So I may have been slightly obsessing over “To sir with love”, as one does, and a thing that has been circling in my head for the last few days is the way Tian's confrontation with his mother at the start of episode 13 and his talk with Yang at the end of the same episode echo and oppose each other.
Madame Li comes to Tian when he is in love, hopeful, begging for a chance at happiness, and how does she respond? She crushes it, with the revelation about Jiu and Mr. Ma yes, but mostly with everything else. You will never know love, she says, except mine. That stifling love who wants him to be someone else, that chips at who he is again and again and again.
Then Yang finds his brother (heart)broken, and Tian holds him back to confess his love, again, now in despair and shame and self loathing. And Yang response to that is as it has always been, that his brother is wonderful just as he is. You deserve love he promises, and I love you I love you I love you. A love with no reservation and for all that Tian is, a love always there.
And they both love Tian, they are both afraid and worried for him, both are going to great lengths to protect him, at this point both believe that Jiu has lied to Tian and played him. And. Yet. His mother again puts the blame on him, on who he is, makes him guilty of his own betrayal. His brother reminds him that it's not true, that the betrayer is to blame, and that the fault never laid with him.
And so it's no surprise that Tian pushes away his mother and the prison her love has built around him, but seeks the comfort of his brother's love who has always celebrated who he is.
#the contrast between the ways Madame Li and Yang love Tian was fascinating to me during the whole series#the way his mother keeps pushing him down into shame and his brother keeps lifting him up and celebrating all of who he is#also I was already pretty weepy halfway through the discussion at the temple#but when Mme Li said 'no one will ever love someone like you' I straight up sobbed#the violence of those words??? mein gott I had to stop the video a moment#and after seeing him smile like that at being loved?? believing he's being deceived is NOT an excuse putain#(anyway there is a lots of shared blame for the way Tian views himself (hi Mr Song) but she's done a big part of the work ngl)#on the other hand Yang get the Best Brother Award - leaving the rest of the competition far far behind#and don't get me started on Tian's crying face#it got to me every fucking time like excellent job here but also I ended up on the verge of dehydration too many times#Khun Chai#To sir with love#thai drama#lakorn#asianlgbtqdrama#Tian x Jiu#TianJiu#One31#thai bl#mine#gifs#ragongif

Hello! How was your day? I hope it's been good.
Could I request Zhongli, Neuvillette, and Wriothesley finding out their lover had been gushing over them to random people?
Zhongli, Neuvillette, and Wriothesley x gushing!reader
Zhongli
The ex-archon as usual goes for his daily work break for lunch and tea where Iron Tongue Tian told stories, sitting down and looking around to see one of the staff talking excitedly with another couple of patrons before seeing him. They seemed to light up upon seeing him and bid goodbye to the others, coming over to him and clapping their hands together. “So you’re the handsome man that Name’s been gushing about. Zhongli isn’t it? I’ve seen you around here often.” they said with a smile and noted down his order, waving their hands and assuring him they knew it was usual.
This was news to him. He hadn’t suspected that there’d be any reason for them to gush about him since to him it seemed it should be the opposite. “Hm, I have to say this is the first time I have heard this. “ he said and thoughtfully hummed. Color him intrigued. “Why don’t you sit here with me and have some tea as well? I would very much like to discuss more about what Name says about me,” he said with a smile and if someone looked close enough they could see the slyness behind it.
The worker immediately smiled and nodded, rushing off to get his tea and what he assumed was theirs as well. “Well, I can assure you they’ve never said anything but good things. If anything I’m not sure I have heard anything but praises and compliments about how great of a lover you are. They always talk about how kind and caring you are whenever they’re uncomfortable or feeling down. Another thing they really gush about besides how in their words you’re “sculpted like an archon attractive figure” is how you actually listen to them and hear what they have to say.” he was unfortunately surprised when they emphasized that he actually listened to them which must’ve meant that others didn’t in the past.
Zhongli was aware that some men weren’t the best but he didn’t think it was that bad and if Name hadn’t mentioned it then he wasn’t one to bring it up since he trusted them to come to him with any issues. It was comedically ironic that his lover had said he was handsome like he was made by the gods but he suspected that it was a cover partially for keeping his ex-divine status. Nevertheless, this was great information that he’d found out and he would let you bring it up if you chose to or more likely if they brought it up to you.
Neuvillette
Everyone knows that the melusines see Neuvillette as a sort of father and so when you both started dating or “courting” as your boyfriend put it the adorable group of beings started thinking of you as their mom of sorts. Since they were guards and workers scattered around the city of Fontaine, greeting you whenever they’d see you and having small chats. Many of which you’d gush and rave about all the great things about your boyfriend and how he was so sweet and caring.
Word travels fast but it travels faster among the melusines so when Neuvillette walked the Palais Mermonia to overview a big court case coming up he was welcomed by a joyful group of melusines who started talking all at once. He could roughly understand parts of what they were saying and how they were talking about his partner. “Slow down, slow down. Let’s go to my office first,” he said and ushered them all in, closing the doors and thankful they could talk about this in private. “Now, what is it that you want to tell me?” he asked and sighed tiredly. It was already 10 in the morning and already there was something urgently needing his attention.
Canotila came up to him with her hands clasped together and a wide happy smile on her face. “We are just so happy to hear that Name loves you so much! We knew you were such a kind and devoted person to both Fontaine and its people but we didn’t know how caring you really were. It’s truly admirable Monsieur Neuvillette!” she gushed and joined several others to say affirmations of what Canotila had said. The Iudex knew his lover loved every part of him even the parts he was reluctant to share with them but he hadn’t known they had been gushing about how great of a boyfriend he was.
To be completely honest seeing Neuvillette display any strong emotional expression was rare and the bright red blush spreading over his cheeks was a treat to see. He was extremely touched that you praised him to others for what you adored about him. He would talk to you later to possibly not tell others and strangers about the more intimate details of your relationship because of a few reasons.
Wriothesley
To some of the veteran residents, it wasn’t a surprise to hear that the Duke Wriothesley had a lover and there were very rare times when he’d freely be able to visit you as often as he’d like but you’d often come to the prison when you both wanted to spend time together and couldn’t wait. So the guards knew you well as well as the senior residents and greeted you in addition to also making sure no one else fucked with you if they saw you since you never treated them anything but kindness.
So it wasn’t surprising when one of the guards informed him that one of the prisoners he was particularly close to asked to speak to him and came in with a smile. “I’m letting ya know that your lover is here but I think you wanna hear when I overhead them telling one of the guards,” he said and waited for Wriothesley to let him continue if he wished which he did. “Well, seems like you’re quite the 5-star boyfriend which doesn’t surprise me since I’ve known you since you were once in here but Name wasn’t it?” he clarified and continued.
“They kept going on and on about how well you remember all of their favorite things even the littlest details like how they like their tea or favorite dessert. I feel like it’s not a surprise to hear that another major part of what I heard was about them going on and on about how doting and loyal you are not to mention how attractive you and your personality are.” he hummed with an amused smile and held his hands up, getting up and saying his goodbyes to the Duke.

In the novel (as opposed to the donghua, where he seems a bit younger) Tian Sheng with the merchant caravan is about the same age Hua Cheng is pretending to be. And also calls Xie Lian "gege" and kind of hangs on his every word. And you might expect that to be a setup for some goofy competitiveness, but instead there's this little bit:
Tian Sheng continued, "If not for you, I would've gotten thrown into that pit by that bunch of ugly ghost soldiers. When I get home, I'll build you a temple and worship you." Xie Lian watched him pat his chest and make "very big, very big" hand gestures, and couldn't help but let out a laugh. He smiled. "Then thank you." San Lang was standing to the side, and he chuckled lightly for some unknown reason. Xie Lian didn't think it was because he thought a child's naive words were ridiculous.
Like. I imagine Hua Cheng sees himself in this kid, and is also just very pleased by anyone offering Xie Lian worship, and it's cute.

Zhongli with a child reader
-Reader: They/them + no gender implied -They/them used for Traveler -He/him for Zhongli -They/he for Xiao
Requested: No/Yes
Warnings: None Disclamer: Characters personality, looks, ect may be different from canon due to either hc or author has just forgotten.
A/N: So i forgot where Zhongli lives so i just said "home", anyway i hope you like it, i made it at like 12am in the morning so ya.
^ Made by me
-♥ Zhongli was walking around the streets when he felt something tug at his pants, when he looked down he saw a small child around the age of 3-4 looking up at him with sparkles in their eyes, Zhongli smiled softly and knelt down to the childs height "hello little dragon, aren't you meant to be with Xiao?" He asked picking you up and hoisting you onto his hip. You reached up and tugged his hair while muttering "da" as he walked to Iron Tongue Tian stall. -♥ When you both got there he sat down on the chair and placed you in his lap than lended his hand to you so you could fiddle with it. As time went on and he sipped his tea while you where taking small bites of food and tracing Zhonglis hand when he remembered why your here in the first place, "didn't you run from Xiao little dragon?" he calmly said placing the cup down and looking at you, you paused your tracing and grinned up at him while he softly chuckled and went back to listening to the story.
"Zhongli!" Zhongli looked behind him after hearing his name be called by a certain Traveler with a floating child "Ah Traveler, come take a seat" he gestured to the seat next to him. When the two sat down (Paimon floating next to the Traveler) thats when they saw you sitting on Zhonglis lap and tracing his hand not looking at the two of them at all "Zhongli, whos the kid?" Traveler asked, Zhongli looked down at you than back at them "ah, this is [Name], my child" he smiled and patted you on the head with his unoccupied hand as you softly squealed with happiness "CHILD?!" After explaining that he adopted you after finding you on the streets the atmosphere changed slightly cold "ah, it seems they found you huh?" Zhongli spoke as Xiao apearded next to him and the Traveler, you looked up and gasped when you saw your big brother and made grabby hands while squealing "up up up!", Xiao silently sighed in relief and took you from Zhongli as you hugged him tightly "don't ever do that again okay? you worried me" they said the last part very quietly so you where you only one who heard it. It was starting to get late so the Traveler and Paimon bid farewell and started walking back to where they where going to stay, Zhongli looked down with soft eyes upon seeing Xiao and you playing together "well its been a long day so how about we get back home" Xiao looked up at him and nodded as you yawned and rested your head sideways on Xiaos shoulder as they both started walking back home.

The peach blossoms are blooming
Lol @the fancy title, haha. Yesterday I promised "two hoboxu's today!" but I'm an inconsistant liar so the second is today and not yesterday, HAH.
Anyway, another painting of my very beloved; more about this piece below!
So aside of the obvious joke, what I really wanted to work on and represent on this picture is, as the title makes it clearer, grief, and what it looks like for ZZS.
The idea came from imagining ZZS setting off, happy with his disguise, and passing by a peach tree orchards and seeing all the peach blossoms blooming, and what it would entail.
...So let's talk about what TYK is about again, shall we?
(usual caveat: those are my thoughts and interpretations etc etc)
Little is known of the four years that separate the end of QY and the beginning of TYK. Even less is obviously stated when it comes to the reasons why ZZS has put in the nails, besides the obvious "requirement to leave Tian Chuang" part.
So, trying to leave all headcanons and other suppositions aside, and looking at what the text gives us, one of the main "storylines" of ZZS' personal journey across both books seems to be: dealing with the loss of LJX, first of their relationship, and later, of LJX entirely.
>I'm going to boldly announce that (I think) TYK is in great parts a story about getting over grief, or rather, properly living with grief.
Needless to say that it is clear that ZZS has a bunch of issues he's dealing with, including "the void after meeting your goals; what's next?" and some form of burnout from completely over-exerting himself and going way beyond what he thought he could sustain mentally; but also. Four years after he lost LJX, ZZS is still deeply grieving. Still seeing him in crowds, still thinking about him frequently, still hallucinating him, dreaming of him. He couldn't resist taking in ZCL because ZCL reminded him of LJX. Nearly every single thought of his own past ends up rooting back to LJX.
The first time he mentions LJX's name out loud in TYK, chapter 41, is the first time he mentions it at all in four years, and to quote the text:
Speaking out his name hadn't been that big of a deal, in the end; it had only felt like something had been pulled out of his chest—like he was now missing a piece, like it left behind an empty void.
(TYK ch41, TL by me)
The next scene is when it hits ZZS that he's going to die; from that moment on, ZZS starts feeling stupid, ZZS slowly starts wanting to find a solution, influenced by WKX... and the story culminates with ZZS making the opposite decision that he made in QY: instead of risking never seeing WKX alive again, and against WKX's decision, he goes to meet him, unlike LJX whom he was too scared to go meet, and lost forever without even saying goodbye.
>I think that ZZS essentially took the nails because he couldn't manage to live with that grief, basically. (I know, I KNOW there are other reasons, but for the sake of analyzing this theme, I find interesting to look at it from this angle; how the narrative shifts towards ZZS putting in the efforts to stay alive at the exact same times he starts letting go of LJX literally.) And then, as he learns, as he rediscovers life differently, the story becomes about getting free from the nails, about actially living with that grief rather than dying because of it.
*coughs* so, hum, yes. This is what I wanted to represent. What grief looks like, at this stage of melancholic, happy, self-deprecating acceptance of freedom through death—freedom of the burden of grief and guilt. It's a bittersweet feeling, but the way I see it, he smiles out of what he thinks is inner peace, resignation, and once again, self-deprecation.
I would go even deeper, in that ZZS' relationship to death with regards to LJX is quite complex and difficult, given how he was told by LJX himself that he ought to die for what he's done (or misunderstood LJX saying so), but that's a whole other can of worms and I don't have the brain juice to go there again (since it wouldn't even be the first time iirc). SO YEAH, again, grief, but ZZS style: turned into a bit of a melancholic, silly, but gentle joke, and with a smile on the face. On brand with TYK as well.
Cheers!

Of first meetings - Zhou Tang Sui
ALT. under cut.
Stinks, he thought as he entered the kitchen. Echo of older boys leers still fresh in his mind. Kitchen cleaning duty wasn't the worst punishment he could’ve gotten for not keeping up with the swordplay instructors and then getting into a verbal fight, but it wasn’t something he wanted to do after a long day.
He got stuck in Minli army camp, while they waited for 9th prince to get recalled back to Chang'an capital. Then maybe he could finally attend hispromised school.
He took another sniff, taking a look around the small room filled with ba-rely visible smoke. This is not the smell of the dinner they had earlier - it was instead pungent and herbal. And very intense - so much that he felt the need to sneeze.
‘’What’s this smell?” Wu Chun Tian asked loud, finally locating the boiling pot in the back of the kitchen.
‘’Mixture of honeysuckle flowers, sesame oil, red stoneroot, silver grass and lard,” he heard and turned to the source of the voice. Behind him stood a young boy, somewhat in similar height and age as he was. He was hol-ding a basin with water. ‘’Are you new kitchen help?”
“What it’s for?”
The white haired boy frowned, and raised his brew at him.
“This mixture. What's this for?’’ Wu Chun Tian asked, taking a peak insidethe pot. The water was boiling, but inside instead of plates as he expected now he found stripes of clothing. Interesting.
‘’Are you genuinely curious?” the boy shot him with an inquisitive, albeit somewhat suspicious look.
‘’I wouldn't be asking if I wasn’t,’’ he shrugged. Then he remembered the cook told him to get on with duties quickly if he wanted to finish before midnight, so while waiting for his companion to answer, he moved to- wards the pile of dishes. He sighed gravely, but decided to get this over with as soon as possible. He shot a look at a boy still standing awkwardly with a water basin in the middle of a room.
‘’Oh, um,’ the boy started. ‘’This concoction is often used by physicians to treat wounds. Uh, something similar, anyways. So I was wondering if I boi bandages in it, then maybe it would also be helpful in the long run.
Bandages are already boiled in some blends but I thought this one would be effective.’’
Wu Chun Tian regarded the scrawny teen beside him, as he was telling him about various properties of the the ingredients in the boiling water. Themore he explained while focusing on washing the dishes, his shoulders relaxed. He shot him a few looks, as if checking if Wu Chun Tian was still listening. And he very much did. The boy theorized that washing bandages not only in clean water but medicine could make them cleaner and more efficient, which from Wu Chun Tian’s point of view made sense.
‘’I hoped to give them to the medic when they’re dry,’’ he finished with a smile, and then - as if remembering he wasn’t supposed to talk this much, closed his mouth.
‘’You should do that,’’ Wu Chun Tian nodded. He rinsed a big spoon and then used it to point at the boy, ‘’And tell him all of this.’’
’Uh, I’m not sure he will listen to me,’’ the boy said, scratching the back of his head. ‘’Anyways, we should focus on the dishes. I need to clean up my boiling pot before the cook catches me messing with his pots again.”
“I didn’t think kitchen help would be versed in medicine,’’ Wu Chun Tian mused. ‘’Shouldn’t you be in the army medic’s place?”
When he turned to the boy, he was met with a small frown on his face.
‘’I’m not a kitchen help,’’ he grumbled with his lips in a thin line. ‘’It’s my punishment for this week.”
Wu Chun Tian snorted - so they were on the same boat. He wondered what the boy did to be sent to kitchens to wash dirty dishes.
‘’Now, you’re like me,’’ Wu Chun Tain said aloud with a smile playing on his lips. His enthusiasm wasn’t met with a positive response, as the boy only further frowned. ‘’By the way, what’s your name? I’m Wu Chun Tian.”
The boy turned back to the bucket with dirty dishes, and mumbled under his nose.
‘’Huh? I didn’t hear.”
‘’Zhou Tang Sui.”
“That’s better. Nice to meet you, Zhou Tang Sui. ” he said. ‘’I’d do a greeting bow, but taking into account I’m elbows deep in dirty water, I’d rather not.”
He felt the name was vaguely familiar though.
‘’He looked over the dishes still piled up. Cleaning up after the whole squad dinner felt like a never ending task, and even with them both here, he doubted they’d be able to finish before midnight. He belatedly noticed both that the smell of herbs didn’t bother him as much as before and that Zhou Tang Sui was sending him looks.
‘’Yes?”
‘’You’re not going to say anything?”
He felt funny - just now he was washing smelly dishes because, according to his instructor, he couldn't keep his mouth shut.
‘’About what?”
The boy pursed his lips and shook his head.
Eccentric, he thought, when Zhou Tang Sui focused back on the work.
Without much else going on, he could only follow suit.
‘’So, what did you do?” Zhou Tang Sui suddenly asked after moment of silence. ‘’I think-, hm, I heard your name before. Or at least maybe a nickname? Xiao Hu?”
‘’All Liu Yan Bang’s fault,’’ he muttered, with a click of his tongue.
‘And you, little tiger with big claws - stop fighting your instructor.’ Liu Yan Bang said back then, and it quickly caught on. He hoped this stupid nickname would not stick for long.
"’Huh?”
“Nothing,’’ he said. ‘’I told the swordplay instructor that his methods are too much when taking into account different physiques of his trainees and I was told to run the whole court.”
Zhou Tang Sui was about to open his mouth to question him further, but noise of opening doors followed by a cough startled the two boys.
‘’What is this ungodly smell!"
‘’Minister Liu told us to boil these, so we did,” Wu Chun Tian replied with- out missing a beat as the cook’s wide frame entered their view.
‘’Eh.. Minister Liu?” he said, scratching his nose. ‘’This lad always has ideas, eh. Capital folks, am I right boys?”
The two nodded.
As soon as the cook, with a heavy sigh moved to the other room mutter- ing about taking it with the upstairs, Zhou Tang Sui turned to his new companion.
‘’Why did you say that?” he asked. He was sure that if the cook heard that he was conducting another weird experiment in his kitchen, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. Yet, just mentioning Minister Liu’s name with such confidence was enough to make the cook but a grumble.
‘’Don’t worry about it.”
Zhou Tang Sui looked over at Wu Chun Tian, who was back to washing plates, as if nothing happened.
What an incomprehensible individual, he thought.

just love how mo initiated all of this 🥺 boy is not denying anything anymore and finally able to embrace his feelings for he tian and tries to prove it to him now with physical affection, but he tian doesn't even need that proof... that's why he's so relaxed here. he tian is supporting mo even now - being calm during a storm. it's so beautiful to witness. the lighting in the room emphasises this even further.
and mo made up his mind to do this even though he's visibly nervous, he tian keeps reassuring him just with his mere presence. he doesn't push, he doesn't need to, he just keeps smiling because he already knows how mo feels without having to prove it or tell him. the hand holding tho. that neck grab... it's all initiated by mo and that's such a big step for him, i am speechless.
but mo tries and that's all that matters, he is acting on his own.
i love to see their relationship turning from a rocky start to such a considerate, pure, tender one. they have grown so much and this development is everything. i am so proud of them 😭

Obsessed and I'm not 'The On1y One'
Watching and getting obsessed with BL one after the other was not what I planned to do after office. But fuck it. It's like my boy Sheng Wang said, let's live life without regrets.
Just need to scream a little after watching today's episode (ep. 6) because my heart cannot take the cuteness. The way Tian looks at Wang - my god. One day my heart will explode and the reason will be their slowburn romantic tension. It is so slow, so slow that the sloth in Ice Age is giving them competition.
But I just hope, hoping against hope, that ep. 7 will show some teeny tiny progress and they will finally cuddle! A girl can hope.
Wang being depressed about Tian leaving and ignoring him; Tian noticing that he is ignoring him; Tian got him to confess that he is being ignored; Tian's private smile whenever he notices Wang being Wang; Tian holding his hand; Wang's expression when Tian put that digestive candy between his lips; the deal of eating lunch together and staying together; and finally FINALLYYYY Wang falling asleep in Tian's bed which is such a big cry for cuddles - I just cannot deal with the cuteness.
The next week is too far away and I cannot wait for it!!!!!!!!!!!

Heyyyyyyyy
I love your TianWang very moments fics and just wanted to ask if you would maybe write something cute and sweet for them with a cat??
oh, thank you so much ❤️ how can I say no to a story with a cat T.T thank you for the prompt
warmth spilling over the edge [AO3]
Sheng Wang tried to make himself small. It wasn’t easy because he was 185 cm tall and tried to make himself small in the narrow space between Mr Ding’s little white house and its neighbour.
He even tried to breathe as shallow as possible but knew that in a few moments, he needed to take a big breath, or he would feel like suffocating.
“What are you doing?”
Sheng Wang flinched, turned to express his surprise with a slap on Jiang Tian’s shoulder and shushed him.
Jiang Tian caught his hand and crouched next to him, which was way more distracting than his sudden appearance.
“What are you doing?”, Jiang Tian asked again, this time in a whisper next to Sheng Wang's ear. It felt a little like a punishment for the slap.
Sheng Wang pressed his lips together and looked heavenwards to ask for patience.
“I heard something,” Sheng Wang whispered back.
Before he could explain further the little mew appeared again.
“That, did you hear that? There’s a cat.”
Jiang Tian frowned and slid closer. Now two big shadows stared into the narrow space. Sheng Wang hoped they emitted enough non-threatening vibes for the cat to not be afraid of them.
It took a few moments, an hour, three years until a small ball of fur appeared from a pile of abandoned tiles.
“A kitten,” Sheng Wang whispered. It was tiny, dirty and stared at them until it decided they were worth its time. With a much louder, demanding, meow it trotted towards them. Before Sheng Wang could react, Jiang Tian moved and snatched the kitten the moment it was within grabbing distance. The kitten yowled indignantly.
“It’s so tiny,” Sheng Wang said in awe. Now, in the bright noon daylight, it was revealed that the kitten wasn’t dark in colour, just dirty. White with orange spots all over it, like a cow, Sheng Wang thought amused.
The kitten had stopped yowling and seemed to enjoy Jiang Tian’s gentle strokes along its tiny body.
Sheng Wang scoffed and then tried not to blush.
“Where do you think it came from?”
“It’s hard to say. There are always cats around here. Some were abandoned, some dumbed here because people know Mr. Ding will take care of them.”
“Oh.” That was a sad thought.
“We should get it bathed and fed,” Jiang Tian said, and Sheng Wang followed him into the house.
Mr Ding wasn’t surprised about their new guest and just pointed them to a wash bowl they could use.
“Do you think we could smuggle it into the dorm?” Sheng Wang moved his fingers back and forth in front of the kitten, who tried to catch them, the fur on its head still a little damp. Its belly was round and full and while Sheng Wang’s finger seemed like an enticing catch it yawned a couple of times and at some point, just laid there and lazily slapped after them.
“I don’t think Gao Tianyang or Shi Yu could keep that a secret for long,” Jiang Tian said while he tried to dry the water stains on his uniform.
Sheng Wang pursed his lips. He never had a pet growing up.
After a silent battle that lasted only a few seconds the kitten fell asleep, outstretched, one soft paw against Sheng Wang’s finger. Sheng Wang leaned forward to lie his head against the couch and stare at the kitten. It was so tiny. It had little freckles all around its little nose.
“It has your eyes,” Jiang Tian said suddenly, and Sheng Wang frowned at him.
“Bright and shiny.”
It was the earnestness, Sheng Wang thought while the heat burned its way from his neck up his face. It was also the dimple and barely contained smile because Jiang Tian knew how much Sheng Wang liked to be complimented. It was Jiang Tian’s hand that joined him on the couch, brushed softly over the little paw, onwards to Sheng Wang’s finger.
Outside Mr Ding shook out laundry before he hung it on the line. The sun shone inside the house, and Sheng Wang felt Jiang Tian’s touch like a hug. He never wanted to leave.
end.

Photogapher He Tian, who's in a funk and looking for inspiration comes across Momo feeding a cat.
- + - - + -
He Tian's bored. Bored and restless. His skin feels too tight, an itch crawling over his being he can't scratch because he has no idea what it is. All his recent photos look like crap to him. Jian Yi says they're all great, that he's just a goddamned perfectionist. Zhan Zheng Xi tells him he probably needs a break, nothing wrong with giving yourself a proper break, besides you can afford it.
He Tian listens. Somewhat. He can't really turn it off. His eyes are always looking for the perfect moment to capture. He's traveled a lot in the years. Maybe it's time to go home. So he does.
He doesn't tell his family he's back in the country. What's the point when he knows they monitor him? They'll know when his plane touches down.
He tries not to stay in his apartment for too long. There's nothing really in it. It's just a place to sleep in. Sometimes he doesn't even do that, waking up in someone else's bed more often than he would have liked.
He tries to do it this time. They haven't exactly helped him getting out of whatever the hell has him in this state.
One day, as he's walking around. His eye catches something. A curious little red head. He's hunched over himself, hands tucked protectively in his jacket. Like he's hiding something. He's being a bit suspicious and He Tian, piqued, decides to follow him.
He ends up witnessing something quite interesting. Litte Red who has such sharp eyes a single glance could practically kill, face seemingly etched into a permanent scowl, is crouched and feeding a little kitten and talking to it in such a sweet voice.
He Tian barely realizes he's lifted his camera and captures the moment. His shutter goes off and the guy notices him. He expected to be confronted. He's all fire and He Tian was ready to be consumed by it.
But the other man looks so shocked and books it out of there. He Tian's surprised by the response he wasn't even able to give chase.
He looks at the kitten and its big dark eyes blinking at him innocently. "I don't suppose you'll tell me where I can find him?"
It meows at him once and goes back to eating.
He Tian waits but Red doesn't come back.
That night he looks at photos he took just to pick out ones he wants printed or posted on his SNS account.
He feels his breath catch when he finds the one he took of little Red. He hadn't expected it to come out this good.
The lighting lends a surreal feeling to it. The smile on his lips is small but it softens his face. His eyes lit with fondness, and—dare He Tian say it—love. The kitten is looking at him, mouth open in a soundless meow. It makes it look like it's smiling back at the red-head.
There's a feeling rising in chest he can't quite name. His heart racing in a way he's never felt before. An inexplicable twinge he refuses to examine. A familiarity he's not ready to confront.
But He Tian is sure of one thing—he needs to see him again.

tianshan kiss hc's plz plz 🥺
HEHEHEH TY FOR THE ENABLING XOXOXOX
so their next kiss - mo is just getting used to it, he hasn't kissed someone before and last night he spent far too much time googling how to be a good kisser and he's super nervous once the adrenaline wore off omg. it's after school, they've walked back home together mostly in silence, their hands brushing together now and again. tian looks so big in his house, almost having to duck under the doors and nearly knocking things over in their little kitchen. tian will make some little joke about soup again, mo will blush and get flustered, but tian has that look in his eye, and mo will know. this kiss starts soft, and suddenly tian's hand is at the small of his waist, and the NOISE of it makes mo's legs turn to jelly. he doesn't know how something so gross could possibly be so hot. they're just pressing lips together but tian feels so BIG against him and he keeps thinking about having to go up on his tip toes and he realises TIAN HAS TO BEND DOWN and he's totally lost to it. opens his mouth a little and hears tian make this terrible, greedy noise before he feels he blacks out.
once they get used to it, there's kisses in quiet corridors, or good morning kisses as tian starts to pick him up for school and go together, and then good night kisses when they've lingered at the doorway for almost an hour, but ma said if you stay you have to sleep on the couch and i need to leave my door open because- because- and then there's another kiss where they're smiling and mo is blushing and tian is mumbling against his lips that he doesn't want to cross his future mother in law and mo's heart HURTS to think of them like that.
sometimes, though, when momma mo is out at her shift, and it's a friday night so no school tomorrow, they sit on the small sofa together, with legs touching and then suddenly EVERYTHING touching because tian is pressed against him, over him, and he feels like being trapped here forever. the noise he's making now are so shameful he tries to block himself out, and the way tian's warm hand is under his shirt is so distracting he can hardly THINK.
anyway yeah i'm sorry there's like a million kisses to headcanon WHICH ONE TO BEGIN WITH lmao <3 thank you for the ask mwah mwah mwah

Current Tag Game
Tagged by @colourme-feral in this post – thanks dearie! 💖
Current time: 9:59am (when I started this! it's now much later but I'm not gonna re-write...).
Current activity: Had a work deadline last night so tidying up the aftermath (deleting unwanted files, etc.).
Currently thinking about: How the project submission for work went. Annoyed that I skipped gym this morning just in case there were last minute changes to the project submission and we'd have to re-submit today; but now that's not needed I'm missing legs day. Also thinking about munching on something extra because breakfast was too light (hardboiled eggs, grapes and blueberries – all originally meant as a post-swim snack, re-purposed to become breakfast since gym was canceled). Maybe fry up an omelet and sausages, or grill some salmon? 😋 Or shall I just munch on some creamy Whittaker's milk chocolate since lunch will be soon and anything heavier might spoil it? 🤔
Current favorite song: I don't know if they qualify as favorites, but songs will enter my brainspace and then swirl around in there for a while, refusing to leave. So I'm constantly listening to them (on YouTube, not Spotify; don't have a smartphone) and/or singing along in an effort to exorcise the earworm. At the moment the playlist in my head is:
I Don't Think That I Like Her Anymore (Charlie Puth) Charlie constantly amazes me with his superhuman ability to churn out catchy melodic turns and unusual aural takes on percussion sounds for his backing rhythms (e.g., the light switch in Light Switch). This song continues with his quirky stylings, and I'm loving the pounding bass coming in to frame the heavyweight sock-it-ta-ya message of the song's chorus after the light plaintive vocals of the introductory and intervening verses. The second (melodic) line of the chorus ("Cause they're all the same") is so simple and yet so perfectly fitting after the bold hook of the first line – I find myself asking each time I hear it how could anything else ever fit better? And then it builds and builds to a big finish, at the end of each chorus and also at the end of the song – that key change from B Major to C# Major is quite a genius step, retro yet so fresh. (But still... C sharp? 👀 OK if your electronic thingamajig can auto-transpose but hell on a trad keyboard.) I know this song is from a year ago but I'm not simply wallowing in nostalgia (oh all right, so yes I am a bit) – there is nonetheless a BL connection that first got me hooked on this. The cast of my current fave I Feel You Linger in the Air did their own take on the TikTok Kpop dance challenge of this song (linked here, with other TikToks here) and they're just so cute dancing along. Nonkul attempts a little elbow jab in homage to the original choreo, while Bright gives up after a couple of bars and just goes on doing alternating wrist twirls like those you sometimes see in Southeast Asian dance… 🤣 Alee and Tian seem like they're having fun, as does Attila, but who knew Khun Robert could actually look this good, all goofy and charming when he smiles doing a silly little jig?

All I Want for Christmas is You (Mariah Carey) Ever since Ms. Mariah broke her icy containment after Halloween (see this video here 😂) I've been singing along, getting in the mood for carols, fruitcake and Christmas decorations because it reminds me of time spent with (departed) family. Happy because those are happy times worth recalling, but also bittersweet because those loved ones are no longer around.

One of Your Girls (Troye Sivan) While I tend to feel a pinch of resentment whenever Aussies of European origin seem to get opportunities in the West more easily than non-white people do, I have to remind myself it's the system and not the talent that is at fault. So credit where credit is due and I'm a fan of what Troye has done with this and his earlier releases (like his video with PP Krit 😃😍). One of Your Girls is just so beautiful and languid as it teases with its message, and consistently Troye is breathtakingly beautiful and languid in the video, teasing us with an offering of the forbidden. I'm feeling things I never thought I would. 😮 The choreography is pretty daring too. (Especially that crotch flare – where did they tuck the dangly bits? I'm wincing as I watch.) Also shout-out to all the different representation with the models. 😍
youtube
Then I'm Gonna Give You Up (Rick Astley) This is Rick Astley spoofing Rick Astley (more explanation linked here) and just so funny. Especially since the original song is already iconic on Tumblr.
youtube
Fast Car (Luke Combs) Another nostalgia trip, this is an absolutely stellar rendition of the already phenomenal original by Tracy Chapman. Almost like Marc Cohn's Walking in Memphis with its sense of urgency and of bottled emotions about to explode, maybe just a shade less of Marc's full-throated growl in Luke's voice, but earthshaking nonetheless. In these 21st century times (and in my corner of the world where BL and queer rep cross my dash all the time) I love that Luke (a married man with a wife and two kids, looking for all we know like the straightest of the hets) didn't change Tracy's line "So I work in the market as a checkout girl", paying homage to the original and smashing at the gender-obsessives everywhere in a quietly powerful way.

Currently reading: My language study textbooks; not much time for anything else though I do miss having a good work of fiction to keep me company whenever the slate of Thai drama dips in quality.
Currently watching: I Feel You Linger in the Air – a really impressive work, solidly-grounded in its universe with overhanging familial, social and political intrigue that threatens to overshadow (but never really does) the chemistry between Khun Yai and Jom.
I've fallen in hard love with this and just hope that Tee Bundit will display the wisdom associated with his name (for those as linguistically-obsessed as I am, Bundit is the homologue for pundit in English, pandit in Hindi and pendita in Malay) and wrap up the finale with more finesse than he has done on his other shows. (Something tells me though that the sense of foreboding you get while watching IFYLITA is partly due to the dread that Tee is going to rush and stumble through the last bits, leaving viewers less than satisfied with the ending like he did with Lovely Writer, Hidden Agenda and Step by Step.) However this goes, I'm a new fan of Nonkul and Bright's acting, and can't wait to see more of them.
As to what else I'm watching – I'm still trying to finish Only Friends, if only to be able to say that I've finally watched a Jojo show all the way to the end. It's not for me, though it has some moments that shine (like Neo's performance, and all the shirtless scenes) but I struggle to find anything that satisfies on a more cerebral level. I'm not opposed to sensuality and messy drama being foregrounded over more intellectual underpinnings (all hail KinnPorsche) but for me it doesn't go earthy and raw enough to make up for whatever else it doesn't do.
Current favorite character: Pat and Pran from Bad Buddy will always be on this list, but because I'm currently enjoying IFYLITA I'm sure I've been visited by Por Jom, Khun Yai, Khun Ueangphueng, Ba Prik, Ming and Khun James in my dreams lately (and also a certain racing piglet 🤣).
Current WIP: All in my head, but I have a final wrap-up post on Bad Buddy locations percolating, as well as one on the graphics in the show (that give us hints of Pat and Pran's interior worlds).
Tagging names I've seen more than once cross my dash and/or notes:
@neuroticbookworm @airenyah @alexis-mika @belladonna-and-the-sweetpeas @wen-kexing-apologist @twig-tea @pandasmagorica @respectthepetty @dribs-and-drabbles @waitmyturtles @dimplesandfierceeyes @writerwithoutsound @bengiyo @grapejuicegay @lamonnaie @lurkingshan @callipigio @italianpersonwithashippersheart @recentadultburnout @kattahj @theheightofdishonor @fiddlepickdouglas @dc-alves @brazilian-whalien52 @slayerkitty @silvercrystal1 @dudeyuri @ranchthoughts @suni-san @chawarin-panich @lurkingteapot @solitaryandwandering
and anyone else who'd like to play. 😍 Apologies if you've already been tagged; point me to your post if so! And apologies if I've forgotten to mention anyone; if I follow or if you follow me please know you are loved and do play along if you wish! 💖
Also a special tag carved out for the lovely @visualtaehyun as a part-apology; you've tagged me before on a couple of other games and I wrote out about half of my replies – but then work deadlines became urgent and got in the way. Ruefully I had to abandon those posts (especially since they're now weeks out of date). So this is my way of saying thanks for tagging me on those tag games, sorry for not replying, and I hope you'll play along with this one because I love getting to know like-minded people on Tumblr! 💖

my insomnia has struck again, here's a very small fic
don't take it seriously
-------------
A GREAT SOLUTION
Nobody. No one had shown up. They had opened more than two hours ago and there wasn't a soul there.
He Xiaohui, Fang Duobing's mother, had recently paid for a spa that was once renowned for its miraculous springs.
She believed that by renovated it, it would return it to its former glory bringing great profits but not a single person showed up at the inauguration.
Fang Duobing sighed, his cheek resting on the palm of his hand. He was sitting in the lobby waiting for customers who clearly would never come.
His mother had asked him to help her welcome the guests but at this rate he would die of boredom. His mother always made bad investments.
"Your mother must have been disappointed," a voice called from the entrance.
He looked up at it and as soon as he saw who it belonged to he jumped up.
"Li Lianhua! What are you doing here?"
"Master He had invited us to the inauguration but we were late," explained Li Lianhua, reaching the boy followed as always by Di Feisheng.
Those two had a strange relationship, something Fang Duobing couldn’t figure out. They were always next to each other and I often exchanged long looks and half smiles.
He shook his head, freeing himself from that thought, now the priority was the spa.
"The opening was two hours ago," Fang Duobing scolded him.
"There doesn’t seem to be much lost," Di Feisheng grinned, looking around.
"You!" Fang Duobing exclaimed outraged, trying to kick him.
"Ayo, leave him be" Li Lianhua said, grabbing the boy by the arm and blocking his attempt to hit the former Jinyuan alliance leader.
"It would be better to find a way to help your mother, Xiaobao"
"It’s a kind thought Li gongzi" thanked him Master He entering the lobby.
Li Lianhua made a slight bow in greeting.
"We can discuss this over a cup of tea," Tian Ji Hall’s master continued, urging a waitress to bring the trays.
While passing the cups to the various guests, the young maid, intimidated by the presence of Di Feisheng, accidentally poured the hot drink on his clothes.
"I’m s-sorry!" She stuttered in panic.
"It’s nothing serious," the doctor comforted her with one of his gentle smiles.
The girl made a quick bow and then ran away.
"You scare everyone," Fang Duobing muttered as he followed the waitress with his eyes.
Di Feisheng did not answer and simply took off the top layer of clothes that had become wet.
Fang Duobing at that sight wided his eyes. The great leader of the Jinyuan alliance stood almost shirtless in the atrium of a spa at the sight of all.
And what a sight. Broad shoulders and abs sculpted.
"Xiaobao, close your mouth or you’ll get bugs in it," Li Lianhua laughed.
Fang Duobing turned to him sulking. The doctor did not seem to be surprised by the sight of Di Feisheng’s body, as if he was used to seeing it that way.
That those two were having an affair?! This explained Li Lianhua’s nocturnal visits to Di Feisheng’s room when they stayed at an inn or disappeared for several hours and then returned as if nothing had happened.
Fang Duobing stared at the doctor in astonishment with an exaggerated expression of betrayal on his face.
"I just had an idea," exclaimed his mother.
He turned and noticed that she was grinning as she looked towards the door.
He followed her gaze and saw several girls who had stopped in front of the spa and who giggled among them eyeing Di Feisheng in all its beauty.
"I need to borrow A-Fei," smiled Master He.
Fang Duobing snapped at her perplexed.
"A-Fei?" Since when did she call him that?
"If my son calls him A-Fei, I don’t see why I can’t do it!"
Master He approached Di Feisheng with a big smile and then wrapped her hands around his bicep.
"I feel this will be a great idea"
------
And so it was that shortly after the new spa was flooded with customers.
"I can’t believe it," Fang Duobing said in disbelief as he watched people go in and out.
His mother’s plan was to put Di Feisheng at the entrance and show off his chest, thus attracting women and girls, thus creating an interest in the spa by bringing other customers.
And so it had been. Di Feisheng was leaning against the counter with his arms folded with a bored expression on his face, drawing everyone’s attention.
"But how did he convince A-Fei?"
"I convinced him," Li Lianhua explained as he positioned himself next to him.
Fang Duobing turned to him curious.
"How?"
"A favor in exchange for a secret"
Fang Duobing raised a confused eyebrow.
"I thought you were done keeping secrets."
"Let’s say it’s not really a secret"
Fang Duobing was about to push the issue when his mother called him across the hall.
"Fang Xiaobao, I have another idea, take off your clothes!"
Li Lianhua next to him burst out laughing.
"Mother!" the boy exclaimed, turning red on his face.
"Oh come on, put all your hard work into martial arts in to use!"
"MOTHER"
