Dick: Alfred knew what it was too!

Bruce: He was in the war he has an excuse! Did you do drugs with... ROY?!

Tim: Bruce, chill.

Bruce: I will chill as I make a call.

Bruce sat down, grabbing the landline phone and dialing a number. Dick sat in his seat, his eyes darting nervously.

Dick (thought voice over): I paid him... I should be fine.

While Bruce talked to Jason on the phone Tim yanked his brother to his side.

Tim (whispering): Who gave it to you, why, was it Roy, and do I need to handle your rehab stay?

Dick (pulling away): I'm not on drugs!

Tim (incredulous): Anymore?

Dick: Never was. I never was! Roy will vouch for me!

Bruce: Let's hear what Roy has to say.

Bruce put the call on speaker and all that could be heard was Jason cackling. Roy's frustrated sighing could be heard in the background.

Bruce: All right, Jason's cackling too much to answer. Roy... repeat what you said to me!

Roy: It was one party and he was stupid enough to want to try it once with me. I was already heavily addicted and even I told him not to try it. That hospital stay afterwards made him not touch it again.

Jason laughed.

Jason: Tell the other part... tell him.

Roy: He did smoke a lot of weed in his college years.

Bruce: He... WHAT?!

Roy (chuckling): Whoops forgot to tell you that earlier.

Dick (angry stuttering): I- I- I fucking paid you not to tell anybody.

Roy: And I said that wasn't guaranteed if I ever got clean! The money is gone now.

Jason: On drugs you bitch.

Roy (laughing): Shut it.

Bruce (monotone): Okay, Dick, five second head start, and then I tackle you and give you a drug test.

Dick ran out of the room as Bruce counted down. Bruce hung up the phone then chased after his eldest son. Alfred entered the office carrying a tray of small coffee cups.

Alfred: What's going on?

Tim (taking a coffee cup): Bruce found out Dick used drugs in the past and he's giving him a drug test.

Dick (running the other way): I was just a young boy!

Bruce (following behind him): SHAMEFUL!

Tim took a sip from his coffee, nodding at the good taste.

Tim: Did you use heroin?

Alfred: What happened in the undocumented war stays in that war. That and it was the old days, I stopped using it after I moved to America.

Tim (shook his head with a smile): I'm glad I'm not addicted to anything.

okay but the fact that we hear all about kaveh's life post-fall out with alhaitham, the fact he graduated, worked at construction firms and continued taking on others' burdens, had a hard time finding solo work because of how arts are perceived in sumeru, that he went to his mother's wedding in fontaine, that he took a vacation from work because he was stifled by the environment and felt he had lost motivation and worth as an artist, was determined to complete the palace of alcazarzaray at the cost of everything he owned just to have a tangible object of his efforts and view of art only for its outcome to further emaciate him, until he meets alhaitham for the first time in years, is understood at once, has no need to don a front as he does for everyone else in his life, is listened to, is challenged once more and reinvigorated in his perception of his ideals, is offered a second chance, a home, and accepts it, although he cannot comprehend why alhaitham would offer such a thing and yet not ask anything of relevant substance in return, other than rent

all of this, and we hear virtually nothing of alhaitham's life post-fall out with kaveh, besides his graduation and his taking on the job of the scribe. his character stories omit this part of his life whereas kaveh's is full of detail and emotion, mostly suffering. the first instance we see of alhaitham in this time is from kaveh's perspective when the two meet again in the tavern, and in this alhaitham endeavours to understand kaveh once more, before offering his house - the research centre previously allocated to the both of them for the success of their joint thesis before they fell apart - to kaveh.

we don't know why alhaitham moved out of his grandmother's house and into the research centre, why he renovated it from a research centre into a livable home, only that he did so after kaveh informed alhaitham through a third party that he was not in need of a house, nor do we know his thought processes and emotions in the years spent apart - the years that are carefully documented in kaveh's character stories. the image we are presented with is that of stasis; alhaitham pursues no other close friendships, he works as the scribe, owns a nice house within sumeru, is financially secure, and functions within, and carries out, his own ideals - is content with this way of life. in this, from alhaitham's perspective, there are no details necessary to give from this time

but in inviting kaveh to live with him, his character stories tell us that what he gains by doing so is the mirror of himself, both in personality and scholarly thinking, and in this, he is able to gain an enhanced view of the world, which otherwise would be limited. with kaveh being present in alhaitham's life, alhaitham believes that his vision is perfected, whereas it could not be before, with kaveh's absence. it is in this that we hear what alhaitham has been missing in his life, and ultimately, it is kaveh, not just as a scholar, but as a person

what is omitted from alhaitham's character stories is provided in kaveh's character stories; where we hear about kaveh's struggles, we don't hear about alhaitham's. perhaps this is because alhaitham did not struggle as kaveh did in terms of realising and achieving his ideals, but instead his struggles were in silence, recognising that his vision, and himself, had been compromised because he had rejected the ideals that served to enhance his own vision, that he had inadvertently rejected, and thus had been rejected by, kaveh.

so scar's first origin was totally a witch right?

he had these distinct particles, which people thought was for an Enderian, and in the ep he was hiding from the rain, but 1.) the particles are wrong (enderian are more powdery and slowly fall down, while his sparkle and fly up) and 2.) he literally swam in water later and was fine.

but i just downloaded the modpack and got a random origin, which looked. familiar.

same particles and everything. so i looked at what i got and it turned out to be the witch,

so i think it's totally what he got. aside from the particles, if you don't use your ability or drink a potion, all it does is scare villagers. super easy to overlook. totally possible he just got it accidentally at the start and never noticed its effects before he died.

so. i've been thinking probably way much about bucky's attachment/abandonment issues bc they're soooo loud to me like he clings to people so hard!!! he wants to be chosen!!! him asking gale "did you miss me?" after spending objectively not that much time apart half joking but half sincere bc he's used to people getting tired of him and leaving so he has to make sure.

And it makes gale saying no to london even more of a Big Deal. and paulina leaving him the morning after even when he asked her to stay!!! and lil kissing him but getting with dye!! and once again feeling rejected in the stalag when gale won't leave with him, won't even entertain the thought of it !! andddd not having anyone writing him letters, possibly not even his family for reasons we don't get to know but probably are a big part of why he has attachment issues

i've already said this but i'll say it again even though he's confident/cocky at times he doesn't... like himself . or has a lot of regard for his own life which we literally see in the show. he was Capital S Suicidal – bc of the stalag obviously but come on he drinks like crazy and gambles and smokes even before things get Really Bad. and the plane wing sceneeeee you don't goad your friend !! not even a random person but a Friend into hitting you if you're a well adjusted individual. And he was ready to give up fr when gale went down. he did not want to bail out with brady!!! AND him risking his eye to get gale a bike (which while yeah crazy yaoi moment . to me also ties into him needing to be wanted/needed so people won't leave him) so yeah clearly not huge on self preservation which at least in my perception is something that stems from self hatred

all of these rejections (even if justified at times) are probably a series of blows to his perception of himself/sense of self and just reaffirm to him in his head that he's not good enough and he is right to expect to be left by the people he loves. and he tries to stop that by clinging as hard as he can and not being expendable/replaceable. but if they do leave he can rationalize it because if everyone leaves him clearly it's his fault, he's the one lacking – which feeds his recklessness and self destructive coping mechanisms even more

Seen a few people too many discuss the concept of Dragodile Baby 2 and my hot take is that there's no way in hell Crocodile would ever detransition just to go through nine months of horrible dysphoria again, let alone go through pregnancy ever again (or allow Ivankov to even touch him, what if they died and weren't able to trans Croc's gender again afterwards? Hell naw, ain't worth the risk)
