main take aways from Halloween (1978) rewatch:
michael myers is canonically 21??? this bitch should be at the club
*sees tiddies* ***MURDEROUS RAMPAGE NOISES***
that's it that's the movie
outside of the fact that everyone who has sex is murdered by the narrative, this is a surprisingly chill portrayal of female sexuality? these teen girls are horny and actively enjoying Getting It On with their boytoys. no pushy boyfriends sneaking in through their bedroom windows--these ladies are taking the initiative to sneak out and GET SOME. one of them gets laid and then immediately orders her boyfriend to get her a beer. (yes she gets Slashered soon afterward, but so does the boyfriend so honestly, gender equality.) yes the Final Girl is the only one not having sex, but she's not bullied for that, nor are her friends slut shamed except possibly by being murdered by the narrative
actually the only character who is shown being morally condemned on-screen is michael myers. specifically FOR his violent overreaction to other people's sex lives. (people he is spying on). metaphorically, the villain is American Puritanism sticking its judgy nose into other people's business.
aka Michael Myers Is A Republican
but actually the real villain is the doctor. guy's a judgemental, shaming, pathologizing asshole. and he's been in charge of michael's care since he was SIX YEARS OLD? kid never had a chance. i'd go on a killing spree too
also the parents. where are the parents? it's halloween night and all the teenage girls are home babysitting their younger siblings? come to think of it, michael's first victim was his own older sister, whom he killed while she was babysitting him. teen girls are really shouldering a labour burden here. maybe parentification is the true villain
side note: mike commits his first murder wearing a clown costume...which is never referenced again? his 'iconic' costume is a generic mask and wig and jumpsuit, when we coulda had a Killer Clown Michael Myers??? travesty
i like how the Final Girl and her friend casually smoke weed in her car. yeah she's an honor student and her friend is the sheriff's daughter. yeah they smoke weed. so what it's 1978
(to reiterate, mike is 21 and should be at the club. im not saying he shouldn't be rampaging, im saying it's sad that he broke out, tasted freedom for the first time in his life, and immediately snuck back into his childhood home to go rampaging. let's have a remake where he goes to a nightclub and has a few beers. maybe some slutty dancing. then rampage)
oh no he's hot
#HALLOWEEN#halloween the movie#michael myers#do you think he's a mike? mikey? to his friends? if slashers had friends?#i'll be honest i was expecting this movie to be way more of a bitch to its female characters#i mean yeah they died but so did some dudes#there's just a lack of cattiness compared to the way most later movies portrayed teenage girls idk#yeah the Final Girl is a Virgin and a Bookworm. but there's no bullying or any strong sense that's she's morally superior to everyone else#mostly she AND the other girls feel a bit sorry for her lack of a social life. one even tries to set her up with a date to the school dance#solidarity! trying to get your nerd friend laid!#overall it's just teenagers being teenagers and then a slasher comes in and ruins everything with his Lack Of Chill#like yeah dude sometimes teenagers have sex. get over it#also something to be said about how while the girl who survives is the one who isn't sexually active and dresses conservatively...#ultimately those things aren't ENOUGH to prevent her from being targeted#you could say that the other girls 'provoked' the villain (the same way women irl are so often accused of provoking their attackers)#but ultimately that doesn't keep the Final Girl safe. it just delays the inevitable.#because violent men never need excuses. no matter how eager society is to provide them.#ultimately she is at the mercy of the same violent whims because it was never her behavior that invited the violence.#gendered violence doesn't need an invitation.#also she doesn't save herself the doctor saves her#it's not her actions or choices that put her in danger OR save her from it--once again it is the whim of a man#no this wasn't intended to be a feminist movie it's just fun how you could argue it that way

tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.
he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.
except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.
and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.
or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)
they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.
and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.
optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.
and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.
#i talk a lot <3#transformers#transformers one#tfone#optimus prime#orion pax#baby prime orion au#this is mostly an excuse for me to draw the primes and baby OP later on. just to be clear.#i WILL be drawing this at some point lmao#tbh i'm a little uncertain how i want things to progress#because on one hand it would be very tasty and tense if sentinel recognized optimus during the race#but that means a lot of changes very early on in the plot and i would have to do a lot of Thinking on how to justify getting the gang#to still pick up bee and elita. cause i love them <3#i do think it'd be very funny if the high guard's plan worked like a charm except for the very tiny fact that they didn't count#on orion being an absolute hellion. like. this kid is Not Going Unnoticed and it's completely his own fault lmao#in this version maybe a member of the high guard stayed behind to keep an eye on orion and is able to get them out before they're killed#but instead of taking them to where the primes fell they take them directly to the high guard#which is very awkward because it's a very moving and emotional moment for the high guard who are finally reunited with their little prime#all grown up and healthy and blessedly *alive*. except orion doesn't fucking remember any of them and is very confused as to why#the legendary warriors of cybertron are getting all weepy over him. they finally explain the truth to him which is a Fucking Bomb#to drop on anyone but especially a group of kids who almost got killed by the person they all thought the world of just hours ago#they also return orion's t-cog to him which would create some tension between him and the rest of the gang because this time#he's the only one getting his cog back. add to it that they were just told he's the equivalent of a demi-god and... well.#there's a gap between him and them that wasn't there before#on the other version of events that follows canon more closely everything goes the same up until the gang finds the primes in the cave#and wake up alpha trion who now not only has to deal with the fact the rest of his siblings are dead but that he missed fifty cycles#of his baby brother's life. that the only sibling he has left does not remember him or his true identity at all.#he has to choose between telling him the truth which has the risk of unbalancing him in a critical moment where he cannot afford to#be distracted because they're being hunted down. or let him remain unaware. let him forget their family and the love they had for him#but letting him remain free of the knowledge of what he lost and the heartbreak it would bring.

"the Gabe and Sally dynamic in the show is abusive" and "the way they've portrayed Gabe in the show is distinctly different from his book counterpart and fans can criticize that" are two discussions that can coexist
#I understand that this is hard topic to navigate#but me saying that /they've changed Gabe and that's consequently altered the dynamic he has with Sally in way I don't like/#is NOT me saying I don't think what they've portrayed onscreen is non-abusive#or that I WANT to see him abuse her???#its just the guy in the show while clearly controlling and abusive (emotionally and financially so far)#...I don't believe he's the guy who's presence was so horrid and disgusting MONSTERS avoided him#I wouldn't call him /Smelly/#in the book his abuse (all forms) is much more overt#(and just to be painstakingly clear: abuse doesn't have to be overt to be abuse)#but the guy in the show does not have the same presence as the guy in the book#book Gabe is menacing#he growls and he threatens and both Sally and Percy have developed very specific responses to deal with it#I've seen one take saying that people can't recognize the abuse in the show because its not physical (yet?)#but even disregarding the physical abuse entirely#if you compare the book scene and TV show scene of Percy arriving home and he and Sally readying for Montauk#there is a pretty stark difference in tone#and in how both Sally and Percy interact with Gabe#in the book Sally goes out of her way to avoid /provoking/ Gabe and asks Percy to do the same until they can leave for Montauk#and Gabe is just itching for any excuse to keep them home#and imo if Book Sally had said the things that show Sally did to Gabe#Gabe wouldn't have let them gone!#and again im not saying that the show's depiction is nonabusive#or unrealistic#im saying its simply /different/ than the book#and im upset that it doesn't feel like dynamic depicted the book#and no book sally is no simpering wilting flower#but she's also not what they depicted in the show either#pjo adaptation#sally jackson#pjo

thinking about that teen wolf scene where scott and stiles realize that the darach is targeting virgins and stiles is panicking cause he’s a virgin and now i’m imagining a new upside down baddie doing human virgin sacrifices and eddie is Freaking Out and telling nancy (cause let’s face it she’d be the one to figure it out)
“you know who else is a virgin, wheeler? me. i’m a virgin, okay? and you know what that means? it means that my lack of sexual experience is now literally a threat to my life. okay, I need to have sex, like, right now. someone needs to have sex with me, like, today. like, someone needs to sex me right now!”
and steve, who just walked in, goes “alright, i’ll do it” like danny did in the teen wolf scene except steve isn’t joking. he means it
and then they have sex. just to protect eddie’s life of course
#steve probably doesn't know he's into eddie yet so he tells robin he was just being a good friend because duh he's not letting eddie die#eddie on the other hand is no longer freaking out about the virgin snatcher monster coming for him#freaking out instead over the fact that he wants to have sex with steve again and also date him and kiss him etc etc#he tells steve that they should have sex again just to “make sure it worked”#steve agrees immediately because he's not taking any chances when it comes to eddie of course#it's not until they kill the monster and they no longer have an excuse to sleep together that they admit they want to keep doing it#robin nearly strangles them both#steddie#monse talks

i feel like ,,, like we talk a lot about how fear-motivated c!dream's actions are, yeah, because you know c!dream is consistently paranoid as fuck and So Much of why he's like that is because he's too scared to think straight and doing batshit insane shit as a result, but at the same time i think that his ... awareness? of this? can be vastly overestimated. c!dream doesn't like being afraid. c!dream is historically Really Fucking Bad at admitting or acknowledging when he's actually terrified of a situation, because that means he's lost control of it. if he's Worried about a situation he's still ahead of it, if he's Cautious or making preparations or getting things in line to make sure that those closest to him don't get in the line of fire he's still retained a degree of control, but all of that isn't quite the same as admitting he's doing anything because he's scared out of his mind, because scared out of his mind isn't exactly a state that c!dream likes to be in.
and this is why c!dream is so adamant on transactional relationships with anyone that he perceives as having a modicum of real power, because being useful to powerful people makes him less of a target because they need something from him. this is why he is so desperate to convince himself that he's on top when it comes to sam, when it comes to quackity, when it comes to wilbur, and he's saying all of this hidden inside his own hell after hiding there for months having barely confronted c!quackity before getting the hell out of dodge. this is why he scrambles to make sure to show that he's not indebted to technoblade and why he puts himself in foolish's service within minutes of meeting him and why a fucking feeling of power against an unarmed man he could've locked in a box with him with a press of a button was enough to get him to shut up and obey no matter how damn unsubstantiated that feeling ended up being because he couldn't bear to lose it, even just within his own head
and so you know, when c!dream calls c!tommy the one thing out of his control as a motivation for exile during the same time he had to fight off multiple coups explicitly with the desire to do away with him so that theyd be able to "rule the server," like. look. c!dream is just so fucking far from a reliable narrator. i'm sure he could give me an itemized list of how c!tommy has ruined his life, i'm sure he can say all these things about how c!tommy causes chaos and causes problems and doesn't listen to anyone, i'm sure he can go on and on and on about how it'd be a different story if c!tommy just listened to him for once. but let's be real, here--as much as he's convinced himself that he's trying to get control of the one thing out of his control, what's closer to reality is that c!tommy was the one thing he did feel like he could control (hello, the discs) when literally everything else wasn't
#c!dream is so damn delusional about his own feelings like#like yeah c!tommy causes problems c!tommy doesn't listen c!tommy was going to pursue the disc war during a time#where c!dream particularly couldn't deal with any more on top of what was already on his plate#but c!tommy (guy who can be made to listen if you just have one of two pieces of vinyl) wasn't the Least Controllable Part Of His Life#like come on now#c!tommy was an easy excuse when he was up to his ears in problems#because anger and annoyance were 20x easier to cope with than existential dread and terror

"I'm a robot. A machine bound by commands."
'Cir is a stalker!' 'Cir is a red flag!' 'Cir is manipulating!'
Sorta novel spoilers:
Cir, in fact, is mentally ill and a victim of abuse.
He doesn't know how to human. Does he make mistakes because of that? Yes. But he does so because he doesn't know the healthy way to do it.
Cir's never had anything of his own. His life wasn't even his own. He calls himself a robot and it's true because that's what he was raised like. His life has been nothing more than following orders. A tool used for revenge in his parents' divorce. Used for nothing more than power and control. Stretching, stretching, stretching the rubber band that symbolizes his life and sanity.
He had no autonomy. None. Zero. Because of that, he's never allowed himself anything.
But all humans (even those who are just 'tools') have hopes and wants. Ways that they wish they could be like, live like, act like. There's no way around the want aching deep in your very core. At some point, that rubber band will snap and they act out.
Is it then weird that Cir doesn't know a healthy way to do so? No. No, it is not. Cir doesn't know how to human, but he's trying. For the first time in… well, probably ever he's allowing himself to want something (someone!) He's just going about it the wrong way. But I can't fault him for that because he never a healthy example.
#Cir's abuse is not an excuse for his behavior but it /is/ an explanation#wrong still? yes. forgivable? also yes.#cir my wittle puppy#wanna coddle him to the ends of earth and back#he deserves the world#he's not a red flag#an orange flag at most!#he makes some (morally) wrong decisions but he doesn't have any ill intention WHATSOEVER#I will scream it from the highest mountain tops if i must#cir has never wanted to hurt a fly#he just wants a life of his own#cirrus#cirrus tbnw#the boy next world#the boy next world the series#tbnw#boy next world#cirrusphukan#cirrus x phukan#cirphu

Event Horizon is a very good movie but that is not the point of this post right now. Extremely long post about speculative clone biology and what might have happened to Gabriel had Hux and the Entity not intervened under the cut
Over its many years of operation, Huxlee Industries has refined its narrative-building techniques to create increasingly detailed and intricate false memories for its cloned subjects. Where appropriate, the lab technicians responsible for programming the clones' narrative memories will manufacture fictional romantic relationships as well as familial ones. The decision to add prior romantic partners to a clone's falsified memories must be handled carefully - Huxlee's narrative builders have to program their clone subjects with enough memories to create the illusion of a full life lived, but this narrative cannot be TOO detailed, or the clone may experience psychological instability from a perceived loss of connection to their fictional loved ones. Romantic entanglements are typically only programmed in when it is deemed necessary to offset a potential personality flaw in the subject. A clone manufactured to express bold, adventurous behavior is an asset to any colonization mission, but these traits could just as easily spell disaster if that clone decides to go rogue and flee into the alien wilds. Programming their memories to include a girlfriend waiting up for them back home on Earth, however, encourages them to stick with the mission. They have someone to get home to, after all. Or at least they think that they do.
All non-settler-population clone lineage formulas are manufactured to produce sterile clones, since any unplanned clone pregnancies would result in lower mission productivity and potential profit loss. Clones with uteri and ovaries still undergo a menstrual cycle every month to maintain the subject's internal narrative and psychological stability. Clones with testes produce nonviable sperm. [Data gathered by top Huxlee Industries scientists indicates that the average volume of clone ejaculate is slightly higher than those of non-clones (5-7mL for clones compared to 1.5-5mL for non-clones). It is unclear why this is but they have their top scientists working on unraveling this crucial mystery.] This, however, doesn't mean that clone pregnancies are impossible. Life finds a way. More specifically, Huxlee can't completely prevent random mutations from happening that reverse or weaken the sterilization process, although this phenomenon is extremely rare. It is highly unlikely that any fetus conceived by clone parents would survive to full term, and even less likely that this hypothetical child would survive for more than a few days to a month after birth. Huxlee's clone gene pool is very carefully monitored and "pruned" when it is deemed necessary to maintain "batch" purity, and clone pregnancies carry an extremely high risk of fatal birth defects. To try and further mitigate the risk of clone/clone sexual activity and potential pregnancies, Huxlee will often incorporate libido-lowering pharmaceuticals into the clones' nutrient paste.
Clones are, by default, programmed to be heterosexual and cisgender. This, thankfully, is an easier condition to reverse than the laboratory-mandated sterilization process. Same-sex clone relationships are not necessarily discouraged, as there is no associated pregnancy risk with such a coupling (which is Huxlee's primary concern when it comes to clone team interaction), though clone romantic entanglements of any kind are generally discouraged and are minimized wherever possible.
Gabriel was not the first clone to experience doubts about his identity, but he is the first clone to actually discover the truth and live to tell the tale. Dmitri was the only person aboard the Caracas III with knowledge of the cloning program and was fully aware that Gabriel (and the remaining eight crewmen) were clones. However, Huxlee constructed Dmitri's personal narrative in such a way that he firmly believed he was the only non-clone aboard the ship and had been sent on the mission to monitor the clone labor force. His orders were to maintain the subjects' personal narratives at all costs. Firstly by verbal deception, using the mandatory psychological evaluation periods to assess each crew member for signs of "narrative instability". Internally, this was referred to as "Stage I Redirection". If the crew member still displayed signs of instability after repeated verbal redirection, Dmitri was authorized to administer hypospray as necessary ("Stage II Redirection"). Had Hux not massacred the crew when he did, Gabriel would have been subjected to Stage III Redirection - termination. Stage III was a true last resort, but was deemed necessary to prevent the subject's instability from impacting the other crew members or adversely affecting the mission. After obtaining Stage III authorization from the Huxlee project manager responsible for reviewing the Dvarka mission's progress, Dmitri would have been given access to the manufacturing formula for a last-resort secret pharmaceutical - a single dose of Aldicide, a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and virtually untraceable method of euthanasia. Dmitri's orders were to mix the Aldicide into Gabriel's evening nutrient paste ration and quietly monitor the events to come. Death by Aldicide is peaceful, for the most part. Aldicide poisoning begins with a sudden wave of fatigue, which would have been easily explained away as general end-of-day tiredness, and a creeping sensation of coldness in the fingers and toes as blood circulation begins to slow. The victim typically falls asleep about 30 - 45 minutes after ingestion. Death follows sleep as the body slowly slips into a state of paralysis. Function is first lost in the limbs, graduating to major organ failure as the Aldicide takes hold. Death by cardiac arrest occurs approximately 1.5 - 2 hours after ingestion. This may seem like a prolonged and cruel method of euthanasia, but Huxlee designed Aldicide poisoning to take place across this timeframe on purpose. The intention was to deliver as painless of a death as possible, both to ensure that the victim did not panic and harm other crewmen or company property on their way out and to reduce crew suspicion. A sudden death raises questions; dying in your sleep under some sort of freak accidental circumstances is far less suspicious. Had Dmitri received authorization for Stage III Redirection, Gabe would have had time to say his good-nights to the rest of the crew before turning in early and, from everyone else's perspective, would have died peacefully in his sleep. Ironically, Hux saved Gabe's life by going on his little rampage. Dmitri had been communicating with Huxlee in secret throughout the final few weeks of the Dvarka mission, trying to find a solution to Gabriel's instability that didn't involve drugging him into oblivion with hypospray or dosing him with Aldicide. Shortly before Hux cut the power to the Caracas III's life support systems, Dmitri received Stage III Redirection authorization from Huxlee's project management board. Gabriel would have been killed the following night. Following all company procedures related to the handling of human remains, his body would have been incinerated aboard the Caracas III.

Surprisingly.. him! I think it's somewhat sweet that despite having all the riches in the world, he still only wants the one thing that his childish self wanted.
I kinda headcanon him to be pre-point Naen, and thus headcanon Naen to be a huge sweet-tooth! Also a bunch of other things, but I won't go off about them on here hjkfdhks

if dorian didn't show up, do you think louis would have shot minnie?
I do. I know some people think either he wouldn't have or he would've missed so that's why the writers had him shoot Dorian instead, but mmmmmm no, I don't personally think so. I like to think that if he had taken the shot, his shaky hands would've caused him to shoot her fatally.
Mostly because I'm already so normal about the fact that of the Ericson crew, Marlon and Louis are the only ones with a body count. Well, that we know of, but shown to us in the game, at least. Plus, we know it's Louis' first kill.
Like yeah, Clementine and AJ become part of the crew and they have bigger body counts, and if we're counting indirect kills caused by actions, then Tenn has a count... and I guess everyone has blood on their hands for blowing up the boat... but I'm talking about killed directly with a weapon like....... I lied, I'm not normal about that at all, Louis and Marlon are the ones who have killed someone in Louis' route. I'm also not normal about the fact that Louis kills Dorian and then even as he's clearly in shock, he tries to go with Clementine to get AJ, and then later on when they talk about it, he says it feels like bile but not quite and he's glad he has it in him to do it.... listen, listen, listen... I'm obsessed with that.
Anyway, so if Louis shot Minerva, I think he would've accidentally killed her and can you imagine? He's already enough of a mess after killing the woman who pinned him down and tried to cut his finger off [or succeeded] but he knew Minerva, they were friends before the twins were taken. Even Violet couldn't kill her even though that would've been the smarter thing to do, and we know thanks to meta knowledge that killing her would've saved lives, but Violet couldn't, and I don't think Louis would intentionally either.
Speaking of Violet, if Louis killed Minerva, I hate to think about what that would've done to Vi. I think she might've actually left at that point, like what was planned before it got changed to her being burned. I don't think she would've attacked Louis over it, though, like yeah she attacked Clementine in the cell but Louis? I don't know, but I don't think so just because it's Louis and he'd be a mess about it anyway.
Though if he did kill her, it would be a neat parallel to draw... y'know, because Louis forgave AJ for killing Marlon even though he was pissed and heartbroken, and Violet was annoyed with him the entire time... but could she ever forgive Louis for killing Minerva? Y'know? We already have a similar parallel with AJ shooting Tenn, but still.
If Clementine killed Minerva in that moment, though, then I could see Violet attacking her since in her eyes, Clem proved her right.
So yeah, I get why they added the Dorian kill to his route. It adds another compelling element to Louis as a character, but we also need Minerva alive for episode 4; Louis can't kill her, he can't miss, and he's not going to stay with her because we need Violet to stay on the boat and him to be on shore for all routes.
#asks#twdg louis#twdg minerva#twdg clementine#twdg violet#twdg marlon#twdg tenn#honestly whenever i see someone say louis is the boring option i'm just like '.......that's your opinion but also how can you say that??'#then again i'm sure other people look at me saying violentine just isn't for me and they say the same thing so y'know... i can't talk haha#also time is such a weird thing because i look at the entire cell scene in louis' route and like... i'm not even mad about violet anymore#like yeah i still don't believe she was brainwashed like i'm sorry y'all only believe that because kent said something about it#not because there's all this evidence toward it in game like vi being pissed at clementine makes sense she doesn't need to be brainwashed#for it to work like her being vulnerable and easily manipulated into submission makes perfect sense especially with minerva there#it's like everyone was pissed that she attacked clementine and people needed a way to excuse it so it's not violet's fault when like...#that's literally what makes it interesting like calm down it's okay if violet is pissed and scared and behaves accordingly#also my controversial opinion of the day that i'll hide here in the tags so maybe people won't find it sksksk but#I personally find the concept of vinerva and the doomed tragedy of it more compelling than anything violentine did#like i'll defend violentine and i do believe it's an important and good ship it's just not my personal favorite#anyway but then the whole thing with lilly and minerva is so good and louis screaming FUCK YOU at minerva?? amazing love it so good#i love when the soft character who never chooses violence is so pissed off that all that anger they have boils to the surface and it's raw#like... he's SO mad he's SO furious he's SOOO UPSET like he wasn't even like this when marlon died or anything like he hit his limit#and then shooting dorian through the mouth while an accident is just well done i love it and i love his reaction of mortification#and apologizing and YET he still tries to go with clementine he's trembling and can barely string together a sentence but he wants to go#he wants to help her he wants to save aj THAT is the gut reaction he has after everything that just went down#'louis isn't loyal or good for clem because of the vote' babe tell me you don't understand any nuance of louis' character without telling m#it's fine IT'S FINE you don't have to agree and i just have to remind myself that it's fine not everyone likes louis we're okay#this drives me crazy in the best way like y'know what? i love the cells scene in louis' route all of it even the stuff i used to rant about#even the stuff that used to piss me off now i'm just like 'no wait past cj was dumb she wasn't looking at it this way aaaaaaaa' sksksks#that was my tag ted talk about the cell scene thank you

Part 1: Mad King's War
Prologue: Diverged History(pages 11-16)
#myart#fanart#fire emblem#naesala#fe lissa#chrom#fe frederick#<- he is itty bitty for like a page but he's there#tellius#fire emblem awakening#Fire Emblem Wrong Bird au#FE WB au MKW#FE WB au MKW prologue#yep amnesia trope#i've had a rocky history with amnesia as a trope#for awhile i just hated it on principle like younger me just thought it was stupid and had no real purpose#these days i tend to think any trope or idea(or most of them anyways) can work with the right execution#amnesia included#will this have the right execution? i frankly have no idea because i've never tried executing it before#goes for most anything and everything involved in this fancomic frankly but i've repeated that ad nauseam at this point#the way i see it is that my problems tend to arise from it being mentioned once or twice to excuse exposition questions from a character#sometimes there is plot reason but doesn't change how it gets so easily glossed over#everything or near everything has been forgotten that is a pretty damn big deal#sure you don't want to go overboard with it either (going too overboard leads to that being their only personality trait after all) but-#-at least acknowledge it more then just “oh this guy has amnesia lets move on”#sure i'm only on part 1 and the prologue at that but i'm trying to follow my own advice somewhat for this au#hence this batch being about the slow yet horrifying realization that he does not remember jack shit#not where he is going not where he is from not a single person in his life#he'll eventually get back to his usual personality at least somewhat-#-something something some traits are ingrained in him amnesia or not-

Honestly I'm also not fully happy with what they did with Whis this book
#morningtalks#asc spoilers#Not like they gave Whistlepaw a lot of screentime at all despite how relevant WindClan was all of a sudden#(nooooo that had to go to Crowfeather. Not like he's got enough attention with TNP + PO3 + his super edition + deputyship + TBC#+ Changing Skies now too. Noooooooooooooooooooo we really can't have a single other cat in WindClan be important)#At least Whis had an excuse. Making Additional Content for another book that readers have to buy and be USELESS in that book#But Whistlebreeze?#Out of all the fun names you could've chosen. Whistlebreeze?#At least it's not Whistlepelt or Whistleheart#But really? Whistlebreeze?#I find it boring honestly#It's obviously a me thing. I'm obviously going to take Whis' name more seriously than most because I draw that damned cat Every Single Day#But there were so many possibilities for really poetic and pretty names#But they stuck with the simple option. Whistlebreeze#I obviously wanted Whistlebird#But with Ivypool's Therapy Session you could've made an argument for Whistlestorm#Even if it doesn't sound good at all. The two 't' s really don't make for a good name#But it would've been better than Whistlebreeze as far as I'm concerned#-breeze as a suffix can be cute and I like it but it has little to do with Whis aside from WindClan#Whistlebird neither but it sounds fun and has a rare suffix#Obviously Whistlefrost would've been hilarious#Heck. I just thought about Whistlecreek. Kinda odd but could be a more discrete hommage to Frostdawn as a RiverClan cat#(Frostdawn is a good name tho. Pissed she's back to being a healer but Frostdawn is good at least)#I also love the -berry suffix but with Berryheart just being a nuisance it would've been a very stupid decision here#But I'm just annoyed that they went with Whistlebreeze. It's boring. It's kinda pretty yeah but it adds nothing#It says ''Whis is a WindClan cat.''#Whistle- is a hard prefix to work with. The 't' and 'l' at the end makes it nearly impossible for a good amount of suffixes#Because they wouldn't sound good. (Any occlusive or lateral would've been horrendous. That's why Whistlelight sounds bad. Too many L's)#Whistlebreeze does sound nice at least but again it's bland and I am disappointed and really they could've done so much#With this name. Whistle is a difficult prefix but it offers so much poetic potential

thinkin bout that one scene in invincible where mark and his friends are all hanging out but he just hovers alone by the window all tense until eve conjures him a non-alcoholic drink so he can join in and have fun :(
#this stuff is what runs through my head when mark is like 'i have to quit college i have to get better i have to be better'#the decision makes sense broadly but with mark's specific heroing tendencies it's Not Great#bro's already waaaaay too down on himself he doesn't need any more excuses to make his life miserable#bc misery -> stress -> anger -> violence and then the cycle just continues baby#willow whispers#invincible
