#he also has high pain tolerance which is both a good and bad thing depending on how you look at it

OC Deep Dive Questions
Thank you @adorablebanite for the tag! I think you've tagged nearly everyone in the Gortash fandom so I won't double inflict it on people 🤣
We'll shock absolutely everyone and do Kassara
What common/uncommon fear do they have?
I think I've said before that her greatest fear is being alone - Daddy's plan for her to be the last one left at the end of the world is a fucking nightmare for her. That's his fault by making her a twin though, she's never been alone ever in her life even before Gorty Boy came on the scene
Uncommon fear, hmm... I don't know what constitutes uncommon for Toril and for a Bhaalspawn... there's a vain little piece of her that's terrified that Gortash won't find her attractive one day, that he'll wise up to her being a weirdly unnatural sentient blob of goo made from gore and not, you know, a person and he'll tell her she's disgusting... she got the Bhaalspawn breeding urges wrong and she's terrified of being a bad mother, do either of those count?
Do they have any pet peeves?
She hates cryptic bullshit. Withers is SO lucky Carmela and the rest of the extended party were around to moderate her temper. That's what you get after a decade or more of Sarevok and Sceleritas just mysteriously telling her she'll know what to do in order to resurrect Bhaal without giving her any fucking help in the matter at all. Be frank with her, or shut up
What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?
Soap - old habits die hard but she's always got some sort of rubbing alcohol or hand soap or something to get the worst off her hands. Lube - listen. She's in her late 30s at the time of the game. It's good to have a little help. Moisturiser - again, she's in her late 30s, her skin isn't as bouncy as it was 15 years ago, and that was before she underwent multiple autopsies and flensings at the hands of Kressa.
What do they notice first in a person?
Their pulse
On a scale from 1-10, how high is their pain tolerance?
Oh it's so high. Baby girl was born to relish in pain, her own and other peoples, but now she's older and spent six months on an autopsy table and now she has what the kids call chronic pain and so she's a little slower on the uptake than she used to be. Still a titan though, no matter what Ao says.
Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure?
It depends on the situation? If it's an active danger situation, she's fight all the way. If it's an emotional confrontation, you know she's going to burst into angry tears and run away
Do they come from a big family/are they a family person?
TWINSIES. Sarevok wasn't entirely sure that the ritual that created her in the Throne of Blood was foolproof, so he made a backup, and she got herself a twin brother. She and Heron were inseparable up until they got to the Bhaalist temple in their teens, at which point Sarevok instructed Orin and Sceleritas to immediately separate them and try to drive a wedge between them.
(Spoilers for KTMTB but she does want a big family, desperately. And she gets one, in the end)
What animal represents them best?
I vaguely recall answering this on another meme at some point and saying she was a white tiger, but I also think polar bear. Both big, chunky animals, plenty of fat on them, but you wouldn't question for a moment that they're wildly muscular and incredibly dangerous. Also, not uncommon to see a wild pale white woman covered in blood in the Lower City like a polar bear covered in seal blood running across the tundra
What is a smell they dislike?
Mint. She hates mint
Have they broken any bones?
Defira the Author has a Thing about broken bones (not quite a trigger, but bluh) so I tend to avoid writing them in my fics because they make me. Dizzy and such. But I am fairly certain that Bane broke one of her wing bones in Banehold when she turned up to fight him for Gortash's soul (she's got Ansur's soul, she's a draconic valkyrie at that point)
How would a stranger likely describe them?
Incredibly attractive but wildly unsettling. A smile that's bordering on unhinged at times. A stillness that makes you want to break into a sprint. You can tell you're in the presence of a predator.
Are they a night owl, or morning bird?
That's a good question, I never thought about it before, but I'm going to say Night Owl by necessity
What’s a flavour they hate and a flavour they love?
She hates mint. She loves vanilla and cherry blossom
Do they have any hobbies?
She really enjoys learning, and she'd probably be a career student if she could. She particularly loves the sciences and even some of her more dense volumes on astrophysics made the mathematician in Gortash bewildered
Boom, surprise birthday party! How do they react to surprise?
She'd be delighted! To some extent. Bhaalspawn are naturally inclined to avoid too much attention but she was always a diva. She loves having people fawn over her
Do they like to wear jewellery?
Her wedding ring almost never comes off post canon, and lbr she was wearing it constantly in the last few years before the game too (before it was technically a wedding ring). She's a glam bitch and she always did love to dress up so you know she's got entire cabinets full of stolen jewellery from her victims, she mixes and matches for her next gala appearance
Do they have neat or messy handwriting?
Immaculate handwriting, perfect calligraphy. She can replicate and imitate almost any handwriting she comes across though, she's a natural forger and mimic (well, we SAY natural, but it was drilled into her by repetition)
What are the two emotions they feel the most?
Pre-game canon: The urge versus a frustrated sense of yearning for a kind of normalcy that she could never have because that's not what she was made for
Game canon: A bubbling, seething, angry frustration because her body and her impulses scare her! They frustrate her!! What the fuck is her body doing!! As well as a yawning sense of horror and dread as the void in her head where her memories should be begins to look less like a void and more like a gaping chasm with something horrific at the bottom
Post-game canon: That lingering sense of dread and doubt that she has herself under control, far and away outweighed by her blissful delight at the happy ending she found
Do they have a favourite fabric?
I don't think she does actually... I think she likes Gortash's jacket, the texture of it and the smell of it... the way worn-in leather feels when it's been worn for years, and the layers and layers of body odour and sweat (my girl likes his musk, what can I say)
What kind of accent do they have?
I don't actually know what her real voice sounds like - there's so many layers to how she presents herself, the lives she's had to live from her first family to the orphanage to the second family to living on the streets to the Bhaalist temple... she's just a natural mimic, switching herself up to match the environment she's in.
She has a naturally very soft, higher pitched voice. Very girlish. It's another one of those things that makes people underestimate her. After waking up on the nautiloid she has a few months where she's quite husky because she's spent six months having her vocal chords either a) not used or b) being carefully flayed by Kressa to see how fast they regenerate with her titan blood so she sounds a bit more vampish after that. Still very soft spoken though

Assorted FFVI headcanons because these blorbos live in my head rent free: Edgar edition
- He became king at 17 and had to keep up an alliance with the people who killed his father alone for ten years, this man absolutely has anxiety
- Is used to suppressing said anxiety because he has to be dependable
- Definitely had a breakdown at some point in front of his friends and felt mortified; his friends don't judge him for it
- Workaholic- buries himself in his duties so he doesn't have to think about his feelings
- Tinkering as a means of comforting himself
- Actually quite the artist, especially sketching plans for machines, totally has a little notebook somewhere with rough sketches of various things and people he's encountered, Relm finds it at some point
- Doesn't hate kids but really also has no idea what to do with them if he's asked to watch them, will agree anyway (especially if it's for Terra)
- Always forgets to drink enough water
- Used to both hot and cold weather since he lives in a desert
- Outfit covers his whole body to protect from the sun but is very breathable so he's not overheating
- More of a survivalist than you'd expect him to be, especially knows a lot about the desert
- Can MacGyver the most seemingly unrelated useless objects into something useful
- The constant skirt chasing and flirting is intentionally exaggerated and he is not actually Like That to the level it seems
- Very bisexual, definitely has/had a thing with Locke or Setzer or both and also has a thing for Terra (good thing he's got two hands!)
- 100% would be down for polygamy
- Blonde hair is weird for a desert dwelling people with darker skin (related: I just cannot picture the figabros as white, they would burn so bad in the desert) but it's a Figaro royal family thing and of course Edgar is proud of it and vehemently refuses to cut it at all, impracticality be damned
- Uses some kind of special conditioner so even though the desert is hot and dry, his hair is very soft and shiny
- Figaro's native dishes can be notoriously spicy so the twins have a high spice tolerance
- Edgar absolutely deliberately chooses the spiciest dishes his country has to offer when entertaining fellow politicians he does not like, and his guests can't really complain because spices are one of those things that mean status and whatnot, so refusing a spicy meal is like slapping Edgar in the face, so he's just sitting there having a nice time and the other guy is internally on fire (yes he did do this to Gestahl and Kefka, the latter of which barely had a reaction to the pain and deeply unsettled him)
- Zero patience for nobility who look down on common folks
- Visits South Figaro incognito to check on his people, some of them have figured out it's him but they keep quiet about it
- Had the death penalty abolished in Figaro very early on in his reign
- Was personally responsible for the invention of air conditioning
- Gets adorably excited when talking about machines, will completely forget that not everyone understands technical jargon
- Very sentimental, has a collection of mementos from his travels, definitely still has the Gerad getup
- Will never admit it out loud but at least one of his friends has figured out that he can be calmed by stroking his hair, like a cat (it was probably Locke, they've known each other the longest, he definitely tells the rest of them because it's adorable and silly, yes Sabin was already aware of this)
- If he had a choice he'd be living in a little workshop building and repairing things for people instead of running a country
- A little bit vain but not obnoxious about it, mostly because he's supposed to keep up a certain image as the king
- Actually enjoyed being Gerad and not having to be proper all the time
- Is not stuck in Figaro all alone after the game because I refuse to believe they'd all just go back to doing their own things, instead his friends show up to pull him away from working himself to death and help take some of the burden off of his shoulders
EDIT: Can't believe I forgot my own headcanon I've already posted about but: migraines
Can you tell I think a lot about Figaro and the twins, because I think A Lot about them, I think the desert kingdom is very neat and desperately want to see it rendered in modern CG (I can't help imagining it would be like the desert region in ff16 every time the plot sends me there; please square I beg of you)
#i know there are more bullet points here than there were for setzer#i got carried away#i tried to keep it contained in my first post and then the brain rot just took over in the second one lmao#anyway i will yell about how much i love the twins and figaro any day of the week and at anyone#edgar roni figaro#final fantasy vi#ff6#final fantasy 6#ffvi#my post#i want more fics about pre-game edgar and i think i will have to write them myself#so be it

4 and 19 for the ask game? for all ur steps, if you're up for it? Or pick whichever :)
evening! thank you for the ask :]!
4. When scared, does your OC fight, flee, freeze or fawn?
Caine- flight. eyes closed, he doesnt want to see whats going down, and hightailing it as fast as possible. thats what happened during checkpoint three in retri, and wouldve been his choice during heartbreak if they werent ! that said, after the bad dream (the one before we meet chen in the boneyard), he Did stay stock still, since he got the freeze instinct trained into him. (actually i just remembered they punched mitchel (from @hyper-pixels, hi) after they woke up from a bad void dream???? so maybe they just have a weird amalgamation of instincts that crop up depending on the situation).
Cyrus- its a toss-up between fight and flight for him– hes 100% a coward and not afraid to cut his losses when he thinks he needs to, but at the same time, hes a stubborn bastard and has a Lot of anger to spare. generally speaking, his first instinct is fight. its only after he takes the time to assess a situation when he decides what hes going to do though– if he thinks he has a fighting chance, hes going for it. interestingly, hes less willing to fight things now that hes a villain than he was as a hero.
Cecilia- fight. honestly, theres no debate. anybody who has the audacity to scare her is going to face one (1) Incredibly pissed off ceci and probably more than a few fresh bruises. she hates feeling scared–it makes her feel powerless, and thats something she swore shed never experience again. fighting her fears makes her feel like theres something she can do about it, even if its superficial.
Cynthia- its either freeze or fawn, and the farm taught her both <3 she cant bring herself to fight or run because both actions were punished. she found out quickly enough that just taking it gave her a lighter sentence overall, and she continued to use that. fun(?) fact, 'just taking it' pretty much carried her into becoming a fighter step, because her pain tolerance is high as hell now. she still takes the armor upgrade though, just in case.
19. How does your OC behave when enraged?
Caine- hah. ok. well, in most cases, he wont hurt you. most of the time, hed settle for a clenched jaw and a glare. also not above leaving the room, no matter how important the person theyre talking to is. id say they get quiet when theyre angry, but theyre quiet most of the time so itd be hard to differentiate between normal quiet and 'fantasizing-about-watching-the-light-leave-from-their-eyes' quiet. if they have a reason to hurt them though? if hes in his armor, or its otherwise possible to inflict sufficient damage to them? at least One bone is breaking. if the person is regina specifically, shes not leaving the interaction with her life.
Cyrus- tear the bitch apart. psychologically???? physically???? emotionally????? why not all three of them! it would really depend on the situation, but by now cyrus knows how to rein in his anger just enough to figure out what would hurt somebody the most. this could range from kicking their ass to giving them a breakdown by systematically targeting their fears/insecurities. hes a cunt, but hes Smart about it.
Cecilia- Lots of yelling. probably more than a few punches too. her anger is explosive and raw, and its very easy for her to get caught up in it. that said, it doesnt last long either– once the initial anger burns out, shes willing to forget about it. if you piss her off, its a matter of how good you are at weathering the brute anger, which, granted, can be hard to do considering ceci like to hit things. she likes to hit things hard.
Cynthia- that depends when in the timeline she gets angry, because those have very different answers. pre-retri ending, she Refused to show her anger. you could not force her to. echo may end up being slightly more erratic if she got into an argument or something like that, but that was it. but the minute ortega accused her of being a regene copy? that switched up Quick. if she was going to be seen as a monster and a fake, fine, shell play the part. nowadays, getting her pissed means you have a target on your back, and not only is she patient in ruining your life, her high caution means its very difficult for her emotions to blind her. she acts cold, nearly apathetic, but rest assured shes finding out exactly what makes you tick.
questions from here!

first of all VERY good meme. second of all: bound, guilt, pain, wound for dai, minah and eniko! (i was gonna say hunt for minah but i know damn well i'm not getting an answer for that one smh)
thanks! :D // not-so-nice oc asks
bound: Has your OC ever been imprisoned or captured? What happened? How did they get out? Did the experience leave any scars?
DAI — ok so I believe technically daichi has been in prisons before, but I'm not sure he's actively been imprisoned. he’s definitely been in captive situations—asmeda counts, imo, and then there's the abyss. in both instances, his escape very much depended on the party working together to exit the premises and he absolutely wouldn't have managed without them. while the stay in the abyss itself didn't leave any (physical) scars, he's dealing with the fallout in other (psychological) ways. MINAH — yep! she's been in a cell or two in her time. it's one of those things that comes with the whole petty thievery lifestyle. she's also gotten herself out of them—she's nothing if not resourceful (and self-sufficient—she didn't always have the orchestra around to help her out). most of the scarring she's experienced from those brief periods of imprisonment has been of the emotional and psychological sort, but she also has a scar on her forehead from particularly rough treatment getting her into one of the aforementioned cells. she doesn’t like the reminder. she wears her bangs long. ENIKO — okay so. hm. I don't think eniko has actually been arrested—he's way too good at his job (read: slippery) to get caught by local law enforcement. however. that said. honestly his entire time with sir was a kind of captivity, and it fucked him up royally. even his eventual escape scarred him. the worst part was that he didn't even need locks or bindings—eniko stepped into the cage and stayed there, like a good dog.
guilt: What is your OC guilty about? How do they handle their guilt? Do they try to avoid guilt, or do they accept it?
DAI — mostly he's guilty about failing people. he's also a little guilty about exploding himself in front of everyone and a little more guilty about not feeling a greater degree of guilt for the exploding himself part (it's the in front of everyone he feels the worst about). he's talked about it a little, I guess, but some of his silence on the topic is a way that guilt manifests—he doesn't want to shine a light on it when he's afraid it might hurt people more. that said, he's pretty good at accepting the guilt and moving through it. MINAH — feels guilty for loads of stuff. she handles it badly. she tries to avoid it as much as she can, except for when she stares straight at it and holds it in her hands and lets it hurt, which she does sometimes to make sure she won't forget. ENIKO — guilt is one of the things eniko refuses to feel. it's not useful and it doesn't change anything and so he just. won't have anything to do with it (he's actually pretty good at keeping to this! the thing he's guiltiest about is killing sir, of course, but there's. a lot of other stuff packed into that and he refuses to unpack it.)
pain: What's the worst pain your OC has ever felt? Do they have a high pain tolerance?
DAI — being stabbed definitely sucks. being set on fire is also bad? I'm tempted to say the abyss was the worst though, more for the persistence than where his hurt sat on a 1-10 scale. he has a high pain tolerance MINAH — I'm not really sure. she doesn't get into altercations a lot so she hasn't really had that much of a chance to get hurt (and even when she does, she's hard to hit and quick to shrugs stuff off). overall, she has a sort of middling pain tolerance. she can manage discomfort for quite a while, but when it shifts into actual pain she caves quickly. ENIKO — ha. um. man idk. he wouldn't be able to pick out a single instance. his life is full of pain (or training, or lessons... call it what you will). consequently he has a crazy high pain tolerance and can push through just about anything.
wound: How does your OC handle being wounded? Are their wounds mostly physical? Mental? Emotional? What's the worst wound your OC has ever experienced?
DAI — he patches himself up and moves on. perks of being a healer: at any given time he's got like, half a dozen different ways to heal someone on hand. his wounds are also mostly physical—despite evidence to the contrary, he's well-adjusted and -centered mentally and emotionally. the worst wound he's experienced and lived through would probably be getting run through with a sword. the worst wound he's experienced and died from (he got better) would be getting crushed beneath falling rocks in an underwater cave (exploding doesn't count; that's not a wound that's an un-being). MINAH — she can be a bit of a baby about it, but mostly in a playful/joking way—just enough levity to keep it light and distracting. definitely if she were actually hurt she'd go to cian or patch herself up during a rest. truth be told, most of her wounds are in the sort of emotional-psychological realm, and obviously she won't open up about those without some major external force. the worst was probably her dad's death? it definitely left the biggest impression ENIKO — he grits his teeth and keeps moving. he won't let a hurt slow him down if he can help it at all, and he's very good at working through a wound. most of his biggest wounds are definitely psychological. killing sir really tore him apart in ways he hadn't even known to anticipate—it's probably the bloodiest thing in his past, and that's saying a lot.
#me writing these prompts: these are so great and whump-y they're gonna be so good for angst!#me answering these prompts and contemplating the angst: ah#also dw tabby's got you covered on the hunt side#memery#minah#eniko#daichi

And hoot again :D
Yeah, you’re very right (both with so quickly depending on it being overwhelming and with it showing how much I needed it)
The trip to therapy went quite well! The bus wasn‘t overly full on both ways, so I could sit down which was really good. I‘m still nervous for the first time that I’ll sit down on the floor if all seats are taken (it would be safer and better for me, but before I was always too scared to do that. Now that I have a cane that makes it sort of visible that I have trouble walking/standing, I want to try to do it).
I have suspected that I have hypermobile joints for a while (the problem is that I’m not in enough pain to really struggle so much that it would really be worth seeing a doctor for, but I’ll mention it when I got my next appointment). Part of the problem is my bad memory, because due to that I honestly can‘t even remember if I’m in pain (I know stuff constantly and quickly starts hurting but that’s probably normal in most cases and I also have a really high pain tolerance).
My body can do things it‘s apparently not supposed to do though
But I feel it with the cane, cause my wrist always sort of wobbles cause it’s really not stable. So I tried applying tape today, but only went to the very near grocery store that takes like a minute to walk to. So I don’t really know how much it has helped yet regarding walking with the cane. I do feel more comfortable though, and I think it‘s also helping me with writing and drawing
(On the video I watched the guy explained what the hypermobile thing in that hand he was showing it on is exactly, what it would look like if it wasn‘t hypermobile and what the tape is gonna do. And my thumb has the exact position that is a result of the joint being hypermobile (so like my suspicion doesn’t seem to be too wrong)
Since noon I had a really really bad headache that felt like my skull was split open and my brain crushed. So really not nice. I took 1,5 ibuprofen and later one paracetamol but nothing helped.
Then I tested myself cause I remembered that the only time I had such a bad headache was when I had COVID and boom! Positive
So yeah. I‘ll stay in bed tomorrow (and my head hurts so fucking much. I hate it)
I‘ll send you pics when the order gets here if you want! :D
But two pairs of Doc Martens sounds very nice!
A really sweet and funny story:
A friend of mine asked me to explain Ghost (as in, explain everything).
Three days ago I sent a video of like a few clips of Jutty, one of which being this clip in which he is like “unfollowing is bullying“ and “wHaT iF i WaS cOsMo 🧐🤨“
And since then, we‘ve constantly been sending “wHaT iF i WaS cOsMo 🧐🤨” back and forth (then we started to send the clip as a only one time viewable video so it wouldn’t be visible beforehand).
Today, I cut off the beginning of an edit and put that clip behind that to hide it and sent it to them. They have also hidden it in a poll on WhatsApp already
It turned into a game and we can‘t stop laughing about it because it‘s so fucking silly xD (it‘s practically like Rick-rolling)
wHaT iF i WaS cOsMo 🧐🤨
(You just got wHaT iF i WaS cOsMo 🧐🤨-ed. You‘re welcome xD)
~ @owlishanon
I'm glad it's still going well! It's good that it gives you so much peace of mind and that you feel confident doing what you need to do now without worrying that something awful is going to happen. But I'm so sorry that you have COVID! It's rotten. I hope you get lots of rest and your headache doesn't last too long. Sleep and drink lots of water! You can definitely send me pictures of the stuff you get when it comes in! I always love to see people's hauls! I am very excited about my docs. I paid $140 for both pairs, which is like half of one what one of them costs brand new. I feel VERY lucky about it. One pair is rusty orange suede, they're short boots. Great for every day. The other are standard black knee highs which have been my dream boots since, like, forever (I've owed many, many pairs of knee high lace-up boots, but none of them were Docs). The wHaT iF i WaS cOsMo 🧐🤨 thing has me giggling. Thank you for that. What a great joke to have with your friends, seriously. Fucking Jutty. He kills me in the best ways.

Sorry, but I don't think there's any such a thing as a safe food for all animals. They have all their own evolutionary history specialising in digesting different kinds of food, and this specialisation also means that what's good for one kind of animal that's adapted to it will be very bad for another kind. Also that one indiviual animal might have a specific allergy, you never know.
In this humans are perhaps a bit of outliers because we have evolved to tolerate a wide variety of diets, from almost completely vegetarian to almost completely meat based. Most animals are more specialised.
Also if we humans eat something wrong we can tell someone we have a stomach ache or whatever and we can be rushed to the emergency room in the worst case. Many animals do their absolute best to hide when they're sick so they don't fall easy prey to predators so even someone who knows them might not notice until it's too late.
And that's before getting into the question of how much. Many animals kept by humans are overfed and struggling with health because of that. And they just have a much more sedentary existence than they would have had if they were wild. And if they're kept in a public place the risk is that even if the owners do their best to keep the animal in a healthy condition there may be many other people who feed them just a bit, and it will add up.
Taking horses and rabbits, which I know best, both species have evolved to eat grass that's pretty low in nuitrition. Not like your very green lawn grass but steppe grass and such. That grass is often lower in both sugar and proteins. So feeding them even green grass from outside their paddock can be too much.
Many horses develop a painful and life-threathening condition called laminitis (my horse was among them). It's reminicent of a kind of horse type II diabetes. It will make them very sensitive to high nuitrition feeds. And what's high nuitrition in this case is everything that's not grass that's so low in nuitrients it's basically straw. So feeding them the wrong thing can kill them rather quickly, or contribute to it over time.
Rabbits have also evolved to eat grass (and the right dried grass, hay also works). Their stomachs are very sensitive, they depend on the help of right kind of bacteria in their gut to digest the food. Feed them the wrong thing and they wrong bacteria might grow, they may get pain and stop eating and just die in a few days when their digestive system shuts down.
And it's also a matter of the gut bacteria having to adapt slowly to now shut down, so that any change of diet has to be very gradual, and so you have to know what the animal normally eats to know what's safe.
I had to rush my rabbit to the emergency vet after he had had just a little bit too much spring grass.
Now peas, being legumes, generally have a much higher protein content than grass and many other greens.
Here's a typical nutritional value from wikipedia:
It's not something horses and rabbits have evolved to digest. To us it seems low nutrition but for a grass eater it's closer to a Mars bar… Sometimes legumes are given in small carefully measured servings to balance a hay that's shown on nutritional analysis to be defecient in protein.
Then if you feed animals in a group there's also the issue that it can excite fighting for the food and general stress, so that should also be considered.
I once (stupidly) fed my own horse and her friend some straws of nice green grass through the fence of their pasture. My horse got competitive and grumpy and kicked at the other horse (who she was great friends with at other times). The friend horse run through the fence to avoid getting kicked by my horse, so then we had two loose horses and a fence to mend. Luckily they weren't close to a road or and the friend horse didn't hurt herself when she ran through the fence, but yeah, the psychology of hand feeding in animal groups is intricate.
So I think the safest way to feed an animal is to
1. ask the owner if it's ok to feed it at all
2. ask what to feed it and how much. The simplest thing could be for the owner to give you some of its normal feed for you to give to it.
If it's animals in a public park you could contact the park management or ask a park worker. I've seen info boards and special feed provided to feed the animals at special times in some parks to keep feeding at a level that's sustainable so they're not overfed, which I suspect might be an issue for eg carps.
If it's feral/wild animals I guess maybe a nature conservation society might know? I'd definitely check for each species of animal though.
With horses I would perhaps ask the owner if I could help feed the hay, and then sit and just watch them eat. They look so harmonious when they have a large pile of hay they can just eat slowly without any hurry. It's such a lovely experience, low stress for everyone involved, hearing their powerful jaws grind the hay.
I also love meeting horses when I walk past paddocks, what I often do is wait at the fence to see if a horse approaches. And if it does I'll first let them sniff my hand and then check if they want to get scratched on the neck. Scratching eacho ther is also how horses socialise, while they all eat individually by themselves so to speak, so scratching to me feels even more meaningful way of meeting them.
So I'd be very careful and never feed a specific individual without checking first.
The line between life and death even among tame pet animals is often so very thin. <3
I really really like feeding animals. Ducks, horses, birds, cats, dogs, sheep, squirrels, rabbits. You name it. There’s just something very satisfying about seeing an animal eat. But there are so many things you have to be cautious of. Don’t feed bread to this or that animal. This vegetable make this animal painfully gassy and might even kill them.
But I think I’ve found the one food I can feed any animal! Peas!
They aren’t perfect. Apparently they’re very fattening to horses specially? But so far every animal has enjoyed them, even cats despite not getting any real nutrition from them but they’re just meant as a friendly treat.
So if you know of an animal that should absolutely not be fed peas for their own health and safety let me know before I kill a carp at the park with a pea or something.

MiqoMarch'24, Day #14: - dark -
Even as the vaunted Warrior of Light (and Darkness), D'nyr is not a perfect infallible individual-- the reliable outward persona the wider populace knows is just like the surface of a lake. They might see the ripples of his personal trauma on the otherwise still surface from time to time, but rarely do they get to see below the waters to know the root cause of his struggles…
Flaws: ◎ Is often a doormat to other’s whims and demands, compromises way too often for others’ sake at the expense of his own . Too trusting of others at times, assumes the best of people until proven otherwise . Borderline obsessively unwilling to injure innocents, accidental or otherwise-- will do whatever he can to prevent this (even if it puts him in lethal harm doing so), and shuts off emotionally if these kinds of casualties are incurred by his hand . Cold and unrelenting fury when properly angered (a very hard thing to accomplish but when it happens, oh boy) . Bottles things up entirely too much (it takes a lot of pressure to cause him to unload on others)-– thinks too much and never says enough, and is prone to the occasional bout of regret-filled melancholy over it . Repressing wayyyyy too many things, for a variety of reasons (his feelings towards others (loneliness, anger/the need to lash out sometimes, not always saying how he feels, his dislike of others putting him on a pedestal, etc.), towards the world at large (eg. the fragility of life, futility of some things, etc.) and towards his unfulfilled hopes and wants (to live unfettered by responsibility to the world, to settle down with a family of his own someday, etc.)) Struggles With: . Communicating and social interaction in general . Committing to and prioritising too many tasks at once (he’ll try to give them all his best effort and end up running himself into the ground or running out of time) . Struggles to form strong, lasting connections with others-- he finds it hard to make a genuine connection when he’s always on the move as an adventurer, taking him far away from anyone he gets close to… should someone be persistent enough to keep in touch in spite of that, he would let them in… but as he's (metaphorically) cursed to wander and never settle, that's a tall order that may never come! Fears & Insecurities: . Powerlessness/loss of control . Hurting or causing harm to anybody dear to him (no matter whether emotionally, physically, etc.) . Loss of those he’s grown fond of (via death, abandonment, temporary separation, etc.) . Rejection (social or otherwise) . Failure . Speaking to new people . Fame . Loud noises Phobias: ◎ Fanged clams ◎ Suffocation ◎ Sustaining grievous injuries to his hands (beyond just breaking bones)
(the formatting is driving me bonkers; every possible way I have tried to make it stay consistently subscript it just goes and turns another few letters normal again elsewhere, so apologies for the weird text sizing! it's been 15mins and I am at my wit's end lol)
#verrrrrrry loosely interpreting today's prompt-- I had stuff I wanted to fit here and in the upcoming Danger post so spreading it out a bit#good to have some bleaker stuff in here because Boy Howdy do I have that lying around for him!#cut out some little trivia about medical ailments/afflictions because it wasn't tonally fitting so today on Did You Know:#D'nyr gets seasonal insomnia during spring (bees? pollen? who knows) and also gets nasty migraines after echo usage#he also has high pain tolerance which is both a good and bad thing depending on how you look at it#MiqoMarch2024#MiqoMarch#ffxiv#d'nyr#d'nyr fellcrest

Demon Bros w/ Inexperienced Dom
A/N: My first attempt at a NSFW work in, um......................... Don't worry about it. I like a lot of the dom reader content in the fandom, but a lot of it I've seen with super experienced/confident doms, so I decided to go a little differently. Somewhat inspired by my Lucifer post. This is less smut and more characterisation.
Content/Warnings: sub characters, dom reader (obviously). Mentions of impact play, degradation, kink negotiation, non-sexual submission, aftercare. Mentions of the use of the pact and discussions of poor safeword use.
Lucifer
It goes both ways with Lucifer. He would appreciate an experienced dom, someone who knows what they're doing, who can take him in hand and who he can be confident to lead him.
However, he can't deny that there's some comfort in your lack of experience. Submitting himself in this way is something new to him too - knowing that you are both in unfamiliar territory makes it easier to handle.
Easing you both into the roles takes a bit of time. Lucifer trusts you, he loves you, and he wants this. It just takes a while for him to fully accept that he can relax completely and let you take control.
Part of the easing-in process is completely non-sexual, and just him seeking comfort from you after a long day, trusting himself to your care. Letting you make some of the decisions, deferring to your opinion when appropriate.
And a big part is figuring out what it is you both want in bed.
Lucifer is fairly obedient - the fact that he’s trusting you to dominate him at all is telling, and so he doesn’t feel the need to put up a fight.
Sometimes he does like to be made to submit, a bit of his bratty side shining through.
Whether your preferences lie in the gentle or the hard, Lucifer will find something to enjoy. The most important thing to him is that it’s you.
Either way, edging is generally a better tactic than overstimulation for Lucifer. While his tolerance is high, his patience is surprisingly low for such an ancient, powerful being. Both can work, it just depends how quickly you want to break down his pride.
After a while, Lucifer is decently likely to suggest new things in the bedroom and will listen to anything you would like to introduce. Lucifer has quite the pain tolerance and so long as it’s behind closed doors, he’s willing to try most things because it’s with you.
Mostly, submitting is an act of trust for Lucifer, but also a break from his responsibilities. Having you tell him what to do, knowing you’ll take care of him, it provides a relief that he hasn’t felt in a long time. As you grow more confident with time, he comes to enjoy it even more.
At first he’s hesitant to safeword, but after some discussion you’re able to reframe it in his head. Safewording is not something that happens ‘because he can’t take it’ as he initially thought, but another way for him to trust you with his care and comfort. Lucifer's never had issues with anyone else safewording, it’s only when it’s him that he struggles with the idea.
Aftercare involves a few quiet, sincere compliments and getting him cleaned up. He’s pretty explicit with his aftercare needs at the beginning, which is good because later you learn that you can make him go pretty dumb and he will not help you.
After he’s recovered enough though, he’s quick to check in on you as well. His pride won't allow him to leave you to help yourself.
Submission is not likely to be shown outside the bedroom except in very subtle ways. As above, he’ll ask for your opinion more and be generally more polite. Lucifer is also one who will take the submissive role privately just to relax rather than for sex.
Mammon
Mammon isn’t exactly a virgin, but he’s not had a lot of long term partners, let alone ones he actually gives a shit about.
As such, he can be just as bad as Lucifer in admitting he wants this. Mammon is afraid on some level that you’ll mock him. After all, he’s a big scary demon - why would he be interested in submitting to a weak human?
A big part of domming Mammon is learning to read between the lines and facilitate him being able to express his honest feelings. Mammon will get defensive if he feels he liked something too much when he shouldn’t have. Talking about your own feelings is a good way to get him to open up about his (“I really like when you begged, because it made me feel needed.” “Well, if you liked it that much… I guess I could do it again.”)
Mammon is pretty eager for praise and attention, so anything that gives him those things is probably something he’ll enjoy.
You’re likely the one who brings up new ideas to try out. Mammon’s by no means innocent, but he’s got his go-to kinks for jacking off and he doesn’t usually explore beyond those. He’s more likely to suggest changes to what you’re already doing after he becomes more confident in your relationship.
If Mammon were more honest with himself, he’d probably be the perfect sub for a dom figuring their stuff out. He’s very obedient and even when he tries to play the brat, threats of taking away your touch or attention are enough to get him back in line.
Overstimulation or edging both work. Mammon’s very honest with your hand or mouth on his dick. If he likes something, you’ll know.
You may consider using the pact to order him to safeword out if he does feel overwhelmed, though. Mammon doesn’t want you to think any less of him, and it’s going to take him a little while to be willing to safeword. It’s not that he doesn’t trust you, but he gets in his head about these things.
Aftercare is a lot of praise and cuddling. Mammon is clingy and you’re definitely not going to be able to leave until he gets out of subspace. He gets stressed if you’re not around when he’s like that.
Another one where his submission won’t be super obvious in your daily life except he will get hard easily if you give him an order or do anything he associated with your dom side.
While Mammon can take a fair amount of physical roughness, he has some hard limits on degradation. If that’s something you’re into, you may need to wait until he’s comfortable talking in-depth about his needs in your relationship.
Leviathan
Doesn’t matter at all that you’re inexperienced. Another one who’s likely to feel some comfort that he’s not the only one feeling a bit out of his depth.
Likely to turn to hentai or doujins for ideas. May request you two start with roleplaying from these just to get used to your roles in bed. It gives him a clear script and expectations, which helps him focus on the pleasure rather than worry about what’s going to happen or how he’ll react.
Levi’s anxiety can be calmed by telling him what you want to do to him so he knows what to expect. He’ll open up more to surprises later on, but at the beginning of his sub journey he’s too worried about doing the wrong thing.
While Levi may like degradation, he needs praise to feel safe as well. He needs to know you’re enjoying yourself too.
Combining praise with a condescending tone is a good way to balance it out.
While Levi is shy about it, he’s likely to bring up things he wants to try. He’s also one of the more likely to discuss kinks and hard nos in depth first, both for himself and for you.
Levi is a very obedient and responsive sub, and while he will likely complain or say no, no’ no matter what you do, he is someone you can be confident will safeword if he needs to.
Any attempts at being a brat are quickly foiled by how hard and desperate he gets.
Aftercare involves getting clean. He likes gentle touches and soft words. Helping him wash off the sweat from the night’s activities reassures him that he’s loved.
Submission may come into play outside of the bedroom, mostly for Levi’s comfort. When he knows you’ve got control, he can relax a little. Usually it’s just him reaching to you for comfort if socialising is getting a little overwhelming, but sometimes it’s things like getting him to go to bed at a reasonable hour or making sure he eats some healthy foods.
Overall, Levi and you will have a good time figuring out what works and what doesn’t. Once his initial shyness is overcome, he’ll be bringing up kinky ideas and telling you exactly how much he likes what you do to him… though that blush while he does may never go away.
Satan
Intrigued by the idea of submitting. As a powerful demon, he never really considered it nor how good it could feel. He agrees to try it more for the experience and finds he really enjoys it.
As much as he resents feeling controlled, it's different when it's with you. He knows he can trust you to only want his pleasure and happiness. He knows that regardless of what you say to him or call him in the moment, you'll always love him after.
Satan isn’t as embarrassed about bringing up ideas to try or asking your opinion on certain kinks. In fact, he’d be a model sub…
…were it not for the fact that a lot of his understanding of the dynamic comes from erotica novels. You’re going to be the one introducing the ideas of kink negotiation and safewords.
Satan is pretty versatile in his preferences. He likes rough and gentle, mean and kind, simple kinks to the harder stuff. So long as you’re into it, he’s willing to try it at least once. He's pretty clear on his opinions, so you can build up an idea of what you both like and what you and he dislike.
At first he will dislike the idea of safewording. You’ll have to explain to him how important it is to you to know he will stop the scene if he’s not enjoying it and that if you thought you could hurt him, you’d never be willing to try anything beyond the most vanilla of kinks.
Will actually safeword a few times at the beginning just to prove to you that he can. Not for no reason, but when he starts to feel a little uncomfortable rather than when he’s truly overwhelmed.
Satan is pretty willing to bring up things he wants to try. He can be a bit of a brat at times, but some light degradation or manhandling gets those ideas out of his head real quick.
Satan likes to be cleaned up pretty quickly for the aftercare. He needs closeness and physical contact, and while he appreciates kind words he may or may not be able to respond immediately. While the initial aftercare will be left mostly to you, in the morning after (or just once Satan’s recovered enough) he’ll want to return the favour. Breakfast in bed, massages, praise and kind words - whatever you need.
Submission outside of sex typically only happens when he’s overwhelmed or feeling his sin. Letting you take care of him while he vents his feelings - through words or sobs - is better than anything he’s ever tried on his own.
Asmodeus
Oh boy.
Asmo is super experienced as a dom and a sub. He's super open about what he likes, what he dislikes, and what he'd just love to try with you.
If you’re inexperienced, Asmo will go into full detail about the sort of things you can do together, keeping a close eye on your reactions to gauge your interest.
However, Asmo isn’t as experienced with committed relationships. It’s mostly been casual play, and he’s surprised by the difference the emotional level of your relationship makes.
Every bit of praise leaves him whining for more, every tease or light touch leaves him gasping, and when you finally give him what he wants he’s so overwhelmed he nearly cries.
He loves it.
Very likely to bring new ideas to the bedroom. If there’s ever anything you’re unsure of, he’ll offer to demonstrate. If you're comfortable with it, Asmo will show you how he wants to be dominated by dominating you. If not, he'll just do it to himself.
Or porn. Asmo doesn’t really need to watch much porn - his imagination is pretty good - but he’s got enough familiarity with the Devildom industry and some actors to find what he wants to show you.
Asmo needs to be held, praised, and reassured you love him and think he’s beautiful. Especially after more intense or degrading scenes. Clean-up will happen before sleep, but cuddles will take priority… unless there’s anything that could mess with his skin.
Asmo is capable of being a brat or obedient. He’s very responsive to your needs and desires, and one of the advantages of being the Avatar of Lust is that he will enjoy himself with almost anything.
Asmo has quite the corruption kink, in a way. He likes the idea of being so tempting and beautiful you can’t help but do all sorts of naughty things to him. Bringing it up during sex is a pretty surefire way to get him close.
Very reliable safeword user. He rarely does, but you can be confident he will if he needs it.
Submission isn’t obvious outside the bedroom… unless you count Asmo calling you master much more often now. Hey, it’s not a sex thing! You just are his master, so it’s fine, right?
Beelzebub
Also pretty clueless.
Beel isn’t exactly naive, but he’s a man of simple tastes. Any sexual urges were usually dealt with as quickly as possible to get them out of the way so he could go back to eating or training.
He’s quite willing to try pretty much anything you suggest to him though, and he’s always very honest in his feedback, even if he’s blushing while he gives it.
Beel enjoys gentleness and tenderness, but he’s quick to remind you that you can be rough with him, too.
Generally he’s more focused on your pleasure than his. Definitely into service. It works out well, because he feels comfortable with you telling him what to do. It does fluster him when you flip the script and focus on his pleasure. His reactions are well worth it.
100% obedient. He has a mischievous side but he melts pretty quickly. Beel will usually be straightforward, but if you do catch him breaking rules or riling you up it’s generally a sign he wants to be handled roughly.
His openness and willingness to try new things makes it pretty easy to develop a repertoire of kinks in the bedroom.
You’re the one who’s going to be bringing up the more technical kinks, but Beel will be open about things he wants to do or add. Marking you and you marking him, giving head, different positions, the like.
The only thing he struggles with is degradation. Even if Beel knows you don’t mean it, it doesn’t feel good for you to say cruel things to him.
Reliable with his safeword. He knows you need to know if he’s unhappy.
Aftercare is very much a two way street with Beel. He needs to know you’re taken care of as well or else he can’t relax properly. Cleaning each other up, saying kind things to each other, he’ll also give you a massage if you haven’t worn him out completely.
Submission outside the bedroom isn’t super noticeable, though Beel does go to you for comfort. He’s always been willing to listen to you so that doesn’t change too much.
Belphegor
Into it.
Doesn’t try to hide how into it he is.
Belphie will play a little coy, get you to tell him exactly what you want to do to him, but you can tell he’s excited by the idea. Your inexperience doesn't mean much to him.
Belphie has a tendency to ignore anything that gets in the way of sleep, or deal with it as quickly as possible.
As such, while he’s not naive, he doesn’t have much experience with kink. Belphie is motivated though and will make an effort to look into kinks and figure out the details of how this dynamic will work between you. He expects praise for it.
Belphie likes a bit of rough play and is likely to be a brat. He likes it when you make an effort for him - when you teach him a lesson, when you push your muscles hard to make an impact on a demon like him, when you bring in toys and new ideas to drive him crazy.
He has his pillow princess moments. Sometimes he wants to lie back and be taken care of. Belphie likes your gentler side too, and when he’s too tired to do much more than get hard it’s a good time to bring it out.
Decently likely to bring up new ideas, keeping a close eye on your reaction. Belphie needs to know you’re having a good time as well. If you try something new, he’ll be looking for your feedback almost immediately.
Another one you may have to pact order to safeword at first. Belphie can be stubborn and if you’re having a good time, he doesn’t want to ruin it. If he gets stuck in those thoughts, it often leads to a lot of self-loathing and guilt. It’s better to nip it in the bud before it can grow into a full meltdown.
You are going to be heading clean-up. Belphie will be cranky about it in the morning but he will fall asleep in his own cum. If you cannot physically drag him to the bathroom for a shower, the pact may have to come into play once more.
Submission outside the bedroom is pretty much nonexistent - or at least very, very subtle. You may find that Belphie will listen to you more when you insist he wake up and get ready for RAD.
#sub obey me#obey me smut#dom reader#obey me headcanons#this is mostly just for my own characterisation#i have a Lot of Thoughts about how their characters contribute to their dynamics in bed#i am a firm believer in sub lucifer supremacy#and sub boys in general

do you think every disabled character in wc is handled poorly? i understand theres def some cases of ableism but at the same time when i hear ppl say that its usually bc the disabled cat wasnt able to become a warrior due to their disability. and i feel like ppl forget, that not everyone irl CAN do what they want after they become disabled. ex. someone wants to be an athlete, but their legs have to be amputated. a cat like briarlight esp i feel is p realistic and could be a source of comfort
Hello there, thank you for writing in. I’m going to reply to this question with a series of questions I think are a bit more useful, given what you’re trying to ask me. I hope that’ll clarify what is a deeply complex, multilayered issue.
Do I think Erin Hunter handles anything in the series “well”? Not really. I don’t have a high opinion of the work of the collective and, broadly speaking, I think every right note they play, metaphorically speaking, is an instance of chance rather than effort, skill, or intention. Stopped clocks are right twice a day, mediocre writers will sometimes do something cool by accident, similar principle. That’s not to say Erin Hunter hasn’t ever done anything on purpose--just that overall the underlying drive of the series isn’t so much quality as it is quantity, and speed of production, and it shows.
Do I think Erin Hunter puts any significant research into how they portray disability? No. I do not think it is a priority for this series. They’re not trying to make a meaningful work of literature, or capture a realistic experience of disability, or tell especially impactful or thoughtful stories, or even make a particularly good or coherent fantasy world. Warriors is a specifically commercial product that was commissioned by HarperCollins to appeal to a particular demographic of drama-loving, cat-loving kids. It’s not really trying to do anything but sell books, because it’s a business, so the text in many ways reflects that. They’re not going for disability representation, in my opinion. They’re including disability in many cases as a plot-point or an obstacle.
Do I think this means that people can’t connect to these characters and narratives in meaningful ways? No. Often I say that a work is completed only when it is read. Before that point, it doesn’t have a meaning: a reader finishes the work through the act of reading, and interpretation, and filling in the spaces and resonance of the story with their own values and experiences. When people talk about subjectivity, this is what they are talking about. What this means in the context of disabled characters in Warriors is that these characters and their stories can be multiple, conflicting, even mutually exclusive things at the same time, to different people, for different reasons.
Do I think characters have to be “good” to be significant to someone? No. I think genuinely “bad” (i.e., not researched or poorly researched, cliche, thoughtlessly written, problematic, etc. etc.) characters can be deeply meaningful, and often are. Ditto above: for many people, and especially marginalised or stigmatised people, reading is almost always an act of translation, wherein the person is reading against the creative work of the dominant culture in a way that the author likely didn’t intend or didn’t even imagine. There’s a long documented history of this in queer culture, but it’s true for just about everyone who is rarely (or unfairly) represented in media. Disabled people often have to read deeply imperfect works of fiction featuring disability and reinterpret them in the process--whether to relate to a kind of disability they don’t experience themselves but which is the closest they’re offered to something familiar, or to turn positive and meaningful what is intended as narrative punishment, or simply to create what’s commonly called headcanon about “non-disabled” characters who echo their personal experiences.
Do I think everyone has to agree? Extremely no. As I said before, people will actually always disagree, because all people have different needs and different experiences. What can be interpreted as empowering to one person might be very othering and painful for another. There is no “right” answer, because, again, that is how subjectivity works. This is especially true because marginalised communities are often many different kinds of people with different lives and needs brought together over a trait or traits they share due to the need for solidarity as protection and power--but only in a broad sense. It’s why there is often intracommunity fighting over representation: there isn’t enough, there’s only scraps, and so each person’s personal interpretation can feel threatening to people whose needs are different. You can see examples of this especially when it comes to arguments over character sexuality: a queer female character might be interpreted as bisexual by bisexual people who relate to her and want her to be, while being interpreted as lesbian by lesbians who also relate to her and want her to be like them. Who is correct? Often these different interpretations based on different needs are presented as if one interpretation is theft from the other, when in fact the situation is indicative of the huge dearth of options for queer people. It becomes increasingly more intense when it comes to “canon” representations, because of the long history of having to read against the grain I mentioned above: there’s novelty and, for some people, validation in “canon” certainty. And again, all of this is also true for disabled people and other stigmatised groups.
Do I think this is a problem? Not exactly. It is what it is. It is the expected effect of the circumstances. Enforced scarcity creates both the need for community organising and solidarity and the oppressive pressure to prioritise one’s self first and leave everyone else in the dust (or else it might happen to you). The system will always pit suppressed people against each other constantly, because it actively benefits from intracommunity fighting. Who needs enemies when you have friends like these, and so on. A solution is absolutely for everyone in community to hold space for these different needs and values, and to uplift and support despite these differences, but it’s not anyone’s fault for feeling threatened or upset when you don’t have much and feel like the thing that you do have is being taken away. It’s a normal, if not really helpful, human response. But until people learn and internalised that the media is multifaceted and able to be many things at once, without any of those things being untrue or impacting your truth of the text, then there will be fighting.
Do I think my opinion on disability on Warriors is all that important? No, not really. I can relate to some characters in some moment through that translation, but my opinion on, say, Jayfeather is nowhere near as worthy of consideration than that of someone who is blind. I don’t have that experience and it’s not something I can bring meaningful thinking about, really. That’s true for all these characters. If you want to learn about disability, prioritise reading work about disabled rights and activism that is done by disabled people, and literary criticism from disabled people. And as I mentioned above, remember that community isn’t a monolith: it’s a survival tactic, that brings together many different people with disparate experiences of the world. So research widely.
Finally--do I think there’s only one kind of disabled narrative worth telling? No. For some people, a disabled character achieving a specific, ability-focused dream is a good story. For other people, a story that acknowledges and deals with the realities, and limitations, of disability is a good story. The same person might want both of those stories at different times, depending on their mood. That’s okay. Sometimes there’s power and delight in a fantasy of overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles and defying all expectations. Sometimes there’s value and catharsis in a narrative that delves into the challenges and grief and oppression experienced because of disability. There’s no one truth.
To round all this off, I’m going to give my favourite example of this, which is Cinderella. I think it’s a great and useful tool, since for many it’s familiar and it’s very simple. Not much happens. In the story, she is bullied and tormented, until a fairy godmother gifts her over several nights with the opportunity to go to a royal ball, where she dances with a prince. The prince eventually is able to find Cinderella, due to a shoe left behind, and they are married. In some versions, the family that mistreated her are killed. In others, they’re forgiven.
Some people hate the story of Cinderella, because she is seen as passive. She tolerates the bullying and never fights back. She does every chore she’s told. She is given an opportunity by a fairy godmother, and she doesn’t help herself go to the ball. She runs from the prince and he does the work to find her again. Eventually, she’s married and the prince, presumably, keeps her in happiness and comfort for the rest of her life.
For some, this story is infuriating, because Cinderella doesn’t “save herself”: she is largely saved by external forces. She is seen as a quintessential damsel-in-distress, and especially for people who have been bullied, infantalised, or made to feel less capable or weak, that can be a real point of personal pain and discomfort.
However, for some others, Cinderella is a figure of strength, because she is able to endure such hostile environments and terrible people and never gives up her gentle nature or her hope. She never becomes cruel, or bitter. She is brave in daring to go outside her tiny, trapped world, and she is brave to let the prince find her. She doesn’t have to fight or struggle to earn her reward of happiness and prove her worth, because she was always deserving of love and kindness. The prince recognises at once, narratively speaking, her goodness and virtue, and stops at nothing to deliver her a better life.
Depending on the version, the wicked family disfigure themselves for their own greed--or are punished, which for some is a revenge fantasy; or Cinderella forgives them and once again shows her tenacious kindness, which for others is a different revenge fantasy.
The point? Cinderella is the same character in the same story, but these are almost unrecognisable readings when you put them side-by-side. Which one is right? Which one is better? In my opinion, those are the wrong questions. I hope this (long, sorry) reply is a set of more useful ones.

Aphmau HCs
Sadly no Visher ones because I have no more to share since I’m trying not to latch too much onto him. Since he’s dead and all.
At the request of the lovely @erionlextib
These will be MCD ones. If that’s not obvious.
Huge identity crisis with the whole Irene thing. But she gets through it with Garroth’s support. He’s a good friend.
Her pregnancy with Alina was a bit Rocky. There was a lot of health problems, which was strange because Aphmau’s super healthy usually, and she was basically out of commission until Alina’s birth.
She can share people’s emotional pain. Like how Aaron care share physical pain. she can take it from them but then she has to experience it herself. Not a fun power, but she uses it from time to time.
She draws dragons a lot. They aren’t real so she doesn’t know what they look like, but she likes to combine interpretations of them.
She can’t swim, but she loves water. And fish. So she’ll usually just sit in a shallow part of water for a bit, sometimes dropping her head beneath the surface to look at the fish.
She’s a light sleeper. Bad energy or loud noises will wake her easily. She sleeps deeper when cuddling up with Aaron, or her wolves. But that’s just because they make her feel safe.
She likes music a lot. And when it gets quiet she likes to hum songs she vaguely remembers. When Aaron and her get close, he starts humming them too and it always makes her smile.
She likes to have elegant knives. She Collects them.
Precognitive. Slightly. Might get into it another time.
Overprotective mother. Will punch a 6 year old in the mouth for bad-talking one of her kids.
She’s both the kind of person who cleans up good and grimes up nice… if that makes sense… like she’s hot when she’s all nice and proper looking but she’s also sexy when she’s bloody and caked in mud. She’s just hot.
She gets more markings as time goes on and her powers get stronger. A good way to show off her power growth.
Surprisingly high pain tolerance.
Stupid amount of trust in herself. She believes she can do anything. Like anything. And she thinks she’s so safe and stable. She’s wrong.
Sometimes she accidentally sets off her powers. This usually comes in randomly sprouted flowers and stuff. Sometimes she flashes bright white. Depends on her mood.
And to bring up what you said about Zianna…. You are correct about the half thing. I was just in a funky mood and I decided ‘hey, why not.’ And so I did it. And now you have elegant fish lady Zianna.

Nothing Alike: VIII
Description: Geralt of Rivia has been tasked with taking out a fellow Witcher who has decided to settle down in a town. She has no intention of leaving and Geralt is forced to take matters into his own hands.
Geralt x Reader
Warnings: violence, language, angst
MASTERLIST
The king’s men caught up with them three days later.
There horse was surrounded before either of them knew what was happening, and the crown prince was in their ranks, sword drawn, the point directed at Y/N as she sat behind Geralt.
“You were supposed to kill this one,” he drawled, sharp noise just as harsh as it pointed at Geralt. “And yet, she breathes.”
“Wish I wasn’t as bad as you smell,” she cut in, jumping from the steed, brandishing her sword. The men who surrounded them drew their swords in turn, but that arrogant smile didn’t leave her for a moment. “Twelve against one, I like my odds.”
“Does this Witcher not fight for you?”
“No one fights for me, especially not the Witcher.”
“Then we will have no problem taking you. Guards.” They climbed down from their horses and she readied herself, sword poised to take them all. She slashed at one with deadly speed, but with professional grace she only brushed one’s fingers enough to cut his knuckles. He dropped his sword in surprise. She took another step forward and pressed the tip of his sword to the man’s throat.
Geralt was sure she could have fought to the final breath, maybe even killed most of them on her way down, but Geralt couldn’t bear to watch her kill. Not after he had heard the screams of the auctioneer.
As she brandished her sword for the second strike, he brought down his own sword, clanging iron against iron to halt what would have become an onslaught of carnage.
She whirled around, and as he had done the first time, he met her, smacked her head with the butt of his sword. She crumpled to the ground and Geralt glared at the guards who dared to advance.
“I believe criminals are given trials in your kingdom.” The prince glared at him, clearly itching to return with nothing more than her head. He studied the Geralt and his sword, clearly considering him a far greater adversary than Y/N. Angrily, he nodded in defeat.
“Bind her. We ride until sundown and then camp for the night.” The guards advanced again but Geralt directed his sword at them once more.
“I will keep her.”
“As you kept her before, letting her ravage the county side while you watch idly?”
“She is not a dog to be tamed.”
“No, she’s a rabid bitch.”
“Then I would not want you to catch fleas, Your Royal Highness.”
“I see you have already caught whatever disease she has to offer,” the prince said with a smirk but did nothing to stop Geralt from gathering her onto his horse, binding her wrists around his waist as he sat atop his horse. “If you run, we’ll kill you both, honor be damned.”
“I would expect nothing less.” In terms of smugness, this prince could give Y/N a run for her money. He urged Roach to follow the great peacocker and his bodyguards.
They took the easy trails, which were subsequently the longer. It was going to take them three days at least to reach the palace at the rate they were going. Geralt couldn’t believe he had subjected himself to this without a fight.
Not only was he being forced to parade after a prince, but it was also agonizingly slow. The king’s men stopped to hunt game that would only make the ride longer. They were acting like this was a vacation, not the hunt of a mass murderer who had singlehandedly overturned the economy. Maybe that’s why they were behaving this way because they were convinced, they had won. They were sure that they had caught the dreaded beast, and that thought made Geralt chuckled to himself. She wasn’t caught until she was dead.
But he wasn’t going to tell them that, not when he had grown a twisted fondness for his study.
It was no surprise that she gained consciousness before they had gone a mere twenty miles. He felt her shifting against his back, and he waited for the unforgiving tug against his midsection as she struggled to get away, but it never came. She merely sighed and gently bumped her head against his spine.
“That’s the second time you’ve done that to me,” she grumbled, and he laughed again, doing his best to keep quiet lest he alert the prince.
“When you come up with a counterattack let me know,” he whispered. He could practically feel her rolling her eyes.
“Very funny.” She settled back into silence after that, and he thought she might be sleeping until he felt the faintest tug of his belt. He glanced down to find small, nimble fingers removing a knife from his belt. He caught her hand and she let out a sardonic sigh.
“Nice try.”
“Not nice enough.”
“I can’t make it too easy, can I?”
“I wouldn’t complain.”
“I’m sure Prince Peacock would.”
“Oh, we care about his feelings now?”
“Do you want your face all over wanted posters?”
“Depends on how good they get the portrait.” It was Geralt’s turn to role his eyes. “So, how do you think everything’s going to go down with the good king?”
“How apologetic are you feeling?”
“I have no reason to apologize.”
“Then you should write your will now.” She laughed, this time loud enough to capture the attention of the prince. He slowed his horse and rode along side the two witchers, that smug smirk never leaving his face. He never said a word, just stared with hungry eyes. It was clear he didn’t think she was as much of a dog as he had stated before. Geralt knew she was staring back with fierce indignation, golden eyes sparkling in the sunlight.
After a few moments, he quickened his pace and whispered orders to the guards. They all nodded and, and five of the twelve charged forward. Geralt watched and noted the sky, assuming that they were going to set up camp for the spoiled prince.
About an hour later, Geralt’s assumptions were proved true as they stepped into the most luxurious looking camp he had ever seen. He remained on his horse as the rest of the men dismounted, not sure how he was going to climb down with Y/N tied to his waist.
“Come on Witcher, don’t run now,” the prince called as he walked towards an ornate purple and orange tent. “Wilhelm, cut down the girl and bring her to my tent, I have some things I would like to discuss with her before dinner.”
As a guard cut her down, dragging her towards the tent, Geralt wanted to be annoyed, but he couldn’t. Not when he understood. Frankly, he was just annoyed that the peacock was acting like that wasn’t his goal. She let herself be dragged away, tossed inside the tent. Geralt rolled his eyes as he dismounted, leading Roach to a tree before settling himself against its trunk.
It was only ten minutes before the yelling began. It seemed she had tolerated him five minutes longer than Geralt had anticipated. The prince came out roaring, his hand knotted in her hair as he dragged her forward. He stepped into the firelight and the reason for the yelling became clear. Three long claw marks had made an appearance on his cheek, rivers of blood leaking from each.
“Tie a noose, we’re going to string her up,” he screamed into the darkness. Heavy feet scrambled to follow orders while Geralt merely watched. She didn’t struggle in his grasp; he was sure she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction. The requested knot was presented and slipped around her neck. They tossed the rope over a tree and then as she screamed profanities, they pulled it taught.
Her fingers went straight to the loop as pulled it away from her windpipe. The tips of her toes brushed the ground as she howled and spit like a feral cat.
“This’ll teach you to disrespect me, cunt,” the prince laughed, creeping closer, putting his hands on her hips, sliding them up towards the swell of her chest. In one sacrificial sweep of her leg she kicked the man between his legs and cut off her own air supply. As she struggled to regain her footing, Geralt was on his feet, sword in his hand. “Hoist her up,” the peacock screamed, still doubled over in pain, and as instructed she was off the ground, coughing and gasping for air.
“Put her down,” Geralt growled to the guard who was holding her. The guard glanced at his sword and instantly obeyed, but the prince wasn’t having it.
“Do you take orders from monsters now?” he screamed, a violent temper tantrum brewing as he drew his own sword. “I said, hoist her up. Let’s see how long it takes a bitch to beg.”
“And I said, put her down before I gut you.” Her feet hit the floor and another royal scream filled their ears.
“I’m in charge here.” The prince marched forward, shoving the guard out of the way and giving the rope a brutal yank of his own. She was hanging again, lips turning blue. With a flash of his sword, the rope severed, and she hit the ground, gasping for air as she struggled to stand. “You fucking mutant, I’ll have you both killed,” he screamed like a madman, swinging his sword around with no regard for those who stepped a bit too close. He swung at Geralt, who lazily blocked the strike and sent the sword flying from his hands.
“If you wish for cooperation, you will do nothing further to harm my keep. She is granted a trial, and you will not steal that right because she would not have your cock.” The prince spat at him, seething beneath the purple of his cheeks. “Harm her again, and you will not have a cock, are we understood?” A moment passed before the prince seemed to compose himself.
“Wilhelm, find the collar, and make sure she stays out of my sight.” With that, he marched back into his tent with a huff. Wilhelm had the requested collar within a moment, and he clasped it around her bruised throat without a struggle. He dragged her stumbling towards the tree where Geralt had laid moments before. A stake holding the chain was driven into the ground and she was left in the dark, just a touch too far from the fire to feel its warmth.
He wandered to her side and settled against the truck, watching silently as she struggled to get comfortable.
“You should have let them kill me,” she snapped, but her voice was to ragged to sound at all threatening.
“You haven’t finished you will yet,” he said, and she let out a raspy laugh. When she said nothing more, he was worried she had passed out, but her eyes still glowed in the moonlight. “Where does the gold go?”
“What?”
“You know, when you win bets or fights you win gold, but where does it all go?”
“Why are you still hung up on that?”
“Consider it morbid curiosity.” A beat of silence passed before she answered.
“I leave it in people’s homes. Those with pregnant women.” That is not what he had expected, so he remained silent, waiting for her to explain further. “That way if any of their husbands promise the law of surprise, the gold will be the surprise.” Suddenly it all made sense. Everything from fighting to drinking to tagging along with him was to prevent the creation of more child surprises. To stop more people from ending up like her.
He suddenly felt guilty for letting them take her. He glanced back to her and found that she was sleeping, worn out from the day he had put her through. He was tired too, but the thought of what the peacock might to do to her if someone wasn’t watching scared him too much for sleep to overtake him. So, he remained awake, pondering gold and the woman sleeping beside him.

Story summary/walkthrough under the cut
Our story kicks off when Lamera, J'aimekiel, ZZZ and Grandefel are all wondering what hell is like, since none of them (except Grandefel, who's lying about it) have ever been there. ZZZ is extremely curious by nature and decides to just go there because why not. Grandefel tries to resist and ZZZ calls her a coward (You can read this first part here, but it's not great quality imo)
About a day passes without much happening, until everyone hears a distress call from ZZZ. Ngah who's the mother of Lamera and ZZZ, scoops them out, whereupon everyone sees the sorry state the angel is in. Something bad and violent had happened in hell (You can read this part here, content warning for nonhuman gore)
We come back to the story not long after, with our two persecutors, Grandefel and Deirdre meeting secretly in limbo. Deirdre has news she's worried about but loses her chance to tell them when Ngah bursts into the scene, foaming at the mouth, demanding retribution for how ZZZ was treated down in hell. Grandefel is forced to leave and Ngah makes Deirdre escort her to speak to hells manager high judgement. Apparently ZZZ violated several rules upon entering hell and was generally very rude, driving some of Deirdre's friends to attack them on her behalf. Deirdre stayed compliant because she hasn't been feeling well lately and isn't fond of angels in general (except Grandefel). The explanation and lukewarm apology for what happened doesn't please Ngah and she decides to call on a high court case, aka essentially suing them. Hells high judgement has no option but to attend the case (You can read this part here)
After about an hour, hells high judgement along with Deirdre and a few punishers make their appearance in heaven, but not before J'aimekiel can wonder outloud about how empty heaven is. She tries to ask Lamera about why there's barely any angels but the high court case starts. Deirdre gets her apology in, but before it can be accepted properly by all high angels, Ngah directs the conversation elsewhere. She accuses Grandefel of "using her time unprofessionally", and starts trying to squeeze out something from both Persecutors. Delilah, Deirdre's sister, intervenes so the court won't dissolve to off topic accusations but Xerxes wants to hear what Ngah has to say. (You can read all that in more detail here)
After dancing around the topic with increasing frustration, Grandefel reveals that she and Deirdre are in a relationship. Ngah not-so-subtly expresses her disgust with this and makes a direct jab at Deirdre, revealing to everyone that she's pregnant. Since it's a surprise to everyone but Deirdre herself, the revelation is met with backlash. Ngah knows this because as a high angel she can sense angelic life, and because she has a habit of stalking keeping a very close eye on everyone around her. Now that everything has finally been outed, the court dissolves into arguing.
Most angels aside from Ngah and maybe Kxxxtr are actually pretty fine with this kind of crossover happening and Lamera would gladly step in to Grandefels defense but is held back in fear of Ngah's rage. J'aimekiel however isn't, and raises her voice from the crowd. She calls out Ngah for her hateful remarks and reminds everyone that she was born a demon but became an angel after, and if that is fine, this should also be fine, right? Ngah starkly disagrees and in vague terms makes it clear that J'aimekiels existence is only tolerated, and might be because they quote on quote don't have better options right now. J'aimekiel is quite distraught by this and Lamera tries to come to her defense but is shut down by Ngah.
After a painful few hours the court case finally draws to a close with some new rules put in place going forward. One of them being that only the persecutors can make cross visits regularly, since it's required for their job. If any high judgements want to make cross visits it needs to be agreed upon beforehand. This is to avoid all possible conflict. Ngah also makes it clear that, "if they ever survive birth", Grandefel and Deirdre's children must pick a side and that "it would be for the best" if they never knew what they really were, or who their parents were. Despite the backlash, she gets everyone to comply thanks to everyone still being a little confused about the whole ordeal, and Ngah promising to be their personal problem if the children act out of line.
Case closed, everyone goes home. Deirdre feels extremely isolated from everyone now. Grandefel is kept busy by being given alot of heaven-centric work. While not explicitly getting in trouble for it, it's heavily implied that Grandefel really shouldn't be seen with Deirdre again outside of work related situations. J'aimekiel also feels isolated from everyone now.
A few dreadful months later the children are born in hell with Delilah supporting her sister. There's three. One is confirmed an angel via her halo. When Grandefel hears about their birth she can't keep herself away from them anymore, and with her help the children are named. The oldest is Mihail, middle one Meredith and youngest Gabriel. They also make the difficult decision of who gets to live with who. Despite all Grandefel doesn't take the angel child with her, instead taking Gabriel who she thinks would fit in due to how he looks. The children are raised apart like this and don't get to meet their other parent, despite being aware of their existence.
Somewhere along the line, one of Lameras halos gets a crack, something that's painful and quite a big deal for an angel. It's on the collar halo. The crack is small enough that he manages to hide it from everyone, especially since his beard covers most of his neck from view anyway
About a year later things have mostly calmed back down again. Although there's now alot more people who hate Ngah. A certain rather ordinary demon named Devoul makes the news in hell, thanks to Lamera hearing about him from a mortal. The thing is that Devoul has been tricking mortals into working for him in exchange for superpowers and getting something they desperately want. He's been doing this under the guise of being "The Devil" who rules in hell. This is obviously unture and a trial ensues, but it's only kept to hell because nobody wants to involve heaven after last year's occurrence. It goes surprisingly smoothly, and a portion of the souls are reborn and the rest decide to continue on with their lives. One of them, Samuel, inspired to make up for his bad deeds, becomes an angel in training. Devoul is sentenced to 800+ years of tedious physical labor, case closed.
We resume to the story when in limbo, by pure happenstance, Devoul and Lamera bump into each other. They have a moment of "YOU" where Devoul manages to hit Lamera right in the mommy issues, making him drop all attempts at being nice. Devoul is taken aback by how much he unintentionally managed to rile up Lamera, knowing him to be one of the good™ angels. Devoul notices the crack in his halo and becomes curious, whilst also trying to pull up any shreds of decency he has. Lamera tries to deflect most of it and finds out Devoul is here to look for Godwatcher to ask some questions.
On their way to find them, the two talk over a few things and find themselves understanding each other better. Lamera still feels iffy about Devoul though, despite him trying to explain himself
They find Godwatcher together and ask some general questions about morality and the nature of angelhood. Godwatcher can't really give them any one correct answer, rather than "What you think is good or bad depends on what you value in this world. No angel is born being better and no demon is born being worse". The two mull over some of the things they've heard and talk about ""God"". Devoul keeps asking Lamera increasingly difficult questions that cause him to doubt his own worldview and dig into the fact that Ngah is absolutely not a good angel. This causes Lameras halo to crack all the way through, causing him pain and distress. He's deeply afraid of Ngah's reaction if she were to see him like this, and feels like he'll be in trouble. Devoul, having gained sympathy for Lamera, feels guilty that he caused this and tries to offer various ways to help, none of which end up helpful. Figuring that he'll have the next 800ish years of being punished anyway, he decides to dig his grave deeper by pretending to attact Lamera. As a cover up for what broke the halo, so Lamera himself won't be blamed since it obviously broke in conjunction with his trust in his mother.
Speak of which, Ngah hears them and scoops up both. Right on time too, since Deirdre was just about to retrieve Devoul to do his work. Up in heaven, Ngah Is "Dissapointed but not surprised" that Lameras halo broke. She lifts him up by it, intending to fix it, but being manhandled by his mother, through an injured body part, distresses Lamera alot. It doesn't sit right with Devoul and he tries talking to Ngah, who dismisses him as a speck of dust not worth listening to, and they dissolve into arguing. The stress of it all causes Lameras collar halo to finally shatter and fall off completely. He deflects any further attempts to fix it, and tries to confront Ngah about her behavior. This infuriates Ngah who then accuses Devoul of corrupting her child. More arguing ensues, during which Devoul uses his special power of reading people's memories to briefly look at Ngah. He sees her attempted murder and banishing of their third high angel who hasn't been seen in a long time. Apparently heaven had a big inner conflict some time back, which Ngah resolved this way. Their current low number of staff is due to a huge chunk of the angels leaving since they supported Ezekiels cause more.
Ngah, despite wanting to sweep it under the rug, doesn't deny that she did all this, which upsets Lamera even more. He and Ngah argue. Lamera hits her where it hurts (insulting her divinity) and she's about to possibly get violent, when Devoul casts a spell that paralyses her physically. As she's a powerful high angel it won't hold her for long, and the duo flee heaven
Devoul and Lamera hide out and rest at the foot of a mountain on earth. They go over everything and get to know each other better. Lamera is surprised that Devoul would care this much about what's happening upstairs to which he replies "Hey I still have morals" - "Except for that one time". Their bonding is interrupted by Deirdre who caught up to them finally, intending to take Devoul back. Lamera resists, to her surprise, and they explain the situation. Deirdre sympathises with them heavily but is unsure if they can do much. She promises to speak to the high judgements about this all anyway, as a start. Lamera decides to try talking things out with the high angels. Devoul makes a spell that allows him and Lamera to call and talk to each other just in case. The duo separate after sleeping through the night at that mountain.
Heaven: Lamera goes to talk to Kxxxtr about everything he's found out. Kxxxtr expresses regret over letting everything go on like this, especially since she doesn't necessarily agree with how Ngah works things around here. Witnessing the murder attempt has been traumatic for them, hence they stayed compliant out of fear. Kxxxtr does also make clear that whatever Lamera tries to do to change things in heaven, he'll have their support. Ngah who's been listening in on them, bursts in angrily, accusing them of conspiring against her. Kxxxtr tries to get past their fear and stand against Ngah, who proceeds to purposefully trigger them in order to get them to stand down. Instead of backing out, Kxxxtr strikes Ngah in a bout of rage. Regretting the move immediately, they send Lamera up to the higher heavens to safety, and so he could talk to the highest power: God's throne.
Hell: Devoul goes to his house to look at his spellbook in case there'd be anything useful, while Deirdre proceeds to talk to the high judgements. Before he can really find anything, Lamera calls him to tell that Ngah and Kxxxtr are at each other's throats and he's afraid and not sure what to do. Devoul helps him calm down and barely gets to explain what he's doing before the call forcefully disconnects with Lamera notifying how beautiful God's throne is (using both he and it pronouns). Devoul has just enough time to find a spell that will take away a big chunk of power from a powerful individual, before Deirdre comes to him in a rush. One of the high judgements, Xerxes, takes things related to Ngah very seriously and has decided to go fight her. It's not entirely clear if there's ulterior motives, other than wanting to fight her. Deirdre and Devoul head to an opening where they find the three: Delilah chewing out Xerxes for throwing his staff at the heavens, and Hart snickering in the background.
While waiting for the staff to hopefully return, Devoul decides to call Lamera back just in case. At first it feels like the call is forcefully blocked and directed away but eventually he responds. His answers are cryptic and he sounds overall very out of it. At one point, he starts talking entirely differently, way louder and with a completely different voice, asking Devoul if the staff should hit something. He makes it clear that it should definitely not hit anyone or anything and the staff gracefully floats back into Xerxes' hand. The call disconnects. Devoul is worried and decides he really needs to get up there. Luckily for him, despite Delilah's efforts to stop him, Xerxes is about to throw again. Impressed by Devouls determination, he puts the little demon onto the staff and throws it. This time the throw is alot less coordinated due to Delilah physically restraining his hand. Devoul however makes it to where Ngah has currently dropped Kxxxtr down from the cloud. They have a brief confrontation before Devoul uses the powersucking spell on her, causing her to also fall off the cloud. The spell takes a physical toll on him, partially by causing him to feel extremely hungry. All of Ngah's now removed power manifests as an orb. He hopes Lamera is okay and tries to look for him, and is suddenly lifted up to where he is, as if on command.
He enters the throne room where Lamera looks.. Off. He's extremely swollen, like a balloon blown to it's limits, and his entire face is engulfed in flames. He doesn't respond to Devoul trying to make sure he's okay. He only speaks in that different voice that's clearly not suited to his vocal chords. In the background Devoul sees God's throne, mouth moving slowly. He has a hard time really registering the Throne's physical form into something he can comprehend. There's separate elements (Crystals and gems, large mouth and eyes, galactic matter streaming in and out of it) but his brain can't bring them together in his head. Despite this he addresses the Throne With "What the fuck did you do him? (Lamera)". The throne proceeds to ignore his questions and attempts to take the orb from him through Lameras body, since the entity itself can't move much at all. Devoul is unwilling to hand it over until God's throne explains that now, since Kxxxtr is heavily injured, and Ngah technically not a high angel (in terms of strength), they need a new one. He exposits how He was just going to make Lamera into a high angel instead but having Devoul enter with the orb brought another option to the table. Devoul hands over the orb, which God's throne takes into it's mouth and Lamera falls limp, now presumably free from it's control. After both making sure they're okay, they exit the throne room and take a moment to collect themselves and pass out from the exhaustion.
Meanwhile Kxxxtr fell down to limbo, bleeding, where they're still laying, unable to move. Xerxes, who partially went to look for his staff, and partially to punt Ngah in the gut, discovers her. Kxxxtr is terrified at first but Xerxes offers her his armor, to cover for her leaking insides. She's taken aback by the kind gesture and they just sorta awkwardly hang out there while Kxxxtr explains what happens. Xerxes escorts her back later. Ngah has turned into a giant three headed serpent, and is having an episode somewhere, enraged and miserable at being demoted. Samuel and J'aimekiel are shook by the commotion and are trying to figure out what's going on. Xerxes finds Ngah on his way back and they start fighting (he still hasn't gotten his staff back).
Upon waking up, Devoul and Lamera lament over the whole mess. Samuel and J'aimekiel find the two and want an explanation. Devoul and Samuel aren't thrilled at seeing each other again. After a thoroughly uncomfortable interaction they part ways, Lamera leaving to clean up things upstairs and Devoul returning to his punishment work downstairs, dreading all the more trouble he might be in now. He stumbles upon Xerxes with Ngah in a chokehold, and doesn't even recognize her. Ngah is now even more pissed at him, but with some help he realizes who she is. Xerxes seems intent on killing her but Devoul tries to stop him, knowing Lamera would be destroyed by something like that happening. They heavily discuss it before concluding that Ngah really should answer for her crimes instead of getting the easy way out. She's locked up in the Void District until she can play nice again (and until they can figure out a proper punishment for her). Xerxes and Devoul chat on their way back, and Xerxes, still very impressed by the little demon's spirit, offers to recruit him. Devoul, although surprised, accepts the offer. He still has alot of punishment work left but at least he'd get to do it in consistent company.
About a day passes and everyone is almost getting to settle in, when something strange captures the attention of all the angels. God's throne is now finished making them a new High angel - how exciting! The new angel, instructed by the Throne, fetches and throws Xerxes' staff right back to him. They then backflip out of the high heavens to meet everyone, making a thoroughly.. Interesting first impression, to say the least.. The angels have a hard time swallowing that a demon - Devoul specifically, kickstarted the creation of their new High angel. Samuel nopes out, Grandefel heavily considers asking for a refund, and the new angel, not seeing anything wrong with any of this, hops down to hell to meet their "Daddy". Devoul is taken aback by the news but welcomes his "child" with open arms. He with Lameras help, proceed to name them Terjey, since God's throne didn't give them a name (which is very unusual). Heaven returns to cleaning up the mess and dealing with the staff shortage and Devoul returns to his work.
And that was everything that happened up to this point, the present day.
The end - for now!

Kyuzo/Phatrong Headcanon Masterpost
I created a post similar to this on my main blog @kyuzan-queen years ago and wanted to give it a refresh!
Included in this post:
Kyuzan biology (does include NSFW elements) Culture: Clothing, Music/Art, Religion, Familial culture, Politics, and life of Phatrong
Kyuzoni biology:
The Kyuzo are an omnivorous (carnivorous-leaning) reptilian species. They sport a mouthful of sharp fangs and a long tongue. While they are reptilian, they are warm blooded and do not lay eggs. Because of Phatrong's inconsistent weather, Kyuzo evolved to be able to maintain and regulate their own body temperatures. Their bodies can accept a shift in temperature of about 20 degrees Fahrenheit before it starts to affect them. They, like cold-blooded reptiles, do enjoy sunning/basking. It's good for their mental health and other bodily processes!
Kyuzos also evolved to carry pregnancies and give live births, also because of the weather. The process of Kyuzan pregnancy is awkward and painful, though, and mortality rates for mothers are quite high.
Kyuzo skin is rough, but not scaly like Trandoshans. Skin colors can range anywhere from green, to yellow, to blue and in between. However, those who are purely yellow or blue have a common pigmentation disorder. Their health is not negatively affected because of this, although people might treat them differently depending on where they live.
All Phatrongi Kyuzo are born with honeycomb eyes, that can be any color. Their eyes tend to glow in the dark, and they can see in the dark better than most humanoids.
Other than having slightly wider hips, cis females are very similar to cis males. Cis females do not have breasts or any noticeable secondary sex traits. While cis males tend to be a bit taller and wider framed, its not uncommon for cis females to have those traits, and vice versa. Intersex Kyuzo are common. Gender is very fluid among the Kyuzo, as parents tend to raise their children without a defined gender; when the child is of age, they get to decided what their gender is. Thus, being trans or nonbinary is prevalent.
The Kyuzo can be up to 7′6″ tall, with most falling in the 6′ to 6′6″ range. They tend to have larger frames than humans but are considerably more agile.
The weakest part of the Kyuzo is their lungs; if there is too much moisture in the air, they can easily contract pneumonia. Too little oxygen in the air and they’ll suffocate. Thus the reason they wear masks off planet.
Kyuzo, beyond that, are an incredibly hearty species that can live upward of three hundred years. After reaching sexual maturity at around young adulthood, their aging slows down. Whatever kills them before old age is usually attributed to their lungs or more physical means. They can contract other diseases, but they are usually nonfatal. Usually.
They have an amazing amount of stamina and can run at speeds that are hard for most humanoids to attain. They, unfortunately, have high pain tolerances and a hard time receiving fatigue messages to the brain, and this generally spells out problems. Kyuzos have been known to run themselves to death - literally. It’s not uncommon for families to find the bodies of missing members hundreds of miles away from where they were last seen. They have to make a very conscious effort to stop, or they won’t.
Kyuzo are much stronger than other humanoids, and can jump higher. Most outsiders confuse them as force sensitives for this reason. Kyuzos can be Force-sensitive, but it's rare to find Kyuzo Jedi.
Kyuzan cocks are long, with a tapered head. Most cocks have ridges or nodes on the top that would expand when inside a Kyuzan pussy. These nodes would help to anchor the cock inside. However, when fucking a near-human, these nodes/ridges tend to only work as extra sensation against the g-spot and a-spot.
Culture:
Clothing:
Most feminine presenting Kyuzo wear headwraps/headdresses. Other than displaying wealth and covering cold heads, there isn’t much of a reason that they wear the headdresses. It’s not required, but most feminine presenting people wear them because they grew up seeing other feminine presenting people wearing them. If one is wealthy, their headdresses will tend to be large and elaborate; it’s not uncommon for one to wear a headdress that is pounds upon pounds of metals, jewels, and cloth. Poorer feminine presenting people generally just wear cloth, or nothing at all.
Kyuzoni clothing is colorful and flowy; people wear very similar clothing, no matter what gender they are. Dresses and skirts are very common, and people will generally go topless. While most colors are okay to use, there are certain colors that are not used in everyday clothing, such as purple, light blue, gold, and white; the Kyuzo place sacred meaning in some colors, so they are only supposed to be used for special events.
Phatrong’s army/police force wear loose, non-restricting clothing with a leather-like armor covering their chests. Their family’s crest is painted upon the armor, in case that the warrior is killed in action. Their clothing is trimmed in gold, which represents bravery and wisdom.
Light blue cloth, specifically headwraps or shirts, signify that a wedding is approaching. Purple is a wedding color, as it signifies prosperity and commitment; wedding clothes are trimmed with silver. White is only used for funerals or births, as it signifies both death and the innocence of new life.
Music/Art:
Music on Phatrong generally revolves around stringed instruments and percussion instruments; they don’t generally listen to music for leisure. Music is only played at festivals, and generally tells the stories of ancient heroes and gods. The Kyuzo also create dances to these story-songs, to make things more dramatic.
Art varies around Phatrong. By the oceans, it’s mostly glass-work like beads and giant stained glass windows. Those Kyuzo that live by the rivers create pottery. Richer families will paint large murals that will cover the walls of their homes. These murals tell tales of their gods, but more often than not they are used almost like photographs that capture small moments in the lives of the family. Jewelry making is also common.
Religion:
The Kyuzo believe in a polytheistic system; the most prominent goddess is Vohaoya (Vo-ha-oy-ah), the mother of the gods and creator of worlds. She represents women, fertility, life, and nature; she is described as having a mostly Kyuzoni appearance, with three eyes and four arms. Often, she is shown in art or statues sitting cross-legged, cradling Phatrong in her lap; her arms are either pointing toward the sky, or she is making gestures with her hands. Her bottom arms are often portrayed as laying flat against her legs with palms upturned - this relays openness. Her left top arm is often resting on the planet, which portrays her protective nature. And her right top arm is often pointed upward, her pointer finger curling in toward her palm while the rest of her fingers are outstretched; this is a symbol of love for the Kyuzo. Her statues are mostly made out of gold, but are painted with the likeness of galaxies; some people swear that the stars shift in the right light.
Other more minor deities include Ixpi, the goddess of peace, and her brother Echting, the god of war. Because the Kyuzo like to believe that they are a peaceful race, Echting is often described as a villain. Ixpi is described as a small, rainbow-colored being that floats rather than walks; besides being the goddess of peace, she is also a patron of happiness, sunrise, and the LGBT community on Phatrong. Echting is also the god of destruction, mayhem, and storms; he is often described as a fiery being too bright to look at. He is surrounded by lightning and is easily angered.
There are temples, wherein these gods can be worshipped. The temples are all large and ornate, made usually of marble or wood. The temples for Vohaoya and Ixpi are run exclusively by priestesses, and though men can worship there, men cannot serve the goddesses. Men can work at the temples of Echting, but not many do, given the god's bad reputation.
Legend has it that Vohaoya created the Warriors of old to protect the gods from those that wished to harm them. They were created from the rich soil, and they were considered divine beings. In the modern era of Phatrong, it is still considered one of the highest honors to be a Warrior.
Life on Phatrong:
The Kyuzo tend to live in large villages or the few small cities around the planet; those who are born into the more obscure villages often never leave the villages.
Villages are generally comprised of thousands of people, all of which are extended family members. Separate families can have more than twenty-five members, all living in one house. Villagers take turns tending to the communal farm, which produces most of their food and fibers for clothing; to supplement the farm, they also forage, hunt, and fish.
Village born Kyuzo are very secluded, only working with neighboring villages to marry off their children. Because of their seclusion, they are the more suspicious and less educated than their city counterparts. Knowledge is passed down through the generations as those born in the villages don’t have access to teachers. At most, they know Kyuzoni and basic math: they are instead taught more practical skills, like sewing, cooking, cleaning, and animal husbandry.
There are two ‘real’ cities on Phatrong, Shutalo and Shouji; Shutalo (Shoo-tah-loh) is the capital city, to the north. Shouji (Show-zhee) is a large industrial city in the southern hemisphere. Any outside trade is limited to these two areas.
Kyuzo that live in the city tend to have smaller families, with about six members at the most. The Kyuzo in the cities have actual jobs, but they don’t make money; they are given items of use instead. (Think of bartering, almost. If they work at a textile store, they are given cloth, which can then be traded for food, etc.) Villages that have produced too much food or are in need of other items will sell food to the city folk.
City Kyuzo have better access to education, although it’s still not the best in the galaxy. Most city Kyuzo learn things like writing, higher levels of math, and an objective look on the planet’s history. Kyuzo that wish to learn beyond that must travel off planet.
It’s extremely difficult for Kyuzos to speak Basic, just because Kyuzoni and Basic are so different. It can take years and years just to get the verbal language down, and that doesn’t count how long it takes for them to learn to read Aurebesh. If the Kyuzo do manage to figure out how to speak Basic, they have thick accents that are often hard to understand, thus making them vulnerable to mockery.
Politics:
Politics on Phatrong are strange as the government actually doesn’t do much. The senate, located in Shutalo, is a group of Kyuzo (and a few Kataline) from various villages and cities that are there to set basic laws so that they can have a seat in the Council of Neutral Systems. Really, the various villages will set their own rules, and as long as it doesn’t interfere with the senate, they’re generally alright with it. (A law would include: Murder is punishable by death. But their definition of murder is loose and up to interpretation.)
Kyuzo children (generally young men but it’s not limited to males) learn to fight from the moment they can understand. The Kyuzo, although a generally ‘peaceful race, train their children to become a quasi-army/police force. The most promising fighters are then shipped off to various academies around Phatrong to train with masters to hone their skills. Many children, as a result of poor quality of life at the academies and dangerous fighting practices, end up dying. It is rare that the academies are punished. The children that make it then must complete a three-year stint as an active warrior; those who passed but are not necessarily promising are sent to protect sacred temples. Those who show a certain level of finesse can continue to climb the ranks until they are high-ranking military officials. They act more like a police force than a military, but they have the training just in case.
Marriage and Family Life:
Kyuzo children are often promised to each other at birth; throughout their childhoods, they get to meet and connect with their betrothed. They generally marry at eighteen, with a week-long festival preceding it. Certain wives -ones that are ordained from birth by priestesses- are considered sacred embodiments of the Goddess Vohaoya, and are limited to bearing five children; superstition says that having too many children will thin out the wife’s existence. Daughters are vitally important to carry on their mother’s bloodline.
Because Kyuzo value large family, a husband will take a wetzandi as well; a wetzandi, or birth maid, is a younger woman who births the rest of a man’s children. A wetzandi is someone who is generally caught bedding out of wedlock, or has committed some other small crime against the goddesses. Unfortunately, they are not valued by most, and are treated as little more than breeding stock.

@hawkasss‘s “Extremely Detailed Character Chart” applied to Tyki Mikk from D Gray Man-
Character Chart
Character’s full name: Tyki Mikk
Reason or meaning of name: “First Man” and “One who is like God?” possibly signifying his deeper connection with the Millenium Earl
Character’s nickname: Tyki-pon by The Millenium Earl
Reason for nickname: Not very clear. Kind of a silly “pet” name or close friend name. He isn’t much of a fan of it and it was only used once.
Birth date: December 25th, same as the main character’s adoption date
Physical appearance
Age: 27
How old does he/she appear: Definitely in his twenties
Weight: 150 lbs (currently)
Height: 6ft 2
Body build: Fairly muscular, but pretty average
Shape of face: Round, kind of a pointed chin
Eye color: Gold like most Noah
Glasses or contacts: When in his human form he wears glasses he found in the trash to hide his eyes and face mole. Doesn’t appear to need them though.
Skin tone: Usually pale, but became more tan after the showdown on the ark. In Noah form (depending on the interpretation) dark tan or gray
Distinguishing marks: Left eye has a tiny mole under it. Also has scars on his body.
Predominant features: Curly hair, large smile
Hair color: Black
Type of hair: Uhh... short? For a while it was long. Mostly straight, but has a bit of a curl to it
Hairstyle: In his Noah form, usually pushed back leaving a large bushel of hair going down the back of his head. When his hair is long, he likes to tie it back or in a side ponytail
Voice: Not too deep, quite sexy for a chain smoker
Overall attractiveness: Very attractive. He was made to be attractive and succeeded both in the story and in the fandom’s eyes
Physical disabilities: Can’t be on his feet for too long after the ark incident
Usual fashion of dress: Tends to dress in scruffy work clothes with overalls when he’s human and in a fancy Victorian suit with a top hat and one of those weird scarf things I forgot the name of, but that’s sometimes replaced by a back tie
Favorite outfit: I’d say he likes the work clothes or just a plain shirt and pants
Jewelry or accessories: Has been seen wearing earrings on several occasions. He also carries a deck of cards to play poker when he wants. His body is also full of robotic, flesh eating butterflies
Personality
Good personality traits: Kind, helpful, gets concerned when someone he knows is in trouble (whether or not they’re his enemy), friendly to everyone, understanding mostly to people’s situations
Bad personality traits: Murderous intent, can snap when provoked the wrong way, able to be a bit too charming when he’s ready to attack, likes to scam people in poker
Mood character is most often in: He’s usually pretty calm and chill. He smiles a lot, but has a pretty chill demeanor. He get bothered by others a lot though so he tends to look bothered a lot too. He is also notoriously known for being confused all the time on many of the story elements that have yet to be explained
Sense of humor: Not really sure. He laughs when he’s nervous or excited. Perhaps when things don’t play out how he thought they would or when there’s irony in a situation
Character’s greatest joy in life: Being able to live a double life as a Noah and a human
Character’s greatest fear: Losing his sense of self to his Noah side probably
Why? What single event would most throw this character’s life into complete turmoil?: If he lost the ability to keep having a human side and no longer live a double life which may have already began to happen
Character is most at ease when: He’s in control, doing things right, understanding a situation, or hanging out with friends
Most ill at ease when: He’s losing or disappointing the Earl or something doesn’t seem safe. Or when people don’t listen to him
Enraged when: He isn’t able to get a task done
Depressed or sad when: He doesn’t know how to help the Earl
Priorities: Serve the Millenium Earl, eat fish, hang with friends, and play poker
Life philosophy: Life is more entertaining when there is two sides to it
If granted one wish, it would be: Probably to maintain control over his Noah side
Why? : Because he likes the ability to be a human too. He doesn’t want to lose that
Character’s soft spot: People missing their friends, people in pain, or needing time to themselves. Also his friend Eez. I also saw him kissing one of his butterflies once. He’s also concerned about the Earl’s feelings (and possibly others too)
Is this soft spot obvious to others?- Road and the Earl both notice his love for humans and wanting to hang with his friends, but mostly just acknowledge it and leave it be. His brother we learn about later doesn’t appear to be very understanding of Tyki’s love for living with street people and not preferring just to be of the upper-class of society.
Greatest strength: His kind heart and ability to observe
Greatest vulnerability or weakness: His obliviousness and anger
Biggest regret: Not killing the main character back when he was supposed to
Minor regret: Losing to the main character in a game of poker where the main character cheated
Biggest accomplishment: Telling the main character not to let the monsters inside of him control him. He has to be the one to show them who he wants to be. Not sure if it helped or he sees it as an accomplishment, but it was some pretty wise words for someone who seemed to be destined to be controlled by warring forces for the rest of his possibly short life.
Minor accomplishment: Getting out of doing Road’s homework that time he was given the task to kill the main character
Past failures he/she would be embarrassed to have people know about: Not killing Allen
Why?- People made fun of him for it and it made him look like a failure
Character’s darkest secret: He lives a double life
Does anyone else know?- It appears the Noah are well aware of it
Goals
Drives and motivations: Being able to see his friends again, protecting the Millenium Earl, poker, and food
Immediate goals: Capture “the Noah reaper”, keep the 14th Noah away from the Earl while figuring out who he is, and find out who Mana is
Long term goals: Keep the Earl safe and find out who the 14th and Mana are while maintaining control
How the character plans to accomplish these goals: Unsure. Probably by interrogation of other characters and more fighting.
How other characters will be affected: The Earl wants to see the 14th and the truth may be the thing that breaks him or the main character.
Past
Hometown: Somewhere in Portugal probably
Type of childhood: Most likely on the streets as an orphan, but we still don’t have any back story
Pets: Unknown
First memory: Unknown
Most important childhood memory: Unknown
Why: We don’t have a backstory yet!!!
Childhood hero: Probably the Millennium Earl. It’s implied he was taken in at a young age
Dream job: Anything as long as there’s food and he’s with his friends
Education: Never went to school, but was supposedly tutored by the Earl and helps with Road’s homework. He did learn how to write somewhere
Religion: Catholic most likely, given the story and who he’s with, but I could be wrong
Finances: Living by minimum Victorian lower-class wage or the Earl’s money (along with probably scammed poker items)
Present
Current location: His brother’s house maybe
Currently living with: Not really sure. Haven’t seen him with his friends, but we have seen him at his brother’s house a lot. His brother might have him trapped there
Pets: His brother has a dog
Religion: Whatever the Noah believe
Occupation: He was a miner with his friends. Not sure if that’s changed.
Finances: Brother or Earl’s money probably
Family
Mother: Unknown Relationship with her: Seriously Unknown
Father: Does the Earl count?
Relationship with him: He likes the Earl. Kind of scared and impressed with him. Occasionally embarrassed by him

Spouse: None Relationship with him/her: Nothing yet
Children: He has a friend who is a child
Relationship with them: Tyki gets along with Teez pretty well, as well as his niece Road. His nephew can get annoying sometimes but he still cares for him.
Other important family members: Yet to be revealed
Favorites
Color: Image color is light blue and he has a light blue shirt so... Light blue? Maybe magenta or purple because of his butterflies, but that might be more of what the Earl likes. Wears a lot of black...

Music: Not sure
Food: Anything he eats with his friends, but he has a particular fondness for fish
Literature: Doesn’t read a lot

Extremely skilled at: Combat, poker, fishing, and murder
Extremely unskilled at: Homework, defeating a 16 year old
Nervous tics: Puts hand on his face, chuckles
Usual body posture: Slups over when he’s relaxed, but actually keeps pretty good posture (probably instilled in him by the Earl and his brother)
Mannerisms: Calm, confidence, easy going
Peculiarities: You feel at ease around him which also makes you feel uneasy because you just know, even though he’s nice or acting nice, he most likely has something up his sleeve.
Traits
Optimist or pessimist?: Optimist. Seems to believe he has the high ground or people will comply to what he offers
Introvert or extrovert? Introvert. Likes to be alone or with a small group of individuals. Also not a fan of people being clingy (he’s like a cat. Don’t go to him, let him come to you)
Daredevil or cautious? Daredevil with a sense of caution. He doesn’t always think things through, but he does keep his guard up mostly. When he lets his guard down, bad things happen
Logical or emotional? Emotional. Worries about peoples feelings and does what makes him excited. Doesn’t always use logic, but he likes a good challenge
Disorderly and messy or methodical and neat? Disorderly I think

Ravnica for Goblins
Exciting Planeswalker Visitors
(Caution: Before we begin, this post is going to be much more opinion-based than previous ones. These are my own homebrew ideas, use them as/if you wish, discard/dismiss them if you prefer.)
Planeswalkers are an integral part of MTG Lore, as well as several of its most iconic characters. Put simply, a Planeswalker is an individual with an inherent gift for traveling between planes, or worlds. The gift does not appear at birth, but is usually triggered by some manner of incredibly emotional (usually traumatizing) event. In addition, each Planeswalker displays a unique aptitude for a particular style of magic; be it plant growth, transformation, becoming transparent, illusions, invulnerability, summoning beasts, structural analysis, setting things on fire, etc. Whatever their specific brand of magic is, it’s usually on a higher level than an ordinary person can hope to achieve.
Planeswalkers, as a general rule, are wanderers by nature. They may have a home plane, or even an adopted home plane, but being able to traverse the multiverse leads many towards lives of constant adventuring/shenanigans. Add in the fact that Planeswalkers cannot bring anyone else with them on these travels (except in very rare cases), and you end up with a special breed of super-powerful magical loner. They show up, make a name for themselves with their big magic, and depart when they feel like it. Did you say, “Instant Adventure”?
Ravnica has a few native Planeswalkers among its citizens; Ral Zarek, Vraska, and Domri Rade. In addition, it has several Planeswalkers who have at some point or another (depending on your timeline) devoted enough time & energy to be effectively considered citizens; Azor, Tezzeret, Kaya, Dack Fayden, Dovin Baan, Gideon Jura, and Jace Beleren. Some of these are currently dead, missing, or magically barred from ever returning. At one point, Ravnica had more Planeswalkers on it at one time than any plane in the multiverse has ever or will ever see. If you are going the War of the Spark direction, good luck. You'll need it and so will your players. For everyone else, which Planeswalkers you choose to include in your campaign (if any), should be based on who will work the best for the story you’re trying to tell. A recommendation; if you find their lore too distracting and complicated, stick to the main beats. A lot of these figures can be boiled down to simple ideas, and you don’t want to bore your party with the entire novel of these usually dramatic/tragic lives. Trust me, the base concepts are enough.
With that in mind, here are four Planeswalkers that I, a random person on the internet, believe would work great for a Ravnica campaign. My choices are not based on who has canonically already spent time in Ravnica, or who would be the most powerful/dangerous to suddenly appear in the city. Several Planeswalkers have their own prior commitments on other planes that are pretty central to their character, and BAMFing them to Ravnica for a quick Bad Guy to take down wouldn’t do them justice. These four characters would slide into various aspects of Ravnica beautifully. These four would be the most exciting visitors to Ravnica.
Ashiok, Dream Render
I don’t think any MTG character could be as good a fit for a Ravnican Guild as Ashiok is for House Dimir. Ashiok is almost literally a walking shadow of secrets and intrigue. Their origins, their age, their motives, their face; hell, their gender is a secret yet unrevealed. Ashiok’s power is creating living beings born of the greatest fears stolen from people’s nightmares. Literally.
It’s like if the Dimir stopped half-assing the art of stealing thoughts and turned it into a weapon of mass destruction. Because even the mightiest of Ravnicans are afraid of things. Ask Niv-Mizzet about the Nephilim sometime, see how quickly he changes the subject. What’s better, for a Guild that prides itself on always having the up & up on everyone, Ashiok is inscrutable. They have no past that can be divined, no secrets that can be stolen, no previous encounters to prepare any for their arrival. Neither Lazav nor Etrata can claim such anonymity, despite their best efforts. Ashiok is a true enigma and a dangerous new weapon for House Dimir.
Ashiok also comes with the ability to create minions and NPCs from out of any PC’s worst nightmares, making encounters a great combination of roleplaying & combat. Fighting them is specifically facing one’s deepest & darkest fears made real. Can you say, “character development”?
Ashiok’s arrival could spread this new magical art to other Dimir Agents for a longer campaign, but it might be best to confine it to Ashiok in order to allow for a cleaner victory. Ashiok is not a fighter, cornering them into a direct confrontation should be enough to make the Nightmare Sculptor run for the hills. The mind is powerful, but also very squishy.
Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded
You know how the Cult of Rakdos are technically Chaotic Evil but generally just a bunch of artsy hedonistic nuisances? Tibalt is to them what a gallon of gasoline would be to a lit stove. Good for fire, bad for everything else. Tibalt is an empath specializing in Pain Magic. Quite literally, he loves hurting people for fun. Drawn to pain like a magnet; physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological, etc, he is sadism personified.
His brief time on Ravnica during War of the Spark was enough to make a strong impression on the Rakdos.
“I like this one’s energy.”
This is because they do not realize how bad Tibalt would be for the Cult. There is a fundamental difference between the Chaotic Evil the Cult practices and the Chaotic Evil Tibalt delights in. The Rakdos have survived 10,000 years by taking in the freaks, the rejects, and the crazies, and giving them a place where they can live out their most depraved hedonistic fantasies. They are the voice of the outsiders bringing all figures of power & authority down a peg. They always punch up, never down. Tibalt is a young man with no home, no friends, no job, and no interests or hobbies beyond inflicting pain in as many people as possible. Tibalt punches everyone. The most important distinction between the two is that the Cult of Rakdos is a culture, a way of life for people to embrace; it might be crazy, but it welcomes & accepts people no matter how insane the world says they are. Tibalt does not care about anyone but himself. Following his example would see the city turned into the largest, bloodiest, and most destructive riot in its history; with Tibalt inciting and sicking every monstrosity he can find onto the city at once. He will burn the Rakdos candle at both ends and leave them to suffer the consequences of his fun. The aftermath being the city in ruins, the Cult wiped from the face of existence, and him moving on to his next project. In short, Tibalt will hurt the Cult of Rakdos as much, if not more, than the rest of Ravnica. Because that’s how he gets his kicks.
The one thing standing in his way will be Rakdos himself. As the single largest diva on the entire plane, Rakdos does not tolerate anyone who tries to steal his spotlight. As a 10,000+ year-old Demon Lord, Rakdos is in a league of his own, and Tibalt is just a hotshit little pain mage with a few tricks. It’s not a fight, it’s either an exit or a curtain call for the Planeswalker. If Rakdos is around, Tibalt’s spree will be very short-lived. If, however, Rakdos is doing his usual thing of hibernating for weeks, months, or years at a time, that’s a different story. Tibalt is good for if your campaign wants to bypass politics & intrigue and go straight to killing Cultists & Demons. He’s bad for anyone he comes in contact with.
Garruk Wildspeaker
In case I haven’t made my contempt for Domri Rade clear, I hold Domri Rade in utter contempt. As a character, as a Planeswalker, and most of all as a Gruul, he’s a failure. Scrawny, weak, gullible, and stupid. My chief grievance with Domri is that he fell short in all the areas the Gruul Clans idolize. He couldn’t survive in the wilderness on his own without his Planeswalker abilities, he couldn’t fight for himself except against weaker opponents or with herds of animals as backup, and he acted on orders from someone else who wasn’t Gruul. For a Guild built on independence and survival of the fittest, he failed both completely.
Garruk is the real deal. Gigantic, strong, savage, and cunning. Here is a man who, on a fundamental level, has embraced animal savagery as a way of life. He lives like a predator on the hunt, an alpha of any pack, and a fierce threat to all who intrude upon his territory. On a plane like Ravnica, where civilization has encroached on the untamed wilds almost completely, Garruk would be a gamechanger. Not only could he feasibly fight Borborygmos for leadership of the Gruul, he could win, and he could unite the Gruul under his howl of reclaiming the wilds from so-called “civilization”. Garruk would bring animal strength to the Gruul in ways they’ve only begun to tap into, and he’d do it in their language. Because Garruk understands the Gruul, and they understand him. They have so much in common with each other that it’s hard to think of any Planeswalker who could be welcomed so readily into a Guild. They would become so much more than rock-smashers and anarchists, they would become Ravnica’s reminder that nature will survive when all traces of society have crumbled away.
As if taking on the city itself wasn’t big enough already, Garruk has also taken to hunting other Planeswalkers, and can actually track them across the Multiverse. Meaning a few high-ranking members of Guilds and even the Living Guildpact have to take his threat seriously. He’s got a particular grudge against necromancers, dislikes talking, and has a special gift with animals of all varieties. All of which provides plenty of ideas to build from. He’s an 8ft tall Human Druid/Barbarian who willingly chooses animal savagery over intellectual reasoning, can there be anyone more perfect for the Gruul?
Did I say Ashiok was the most perfect fit for an MTG character in a Ravnican Guild? Yeah, scratch that. Garruk is.
Sarkhan Vol
Most Planeswalkers have a theme to their abilities. For some, that theme extends to their personalities as well. And then there are Planeswalkers who can be adequately summed up in a single word. For Sarkhan, that word would be “dragons”. Sarkhan sees dragons as nature’s purest & most destructive form, and carries a fascination with them that is perfectly healthy for anything with wings and scales that breathes fire, but generally less healthy for everything & everyone else.
One of the things that makes Ravnica unique is the distinct lack of dragons (emphasis on the plural). Ravnica has a dragon, Niv-Mizzet the Firemind, who made the executive decision thousands of years ago that he alone was sufficient to represent his entire species. Ravnican dragons are considered more intelligent than dragons on other planes, Niv himself being a prime example of this. Around the original signing of the Guildpact, Ravnica’s Godlike dragons were hunted to extinction, with Niv leading the hunt against his own kind. They were not entirely successful in this endeavor, but what few dragons do remain in the present day survive by staying as far off Niv’s radar as possible. Some dragons live by carrying out Niv’s will under constant supervision, or by hunting in the untamed wilds outside the city, or as sideshow attractions for the Rakdos (usually with their wings cut off to prevent escape). They are effectively stripped of anything that would identify them as “dragons” for the sake of their own existence. Since dragons are such a notoriously touchy subject for the Firemind, few have the nerve or fire immunity necessary to speak out against it.
Sarkhan would be horrified. If he thought the extinction of dragons on his home plane of Tarkir was bad, seeing them living like this would infuriate him beyond words. What would Sarkhan do once the initial shock of seeing his spirit animal (in more ways than one) reduced to pitiful scraps of life as lab rats, scared prey, and freak shows wears off? Let’s make it a game! Do you think Sarkhan will:
A. Cry.
B. Throw up.
C. Embrace this as a plane’s reality that he has no right to get involved with.
D. Scream.
E. Set something on fire.
F. Set everything on fire.
G. Bring back the dragons.
H. Burn the city to the ground with dragons.
I. Kill Niv-Mizzet.
J. All the above except “C”.
If you selected Answer “J”, then congratulations! You’ve just won a free trip to a BURNING METROPOLIS! Sarkhan will absolutely make it his life’s goal to bring dragons back to Ravnica and destroy the whole wretched city down to the last brick. How he would do it is up to you, but it’s a solid bet that even if every other Guild treats him like an apocalyptic madman, the Gruul might side with him over some shared beliefs in smashing the city apart with ferocious animal savagery. They tend to lean towards such ideas with uncharacteristic willful compliance. Ravnican dragons are primarily red, with the most prominent breed still remaining being the Utvara Hellkites beyond the city limits.
Oh, and Sarkhan can turn into a dragon, too. Have fun with that.

Video
youtube
Omg I know probably everyone has seen this by now but I just watched it for the first time and... it’s amazing. It is the most accurate to medical drama thing I have ever seen. I have watched it like 6 times now and I’m dying laughing.
So the non-med-people can enjoy this as much as I did:
“We have a 35 year old male- he was at the gym, he got hypertensive”
Hypertensive means high blood pressure. Most people at the gym are doing something strenuous and therefore have blood pressure that would be considered really, really high if they had it at rest. So unless this guy was having chest pain or a bad headache or confusion or some other symptom of hypertension that was causing damage, which in report they should have lead with, in other words... he’s totally fine.
“They were able to monitor everything on his apple watch” / “We’re just going to monitor everything right through the apple watch”
I know they’re referring to a very specific episode of a very specific show but I’m blanking right now on what it was (New Amsterdam, maybe?). Also the apple watch can monitor pulse, sense falls, and record a 1-lead EKG (with an app that can be downloaded separately) that can detect a heart rhythm called sinus rhythm (normal) and atrial fibrillation (generally not life threatening), but nothing else, meaning this does not explain literally anything they talk about in this video.
“He had a blood pulse that was really really high”
They’d just say something like “his heart rate was _____ bpm” which everyone in the room would know how to interpret. Also it’s just a pulse or heart rate, not a “blood pulse”.
“Can we go ahead and start fluids? Let’s go with Jevity 1.5 Cal” / “I’m just gonna run this straight through the IV pump”
Jevity 1.5 Cal is a type of tube feed (that has 1.5 calories per milliliter) that would go through a feeding tube. You cannot put this through an IV (it would kill the patient), and you can’t run it on an IV pump (none of the tubes or connectors can connect to each other as a safety feature... so you don’t accidentally run it through an IV and kill someone).
“We’re gonna need access to his cardiovascular system- I think I’m going to have to put in a peripheral IV right at the bedside since the ORs are busy.”
A peripheral IV is just what you think of as an IV. They’re almost always put in at the bedside (meaning they can be put in right in the patient’s room).
“Does someone want to call family and get consent?”
There’s no indication that this patient cannot give their own consent, and if he was unconscious and consent was implied (we assume you would want to be helped if you were in medical distress so bad you were unconscious), they wouldn’t waste time getting the family’s consent for something as small as an IV. Which was probably already put in by the paramedics on the way there.
“I’ll go ahead and get gowned up”
IVs are a “clean” but not “sterile” procedure, meaning that we don’t need to wear a gown for them (unless there’s another reason we should be wearing one, like contact precautions for infectious disease). Also he is wearing the gown backwards.
“I’m not seeing anything, he’s so hypertensive.”
HYPERtension (high blood pressure) generally does not make a difference in how difficult it is to find veins, in fact, it might make it a little easier. HYPOtension (low blood pressure) does make it harder to find veins to put IVs in.
“If I do this right there is going to be a flash”
A “flash” in the context of an IV start is a small amount of blood that pops into a window in the IV start device, which tells you the IV catheter is in the vein. It is not a literal flash of light. Little misinterpretations of things like this are everywhere in medical fiction.
“It is in the femoral artery, we now have access to his cardiovascular system”
The femoral artery is in the leg and it is not something you put a peripheral IV in. A central line maybe, but that actually would be done in an OR as a sterile procedure.
“The bladder scanner’s reading 0, we need to go ahead and place a foley”
A bladder scanner is used to determine if a patient is keeping urine in their bladder even after they urinate. A reading of 0 is ideal because that means there is no urine in the bladder. You would not place a foley (a catheter that goes in the bladder and continuously drains urine out) for this patient, because they’re voiding fine on their own. Medical dramas misinterpret test results like this all the time, or use tests that don’t make sense (like this guy’s bladder scan for hypertension).
*hooks up foley to suction*
Urine drains out of foleys to gravity, it does not need to be hooked up to suction. When you’re watching medical dramas they do a lot of “hook it up wherever, the audience won’t know the difference” which is what they’re poking fun at here.
“Patient’s still in tachycardia, I need to go ahead and begin mild compressions”
Tachycardia just means a heart rate above 100 (or 120 depending on your hospital). The only thing you’d do for this (assuming sinus tach) is figure out what’s causing it (dehydration, anxiety, pain, fever, etc...) and correct that. If it’s something called supraventricular tachycardia, you might give a drug called adenosine or try having the patient bear down, but you would never start compressions for tachycardia unless the patient’s heart was beating so fast they lost a pulse. And there’s no such thing as “mild compressions”- it’s compressions or no compressions. There’s nothing in between.
“This is Blake on 4b, we’re calling a supercode.”
The term “megacode” is sometimes used (especially in training) to refer to a code where you’re using the whole algorithm for a cardiac arrest to work the patient. There is nothing called a “supercode”, though a lot of times they’ll say random words with Code attached to sound medical in medical dramas but that don’t mean anything.
“We just got an alert he’s in V-fib, we can stop compressions”
V-fib, or ventricular fibrillation, is a pulseless rhythm, and that’s when you would START compressions typically. Also, an apple watch cannot sense v-fib.
“The patient’s desatting- he’s not tolerating room air oxygenation”
This would actually be said “the patient’s desatting (the percentage of the patient’s hemoglobin molecules that have oxygen attached to them are dropping), he’s not tolerating room air” So there’s just a few extra words here that make the character look like he’s never been in a hospital before.
“I think we need to go ahead and intubate with a bag mask”
Intubation (putting a tube down a person’s throat to deliver air/O2 directly into their lungs) is a different thing than oxygenating with a bag valve mask (basically just pushing air into the patient’s lungs without a tube). Then he goes ahead and puts a non-rebreather (type of oxygen mask that doesn’t have anything to do with either of the two things he just mentioned) on the patient upside down. He then hooks the oxygen tubing up to the same suction he attached the foley to earlier.
“The bag’s not inflating all the way- I think I’m going to have to go in manually”
Squeezing the bag on a non-rebreather does nothing useful. Swearsies.
“Good news- his oxygen is coming down and his BP’s going up”
He’s here for... hypertension, right? Like, we want the opposite of that to happen.
*on the phone with x-ray* “The blood in his body is going clockwise???”
This is both not a result you can get, and also not a result you’d get from x-ray anyway, which is something that happens all the time in medical fiction. Random results that don’t make sense from departments they wouldn’t have come from.
“Team- everything we learned in school- throw it out the window, we’ve gotta save this guy!”
No one is that dramatic irl. You’d get laughed out of the room.
“His potassium level is 10.8- we’re gonna go ahead and we’re gonna need more potassium!”
10.8 is an absurdly lethally high amount of potassium. No wonder that guy is in v-fib. You would not put more potassium in this guy. You would be getting the insulin and D50 out of the Pyxis (med machine) and frantically paging anyone with an MD or DO after their name for an order to give it to bring the potassium down.
“Someone get me a banana” *spikes the banana like it’s an IV bag* “I know they didn’t teach us this in school, but it’s all we have”
I feel like that’s referencing the scene in Off the Map where they spike the coconut. Which, turns out, actually a thing. Unlike the banana.
Also they’re in a hospital. There are many forms of potassium in a hospital, which is a misconception you also see a lot in medical fiction- improvisation when it’s completely unnecessary.
“Sir, this may burn a little bit”
Oh, hey, something they got right! Potassium does burn given IV! Just like in medical fiction, they’ll get one little thing bizzarly correct in the midst of all that.
“The apple watch is dying! Does anyone have a charger??”
Another moment of “we definitely don’t need to be improvising this... we’re in a hospital” which I could totally see them doing in a medical drama.
“I think we have to open up his airway- we need an incentive spirometer chest tube”
Like when they were talking about intubating him with the “bag mask” he’s talking about two completely different things. A chest tube is a tube that goes into the chest and drains air or fluid so the lungs can expand fully. An incentive spirometer is a device used to encourage deep breathing in patients (which prevents fluid from building up in the lungs). What’s shown in the video is an incentive spirometer that’s apparently been hooked up to the chest tube. Which is another excellent misinterpretation that I could totally see being made from google research.
“I’m going to go ahead and check for PERRLA” *looks in mouth*
PERRLA is an acronym for an assessment of the pupils and how they react to light and accommodate distance. While you might want to check it in a code, you would not look in the mouth...
“We can cancel the supercode, also there’s no need for the MRSA nasal swab”
In the context of transferring him to the floor instead of the ICU, you genuinely wouldn’t do the nasal swab for MRSA (more necessary in an ICU setting, and many ICUs require one (and put anyone who comes up positive in isolation) to prevent spread of antibiotic resistant infection). HOWEVER, this is another thing that hospital shows do where they misunderstand the importance of certain things, or what would be deliberately ordered versus be a part of a routine order set that wouldn’t even really get mentioned. Like the MRSA swab for the ICU.
Nurse Blake really hit the nail on the head with this. I love it to pieces!
