Fannar listened to Mal talk, holding their mom's hand to stop him from doing more than the customary hissing that he always did when something they found threatening was about. Oddly, they did not find Mal threatening. Their eyes fell on the flowers, there was so much here they would need to learn as well, then they looked back at Mal.

Fannar: I am Fannar Ward, or just Fan for short. -they shook Mal's hand- And the hissing one is my mom, Yvreon, but again for short just Vy. Slightly protective of me specially after last time I was on this side.

Mal: -he scoffs- I know. My son did an action in vain, took your heart, to try and stop hunters from hunting us. All he managed was to stop his brother. 

Fannar: He managed to send me back home as well, so there is that.

Mal: Which he got you from. 

Vy: At least you know what he did wrong.

They looked over at their mom, hoping to defuse the tension at least a little. They did remember Arlo mentioning their dad worked with flowers, but the farmer was new to them

Arlo: Don’t be afraid.

He walked to the two of them and unbuttoned their shirts. Arlo’s eyes shone and his left hand turned into a claw and he placed it inside the box. He started chanting words in a foreign language as he moved the claw to Emil’s chest and cut a line right over the scar of his heart. Emil flinched and tried to pull back, but the gentle squeeze from Flynn stalled them.

Light erupted from the cut as Arlo pulled that light into a line, like it was blood. He drove the line into the box and then repeated the process to Flynn’s chest, who also flinched when he felt the cut. Warmth and electricity filled them both and they gasped. Arlo pulled on the two golden lines, as if he was sewing them together, until he closed the box, the two lines connecting Emil’s to Flynn’s chest, pulsing with the quick pace of their heart.

Arlo: Mah’Vala. Repeat and hold both your hands… Then, when you feel both your heart beats, kiss to seal the Arys.

Emil’s worried glance fell on Flynn.

Emil: Mah’Vala. Flynn: Mah’Vala.

And as Arlo had said, they felt the heartbeat flow to the two of them in unison, beating in their head. And Emil kissed Flynn. The line burst, leaving particles of gold in the air. The golden cut on their chest healing, leaving a golden burst of light where the cut was, a star-shaped shiny scar.

Flynn and Emil remained silent, as the awareness of each other befell them. They could feel one another, intimately, inside their very chest. Arlo stepped back, putting the box away, his eyes and hand turning to normal, as forlorn eyes fell over the box.

Autumnal love. 🎶

It was much like they remembered from the pictures that Hayle and Chris had shown them from their wedding, just different colors on the flowers and of course, they could only guess chairs and such had been changed since then. And of course, the food caterer was someone else as it would seem Carl’s place was now the family wedding caterer. 

Flynn: Vy is waiting for you and the little ones over there, and my dad, Fan and Arlo will help me out. Lucas has said he will do the greeting as people come. -he kissed his dragon on the cheek.- see you in a little. 

Tyvan and Rylan had already found their “Gramma Vy” so Emil just smiled giving Flynn a quick kiss back before he went to find all three of them and get ready. Flynn knew his dad would be the best to help keep him calm, Fannar being his best man, and well Arlo enjoyed the company of his father as well. 

Vy: I agree, mommy looks very pretty.

They smile at the two little ones who he has helped into their suits, while Emil had been busy putting on their own. There had been so many weddings lately that they couldn’t help being reminded once again of their own. 

Emil: I saw pictures from your wedding, it looked amazing Vy: It really was. Hayden pulled out all the stops that day, so to say. Emil: Thank you. Vy: For what? Emil: For helping today, and allowing me into the family.

Kneeling in front of his love who was sitting on the bathtub side, he put his hands on his arms. They were warm, much too warm for comfort and a part of him wanted to just put him into the cold water that he could see was already drawn. 

Vy: Talk to me? Hayden: Nothing you have not heard before.. I’m sorry. Vy: Then tell me again. Get it off your chest, like we always tell Arlo and our little star, talk.

Hayden sighed, he had said these exact words to Arlo several times, and to Fannar, yet he knew how hard it was sometimes. 

Hayden: I just want to be normal, healthy, be able to go watch my “grandson” skate and do well without this happening afterward. Even with all we have done, and been through, I don't want to feel like this, and have you feel it. Vy: I know my love, I know. I wish I could promise you it would be like that one day, but I can't.

He pulled Hayden into his arms, just holding him, letting him cry. He could still only imagine how it felt to always have to have it in the back of his mind. That if he did something, his body would act up, even with the healing of the heart. Of course now, he was almost normal, which Vy knew made those times when it hit, much harder for him to handle. 

They sat quietly for a while, until Hayden sat next to him. Vy knew that sometimes, his loved one just needed a little bit of time to sort his thoughts, to not be pushed.

It was only a couple days later that Vy stood at work, looking out the window. So much had happened, the kids were all growing up, again, and once more before he was ready, he would have to see Ibuki and Kaylin also leave the nest. Luckily, he knew they were already talking about taking in some new kids from the orphanage, but it was always a bit sad to let them go.

But it was another feeling that pulled most of his attention. Now that Arlo had managed to make their heartlight connection work as it had once done, he could feel it, the drain, the pain, and the sadness from his loved one. It had taken them both a little while to get used to it again as of course Hayden’s body had protested slightly when the link was back, and with that also the healing power. 

Walking back and checking his schedule, he decided to ask if one of his interns could handle his last patient today, so he could head home and see what was happening. It was a routine appointment, so he knew his intern was more than capable.

Stepping inside the house, he noticed Hayle, who nodded, and just said bathroom which he did not find surprising. If Hayden was feeling bad, he often took help from a cold bath. Nodding he climbed the stairs and made his way to the bathroom. 

Vy: Bad day? There was a long quiet, where all he heard was Hayden breathing. He could feel the internal turmoil, he knew all too well what this feeling meant.

Emil: I hate waiting for the judges. Flynn: Me too.  River: Me three. 

There was a chuckle from the kids, although they all agreed that they could hurry up. There were more teams to go after, so the final wait to know would still be a while, but knowing their score would help.

Tyvan: Another season and personal best! Ams: That is impressive.

There was a roar in the crowds as they were firmly put in first place for now and the wait to know the end result started. 

Almost three hours later, they were standing outside waiting for the two of them. The ceremony was done, and they should be out soon enough. Emil holding Flynn’s hand, excited to hear what they thought of it all. As the two excited and made their way over, a big smile was on both their faces.
