even though i fear it might be a bit too obvious of a twist i do really like the theory that all of the "cast members" had their minds digitally copied into the circus and their "real" selves are out there just living their lives while their digital selves are genuinely trapped in the circus forever. i feel like it'd be a pretty natural evolution of the show's existentialism, and it would make pomni's speech to gummigoo retroactively apply to herself and her friends. plus the general concept of an AI copy of yourself learning how to be more sincere and authentic than you are irl is very yummy to me
