I think we all would of loved an Arcane trilogy, but honestly even if that wasn't in the picture for whatever reason, an extra 3 episodes around the middle of the series probably would have solved most issues. All the right story beats were there, they just didn't give the characters enough time to breath or the audience time to adjust to a new status quo.
In particular I think Caitlyn and Jayces story arcs needed to be expanded on the most as they were the worst offenders in the flubbed theme department. We at the very least needed some more scenes of Caitlyn experiencing some sort of dawning horror over the fact her crusade against Jinx/the undercity was turning her into a the exact kind of monster she claimed to despise, and actively making both sides of the city a worse place to live. As for Jayce- I can't help but feel that maybe in an earlier draft, he was supposed to be temporarily disabled by that big cut to his spine he got in Act 1. It would have made sense since his character is meant to be a mirror of Viktor, and his final speech at the end would have felt more earned.
Also Mel and Vander needed waaay more screen time/development and it was criminal that they deprived us of the planned Ekko & Jinx team up scenes.
Honestly its a real shame because in many ways Arcane as it is, is still an absolute masterpiece and I enjoyed every second of watching it. Unfortunately the powers that be just didn't give the creative team enough time to completely pull off everything they seem to have planned.
Tired and on medication so all I will say for now is - Arcane will go down as one of the best shows ever made, and has changed my life and the way I view media (particularly animated media) forever, absolutely no doubt about that. Also, hats off and major kudos to both the writers and the animators for achieving what they did with the time that they had. They knocked it out of the park.
However, and I will expand on this later, I do still think that Arcane's pacing issues, unexplored themes or sideplots, lack of more character interactions and rushed storylines could have all been fixed with one more season. 'The Arcane Trilogy' just seems like an absolute no brainer to me.

Hey, do you have any tips for historical detective fiction?
(I would like to draw inspiration from our own history but create an Alternate Universe cause I'm too afraid to get things wrong, might as well make a new country or something from scratch with it's own history.)
Writing Notes: Historical Detective Fiction
Historical detective fiction is an important sub-category of historical fiction in general. As such, it should be judged by the same criteria applied to historical fiction; namely, that a certain verisimilitude is present.
All the events depicted may not have actually happened but the reader should believe that they could have happened.
Moreover, when real events are mingled with fictional ones, that mixing must appear to be natural.
Additionally, real historical characters must act in accordance with their distinguishing characteristics and in conformity with what we know about them.
Martin and Annette Meyers, authors of the Dutchman detective series, know and adhere to these standards.
Their careful adaptation of their novels to the demands of the historical genre has made them a model of historical detective writing.
Using the Fantasy Fiction Continuum, Historical Fiction edges a little further into the realm of Fantastical.
The author describes a past world that modern readers are unfamiliar with by painting mental pictures of times, locations, customs & cultures that no longer exist.
Some Tips from a Historical Fiction Writer:
The big hook for many readers is that the history is real and many of the characters did walk the Earth. But that means readers want it to be accurate. They will be quick to pick on poor research and ‘iffy’ twists on reality and time. But you will sometimes get it wrong – or reality just messes your story. Writing tips for any aspiring authors in this genre are:
Never give up on researching
Keep learning and developing
Accept all feedback – even the highly critical is useful
If you need to twist reality – be honest
People who point out your mistakes can seem pernickety, but they are generally of good intention. Even if not – pretend they are and keep a reader
Common Elements of Historical Fiction
Setting: The setting is the most important part of a historical fiction novel. It should take place during an authentic period in history and be set in a real historical place. For example, New York City during the Great Depression or Paris, France during World War II.
Plot: The plot in a historical fiction novel is a combination of real events and fictional events. You can invent characters, cities, and events, but they still must make sense to the time period. For example, a novel set in London, England in 1666 would benefit from incorporating the Great Fire of London, a major turning point in the city’s history.
Characters: The characters can be real, fictional, or both, but they should all look, speak, and act in ways that accurately reflect the era. For example, if you are writing a book about Mary Tudor, it shouldn’t disregard or reinvent her family history as the daughter of Henry VIII and sister to Elizabeth I, who both played an important role in Mary’s reign.
Dialogue: The dialogue must be authentic to the time period and should reflect the status of the characters who are speaking. For example, British soldiers in the Revolutionary War wouldn’t use Western slang of today.
Conflict: The problems the characters encounter should be conflicts people of that era would encounter. For example, your book might describe the hesitation and fear German soldier feels as he is to the Eastern Front, where he knows he is likely to die.
Tips for Writing Historical Fiction
Free write to brainstorm ideas. If you’re interested in writing historical fiction but don’t know where to start, spend 15 minutes writing in your notebook about a period or historical event you’re interested in rendering in fiction. Note any assumptions you have about the period, cultural depictions of it in other books and films, and what specifically interests you about this moment in history.
Find an interesting way into a time period. Consider using a historical time period as a backdrop and placing fictional characters and events within that world. Or, choose a historical event and create fictional characters who experienced it and whose lives were affected by it
Do your research. In addition to getting the historical facts correct, the smaller details are important, too. Write an inventory of the details in your work that you haven’t researched but should check. Likely, these will be small things—for example, the color of refrigerators—whose accuracy will keep a reader interested and make your story more credible.
Build a world. World-building makes a historical fiction books more authentic and gives readers a reason to keep coming back. Include details about the world in which your story takes place to give readers historical context and balance those exotic details with familiar, relatable ones to keep the story grounded. However, don’t add information just to add it; make sure every part of your world-building advances the story.
Don’t get bogged down in dialogue. Different historical eras have different vocabulary and grammatical structures. Include occasional words and phrases to reinforce the historical setting, but don’t include so many that the novel becomes difficult to read and less enjoyable.
Add fictional characters. Even if you’re writing about true events, you can take some creative liberties. Introducing fictional characters to complement those based on actual historical figures can help you move the story along, inject personality, and keep it entertaining.
Choose which of these tips for historical fiction work best for your story and incorporate them with elements of Detective Fiction.

Ask Compilation: Blondes, feet, bowl-cut guardian lady.
He did not, they never had sex. But he was in love with her.
For sure. I think she struck him more like a teenager with the black hair and bangs, after the change (both visual and in attitude) she became a far more mature AND attractive person in his eyes.
PFFT, well, if you're saying they meet ALL of the criteria, I assume you mean both in looks and personality and hence be damn near his soulmate. DU drow could overlook weird feet (and a lot of other things, actually) if he were in love with the person in question. He would probably gently request they take better care of them, though.
Nothing special there, I'm afraid! He just has human-like skin - perhaps a little on the oily side but completely within the bounds of normality.
He runs a little hot, if that's anything. Oh! His hair is shockingly soft.
Correct! DU drow only (arguably) looks like a drow. He doesn't have their usual bone structure, height, or associated magical proclivities. He has some dark vision but its nowhere near as good as a drow's either.
I don't necessarily think all Bhaalspawn are the same way, but the Dark Urge IS quite different from the previous game's iterations. DU isn't simply Bhaal's child conceived with a partner, he's a piece of the god that supposedly slobbed off and grew legs and a face, pretty much. So yes, I do think that the Dark Urge at least is it's own unique thing.
The reason why he looks like a drow, is because he was placed in the Underdark upon creation. The metaphor I always use here is that if you place something infantile in a biome that is alien to it, it may try to adapt to it's environment to survive as it develops, to different degrees of success. This is why DU drow looks the way he does.
[MORE UNDER THE CUT]
You're welcome!
I've received a few snippets here that you can find through the #gift art tag! There is also the fic I'm in the process of writing called A Novel Experience on AO3.
It was just something I was compelled to do when I first drew him! The facial scars felt like they should lead into something else so I just made up a pattern on the spot, minus a tiny tweak here or there, it has stuck basically unchanged. All and any lore relating to the scars came later.
I get a lot of sweet messages but "thanks for your man's penis size" has to be one of my favorites. Thank you!
HELLO!
Thank you so much for the kind message! And that sounds like a fun dream, I love that your Tav got jealous of the attention ASTARION was receiving instead of mad that he had to share in the first place LOL
DU drow is desperately monogamous. He doesn't care what other people do with their lives but he's very much a "one and done" kind of person.
He would be willingly to participate in a threeway/have group sex with a partner, assuming the rules and regulations of said encounter were laid out clearly before or at least mutually understood between them. He would never want to see these people again after the fact though.
She does not, naturally I had no idea that this character was going to turn into anything when i made him, so I just... Made a lady. And since she was supposed to be a "guardian" I gave her a Joan of Arc type of look.
I've occasionally thought about changing this, but... Y'know, sometimes you don't need lore to be that in-depth, LOL.
The emperor gave everyone else a nondescript hottie he assumed they would trust, DU drow just got the same treatment. She's not even DU drow's type but definitely someone he would be compelled to take seriously yet not feel threatened by - so ultimately, her design does make sense.
---
That's all I have the energy for tonight folks, as always thank you for the many encouraging and sweet messages you send me, I'm sorry I can't reply to all of them! 😭
Have yourselves a great week!

haikyuu characters but its just some of the most out of pocket quotes my roommate has recorded me saying mid-conversation:
Tanaka, probably loudly in conversation with Noya: "I could body a racoon."
Asahi: "If spiders developed wings, I would immediately check myself into a hospital. I would be a danger to myself and others."
Suga, offhandedly to Hinata when he finds out it's his birthday: "Statistically, you're more likely to die on your birthday. So... watch out."
Daichi, sometimes post timeskip talking about Kuroo: "nothing a twenty-five year old does isn't a ponzi scheme."
Iwaizumi, mid-Godzilla related conversation: "Me and Mothra have always had a special connection though."
Yabaha, at Kyotani: "If you're ever in a situation where you need to be escorted by an ambulance and you're feeling pain? GOOD."
Ushijima: "It's coming to the springtime. The sheep will be born."
Tendou, overheard in passing while mid-conversation with the other stz third years: "I don't think any other sub-class of human lays eggs."
Kenma, probably taken out of context about a video game but overheard by a very baffled Kuroo: "I may not be a follower, but I do love cults."
Bokuto, in an (playful) argument with Akaashi: "What the fuck would you do if I ate the declaration of independence?"
Tsukishima, chiming into a conversation he was barely listening to: "the last time the U.S got involved, fuckin' Berlin got cut in half."
Kita, unprompted probably: "Agriculture controls everything."
Mika (about Daishou): "Compared to other fairytales, he was an incredibly respectful snake."
Oikawa, texting Iwa at 5 am: "I hate that bamboo is real."
Hinata, loudly, probably because he forgot to bring his gatorade: "Humans were not made to consume water!"
Yachi, probably having stomach problems: "surely with all the synthetic science they have now they can make a burger product that doesn't make me wanna kill myself."

After Sinsmas I’m fuckin done with Helluva Boss. What could’ve have been a fun premise with compelling themes of socialism and classism sprinkled in between has become a melodramatic sobfest for the creator’s pet who everyone in the narrative must bend over to no matter what
I just made a post feeling the same way.
Helluva's premise could have been simple here is just rewrite of it:
Blitz, an imp who is at bottom of the social hierarchy wants to make a name for himself. He gets the idea of becoming an assassin who kills humans for sinners. He meets Moxxie and Millie and they joined him, Moxxie wants to get away from his toxic past and Millie wants to prove herself to her family. Blitz does not have the ability to go to Earth and fails at getting a crystal from Ozzie (Unknown to Blitz. he is ex-crush/friend Fizz is Ozzie's boyfriend), he learns an Ars Goetia named Stolas has a book that allows demons to travel to Earth. To make his dream a reality, he makes a deal with the sex repressed prince. Blitz has to be Stolas' escort and have sex with him once a month. Blitz does not tell his co-workers about this deal. After spending time with Stolas, he learns how much of a self-absorbed classist he really is. He gets creeped out when Stolas says fetishizing stuff about him being an imp. Blitz hates being around Stolas but does not want to disappoint his co-workers or his adopted daughter. Stolas develops a twisted crush on Blitz, viewing him as a form of escapism from his doomed from the started marriage. He does not care for Blitz as a person but as a sex object to fill his sexual desires. (If I wanted to rewrite Helluva, I would make Loona younger so we can see them bound more as a single father with a young child) Imps around him have tried to start businesses, but they never go far. Failure is not an option for him. Stella finds out about the deal Stolas made with Blitz and uses it as blackmail against him. She knows he will loss his title if it is found out that he has playing around with the lower class. She never loved Stolas but stays in the marriage to protect Octvia meeting the same fate as her (being a baby making machine) and if she divorces Stolas, she will be left with nothing.
I feel like a decent writer should have made this show's premise work and still being entertaining without becoming melodramatic. Like I mention in the post I linked, Blitz and Stolas are the main reason I am losing interest. I know stans go "IT IS CALLED HELLUVA BOSS!! OF COURSE BLITZ GETS MOST OF THE FOCUS!!!" Other franchises that are named after a character still give the other characters chances to shine like Sonic, Bluey, SpongeBob, and etc.
I highlighted the episodes of season two where Blitz and Stolas' relationship is a part of the plot.
Out of eleven episodes, only four is not about those two. If their relationship was spaced out more, giving other relationships and dynamics the spotlight, I would not have a problem with it.
The narrative doing backflips to make their relationship work grinds my gears. There is nothing romantic about it, the relationship's foundation is built off of sex and at worst, sexual coercion. I keep asking this question but what does Stolas see in Blitz outside of "being good in bed"? Same goes for Blitz. Blitz is a damaged person; the last thing he needs is to get into a relationship. I fear that the show will go in the direction that all of Blitz will heal from his trauma once he marries Stolas or some shit. Getting into a relationship will not solve your problems. People are not Band-Aids.
It is pure melodrama. We all know that Blitz and Stolas are going to get together. Seeing them lukewarm trials and tribulations so they can be together is wasting our time.
They should have gotten together in at the end of season 1. and maybe season two should have been about the hardships of their relationship of a prince falling in love with someone who lower status. I think their relationship would have worked if Stolas was not an imp fetishizer and got called out more on his classism and if Blitz is less of an unpleasant jerk and was just someone who always have their guards up due to being hurt by others in the past.
Helluva seems like an easy show to write about, why are Viv, Brandon, and Adam fumbling the bag so hard???
Off topic under the cut:
I wonder if someone reworked the show into being about humans.
Brad, man of color becomes a hit man to support himself and his adopted daughter. He wants his young daughter to have a better life than he said growing up. He gets anonymously hire to kill a wealthy higher class White man named Seth. (The anonymous person was Seth's wife, Stella). Brad gets caught by Seth but instead of reporting him to the police, Seth makes a deal with Brad that he will be his personal hit man, killing all of his business rivals. The downside is that he must do sexual favors for/on Seth.

Since you have the best takes ever: why do you like Jimmy and Tango as characters?
Oh gosh uh, I never really thought about that within their characters rather than why they’re my favorite creators.
They’re two of my favorite creators because of their silly energy and how well they bounce off of other people. I enjoy solo content a lot, but they make group content just as amazing and not overstimulating (Jimmy has done this a few times on stream where if the people he’s playing with get really loud in voice chat he’ll back off). I just really love the silly dorkiness they both bring to the table, even as much as I joke that I hate when Jimmy talks brainrot, it’s endearing. They also have some of the best and welcoming experiences with the community. Jimmy is really active with the fandom in twitter, and he always has a segment at the start of stream where he says hello to chat and reads names out. Jimmy also dedicated a portion of stream to scrolling through the reddit and reading what people have to say, compliment their art, and look at memes. Likewise, Tango is always saying hello and goodbye to people in chat when they come and go and It really feels like they actually recognize names in the community. A lot of streamers don’t read chat like that if really at all / the real big streamers tend to only read donations or recognize donators.
I obviously really like their characters because I am so infatuated with the creators themselves, but I think the main reason their characters are also my two favorites is because of their character development throughout the series.
Jimmy is bullied by almost the entire server, some of his own teammates don’t take him seriously, and they’ll go behind his back. He has a streak of dying first, but despite it he has really improved and grown. It’s not just about his placement or how many kills he has but his interactions with others. He’s really started putting his foot down and trying not to let himself be used as a verbal and physical punching bag. He’s always been a survivor and someone who does better on the defensive rather than offensive, and I’m glad we got to see him go crazy with some kills this season.
Tango is someone who sticks with what he knows. He’s never known stability, but the one thing that is constant is who he teams up with- even if it’s not in his best interest. He was playing both all sides in 3rd life, betrayed by his team in last life, and then in double life he had found someone who’s kind of like him that he could trust and actually hold on to. Then in limited life he was ready to sacrifice himself to make sure his time went to his team. He decided that, and I really think “For TIES!” was just the beginning of him putting his foot down. I think he learned to let go, not forgive or forget. He actually felt disappointed this season when he saw Bdubs was chasing him down trying to kill him. He knew from the very start that their team wasn’t a “real team”, and that it would only lead to a betrayal or “kill me if Bdubs needs it later.” He didn’t really accept what their team was, but he came to terms with what it entailed and it wasn’t even Bdubs who was going after him but Grian’s mimicking ability. I’m never getting over that moment…
There’s probably more moments and other things I could mention about their character developments, but I haven’t rewatched any of the series recently except for Double Life, so it’s been a while, and I have goldfish brain…

*~* Spoilers for Mastermind ~*~
Everyone who was all up in arms that Stolas was being babied by the narrative and was getting away with having classist views I need you all to come front row and center for the next couple episodes. Put on your thinking caps and try your hands at media literacy because I believe we are entering the next arc of Stolas's character development.
There were some less than subtle clues in this episode, specifically the way the two of them were treated in their court case. Stolas, who despite everything does view himself and Blitz as equals, expected to receive execution, the same at Blitz. He went in there fully expecting to die in Blitz's place and was legitimately shocked when Satan essentially said "What are you crazy? We aren't killing you- You're royalty. Your life actually matters."
Now that Stolas is banished, the Imps clearly have no fear of retribution and seem to be using this as their excuse to take out their grievances with the upper class. I don't even know if they have a particular beef with Stolas or just in general but he is now within their reach so he's become their punching bag. But, if this goes the way I'd like it to, this gives Stolas the unique opportunity to get a first hand look at what life is like for the commoners. And maybe if they can stop throwing shit at him, he'd be able to hear them out. Learn and grow and improve. And then if he gets his title back later he will be a better leader with a better understanding of his people.
Stolas was never intentionally cruel, he was just pretty out of touch. And while this lesson will be hard for him I think it will be better for him in the end.

Stage whispers: *He liked the mustache!*
(Interview from Us Weekly, by Yana Grebenyuk)
Rivals fans aren’t the only ones who developed an appreciation for Declan’s mustache — so did Aidan Turner.
“It’s so funny. I don’t think I’ve told anyone this yet. But usually whether it’s a costume or facial hair or an accent, I’m always very eager to let them go when the job is done,” Turner, 41, who plays the beloved character on the hit Hulu series, exclusively told Us Weekly. “It feels almost inappropriate to be walking around wearing a costume piece from the character. You want to get out of the city and out of the thing and just leave it all behind. But I found this one quite tricky.”
Turner recalled finding ways not to say goodbye to Declan and his iconic facial hair.
“I was making an excuse with the showrunner Dominic [Treadwell-Collins]. I was saying, ‘I need to keep this mustache for a few weeks because we have reshoots.’ And he said, ‘OK, maybe a week or so.’ And sure enough we did do some reshoots,” he recalled. “But I remember at the time thinking, ‘I really don’t want to get rid of this.’ And when the reshoots were done, I think I kept it for another week when I didn’t need to.”
After having so much fun bringing Declan to life, Turner didn't want to let go of the character or his signature stash, adding, “I kind of lied to a few friends saying that they might call us back for more reshoots. I wasn’t ready to get rid of it — and that’s never happened to me before. I think the universe does tell us things and there’s something in that. There’s a reason why I didn’t want to get rid of it. I enjoyed the show so much and I really responded to this character and I didn’t want the world to be over.”
Fans — and the cast — are still awaiting news of a possible renewal. But if and when Turner gets a call about another season, the actor said he would be ready to start growing the mustache back.
“I delayed ridding myself of the character before the next job, which is strange. But yeah, I did that,” he shared. “[Growing it for season 2] would be a really fun thing. I can’t wait to grow it again. I’d love that.”
Based on Jilly Cooper's novel of the same name, Disney+ and Hulu’s Rivals centers around a feud between two men fighting for control of a television station in 1980s Britain. In addition to Turner, Rivals stars ensemble cast David Tennant, Katherine Parkinson, Victoria Smurfit, Alex Hassell, Bella MacLean, Nafessa Williams, Emily Atack and Danny Dyer.
Word about Rivals traveled fast, with many viewers tuning in for the age gap romance between Rupert (Hassell) and Taggie (MacLean). Fans then stuck around for Turner’s performance as Declan, a journalist trying to balance being a present father and husband with his drive to tell stories that mattered.
“It’s always lovely [to hear how well-received the show and Declan is]. Any actor who says he doesn’t want to hear nice things like that, I don’t believe them. It’s always nice to hear those things, especially in the early days of a show being released,” he told Us. “I’ve been aware of how it’s been received in this country [in the U.K.], which has been really positive.”
Turner, who has been in the industry for nearly two decades, knew Rivals was something special.
“There’s a funny thing that happens when you’ve done a fair bit of work over 20 years. You land the plane on some things and some you completely miss the airport,” he quipped. “When you do land the plane, you start hearing from people that you’ve not heard from in a little while. My friends whom I haven’t spoken to in months have just emailed me saying they love the show. And it’s like, ‘Wow, it must be really touching people.”
Turner continued: “But not having the social media element, it does keep you very much out of the loop. But I love to hear that it’s being received on a really positive level. … I suppose to some degree it is always still a surprise when people respond to a show and really like it.”
While Turner saw the potential with Rivals, he knew the public’s reception and reaction was out of his hands.
“You wish great things for your project, especially [with] U.S. It’s such a huge market of English speakers so it’s a very big territory for that market. But you just see how people respond,” he noted. “Being an actor there is a lot of disappointment and some shows you think will travel that don’t — and you get confused by that. I just gave up years ago trying to figure out what the business wants and what the markets pick. So it’s so lovely to hear you say these things though [about the support]. It puts a real smile on my face.”
Rivals is currently streaming on Hulu and Di5ney+.

Honestly, once more I feel some of the fandom really only cared about the shipping and not the actual characters.
Like, seeing people go "Katsuki is going to be pining and alone forever" actually makes me feel insulted on his behalf.
Was Katsuki only an appealing character to some of you because of "pining"? Who said that he was going to be alone forever?
I see people saying so much I'm starting to think it's being secretly manifested because it's what some of you want. I know some folks like that Katsuki angst. Don't you want him happy?
Sooo.... his development wasn't important? Was he only important to you if he and Izuku were together? Am I the only one who is happy that they at least are on talking terms?
Seeing Izuku talking to Ochako isn't enough for me to go "Katsuki is heartbroken forever", I'm sorry. The duo (Izuku and Ochako) are not standing in wedding clothes and exchanging vows.
Was it forgotten that MHA is a popular Shonen? The target audience is geared towards a young male audience, so yeah, we weren't going to get canon BakuDeku and instead Izuku talking with Uraraka.
Which was it is. Talking. Just talking.
Was they not allowed to do that???
Shoot, I needed everyone to talk because they haven't been able to do it!
Who know what's crazy? If Katsuki was the one to advise Izuku to talk to Ochako, that makes me realize that at some point, Izuku and Katsuki did have the talk they needed to get to the point that they're comfortable enough to give the other advice and be close again.
Like "hey, we talked it out, so now it's time you talk it out with her... man, we all need to get it together".
I thought making amends is a present idea in the story. Some of these characters need(ed) to do that. Katsuki and Izuku wasn't the only pair now.
Personally, given the target audience, it would be so funny if Horikoshi was sitting there sketching like "I'm gonna give these two the most 'dap me up' handhold ever". This feels like him going "Fine, I'll give what is wanted but not everything".
Something tells me he didn't even want to have an epilogue.
#horikoshi probably didn't even show that talk because he knows this fandom doesn't deserve it#no no some of you make not being in a fandom fun at all because you just jump to the worst#i get having a criticism like if the development seems off or pacing is a bit rushed#stuff like that#but come on this extreme behavior is wild#for all we know katsuki and izuku are freaking roommates#how can katsuki lose when he pretty much already won?#meanwhile ochako over here is still thinking about another girl and twinning bangs with tsuyu#that talk is probably ochako and izuku going 'oh we're messes but you know what we can clean up let's get to work'#probably won't even have time to even date IZUKU HAS TWO JOBS NOW FOR CRYING OUT LOUD#boom they're all single how about that!#just kiya's thoughts#bnha#mha#boku no hero academia#my hero academia#bnha spoilers#bnha manga spoilers#bakudeku#bnha epilogue#mha epilogue#midoriya izuku#bakugou katsuki

I've been waiting the whole day for this, now I gotta yap about the new Tender Moment! (۶〒▽〒)۶
Can I just say I LOVE THE STORY CONTAINED?!
There's so much small details and references... also like the footstep sfx, MC was walking and then you can hear the footsteps quicken into a short run... 😭❤
AND THEN THERE'S THE BGM AGAIN...! AT THE END! I CANTTTTTT
Spoilers for those who haven't listened to it so... into the read more it goes!
First off, just their classic domesticity at play. Xavier casually calling MC asking when they'll be home 🥺
And then... this?! The staff just automatically assumes them to be taking it back together and instead of asking if they want their stuff to be separate or put together...
Staff be like, they look close. Probably a couple. Let's just ask if they want it in the same bag. AND XAVIER WITHOUT SKIPPING A BEAT SAID SURE! LIKE! Meanwhile MC was just being all ???? 😭😂
Xavier has no doubts. Nothing to ponder. Everything about it felt natural to him. Their things being together.
Mr good-with-kids Xavier at it again uwu
and the way MC calls Xavier a youngster 😂
And then this parttttt
It's not transcribed but the ad was basically something about 21 days to form a new habit and promoting this vitamin drink. (Funky Fuel....? now with more electrolytes???? 😭)
And this was when Xavier repeated that line about 21 days to form a new habit. Makes me wonder... did this card happen before 21 Days Memory then? (It feels like it) And then he brought it up again during the events of the 21 Days Memory. Afterall, Xavier does like to pick up on things and bring it up again later, be it books or anything else. (But also yes! a 21 Days memory reference ToT)
The later section when MC was talking about some habits that Xavier has, Xavier has reasons for those and it's all related to MC... Like 🥺
MC is so integrated into his life by this point, every little thing relates to MC. Except for the rubbing on the corner of a book page and the one about where he starts eating the bread from. That was just him unconsciously doing it.
And MC naming the little astronaut Xavier too 😭😭😭😭 because it reminds MC of him...! ahhhh
Then comes this whole section that is just obviously outright referencing Xavier himself. I can't even... I don't even know where to begin?????!
The way the astronaut is trying to return to his planet, being in the shop window for a month and Xavier says that he looks like he's lost
Him pulling this line...?!
But of course MC puts a little spin to answer his question.
And Xavier doing this little action... It's like he's reassuring himself in a sense. What he's doing, he's doing it for MC and he will keep going (even if it runs him into the ground... Now I'm remembering the ending line from WorldUnderneath and .... இ௰இ )
Anyways, MC just remembering this memory and grinning. UGH CUTE! SO CUTE 😩
And then MC just started running towards Xavier after noticing him...! you can hear it in the sound effects! Like MC was excited to see him. They're just so in love
And of course Xavier and his classic excuses. Love that he admits that it was a bad excuse this time though! 🤣 Does this count as character development too? That he doesn't feel the need to really hide much of his intention to just want to meet MC and continue their little habit of buying bread and walking back home together at that intersection.
(Also in CN Xavier also said an extra "Let's just pretend what I said just now was wrong. Let me try again" in the previous line about it)
SO. DANG. CUTE. PLEASE! 💗_(´ཀ`」 ∠)_
AND THE DEVS!!!!?!?!?! HELLOOOOO???!!!!!
The moment it was MC saying this line, Celestial Serenade plays! OIIIIII!! D':< SURE I DON'T NEED MY HEART
The way that BGM plays as this little astronaut that was seemingly lonely, was not alone anymore, with flowers (that I'm sure represents MC)... RUDE! It's good! Well played! But still, rude! >:'3
And MC just also, without any hesitation or question, resonates with Xavier 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Also this though 🤣 Sorry MC, our astronaut, while I don't think he was hit by an asteroid; he was definitely sucked into a black hole... a deepspace tunnel specifically. And he definitely lost his way. BUT. He found it again 😭💕💕💕💕
Okay... one last thing. Again, just me being curious about the localization 👀
For the line in EN "It's wonderful that I can light up your world"
Maybe I'm just not native enough to the Mainlands to catch the nuance behind the CN line? But that line in CN, MC never ever mentioned specficially who the subject is. Feel like I really might be missing something here. Gonna need an expert for this 😂
Oh, but the line "Not expecting me to do that, ...", in CN it was more of "Not expecting me to bring this up, ..." or "Not expecting me to say that, ..."
I just find the EN line a bit awkward when MC didn't do anything. All MC did was say "Wonderful" right before this
Aight, time for me to end this here and go to bed. I probably missed out something... or missed out saying something... but am sleepy c': I'll see if there's any other add-ons tmr.
Loosing blood is no fun and I'm super sleepy thanks to that ~(>_<。)\
Ah... wait... one last thought...
CAN Y'ALL BOTH JUST ADOPT THE LIL ASTRONAUT AND FLOWERS??? 😭 may just the whole window display! It sounds so adorable and it'll fit into their home or something...! Well, I mean, I would for sure.

Hello. I have notice something in MHA for the series having idea about reverting the tropes of classic hero comics trope it actually have very less morally ambiguous characters who don't side with hero and villain faction of the MHA world and even less having impact on the story narration and its core theme and let alone characters who the story don't paint as character who infact a good points but are not too violent or even self sacrificing. I genuinely wish there were more morally ambiguous characters who either are not hero or villain. For example, Lady Nagant is one of my favourite characters for the same reason. A pro hero who was got disillusioned due to the HPSC and saw the truth of the society and kill the HSPC president. More characters like her who don't fit in any of the MHA worlds morals alignment or how society fit people or hell even characters who actively reject the title of hero and villain and the very definition of it, the MHA society put in and the traditional morality. There's very few moments where fluidity in morality for characters dynamic is allow but the narrative don't give it more appropriate focus. Morally ambiguous characters whose personality, ideology and how they act don't fit in any way possible in the box of hero and villain definition the story put in. Morally ambiguous characters who don't need saving or need to save others narratives wise but make both Izuku and Tomura questions their own goal and why they are taking action. Scenes of lady nagant where she was talking about hero society real truth with Izuku was my favourite from my series. And I actually wish the story has more moments like these with Tomura where someone probe him why destruction is his ideology. Because Destruction is equal to Creation. Where Tomura draw line in destroying every thing? Is it because he personally want it or AFO influence?
What I want to say I actually wish there was more characters whose morals alignment were in the line of neutrality and impact the narration. Because these kind of characters truly make what meant to be a hero and saving someone question even brightly. Make Izuku character as hero more unique, make Tomura 'Villains need their own Hero' more profound and impacting.
But it is just my own opinion and preferences.
Oh I absolutely agree with this!!
For a series that actively tries to show itself subverting the classical superhero trope, it doesn't particularly do it well in the sense of introducing nuance and fulditiy into character morality and fully showing a proper grey space.
MHA does well in presenting morally grey or morally ambiguous situations, but it struggles in presenting morally ambiguous characters that are relevant to the plot.
I say a proper grey space because while the manga claims that vigilantes are morally grey we honestly don't see enough of them in the main manga and the vigilantes manga frames them in a way where there is a clear divide of good and bad vigilante so it just makes the whole point of vigilantes being grey null.
The main cast is all divided into either heroes or villains, with neither one really trying to reject that role and move past it. Ultimately, the heroes within the series try and develop a deeper understanding of heroics, some acknowledging that villains and heroes are the same or that villains also need saving. However, we don't get heroes truly acknowledging the corruption of the society they live in to a full extent. We get some crumbs here and there, for example, ochako realising how bad the quirk counselling system is, Iida realising that to be a true hero, he can not kill a villain because of personal issues and mina realising that both heroes and villains are humans on different sides with the same emotions.
The worldbulding of mha and its flaws aren't at all acknowledged, especially the hpsc side of things. This is why lady nagant stands our so much because she is one of the only character that sees and directly calls out the hpsc and we are shown by her entire character just how damaging and cruel the hpsc and how they harm everyone in the process whether that be heroes, villains and citizens alike by tucking them into a false sense of safety and comfort and indirectly upholding a man who will so soon crumble (all might).
I have already talked about Lady nagant, and it also seems like you acknowledged her character, but truly aside from Lady nagant, there isn't a relevant character who shows morally ambiguity. You can argue that yes, Nedzu is a character who is morally ambiguous, but is he relevant?
The criticisms you hold for izuku and shigaraki's characters are so incredibly valid and are previous criticisms I have mentioned before. How and when will shigaraki stop in this path of destruction? What can be made from nothing?
The same applies to izuku, who holds up the same very system that hurts him and seems to try and climb the system to prove himself to the people while ultimately destroying himself for the hope of better. Izuku never ends up breaking the cycle. Actually, he and mirio (who is now the number one hero) end up fueling the cycle and upholding it ironically enough it looks like history is bound to repeat itself here.
Mha was supposed to subvert the typical superhero narrative that afo and ofa presented and the two main characters who were supposed to be the obvious leaders of this were izuku and shigaraki.
Due to this, its a whole lot more worse when you realise that all of this and the parallels shigaraki and izuku have fall apart due to horikoshi choosing to do what he did in chapter 419 revealing that shigaraki tomura was a puppet all along and that AFO was somehow the big mastermind. This just makes the world feel small and removes all the worldbulding that shigarakis backstory and actions have added to the world of MHA. Pinning the faults all on one man when the world is so much more complex and nuanced than that ultimately removes so much from the story that's supposed to tackle societal issues.
#mha#bnha#mha critical#bnha critical#thanks for the ask#thanks for the ask!#bhna critical#thanks anon#thanks anon!#mha needs more nunace#more morally grey characters#heck the series barely has any character who doesnt fit the black and white morality#there are some but very few and theyre usually not relevant to the plot

This is a very sleep deprived thought—and I don't actually believe it, per se—but.
I've seen a lot of people who are deeply unsatisfied with the retcon of it being Agatha that bound Jen's magic. Mainly, because it felt like shoe-honing. Especially since Agatha made such a point about going out of her way to not kill Jen despite hating her, because she respected her work too much.
I think many interested discussions can be had about this. I've talked about this before—the fact that Jen's character felt sort of neglected in the finale, and the fact a lot of people struggled to connect with her prior to rewatches. (I myself didn't have this problem, but still, my criticisms are still of the same nature-)
So anyway, Agatha probably chose to bind Jen to keep her out of the way, not realising the weight of that, the intersectionality—perhaps not caring about the suggesting very much at all. Because, you're a midwife, Jen. You can still do good. You will do good, just out of my way. And I truly do believe this is how it went.
But what if Agatha hadn't been the one to bind her? What if, in a brief moment of clarity, Agatha locked in to get everyone out? Her movements are always supposed to be calculated, so is carelessness really in her repertoire?
Maybe, just maybe, she heard Jen say that, “I'll be damned if I let one of you two idiots die,” and that triggered her. Maybe because of pride—god knows she was overwhelmed before the final trial and all her walls had come right back up. But the same didn't apply to Jennifer. She had actually changed. Jen had actually re-discovered her worth. She'd remembered who she was, power or not. She was someone Agatha respected in spite of the resentment. Someome who heals, nurtures, helps, does good. Not the vain, surface-level, self-serving fraud—who had previously been on a dark path too similar to Agatha's own, so close to complete cynicism. Lilia had saved Jen from that path and oushed her to be the path ahead. The Obstacles? Agatha.
And Agatha won't accept Jen's help—not after what happened to Alice, which to Agatha's & Billy's eyes alike stands as evidence of the fact she is a monster. She won't even accept to acknowledge her own character development, as a mere episode ago she jumped in front of a sword to save Lilia. She won't, above all, acknowledge that Jen has grown to care about her. Instead, she will do everything tomake that kdea crumble. She will destroy it.
All she needs to do is shape the narrative Billy truly thinks is true, and so it can become the truth. Billy, who created the condition in which it was possible for Alice to break her generational curse. Who found the spirits of Evanora and Nicky alike. All the trials were his limited understanding of the coven & of witch folk. (Jen's was right out of her vision board, she looked like one of her clients—nothing like the rootworker midwife we know she used to be. Alice's is in the seventies, which mathematically makes no sense with her age as she would have been born in the eighties to be the age she is on 2025—but Billy based everything about her trial on Lorna, because that's what he was familiar with. Agatha's mind he couldn't read—all he knew about her was that something happened to her son. So he puts a grown woman in children's clothing, to force therapy on her—and she regresses into the hurt little girl she was at the stake. Lilia, whose mind is the loudest & most easily accessible to Billy, had the most personalised trial, but even then, it latches onto the witch stereotypes that she so desperately hates. All of those do help the girls—minus Agatha—but still don't fully represent them. As for the green witch trial, well, it took him a while to cook it up, because he just found out Rio is death. Anyway, I digress—) My point being, if you can shape Billy's understanding of a situation, you can have some power over what happens. (One trial for each witch, the public transport system, etc.)
Would it be such an impossible stretch to say Agatha painted herself as the villain once more, embracing the part presented to her, the oart most familiar, the oart she knows best to simultaneously reject Jen's offered sisterhood/peace/altruism AND make sure the road gave Jen her powers back? She gets Jen out of the way—go do good again, just out of my way—because she's hellbent on the narrative that Agatha Harkness can't be anything but a covenless witch.
And what's the next thing she does, after assuring Billy that the road took Jen to safety after giving her what she wants?
She tries to get what she wants, because she knows Billy is in no real danger in his own road. Give me a little power-boost, dungeon master, get me out of here, come on. But he doesn't trust her. And if he doesn't trust her—she can't possibly convince him to willingly hand himself over to Rio.
So she gives him what he needs, what he wants from the road. She guides him—cradles his head and helps him fight the guilt, she helps him save Tommy. The second abomination that Lady Death was trying to prevent has already been re-born, but Rio's too busy playing mother-knows-best in suburbia on Agatha's rooftop.
So Agatha gets Billy out, accepts that, “sometimes boys die,” that death herself can't be blamed for Nicky—she forgives Rio—and starts to mourn herself. She's gotten Jen & Billy out. She can stay here and die the villain. But the road presents her with the opportunity to live—from death, life—(she also realises right then that Nicky was also Rio's, btw)—and she makes her dramatic exit. The rest is... A different post.

i hate ✨the power of friendship✨. i HATE it with my whole soul
and it's one thing this bullshit goes into some project specifically for kids or heavy kid-oriented one, but when something acts all serious and adult-oriented and then does a 180 and suddenly all you just need is to ✨forgive✨ and become ✨friends✨
fuck this shit genuinely
s2e7 will forever have a special place in my heart but i felt the physical need to vomit when silco just appeared behind vander hugged him and smiled something about the power of ✨forgiveness✨ wtf
it took me so long to talk about it despite this bullshit being my №1 disappointment with the whole season after arc 3 aired cause i guess i subconsciously tried to convince myself this scene doesn't actually exist cause it hurts my brain to even think about it and i feel sick already after writing about it for so long
i was already traumatized prior by arc 2 and its stupid flashback of silco potentially being a friends with the mom of the girl he tried to kill numerous times. the only thing that left now is
a) to be glad that stupid letter vander allegedly wrote was just for pushing vi and jinx on the path of becoming sisters again without making them actually try to resolve it among each other
b) the winning of the sparkly power of friendship was in fairytale au universe that existed just for giving timebomb-shippers what we want without trying to work with "our" timebomb situation too much
but in all seriousness, whatever s2 did, however bad the writing was (in my opinion), nothing even remotely as devastating as the stupid power of friendship message. and if this whole thing was actually what they've planned for the story from the start then i'm really sorry for myself that after watching s1 i've decided i found an actual mature project for adult audience
and it's kinda sad, cause all my frustration with this season comes exactly from that place - from me being confident i watch a mature show with mature delivery and themes. if it were any other show, if i expected inconsistencies, stupid plot twists and poorly developed characters then i might even like the season and wouldn't feel the need to hear from other people and discuss what problems exist in it
but… yeah, you just need to forgive, bro, and then literally
#arcane critical#and of course nothing personal if you're adult and you love the power of friendship and enjoyed this theme in arcane as well#to each their own#it's just feels like this show didn't present itself as that kind of show you know#i feel ambushed in the worst way possible#and betrayed#fuck#season 1 my beloved i'll continue to view you as mature project no matter how you was going to turn in the end

"Small" Sonic Headcannons Part 2?(More Sonadow and what, Knuxouge too?)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Shadow: (talking/ranting with Sonic) "Well, with how long I was on the ARK and capsulated away for 50-some years, it feels like my body is still... adjusting."
Sonic: "Heheh, "adjusting" huh?"
Shadow has bad allergies, not often. But every once in a while he'll have a sneezing fit for a minute or two. And without fail, the start of the sneezing fit spooks Sonic/like a cat, he flinches at the first sound every time, without fail.
His allergies are bad during Autumn, not really during Spring or Summer. This is because on the ARK there was a small plant room/used for fresh air/gardening fresh plants and produce/this garden is his stash of coffee beans and his appreciation of lavender/but it was importantly for Maria and the rest of the people on the ARK who missed Earth. That plant room is either over-grown/full of coffee bean plants or lavender variants or it broke a part from the ARK and has been decaying/frozen in space/maybe separated as closed off from what's left habitable in the space station.
(I like to think that the plant room was forgotten about, only to be rediscovered as an over-grown plant room taking up a majority of sections, later found by Shadow and Sonic on their mission together, symbolizing Shadow's growth as a character, with the garden reflecting his life development)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Eh, anyways. Knuckles is very aware of his knuckles, other times, he is not. But during times of protecting or taking care of others, that's where he's very cautious. Mainly he's more gentle when he's taking care of someone/either picking someone up/cleaning the wounds off/bandaging up someone's injury/he's as soft and careful as he can be. He learned this from his family. He holds a bunch of medical knowledge and recently, he also learned more skills and tricks on how to take care of someone through Amy and Tails.
Amy always finds new ways to help, so she does her best to make sure her friends (and herself) are able to keep fighting, while also healing properly. She does this out of the kindness of her own heart, but she also deals with feeling like she needs to be her best/useful/tough 24/7. This really burns her out, and she may keep her pain a secret from time to time, but Amy always strives to give love and kindness through her actions, talents and words.
For Tails, he's the one who was stuck helping Sonic with his injuries. So, he knows a few DIY procedures, probably too many DIY emergency, it's concerning really. Tails unfortunately has seen too many injuries, so he's sort of "used to it"/no, numb to it. So he also carries big baggage here and there. But he copes through jokes/humor/maybe dark humor, I mean, Sonic is a part of that influence whether subconsciously or not. And Tails is not soulless, he cares massively about his found family, and can be a worry-bird, and that worry is fuel for his tinkering and creations.
Overall, Knuckles, Amy, and Tails share skills and tricks between each other, and it all helps them grow, learn, and it also helps them heal/heal the baggage and internal self standards/trauma left inside that they have yet to discover for themselves.
*COUGH* back to Knuckles, and to summarize what I'm trying to say, is that Knuckles will be gentle handling others with care. So, with Rouge/if not them bantering over the Master Emerald, he still handles her with great care, he's very tender and soft when it comes to hanging out with Rouge or his friends. Maybe a knucklehead, but a knucklehead with a big heart.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Knuckles likes to be the small spoon while cuddling, he's not really a spoon, he just likes the comfort of being protected. Don't chu ever think after being a protector, that all he wants is to feel protected himself? And Rouge is the one that likes to hold him close/her wings are comforting, hugging, and snug. And as they share moments together, as time flies, as memories are made, so are lessons, so for Knuckles, he learns how to be more "greedy".
Rouge: "It’s called self-care hon, and making sure he's able to treat himself to something nice. He still cares about his responsibilities. But he learns to relax a little..."
While Rouge learns to let go.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Rouge has a soft spot, but she keeps that somewhat hidden. She usually has her guard up (hence why she's the big spoon btw) as she always feels on edge or too stressed. She holds a lot of responsibility of her own, to her own. The stress of secret information, keeping secrets, going on top secret missions, and discovering grueling/fearful/challenging information all has its toll on her. Even if she just brushes it off, seen as calm, collected, and as a badass — still, Rouge has her hollow-hearted nights, her breakdowns, and her nightmares. It's rare but it's not like it doesn’t happen. But with the job, she keeps that minimal, the whole spiel about being able to separate her personal life with her job, she aces that, she tries for it to not get to her, and she does a thorough job for the work she does.
Rouge loves having her face held by Knuckles hands.
And Rouge very much cherishes her friends gifts, any gift really. She couldn't bare it if her gift ever got destroyed, but no one should ever hurt the gifts she cares about the most and that's people in her life.
Also Rouge has a vast spread of knowledge, especially when it comes to her treasures, to the history, the make, the material, it's use, its value, she knows basically everything if you ask her. Her knowledge also branches off into geology too, as she's used to sky, land, underground, and water missions. Maybe she does too much, who knows.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
(Ahh that's the end of this tangent so far and there's probably more headcannons eventually, but Thank Youuuuuu, peaceeeeeee)

Hello and happy Friday! ^^ How about ""I don't want explanations. I want…" 💋" for Neve and Bellara?
did i get carried away? yes! i had so much fun writing from bellara's pov. veilguard spoilers, read at your own discretion! @dadrunkwriting
no takesies-backsies
rating: t
words: 1282
notes: bellara follows in varric's friend fiction footsteps and writes her self insert falling in love with neve's character. wingman lucanis
Maybe Bellara went just a bit toooo far. Sometimes that happened. More than sometimes. This whole writing thing had been Neve's suggestion. Well, Neve and Rook's. It was a nice break from interrogating the Nadas Dirthalen made by Anaris the Forgotten One and trying not to think about the fact her brother was serving said Forgotten One. Also that her gods thought it would be fun to try and Blight the world.
There was a lot going on, and sometimes Bellara would rather distract herself. The serials Neve brought her were great, but she always finished them before the next chapter was ready. Then she'd read the week's assigned reading for the book club and get bored, so she'd try one of those large academic tomes Emmrich brought. Which inevitably brought her back to the Nadas Dirthalen and all those thoughts she was trying to avoid.
So she started writing about the Veilguard! It was really fun at first, but she quickly ran into a problem. She caught up to the present day. Which was good, because it meant that she could write about things as they happened. But bad. Really bad, since it meant she was stuck with the original problem. Nothing to do.
One day when Bellara was complaining to Lace, the dwarf shared what she knew about Varric's books. About how Hard in Hightown was based on some of his friends in Kirkwall. Donnen was Donnic, Belladona was Isabela, and Maysie was Merrill. Friend fiction, he'd called it.
It was then that Bellara had the perfect idea. Neve was always saying that the press was giving her a bad rep in Minrathous. So why not write a story about how awesome she was? The Neve Gallus!
Well, clearly the main character couldn't be Neve Gallus exactly. Varric didn't drop his friends straight into the works. No, he gave them new names. So how about Guinevere? It had "neve" in the name, but it wasn't immediately obvious. She could be called 'Gee' for short! Agent Gee? No, that wasn't right.
Neve was a suave detective, so Gee needed to be too. But what was she sleuthing? Maybe... for stolen elven artifacts? No, that wouldn't sell in Tevinter. Which was where Neve needed to fix her image. No, she could be the Bloodhound of Minrathous, stopping blood rituals just in time and tracking down anything lost.
And every hero needed a sidekick. Lucanis seemed like a good option, but he didn't live in Minrathous. He was the Demon of Vyrantium. But maybe she could work with that. Maybe they were instead rival detectives, who shared a sidekick unknowingly. The Shadow of Vyrantium competing with the Bloodhound of Minrathous. Yes!
But who was the sidekick. Maybe they were telling the story. Maybe it was... her? Hmmm, that could work. Lucine, the elven sidekick who could sneak across the city unnoticed. She ran a repair shop in Dock Town and sold second hand and vintage wares.
As Bellara continued to shape the story and write the first chapters, it became quite clear that Lucine was in love with Guinevere. Which was strange. Because Bellara wasn't in love with Neve, right? She knew she liked women, after all she dated Irelin for a while. But Neve?
She continued to write. Gee was developing a crush on the Shadow, who she would later reveal to be Lucine's younger sibling Dellen. They both continued to solve crime in Minrathous and Vyrantium until Lucine got targeted by a scheme. The Shadow and the Bloodhound work together to retrieve Lucine, where they admit begrudging respect for each other. And Lucine confessed her love for Guinevere. And they lived happily ever after.
That felt like a good place to end the book. Rook helped her find a publisher, and it was out in Minrathous. She thought that was the end of that. She'd put her first book out in the world!
But with Neve Gallus, things weren't so. Publishing might have been the step too far. After an excursion to Arlathan with Rook and Lucanis (who politely informed Bellara that her book was very popular among the residents of Treviso), Neve was waiting in Bellara's room, reading through a copy of her book.
To be honest, she'd been shoving down her feelings for Neve in case they weren't returned. Until the crush went away, the book was a good enough outlet. "Guinevere took Lucine's hand and kissed her knuckles, looking reverently at her sidekick," quoted Neve, placing a ribbon in the passage she was on. "I was wondering why so many people were asking me if my full name was Guinevere recently."
Bellara blushed and stammered, "I'm sorry if I put your real name out there, but I wanted the character to be like you but also not you?"
Neve smiled -- a real smile, not the ones she wore when she was patiently putting up with Bellara's rambles. "No. I just think it's sweet what you think of me," she replied, setting the book down on the table. "I hope I have enough stories to fuel your next book."
If it was possible, she flushed an even brighter red. Neve drew closer, and Bellara became immediately aware of the curve of her body, the click of her shoes. The deep cut of her shirt. She gulped. "I think so? I don't know if I'll write another. I mean, you're awesome and deserve to have another written about you, but um. Only if you want me to. I really should have asked," she said, letting her mouth speak whatever words crossed her mind. Mythal'enaste, she hadn't been this flustered since she first met Irelin!
"I'm honoured that you want to write about me. But I think the one thing that's stumped me is who Lucine is. The Shadow, Dellen. That's like Lucanis. There's Guinevere, me. You even had Inge, that was a slick way to get Ingellvar in there. But Lucine?" Neve dissected the book and placed a hand on Bellara's shoulder.
She knew? She had to know, right? There was no way she didn't. She was a detective and had clearly picked up that she'd used last names to inspire first names. Guinevere - Gallus, Dellamorte - Dellen, Inge - Ingellvar. Leaving Lucine - Lutare. Neve had to know. And if she didn't she'd certainly have it confirmed by her facial expressions.
Before she could stammer out an apology or explain it away as just part of the book, Neve started, "Look, I don't need explanations. I need…"
Well, if the nug was out of the bag... Bellara cut her off by standing on her tiptoes to kiss Neve. It wasn't intense really, just a quick peck. Before she embarrassed herself. She already felt like she did, but... Whatever. Also, if she kissed Neve longer she'd want more. And Neve might not want that. "I'm sorry!" Bellara squeaked.
The second part of her apology was cut off by two warm hands grabbing her cheeks and a long kiss on her lips. It began to heat up, as Neve licked and nipped Bellara's lips. A small gasp left her mouth, allowing Neve to slip her tongue into Bellara's mouth.
Someone coughed at the doorway. "I'll just bring your tea later?" Lucanis asked, slowly backing out of Bellara's room. Bellara darted over, grabbing her tea from Lucanis with a smile. She missed the pointed look Lucanis shot Neve over Bellara's thank you hug.
Neve mouthed a thank you to Lucanis, and picked up the book. "I'll be back later, Bell. I'm certain we can come up with more ideas for the next book," she teased.
Elgar'nan, Neve was going to be the death of her.

just a heads up this will contain spoilers for s2, e11!! (WATCH THE WHOLE SERIES, I PROMISE ITS BETTER THAN HAZBIN HOTEL. AND ITS FREE.)
this was SO GOOD. i cried like, thrice though. IM HAPPY FOR BLITZØ!!! AND.. AND ONE OF MY FAV SHIPS IS BACK ON THE TRACK... BUT STOLAS :( i mean I'm happy for character development and all but why they gotta throw trash at him 😭 (its like my middle school days)
but what I'm wondering the most about is Octavia.. does she think that her dad is dead?? i mean she ran away from the broadcast and i don't think Stella is about to tell her... (i hate stella with a burning passion) I WANT HER TO KNOW HES ALIVE
AND MAYBE STOLAS WILL THINK SHE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE HER AGAIN.. NO!!!! obv they're gonna meet again in some episode, but I WANT IT NOW!!! I NEED TO KNOW!!! I CAN'T WAIT.. ☹️
ok back to the episode - when i saw Fizz jump to his phone immediately when he saw the broadcast .. HE CARES SO MUCH FOR BLITZØ I CANNOT WITH THEM 💕💕💕 (i see them as siblings not a ship) I LIVE LAUGH LOVE FIZZAROLLI
