I was just ambushed within the turbulent halls of my own mind by some headcanons about rye ingellvar's childhood that did 15000000 points of psychic damage to me and my heart personally and also made me almost sure of how I want to play it all at the end (very very differently from how I imagined going in!). some 'oh holy fuck this changes everything' rocking my own world bullshit going on in my neurons right now I'm reeling

#I'm sorry to say that despite what I expected I think the dread wolf might be going down violently on my first run???#not because *I* love solas any less but because of who rye is and some of the twists I know happen down the line #which does make for a neat thing b/c I meant to play the crow I'm going with second as initially incredibly hostile #and then growing to feel for him and redeeming him at the end.#so if rye starts out very reasonable and sympathetic and then is brought to 'haha. no. fuck you forever for that in particular' at the end #...a pleasing cosmic symmetry in it I must admit. perfect and also makes me feel a bit sick #I'll try to put together something coherent eventually but for now #it's sort of a 'my name is ellaryen ingellvar you killed the guy #that my brain went 'close enough welcome back beloved and much missed deceased father figure' over. prepare to despair and die'#I think just the killing part might not have done it but everything that comes after? rye is a chill guy until he finally decides #that enough is fucking *enough*. and that was the most enough of all time for them #it also explains rye's accent (one of his primary caregivers growing up was a dwarf)! so many birds with one stone here #also I am so fucking sad now and I did it entirely to myself. I both really love and really hate DA: Veilguards new combat system.

Though I certainly ENJOY the quick real-time comboing, dodging, briefly commanding companions (haha orb and dagger go brrr) it certainly is different from how I played the last game and its slower paced combats.

The saddest part is I don't have THREE companions talking at all times. I miss the group interactions- and the shenanigans.

#i also miss barrier spamming (whenever i die to a boss)#cuz in DA:I i rotated barrier cooldowns between solas and lavellan #and god i miss my tanks actually TANKING for more than 3 seconds #companions teleporting to where they need to be to execute commands IS nice #like sending davrin to taunt the guy right in my face when he WAS across the field #but its also slightly lazy tactically that i dont have to account for him walking over #like i know thats objectively HARDER and i've fucked myself over doing that in other games but its also satisfying done right yaknow?#again NOT saying the combat is bad. its very good!!!#anyways im gonna go rub that bald egg head. gonna have to ignore this final Regret till im higher level than -checks- 35 #and that Dragon by god... seeing that red number... not Good...#dragon age veilguard #da:v #da: veilguard

if I have been a little quiet this past week that is bc life is swinging a giant cartoon mallet at my head and cackling like the joker experiencing the adrenaline rush of batman driving the batmobile towards him at 120mph. thank you

#my parents went away on holiday and left me in charge of my siblings and the house #which is fine and has happened before and my siblings are basically adults anyway #but my cat got sick again and had to go to the vet to the tune of hundreds of £#turns out he has a skin condition caused by flea bites which idk how he keeps getting them he is an INDOOR cat #the amount of flea pills i have given him in the past 6 months cannot be good for his health #so ive been spraying the whole house down with flea killer and washing all the bedsheets and laundry on the hottest settings #and then this evening he trotted downstairs with two bald paws where he has LICKED THE FUR OFF and it is raw and bleeding in spots #idk wtf to do at this point #he had another seizure too so his meds need adjusting again #so im going to spend more £££ at the vet #to top it all off i have non refundable coach tickets to visit my dad tomorrow so i kind of have to go #fucking. 8 hour journey. kill me #so my sister is going to have to take my boy to the vet instead and im anxious abt that #my special little boy shouldnt have to go to the scary place without me :(#but anyway losing my mind at the emd of my tether have barely picked up my phone the past few days #like what am i doing wrong does my cat just want to die or does he hate me #one thing after a fucking nother #and i have to go into fucking CENTRAL london tomorrow id rather eat fibreglass insulation xx #at least i get to read while im on the district line my beloved <3 #dogbunni diary log

my horrible job requires us to clock out with a supervisor, and usually you just call them and go "I'm leaving bye".

well! Evil Supervisor was closing today, and apparently he was having one of his Man Baby Moods. because I called him. and called him. I must have called him around seven times. and he didn't pick up! not once! even though I could see on the security footage that he was handling his phone! like it was in! his! hand!

then one of the butchers came by and saw me trying to call him and she went "don't waste your time he's not picking up".

mind you, this was ✨15 minutes✨ after my shift had already ended. I was no longer getting paid for my time.

so I hung up the phone and said "okay. I'm leaving then"

and they gave me a look and said "ummm if you think that's a good idea" because they know just how pissy that asshole gets when you leave without telling him you're doing so

really cannot say I'm giving a shit tho ❤️ I'm not gonna go LOOKING for that motherfucker when I've called him nearly ten times and he was just deliberately not answering my calls. I've got better shit to do. bye!

i will say even with how little of dai i’ve replayed so far i do think i’ve solved my problem of quinn not giving a shit about solas. they’re tight now. it turns out i was too busy never having him in my party on the first play through because i was too horny for vivienne to make room for him so i never gave quinn a chance to care about solas
