quarantine headcannons
- Boyd Erica and Isaac are the "time isn't real" household
- Isaac is making an omelette at 4pm and it's simultaneously Erica's brunch, Boyd's dinner and Isaac's midnight snack
- everytime they enter a room with one of the others in it they say good morning, they don't know if it's morning, they don't care, it's all perpetually morning
- Scott, Stiles, Lydia and Allison are all stuck in their three bedroom apartment,
- Scott still hasn't seen all of starwars, (he's stuck inside with Stiles, of course he's seen at least one)
- Scott and Allison have absolutely given each other COVID once or twice...
- Lydia keeps accidentally getting into arguments with strangers on the internet while trying to debunk COVID myths
- it was not long before Stiles joins in.
- they hold stupid competitions like 'how many masks can you fit on one face'
- this ended with an debate on whether bandanas can be considered masks,
- the only way to settle the argument was the call the rest of the pack,,,,,
- this then started a tradition of calling the pack over zoom once a week to play dumb games/among us competitions
- Liam keeps forgetting to take his mask off when he gets home,,,
- after about two days his roomates (Theo, Hayden, Mason and Corey) stopped telling him
- instead they'd see how long he could go without noticing, (he once left it on for four hours)
- mason gets them to play monopoly sometimes
- an abbridged list of crimes committed while playing monopoly
1. Theo blatantly stealing cash from the box (not even trying to hide it)
2. mason skipping liam's turn while Hayden or Theo distracts him
3. Corey giving rent discounts to his boyfriend
4. Corey raising rent for everyone else
5. Hayden making go to jail cards (a piece of scrap paper with the word jail written) and putting them on the top of the chance card pile.
6. Liam calling scott to ask for advice in the middle of his turn.
- they've never actually finished a game
- Erica, Boyd and Isaac all try to learn how to cook
- collectively they can cook enough to survive
- but they don't really know much more than eggs and pasta
- half the time they give up and get frozen pizza
- their apartment is only one bedroom so occasionally one of them will lock themselves in the bathroom to be alone
- problem is it's also a one bathroom apartment.

Newscast #1
" Breaking news coming right out of Los Angeles, California, as police are currently investigating the murder of a local attorney, Michael Hayden, who was seemingly thrown out the window of his Beverly Hills penthouse. Reporter Daniel Stevens has been following the story all day, and is now live with the details tonight. Daniel, would this have any connection to the string of high profile killings from the past several weeks? "
Footage cuts to a man in his early 30's standing some feet away from the active investigation. A crowd of onlookers can be seen just to the side of him. What isn't shown is just how big that crowd actually is. Whatever happened here seems to have brought out a good chunk of LA's most curious.
" Thank you, Charlie. " Daniel responds. " As of now, there is no evidence to connect Hayden's murder to the series of killings that have been popping up over the last two months. However, from talking to several neighbors, it would seem to be that most are under the impression that Hayden might have had some sort of gang-affiliation given the company he would bring over to his home. Whether any of these individuals may have had a hand in the man's demise is anyone's guess. Though, one thing that most investigators seem to agree on is this; whoever may be at fault was clearly trying to send a message given the brazenness of this act. "
What follows next is a series of interviews with different eyewitnesses, all recounting the moment in which they saw Michael Hayden's body get thrown out a window, and land right onto the pavement below. Some note having heard what seemed to be gunshots prior to the crash. Others mention seeing a large man drive off on a motorcycle just a few minutes after. None could make out any distinguishing features other than his stature.
Before you know it, they've wrapped up their main story and gone off into some other bullshit about traffic jams, the weather, or local events occurring this week. However, this doesn't meant that the story won't continue to be talked about. In fact, other outlets seem to have picked up on it given the connection it seems to have with at least eight other slayings that have occurred since the start of the new year; most of them dealing with other poor schmucks who may or may not have had ties to organized crime.
Truthfully, none of this shit is going to matter in the long run. At least not for the man who committed these heinous acts. They were simply jobs to gain favor with certain people who could help him out with those BIG plans of his. And who knows, maybe they could blossom into beautiful friendships. I mean, let's be real here, it's gonna be a major pain in the ass to do anything when you've got several different world governments breathing down your neck.
Oh, well. Such is life when you're the world's most popular boy...
#Blog Event ⚜#The Illest Villain ⚜︎ { Main Verse }#We are SO BACK#So real talk but I was planning this post for a while now and had it play out differently in my head.#But it was getting to the point where I just wasn't able to get it down the way I wanted and that resulted in this.#Which I don't think is bad at all! But I'm definitely gonna try working more on what I want to convey next time I do smth like this.#So for now I hope this works and I hope it's good.

Rating Hayden Christensen Movies pt2
(spoilers)
First Kill
Bruce Willis is such a cunt, even before his "turn". small town cop will small town cop. i loved the weird dynamic with levi and danny??? so pure for a kidnapper. definitely a lot of grey in there
Outcast
Hayden covered in blood >>>>>. i can't decide how racist it is, verrrry white savior. nick cage is so bad in this film i cringe every time he's on screen. also hayden makes out with a teenager :// DNF
American Heist
so good. fucked up older brother who always took care of hayden's character and is now dependent on him and keeps bringing him back into shitty situations cause crime is how he provided for them??? delicious food. more hayden covered in blood >>>>
Vanishing on 7th Street
good! hayden was the highlight of the movie ofc "ur just mad jesus didn't beam you up too" lmao get her. a little too christian for my tastes but whatever it's the rapture.
Shattered Glass
Hayden's performance in this was chilling. His face acting is incredible. whoever wrote the character was so good at pathetic manipulation. amazing.
Virgin Territory
Very cute and wild. I was under the impression there was gonna be porn tho and there wasn't. The director should have committed to the bit. Will watch again when i'm wine drunk.
that's everything available i'm willing to watch. if anyone finds a way to watch Free Fall or Family Passions, lemme know.

I love that someone thinks "Return of the Jedi" is apparently code for "Darth Vader Becomes a Jedi Again" and not, ya know, justice for the people Darth Vader genocided instead.
Because I will remind you, Darth Vader does NOT in fact become a Jedi again. He might be wearing Jedi robes as a ghost, but Lucas himself has said the man was not redeemed at the end just because he does one piddly halfway selfless thing.
I don't CARE if Lucas had an original ending for Vader that wasn't him dying like a bitch, after he wrote out and filmed and released the Prequel Trilogy where Anakin spends two whole films just committing war crime after war crime after war crime, he decided Anakin WAS NOT REDEEMABLE and THAT'S the version I'm going with.
He's not on a redemption arc, he doesn't HAVE a redemption arc, because someone who's done that much bad just doesn't get redeemed because he did one thing halfway right about 30 years later than he should've after spending those 30 years being an oppressive genocidal fascist tyrant.
Enjoy Anakin's ending if you want, enjoy ANAKIN if you want, but wow do I not want to be called "boring" for thinking Anakin deserved to die because he's a whiny pissybaby for his entire fucking life.
Badly done villain redemption arcs are a dime a dozen anyway, maybe YOU'RE the boring one for enjoying them just because you think Hayden Christensen and the black Vader suit are sexually appealing.

CALLING FROM YESTERDAY
June 2003. Nineveh Governate, Iraq.
Desmond Hayden's foot kicked in the wooden door of the shack, sending it flying off its hinges. Violence and tenacity is what carries the day as he tries his rifle on his target, a large rotund officer of the former Iraqi Army. His latest excursion in the human world has him hunting down those who evaded justice, the war-crime committing officials who got away with corruption.
"Anzil, Anzil!"
Hayden's words leave his mouth in Arabic as he commands the man to get down, which he does so. He moves behind him placing a knee on his leg, slinging his rifle he begins to zip tie the man. As he hauls him to his feet, a loud beeping noises emits from the blocky sat-phone on his side. As he walks the man outside with one hand, he answers the call.
The familiar voice of Kisuke Urahara greets him.
"Hayden-san! How goes it? --ahhh, I can hear you're busy. Not to worry, I won't take up too much of your time here-- I'm afraid your service is requested for a far more important mission. I'll need you to prepare for departure as soon as possible. --Don't worry, we'll make sure your leave is granted. You know I wouldn't call unless the fate of the world depended upon it -- which it does -- haha --"
The shouting of the man he has 'arrested' grows annoying as he hands him off to the local authorities. To be fair he isn't sure what justice this man will face, but at this moment Hayden doesn't have the luxury to see it through to the end. Hayden doesn't even have to time ask questions before Kisuke hangs up, leaving much of the details blank.
That's fine, Hayden's operated on less. If Kisuke is contacting him regarding this, then it must be important. He offers a look towards the men placing the target within the back of a Toyota Truck, they make eye contact with him.
"Wadaa’an, Sahibay."
The words leave Hayden's mouth almost bitterly. Because there is a real change he will never return to these lands. However, his duty calls to him from lands faraway and he must answer that call.
He turns to depart, knowing the journey will be short. A terrible uneasiness enters him.

Not to mention the fact that George Lucas change their stance all the time. However, yeah, even my boyfriend doesn’t like Anakin or Luke Skywalker because he thinks they are annoying, but loves Obi-Wan Kenobi. For the most part he does also think the prequels suck because the writers made the Jedi Order so awful, and he thinks Hayden Christensen couldn’t act. I don’t think Christensen was amazing in the prequels, but I think a lot of it came down to bad dialogue and poor script writing, rather than a lack of ability on his part.
To be fair to the Jedi apologists, I don’t really think most of them would actually ever be okay with child abuse, child neglect, committing and/or enabling war crimes and systematic abuse, trafficking children for warfare in an army cult, or telling major lies to get their way “for the greater good” on a regular basis, if at all, in real life. I think it’s just easier for them to let themselves get lost in the badly written fantasy that Star Wars became because both Lucas and many of the writers behind it can’t be objective.
For those of us who have spent a lot of time analyzing fictional, literature, and stories for coherency, growth, meaning, relatability, and symbolism, rather than just surface level entertainment, such as authors, bookworms, English lit majors, and media critics, it’s harder for us to get invested in the story when the characters don’t grow, they don’t get treated fairly, double standards exist, the narrative is inconsistent, and the “heroes” only seem to be able to have that role at all because their enemies are worse.
Plus, while Obi-Wan and Yoda absolutely were deceitful and shady with Luke in the OT films, if you were to ignore the existence of the prequels, I could understand being willing to hand-wave it as a one time “shitty, but justified” decision. If I had never seen the prequels, personally, it still would have always bugged me that Obi-Wan and Yoda never seemed too apologetic about it, but I’d be willing to still let it go. After the prequels, though? No way. The Jedi were the lesser of two evils, not good guys.
Are their crazy Jedi fans on Tumblr and the internet? Sure, but the majority of the ones I’ve met in real life seem to understand that they would suck as people from a real life perspective. They just would rather not think too deeply about how fucked up they are within the confines of a fictional universe written by authors who intend for the audience to view them as “heroes” because they are the lesser of two evils within it.
i think the Jedi-Positive and Jedi-Critical stances can be summed up on whether you value authorial intent or authorial execution.
Most of the Jedi-Positive people I follow quote George Lucas and director commentaries to prove their points, as well as utilize analyses from others at LucasFilm that have to keep the general status quo. It's all based on what Lucas was trying to portray, while ignoring the product in execution.
The Jedi-Critical stance tends to look at the prequel execution, and they question the obvious uncomfortable moments that have real-life parallels to atrocities. They tend to be more Legends fans, whose writers actually delved into the terrifying implications. It's all on criticizing execution while disregarding intent.
Like, take the argument about Jedi children. A Jedi-Positive person would argue that all the children are all given up with consent from their parents; this is what I am sure Lucas was intending to portray. A Jedi-Critical person will look at this and go "wait. how much 'consent' was in this encounter? the government can legally take these kids and have a representative show up to a farmer's house and tell the farmer they can technically say no? that is some bullshit." And there is real-life evidence for this. It's more on the execution.
Or the argument about love. Jedi-Positive people turn to Lucas's interview to show that they really meant it in the Buddhist sense, and if you value intent that works. Jedi-Critical people would argue that the marketing states that the Jedi cannot love, and nothing in the movies states that the Jedi meant non-toxic love when they eschew attachments.
They're both valid positions, but I think a lot of fandom brutality comes from not understanding either view, or demeaning one view in favor of another. It's perfectly acceptable to value one over the other.
#anakin skywalker#darth vader#jedi critical#to be fair I don’t think all Jedi fans are extremists who actually believe the bullshit that the organization practices#a lot of them realize they suck from a real life perspective#but they would rather just enjoy it as the space soap opera fairytale#for those of us who are English lit majors media critics or authors of fiction ourselves#it’s a lot more difficult for us to just ignore the many instances of bad writing for the Jedi of designated heroism#yeah they’re better than the Sith. Luke saved the day by being a good person#and there is a chance that he wouldn’t have been willing to follow along with obi wan and Yoda if they had been honest#but when you actually analyze them beyond just being less terrible than the Sith very little makes them stand out as truly heroic#my problem is that Lucas tried to have it both ways from the time he decided to humanize Vaderkin in esb#and while that was a stroke of genius writing at the time that made esb the best Star Wars movie of the saga#the problem is that both he and Disney writers were always too afraid to fully commit to a story that Jedi were well-meaning but fucked up#Like I think a part of Lucas and Disney really do understand what they were going for when giving the Jedi flaws#but they also want to go back to the roots of what obi-wan and Yoda told Luke the Jedi were in a new Hope#which is why they constantly touch on how deeply flawed they are#but to give them that it would mean acknowledging that their way of life and means are toxic out loud

Woman In The Familiar Pant Suit (2018) Who Eats At Pieology? "I know what I want in return. I want to disappear. It's time for me to retire." Mark leans back from the table, taking the envelope I handed him in his right hand. Opening the metal prong to take out the crime scene photos from inside. "You did this? You, did this to all of them?" "Yes." I reply simply. "There's more to the story but if you want my help I need your help to disappear. Gina clued me in yesterday." I purposefully left out the part about what name the woman in the familiar pant suit called me. If Mark is here meeting me at this restaurant, and happens to be a very good dramatic actor, he only knows who I am, not what I am. But if the horror etched on his face is real, then his nervous system is in shock at seeing what he's only heard as Urban Legend, and he will help me out of fear. They say fear is the greatest motivator. "We can help each other." Mark says placing the photos back in the envelope and on the table. "How long do we have to get started?" He asks while waving to our server for the check. "I'll be ready in two days." I say collecting the envelope and placing it in my favorite canvas tote bag. "I'll have an exclusive contract drawn up for a two year commitment. And I can give you an extra layer of cover too. I hear there's something on the horizon. We'll all be mandated to wear masks. You and your team will be able to fly with that added layer of anonymity." Mark adds as I stand and push my chair in towards the square table. Our meeting here will close this restaurant. Granted Mark will pay Gina and her family extremely well for their sacrifice. If they choose to open up another restaurant, it will be because they love what they do for a living, not for financial need. "So what will this restaurant be next?" I ask. "A Pieology." Mark says signing the check, leaving a tip with six zeros for our young server soon to be without a job because of us. "Who eats Pieology?" I ask. "That's the point." Mark says grinning at his cleverness. Excerpt from Hayden's Chair ©Aquarian Society Publishing All rights reserved.

When Hayden got froze, did his servants just ransack his place? I'd imagine there'd be some people who were quick to act so to say.
That's an interesting question and one I have quite a few thoughts about. :)
Hyden committed the dark-power-unleashing crime that officially put him on his entire kingdom's shit list while he was away from home, traveling in a remote location on what was supposedly official royal business. Because of this, the king got word of what had happened long before anyone else, including Hyden's own house staff. I imagine that his servants were minding their own business, tending the duke's manor while he was away and enjoying some peace and quiet, when they heard a knock at the door and unexpectedly opened it to dozens of royal soldiers. The Hyden manor was suddenly to be treated as a crime scene, and the house staff was shooed out and sent home before any pilfering could occur.
...That's not to say that they didn't pilfer plenty while he was still around, though. On one hand, Hyden had a notorious temper and was not somebody you wanted to cross. On the other hand, in his later years he was rarely sober or attentive enough to notice or care when things disappeared--despite living in a giant, ridiculously lavish manor, I imagine he spent nearly all his time alone in his study or bedroom and rarely even entered most of the other rooms. Due to this combined with the very high staff turnover rate, it was common for disgruntled servants to steal a few little things on their way out, knowing that they would be long gone by the time he figured out anything had gone missing.
As for what happened to the Hyden estate after all the dust had settled... I figure it was repossessed by the king, carved up, and redistributed to other nobles--including Hyden's former "friend", Lord Ambroys De Luxe. After waking up in the “present” time period, Hyden made an effort to read up on what happened while he was out, and discovering that his land, wealth, and other possessions had been given to the dim-witted fellow nobles he'd always looked down on seriously pissed him off. He'd rather everything he ever owned be burned to the ground than given away without his permission.
However, he may take some comfort in the knowledge that none of the beneficiaries of his assets got to enjoy them for very long. The Old Kingdoms collapsed within less than a decade, and with them, the last remnants of the Hyden fortune disappeared into the dirt. ...Well. With one or two exceptions, that is.

Those of us in the SW fandom who make valid criticisms of the merciless moral hypocrisy of Obi-Wan and the other Jedi in regards to those who turn on them: While Anakin, Dooku, and the other fallen Jedi of the prequels were not innocents who deserved no punishment for their crimes against the Jedi Order and Republic at all, the other members of the Jedi Order in which they grew up in really had a lot of nerve in taking it upon themselves to immediately decide to execute them upon finding out they turned on them without asking any questions about why they went dark in the first place, or offering any sort of legal defense trial.
Jedi apologists and Kenobists: You realize that Anakin murdered children, right? What else was Obi-Wan supposed to do after he found out Anakin had killed younglings and participated in the mass murder of the Jedi Order and the Separatists for Sidious? You only expected for Obi-Wan to go easier on Anakin because you want to fuck Hayden Christensen! You hate children!
Those of us who criticize the Jedi and Kenobi: No, we really don’t hate children, and it’s not about wanting to fuck Anakin. It’s about the fact that Obi-Wan and the majority of the adults in Jedi Order of his time were also deeply fucked up in terms of their morality when it came to creating collateral damage, their treatment of children, their treatment of their recruits, their treatment of their enemies, their treatment of the clones, and their treatment of outsiders for their “greater good,” while continuing to claim they were “peacekeepers,” “fighters for democracy,” “revenge is not the Jedi way,” and “fear is the path to the dark side,” in spite of repeatedly breaking those vows throughout the OT and PT movies before Luke came along.
We’re not saying that Padme should have just immediately taken Anakin back, or that Obi Wan the rest of the Jedi should have just completely let him off the hook for committing terrible crimes, and let him continue to keep doing those terrible things. He should have been taken to court. He should have been arrested with proper therapy until he proved he could be trusted and made an effort to make amends. He should have been in a universe that wasn’t so inherently fucked up in terms of its justice and morality.
In real life, he very well would either be facing imprisonment long term or the death penalty as a sentence for his crimes in court.
However, you know who else would be facing serious charges in court of a death penalty or long term imprisonment for multiple instances of brainwashing recruits, child abandonment, abuse, endangerment, and neglect through the recruiting of children as soldiers, assault, oppression of their army, willingly creating collateral damage of innocents, knowingly perpetuating the crimes of a corrupt government head, murder, trying to commit treason against the head of the government, cruel and unusual punishment, and unlawful execution of enemies without reasonable cause for immediate self-defense for their “greater good” in real life, too?
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui Gonn Jinn, Yoda, Mace Windu, and the other adult members of the Jedi Order before its collapse.
Jedi apologists and Kenobists: Bu-but, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and the Jedi are the good guys. The Council and Qui Gonn “had” to recruit preschoolers and children to be soldiers for their Order because “attachments to family and friends are dangerous,” and “Anakin was just an emotionally immature and selfish baby who became excessively terrified of abandonment from loved ones, and grew to hate Obi-Wan, Yoda, and the Jedi for no reason.”
Those of us who make valid criticisms and observations of Obi-Wan and the Jedi Order adults in the prequels and OT films:
Tell that to Luke Skywalker who is able to save the day where his predecessors failed because he had a healthy, normal, and safe childhood with two guardians who raised him to be a good person by just being kind, open-minded, self-aware, and self-confident in his better instincts rather than a good weapon who completely sacrificed himself “for the greater good” of one of those two fucked up space soldier cults.
Throughout the OT movies, Obi-Wan and Yoda literally never atone or express any remorse to Luke Skywalker for deliberately deceiving him, endangering, and manipulating him for their own ends of killing Darth Vader “for the greater good.” Yeah, they say it is all for the “greater good,” and we’re not arguing that a lot of people throughout the galaxy had good reason to hate Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and want him killed for the purposes of justice and safety after all the crimes he committed against many of them over the past two decades, regardless of the mitigating circumstances of heavily compromised agency he was dealing with his whole life that made healthy support extremely limited to nonexistent and escape extremely unsafe, including Luke. We know he’s not a wholly innocent woobie who Luke was obligated to save. We know people had reason to hate him.
However, Obi-Wan and Yoda repeatedly tell Luke to kill just Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, their former student, who they claim to have helped fuck up and drive away in the first place around two decades earlier. They never tell Luke to destroy the Emperor, too. They’re just focused on using him to clean up a mess they helped create with his father and the galaxy at large. No, not intentionally, and sure, they can’t force Anakin to come back to the light, nor are they obligated to do so if he refuses them. Still, the fact that they are using an innocent to try to absolve themselves is wrong. The fact that they get away with defending themselves for it when others repeatedly call them out on their cowardice and shitty treatment of others is even worse.
Anakin is the only one of his surviving predecessors in the OT movies who gets consistently framed as wrong for using that “greater good” line to compartmentalize his guilt and excuse his crimes in regards to Luke and the galaxy at large for Sidious’s and/or his own ends because they are easier to continue perpetuating than doing the right thing by taking personal accountability and ultimately atones for it by selflessly sacrificing his life to save Luke and letting go of decades of anger, guilt, fear, hatred, and self-loathing borne from a life of betrayal and suffering, not all of which was his fault.

"Shiiit, you could have at least waited until I confirmed I wanted to work for you.." she rolled her eyes but in a playful way before continuing to eat "My past is a fucking mess, I hope you only got the basics...like past jobs, crimes commited, medical records...and stuff like that...cause the more personal stuff ..it's a lot and I would much rather not have anyone looking into it.." she had a lot of trauma and she truly hoped it wasn't something the girl could find out, likely it wasn't. The most anyone would know was who she dated in the past and that was it, the details of those relationships were only known by the people involved or anyone Hayden had told about it. "As for the sort of public stuff...I used to do underground boxing...I'd get paid good money to rough people up, no one thought a girl could beat these guys as good as I did...as for jobs...I haven't had many..and the more recent stuff...I was recently in rehab for an eating disorder and drug problem...I refuse to get off alcohol though, gotta have something to indulge in" she also smoked weed and cigarettes but that was not important. She finished eating then burped softly, she had a mixed eating disorder, she could starve herself for almost weeks at a time but if her mental health was bad or something upset her seriously bad she would binge eat, she was happy to finally have her ED in check since it had been her biggest struggle since she was a teen.
Not really sure *CLOSED RP*

Hayden had just returned to Korea, she was dealing with a lot of drama and needed to clear her head. She was sitting in her favorite bar having a drink and reading a book. She looked tired like she hadn't slept in over a week. She was trying to appear calm and collected but in reality, she had been stuck in her head, rereading the same paragraph over and over while sipping her drink. She placed the bookmark and closed her book before sitting back and downing the last of her drink, she sighed heavily and scanned the room for something interesting to focus her mind on, she found nothing of interest then pulled her phone out and proceeded to send some random texts to occupy her mind, she figured she wouldn't get any answers back but it was something to do at least.

Vy: Stop… No, don’t! Emil: Regardless… this doesn’t change the crimes I committed… I deserve to be punished. I am ashamed of my crimes, so I shouldn’t proudly carry the weight of my horns. I deserve to be shamed, and if my shame can help others.
CRACK.
He finally broke the second horn completely off, staggering he fell back, sitting on the floor, Flynn instantly by his side, trying to help. Emil held one hand pressed tight against his forehead as the pain that exploded in his entire body temporarily blinded him. The noises were muffled and slowly things came to normal. He looked for the second horn that had dropped, only to notice Flynn picking it up, holding it towards Vy. If this was Emil’s choice, then he would stand by him.
Emil: Maybe… Can it help Arlene and Eltanin too? Maybe your husband? -he pointed a shaky hand at the horn- Flynn: Can it help uncle Vy? -he looked at Emil.- And you, how do I help you?
He caught his dad standing in the doorway watching them all with a questioning look. They all remembered what Vy had told them several times; that dragon horns had the power of healing, and that was why they had harvested theirs that time he was taken.
Chris: I’ll get alcohol from your work Vy.
The way Emil explained it told him they would need the right type of it, the right type being the one they used in hospitals, with that Chris was gone, leaving Flynn sitting next to Emil with the horn still in his hand, it weighed more than he had expected somehow. Hayle moved past, putting Hayden in a chair next to Fannars bed so that the boy had both their parents present. Haydens tired eyes met his son’s which made a small smile form for both.
Hayden: You look worse than me for once. Fannar: I do try hard.. -they almost chuckled but it ended in a cough.- I’m sorry.. Hayden: You have nothing to say sorry for.. -he looked at Vy.- Will the horns help?
He gave Emil a grateful look, he remembered how much it had hurt Vy to have his horns harvested, he could only imagine how bad it was to rip them out. He also noted Chris reappearing several bottles in hand.
Hayden: What can I do? I may not be good for much, but I can hold someone’s hand.
As a response to his father's word, Fannar lifted his hand just high enough for his father to hold it. He had always been close with his dad, so holding his hand had its own comfort in that bond that was between them.

Pedro Almodóvar: The Classic Movie Fan By Raquel Stecher
Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar is one of the most celebrated filmmakers working today. His bold films feature quirky characters, vibrant colors, especially shades of red, and offer viewers frank explorations on sexuality, identity, family and relationships. Almodóvar is involved in every aspect of the filmmaking process including writing, directing and casting, and he has input in other aspects including set design, costumes and cinematography. His films are uniquely his vision.
Almodóvar has a lifelong love of film and it shows in his work. In his early days he was influenced by the work of the great Spanish directors Luis Buñuel and Luis García Berlanga. He also drew inspiration from directors like Billy Wilder, Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Elia Kazan, Fritz Lang, Ingmar Bergman, Michael Antonini, Francois Truffaut and many others. Almodóvar was mostly self-taught and learned filmmaking from watching the masters. The characters in Almodóvar’s films are extensions of himself; they too are moviegoers who love and appreciate the art form. You can see this in subtle clues in his films, like posters on a wall, DVDs stacked on a table or what the characters are watching on television. Then there are the more obvious examples including classic film clips and homages to iconic movie scenes. And for classic movie fans, watching Almodóvar’s films can be like a fun treasure hunt seeking out all the references to familiar favorites.
In Almodóvar’s early works, a well-placed poster can illuminate an aspect of the character’s personality. For example, in KIKA (’93), a deranged psychologist has classic horror movie posters in her apartment including from THE SADIST (’63) and CIRCUS OF HORRORS (’60). Almodóvar was particularly inspired by classic movies with strong female leads. In his early film PEPI, LUCI, BOM AND OTHER GIRLS LIKE MOM (’80), Almodóvar took inspiration from George Cukor’s THE WOMEN (’39) to tell the story of a trio of women living during the cultural revolution of Madrid called La Movida Madrileña.
ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER‘s (’99) title comes from Bette Davis’ comeback classic ALL ABOUT EVE (’50). In the very first scene, a mother and son sit down to watch the film on television. It’s announced in Spanish as “Eve Unveiled,” something the characters discuss because the title should have been “Todo Sobre Eva”. Later, in the film, we see a Davis poster pinned to a dressing room wall and the film ends with a note celebrating actresses and mothers and noting Davis, Gena Rowlands and Romy Schneider. Classic actresses come to the forefront in BROKEN EMBRACES (2009) where Penelope Cruz is the mistress of a wealthy magnate who dreams of becoming a star. When she gets the plum role of lead actress in a feature film, she’s made over several times to look like Goldie Hawn, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
One of Almodóvar’s most celebrated works, WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN (’88), starts with a scene from JOHNNY GUITAR (’54). Two actors are dubbing Joan Crawford and Sterling Hayden in Spanish. We learn that the actors, much like Hayden and Crawford in the film, have a tempestuous relationship. Almodóvar’s film got the attention of American audiences and earned a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. And perhaps more importantly for Almodóvar, it got him a meeting with his hero Billy Wilder who greatly admired the up-and-coming filmmaker’s work. In this film, Almodóvar also pays tribute to one of his favorite directors: Alfred Hitchcock. In one scene, Carmen Maura sits on a park bench and watches a young woman dancing alone in her apartment, a clear reference to Miss Torso from REAR WINDOW (’54). In KIKA, a voyeur with a long-focus lens witnesses a crime being perpetrated against a woman, much like Jimmy Stewart in Hitchcock’s film.
As Almodóvar’s films became more and more autobiographical, he began to add more clues to his lifelong love of cinema. Characters are often seen watching some of Almodóvar’s favorite films on television. In VOLVER (2006), a dead mother returns to her community and watches BELLISSIMA (’51) while caring for a dying woman. In TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN! (’89), Antonio Banderas kidnaps Victoria Abril, ties her up and leaves her to watch NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (’68). Movie watching becomes an important plot device in later films. In BAD EDUCATION (2004), Gael Garcia Bernal and Lluis Homar have just committed a crime and attend a film noir festival to decompress and create an alibi for their whereabouts. As they leave the cinema, Homar says, “it’s as if the films were talking about us” and the camera pauses on three posters: DOUBLE INDEMNITY (’44), LA BETE HUMAINE (’38) and THERESE RAQUIN (’53).
In his most autobiographical film to date, PAIN AND GLORY (2019), Almodóvar shares his journey in becoming a filmmaker, his early love of classic film and his struggles with the creative process. The young Salvador, played by Asier Flores, collects classic film star cards in a beautiful scrapbook. His collection includes Betty Hutton, Piper Laurie, Loretta Young, Donna Reed, Kirk Douglas, Tyrone Power and Robert Taylor. In the present, filmmaker Salvador, played by Antonio Banderas, is working on a screenplay called La Addiccion. His actor Alberto plays out the scenes, where he projects SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS (’61) and NIAGARA (’53) on a screen and shares a soliloquy about watching water-themed movies as a child. And at the cinema where the filmmaker’s latest film is being screened, the audience can spot a poster of THE EXECUTIONER (’63), which is one of Almodovar’s favorite films.
There is something gratifying about watching a movie made by someone who truly loves and appreciates classic film. Pedro Almodóvar’s work is incredibly contemporary but extends an invitation to those of us who love the old in order to embrace the new.

hey kanhatu are you guys good!? What happened??
OH MAN. delighted that i got an ask like this. i will really try to be as brief and relevant as possible but i doubt this will be brief honestly 😭ok SO
background: one of our party members, Clementine (Clem), was stuck in shady shit when she was younger, and assassinated someone she didn't want to. this is years before meeting the party. cut to the party, who has been going on lots of adventures and arguably getting into more and more trouble as time goes on. then, Clem eventually attempts (and fails) to assassinate the king for her patron, Catalyst. Clem is now an extremely wanted criminal and the party is too by association.
the party is now constantly hiding and is also sought after by a figure known as The Reverend, who demands Clem be put to justice for a crime irrelevant to the king, an older crime she committed. Clem turns herself in after The Reverend kills a party member, Tanya, and threatens to kill more if Clem doesn't submit. Clem's patron Catalyst apologizes to Clem for the trouble and promises them a favor.
Tanya, the killed party member, is resurrected with the use of a magical sword, and the party goes on to eventually find the town that Clem is held captive in, where she is about to be executed. using the remaining power in the sword, Clem asks for her favor from Catalyst to wish for the party's names to be cleared. this specific wish results in the entire party's adventures being rewritten, and all the memories of our time together fading almost instantly. everyone disappears from the scene. we have no idea what happened to the party members Dawn, Hayden, Tanya, and Paloma. the only characters we know a little about the current whereabouts of are Clem and Sully.
brief backstory about Sully: years before meeting the party, he was a fairly known religious figure, who was murdered in his sleep one night (and was later resurrected by his new patron).
cut to the current events, after Clem wishes for their names to be cleared: we flash back to years ago, when Clem assassinated the person she was pushed to assassinate; surprise! it was Sully. but in order to clear their name, Clem's wish has made it so she's no longer killed Sully, and Sully wakes up as if from a bad dream. Clem wakes up in...some kind of...circle? and it. seems like she may be dead. i don't think we fully know yet.
sorry. the shorter answer to your question was no
#ask#anonymous#kanhatu#dnd blogging#kanhatu is a fucking game. i am always saying this#also the crime the reverend was talking about was killing sully. i dont know if that was clear gkdfjgk sorry#ALSO. The Abigail Rogers Multiverse
The Comics
To start understanding how the character of Abigail Rogers exists and came to be throughout the different movies, you first need to look at her comic book origins. Of course comic books are complicated, but this is a summary of the main storylines and comic book runs I think Abby would have had.
The character was first introduced as a nameless ally to Spider-Man who offered to help him when a threat in New York City started getting out of hand. In her first conversation with the webslinger, she said that she had been in the city for a while, but that she had never been spotted because she was hard to pin down, just like a mirage. She never removed her mask or her costume and she disappeared again after helping Spider-Man take down the threat. He started referring to her as The Mirage, in reference to their first conversation, and tried to find her again to no avail. Her character was initially meant to be a one-time thing, introduced in that storyline just to help get Spider-Man out of trouble.
After her positive reception, Mirage is reworked and given an actual storyline. The character is introduced as the biological daughter of Steve Rogers. There is no reference to Mirage until the very end of her introduction and the story focuses primarily on her life as Abby Rogers. She was born, kidnapped as a baby, and then given powerful abilities through experimentation. The story ends with her being found by her father, returning to New York, and donning the familiar costume of Mirage. The new character of Abby Rogers is then used in a few different storylines, sometimes fighting alongside her father or the Avengers, and sometimes fighting alone. Her origins in a Spider-Man comic are initially ignored in favor of getting her into some big, fun comic book storylines.
Eventually, Abby Rogers is brought back into more specific Spider-Man comics and storylines when she’s introduced in a new run as Peter Parker’s college classmate. Her identity as Steve Rogers’ daughter remains, but is not touched on too much. It’s in this storyline that the two characters develop a romantic relationship for the first time. Mirage and Spider-Man become allies and Abby Rogers and Peter Parker are romantically involved in numerous storylines from this point forward.
An individual, entirely unrelated character called Abigail Hayden is previously introduced in an older run as Peter Parker’s high school classmate. She is a relatively small character with little to no backstory, but she does develop a romantic relationship with Peter Parker. She is described as intelligent and often expresses interest in attending a good university. In one conversation with Peter, she also mentions her foster parents, which indicates that she doesn’t live with her biological family. However, the reasons for this are never touched on. Her older sister’s existence is also seen in a panel with paperwork labeled “Evelyn Hayden.”
A new comic storyline retcons the characters of both Abigail Hayden and Abby Rogers, effectively combining them into one new character. Abigail Hayden was taken as a baby and placed in a HYDRA laboratory where she became a test subject. Gifted with powerful abilities, she became The Ghost Agent and was forced to commit hundreds of thousands of crimes for HYDRA. As a young teen, she escaped HYDRA and tried to return to a normal life. Steve Rogers, who had been out of the ice for a few years at this point, heard about the escape of a powerful HYDRA weapon. He found the girl, took to her immediately, and later adopted her. Now Abigail Rogers, the character is introduced yet again as Peter Parker’s classmate and high school sweetheart. Her identity of Mirage is also introduced again, this time as the teen’s own creation to work alongside Spider-Man. Their relationship continues into college which the two characters attend together, and even further into the future.
The Original Trilogy
Peter’s love interest in these movies is a character by the name of Abigail Hayden. This character is loosely based on the old, original version of the character named Abigail Hayden from the comics. The Abigail in these movies is a very intelligent student who balances school and an internship at Oscorp. After losing her parents as a young teen in a car crash, she’s placed in the foster system because she has no other family members who can take her in. She first meets Peter when he takes pictures of the Midtown science club for the school newspaper and they become friendly acquaintances. They eventually become friends and later develop feelings for each other, which culminate in a romantic relationship. Outside of her relationship with Peter, she deals with aging out of the foster system, paying for college, and accomplishing her educational goals.
The Amazing Spider-Man
A character by the name of Abigail Hayden is once again used in these movies, although the character is altered slightly in the reboot and goes by the name AJ. This version of Abigail is still very intelligent, but is far less studious than the previous iteration of her. She has a tendency to slack off and get into trouble, something that the school counselor claims is a result of her turbulent childhood. She’s a foster kid, taken from her parents at a young age and bounced between homes for her entire life. Her parents have failed time after time to get custody of her and she’s on the verge of aging out of the system. She gets into hacking and first meets Peter when the two are in detention together. They become friends, AJ gains feelings for him, and the two of them eventually get into a relationship. Despite reservations, AJ does eventually end up going to college to study computer science.
The MCU
The character used in the MCU is based on the most modern iteration from the comic books. She is the adoptive daughter of Steve Rogers, born Abigail Hayden and later named Abigail Rogers when she is adopted. Although she more closely follows that version of the character from the comics, some changes are still made. She is not kidnapped as a child, nor was she born many years after Steve Rogers disappeared into the ice. Instead, she was born in Steve Rogers’ time and even met the man when he became Captain America. It was her uncle that made her into a HYDRA experiment and she never escaped, but was instead placed into cryostasis and lost to time. Later found by SHIELD, she was forced to work missions for them as a condition of her supposed arrest. When Steve Rogers found out, he demanded her release, became her legal guardian, and later adopted her. It’s at this point that she meets and falls in love with Peter Parker who she eventually works alongside with, him as Spider-Man and her as Mirage.
