This confession is huge and so valid of Cir because I don't think he's been afraid of his mother for a looooooong time. He's pushed down his emotions, locked them up and thrown away the key. His mother could do what she wanted with him because Cir didn't have anything to lose. Not his life, not himself, and certainly not his autonomy, because he never had any since the divorce.
And after, Cir's never needed to be scared because there was nothing left to lose.
But he does now and that- that's the scariest of all.
