being in the my hero academia universe? And I actually came up with like scenarios and stuff about it? ( might be a small comic )

And I’m going to play one out and tell some ideas I think about it..

Ideas//

The brothers:

Martin is the eldest so his quirk wouldn’t be as developed as his younger brothers, Chris, and so the way martins quirk would act for his body wasn’t the best.

The way the quirk works is, if they touch an animal and know what makes them special, they can turn into them, for Martin this would be 5 minutes and he’d be able to use one creature power— Chris however can turn into two animals for 10 minutes each not after the other however.

The side effects would consist:

Martin: broken bones, ripped tissue and muscles along with little to no mobility for an hour or two max.

Chris: sprained muscles, a little nerve damage and achy pains.

Due to this they couldn’t use their quirk much, only in dire situations.

Once they joined UA highschool (few years before deku and that joined they where kids in middle school so the Kratt team had finished once they joined) they became friends with the support team members.

Aviva: quirk: DTE (design and technical eyes)

Her quirk allows her to create holograms from her pupils, herself only being able to control them, she can scan physical objects and alive creature and access their gene code or mechanical data and such to create more.

Koki: quirk: TCH (telepathic communications holograms )

This allows her to telepathically connect to computers and devices- with training even people, only for a certain amount of time before she gets nauseous or a migraine. She can also create holograms of information or ‘calls’ with people being able to see them in third person like on a screen.

Jimmy: quirk: DC (device control)

With his built in controller in his palm, he can teleport, or movie man made objects- he has to know where, how big and why to teleport the object.

The three became good friends with the Kratt brothers even making them support items for their quirk, it being a blue and green vest, it allows them to keep animal dna in a disc within the suit. Appearing when needed. It helps the brothers body stay functional and healthy while their bones and muscles, their own dna mixes with the animal’s and changes their body to an uncanny resemblance to the animal their using. This group ended up graduating and becoming hero’s in America all around the world even saving animals from villains such as Zack and Donita ect..

I know that Wild Kratts is one of those shows where the main [human] characters don't age despite it still being a quasi-continuity driven show, but it does admittedly make me sad that the WK kids from the earlier seasons are now relegated to (presumably permanent) background cameos because of this.

It's me again! So, do you mind making a Jax moodboard with headcanons, and cartoon-ish aesthetic, farms and "mischievous kid" vibes? Like, I dunno how to explain, but I think you can get it. He's a trauma regressor because of the farm.

Maybe his regressor-buddy is Zooble? Not a Caregiver, but someone that regresses with him? They would have toy aesthetic and cartoon-ish aesthetic, too! Zooble is most likely a voluntary regressor.

🐇🧮Regressor!Jax and Regressor buddy!Zooble!

🐇Jax is a trauma regressor due to the farm from back before he became trapped in the circus. He usually regresses somewhere between 2-7, but on a worse day he can regress as young as a month old. His regression buddy is Zooble, who regresses around 6-8 years old.

🧮Jax, when older (4-7), is a very mischevious kiddo. He likes running around during quiet time and replacing other's toothpaste with mayo. He's louder, and tends to use his outdoor voice at the wrong times. He'll need multiple reminders to use his indoor voice when appropriate. Though whether he'll listen or not is up to him...

🐇When younger (3-), though, he's practically a sweetheart. A complete personality change from his usual hyper, mischevious self. He'll still have a bit of his usual self, laughing at silly faces and others' fails. But he's pretty calm and sweet, making grabby hands and holding his stuffies close. He naps a lot when younger, cuddling into his blankets and pillows with his best bud, Zooble, next to him.

🧮Zooble isn't near as energetic or mischevious as Jax is, prefering to keep to themself and play with their toys. Though, once they started regressing with Jax, they found themself wanting to be near Jax and play with him instead of by themself.

🐇Jax looooves dressing up and playing pretend when regressed! He likes games like Cowboys and House, as well as Princesses and Fairies. He likes all pretend games! His favorites are Cowboys and Princesses, though. Zooble isn't the biggest fan of games that take more energy, but they like playing with Jax so they'll settle with Cowboys and stuff.

🧮Now, playing pretend doesn't have to use up a lot of energy, but Jax prefers it that way. He's a very hyper and energetic older kiddo, so expect running from dragons and shooting Gangle with finger guns. Repeatedly.

🐇Jax likes to roll around. That's it. That's all I have to say about that.

🧮Somedays, Jax'll have a harder time, remembering the farm and various past traumas. Zooble helps him by holding him close, letting him cry on their shoulder while patting his back. If he wants distraction, then they'll play his games with him and watch Scooby Doo and Wild Kratts.

🐇Surprisingly, Jax hates upsetting Zooble and playing pranks on them when regressed. He can and will start crying if he accidentally takes their arm off of them or something. He loves his best bud, and doesn't wanna make them sad or upset!

🧮Him and Zooble are attatched to eachothers hips when regressed. You cannot seperate them without buckets upon buckets of tears being shed. They play together, sharing toys and video games. They watch TV together, watching a movie both of them like (or dislike, what matters to them is that they're together) with snacks and blankets galore. They share eachothers food, trading oreos for gushers and so on. You get the point.

🐇Long story short, they're the bestest of friends! Jax is energetic, mischevious and loud when regressed older, and quieter, sweeter and silly when regressed younger. Zooble is calmer and likes to play a lot, with building blocks and pop-its galore.

Hi, first of all I want to thank you because thanks to you and your art I have fallen in love with the WK series again. I didn't know there was a fandom and I'm glad I'm not the only one who still loves this series.

Your two AUs are great, and the Guardianship AU has got me quite interested. And it has generated a question for me, one of my favorite episodes is the Platypus episode since it shows a really worried Martin for his brother and I have wondered what it would be like in this AU, would it be the same or would some things change?

And how would Chris' interaction with all the villains in general be? I can imagine him telling Donita jokes about how she's already too old or stuff like that hehehehehe.

As for your question:

Chris would definitely be a bit more of a bratt when it comes to the villains. he lacks a filter and only really interacts with them occasionally (when they've decided to capture him to try and mess with Martin) So he's basically making fun of them the whole time.

I feel like he could probably make Zach cry if he tried hard enough...

The villains would often dismiss Chris as just Martin's kid brother, which would really annoy him. They don't really see him as a threat like they do the rest of the Tortuga Crew.
