liking Reed has irreversibly changed my relationship to fiction because now i'm automatically sympathetic towards villains.
the villain is planning and plotting to keep the love of their life by their side? we love to see a motivated individual take charge of their life. villain is planning to destroy the world? yesss king, omg you're absolutely cooking. the villain has a sad backstory and is incredibly messed up by their trauma? even better. i love you so much, i want you to find peace and happiness and/or fulfil all of your dreams and wishes. (this includes destroying the world.)
#s-class heroine spoilers#a transmigrator's privilege#the perks of being an s class heroine#reed#liking reed has made me so much gentler towards villains and characters who are horrible people in general#when he tells ailette 'interesting. you still want to save me even after all ive done?' and im like yes king you still deserve kindness 😔#reed's such a fun guy because im sure that on some level. after being taken advantage of for all his life he just doesnt seem himself as#someone to whom kindness is given to. kindness is something you give to others but not to (MASSIVE SPOILERS) tesilid argente#but more importantly hes just really mad he wants and needs to break some shit#and after so long of repressing things. no wonder lol#anw this was prompted by me reading a webtoon whr the villain is outwardly gentle to the FL whos his fiance#but actually plotted to make her grand plans fail so that#she wouldnt become so obscenely rich that she could break of their fake engagement as planned#which is so interesting to me#bc yes hes manipulating and controlling and wtv and their relationship is not healthy and is doomed#but also hes unfailingly made her comfortable in his presence. she doesnt see him as a threat at all and relies on him sooo much#which is cute! not in real life but very cute conceptually#get you a man who makes humanity almost lose the war against demons because he doesnt want to lose you. lmao. whats wrong with him#just go confess to her properly you idiot. youre the fiance 😭#this is about 'hiding the archduke's humiliating history'#funny guy. i hope we get more screentime of him. i hope the FL falls in love with him. <- delusional

MHA chapter 426
4 more chapters until MHA ends and wow!!!
Honestly this chapter was mainly the conclusion of the todoroki family arc which I still hate how it played out and ended. The whole todoroki family NOT INCLUDING ENJI deserves so much better than what horikoshi gave them.
Hawks is the new HPSC leader?!?! I feel like the system should of just been destroyed considering how much it hurt everyone and hawks by no means has any proper character development to take this role. Hawks hasn't really broken down his flawed beliefs or truly developed from his mentality that ended up getting one of the most redeemable league of villains members aka twice killed. Also he barely reflects on his actions and all of this feels so underwhelming and unprepared for.
Tumblr media
Todoroki family deserves better. The ABSLOUTELY vile ending the todoroki family received is horrible like I really feel like they should just runaway and live in a house without endeavour and actually take up on endeavours attornment bs. Like the only one who gets it is natsou who has every right to live with his girlfriend and keep her far away from that environment and oh my Rei deserves so much better both narratively and by the fandom.
Tumblr media
Enji still sucks. Yeah I can't lie nothing this man can do can make me like him and it doesn't help that hori has written all of those retcons to humanise him and make him pitiful. I feel like when it came to the todoroki family arc enji took on a whole lot of screentime WHICH HE SHOULDNT OF!!! That should of gone to shoto and the rest of the family and an easy way to fix it is to simply have killed enji in the first war arc (as was initially planned but hori changed it later on) ALSO I SAY LET TOUYA REST AT THIS POINT!!! having him just mechanically alive and stuck is horrible honestly I think that death is much more of a merciful fate for him at this point.
Tumblr media
So lady nagant chose to go to jail?!?! Her reasoning for it is actually so sad though and it really shows how much hero society traumatised her. Like the woman didn't want to be free so she can't be used by anyone and would rather spend time in prison over it. I wish that she was hawk's mentor from the begining because the vibe those two give is absolutely amazing and it would enhance the parallels and relationship they have if they were. Honestly I hope hawks actually does a good job but Iam still all for the destruction of hero society and I doubt hawks is actually going to reform it properly also the hero society is so deeply flawed that I don't think there is a proper way to reform more like just scratch everything out and start fresh.
Tumblr media
Spinner is back. I hope I don't see him have a breakdown when he realises what happend to the league because I can't handle that. Also that begs the question I thought that spinner had become somewhat brain dead after all he's been through so how did he turn back from being a giant nomu?
Tumblr media
I can't handle the sibling angst too bad that touya and shoto didn't have a better arc. The whole shoto trying to know touya better and him revealing that soba is also his favourite food softens my heart. In another universe where enji doesn't get a redemption touya gets one while justice is served to the todoroki family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gentle criminal and la brava getting justice. (The only good part of the chapter fr)
Tumblr media
in conclusion this chapter was horrible if we look at it from a story perspective due to how badly MHAs already established plot points and themes are handled!!!
Also what happend to the random character in the last chapter!!! I hope we get closure on that soon

Johnny, Robby, and the "family" (s6 part 2)
Well, gotta say, I'm perplexed by s6 part 2. It seems like the writers are still just building out the story---or moreso, dragging it out---until the resolutions. Part 2 has left me with the curiosity of how Johnny and Robby's story will be resolved.
Since watching s1 and until watching s5, I'd wanted to see Johnny and Robby build a relationship onscreen. I know that's not going to happen now. There's just no screentime for it, if it were to happen. And, frankly, it's not something I care to see anymore because Johnny just doesn't deserve to keep Robby in his life anymore, especially since s5e1. I'm a huge believer in people (especially parents) treating other people (especially their own kids) right and showing them that they have value as a person. But, Johnny has never truly or openly shown Robby that he has value---though we're still being given hints that Johnny does love Robby. s5 escalated the abandonment and neglect to outright abuse (emotional, psychological, and physical), and I'm just not here for that and find Johnny irredeemable since s5 (whereas before I was open to his redemption).
I was also really sure that Johnny and Robby only would be endgame. In a way, this is still possible, though it would be dissatisfying regardless of how they do it now. (I'll touch on this later in the post.) After watching part 2, though, I'm really wondering if Johnny and Robby were ever meant to be an endgame at all.
Tumblr media
Johnny and Miguel's conversations on the plane (s6e8)
I think it's interesting that this episode is called "Snakes on a plane". Only two of the characters were shown on a plane: Johnny and Miguel. So maybe this is an acknowledgement that they are still Cobras. Which, let's face it, they are. Joining Migagi-Do simply doesn't erase all the things they haven't taken accountability for or the fact that these two are still their version of Cobra Kai. I've also said before that Johnny's relationship with Miguel is part of Kreese's Cobra Kai legacy.
Their two conversations are quite interesting. The first is Miguel throwing Johnny's confession to Miguel in their s2e3 conversation back in Johnny's face. This is not surprising behavior from Miguel. Moreover, this situation has a similar context to that s2e3 scene: Miguel performed well in a tournament but Johnny was distracted or not happy because of Robby.
Tumblr media
Miguel: "You were disregarding me all tournament. And you're making things worse right now. You'll probably make things worse at the hospital too. Like drinking in the parking lot when Robby was born. No wonder Robby's so messed up." Johnny: "Hey, man, that's a low blow. Don't bring Robby into this. I know you're upset you didn't get captain, but he won that fair and square. It's not my fault you choked." The flight attendant then came and asked Miguel if Johnny was bothering him (cause Johnny almost got into it with a first class "Johnny"-like passenger earlier) and if Miguel would like to change seats. Miguel said yes.
This really was a low blow. Johnny also hadn't done anything wrong to Miguel. Miguel is just controlling and entitled over Johnny's attention: how dare Johnny not pay attention to him only, despite how poorly the team was performing overall. I'm going to say it cause it is what it is. This is abusive to Johnny. Miguel brings up Johnny's failures with Robby and then insults Robby, calling him messed up because of those failures. Miguel wasn't just attacking Johnny. Miguel was also attacking Robby to attack Johnny. Using Johnny's weakness (Robby) and secrets against him and then cold shouldering him like that because Miguel's pissed at him for not running after him is a manipulation / abuse tactic. Codependent relationships are dysfunctional. Miguel can abuse Johnny as much as he wants, and Johnny will do what be can to appease Miguel, after Johnny's instinctual reactions.
This led into their next conversation:
Johnny: "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you more in Barcelona, all right. I saw you killing it out there, I didn't think you needed my support as much as Robby. He doesn't have what you have. He's not going to college next year. Sekai Taikai is the biggest thing he's got going for him. But I see how that made you feel. You're my son too. As for your mom, I'm really scared. I love her so much. I've tried my best to get myself together, be a good guy. Things like this happen, and it feels like I could lose everything all over again. The truth is, I don't know if she's gonna be okay. But, I can't think of the alternative. Alright?"
The fact that Miguel knows that Johnny abandoned Robby, has used that against Robby (school fight), and even used that against Johnny just earlier on the plane, but Miguel still wants to make sure that he is given what Robby has never gotten properly from Johnny is so entitled of Miguel and so on par for him. Miguel knows that Robby still doesn't get this from Johnny. I mean, Miguel is literally upset that he himself is not the center of Johnny's universe.
Miguel is not entitled to Johnny as a father, especially not over Robby,---no matter what!
Tumblr media
This is like on prom night. Johnny expressed wanting to be a father to Robby. Johnny was literally piss drunk, and Miguel had scraped him off the floor. Look at the state of Johnny... and Miguel broke down and held this moment against Johnny? Seriously? Miguel trusted Johnny again, only after the apartment fight because Johnny let Miguel beat up Robby. Miguel hadn't even trusted Johnny after he had come down to Mexico to rescue Miguel. Miguel told Hawk and Demetri, after they got back from Mexico, that he's not going to let Robby being with Johnny get to him. Well... here we are again. Miguel is being his typical narcissistic asshole self to both Robby and Johnny because of Miguel's insecurity and entitlement wrt Robby being Johnny's son.
Johnny and Miguel's exchanges on the plane are a pattern that show how Johnny stays trapped in this relationship with Miguel at Robby's expense.
To me, the fact that these scenes fit so well with these other Johnny and Miguel scenes is incredibly interesting. Cause to me the question is why?
Why keep including these scenes if everything is "resolved" for the Johnny-Robby-Miguel situation, as many fans claim everything is?
Tumblr media
Johnny and Miguel's conversations about their relationship status as "Father/Son" or "Student/Sensei" always revolve around Johnny's relationship with Robby, since Miguel found out that Johnny is Robby's father in s2e2/3. Even in s4e7, Miguel himself brought up Johnny's relationship with Robby when Johnny talked about not knowing how to be a father. In these conversations, including the s6e8 one, Johnny consoled Miguel, and himself, that Johnny will do better with Miguel, with it implied that Johnny will not do better with Robby.
Even now, Miguel is still stewing inside that Robby is Johnny's "real" son, and Miguel continues to take this out on both Johnny and Robby whenever Miguel feels insecure about it.
Part 2 has me still saying what I've been saying all along:
Why do the writers keep including scenes like this if this "family" is meant to last or if Johnny is already redeemed for failing Robby... while never actually giving us meaningful conversations between Johnny and Robby that explore their issues without Johnny being an emotionally immature asshole about it all?
Their conversation in s4e10 went seemingly well because Robby was blaming himself for screwing everything up and was not blaming Johnny for anything. When Johnny took blame on himself, it did mean something but it was about Robby's relationship with Daniel falling apart because of Johnny and not about their own lack of a relationship because of Johnny. And then, what happened right after that? Miguel ran off to Mexico, and Johnny psychologically and emotionally abused Robby, even abandoning him again (at a random bus stop in Mexico), in an extreme effort to get Miguel back.
Here, on the plane, Johnny did so much to try to talk to Miguel after Miguel ditched him for another seat. Yet, Johnny has never tried to talk to Robby and fix things with him in this way. Remember, in Mexico, Johnny literally dumped Robby at a random bus stop and went off after Miguel, instead of fixing things with Robby properly. This was also after Johnny had tricked, kidnapped, lied to, gaslit, and guilted Robby. In s5e8, Johnny got annoyed with Robby's fatherly advice comment and dismissed it. Back in s3, Johnny only went to the soup kitchen to talk to Robby because Bobby refused to apologize to Robby for Johnny. Johnny had no intention of going himself if Bobby had apologized for him. Johnny also never went back to try to fix things with Robby. Overall, Johnny never puts this amount of effort in to fix things with/for Robby. This has been consistent throughout the story.
This is all why I'm not mincing words in this post. Johnny and Miguel have a dysfunctional relationship in which Miguel has gaslit and guilted Johnny, that is manipulated him, before. Miguel's behavior with Johnny wrt Johnny not running after him all the time is inexcusable, regardless of the circumstance. Miguel is 17/18 now. Let's take off the kid gloves. He's becoming a grown ass man. According to many fans, Robby has to suck it up and let go of all the legitimate lifetime of trauma he has due to Johnny (which Robby actually does still need therapy for). Well, Miguel must suck it up and not feel entitled over Johnny like this because, frankly, Miguel's feelings of entitlement are his own problem. They're not Johnny's problem, nor Robby's problem. Meanwhile, making amends to Robby directly for failing him is Johnny's problem. A problem that Johnny has yet to solve and may never solve because he's too busy running after the Diazs---his "do over" family.
Like I've said before, the Diazs and the baby are plot devices meant to distract Johnny from his actual goal of making amends with Robby.
Tumblr media
Johnny to Miguel in s4e7: "I took all that bullshit I felt from them, and I put that on Robby's life. I can never fix that. I don't want to make that mistake again." Of course, Johnny's talking about never making that mistake again by doing things right with Miguel because Johnny believes he can't fix anything with/for Robby. The Diazs have always been a "do-over" family for Johnny. Their purpose is not genuine but is for Johnny to use them to feel better for his past and present failures with Robby. This is all in the writing. Hence, Johnny's words in s6e8 as well: "I've tried my best to get myself together, be a good guy. Things like this happen, and it feels like I could lose everything all over again." Just like how, when he risked his own life for no reason at all in s5e10, he was also focused on everything he himself would lose.
Johnny's "do-over" "family"
Tumblr media
Now, one thing that stuck out to me was that really important family stuff was going on, and Robby wasn't included. In fact, Robby was left behind, and he actually drank for the first time (which is... smh... another post that needs to be made). But, it really sticks out that, like the scenes in s6e5 where Johnny and Carmen feel the baby kicking and then Miguel comes in with his Stanford deferment news, Robby's not there.
The writers purposely exclude Robby from these heartfelt scenes of the family. In this episode, like in s6e5, both the baby plot device and Miguel got focus, but not Robby. Interesting... like in Carmen's dream in s5e4...
When Daniel found Johnny packing, Johnny told Daniel that he told Miguel but made no mention of Robby, and told Daniel to tell the others. Johnny seemed to have left Robby out. Later, when Robby asked Sam if she'd spoken to Miguel before he left, it made me wonder if Miguel had spoken to him either. It's possible that neither Johnny nor Miguel spoke to him before they left.
And when Carmen commented that the baby's big brother will win the world tournament, she only says "brother" singular. Yes, she's talking about Miguel, who is in the room, but this baby has two brothers competing in the tournament. Miguel is also not the brother who is the captain and would be competing in the final rounds.
Robby's existence was excluded from this situation completely.
This is one of many reasons I'm still saying that the whole blended "family" isn't meant to last. It will either be Johnny and Robby only in the end, because Johnny relationships with the Diazs are not healthy and are intentionally and explicitly built/written at Robby's expense. Or, it will be that Johnny and Robby won't have a relationship in the end and Johnny will live "happily", dysfunctionally ever after with the Diazs.
(Sidebar - It can actually be Johnny and Robby only in the end because this show has had its dark moments, and most recently Kwon died in front of everyone in a horrific way. And, the setup for something happening to the baby plot device (and maybe Carmen as well) is now there. I'm not saying I want this. I don't, for sure. I think if they go this route than they truly shouldn't have included the baby plot device at all. But given a lot of their decisions so far, they don't care about taking the moral or socially-acceptable approach to portraying serious topics---for example, intentionally framing Johnny's neglect and abuse of Robby, which benefits the Diazs, as wholesome and sympathetic is one of those things. At this point, I'd like to see no Johnny-Robby relationship in the end. Leave Johnny in his toxic relationships with the Diazs for all I care (though I do feel bad for Johnny cause he doesn't deserve to be stuck in dysfunctional relationships either) but get Robby away from these toxic people. That is how I want this story to go now.)
Anyway, leaving Robby out of these important family scenes, while also never giving him a scene with Johnny and Carmen in which they are, specifically Johnny is, focused on Robby's issues in a meaningful way is quite telling. The essay scene in s6e2 included Robby, but Robby was there (1) to point out that he was still being scapegoated for the school fight while the whole "family", including Johnny, were still going along with that, and (2) for Johnny to dismiss Robby after Robby brought up his struggles for his future. Then, a literal waterfall of shit rained down on Miguel's essay and this false "family".
Again, this all shows that Robby's place in the family is essentially non-existent. I mean, is it even surprising?
This "family" situation is meant to be another trauma that Johnny inflicts onto Robby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how the family was put together, or more specifically, how Robby was beaten into place by Johnny and Miguel, and then blinded-sided into people-pleasing because of the baby news. He's not a genuine part of this family, nor is he supposed to feel like he is, just like he's not being his genuine himself since that news.
In fact, I thought it was interesting that, in the locker room in s6e9, when Miguel said, "We're a family. All of us", Robby had a thoughtful expression and then stood and said, "Who are we?" and all the kids all said, "Miyagi-Do!"
Robby's family and home have always been Miyagi-Do.
Maybe this is one of a few reasons why he wasn't one of the "snakes on a plane".
Robby and Miguel
This "friendship" / "brotherhood" is one-sided. Keeping in mind that Miguel has never taken accountability with Robby and keeping in mind all of Miguel's other behavior towards Robby so far, nothing about Miguel's behavior in part 2 was surprising.
At first, Miguel's being a whiny bitch because he didn't get the captain spot and then Johnny was "disregarding him". He and everyone were blaming Robby and were upset with Robby for not having focus, even though he wasn't the only one doing poorly. Way to not be a supportive "friend" or "brother" but to be an unsupportive bully and asshole instead.
Then, after tearing Robby down, Miguel was only supportive of him after two things happened. That is, for two reasons: (1) Miguel got Johnny's confirmation again that Miguel will be Johnny's priority. Miguel was upset because he wasn't getting Johnny's attention the way he wanted---as his "son". So, as long as he got more attention than Robby, who actually does need Johnny's attention way more, Miguel was now happy with Johnny and hence happy with Robby. (2) Carmen made Miguel promise to win.
Miguel only became supportive of Robby after Johnny chose Miguel over Robby again. And the fact that he called Robby "messed up: shows Miguel's true feelings about Robby.
Miguel had called Robby "messed up" for no reason at all other than jealousy, just like Miguel had felt entitled to break Robby's arm for no reason at all in the school fight after Miguel attacked Robby for no reason other than jealousy.
Robby is still a punching bag for Miguel if not physically then verbally, and even when Robby's not present.
Again, this is all par for the course for Miguel. I'm not seeing anything different that hasn't always been there this whole time.
All of their history and Miguel's behavior up until s6e8 is why I doubt the intentions behind Miguel's "peptalk" with Robby in s6e9. Miguel wanted to win. He'd promised Carmen they would, so Miguel was now doing the opposite of what he had done before. Now he was supporting and telling him what he needed to hear in order for them to win.
In part 2, another rivalry was resolved in which both parties acknowledged their wrongs. In fact, Anthony even drank a laxative to make it up to Kenny and prove that he was truly sorry for what he had done in the past and for starting things, even though he hadn't been the one to put the laxative in Kenny's water.
In contrast, Miguel has never taken accountability with Robby for their rivalry that Miguel had started. Instead, even now, Miguel made sure that he is still Johnny's number one before Miguel started to support Robby again after (1) Miguel was bullying Robby for not having focus, and (2) insulting Robby as a way to attack Johnny.
The Johnny-loves-Robby hints
So, every season, there are hints, or I guess seeds, of Johnny's love for Robby.
Johnny is not codependent in his relationship with Robby, so Robby doesn't get the open "love" and "caring" that Miguel and Carmen get from Johnny.
This is really important to understand about Johnny's behavior/relationship with Robby.
Throughout part 2, we were shown the same hints of love that Johnny has for Robby, although they get no screentime together and Johnny has yet to makes amends and prove to Robby that Johnny is truly remorseful for what he has done to him. Johnny is still avoidant in this regard.
Although, to Robby, Johnny denied Robby's reality about his future, Johnny told Miguel that the tournament is all that Robby has for his future because he's not going to college. Again, Johnny's lack of actually trying to help Robby outside of training him for the tournament is glaring. He doesn't help Robby find alternatives to karate and also tells Robby a lie about his future prospects---it's a lie because Johnny himself doesn't believe that Robby has a future, not that this is actually true. Again, Robby just needs an adult to be there for him and to truly help him, which he doesn't have. For himself even, Johnny sees the tournament as his big shot. Also, in s6e6, at the sponsor's table, when the sponsor mentioned that winning dojos and champions are taken care of, Johnny asked "Like paying for college." He was very likely thinking about Miguel. Johnny doesn't believe that Robby can go to college, and in s6e2, Carmen told Johnny that he essentially needs to help pay for Miguel's college.
In the locker room in s6e7, Johnny's speech was a projection of his own failures onto the kids' possible futures. It's interesting that, as the kids walked out, Robby was the last one to leave. Johnny stepped towards Robby and said his name, but Robby said "Sorry, Dad" and left too. This was the closest we got to seeing Johnny try to have a conversation with Robby.
At least, we got a moment of Johnny defending Robby's win to Miguel, calling it fair and square.
Johnny also told Miguel to leave Robby out of their issues. At least that was Johnny's immediate reaction to Miguel's verbal attack on Robby. Later, after Miguel cold-shouldered Johnny, Johnny basically did put his relationship with Miguel above his relationship with Robby again. Also, although Johnny called Miguel "my son too", Johnny has been treating Miguel like more than his son, whereas Johnny still treats Robby like a stranger or a random student, for the most part.
Johnny is incapable of healthy relationships. He's caught between two extremes: He's codependent with the Diazs, while he neglects and abuses Robby. These relationships also aren't independent of each other. Johnny is still choosing Miguel/Diazs over Robby, as part 2 continues to show.
Regardless, Robby is and will always be an issue that Miguel has with Johnny in their relationship. Robby will always be an issue in their relationship, in general. Johnny uses Miguel to make up for his failures with Robby, and Miguel feels that he is more entitled to Johnny than Robby is.
Johnny did hug Robby after Robby's win against Kwon, which also knocked the Cobras out of the tournament (temporarily). So that was nice to see. But, it was just so quick and related to the tournament, so it wasn't a real focus, unlike Johnny's conversations with Miguel and Devon had been---Johnny's do-over kids.
During the brawl, Johnny frantically trying to get to Robby was something to note. Johnny wasn't able to get to him though.
There were also two small moments before this though that also stood out to me:
In s6e10, when Chozen said to Daniel and Johnny that Sam and Robby need their senseis and need their fathers, Johnny's expression was one of worry or self-reflection.
Tumblr media
Johnny keeps failing to be there for Robby as he needs.
In fact, Johnny's not ready for this baby plot device either. When Carmen said that she's [the baby's] so luck to have him as a dad, he had the same reaction.
Tumblr media
This was just a few hours after Miguel had called Robby "messed up" because of Johnny's behavior. Carmen and Miguel are aware of Johnny's flaws, yet never encourage him to get better.
At the baby shower in s6e3, just minutes before Carmen told Johnny that she can't wait for his daughter to meet him, Daniel commented to Johnny that he never only has one drink.
They all know Johnny's an alcoholic.
Johnny tells Miguel in s6e8, "I've tried my best to get myself together, be a good guy." This is simply not true. He doesn't want to improve a lot of his behaviors, his drinking being one of those things.
Sadly, in this episode Robby drank and got drunk for the first time, and he messed up (at least that's how he and Tory talked about it, though his conscious decisions that night beyond his decision to drink are unclear). It's so telling that Miguel literally commented about Johnny messing up things, including Robby, because of his alcoholism, and in this same episode, Robby had his first drink to cope with his problems. Robby's goal is to not become like Johnny, and this first drink is sadly a step down a path to become like Johnny. (Robby's part 2 stuff is definitely getting it's own post.)
The writers have made this Johnny-Robby-Diaz situation an "either/or" situation this whole time, and this situation is meant to cause Robby more trauma. They literally set up Johnny's decision in s1e4 as a "do over". All of Johnny and Miguel's heartfelt conversations about their own relationship are in the context of Johnny's failures with Robby, Miguel's belief in his entitlement of Johnny over Robby's, and Johnny using Miguel to feel better about his own failures with Robby. In s5, Johnny talked about the baby only in terms of Johnny's failures with Robby. Robby is treated in the writing as not a member of this "family", which given the circumstances in which he was forced into it, is telling.
I wonder what will happen between Johnny and Robby now. Like I said, I'd always believed that Johnny and Robby only would be endgame, but after part 2, I'm wondering if Johnny and Robby are meant to be endgame at all. Regardless, there is no setup that genuinely includes Robby in Johnny's "do-over" "family". Given all the setup, no ending for Johnny and Robby's relationship will be satisfying. I just hope that, by the end of the story, Robby is no longer stuck in this abusive situation.
Overall, I get people being upset about the story. I am too. But, I also see so much nuance in the story that I wonder where all this will lead. (Billy's answer to this interview question (at 4:36) is also interesting. While, Tanner's answer in this other interview (at 2:00) is interesting as well, though I don't like Tanner's lack of compassion for Robby. Maybe Tanner doesn't get that in canon Johnny hasn't changed his behavior with Robby.)
(As always, please don't comment or reblog with dismissive comments about the nuance in the story. The nuance is part of the story, and the story is exploring important topics like trauma, bullying, neglect, and dysfunctional relationships.)

He's a busy man who works hard to spoil you, but you just wish you could have even a second of his attention at times. You dressed in your finest tonight; you even had the hairdresser you hired for big networking events come and do your hair. You wore your favorite necklace that hung daintily from your neck; it twinkled and caught the light from the nearby chandelier the restaurant owner picked expertly to fit the ambiance. You wish your necklace had caught your partners attention, but instead It also caught the eye of a few other patrons that passed your table; their gaze soon drifted down to the plunging neckline of your gown. All the details of your outfit were thoughtfully handpicked by you, only to be overlooked and ignored by the man who sat in front of you. Your frown deepens at the thought.
You remained poised and ordered for the two of you when the waiter came around. You fidget with the silverware in front of you as the waiter gives you a pitying glance before he retreats back to the kitchen. He would probably gossip to his coworkers about the pretty girl's date tonight, which was probably going worse than being stood up. This always happens, and by the end of the night, you would have to swallow the lump in your throat and fight back the tears burning your eyes as you noticed the extra dessert they gave you on the house.
"So, babe, do you remember that necklace you got me from Greece?” You wait for a response and continue on when he gives you a slight hmm in return: "Well, I'm wearing it now, does it look nice?"
Sure, maybe you were fishing for compliments, but you just wanted him to look at you. Just ONCE tonight, you internally begged.
“Everything looks good on you babe,” he says without sparing you a glance.
Sweet, charismatic, charming. He was everything a girl could wish for. He was never short with you, and he really did listen sometimes but he definitely didn't give you the attention you deserved. It wasn't often that you even got to see him. He was typically away on business trips, and when he was home, he was cooped up in his office.
You huff in disappointment; you could probably tell him you got pregnant and was having another man's child, and he would reply with,“That's wonderful, sweetie.”
“Babe, who are you texting? Won't you turn it off just for tonight? It can't be that important.” You try the direct approach.
"Love, you know I can't. We’re about to close a deal that could boost company revenue by 65%. Once we close the deal, I'll get that bonus I've been waiting for, and then I can finally take you on that vacation you've been talking about.” He concludes. He switches to texting with one hand and uses the other to reach across the table and hold your hand in his.
It was hard for you to be upset. Everything he did was for you; all he ever thought about was you, but you weren't sure how much more you could take. You bring his hand up to your face affectionately before resting your cheek in his palm.
After a few moments, you release him, and he goes back to texting under the table. You were growing frustrated with his behavior. You were tired and embarrassed; you didn't even think twice about getting your own phone out and texting your personal driver to pick you up. He wouldn't notice your absence; why would he? He could pay the bill once the food comes out and bring it back home as leftovers. You decide that was hardly punishment enough for what he put you through. You get a notification that your driver is waiting, so you quietly gather your things and leave.
Silent tears fall, and you hang your head low to hide your sorrows from your driver. The Lord knows the gossip that goes on about your relationship.
Just one day—that's all you asked for—one night, and he couldn't even give you that. You didn't want the luxury, the money, or the status; you just wanted the man you met in college. Things have changed drastically since then, and you can't help but reminisce. Back before, he climbed up the ladder at his current company and before the gifts, back when he was just your tiger. That's what you used to call him anyway; his ambition was inspiring, and you were drawn to his drive and optimistic attitude. He was like a tiger who would tear down anything in his way to get to where he wanted. That passion is what made you love him, but it wasn't just the passion that he poured into his work but also the passion and affection he showed you. All of which have been missing lately, replaced with cold nights and meaningless promises. You didn't care about what he could give you; you wanted HIM! You wish he would realize that; maybe then he wouldn't work so hard.
Your thoughts were racing as you rested your head back against the cool leather of the seats. Attention. That's all you wanted, and maybe the memories of what you used to have are what made you a little bitter. Maybe that's what drove the anger in your heart—forcing out the sadness and replacing the cold loneliness with burning anger.
Attention, that's all you wanted.
Was it so hard? Just one night, just a few hours—that's all you asked. He couldn't give it to you. He would give you the moon if you asked, but to Hoshi, time wasn't money. Hoshi had no issue giving you money; time was opportunity. You scoff at yourself for how ridiculous it sounds. Maybe he just had to learn how valuable time was.
Attention, that's all you wanted.
And that's what you would get.
You're pulling into your driveway, and as you look at the grand house that sits on the driveway, you almost feel bad. He provided everything for you and you didn't want to hurt him, but when you remember all those empty rooms and how lonely the big house made you feel all those nights alone, you didn't feel so bad. He didn't seem to feel bad when he left you to travel across the globe. He didn't feel bad when he could only spare you a quick text. It seemed like even hearing his voice was hard to come by nowadays.
You thank your driver as he opens the door for you, and you make your way inside. You click off your shoes and head up to your shared bedroom. You strip down to the sexy lingerie that he didn't even get to see. Another thing to add to the list of crimes he's committed tonight. How dare you dress up so prettily for him, and he doesn't even strip you out of it?
You plop yourself in the center of your bed and get to work. The Lord knows when he'll get back. He's probably noticed your absence by now and assumes you're in the bathroom. Instead of texting or calling to find out where you went, he'd rather leave it up to assumptions to fill in the blanks.
Another crime to list.
The thought drives you to move forward with your scheming with no further qualms.
You scroll far down into your gallery until you find it. You have to be careful and pay attention as you select the video. You were currently reviewing the hidden folder in your gallery full of videos that keep you company when Hoshi can't. If he did anything right, it was lay pipe. He would fuck you within an inch of your life and hold nothing back, making up for all the time he's been away.
That was the only time you had his undivided attention. He would spend hours worshiping your body; everything was about you in these fleeting moments.
But that's not what you're here for today.
Today, you're looking for broader shoulders, thicker forearms, and messy black hair.
In your defense, you did mean to go back and delete these videos; they were old and you weren't with him anymore. There was no reason for you to cling onto any old videos of you and Seungcheol; it was just that whenever you went to delete them, other videos of you and Hoshi would distract you, and you would totally forget what you had originally even opened the folder for.
You and Seungcheol dated way back before you and Hoshi. In moments like these, you wonder what he's up to. Would he ignore you like this? Would he treat you this way? A call away, and all your questions could be answered.
No, you loved your Hoshi. He was your star. No matter what, you wouldn't give up on him. You wouldn't.
The video you selected displayed you bent over on your hands and knees with your head in the pillows as thick fingers gripped your waist, pounding into you from behind. The shaky camera work attests to the rough movements of his hips as they slam into your backside. The video continues, and his fingers trail up from your waist, smoothing over your back lovingly, before finding their home in the hair at the nape of your neck. He firmly pulls, and your head jerks back at the sudden tug. Your hair tangles in his grasp as he holds you in place, pushing you back down into the pillows. The video ends a few seconds later, after a few harsh thrusts cause you to arch your back violently and moan out, begging for more.
Perfect
The video was short and simple. Little was shown of the room, which was perfect for the situation you would use it for. His phone had all his attention. If you wanted some attention, you would just take it, give him something to stare at on that phone of his. You send a barrage of photos in your lingerie with a quick text.
You:
‘Missing something?’
You wait for a bit, and a response comes.
🐹 💞 is typing:
‘When did you go home babe? Why didn't you tell me you were leaving? We could have gone together.'
‘Im sorry, I'll be home soon. I'll get it to go’
You:
‘You wouldn't have cared whether I told you or not.’
‘Someone else is keeping me company tonight anyway.’
 Video attachment
You see that he's opened the message, and you wait for his reply. The attention that you so badly craved, you would soon receive.
🐹 💞 is typing
 …
 🐹 💞 is typing:
The typing bubble appears, then disappears again and again. You get a call immediately after. You feel a bit bad seeing how frantic he's become, but you don't care; you want to drive a stake through his heart. You want to hurt him back, so you decline the call, and not even a second passes before another one comes through.
🐹 💞 :
‘Answer the phone, y/n.'
full name? Oh. You were in trouble when he got there.
🐹 💞 :
‘You think your fucking funny? This better be a fucking joke when I get home.
You continue to ignore his calls and texts. See how he likes it. You were finally getting the attention you wanted, but why does it feel kind of shitty? You hate playing these games, and you almost send him a text back explaining yourself, but you hear the front door slam shut, and you're frozen in your spot. Reality was starting to set in. You realized you didn't plan this far ahead. Hoshi had never EVER gotten upset at you before, and you weren't sure how he would react. You hear his footsteps approach the room, and you can feel your heart beating up into your throat.
Then you see him.
His highlighted hair is a mess; it's almost as if he's been running his fingers through it repeatedly. The tie to his suit has been loosened and hangs limply from his neck. The crisp, ironed lines of his button down were wrinkled and untucked. His suit jacket must have been discarded somewhere along the way.
“I'm sorry, I went too far this time. I-"
“Shut the fuck up,” he says, cutting you off smoothly. He's undoing the cufflinks on his sleeves. He's not met your eyes once since he's entered the room, and you can feel the anger slowly start to creep up again.
Not looking. He's not looking again.
Something in you flips, and you open your mouth to spit something vile to take back your apologies. You wanted him to feel everything you've ever felt. You want him to feel like he's drowning, just the way he makes you feel.
You are about to list off every sin he's committed against you and why he's the one who should be apologetic when it all dies on the tip of your tongue.
The look he gives you could freeze over hell. He's finally raised his head and pulled his attention away from the pesky cufflinks. the way he looks at you through the messy hair that falls in his eyes. He looks like a predator lurking through the tall grass, sizing up his prey.
Like a tiger about to pounce.
You finally got what you wanted, but his gaze burns as he stares at you unwaveringly. You finally got his attention, but you would give anything for him to look anywhere else in the room, even for a minute.
But he doesn't because, for once, time was all he had in this moment.
“I'm the bad guy, right baby? That's what this is all about, right? I don't give you enough.” You hear the clink of his cufflinks as he drops them to the floor haphazardly. He prowls closer to you now. "Yeah, I'll be the bad guy.”
He's crawling towards you now. Piercing gaze pinning you in place. All you can do is clutch your phone to your chest as you tremble under his gaze. Stupid device. It was all its fault that any of this even happened.
“Nothing to say now? Gone quiet? That won't  do."He tuts
In a heartbeat, he's got you pinned to the bed, your phone wrenched from your grasp, and tossed to the side. Once he's got you where he wants you, he takes a moment to drink in your body. Your lingerie caught his attention, as intended. His temporary, stunned silence gives you a little courage to speak up for yourself.
“I just wanted you to look at me.” You cant help the sadness that seeps into your voice. You can feel your eyes begin to water, and when he meets your gaze again, he softens up a little. He tilts your chin and kisses your eyelids softly.
“I won't look away. I'm all yours, now and forever,” he reassures you. “You're all mine, no one else's, so save those tears for later love; they're not gonna get you out of this.” His grip on your chin tightens, forcing you to meet his eyes again. Any kindness is out the window again as he remembers the little video you sent him.
It was worth a shot.
He positions himself between your legs and meets your lips in a needy kiss. He needed this just as much as you did. You press your body against his firm one in an attempt to feel more of him. You whine into his mouth, and he shakes his head, already knowing what you want. He purposely left his clothes on before joining you in bed. He knows how badly you crave physical contact, and he's not done punishing you. He's not going to give you the satisfaction of feeling his warm skin against yours. You would take what he gave you.
He kisses your neck and grabs your arms, instructing you to keep them where he had them pinned above your head.
“Don't move," was all he said as he continued to kiss your body. He didn't bother taking off any of the lace that clung tightly to your skin. He wasn't in the mood to make love to you right now; you pissed him off a little too much for that tonight. He gropes you over your bra as he kisses your stomach hotly before moving lower. You try your best not to move, but you can't feel him well through the fabric. You cry out at the thought of how good he would feel pressed against your bare, sensitive skin.
“Please?” you try. He would drive you insane like this.
“Who was he?” He evades your silent question by asking his own.
Confusion strikes you first as you try to collect your thoughts. He? The only person you're thinking of right now was Hoshi, and how badly you wanted to strangle him between your thighs if he didn't touch you properly.
“The guy from the video you sent,” he clarifies.
He's kissing you over your panties now. The thin lace panties allow you to feel the heat from his tongue as it laps over your core. His arms wrap around your thighs, locking them into place as he messily licks at your clit through the fabric, making it slick with his saliva.
Your thighs seize up at the feeling, and you have to focus everything on not moving like he instructed. He strikes the side of your thigh with a harsh slap, reminding you he was waiting for your answer.
“This guy I used to date... from college,” you explain as best you can. "I haven't spoken to him in years. That video was old."
“You lied,” he states. He felt him breathe a slight sigh of relief.
“I would never cheat on you, no matter how upset you make me,” you say, a little ashamed of your temper tantrum.
You go against his command and reach down to run your hand through his hair reassuringly. He appreciates it and doesn't reprimand you for it.
He shoves his face further into your heat. Nudging your clit with his nose as he licks into the fabric. He seperates his lips from yours as he turns to lay a possessive kiss against the inside of your thigh before pulling your panties to the side and diving in again.
He made it his mission to devour you whole, to never make you second-guess his love for you again, and to make you never even dream of wanting another man between your legs. The way he rolled your clit between his lips and tongue drove you up a wall. He paws at your thighs, trying to coax you to relax. It was his silent warning. He told you once to keep still; he wouldn't repeat himself.
Your breath is heavy as your chest heaves. He gives you a small break and properly discards your panties, stripping them from your body. He takes another moment to take in your wet folds as they glisten in your slick.
“Tastes so damn good.” He moaned before lowering himself back down onto his stomach. Throwing your leg over his shoulder. He works in a finger and sets a ginger pace as he pumps his digit into your drenched hole.
Maybe he was whipped because you could practically feel every groan and grunt vibrate against your sensitive core as he ate you out. In your own bliss, you barely noticed the way he grinded his hips against the mattress. He was enjoying this as much as you were, but you could still see the flashes of anger in his eye as he held eye contact with you as he sucked harshly on your clit. Sure, he was having a blast eating you raw, but he wouldn't let himself get so pussy drunk that he forgot your punishment. One too many times, he let your sweet persuasions get you out of trouble. He swore you were a devil for the way you bargained and swindled your way out of punishments, using your sweet cunt as your main selling point. Promising this position, that location, and more.
He didn't let up, and your trembling thighs around his head are enough indication that you're close. Just as your back begins to bow, he releases you. He's quick to sit up and press a warm hand on your womb, pinning you down further into the mattress. It's warming enough.
Hold it. Don't. Cum
You can practically hear the words as they taunt you, circling around in your head like a broken record player. You try to focus on the silent command and try to will yourself to hold it. But it's all for naught. You cum pathetically around nothing, and he doesn't help you ride it out. You quake a bit at the hollow feeling. A ruined orgasm—what could be more torturous? You glare at him. You figured you deserved it after your little stunt today. It's still a bit unfair; he was the one who was an asshole first!
He can read you like a book and lay a few kisses across your stomach in silent apologies. He really didn't like punishing you. He had the biggest soft spot for you, which you would no doubt always use to your advantage.
“No more mean tiger, I want my soonyoung,” you pout.
Hoshi scans your face for any of your usual tricks, but he finds none. He figured you were punished enough. You really were sick of the games. You spent far too much time apart not to have him in the ways you've been dying for. Right now, you didn't need the man who would put everything into fucking you to make sure you still felt him when he was gone. You didn't want the rough, ravenous tiger that took over in these moments. You wanted your sweet soonyoung that would make love to you whenever you were stressed. The soonyoung that would take all of your worries away and smother you in so much love you could drown. You wanted the soonyoung that would take away the feelings of doubt. You felt on the long, lonely nights that he was away.
He understood what you needed in this moment of vulnerability, and he would be damned if he didn't give you the moon.
He kisses you passionately. Deep and slow. He takes his time as he savors the taste of your lips. You invite him into your mouth, and you welcome his bold tongue as it coaxes yours into a sensual dance. You're drunk on his lips alone, and you don't even realize he's already stripped you of your bra. You feel his hands entertain yours at your sides. He pulls your hands together, guiding them to have you wrap your arms around his neck. It was his way of telling you that it was OK to touch him now. Punishments were over. He let you off easy. Again.
As you wrap your arms around his neck, you're surprised to be met with skin-to-skin contact. He must have unbuttoned and shoved his shirt off when you were deep in the kiss. You appreciate his multitasking, and you're eager to pull him down and press your bare chest against his.
You're drenching the sheets, so Hoshi doesn't have to do much when he slips right into you. You both moan out at the feeling, and you immediately tighten around his length. This is what you were missing the first time you came, and your greedy cunt wasn't going to let that feeling escape again. Hoshi moaned pathetically and buried his head into your shoulders.
“Ease up baby, I'm not going anywhere. I've got all night." he pants
You shake your head in defiance. You needed him deep; you didn't want him to pull out for even a second; you wanted to feel all of him at once for as long as possible.
“Fuck- please baby. Be my sweet girl. Trust me, I got you,” he reassures.
You look up at him, and the sight almost makes you lose it right then. The way his brows pinch up in agonizing bliss, the heavy pants that escape his slick lips as he makes it a habit to lick and bite at them to try and calm down. You order your body to listen and relax. You take a few deep breaths and give him the reins. You ease up and lay back. He promised to make you feel good, and you trusted him.
And that he did
Deep, sensuous strokes coax long, drawn-out moans of pleasure from your lips. All you could do was bury a hand in his locks as he made love to you. You try your best to hold on as he repeatedly drives into your heat, hitting deeper each time. You were often known to run from deep strokes. The way they kissed at your cervix could be too overwhelming at times, but you had missed this feeling so badly that you laid there and took everything he had to give you like a champ.
“That's my girl,” he would whisper seductively in your ear.
You weakly attempted to meet his thrusts but gave up shortly after, he was giving you everything your body craved. There was no point in you trying to put in any work. Tonight, you would let him show you his love. Prove to you that you will always have his attention.
He leans back to meet your eyes and holds the stare. He grapples at your thighs, holding them close to his waist more for his sake than yours. He needed something to ground him. He could feel himself getting so close. You don't dare look away, as you feel your high slowly creeping up as well.
“All eyes on you baby, always," he promises.
You feel your eyes water, but you don't dare break the connection. This is all you wanted. You hated how you behaved to get to this point, but it was worth it in the end.
He bites his lips and brings down a hand to rub harsh circles into your clit. Your back arches, and you cum around his length. Your pussy basically crying in joy at being properly filled this time. It tightens down harshly against Hoshi’s length and pulls him over the edge. He fucks into you for a few more moments as he slowly comes down from his high. Thighs shaking, chests heaving, he collapses next to you.
You two would properly apologize in the morning. You're both too tired to move or even speak. You know things are going to get better for you two. You believe him, and when you turn over to find that his gaze has never left you, nothing in the world could convince you otherwise.

Heartstopper's Aspec Representation Isn't For Me - And That's Okay (Mini Essay)
Spoilers for Series 3!
So I just finished series 3 and I feel conflicted. I don't hate Heartstopper at all. I think it's a very cute show. I'm happy queer baby gen z and gen alpha have something to see themselves in, I love how Tara, a darkskin Black lesbian girl is happy in her relationship. I'm happy Isaac makes my fellow aspecs happy. I'm happy Charlie tore Ben's singlet in series 2 and for once the victim/survivor is allowed to not forgive their assaulter. I like Heartstopper's little moments but I've felt like something was missing overall and now we're on the third season, I think I know what it is now. There's comments on BL and yaoi by Alice Oseman I don't fully agree with, some of the acting in the show could be a bit better I guess, most of the characters are comfortably in the British middle class and I am a grown adult now so my interest in school/teen dramas has dipped a little bit (but not you Waterloo Road ily <3). So to an extent, there were always gonna be limits on how much I enjoy this show, but nevertheless, I still think they're worth pointing out, especially if we're claiming Heartstopper for the next gen of queer rep. Because honestly having watched shows like Heartbreak High and Koisenu Futari plus being a massive Selah and the Spades fan, I feel a bit robbed in terms of quality.
Isaac still feels underdeveloped and for a show that's been going on for 3 series now this feels disappointing. Like obviously Nick and Charlie get all the screentime as they're the main characters. Tao and Elle got a lot more juicer storylines from s2, Tara and Darcy got more to work with this series even if it was rushed (oh I miss you long series 2010s shows), but Isaac still feels leaps behind everyone else. He didn't really get anything in series 1. In series 2 we saw him coming to terms with his identity which felt like a good starting point but I was still waiting for the 'big asexual plans' Alice Oseman promised and... nothing. I liked his comment about googling aromanticism to Charlie because the representation by PowerPoint style of aspec writing can get tired. I also liked his moment of feeling left out by his friends plus still wanting to know Nick and Charlie's tea, giving him sexual agency whilst aroace instead of feeding into infantilisation. But apart from that... nothing. I wanted to feel more moved by the aquarium scene, but it felt tacked on because whilst Isaac's upset was justified, Imogen just wanted to chat about gay fish, so Isaac came across as a little passive-aggressive instead of what was supposed to be his moment. Plus it feels a little backhanded how much effort series 1 went to in how big coming to terms with your identity is, plus the gorgeous way Isaac's aroace revelation was filmed in series 2 was filmed just to have him blurt it out in an aquarium and have barely any of his friends actually support him like he supported them. But life imitates art I guess. This whole season we've seen characters talking about university plans, gap years and going through the post-16 struggle. But what about Isaac? We never find out what uni he wants to go to or even if he wants to go. What subjects does he like? What job does he want post-school? What's his relationship like with his family? The people need to know! I always found it weird how Isaac was left out to the point where straight characters, whilst still bearing in mind that Tao x Elle is an interracial pairing between two POC and one of which is a trans girl and this is very rare and deserved representation too, had gotten more screentime than him. Imogen, Sahar, Mr Ajayi and Mr Farouk had all been introduced for bigger storylines but Isaac, despite being in the main group, still had to wait for his share. This series was such a huge moment for everyone but Isaac... again. And whilst I'm happy if everyone else is, I genuinely feel like we all deserve better.
Tori was given bigger moments this series and that was great because I was waiting for my introverted slurping sister to come through. Her concern and care for Charlie and jealousy of Nick were great plus with the introduction of Michael, it was all leading to the big reveal of Tori being ace, right? Right? Wrong, because this scene was cut from the ferris wheel moment and I have no idea why. Oseman confirmed it was because Tori's storyline will continue in s4 and she didn't want to rush it but like, what? Series 3, at least in my eyes, did an alright job at building up her coming out. And again, if Nick could get his bi awakening in a one series arc, why can't this asexual character then too? They also covered Darcy's non-binary transition and coming out in this series too so I don't know why there wasn't room for Tori apparently. There was plenty of room for an 'I'm asexual' within those 5 minutes. Waiting to develop her in series 4, which is yet to be confirmed and likely to be the show's last series so it will already have a lot to do with wrapping up the Nick x Charlie saga seems like a poor decision. This is the second time we've had to wait till next season for the aspec character's arc by the way.
Tumblr media
I'd like to see some aroallo POVs on this but this season put a lot of emphasis on linking love and sex together and it felt a bit strange icl. Yes, they're linked socially/societally and it's great to have sex with someone you love and love someone you have sex with etc etc etc but the first 2 series made a point of separating the two by showing love without sex and how it was just as meaningful. Almost every time a character was sexually attracted to another e.g. calling them hot or started making out because they wanted to have sex in that given moment there would be a dialogue from one of them going 'it's okay we're in love 'it's normal you're in love' 'well that's what people in love do!' and these are all correct statements but like... we get it! You don't have to be head over heels in love to find someone sexually attractive or just want to have sex with them. It's okay if you're not in love too y'know? I'm not sure what that constant reassurance was for because depicting sex without love isn't as pearl clutchy as it seems when all parties are safe, consenting and comfortable, or, if you've ever had any knowledge about aro(allo) spaces tbf. Nick and Charlie are not aspec and are very much sexually attracted to each other so the conclusion of them having sex isn't surprising at all, especially when I already knew from tweets back in series 1 that Heartstopper the comic already had a storyline later on of the two having sex for the first time. Plus the other characters aren't aspec either so their sexual debuts are also unsurprising and deserved. Plus, I'm actually glad they included Tara and Darcy having sex because many 'sex positive' shows seem to leave out the lesbians. But for a show with an aroace creator and aspec characters, the depictions of romance and sex don't feel like they were written from an aspec lense or for an aspec audience. It's normal for people to be romantically and sexually attracted to each other and then date and have sex. But if you're aspec, you know this. We all know this. This is the mainstream and default depiction of human (hetero)sexuality. We're watching the queer shows to see something different from that. When romance without sex can only hinge on the characters being below the age of consent plus a supposed 'innocence' due to their young age and sex without love is non existent, plus when you factor in how there are no aroallo or alloace characters in the show with 'groundbreaking' aspec representation, it makes for a bit of a headscratcher. Heartstopper may be made by an aspec, has aspec characters and aspec fans, I don't consider it an aspec show. Bit sad, but it is what it is.
Tumblr media
It's honestly strange how despite this fact, asexuality and aromanticism is barely mentioned in the main discourse about this show. Antis claim Oseman is a cishet woman despite being non-binary and aroace. They blame the sexlessness of the show on puritanism despite Oseman being aroace. There's constant arguments about how 'unrealistic' it is for teenagers to not have sex despite Isaac being a whole teenage aroace and how some people just didn't have sex in their teens... like aspecs. People are annoyed the show keeps giving Isaac aromantic and asexual storylines because it's 'not as important' and they 'don't care' as if he's not a main cast member and again, the creator is aroace! If you look at the promo pictures of the show, it has the main three pairings, Nick and Charlie, Tao and Elle and Tara and Darcy and no Isaac. Despite the fact it's supposed to be 'for' us and made by one of us, it's not. And a lot of non aspec queer fans watching the show don't see it for us despite being made by one of us either. And that's a real shame.
I'm fully aware Oseman knows about writing aroace characters from the book Loveless, which has an aroace MC. But I think Netflix choosing to adapt Heartstopper over Loveless was intentional. I think Netflix creating Isaac instead of Aled, a demi gay non-binary character from the og comic, was intentional. I think all the decisions Netlix made with Isaac and Tori are intentional, the same way bringing Yasmin Benoit to the Sex Education writers room to cut half of O's storylines was intentional. Netflix has fumbled the bag with asexual and aromantic representation several times now (Cash Piggot and Todd notwithstanding) so at this point, I'm not surprised anymore. Again, I'm happy for anyone who really likes Heartstopper, but I've finally accepted that it's not for me. And that's okay. When someone makes the predominantly aspec, slightly more grown, queer show with fully fleshed out arcs for its's asexual and/or aromantic characters or hits up Lovie Simone for the scrapped Selah and the Spades TV show, I know where I'll be.
We deserved our moments too. We deserve our Heartstopper.

What fic tropes do you most want to see for bucktommy?
big fan of hurt/comfort and some angst, which i think we will get.
i want them to be settled in their relationship and be solid and be each other's home, and then comes the angst, but not in a way that threatens their relationship, more like: one of them gets hurt on the job for physical hurt/comfort - i would love to see tommy get hurt actually, and buck stays at his place to take care of him; proof that this capable brickhouse of a guy is not invincible. and he struggles to let himself be taken care of, and evan helps him realise that he has people who care about him - not just buck; maybe eddie visits! chim! hen! he's been on his own for so long he's quite self sufficient but buck isn't having it; this allows for some first fight potential, where tommy insists he can do it himself (bc he doesn't want to be a burden or seem weak) and buck being frustrated and a little hurt that tommy doesn't want him in his space or want his help, which makes buck feel like he's being too much and caring too much.. but they work it out! but maybe before they do we get chim/hen/eddie paying tommy a visit to check on him but moreover spend time with him and also talk things out a bit; tommy realising it's okay to let people in (chim would be perfect for this callback).
and tommy dealing with his asshole father for some emotional hurt/comfort - i just really want to see a less coolcalmcollected tommy, and i think buck seeing that and being there for him and tommy realising he has someone to lean on will strengthen their relationship.
and early season 8 with gerrard in charge is perfect for some emotional support and understanding: tommy being there for buck as he vents. and tommy confronting gerrard (not just about his treatment of evan and the 118 but about who he is and how he does not deserve to be a captain at all) which doesn't go well and brings up a lot of issues for tommy (his past self, his father and upbringing, etc) and results in him being riled and losing some of that cool calm composure buck is so used to - maybe we get buck finding tommy at the gym, or tommy and eddie doing muay thai because tommy needs the release. and eventually we get buck calming him down or tommy running out of steam and breaking down a little.
(this is all very tommy-centric i know, i just want more of him! more screentime! more emotional variation! more character and relationship growth!)
and as much as i want them to be a solid couple, i want there to be moments of uncertainty: jealous buck when he sees tommy is friendly with one of his exes or sees a guy flirting with tommy. tommy being so sure about a future with evan -has never been more sure of anyone in his life- but holding himself back because he doesn't want to move too fast for both their sakes - but he opens up by the end of the ep and it culminates in him asking evan to move in with him.
open and honest communication is integral to their relationship so i don't really want to see any secret keeping, but i could see one of them keeping a secret about the gerrard/ortiz drama to spare the other one worry or to keep them out of the crosshairs. but it won't be a lingering issue, preferably sorted in an ep or two.
also just: gimme friendship for tommy! gimme tommy and chim and hen and eddie hanging out (separately or together) because we know they're friends. gimme tommy and karen, tommy and maddie brunch dates - with jee! gimme tommy babysitting jee and the others! would also love to see some of tommy's coworkers and friends. basically let tommy have some platonic relationships because it's important to show he has a place in the 118 extended family even when evan isn't in the mix, and that he has a life outside the 118 too.
since tommy is a first responder i think it's a safe bet we'll see him working with the 118 at some point - lafd is linked from the streets to the skies - maybe buck doing a rope rescue out of the chopper or tommy rescuing buck and some civilians from a cliffside or highrise. maybe the 118 responding to a chopper crash. so many scenarios they could give us, and i want tommy working with the rest of the 118, too.

hey why do people get so mean about having a more interesting, occasionally fucked up, mistake making Colin Bridgerton written in fanfiction? What happened to liking complex characters? Just curious what your take was since imo you have some of my favorite diverse takes on colin that ground him in reality
Awww, thank you <3 I appreciate a lot that you like my takes on Colin
I have a lot of thoughts on this so I apologize for the super long response, but tbh, I think it goes back to the writing of the show itself. Since Colin wasn't given many opportunities to be fleshed out as a character on the show, people don't necessarily want him to be a full, complex, well rounded character in their fics, either. Unfortunately, Colin is framed largely as an accessory to Penelope in the grand majority of stories and to most fans: Pen is the main character, and thus Colin is the sexy lamp or the trophy or the prize for her narrative. Most people won't admit to that, but even from jump when he was courting Marina, his story wasn't about him. It was about her. She's living the love story, and he's the love interest. JUST the love interest. Not one with depth or a strong circle of community or even screentime. But an attractive One Day for our Heroine. Most people don't WANT him to be complex or a full character in light of that, because they never took him off the initial pedestal of it all. If he's not perfect, then he's not worthwhile. If he's not perfect, he should be punished.
And one only needs to look at how fans reacted to his 'I would never court Penelope Featherington' line in S2 and how everyone reacted. It was like he physically slapped her round the face and kicked her in the river by the way people responded instead of being a young man navigating patriarchal society and trying to fit in with men he's been told he should be like. But no one cared for the Why of Colin. People only cared about how it affected Penelope. Not how it contributed to his character arc, or how it showed us a glimpse into Colin the pretender, Colin the Chameleon, Colin the People Pleaser. Colin's actual motives and characterization has no bearing to most fans. Immediately afterward it was 'He doesn't deserve her' and I definitely saw how fast everyone was to ship Penelope with everyone and anyone else, including the most cardboard cutout NPC ever, Lord Penguin whose only character traits were being dry and vegetarian. Penelope and other cardboard cutout OCs. Penelope and OOC versions of Colin's own brothers. Anyone but him. Because how dare he be a character outside of his ascribed role of Love Interest?
Everything about Colin that's good is down to Luke Newton's acting and understanding, not from the writing. And I love him because I like to dig for that understanding, but the grand majority of people want it spoon fed to them. Unfortunately, that's hard to do with limited time. From the very beginning, Colin was truncated on the show. And the writers' lack of respect for him as a character in his own right didn't stop even when it was his own season, and he got the least amount of screentime of any lead in any season. Colin didn't really get to build relationships outside of Penelope. Though there were plenty of opportunities to highlight companionship he might have had with others- Phillip, Will, his own family, the show wasn't interested in showing us such things. Instead, Colin is a loner whose only real connection is Penelope. His emotional journeys are cut short, unseen, alluded to. And to make matters worse, fans scoffed him off because they 'couldn't even thirst over him', as he's the only member of the ABC club who didn't have a sex scene in S1. Or even a kiss. (well. . .I still thirsted, but that's because that face card never declined in his LIFE, Lukey boi, congrats on your genetics).
From the MOMENT we're introduced to him on that dance floor, through her eyes, in the warm light as he was dancing with a group, we were meant to see him as the perfect, pure prize for our darling Pen. So, he's not allowed to be much else to most fans.
It's weird to say that Anthony fucks and that's why people are less harsh on him for how he treated Kate and Edwina (that and the fact that he was also a production fave so he got a ton of screentime), but because Colin was set up to be this chaste, more wholesome character, fans are extra harsh whenever he has any slight with Penelope but like. . .that's partly what I think it is.
So when he does anything that is in any way an opposition or even not entirely in fawning of her, people get furious. Bridgerton fandom is. . .weird. Maybe it's the genre and what comes with it, maybe I'm used to seeing romance from other angles in which there's a long time to build to it and the personhood and characterization comes first, and the romance builds on top of it, but with the romance being the primary and largely only goal, and him not getting to really have many relationships outside of that romance, as soon as he shows any signs of being a character existing away from it, he's demonized.
And this even extends to Luke, I think. People have done the same to him: they want him to exist as a romantic option for Nicola, and so when he does anything, like just living his life in a way that doesn't subscribe to that fantasy, he's hated on.
I think people don't want to face the fact that Nicola got to play two characters, and Luke barely got the chance to play one. That he had to build Colin from the bones up largely on his lonesome. It isn't that one is a better actor than the other- it's the material. Colin and Penelope are both good character, but Penelope got development in the scripts and narratives, and Colin was largely ignored. Nicola and Luke are both good actors, but Nicola got screentime and Luke didn't. He got snubbed. And people are seeing it more and more because it was obvious. Same for Colin and Penelope. It's really, REALLY obvious who writer favorites are. They're the characters who have the most time on screen. The ones with a variety of stories. The ones with lots of relationships outside of their romance. And Penelope is undoubtedly a production favorite. Thus she gets the most narrative. Thus she has the most fans. And Colin, being her love interest, does not need to have character development or complexity for those fans to ship them. I mean. . .Colin isn't even allowed to have a friend who isn't Pen. To most fans, he exists FOR her. Not for himself. So they get mean when a writer doesn't see it that way. Many, MANY writers write him largely as whatever they want Pen to have, and many many fans prefer it that way. Colin isn't really Colin, to them. He's not a real character in their minds. He's an ideal. And ideals do not fuck up. Or, when they do, they are egregiously punished for it. Shoutout the rise of puritanism, I guess?
If the show itself won't take Colin seriously as a character in his own right, I'm not surprised the audience and fans don't, either.
I just wish it was different, is all.

Weird Wednesday Headcanon (NaruHina Edition): The moment they get together, they become competitive.
Once again, this is crazy, but, I dunno. I kinda dig this direction to take with them, once they get together. It adds more flavor and depth to their romance. And it showcases, that Hinata is no longer in need of saving, or having everything hinge on Naruto alone. And though she may dislike fighting, period, her relationship with Naruto may cause her to see a little bit of fun in challenging herself to become better. Come on, guys, she is very devoted to Naruto, she would definitely like this. He rubbed off on her already, why stop there?
Plus, I feel like, after Shippuden, she may actively try to keep Naruto on his toes, knowing he wants to become Hokage, and after the war, she began sharing his vision too, of bringing definitive peace, not just to her own clan, but to prove herself worthy, not just as a leader, but as Naruto's wife, too. A strong Hokage, needs a strong wife, after all. Or the other way around.
I know, I know, Hinata is not a fan of conflict, I got the memo, but I frankly don't want her to be stuck as the pure "nice girl" trope, she deserves to be more than just Naruto's better half, I want more depth for her, layers. And no, making her a moody housewife does not account for "character growth", it just comes off as cheap (especially given that all her screentime in Boruto is just relegated to her being the housewife, nothing else), and is only played for laughs. I like my ship dynamics to be more evenly distributed in the overarching power dynamic.
I mean, my idea isn't coming out of nowhere. Remember, Hinata holds the highest record in finishing ramen bowls. That is sure to make Naruto's ego itch, even a little. And considering how calm, and collected she is, while he is purely impulsive and impatient, even as an adult, if they train together, she is sure to exploit all his openings. She knows his quirks better than anyone else.
Tumblr media
Also, I dunno, I just find it way sexier, when the shy girl taps more into her wilder side, not just in battle, but... in bed, too. Even if, Hinata enjoys herself the soft kind of love-making, when you consider her character in Road to Ninja, who is to say, this is not mildly representing the side she wants to show in the real world, but is too shy to do so openly, and just saves it for the man she loves?
Tumblr media
...actually, now that I say all this, in a way, Hinata and Sasuke are very alike in these respective aspects. Think about it:
They are very devoted to those they love and hold dear
They are ready to lay down their lives, when it counts
If you piss them off, you must have a death wish
When it gets intimate, they are submitting completely and drop their guard
Both are rebellious spirits by nature
If anything, Naruto NEEDS Hinata's motivation to become a better person. She brings the best out of him, not by forcing him, the way Sakura does, just letting him discover it, for himself. And if he forgets, she makes sure he doesn't, because she is happy to remind him: Loser pays for the next batch of ramen. And if Naruto is short on money, you actually believe, he would just turn that challenge down? 'Course not.
And their competitiveness can range from the reasonable, like, "Who can do the most sit-ups or push-ups during training?", to the ridiculously dorky, like, "Whoever finishes brushing their teeth, first, won't have to drink orange juice afterwards", or "Whoever finishes eating first, doesn't have to do the dishes". Or even better, "Anyone who cusses in this room, has to put a coin inside the piggybank, every time". Because Hinata is a good girl, and wants Naruto to behave himself. This playful character to their relationship is very beneficial for Naruto, he learns, without needing physical pain to do so. And kisses and hugs are his reward too, if he does a good job.
And to truly motivate him, she might even challenge him by going all: I am going to study as well, to apply for the position of Hokage. Whoever gets their first.
Add all this, and Hinata doesn't just become a way more fleshed out love interest, but a fleshed out standalone character, too. She is not dependant on Naruto, he is dependant on her. Especially her emotional support, and if I were to rewrite The Last, I would make her defeat Toneri, on her own terms, no Naruto needed (wink). Contrary to what the series usually devolves the females to.
Merry Christmas.
PEACE.

Did what they did with Jade and Pey'j in Captain Laserhawk bother you, too?
Tumblr media
SPOILERS AND RAGE BELOW
I AM SO ANGRY YOU HAVE NO IDEA
Beyond Good and Evil fans got SHAFTED BAD. THEY GOT DONE SO BAD AND IM LIVID.
All these muppets going ‘lol the Rayman fandom must be so upset about Laserhawk’ and NO.
NO WE ARE THRIVING WE ARE SO CRAZED AND STARVED AND WE ARE ON CLOUD NINE THAT OUR BOY GOT ALL THIS SCREENTIME
In the first trailer for Laserhawk Rayman was an EASTER EGG. We didn’t even know if he’d have a role with speaking lines until the second trailer. AND WE WERE OK WITH THAT! If baby bean was just a background element to expand the world we would have been happy for the crumbs. But no! Our boy got a full speaking role with a CHARACTER ARC IN A SIX EPISODE SHOW. He got BACKSTORY and RELEVANCE TO THE PLOT. And he DIDN’T GET KILLED OFF.
All that for a character we were expecting to get NOTHING from.
But JADE?!
PEY’J???
Tumblr media
They were front and centre from the first trailer. They were established as being as central as Dolph and Bullfrog and WHAT DID IT GET THEM.
Jade gets taken out in ep 2 of 6, and Pey’j goes down the next episode.
At LEAST Pey’j went down being exactly what I expected him to be. A kind protector trying to make the world better. Trying to stop conflict. Trying not to take his pain and suffering from the loss of a girl he loved deeply out on an unfair world. He died a noble if pointless death and from Bullfrog’s expression alone we can see how much it hurt.
JADE GOT NOTHING. Jade died when we barely knew her. We needed more of her. We wanted to see her shine, see more of this wonderful awkward tomboy with a gentle heart. We needed to see how she interacted with others. She DESERVED BETTER. SHE DIDN'T EVEN GET ANY FINAL WORDS.
AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE ‘I HAVE FEELINGS FOR YOU’ SCENE OR I WILL SNAP AND PUNCH SOMETHING. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
In a show where I watched my favourite childhood character swearing, wielding guns and doing sushi and blow off a hookers back THIS JADE AND PEY’J SCENE IS WHAT MADE ME CRINGE.
Tumblr media
I am willing to forgive so much from this show. So much of it was a wonderful, ridiculous, beautifully animated rollercoaster.
But implying any kind of romantic sentiment between these two characters only to kill one of them off in the same episode was so damn weird. It was wrong on so many levels. There was NOTHING WRONG with their older mentor/young ward relationship. It could have been great. I don’t understand why they did this. It didn’t add pressure or gravitas to the situation, we KNOW Pey’j would do anything for Jade, HE DOESN’T HAVE TO HAVE A CRUSH ON HER FOR THAT TO BE REAL.
Tumblr media
And seeing Jade and Pey’j in Dolph’s VR dream sequence just felt so hollow. We needed at least an episode to establish any kind of team energy from these four, but we didn’t so seeing Jade give Dolph a pep talk about relaxing more came off as flakey and not good enough for a character who deserved better. They didn’t even establish what Jade and Pey’j were supposed to bring to the team. Pey’j is just ‘the tech guy’ in the same episode he dies. Jade has to play a femme fatale against her type but we don’t even get to see her being her best. To quote Rayman ‘IT’S NOT FAIR’.
Oh boy.
I feel a little better getting that anger out. I’m just sad. I’m sad we lost them. They deserved better.

The Problem with Claire Bear (and how to fix it in S4 without making Clairmy endgame)
This critic is focusing on the writing and is not meant to be an attack against the actress in any way! Also this is my personal opinion.
Tumblr media
I must confess, that i am relatively new to the fandom, but 'the Bear' has a chokehold on me for a couple of weeks now. The way it has so many different characters and tries to explore their personalities, their shortcomings, their problems and anxiety, hooked me from the start and i loved to see how they developed over the three Seasons, we have now. But then there's Claire. And she just doesn't work at all.
The number thing and Claire accepting anything
When she first appeared in the supermarket and had that talk with Carmen Berzatto, i couldn't shake off the feeling that this whole scene was very awkward and almost non-human. Of course, we know that Carmen can be socially awkward and seeing his old childhood friend, which he ghosted, is a weird situation for a lot of people. Given his own difficulties to deal with situations like that, it makes sense why he gave her a fake number. I know, she asked multiple times if it is okay, but the whole number thing is a clear sign that he is either avoiding contact, because he doesn't feel ready enough to deal with a past relationship or that, deep down, he doesn't actually want it and uses it as an excuse so that he doesn't have to say it out loud.
Seriously, if i would've been Claire, that would be a RED FLAG for me and i'd stop trying to force any contact. But the script wanted a romance, so it literally made Claire an all forgiving person. She just takes Carmen's bullshit and never truly questions it or tries to make him question those things. She always reassures him, that he's doing good and all, which is supportive and cute, but it doesn't help Carmy's broken personality in any way. It never questions, it never tackles his character to move past this. And in the end, it doesn't help Claire too because this relationship feels very one-sided. She's always there for him, tries to keep the contact, supports him, confesses her love first (even though if it was via voicemail), but Carmy isn't able to give it back to Claire in any form.
Claire got no personality
This is very obvious, but it needs to be said. The script gave Claire nothing to create an interesting or engaging personality. After i finished Season 3 i did a small recap in my head and all i could say about her is: She was Carmy's girlfriend and she is working as a doctor. That's all. And it made me bonkers somehow, because 'The Bear' has so many well-written female characters - Sydney, Tina, Natalie, Donna, Chef Terry. Even Jessica and Tiff, without having much screentime, had more developed character traits that made them stand out. But the script is not able to give Claire something that would make her more than just Carmy's forced relationship!? We rarely see, why she even has this crush on him - maybe due to their childhood friendship, any special moments they'd shared in the past before they met again at the supermarket? No, nothing and i think this is sad. Because with all that, Claire becomes a character, that can be easily written out of the script, without leaving a hole in the story.
Carmen would still have his New York David Fields trauma, mixed with the death of his brother Michael, he would still pressure himself. The rest could be easily explained through the dynamic he has with Sydney and the team - the fear of letting them down, of being not good enough, of not deserving happiness at all etc.
An environment of forcing it
Now it gets a little bit personal. When i was younger, i had a best friend, whom i really liked - but just as a friend. At one point however he started to have feelings for me and asked, if we shouldn't just try and see where it gets, which i didn't want out of fear that it might ruin our friendship. A lot of friends we both known at that time, told me multiple times that we would be such a great match, that he really cares for me and we would be cute together. It gaslighted me into the believe that, well... maybe i should just try. Also because i didn't want to disappoint my best friend. In the end, it was a mess and it ruined our friendship. But why am i telling this story? Because Carmy's and Claire's relationship kind of reminds me of that.
The people around Carmy are constantly talking about Claire, about her being a saint and that she is good for him, that they totally match and that he has a crush on her (e.g. in the conversation with Richie and Michael during the Christmas episode). Yet it never really feels like Carmen loves her deeply enough to make a long-term relationship work. He cares for her and likes her, that much is clear, but i feels forced, whenever they share moments together - not from Claire's side, but from Carmy's side. As if he always has to reassure himself, that he indeed loves Claire. And my theory about his flashbacks of their time together, is that it is more because of his own guilt. He never wanted to hurt Claire and he understands that what he said was deeply painful to her. Confessing that to himself is hard and an apology is needed. But i don't think it would be good if they straight up reset their whole relationship.
What can S4 do to save this mess?
The apology is a big thing that is in fact needed. To jump over his own shadow and to find piece for himself and for Claire, Carmen needs to apologize to her. By talking about what happen and recognizing how bad he'd treated her during the walk-in freezer incident, he also gives her the chance to close that case for herself, so that she doesn't think it was her own fault and therefore she can move on with her life. But it would also make sense that Carmen reflects if he really loves her as deep as he thought he would. In my opinion, the script didn't give us enough to undermine the argument that he does. So looking at that, it would be great to see how he confesses to her, how he'd always thought they were meant to be, but in the end his feelings were not enough for that to happen, that he got carried away by the expectations of those around him and his own anxiety. And maybe we learn, that Claire experienced something similar to that, realizing that they could've been great friends but weren't meant to be more.
Even though i don't like the character of Claire, given the fact that she is in the series now, it would only be fair to close her character arc with an apology and a wholesome conclusion for both her and Carmy before they part ways.

Hihi! Can you do Ivan x reader nsfw hcs? Tysm! Also I hope your day is going well!
hi anon! Yes I most certainly can! I hope your day is going well too!
I love this little lobotomized mousey so much oh my lord, he deserved so much more screentime and character development I wish he got it 💔
CW: nsfw, slight OOC, slight vouyerisum, choking, rough sex, a variety of kinks, gn reader (No Pronouns except you), discussion of pervious surgeries had, lobotmies, freaky ivan, ivan himself is a ce but we love him, dub-con(?) (He is lobotomized so can't really process the consent part?), slightly toxic relationships, English is not my first language and my knowledge of words related to alot of the kinks I think ivan has are limited 😭, if I need to add any or if I got a word wrong please let me know!
°~•~○~°~•~○_NSFW BELOW THE CUT_○~•~°~○~•~°
Tumblr media
He's a freak
Many kinks, down to try just about anything aswell
He usually bottoms but if you ask he has no trouble topping
He would be a service top though, he wants to please you more than himself but also himself more than you of that makes sense
Has no problem giving up control and giving you the lead in sex
Especially after his lobotomy, he almost needs to give up control, but there's still parts of him trying to grip onto it at the same time
Will probably cry but if you stop to make sure he's okay he'll yell at you not to do that
You both have a safeword but he never uses it, even when he needs to
If you've been together for a long time you've pretty much learned when it's to much
Very vocal, little squeals and moans when you do it
Especially if you pull his hair, he's very into that but you almost never do because of his stitches and scar tissue, if you ever do your very gentle (even though he tells you to do it hard)
Wouldnt mind being smacked around in bed, especially if hes helping you deal with a stressful day
He dosent mind being used at all, he's happy that he can help you
His favorite position is doggy style, that way if he asks, you'll pull his hair or smack his ass
He good with other postiitions too though, I feel like he'd never say but he loves the ones where he's facing you, like missionary and mating press and things like thoose
Just because he finds you so gorgeous and wants to be able to see you
Also because you can choke him and kiss him that way
of he wants something he'll take it, he's very stubborn when he wants to be
That being said if he realizes your stressed outside of work or even in the office, he'll offer to help you
Itll start off innocent but soon he'll most likely be in between your legs
"What do you mean not here? I'll make it fast jist relax, your so stressed"
Hell do that in your work, (especially if you have a private office), probably in the street (alleyways)
If he's desperate enough he'll even "forget" to close the curtains so that everyone can see how much you love him!
likes to be overpowered alot, keep your clothes on while he has none? He's drooling
He always asks you to finish on him or in him (of you can), he finds it as like a mark
Speaking of that, he loves hickeys and bites you give him, if they fade to fast he'll be really upset and make you make more
In the term of after care, he almost insists on doing it all, but you manage to make him lay down
Hell INSIST he dosent need it and that he's fine, but if you do end up doing it his brain wont process correctly
Its been so long since someone has taken care of him, he'll almost cry if your gentle
His mind dosent really work, he'll probably get a headache as his mind races to think about another time when someone took care of him, but, the lobotomy just messes him up.

You know? It's kinda of funny how LOV fans treat the whole "I want to be a hero for villains" of Shigaraki as something groundbreaking, when the same concept was already introduced in the series (and was done better) with Nine.
Tumblr media
Unlike Shigaraki, Nine literally meet his team members when he saved their lives. In Chimera's case it was when a bunch of racists were about to execute him just for being a mutant.
Nine also was a hero for them in a more thematic level, as he not only save their lives but actually give his team mates a reason for live and fight. He offered them the chance to fight for create a better world. For me it's quite remarkable how Nine despite being a homeless and chronically ill person, go for save people he view as equally oppressed by the world.
He was selfless enough to sacrifice his own health using his quirk to save Chimera despite it was destroying his body, and without expecting nothing in exchange for share a dream Nine a hand to people at their lowest point.
That's much more of an "All Might for the villains" or whatever Horikoshi tried to make Shigaraki in the final moments. Or hell Nine even acts better as a foil to Deku in the sense both are selfless individuals who fight despite their bodies are crumbling, just for the save of the persons who are important to them.
How ironic is that Nine, the original movie villain that was supposed to be just a prototype for the "final villain" of MHA, ended executing the same themes way better than Shigaraki.
Hi @nyc3 👋
A main reason as to why people treat shigaraki's I want to be a hero for the villains ideology better than nine's is simply because I assume a lot of people forgot the plot of the 2nd movie or haven't read the one shot manga chapter mha leauge of villains undercover. All of this is a shame because I heavily agree that nine's version of I want to be a hero and hope for the villains is executed and built up 10000x times better than shigarakis and nine had a fraction of the screentime that shigaraki got which is saying a lot.
Actually rewatching the film and rereading the manga one-shot has showed me that nine and shigarakis arcs are pretty similar with nine's having a better execution and shigaraki having more wasted potential.
The movie sets it clear that nine and shigaraki are supposed to be foils for one another so it makes sense that they would share parallels. However, you would expect that by the time nine is defeated that shigaraki would naraatively prove to us that he is ultimately the better character but in truth he doesn't and nine's downfall by shigaraki ends up being quite disappointing to me.
Another problem within the narrative is also the lack of interactions that nine and shigaraki have. I think that nine is essential to helping shigaraki and start to infulence him to realise that he is just a puppet and should develop a goal outside of just destruction. If shigarakis goal stays as destruction then the destruction of what? Everything? And how would that benefit anyone including him?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nine like you said meets his teammates and saves them. He sees his teammates suffer like him and chooses to help them and they choose to help him. There is a clear relationship being developed and all the characters come together for the same goal, with similar backgrounds and varying styles yet they work.
When nines team see him in distress they run to help him and vice versa. The team has trust and overall everything that a lot of the leauges dynamics and development lacks.
Nine seeks destruction but his path is clear. He seeks to liberate and let nature flow its course with the strong overtaking the weak and finally being leaders instead of feared and abused because they don't fit into the small little box that is the mha's status quo. Nine plans to get stronger while being fully conscious and knowing the consequences. He makes a logical and heroic decision where we see him realise that he is trading his own autonomy and agency in becoming a lab rat all in exchange for power and a slim chance at achieving his goal.
This is all contrasted with shigaraki and his actions. We don't see his goal of destruction develop into a much more consistent and precise idea like destroying the giver and status quo. We don't see shigaraki fully conscious to come to the conclusion that yes the doctor is evil but he needs power. We lack everything from shigaraki and the information of chapter 419 just makes his character worse as shigaraki was a lab rat through and through.
Horikoshi tries to make shigaraki the better character but nine outclassed him in every way possible from the traumatic beginnings, to the developed flawed goal and to the final bitter end where we see nine crumble due to various factors 1)shigarakis decay and 2) his illness whereas shigaraki dies due to afo still being a lab rat that fulfills his purpose.

All of this reminds me of the ask that said mha's manga ending is a sloppy edited 2nd movie ending (except I was only looking at it from a hero perspective but it even applies to the villains)
Nine deserved better!

Do you think sometimes Dogday tends to be woobified a bit too much in the fandom?
Okay so before I start working on my first devlog/a proper intro for NIGHTMARE FACTORY I feel like I NEED to talk about this, because like. Sometimes... Yes.
Everything that we know about DogDay is divided into two small categories: His Bigger Bodies version, who has one minute and a half of screentime, and his cartoon version, who has two minutes of screentime max. So in total everything we know about him is about four minutes total, which isn't a lot, but could be a bit worse.
BBI DogDay seems to be two things: 1 - Very Tired, and 2 - Giving up. Cartoon DogDay seems to be a charismatic leader who's also silly and sometimes a bit too much. With what we see of him during the game, it's understandable to assume that BBI DogDay was originally that cheerful cartoon DogDay before shit hit the fan, and it's also understandable how many people took him and went "okay, but what if we give some hope to this tired dude?", and assumed he would go back to being his delightful old self. Not because it's realistic, but because we as a fandom love that little guy and want to see him happy, which can often lead to making him just the cute guy who went through a lot of things but is now determined to make everything right again, forgetting that said guy could also be angry.
I'll be honest and say that I also woobfied him a bit before thinking more about him, but although I sometimes think it's too unrealistic how certain works portray him as just sunshine, rainbows and being a sad baby, I'm not annoyed by then, because honestly who doesn't want to see him happy? But also, it's a bit sad how little we have of portrayals of an angry and bitter DogDay. Is he our baby? Yes! Does he deserve to be angry and mad about things? Also yes! But we see so little of him during the game, and what we see is either him being cheerful or absolutely devastated. Combine that with him being a dog, and we have the right formula for accidental woobfication.
I think that with enough time we'll see more angry DogDay, and even angry DogDay who can also coexist and rekindle his relationship with a reformed/changed CatNap. Until then he shall remain as the Assigned Sunshine and Rainbows Baby as we all take him to fandom therapy. Tbh I'm more annoyed at how some people villanize CatNap and turn DogDay into a "pure" baby, ignoring the implied complexities of both characters in order to reduce them into very silly fandom archetypes, than at how some people just woobify the sun dog. But that's just me!

For the character asks, Lance Hunter
Thanks for the ask! 💙
First impression: Loved him. I think I found him a little bit annoying, but in a good way, of course.
Impression now: I somehow love him even more. I still can't believe the writers just wrote him and Bobbi out because they were such great characters. He deserved to stay even just for comedic relief, because God knows the team needed a laugh sometimes, and so did we.
Favorite moment: When he shows up in prison to "talk to his client" in season 5. That was so iconic because not only was it a great entrance, but also such a relief to see a familiar face in that situation, especially if said familiar face has a hilarious dynamic with Fitz. That was obviously written for the fans, so I have no complaints. Honourable mentions to when he punches the guy from the ATCU without so much as a second thought, when he rants about Bobbi in 2.04 pretending he's not in love with her, and when he goes undercover as an obnoxious IT guy.
Idea for a story: This is not my idea, but I need to know what happened when he and Bobbi almost got married again between seasons 3 and 5. What do you mean "the ninjas showed up"? This had so much potential, but I think the fact that he never explained makes it funnier. Is it a weird metaphor for something? Did some ninjas actually attack them right before the wedding? Are the ninjas some friends who didn't think they should get married? We'll never know.
Unpopular opinion: I've seen somewhere that Most Wanted was a bad idea from the start, and I'm here to tell you that's wrong. I think it's a tragedy that it got cancelled, because can you imagine the potential? A spinoff of the best show on Earth? Our favourite problematic spy couple on the run breaking the law and causing problems? How is that a bad idea. Even if the script was bad and the plot was bad and everything was bad, it's still extra screentime for two awesome characters. If nothing else, we all know he would have had hilarious one liners, and I would have loved to watch it.
Favorite relationship: Huntingbird. Yes, I know he and Bobbi had a LOT of issues, but that just makes it funnier. Their bickering was on point, and the way he so was so obviously down bad for her the minute the words "demonic hell beast" left his mouth is so pathetic and hilarious. On a more serious note, the way they worked together as agents was great. While they may not have always trusted each other, they always had faith in the other's capabilities to do a good job in the field and stay alive ("Don't die our there"). They worried, sure, but they didn't try to keep the other out of danger Fitzsimmons style because they knew they could handle things, and for the most dysfunctional relationship of the show, that was pretty healthy. As for platonic relationship, Fitz. All they had in common was the fact that they were sassy Brits with serious relationship issues, and that was somehow enough to form a great dynamic. I loved all their little moments in 2.04, especially when Fitz talked about his crush on Jemma in the weirdest, most uncomfortable, and out of context way, and Hunter just went along with it and comforted him.
Favorite headcanon: At some point watching season 6 I decided it was stupid that they hadn't returned to SHIELD, so in my head they did. It just didn't make sense that they still had to live a life on the run when SHIELD was a legitimate organisation again, especially when the new director was their best friend who could have pulled some strings to have them there. It would have been so cool to see them again, not to mention it would have been very helpful for the team. And can you imagine Hunter's reaction at seeing Sarge? If anyone could have added some levity to the situation, I know it's him.
Writing this made me remember how much I love and miss him. Please send me more!

I was reading some of your old young justice fics on AO3 (all amazing as always omggg I want to eat your writing) and was wondering if you still ship Kon with Kaldur?
Tumblr media
Yes, and I will NEVER get over the fact that a) the fandom was not even an IOTA as interested in Kaldur/Conner as it would've been if Kaldur had been Garth or Roy or literally any gd white dude, and b) that the SHOW did not commit to making Kaldur and Conner codependent ride-or-die besties unto the fucking apocalypse, given how their relationship first started. Kaldur should ABSOLUTELY have been more important to Conner than he was treated as being and vice fucking versa, as far as I'm concerned. Of course Conner would imprint on his first-met independent person! Of course Kaldur would feel responsible for his newborn new friend!! Of course they'd both get weird about each other!!!! OF COURSE THEY'D BOTH HAVE DADDY ISSUES!!!!!!!!
The het ships that no one even cared about were more popular in fandom than Kaldur/Conner ever was from what I saw, despite the fact that Kaldur is the first person Conner both actually sees AND physically touches--via being mind-controlled into PUNCHING HIM ACROSS A CREEPY BASEMENT LAB, and isn't that fucked UP?!--and also the one who specifically got through to him of the initial trio who met him in Cadmus, AND is a very chill and patient and serious-minded, calming presence who will actually fucking meet you where you're at, and also DESERVES someone who is a real ride-or-die full-loyalty-nonstop type to get angry on his behalf. Those two's personalities would be SO much more interesting together than "teehee bubbly alien LARPs being human to avoid her problems and drags Conner along for the ride even when he fucking SAYS he hates it!!", ffs.
( like, I like M'gann, but LORD did they handle her and Conner's . . . EVERYTHING so, so poorly, and it only ever got WORSE, from what I've heard. )
And really Kaldur just deserved so much more screentime and emotional development and like, ANY attention from fandom, imho. I wanted to write way more for them than I did, but the total lack of other fans of the ship around just sucked out all the fun and inspo.
