Do you ever think about how precisely Jing Yuan excises his grief to not to succumb to mara because whenever I do I feel like puking my guts out.

This video was in my bili recs this morning and I had to stop myself from tearing up on the train 5s into it. You have to give it to mihoyo that the microexpressions are done amazingly well in the moments it matters. The way he gives himself a moment to take in the two of them after they fought side by side (even if it was to beat up his disciple lol). He regards them with such warmth and affection before Blade cruelly cuts off his attempt at establishing a connection and ughhhh you just see how he compartmentalizes and slips back into his role as the General.

His subsequent conversation with Dan Heng is also so emotionally fraught, I don't even know how he doesn’t just implode.

His "So what?" really gets to me. I thought he'd sound quite like he's repressing his anger but I rewatched the scene and he says it with barely any heat😫 He is well aware that this isn't his old friend anymore, Dan Heng couldn't have been making it clearer. If anything, he sounds resignated and self-mocking.

Also this scene is so evillll because the first time you (I) played this scene, you're totally seeing it from Dan Heng's POV. He's justified in being annoyed with how everyone sees him as someone he isn't, and Jing Yuan seems especially stubborn about not letting it go. I for one just kept thinking "Dude Jing Yuan, leave the poor lad alone."

The thing though is that Dan Heng actually is wrong here — he is very much still Dan Feng by the definition of Vidyadhara reincarnation. The game keeps saying that it wasn't properly carried out and that it failed, but it doesn't tell you in what exact way in the main story. You have to dig a bit for info.

‘...If my guess is correct, the Preceptors were unwilling to allow the Ichor Line to end and hoped for Imbibitor Lunae’s resurrection. That is why they tampered with the molting rebirth… and turned you into what you are now…’

It is commonly thought that the source of Vidyadharas' immortality is different from that of Xianzhou natives and Foxians. The Vidyadhara race did not gain immortality from the Plagues Author. Instead, as the descendants of Long the dragon, the majesty of the Permanence flows in their blood.

Due to this unique characteristic, Vidyadharas also exhibit a life cycle different from other long-life species. Their life, consisting of reverting from maturity to an infantile stage in an unending cycle, relies upon continuous cellular transdifferentiation. This is the reason why Vidyadharas do not face the ailments of immortality that many other long-life species have to contend with.

While what exactly happens during the incubation process after the Vidyadhara turn into eggs before their rebirth is a mystery, the chief condition of a rebirth being considered one is the *complete* loss of your memories. After rebirth, the Vidyadhara can be of a different gender and usually display no similar inclinations as their previous incarnations. What we also know is the way they turn into eggs is via de-ageing.

So you have to understand Dan Feng's reincarnation was incomplete in the way that he literally just de-aged a bit. Philosophical debate aside about what makes you you and if you're still yourself when you've lost memories that made you you—Dan Heng biologically is de-aged Dan Feng. How Dan Heng thinks of himself is course his prerogative and it's totally fair that he sees himself as a whole new person and believes that Dan Feng has nothing to do with him. But he still has his powers. He still has some of his memories; probably more than he lets on actually if you read some of playable!Dan Heng's character stories in-game. So it’s not hard to understand why other people would still see him as Dan Feng even if he doesn’t think he is.

Anyways, point is that Jing Yuan actually doesn't cling that much to the past as first impression makes it seem, either. I was gonna say that he calls him Dan Feng in...two? instances which come across as very annoying to the player, but I’m Ctrl+F ing this chapter and he never does directly address Dan Heng as Dan Feng to his face. Actually, Jing Yuan comes to terms with it shockingly swiftly. "Old friend." "I'm not him." "Mhm… sorry" <- HE HAS ACCEPTED IT THEN AND THERE. Those are their first words exchanged after reuniting, what the heck... It was both a half-hearted and a last ditch attempt to find his old friend in Dan Heng, and it’s not as if he never had any high hopes but they immediately get shattered, nonetheless.

Jing Yuan doesn't see and need Dan Feng in Dan Heng, the one that does is the Luofu General—he says as much. And after Dan FHeng fulfills what was his duty all along (sealing the fancy tree with his dragon powers or whatever, I don't quite remember) and something he sorely owed to Jing Yuan and the Luofu, Jing Yuan lets him go. *points at "Haha, let us talk of happier topics. The friends you made on the Express are about to arrive here. Don’t you wish to see them?"* Like do you see this!!!!!! He immediately engages with Dan Heng as Dan Heng of the Astral Express, and asks him about his new friends QAQ

He really has perfected the art of letting go. So yeah. On Jing Yuan and the excising of grief 👍

Ok not sure if this was asked before but what is your take on fate in One Piece? And what do you think is Laws view of fate?

(Like Is he the guy who believes fate exists? Or is he the kinda guy who believes people make their own choices and chart their own paths? OR *insert third secret option* LOL)

The fun aspect of fiction is that "fate" objectively exists. The characters' usefulness/popularity can influence the author. But overall, everything moves towards a scripted conclusion.

Qualities and achievements aside, there's no doubt that Luffy is an incredibly lucky fellow. Rather than reading all of it as coincidences, the in-series acknowledgement that he's being "kept alive" makes the plot armor a lot less distracting.

Luffy is the most capable person to liberate the world of One Piece. In return, the world is actively helping him achieve his dream. In a world where a person's "will" can be trained and manifested, it's not a stretch to assume that their fate can also play a role in their success.

Curious how Woop Slap didn't imply an abstract idea of 'fate' (unmei) but a 'destiny' (sadame) that's set in stone. It almost reads as him breaking the fourth wall.

As for Law, I don't think there's much to debate on whether he believes in fate or not. He's not wondering if his fate exists at all, he's trying to know why it's so turbulent.

The term 数奇な運命 in japanese is more commonly used than the English term "checkered fate". It implies a life of high highs and low lows. It's not exclusively used for the D's either, Doflamingo said his life is more checkered than anyone else.

Law is probably the youngest pirate who has acknowledged Luffy's potential the same way Roger's generation did. Albeit jokingly, he has mentioned "good karma" backing a person's good deeds. Maybe the reason why Oda added religious influence in Law's early life is to establish his inclination to believe. As an adult, I think he has inherited Rosinante's following belief:

Even though Rosinante didn't say it out loud.

Whether Law believes in God as an adult hasn't been clarified. But he believes in the existence of fate and life with meaning, which in his universe seem to be a factual reality.

Doesn't mean his goal is to submit himself to a fate-bound responsibility. At the very least, he wants to confront it head-on rather than being repeatedly stabbed in the back.

Hello Fiona! What is your opinion on In My Life being about Paul?

Hi anon!

I'm like a semi-contrarian about this, but also Not Really.

What we know about In My Life is that John both described it as a really personal song and also didn't really elaborate on what the lyrics meant, electing instead to provide the backstory. It could mean he was being specifically cagey about the song's subject but I also get the feeling he was just a bit pissed the entire time he was doing his song rundown for Playboy 1980 lol – which is understandable IMO; he probably would have preferred to talk more about his newer music than going over songs from 15 years ago again.

Now, given the timeline of when the song was written, I've always seen three possible candidates for who it's about: Paul, Cynthia, and my personal pet theory: Julian.

At this point, I do kind of think Paul is the most likely subject of the song, though I'm not sure that's entirely rational on my part. Partly it's the I Know (I Know) lyrical connection (a song I am pretty much 100% on the Paul train for); partly it would make sense that, if Stu and Pete are also being referenced in the song, it would be natural for John to draw a comparison between them and Paul, his current best friend. A thing I find interesting in this context (and the Julian context) is that the song isn't necessarily speaking to a romantic love interest. It certainly could be (and I do tend to think John came to think of Paul that way at some point if not necessarily by 1965 already) but it also might not. Especially when you consider the "acid mindset", which John was getting acquainted with at the time: romanticizing your friendship with your artistic partner could slot into that perfectly, without any of it necessarily being sexually-tinged (or without one having to admit to oneself that it is sexually-tinged).

As for Cynthia, it's absolutely fascinating to me (in a bad way) that she is not commonly held to be the subject of the song. In My Life is a love song, but scholarship seems to stop listening after the first minute. I don't think this is because the song intrinsically can't be about her, I think this just speaks to how egregiously the JohnandYoko narrative (or even the JohnandPaul narrative, in these circles) dominates discussions. It would certainly make sense for John not to want to admit this song might've been for the wife he mistreated by 1980. This emotional letter John wrote Cyn is from just around the time the song was written, meaning it wouldn't be unthinkable for him to in a sense "renew his vows to her" in form of this song.

Which brings me to the Julian theory, that sort of combines all the points I made above. On the one hand, the song isn't explicitly romantic, and I think the line "When I think of love as something new" makes a lot of sense referring to parenthood. Plus, "But of all these friends and lovers" could also suggest that the you is neither a friend, nor a lover. And the letter I linked above is actually mostly about John feeling regretful about how he's not been around for Julian. "I think it’s been a slow process my feeling like a real father!" he writes, more than 2 years after his son was born, which IMO would make sense of this song coming so "late", if it were for Julian. And again I imagine John would not cop to it in 1980, as he wouldn't for Cyn or Paul.

On the whole, I think I find Paul slightly more likely, but to be honest, that might just be bias on my part, so I don't commit to it fully, and I think the other readings are very interesting at least. In My Life as a song from a parent to a child is wonderful!

Alex (He/Him) - Tech guy who was sold by his parents to the King to work on the systems that stores the magic, helped by River to escape before they reach the castle

Oak (They/Them) - Some sort of fairy (still figuring out what to call the species) but basically a deer centaur, she joins River and Alex because her home is actively dying due to a lack of magic, ends up being the most chaotic

Paris (She/Her) - Princess who the group kidnaps as ransom, but she immediately thanks them and joins them because she knew what her father was doing and wants to stop it

Samuel (He/Him) Guard in the palace who falls for Alex, helps them kidnap Paris in the first place, don't know if I'll give them a happy ending or not yet

This is for @going-to-ikea-for-the-fries and anyone else who wants to read my theoretical framework of Johnny MacTavish's personality lol. I just copied and pasted the paper so sorry if the format is awkward.

Abstract

This paper discusses and analyzes the personality of Sergeant Johnny “Soap” Mactavish from the Call of Duty video game franchise. His personality is looked at through the lenses of Alfred Adler’s theory of Fictional Finalism and Carl Jung’s theory of Extraversion. For Alfred Adler’s theory of Fictional Finalism, themes such as the feeling of inferiority and the desire to be superior in childhood are discussed and applied to the analysis of Johnny MacTavish’s personality and his behavior in the military as an adult. For Carl Jung’s theory of Extraversion, themes relating to what makes an Extravert and how they function in society and with the people and atmosphere around them are also taken into account to analyze the personality of Johnny MacTavish.

Johnny Mactavish is one of the most beloved and iconic characters from the video game Call of Duty. Specifically the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reboot, which was released in 2022. The charming Scotsman has stolen the hearts of many players across the world due to his light hearted banter with his team members on Task Force 141, his passion, and his provision of comic relief. He is more commonly known as “Soap”, his callsign, due to his impeccable speed and accuracy in room clearance, as they refer to it in the military, which is checking if a room is clear of threats (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki).

Johnny is very spirited. His personality is interesting because it contrasts the personality of the other soldiers on the Task Force. The other soldiers, although they are also very loveable characters, tend to be more stoic and tame than Johnny. He is quite literally their sun and they cannot help but get caught within his beams. Although not much about Johnny’s childhood, age, or backstory is mentioned throughout the game other than his origin from Scotland, it is mentioned, however, that he has taken an interest in the military ever since he was a child due to his older cousin bringing him around base to experience a day in the life as a soldier (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki). Ever since then, Johnny has made it his ultimate goal to serve and protect the world from threats, as being so in awe of the world his older cousin exposed him to. Johnny has so much life in him which contrasts the darkness of his job as a Sergeant where he witnesses atrocities daily. He makes friends with nearly everyone he is put on missions with and is extremely witty. Many could say that he has the personality a teenage boy might due to his impulsivity and harmless mischief to the point where his behavior and remarks may be viewed as immature or inappropriate for the time being. He is always searching for a thrill and possesses a confidence that does not go unnoticed. However, Johnny knows when to be serious. He is a trained sniper and demolitions expert and the youngest person to ever pass the SAS (Special Air Forces Selection), despite constantly lying about his age at 16 and getting caught every time. He is extremely intelligent and knows when to demonstrate and use it when it is needed, putting his playful nature aside, thus showing responsibility. He is a natural born leader. Because of Johnny’s competence and proficiency, he eventually gained the position and title as Captain MacTavish (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki).

One reason why I believe Johnny MacTavish is so cheery and outgoing, is because he has to be. Meaning, he deals with so much pain, death, and evil in his everyday life that he refuses to let it get to him. He remembers the oath he made to himself as a child when he first stepped foot onto a military base to become an even better soldier than his older cousin and to create better lives for people, and he intends to keep it. And to him, being the light in the darkness to his teammates and every soul he meets, other than the Task Force’s enemies of course, is a contribution to making the world a better place. As aforementioned, very little is known about Johnny’s childhood and home life aside from his older cousin, so I assume that his personality has developed from his interactions with his team, as he joined the military very young when he was still a teenager (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki). So, Johnny maturing within a strict military setting, he didn’t get to experience the typical teenage life, so holding onto his boyish charm is a way to make up for a childhood that he may have missed out on. He became extremely close with the Task Force and he found a family other than his blood (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki).

To analyze Johnny MacTavish’s personality further, it can be viewed through both Alfred Adler’s theory of Fictional Finalism and Carl Jung’s theory of Extraversion. These two theories apply to the personality of Johnny MacTavish because Alfred Adler’s Fictional Finalism theory discusses one’s desire to meet a future goal, and Carl Jung’s theory of Extraversion suggests how extraversion influences how one interacts with others. Johnny’s goal is to help cleanse the world from evil and be the best soldier he can be, and his extraversion plays a part in his qualifications for leadership and how easy it is for him to connect with other people.

Starting with Adler’s theory of Fictional Finalism, an article from Libretexts discusses how Fictional Finalism is rooted in the belief that one feels inferior during childhood. They strive to be superior to their parents or other authorities in their lives. They fictionalize and imagine what they want their goal in life to be and are motivated to get themselves there (Kelland, 2022). The article goes on to discuss how feelings of superiority and inferiority affect one’s goals and how they go about their life and how it connects to Fictional Finalism. It also discusses other concepts such as Fictive Superiority, where one falsely believes that they are actually superior to everyone, and how it can get confused with Fictional Finalism due to the influence of the desire to be superior (Kelland, 2022). Johnny MacTavish demonstrates Fictional Finalism in his childhood when his older cousin introduced him to the military. Ever since then, Johnny strived to be a better soldier than his older cousin and to make the world a better place. Even in adulthood Johnny demonstrates Fictional Finalism with the same goal. He also gained other goals that seemed out of reach for him such as becoming Captain, which he eventually achieved (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki). Another way Johnny shows the characteristics of Fictional Finalism is when he is talking to his Lieutenant and best friend Simon “Ghost” Riley. Jokingly, Johnny tells Lieutenant Riley, “I want to be like you when I grow up L.T.” to which Lieutenant Riley responds “You want to be better than me Johnny.” Johnny then ends the conversation by saying “I will be” (Brian Bloom et al., 2022).

Another article by PressBooks discusses Adler’s belief that the power of one’s individual self influences their Fictional Finalism. He believed that each person is born with a sense of inferiority as an infant and as they grow older, they develop a goal that is unique to themselves based on their personal life experiences. This became known as Individual Psychology (The American Women's College Psychology Department & McGrath, n/a). The article goes on to explain Adler’s belief that people’s outlook on life and what they deem their self worth to be has all to do with the meaning of their life and their life goals. This goes for Johnny MacTavish as well because his goal of being a good soldier and doing all he can to make the world less malicious is individualized to how dear he holds his job and his military influence from his older cousin at such a young age.

Another personality theory that can be used to analyze Johnny MacTavish’s personality is Carl Jung’s theory of Extraversion. According to an article from the website Carl Jung Depth Psychology, Carl Jung’s personality theory of Extraversion described Extraversion as one’s energy being drawn to the outer world. An Extravert is normally talkative and social. They are the life of the party. An Extravert is driven by outside factors which influences how they perceive life (Purrington et al., 2020). The article also discusses how Carl Jung believed that everyone had Introverted and Extraverted tendencies, with one being more dominant over the other. It also discusses the dangers of Extraversion such as getting to caught up with being out in the world and giving too much of oneself away to where you end up losing yourself (Purrington et al., 2020). Johnny MacTavish can be characterized as an Extravert for the way he socializes with those around him, even if he doesn’t know them. He is loud, welcoming, jolly, and unapologetically himself. His assertiveness and shamelessness of who he is and how he interacts with his teammates on the Task Force and other soldiers such as making jokes and treating them like life long friends clearly labels him as an Extravert. Johnny is rarely alone and his energy is very drawn to the outside world, as his goal to make the world as peaceful as possible is an external goal in and of itself.

A separate article written by Kendra Cherry discusses Extraversion’s effect on human behavior. The article discusses how Extraverts thrive from social interaction and the difference between Extraversion and Introversion. Introversion is a lack of Extraversion, and is often misinterpreted as shyness (Kendra Cherry, 2023). Introverts tend to enjoy time alone more than being in social gatherings and keep to themselves more than Extraverts do by choice, as they do not need social interaction to enjoy themselves (Kendra Cherry, 2023). The article also lists Extraversion traits such as enjoying attention, talkativeness, friendliness, engaging in the atmosphere around them, etc. These traits all describe Johnny MacTavish. As previously mentioned, Johnny is the life of the party and the comedic relief when things get rough on the battlefield, and the other soldiers admire his positivity, wit, encouragement, and energy even during the toughest of times. Extraversion also tends to be associated with leadership (Kendra Cherry, 2023). Johnny’s ability to communicate with others well, confidence, inspiration, and heightened spirit allows him to be a strong leader as well as his precision with leading and planning missions. The Captain of Task Force 141, Captain John Price, noticed this in Johnny and took a special liking to him (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki). Lacking certain Extraverted traits may cause one to be a weaker leader than another, but that is not to say Introverts cannot be leaders themselves, as Introverts also have skills that allow them to be organized and intelligent (Kendra Cherry, 2023).

One more interesting way of viewing Extraversion is through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. This is another way of analyzing personality. Johnny MacTavish can be classified as an ESFP type personality, also known as the “Entertainer” or the “Performer” (Kendra Cherry, 2022) . The ESFP personality type is one that is very closely related to Extraversion, as they have pretty much the same traits such as enjoying socialization and going with the flow of things (Kendra Cherry, 2022). An ESFP personality also thrives off of spontaneity, which can also be their weakness, as they may not think about the consequences of their actions and how they can negatively affect the outcome (Kendra Cherry, 2022). This describes Johnny MacTavish to a tee as his impulsive actions can sometimes get him and others into trouble since he sometimes doesn’t think before acting. An example of this can be seen in one scene from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 when the Task Force captured their enemy Vladimir Makarov and they were transporting him in a helicopter. However, Makarov wanted to get caught to distract the team so he could blow up an airport without the Task Force catching him before, which would interrupt his plan. Johnny was furious and started beating Makarov and held him at gunpoint, threatening to kill him. The Task Force Captain, Captain John Price, had to hold Johnny back and convince him to put the gun down, because if he killed Makarov, they would be committing a war crime. Johnny eventually listened to Price and released Makarov. Unfortunately, at the end of the game’s campaign, Makarov killed Johnny MacTavish with a shot to the temple (Halon et al., 2023).

With everything said, Johnny MacTavish is a passionate, bubbly, and lively character who thrives so much from his interactions with the world around him thus inspiring him to fight to make it as safe and wonderful as he can so it can be seen by others the way he sees it. He is spontaneous and quite literally the Task Force’s ray of sunshine in their darkness due to the contrast of his personality compared to his teammates. Both Adler’s theory of Fictional Finalism and Carl Jung’s theory of Extraversion apply to Johnny’s personality because of his determination to be the good in the world and his extremely friendly social nature. He possesses traits that allow him to always find the good in things and to be a natural born leader even in the roughest and darkest of times, which his teammates admire (Contributors to Call of Duty Wiki). The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator of the ESFP personality type can also be applied to Johnny’s personality since he is very impulsive and thrives off of social interaction. Traits of the ESFP personality type can also be very closely related, and even included in the definition of Extraversion, and vice versa (Kendra Cherry, 2022). Because of all the personality traits he shows, his charm, and his unique way of acting despite the counter personalities of his teammates, Johnny MacTavish is a video game character that will be remembered as an icon for generations to come, despite no longer being alive in the Call of Duty world.

Lil about me - I’m genderfluid and pansexual (but I tend to date guys more lol) I’m an extremely creative/ crafty person, I make cosplays/ costumes and love to paint. My favorite thing to do in my free time is to put on a good show (normally adventure time) and work on a new project. Trigun Bookclub: Trigun Vol.1, Chapter #06

I’m doing a deep-read of the Japanese original print (reread) and Overhaul 1.0 (first read) side-by-side, and writing down everything I notice from small details, version differences, translation differences, etc.

I really love the "train conductor/bus driver/etc puts themself in danger to protect the passengers" trope- NOOOOOOOOOO COOL CONDUCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Small correction: These first onomatopoea are actually...flesh sounds...... And I wasn't really thinking about corrections for this one, more just for nuance, but Neon says something like "it's unfortunate, but..." in this line.

A small difference here: in my version it's actually CO2, not oxygen that's being supplied to the Heat Plant. However, considering that O2 is a fuel for combustion and CO2 is a byproduct, it may be an error on Nightow's part.

This is one of the first indications of who Kaito actually is. He knows all of this off the top of his head, which catches the Captain by surprise.

It also provides information about Plants. This could either mean that all Plants require some kind of fuel, or that the Plants can utilize those resources in some other way to help the Sandsteamer.

Get graphited idiot.

We also get to see more of Kaito's attachment to this Sandsteamer.

Here, the original line is more like "Why would Brilliant Dynamites Neon have to listen to you when this treasure—the prey I've been hunting—is right in front of me!?"

This is where I notice that Neon has a sort of obsession with "beauty," not just in the regular sense but also in his own way. He obviously values visuals—his over-the-top fashion and desire to go out with a bang—but to him, it's also a question of dignity. (this will be on the exam yall)

Even the gang member is getting worried about what Neon might do to Kaito... And here's where we find out why Kaito knows so much and wants to protect the Sandsteamer!

Notes on the original phrasing of this line, since I saw a few posts comparing the Dark Horse and Overhaul versions.

The Japanese line is「パッと散りな　小僧」パッ(pa') is an onomatopoea for "pop," "poof," or a release (e.g. letting go of an object). 散る(chiru, used here in command form) means "scatter," most commonly associated with falling cherry blossom petals. From that, it's also a euphemism for dying. i can go on for another paragraph on the association of cherry blossoms with Japanese views on life/death but you can figure that out. or google it idk

I think this line is another excellent representation of Neon's values on beauty and death.

I love this page so much!! The flow comes to a complete stop, and the tension that has been building throughout the last few pages is at its peak here. The composition is also excellent. The art is symmetrical, and Neon's giant outfit follows the lines leading from the bottom corners of the page up to Vash's gun, where they intersect right in the middle. I JUST LOVE THESE KINDS OF COMPOSITIONS SO MUCH.....

It took a while to figure out what happened here, but I think Vash either sensed danger or actually dodged a bullet, and chose to jump back out. Love the way he's firmly holding Kaito's overalls while Kaito doesn't understand anything that's going on lol

The silly goofies... theyre screaming crying shitting themselves out there....

It's a bit hard to see, but Kaito is screaming "AAAHHH PULL ME UPPP" in the middle panel.

This exchange after the two get to safety is also so silly... There's a missing "whrrrr drill drill" SFX for Vash's drill hand (?). I saw a photo of the Dark Horse version which was missing it in the same way, with the leftover ン on Vash's cheek.

I forgot to highlight it, but this note pertains to Vash's second speech bubble about death and destruction. The Japanese version of the line is something like "I swear!! I have at least 2 digits' worth of death-gods(死神) or poverty-gods(貧乏神) haunting me!!" Death-gods/shinigami are already well-known in the West so I won't explain that here. The second one, poverty-god/binbōgami, is a similar kind of thing, except it brings poverty to whoever it clings onto (instead of death). Fun fact: Binbōgami are said to like yakimiso (grilled miso paste).

VASH'S SOUPY BRAIN!!! The mystery has been solved!!!

But first, in order... Vash's first line is more like "We can't be worrying about all this right now." It could keep the original phrasing, but the main idea is to change "me" to "us."

The next (most important) line is actually "We gotta save brainpower [for the matter at hand]." The confusion lies in the word 脳みそ, which literally translates to "brain miso," but is actually the word for brain tissue, and thus brainpower. It has nothing to do with miso soup! The origin I wrote in the middle-left of the image is...dubious.... I told my mom about this just now, and she mentioned that it might be called that because みそ(miso) also means the center or key aspect of something. Weblio also says it signifies innards (like from crab or shrimp), similar to what I wrote in the annotation at first. I'll fix it in the document later

Also, I would phrase the last line as "I mean, we're gonna stop this ship, right!?"

Kaito's skills are actually insane. What do you mean you just copied the entire blueprint... Mistranslation: The respect is directed towards his dad, so it should be "You must really look up to your dad."

I didn't know his name was spelled Kaite in this version. My Japanese version copy has that bottom part in a regular speech bubble, and with the font for the boxes. It's most likely just a version-exclusive error. He also says that his dad "found" the ship, but I'm not sure if that's another error or not since this translation makes more sense.

This line is phrased more like "Just for a little bit of cash, I'm now taking advantage of you for a deal with a crook."

I really loved the execution of this scene in the '98 anime. get hammered into the ground boy The final line is from Kaito, not Vash, and should be "...Yeah!!"

And that’s it for Chapter #06! Sorry for the wait, I couldn't work on this as much as I'd liked because of the smoke and rainstorm, combined with weekend responsibilities. Feeling better now though 💪 As always, the Japanese annotations are in the reblogs.

🟠 Orange- What is a trait your OC hides about themself from others? Do they refuse to acknowledge it or begrudgingly accept it?

Casey - This one was hard because she tends to be transparent. In fact, authenticity is extremely important to her, so she tries not to hide things. However, she doesn't like acknowledging when she's insecure. While she appears very self-confident in her career and relationships, she can struggle with imposter syndrome and feel inadequate. Thanks to years of therapy, this is usually under control, but when her anxiety disorder is triggered, it can rear its ugly head. This was evident after the chemical attack. While she accepts that she can feel this way, she doesn't like it, so she attempts to hide it. The only people who really see it are those closest to her... her parents, Tobias, her closest friends. It's hard for her to learn to talk about this when it occurs because she's somewhat ashamed of it... but she learns.

Tobias - Our boy has some negative traits, for sure. He can be a sarcastic know-it-all, and sometimes the cockiness goes entirely too far, but he's pretty OK with those things. lol Another thing we commonly see in Tobias is a bright "everything will be all right "(even when it's not) attitude. That's something thing that really attracted Casey to him. But, deep down, he can be more pessimistic, sometimes terribly so, but he does a magnificent job of hiding it from others and even himself. Truthfully, it's a trauma response to his father's death. It was a way of avoiding looking at the darkness and being forced to deal with the aftermath. So, while many would see it as a positive trait, that isn't always the case. It's something he eventually comes to recognize about himself, and he finds better ways of dealing with this in the future.

Carolina - Carolina does not let anyone see just how much her father's death still impacts her.... how frequently the panic attacks and nightmares occur. They know it impacts her, but not the extent to which it does. She goes out of her way to hide it, even from her Uncle Tommy and her closest friends. The only one who really comes to see this is Trystan, and that speaks to how comfortable she feels with him. Her main reason for hiding this is not wanting to worry others. However, she still isn't ready to accept this herself.

Trystan - Trystan hid a lot about himself for a long time. As Crown Prince, he was trained to show the world a certain picture of who he was, and within his family, it was made clear that they didn't really care to know the real him. He hid his weaknesses, insecurities, fears, and desires. He hid being bisexual. He was trying to live his public image, not who he was, for a very, very long time, and moving into being his authentic self has been therapeutic for him.

⚪️ White- When was a moment in your OC's life that they felt the most vulnerable and exposed? Were they alone or surrounded?

Casey - Many times, but the three biggest would be when her mother was ill as a child, after the chemical attack, and when she had a life-threatening experience after the birth of her third child. As a child, she was surrounded by people who loved her: her grandparents, her favorite aunt and uncle, and her cousin, but she felt terribly alone because the two people she relied on and needed most - her parents - were unavailable. Her mother because she was dying, and her father was working several jobs to keep the family afloat and caring for his wife.

After the chemical attack, she was surrounded by support, perhaps too much so because she felt suffocated. Also, the insecurities mentioned above came into play, and she often felt unworthy of the attention being given to her, so it took her a while to work through it.

After Kayla's birth, she had a huge support network, and she was more prepared to accept their help.

Tobias - After his father's death and after Casey's near death following Kayla's birth. With his father, he didn't really have a healthy support system. He and his best friend (Ethan) were falling apart and barely speaking. Because of the struggles Tobias experienced with his father before his death, he and his brother were largely estranged, and his mother was so absorbed in her own grief she wasn't fully present. People were there for him... like his best friend from childhood, Kerry, but Tobias tended to push them away - denying he needed help.

After Casey's near death, he really was unraveled. Sometimes he felt he couldn't survive it, but forced himself to for the sake of his daughter's. He was only able to do this because of the support he received from family and friends.

Carolina - After her father's death, for certain. I don't think she had a lot of people around her, but the few that she did were really there for her. This enabled her to go on - but not without scars.

Trystan - After Juliana's death, for sure. His grief alone would have been debilitating, but being convinced he was responsible led him to feel crippling guilt. After being exiled, he lost everything he knew to be his life, and with the exception of Marguerite, he was on his own. Once in New York, the friends he made were largely there to access his vast wealth and access to the high life.

🎱 8 Ball- What situation was your OC lucky to escape from or get out of? What or who helped them unexpectedly?

Casey - The chemical attack and the most unexpected help came from Tobias.

Tobias - He was lucky he never got an STD! lol I guess he can thank himself for that - he was usually very safe and always tested - but really, he needs to thank the universe for that one.

Carolina and Trystan - I think canon speaks to this. They were very fortunate to escape death at the hands of Eleanor St. Claire and Tony Kowalski, then Vasili.

Damn the imagery on this MV goes super hard i love the non-traditional stuff you'll find scattered around at a glance the ones i spot are: buhddist funeral rites with from, what i can count 39 candles which can mean thank you… those funeral flowers look like white chrysanthemums (grief, honesty, truth which the later two may be nods to the fact that they're not in their right minds), pink, and purple carnations which symbolize capaciousness and unpredictability Kuko also references gokurakujoudo which is the most well known higher buddhist celestial land known as the land of bliss so basically he's saying that he's so hot shit that he'll reincarnate into the holiest of holy lands Ragnarok is the end of the known gods according to nordic mythology aside from like. two gods and two humans which means either Jyushi is a ghost as shown in the scene or he's just that cool and survived Kuko's second verse is a reference to old paintings that depicted monks training their spiritual disciplines by mountainsides. if you're an old soul like me, think Libra Dohko's Mnt. Roshi Hitoya's second rap scene is mimicking an egyptian depiction of a weighing of the heart, specifically it seems to be parodying the scene found in the Papyrus of Hunefer. interestingly, the three opponents are on the side in which the feather of maat is commonly depicted on, the thing which the heart is weighed against while Amanda is the heart Hitoya and Kuko's spots on the papyrus is where anubis would be, setting them as the judges who preside over this battle. Jyushi is also sitting where Ammit, the devour of the dead, would be depicted sitting. Ammit is also a goddess, which is fun Given the red moon behind him, Jyushi also plays at a fallen angel The chorus' first scene is another very famous generic buhdist scene. while i don't think it references anything specifically, the three sitting on lotus flowers and the bodhi tree's in the back implies that they are buddah. like no joke, they are actually buddha don't know if this is actually a reference, but the red hell-like place that the three find themselves in might be Sañjīva, one of the buddhist naraka's where those who are reincarnated there are born fully grown and are attacked by other people and monsters return of the kinshachi! kaleidoscopic imagery which is also heavily associated with buddhist imagery That ending is a reference to the spider's thread by ryunosuke akutaguwa! you might remember it if you've played Danganronpa V3 but its a story about a man trying to escape from hell from a spider thread but ultimately falls back into hell because of his greed - that Obaaachannnn is so cute. and the bait and switch was so silly Kuko as always is just the absolute star of the show even if the spotlight isn't on him Huh???? Are Doppo and Hifumi okay???? Please??? you can't just cliffhang that???? how dareeee

Badass Temple endingg lets gooooo Kuko verson is so cute!!! that illust tooo Jyushi is just so stylish and silly, treading that fine line. also is that just water in his champagne glass www this is such a fun ending version i love it. Its just a lot warmer and more comforting in my opinion, super sweet and heartwarming. a lot more electric guitar as well

I'm so glad for their first feature episode I really enjoyed BAT! The song was such a banger and the imagery along with it so evocative. I really liked the episode how it brought everyone together for a chaotic jaunt. I hope next week with dotsuhompo will be just as silly

I saw this reblogged by @uiolot and got inspired. Since I'm not posting much, I decided I'd answer some questions for main characters, C and Joy. WARNING VERY LONG

✨ — For Joy, I wanted it to express his upbeat demeanor, so I just googled synonyms for happiness, went through some, and it popped up in my head. Though I recently found out it's commonly used as a female name lol. It also became his mother's trait to give her children weird names with special meanings. As for C, I scrolled some male names to find one that sounded like him and shortened to one letter for ✨mystery✨.

🌼 — Joy is 16 and C is 17! Could never tell you what happened the day

🌺 — They have each other! Aside from that, C had his first “relationship” a few years ago with a toxic guy (though can you realistically not be toxic as a ~12-13 boy?), a blond cocky bastard. It kinda grew as a reference to me choosing between several looks for C. At first I wanted him to be blond, with curly hair; his ex got the 1st, Joy's human design got the 2nd. Joy also had a few crushes, even including Haru, but it never went anywhere (and thanks god, I never intended to, this man is way too old for him xd).

🍕 — Joy is probably burger with fries typa guy. Anything flavorful and colorful would be to his taste, but he's not too picky since his mom's cooking was always awful. C definitely likes meat and bread of any kind. They share love for sandwiches, soda, hard candy and pastry, especially buns from Snowdin when C tries them.

💼 — They're both high-schoolers, so nothing yet. C used to work in his father's butchery shop before the Underground, but it was less of "making a living" and more of a "one day you'll inherit my business dear son so I'm training you instead of letting you enjoy weekends properly".

🎹 — Joy travels around the Underground and draws a map of it. He sometimes watches Haru's family anime collection, reads adventure novels, listens to pop music, dances, and plays mortal combat-ish games. He also just... likes to yap. A lot. Anything to tire himself out really. C never had any hobbies because of being busy, so he just sticks around. Adventuring and exploring in general is interesting to him. They'd probably like DnD if they knew about it.

🎯 — Joy yaps and dances like a pro, hehe. C has the MC ability to solve any problem on the way. He's mostly collected, sharp, and is able to get out of most situations if time's given.

🥊 — Joy loves chatting, finding time to meet friends, seeing his elder brother a lot! His hobbies name it all. He only hates household chores, especially doing dishes, anything related to water (he can't swim) and being Haru's target during his training sessions. C likes working with people, reading books, but feels uneasy spending time with monsters except Joy. As to why... We'll see. I can't really come up with anything he'd purely hate... Like, cleaning toilets, not that's what everyone hates. Following other's orders and tasks maybe?

❤️ — Joy's best memories before the main story are related to his elder brother, Piper. They barely meet each other these days, which makes it double special. They're close since childhood, talk about everything that bothers them, watch silly movies... They can even just sleep in the same room and be happy. C's happiest memories are probably about the family farm, when he was little, played with piggies (under guidance, we all know how scary pigs can be) and didn't know where meat comes from. Since meeting Joy, the cutest moments they had were definitely added to both's lists.

✂️ — This topic is secret until the episodes come out, but let's just say they're also related to the couple's relationships. Besides, both struggle with parents a lot. Joy has arguments with mom, C hates dad, perfect match.

🧊 — Joy's is, though at first I pictured him wearing glasses on the forehead for more adventurous look, but it doesn't make sense when you're half-blind lol. His jeans were slightly different in fit. C, aside from early choices I mentioned, had changes in boots (before they were just generic boots) and pants (same... I have troubles with pants) and was gifted a lil garter belt cover for his weapons. I also got inspired by Hunter from TOH and Vaggie from HH — strong protective characters with trauma 😊 — and gave him a hooked nose.

🍀 — Joy was at least 70% self-insert. So I can say he's inspired by my own awkwardness? Also my desire to yap and the idea of comforting teen relationship. A tiny bit of any sunshine character I've seen in media (Charlie in HH, Tails in Sonic franchise, Luz in TOH, etc etc...). C is pretty generic, I admit. Insert him in any 1st person/unnamed protagonist game. Frisk heritage right here. But in looks he's heavily inspired by Manlybadasshero 'cause he's the true protagonist of every story.

🌂 — Joy is Disney channel series or teen dramedy. C is rpgmaker yandere game or PS1 horror with a sprinkle of slice of life when he's on the pacifist route.

💚 — They're both cisgender boys and gay! (Probably would be trans-inclusive, but not familiar with the concept enough to identify as such).

🙌🏻 — C is the only child. Joy has seven!

🍎 — As I mentioned, Joy quarrels with his mother a lot. He doesn't feel needed, and in his eyes, mom suddenly stopped loving him when he was little and only needs him for doing dishes from time to time. His dad is simply absent. Still technically in the family, but always stuck in his workplace, also since Joy's childhood, barely seeing his kids a few times a year. No conflict with him, but not much love either, it's neutral. C's in very bad relationship with father due to the amount of work and it's violent nature. And he's just old in general. «These damn kids» guy. As for his mommy, I'm sure they're fine. I imagine a very patient, warm woman he was sorry to leave like that.

🧠 — I love Joy's cheerful, yet awkward personality. He helps me cope, especially with my situations at home, school stuff and sexuality topics. He doesn't know anything, he's a baby!! 🥺 (he's actually a nice smart guy, as mature as an introverted 16 yo can be). As for C, he's just my ancient Undertale protagonist idea I still cherish. Also a secret for later, but... He's the “I fucked up — I fucked up more trying to improve the last fuck up — I learned and did it better from scratch” trope. He has a lot of skeletons in his closet he still thinks about and grieves over. He may turn VERY flawed at some point. And I love bad people who are truly sorry in the end.

✏️ — Not too often, but I like sketching them and writing the detailed script for episodes when I have time. Also the whole project! It will come out eventually, we all say in unison.

💎 — Definitely not Joy, he's staying. C... Who knows. He's also important, probably not. But I swear I wouldn't about every OC I've ever had before one day deciding they're not fit for my grown brain anymore and getting rid of them. So we'll see.

💀 — Not phobias, but fears in general. Joy is very much afraid of death. It's a taboo topic for most people, and in his family it's not spoken about along with many other things. Seeing someone dying or hearing about it (only including fresh cases) might be straight up traumatizing for him. They're both afraid of being left alone, for C it also means losing Joy as the story progresses.

🍩 — Lora! The new queen of the Underground. She's the main antagonist in the whole AU. There are temporary enemies too, especially for C. You'll learn more on the process.

🎓 — For a year and few months. Such a long journey, hehe.

🍥 — I was 16! It always feels weird to outgrow your characters. I'm almost afraid of losing touch, heheh.

Maybe I'll participate again with other characters I have. That's fun to ponder certain things about you children, especially while they're in development.

Alright, jellyfish:D I think they are the Pacific Sea Nettle(Chrysaora fuscescens) because I think the antlantic ones are more transparent. The bell is yellowish or reddish-brown with a darker margin. The bell diameter can be up to 30 cm (1 ft) with oral arms reaching as long as 1 m (3.3 ft). Oral arms can reach 3.6-4.6 m (12-15 ft). However, ton average, the sea nettles are are usually smaller. But here's a fun fact about the name, the genus name of sea nettle jellies, Chrysaora, comes from Greek mythology. Chrysaor, reportedly a giant, was the son of Poseidon and Medusa. His name translates as ‘golden falchion’. A falchion was a commonly used curved fighting sword that could cut through armor, a reference to the stinging ability of these jellies.

if fans wanted to include peach in stuff they write, would that be okay? and how would they write peach's personality? aside from "FIGHT ME" anyway, i think that much is a given lol. i only really write the anime characters 'cause that's what i know, but it sounds like it'd be kinda fun to try making a version of ash that fits into this blog's universe! nerf'd Obviously, but i think she'd probably appreciate how hands-on he gets when training his pokemon!

Ok, I get a lot of these messages, and I often hear folks wanting to throw peach into their stories and comics and writings, and I will always simply ask that if it’s published online publicly, to be linked to it so I can snoop and enjoy the content too. If someone asks about her in your work, let them know about the blog I guess? But literally I love that people take this stuff, these characters and stories, and make new stuff with it. No ones making money off my work here? So where’s the issue? Go for it buddy, knock yourself out, I’m all for it.

For you, and all the others out there who want to add peach, and other characters to your world building, I will give you a detailed rundown of the main lot, and how they behave, what they do, how they function. You can use that, use bits, or use none of it, I do not mind at all. If you’re creating something, you’re in control, not me.

So, peach doesn’t actually fight people as much as you’d think. She’s very aware most cannot and do not want to do that, and so she likes to keep to herself with regards to that aspect of her life, she doesn’t ask to spar with people, or even bring it up at all, but people ask her all the time, even if they clearly would lose or become hurt should she miscalculate during the fight. She looks at people like they usually create problems, and often has a somewhat reserved nature to other humans. You have to work quite hard to get anything more than formalities out of her. She will dead-pan handle people with blunt and very to-the-point statements, aid whenever possible, but very quickly get back to handling the Pokemon she so carefully tends. Her focus is clear, she’s all about hard work, her very small select family, and the Pokemon.

Her brutal, loud and brash personality only comes out with friends, family, difficult humans, OR any Pokemon. She will joke and laugh and play with Pokemon, but clam up around humans, maintaining tight body language and generally will be a little cold by regular standards. She does however have some weaknesses in this emotionless shield she puts up. When peach was young she was always angry, which swung so fast to sadness, back and forth. Her teenage years it just got worse and worse, it was crippling at points. She is to this day, full of fire and rage, even sadness, but now she has learnt to control it, to use it. When she sees that in others, it’s familiar, and she is pushed to drop the front, and be very real with the person. Underdogs I suppose, people who get bad reps, but deserve the same as everyone else. She can’t ignore it.

Once you start to pry open her personality, you’ll find she’s a lot more laid back and fun than originally appeared, you just have to work hard to find that side of her. She will meme reference, can’t dance to save her life, loves her coffee, and can be caught in quiet contemplation while gardening. This hobby is her calmest, and often is why she can stay so level headed when her quiet rage boils up again. Without time outside she will become grouchy, a little snippy, and lethargic. Will not go in the ocean for any reason other than life or death, is fine with ponds and rivers, or water at wading height. Likes the rain.

With regards to her training others, they usually have to tolerate her somewhat strict nature. She is a little....unforgiving, holds a grudge if you make a lot of mistakes, and has no tolerance for ignorance in the age of information that we all live in. In previous posts I’ve mentioned she’s only recently selected two students, after many years of testing kids who want to learn from her. Hundred tried out, only two have ever been approved. How she teaches is very fast paced, be prepared to get some scrapes and bruises, she will test your physical and emotional tolerances with intense tasks, carefully watching students like a hawk. Bad posture in your stance? She’ll be the first to tell you to sort it out. Not hearing your Pokemon partner? Right, now you spend the day without using words trying to communicate, let’s see how you like not being listened to.

This is a woman who has spent her life saying very little, and watching everything, she watches Pokemon and can see an issue from a mile off, and in battles, her observations are why she can react fast, and chose effective strategy to avoid damage and achieve results. Don’t let her body fool you, her strongest asset is analysing, watching, planning. Those skills have over the years transferred to people too. As a student, mistakes don’t go unnoticed with this professor.

Her methods are harsh but fair, and should you prove yourself, she will protect you with her life.

Because of her disinterest in kids and lots of noise, she does pass the training of students on to the other staff members whenever possible. Grey takes on the lions share of battle lessons, he is far calmer, more open and friendly, with patience for people, and an empathy that peach sometimes struggles to have. When you go through a lot of harsh training, and difficult events, it’s hard to change how you feel or think, with peach, well, she’s been through it. Most do not come out the other end in one piece, but she did, and it made her strong. You may think I mean strong like buff and big, and yeah sure she is, but I mean it mentally more than anything. Peach will not quit. She has learnt to destroy the boundaries that stop people getting hurt, gone is the fear that freezes you in your tracks, that feeling that you’ll pass out if you go one more step. She’s learnt to ignore it.

This means she’s a little forgetful at how it is to be normal, to be vulnerable and soft and squishy like students so usually are.

She has her issues, but for the most part, visitors get a laugh, a smile, a calm assertive confidence, and facts. She will indulge those who have genuine interest, or show a connection with nature, an understanding of the balance that needs to be struck for everyone to live well together.

Despite her many flaws, she’s fiercely protective, and will go above and beyond to defend the island, it’s staff, the Pokemon and the visitors. Injustice is her biggest gripe, along with littering, and she doesn’t stand by quietly if something happens that seems unfair.

You will not see her without Valka, her vulpix, close by. That Pokemon doesn’t like to be touched by strangers, at all, and will run the second someone comes at her with that intent. Peach will scold you for pushing yourself onto her, should you persistently try to get close to pet Val. They are in sync, if peach is sad, Val is sad, if Val is stressed, peach is stressed, and so on. They are inherently connected, it’s just been that long, the psychic bridge between them has been built, and reinforced over the years.

The only other Pokemon who follows her so endlessly is Booker, a teddiursa who’s pretty rough looking. He quietly trots behind, grouchy and stoic, they fight closely together a lot. He lost his mom a long time ago to poachers, and peach took him in, and changed her whole life for him. Not many people know, but Booker was the reason she left the rangers, changed career, and got so strong. Will tolerate people petting him but isn’t keen at all, grumbles a lot and tries to move away.

You may also need to know about the others, for the sake of writing, she here a few more bits that may be important to you, or others wanting to do this.

Grey is very tall, very burly, composed, tells bad dad jokes, is a bit of a goof if allowed to be. If he sees a pun, he’ll say it. Can’t help himself. Very nice guy to work with, good at keeping people calm and grounded. Pokemon are drawn to him like a moth to a flame, he gives off warm energy, and has inhuman amounts of patience. If you wrong his family however, he will snap back.

He grew up in the city, loves to swim and hike and cycle, can snowboard, is really sporty. A total brain box with held items, and boosting stats. He will explore many paths, to make sure visitors and students get the information they need, in a way that can be remembered and retained for later. Is a huge guy, but will get on the floor to play with a tiny Pokemon. Treats big “meaner” looking species like babies, very good with all pokemon.

His free time is spent either tinkering, swimming, or trimming his bonsai trees. This guy stares at screens a lot, so appreciates time away from them. Peach built him his own little greenhouse for his trees and tools, which he keeps clean and loves dearly.

His methods as a teacher are built around fun and games, he makes hard work easier to do by distracting trainers from the difficult bits, and focusing in on something more interesting or compelling.

His most commonly seen Pokemon would be a houndoom, Saxon, old battle veteran, retired now to herding and being a good boy. Very gentle, loves a pet.

Pari, now a fully fledged nurse, often oversees the labs front desk and pokecentre features, such as healing pokemon, and informing trainers who come to visit. Her skills with eggs and hatchlings is high, she’s great with younger Pokemon, and hands out good advice to trainers a lot. She’s not a fighter, never was, but can find any file, any study, any book, and any refrence you may need. A true bookworm, loves her romance novels, chat shows and upbeat celebrity gossip mags. Will cry at a lot of stuff, be it sad or happy.

She’s got a seriously upbeat personality, but if caught off guard or shocked, she gets a little flustered. Too much chaos will overwhelm her, but usually she’s on top of things. The years spent on the island have made her better at maintaining composure in emergencies. With lots of siblings, she’s very competent with others, and has a good ability to disarm cagey people with her jolly nature. Because of this, she can sometimes gain information from trainers that some of the more harsh professors may not have access to. Charming is a word for it.

Her partners are an eevee, and a happiny. They are quite sweet and well adjusted, the eevee gets a bit bouncy if you get it too excited.

PIPABETH HEADCANONS

After that moment in Sparta when Piper listens to Annabeth's feelings, the two realized that maybe they should listen to their feelings more often, and their feelings towards each other as well. When the two start dating, Leo obliviously says "I had a feeling you two were lesbian." And Piper bursts out laughing, with Annabeth clearly trying to hide her own.

Annabeth, being an architect, draws really well, so sometimes she'll sketch Piper sword-training with Jason, or the other crew members doing mundane things. But the way she draws them makes them seem almost alive, life-like, magical even. Piper has a drawer of drawings from Annabeth.

They cuddle. A lot. They have their own designated Cuddle Blanket, because the rest of the blankets are either on their beds or too small for both of them.

JERCY/PERSON HEADCANONS

Percy gets very distracted whenever Jason is around- "He's just so pretty, y'know?", Percy says- and will often zone out, sometimes while he's still moving. As a result, he will sometimes walk straight into unmoving objects, most commonly a telephone pole.

One time, Percy asked Piper and Hazel to help him experiment with makeup (just to try it, see how he liked it. He saw boys in other places wearing makeup, and wanted to try it himself). The girls agreed, and that day, he showed up to the dining hall with Rodrick Heffley-esque eyeliner, and Nico and Jason both started internally freaking out. Nico's freakout was "Oh my god???? Did I influence this somehow??? He looks nice, but I am NOT used to this-", and Jason's was "OH MY GOD HE LOOKS SO HOT I MIGHT PASS AWAY"

At Camp Half-Blood, a guy in Aphrodite cabin was getting shit for wearing a skirt, so the next day, Percy showed up wearing a teal flare skirt and combat boots as retaliation (and support for the other boy), and he rocked the look. Jason took a few pictures for the lols, but also because Percy actually looked fine as hell in that skirt.

Here's my commentary on my rewatch of Agents of SHIELD Season 3 Episodes 11-22. This may not be the best commentary since these are just the thoughts and opinions that come to my mind as I watch the episodes rather than a full-blown analysis, but I'm just having fun with it!

3x11 Bouncing Back

YOYO EPISODE FINALLY!

Also ominous 3 months from now screen. It’s kinda sad rewatching it, knowing what results from it.

Also wish we got more of the friendship between Lincoln and Jemma. Being doctors, it definitely had potential.

I understand Lincoln’s hesitation.

I love the character development that Elena went through in season 7, but I really liked the restraint on her powers, having to snap back to one place. I feel like it added something unique to a commonly used super power.

Elena’s power is just so fun. And her little smiles when they are attacking the police station🥰

And even from her very first episode, we see how Elena can be impulsive, thus forcing herself to snap back.

Sad that this is the only episode Elena was in with Bobbi and Hunter. Bobbi and Elena would have been such a badass pair, and I feel like Elena and Hunter would have had a fun, bouncing off each other type of relationship.

A symposium on how to handle inhumans without an inhuman present in fear of “offending” them? Bullshit.

I get May’s anger at Hunter. Really, I get it. However, I don’t think it was fair of her to speak to Hunter the way she did. Hunter does actually care a lot for the team. Yes, Bobbi is his reasoning for most things, but he really does love this team.

Talbot’s character in this episode is just him being racist/xenophobic.

Also, does Talbot know about Daisy’s powers? Like, I don’t think he was ever formally informed of it.

They still have Daisy’s blood from 2 years ago? Then again, Jemma did take so many vials of it after she got shot.

I do agree that becoming inhuman should be a choice and some might actually want a vaccine, but Daisy does have a point that the government would most definitely make it mandatory, exterminating the inhuman race.

Also, Lincoln makes it out to be his powers that scared off Daisy. Really, it was the dig at her past that she had to do to survive.

Is it weird that I wish we got to see more of the character’s bedrooms? Lincoln’s isn’t that decorated but I’d like to see how other characters like Daisy, May, or Mack have personalized their spaces.

Also, as someone who has worn many sports bras, how the hell was Daisy able to take hers off in one swift movement?

And while I enjoy the staticquake sexy time, the door is literally WIDE open. Like, okay I guess?😂 Fitzsimmons and other agents are still on base. And Mack isn’t in this episode, so he might be there too. Though I feel like he’s had his fair share of walking/hearing in on Bobbi and Hunter and later Fitzsimmons.

3x13 Parting Shot

I get why Fitz and Mack have their reservations, wanting to be the bigger person and all, but Daisy doesn’t “hurt” people for no reason. It’s never her intentions to hurt people, but she does need to get through the people who are intentionally hurting innocents. Lives are at stake. That’s what Daisy’s focus is on. The Watchdogs should not be given a single inch to do more harm.

It’s not something I see often, but I have seen people blame Daisy for what happens to Mack and Fitz in this episode, which is just stupid. The Watchdogs are at fault. Just want to make it clear: what happened to Fitz and Mack were not Daisy’s fault.

The fact that this episode sets up SO MANY things for the future of the show. Lincoln’s death, literally the plot of season 5. So many things are a result of this episode.

Plot hole: Robin is described to be 18 months old prior to season 3 (1.5 years old) then suddenly she’s like 7 years old in season 5, which is only 2 years later??

The Hinton story is just so sad. Charles left to make sure Robin never saw a death only for her to get precognition like him and see even more bad things.

I love that May never doubts Daisy’s abilities. She always believes in Daisy, but I believe she was okay to take her place and agree with Coulson because, not only could that change the future outcome, but because she wanted to protect Daisy from the harm that could have been caused. Especially given that there would be a death happening, there was definitely a chance the death Daisy saw was her own.

“I refuse to believe anything is completely inevitable” season 5 proves this belief, but your actions in season 5 totally disregard this belief.

I love Daisy’s season 3B hair. It’s slightly longer than it was in season 3A and has a curl to it. I love it!

3x16 Paradise Lost

I already didn’t like this episode, but season 7 made me dislike it even more.

Funny how my favorite and least favorite episodes of the season are back to back.

Hard to believe just a little over 2 years ago, I felt bad for Nathaniel Malick. Now, fuck him.

And there’s the infamous bleeding cheek scar on Daisy that never seems to go away.

It’s also crazy to hear Gideon and Nathaniel talk about their dad and actually knowing and seeing who this guy is.

I also think I don’t like this episode because it reminds me of 1x21 (but that episode at least has some redeeming qualities) By that I mean 1x21 I feel like tried to build sympathy for Ward, who at that point was revealed to be Hydra. I feel like this episode is trying to make me sympathize with Malick, which I sure as hell do not.

Getting locked in a room with Melinda May. That’s either a dream or a nightmare depending on how you look at it.

Another thing that’s important in season 5.

“Birds can be scary” As someone who got chased by geese at a park/lake when I was like 8 or 9, I agree.

I like that Coulson acknowledges that he did go off the deep end before.

Again, I used to feel bad for Nathaniel, but I guess Gideon did something good by sending Nathaniel through the portal. (I’m not sure if I mean this sarcastically)

Isn’t Nathaniel’s memory in Hive? And Hive is now kissing Malick’a daughter?? This is weird.

So when did Gordon show up for inhumans? Is it more so if they’re in trouble? Cause he picked up Lincoln when he almost killed his ex. He picked up Daisy when she was being chased by real shield (which makes me wonder if he knew if she was Jiaying’s daughter given he could’ve easily found her and brought her to her mom years ago)

I’m glad Daisy at least told someone about the vision instead of bottling it up and keeping it to herself.

SHIELD and the team really did go about this wrong. They should have been notified immediately instead of leaving them in the dark. Things probably wouldn’t have been as bad.

WHY DID THEY START SHOOTING?

This is what I mean. Daisy looks almost scared of herself when she quakes Joey against the wall.

“We’ll be stronger next time. You’ll see” has different implications when you think about Daisy being under the sway.

Chloe really does play the crazy sway well.

The Mack and May banter in the beginning is great.

Again, love the May and Jemma dynamic this season.

It makes you think the quinjet was in space only for them to be under water WHICH IS STILL COOL.

They’re literally treating her like a criminal while forcing her to speak about things she most definitely has PTSD about. She was shown no comfort or support after being a victim of trauma.

Everywhere they go, there’s just barely enough land to land a quinjet.

What’s with using harsh tones with Daisy, Jemma? She’s giving you information you asked for.

This is how I feel about StaticQuake. Neither were ready for their relationship. They both had issues that needed work. They had their cute moments which made me love it before, but knowing what I do, it’s clear as day how their relationship wouldn’t have worked. Maybe in another universe, but not this one.
