I just wanna say how much they NEED to nail Yuamu’s arc after losing Yuhi. Like if I don’t get satisfying character development from her after that events I’m gonna be so sad fr </3

Because this set up was PERFECT.

Make her realise how the amount she was trying to save and preserve the future, she ended up neglecting the present and all the people she loved.

Honestly, just really excited what comes of her character in this new arc. Will she stay by her brother’s side like he was doing when she was trying to become Otes or will she finally return to UTS??

I have so many feelings about luo bingge hes supposed to be the ultimate power fantasy clearly to the extent that even he does not recognize how fundamentally empty his life has become. he was very open-hearted until Shen Qingqiu pushed him into the Abyss, at which point he reforged his fundamental worldview into the same one Shen Qingqiu ascribes to, which is: there are two types of people in the world, those who get hurt and those who do the hurting (optional type 3: women and children who are mostly innocent of either, by virtue of having someone do and/or receive the hurt on their behalf), and the only way to move from the first category is to place yourself firmly in the second. he does, I think, try to make himself better than SQQ, by maintaining his position only by hurting people who have already done harm (for whatever his threshold of "harm" is), but he definitely does not reject the worldview. because that would require him to be vulnerable! and look where that fucking got him the last time he tried it! it got him in the Abyss is where it got him!

which does not leave room for things like "love" or "care", but does ensure that he is extremely secure in his position (power fantasy) and that he will always have people to do whatever he wants (power fantasy) and that he will have every single one of his physical needs taken care of (power fantasy) and that because he is the most powerful person in the entire world, he will never be hurt again (power fantasyyyyyyy). which, given the entirety of his childhood and young adulthood, is understandable! I dont think he's ever been able to dream something more for himself than "I'm warm and I have enough to eat and no one hurts me." I doubt he thinks there is anything more than that. from all possible angles he has more than achieved his wildest dreams. what could there possibly be to be unhappy about? If he's discontent, that's just because he's gone too long without a conquest (a conquest of what type? take your pick).

But he is never satisfied with what he has, and he has no one who will treat him as a person to be loved rather than a lord to be appeased. which is by design! someone who treats him like a person is someone who is close enough to hurt him, and as long as there is some new power to be grabbed there is some avenue by which he is not yet all powerful, and therefore some way in which he can still be hurt.

which means that meeting SY!SQQ shakes the very foundations of his worldview, because here is a Shizun who cared for him. Hurt him, yes - in most of the ways that his own SQQ hurt him - but cared for him nonetheless, and is currently trying his best to care for him entirely and hurt him not at all, and who expects the same of Luo Bingge Binghe. This world's SQQ rejected the premise that avoiding harm necessitates harming others, and this world's (weak! vulnerable!) LBH also rejected this premise and somehow managed to live by it? symbolized very blatantly by having somehow managed to hold on to his mother's guanyin pendant. and this LBH is satisfied, he's happy despite having almost nothing at all, only one spouse and not even a quarter of the treasures LBG has and he fucking shattered Xin Mo, he hasnt taken out hardly any powerful enemies and there are still people in the world who can hurt him and somehow he's the one who got the genuine security and the loving relationship even though he's done nothing at all to deserve it -

And confronting all of that is going to require he internalizes that he did not deserve what SQQ did to him, and that the relations of power he thinks of as an immutable foundation to the world are not only not inherent but are actually wrong, and that all the security and safety he has acquired over his lifetime will not be what actually makes him happy, and actually being happy requires taking on the risk that he will be hurt again. which has got to be terrifying to him, but theres no way he can un-pop that bubble and go back to not remembering how it feels to receive a loving touch.

Marco knows there a question lying beneath the rumble of Ace’s voice, whenever he gets smoky in tone

He tries not to let it effect him anymore, but Ace has a talent for skinning you when you weren’t fully aware of it, and by the time you did you were nothing but meat and bone before him

“What can I do for you?” Marco bites first and Ace circles around his desk, predacious in movement and his expression convincingly schooled into nonchalance

“Mm. Not for me, for Jude,” Ace names one of Marco’s logistics officers, nice guy, bit of a temper and drinking problem— something that made them butt heads on occasion.

Marco knows what this is about now, its about shore leave so he says so, Ace arches an eyebrow impressed as always at Marco’s talent for remembering the myriad of things he must.

“And what does he want you to do about it ?” Marco drops his pen into the clawfooted inkwell Ace had purposefully forged with the help of Jozu and some Wano elbow grease and gifted to him on his last birthday, its brass and apparently modeled after his chicken feet.

“Dunno honestly. He seemed pretty certain i could help him get it approved.” Ace hesitates on the corner of Marco’s deck, amused to have been caught right away.

“So he sent a messenger. Did he have anything else he wanted you to say to me?” Marco murmurs, plays into Ace’s game and lowers his voice as the candle on his desk sputters, sparks once

“Hmmmm.” Ace perches on the corner he’s been trapped into and pretends to think but the candle gives away his emotions and Marco loves him immensely.

“He did say he was having regrets over what he said to you last.” Ace reaches into his pocket and tugs out a scrubby piece of parchment. A report, on behavioural misconduct.

Marco skims it and then tosses it into the open bin beside his desk with a delicate sniff. Ace says nothing but the warmth of his existence and the intimacy of his nearness is rather distracting.

“He also says he will be covering for Kells and Lee next month if he can take shore. wanna bet he’s got a lover?” Ace leans in, smile edging charming and voice hotter.

“Give it here.” Marco says after another moment of deliberation, Ace’s smile turns just a tad bit smug and tugs out the second roll of parchment from his pocket, this time much more carefully treated and Marco scans the form before signing off on it with lazy flourish

“Tell Jude—“

“Tell him yourself,” Ace cuts over his boyfriend, he doesn’t know the ins and outs of their situation, only what he’s heard through his own division. Apparently it had been quite the spectacle and both parties had ended up saying some choice things. Its almost tragic that Ace had been away on a mission to outer territories and missed the drama. It’s difficult to piss Marco off, Ace would know.

“Commander.” Ace purrs, persuasive and cunning both, reminding Marco of his position and damn him this has been going on long enough hasnt it

“Where is he?” Marco looks anywhere but the shadows blending across Ace’s skin.

“Orlop.”

“Great. I’ll run it down to him later.”

“You’re the best,” Ace informs him, always the supportive little cheerleader in his life, Marco wishes the logia would extend that positivity out towards himself.

Shifting in preparation to get up and leave Ace tips his hat at Marco who scoffs and snags him around the wrist.

“Going somewhere?” Marco did not intend to bring out the bass but his voice drops hard and Ace flusters immediately.

“Not anymore?” Ace replies, rhetoric, but doesnt resist when Marco tugs him over to coax the younger man close. Ace trips into his lap with a distinct lack of grace, but its cute nonetheless

“You really need to stop taking on all these extra requests.” Marco pretends to scold him and Ace scowls at him briefly

“And miss out on seeing you?” Follows up the petulance with a quick kiss to Marco’s nose, brushes his lips against his cheekbone and into the scruffiness of his beard

“Oh, is that what this was really about”

“Duh?” Ace slides his hot palms beneath the folds of Marco’s sash.

The form can wait, Marco is a busy man after all.

Ace rolling the R in Marco’s name whenever he wants something from him, practically purrs out his name

Its why the first division always always come to Ace with special requests and why he’s always so happy to help because of two things

will only be called "lady magg-lynn" by everyone. never any nicknames or shortened version. she worked hard to get the title of lady and she will be addressed as such, and always makes sure people know this

tiramisu (mochis mom)'s best friend from the good ol days!! started as enemies/rivals and became best of friends over the years!! much like mochi and murda or mochi and the rat witch.

but theyre very much the roast each other kind of best friends and constantly give each other shit LMFAO!! tiramisu haggles her about looking old and not being able to find a man and lady magg-lynn hassles tiramisu about her small pathetic little shop and being poor and they love each other very much

magg-lynn is VERY rich. theoretically, any witch CAN be rich since they can just magic up some money, but magg-lynn actully organically worked for all her money. no one knows how, but everyone suspects she had some shady dealings with like. organized crime or some shit. dont ask her about it she'll just laugh it off

shes the rich auntie who is overly doting to her friends kids. shes always pinching mochi (and limes. and cocos and oscars) cheeks and going "oooh so cute!!" and giving them candy

her guild is no longer active as a fighting/protective force, but nonetheless she (as mentioned in other posts) took in ikasumi and made her a member of her guild for work purposes. forging signatures and witches seals with the ink mages magic is appearently something she needs

(also mentioned before) she sent ikasumi on a mini-mission to spy on mochi (everyone has their eye on the new cat witch. need to get all the tea)

i dont think she would nessecarily want to take the cat witches power since tiramisu is her friend but.,...i think she would think about it

owns a fairly hole-in-the-wall yet well known shop in the central kingdoms capitol called "Magg-Lynn's Antiques"

masqurades as a normal antique shop but she hardly ever sells anything. its more of a collection.

much like how limes baseball bat or cocos shoes has special powers, her antique shop collects items like these that have been lost, abandoned, stolen, or otherwise given away throughout history. the owner or guild may no longer remain but the magic does, so she collects these things!!

that being said, it can also be thought of as a sort of resource if we're thinking about this in the RPG sense again. imagine a shop you could go to where you could "borrow" a special item you need for a quest that has special properties. thats essentially what magg-lynns antiques are. in a way shes kind of like sulluvan where shes an information/item resource

she also doesnt spend much time in the shop herself, she mostly delegates it to other young people she has in her guild (said young people are potentially spin-off/short story material because i think the adventures they would go on to aquires these antiques would be very fun)

hasnt yet found a successor for the butterfly witches power. she is extremely picky and also reluctant to give it up, as well as not really liking being a mentor. its something thats just gonna have to come to her, she wont actively seek it out

i like to imagine shes a bit active in the higher society circles of the central kingdom!! places mochi and tiramisu never touch because its far too much politics and fuck-fuck games

i also like to think she flirts with sulluvan when she sees him and he is very respectful to her but nonetheless not interested since the butterfly is too low on the pyramid (lol hes eyes on the prize only)

i believe its fair to assume mc has seen at least one of the boys cry. here is what i believe happened. (if you want me to do undateables, let me know! tw for low self worth, panic attacks, and survivors guilt/death mentions)

without a doubt the most embarassed to be caught crying

he had just gotten into an argument with diavolo, and he questions his importance in diavolos life

he goes into the study to get some extra work done late at night to reassure himself he is useful

with all of the stress from the situation at hand and some stress from supporting the family on his back, he cant help but shed a few tears

all he wants to do is keep those around him happy and healthy... and it tears him apart when he cant

if i cant make the ones i love happy then... what can i do...

he doesnt notice your presence, as he has hands over his eyes and is breathing slowly in order to relax himself

you call out his name softly to get his attention

lucy jumps and tries wiping his eyes and playing it off as if he was never crying

you walk closer to him and he keeps inquiring if theres anything you need

you dont say anything, you just place your arms around him and hold him in a tight embrace

and he starts crying again on your shoulder... harder, this time. holding you tighter and closer in the embrace

because of his pride, its hard for him to admit what he needs the most: someone to show they care for him

mammon

mammon is the type to not cry often but when he does, its a lot

while his brothers dont really have bad intentions, the daily degradation they execute against mammon really gets to him

he can only put up his confident front for so long, and not long after a fight with asmo, it recedes

he lay on his bed sobbing heavily into a pillow to muffle the sound for nearly a full hour

his mind cant help but insist all the words his siblings tell him are true... and he wishes more than anything that you were there to tell him they werent

he looks up to the door every once in a while with blurry vision, mind convincing him theyre at the door, but you not being there makes him cry even harder

maybe they just think the same as the rest of my brothers

he hears the doorknob, but convinces himself its his mind again. ironically enough, this makes him cry even harder

you run over to his bed to sit down next to him and rub his back reassuringly, asking if hes alright

you reassure him this will all pass and knowing how hard school is for him, you tell him he did well today

you get him to regulate his breathing and gain some composure

hes embarassed you had to see him like that... but he lets you know hes so thankful that you came to help him

its very rare he cries from happiness or anything like that, but sometimes he gets so sad that he gets angry... and then he cries a lot

but you were curious as to why he wasnt in his usual 4 pm reading spot, so you decided to check his room

he was just sat completely still staring into the distance while tears fell down his face

he didnt even notice your presence until you sat down next to him

you didnt want to pry, so you just asked if he wanted to talk about it

he hates conflict between them and would do absolutely anything to avoid it

what he hates the most about himself is how hungry he gets... hes aware its poorly timed but theres really nothing he can do about it

but the feeling hes being an inconvenience to those he loves hurts him

beel is great at smiling as often as possible, but if theres any tension between the family, he wont stop crying until its resolved

once he was so hungry it wasnt possible to control himself and he ended up going on a rampage

he earned scolds from lucifer, mammon, and satan for this

it tore him apart knowing that he had caused his family trouble for even a second and he started crying because of the guilt

he couldnt even find enough energy to make it back to his room, so he just sat in the kitchen with tears on his face

you had decided to go to the kitchen to get a snack when you saw him

he apologized for being in the kitchen and offered to move if you wanted his seat, but you declined

beel didnt even bother wiping the tears from his eyes... he wore them like they were a punishment for his own behavior

when you asked him what was wrong, all he said was that he was a bad brother

you tried to tell him otherwise, but then he went into detail about the situation and how all he does is cause the family distress

you told him that isnt true at all and he continues to bring light and happiness to all those around him

hearing that his brothers will come around and know he meant no harm is all he needed to hear

its been millenia but he still wishes that it was him instead of lilith

because of this he cries quite often, but never in front of anyone other than beel

this feeling that lilith and him should have traded places haunts him often, and its not always so easy to sleep it off

as fore mentioned, he usually finds comfort in talking to his older twin but beel isnt always there

beel was at one of his clubs at rad and belphie didnt want to bother him, but he really did need someone right now

unlike his older brothers, belphie actually makes an effort to find you

he doesnt find you in your room nor the kitchen, so he continues to search around the house in hopes youre around here somewhere

he happens to find you by yourself in the study on your d.d.d.

belphie feels bad bothering you, and enters the room quite quietly

“mc, can we talk?”

he sits down next to you and lays his head on your shoulder

contrary to what he stated he wanted, not much talking is being done

he just lies there quietly crying with no explanation why

he realises he may not be as ready to talk about it as he thought... but thats okay

you tell him that youre going to listen whenever hes ready to talk about it

that makes him feel a lot better

How you ever got so lucky to find four amazing boyfriends, you didn't know. All you knew was that the thought of them alone was enough to make you smile like a love sick fool- which you probably were at this point. You'd met Marko first, falling in love with his jacket. You'd started a conversation, and soon it turned into a night spend together on the boardwalk. The night after you met his so-called brothers, and you felt right at home.

Marko was the one that would prank you, or just ride the rides with your, making you laugh as much as he could. Paul was always dragging you to the latest beach concert, dancing with you as the two of you sang along to the music. He'd sneak you into the most amazing places, always making sure that your night together had been special. Dwayne was more of a quiet lover, but he definitely showed you how much he loved you. No matter what was going on, he always made sure you had a smile in your face. He was the one you could go to for advice, or just a quiet night in. He loved the boardwalk and walking around with you there, but he preferred a night of reading or watching TV with you. Lastly there was David, a little dominant and a little more rough around the edges than the others, but an absolute sweetheart nonetheless. He was protective- more so than the others. He was always hugging you or holding you in some sort of way, making sure you felt comfortable. He gave you surprise presents.

All of them just loved you, more than you've ever been loved before. And, you loved them more than you could imagine.

You'd missed them. You had wanted to go out so badly, wanting to see them, but when your roommate heard your cough and your sneeze, she decided you should stay in.

"You'll only get ill. Come on, it's only one night," she said as she made you some soup. You were coming down with a fever according to her, and it would be best to must get some sleep so you'd be feeling better tomorrow.

On the other side of town, the boys were waiting for you. David was getting impatient, while Paul and Marko were messing around.

"Where are they?"

"It's only eight, Y/N can show up any minute."

But, when it was eight thirty, and you were still not anywhere near the boardwalk, they got worried. So, after going through every scenario- that went from you forgetting to you being kidnapped- they decided to check your place first.

Your housemate had just finished the soup she'd made for you, when there was a knocking on the door. "Drink up, alright?"

You nodded quietly, feeling a headache coming up. When she ooened the door, she saw your four boyfriends.

"Is Y/N here?" David looked at her, feeling relieved when she nodded.

"Yeah. But they're not feeling so well, so-"

"Can we see Y/N?" Dwayne asked.

"Yeah, of course. Come in. I have to go to work anyways, so it's a good thing you're all here."

With that she left, and the boys stepped in. Immediately they swarmed around you. Paul checking your temperature, Marko kissing your head softly, while David grabbed you some more pillows, while Dwayne got you a blanket.

"You're burning up!"

"I'm fine, Paul."

"Yeah," he snorted, "And I'm human."

"I really am- I'm just-" you groaned when your headache set through, making it feel like your head was splitting itself apart. Marko handed you some paracetamol.

"Come on, princex," Dwayne lifted you up, moving you to your bed. It was big enough for all five of you.

"Why are you here?"

"You didn't show up at the boardwalk," David brushed his fingers through your hair. "We got worried."

"I- I forgot-"

"You're ill," Marko kissed your hand softly, "So, let us take care of you, alright, baby?"

You nodded quietly, smiling a tired smile as your boyfriends laid around you, each of them holding you.

"Tell us if you need anything." David mumbled softly, kissing your forehead softly. They stayed all night, holding you while you slept, giving you whatever you needed whenever you were awake.

Actually fuck it:

- Sokka 150% asks for Iroh, Katara and Suki’s approval (And Azula in a perfect world). All of them support him wholeheartedly.

-Iroh gives him wise words on spending a lifetime with someone where he mentions the importance of loving them in moments where they aren’t their best but being along for their journey (he also mildly threatens Sokka in his Iroh way bc it’s nephew/son, of course Iroh is protective)

-Katara gets all happy, and starts talking about planning a wedding (she understands itll be hard to do a traditional water tribe wedding in the Fire Nation, so she starts writing a contingency plan). Of course, she’s walking through the palace muttering about it, so people are looking at her like a mad woman, but she’s got a plan okay!!!

- Suki just smiles and says it took him long enough

- Azula cocks an eyebrow, looks at her nails and says “Zuzu has always been fond of the water, I guess I should’ve seen this coming. Make it spectacular, he is a Firelord after all.” Sokka breathes a sigh of relief and then Azula adds at the end “Not to mention if you screw this up, you have two very protective firebenders and a knife wielding assassin to make sure you pay. Don’t mess up” Sokka is thoroughly scared but also he knows he got this. 

- Sokka sends a message to Hakoda, Bato and Gran Gran (and Pakku) so they know the plan and they all give their blessings. 

- Because Sokka knows its the joining of two different cultures, he chooses a red silk tie, but gets Katara to get him a stone from the South Pole. He craves it into a dragon, looking at the moon. 

- Zuko is obviously like “wtf is going on” because all the servants can’t stop smiling and whispering (Sokka is so obvious, but Zuko’s oblivious), Katara’s muttering around, Azula keeps staring at his neck, everytime Uncle and Aang see him, they start sniffling, Toph has repeatedly touched his neck, Suki just grins at him. And he can’t find Sokka. 

-And then Zuko walks to the garden where the turtleducks are, and there is a bunch of paper latterns (purple), floating in the water, and Sokka is leaned up against the tree. 

-Zuko’s like “what’s this?” but smiling nonetheless cus he hasnt seen Sokka in what feels like months. Sokka just tells him how red and blue make purple and Zuko says he knows lol, so what’s up? Sokka just smiles at him because honestly it should be obvious what’s about to go down (The Gaang, Iroh, Azula, Mai are hiding on a nearby balcony). 

-Sokka talks about how much he hated Zuko at first, how he was so horrible (Zuko’s like “I recall, what’s your point here?”) and how without Zuko, Sokka would’ve never realized he didnt just have to live for others, but for himself. And the Sokka pulls the necklace out and he’s like “Zuko, I want to spend the rest of my life with you” and he shows Zuko the necklace and Zuko is blushing and asks Sokka to put it on him. 

- Sokka happily does so and then goes “Is that a yes?” and Zuko’s like “what was the question?” and then Sokka realizes he should’ve explained this better because  duh Zuko wouldnt know this tradition. But before he can explain, Toph is yelling “HE JUST ASKED YOU TO MARRY HIM DOOFUS”

-And Zuko’s just panicking because omg, that is not what he realized just happened (also that explains the crowd) but now that he knows, he tackles Sokka and while on top of him he goes “Of course it’s a yes! ok listen. i know he is certainly not a fan favourite and i absolutely hated him the first few times i watched ua. but this time, i rewatched it specifically to try to sympathize with luther and guys there are so many things at play here

he doesn’t realize the extent to which his siblings were abused. he brushes klaus off and doesn’t think twice about locking up vanya again because he just assumes they had the same experience. he’s not being an asshole (on purpose), he just never stopped to think about the fact that being Hargreeves’ favourite made life a lot easier for him.

similar to the first note, he never stopped to consider the implications of having powers that hurt to use. he has super strength, something that, compared to some of the other powers in the family, is nothing. he just doesnt realize what seeing corpses is like, which is why he doesnt get klaus’ addiction (and to be fair, neither do the rest of his siblings). Same with Vanya. He doesn’t think about what it’s like to learn you have powers after being told you’re horribly boring and average your whole life, nor what it’s like to find out your memory was erased. he had it a lot easier than his siblings, but he doesnt think about that. that leads to some poor decisions and awful seeming actions, but keep in mind that we know a lot more than he does about his siblings. we’ve seen their pain but he hasnt. no one in this damn family communicates, so he just doesnt get it. i wish hed stop to think about how other people feel every once in a while, but itd also help if they just straight up said “hey being high keeps the gory corpses out of my field of view, im not a fan of this either” to help him understand. he wasnt taught empathy, but he tries for the most part. honestly, the fact that he turned out that nice considering what he grew up with? kind of incredible

hes not just obsessed with the moon. and to be fair, he has a right to it? i mean i havent stopped talking about this show for 2 months and ive had other things happening in my life. he was alone up there for 4 years. that doesnt give you much conversation material. and also, bringing up the idea that the apocalypse could be caused by the moon makes sense because, yeah, he was sent up there by their dad who knew about the apocalypse (whether luther was aware of that or not). He was up there to look for threats, so its not that odd to consider that the threat he was watching for could have caused the apocalypse...oh speaking of which HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE MOON IT DID CAUSE THE APOCALYPSE

i think a lot of people like to ignore the fact that he was also abused. sure, it wasnt to the extent of klaus or vanya but he had a horrible childhood nonetheless which messed him up too. he wasnt taught a lot of the things we take for granted so like i said earlier, the fact that he’s not completely deranged is astonishing

also can we mention the horrible trauma he went through? like lmao monkey man but oh my gosh can you imagine? he almost died (in a horribly painful way) and woke up months later with a fucking gorilla body. he’ll never look like a normal person again. he probably will never be able to look in the mirror and like what he sees (you can find out first hand what its like to be me so GATHER ROU-) yes everything Klaus went through was horrible but Luther has lived through some fucked up shit too and i think we like to ignore that because he’s not very likeable

the scene with vanya. it hurts me every time i think about it. HOWEVER. i understand why he did it. do i think he made the right choice? fuck no. but i get why he did what he did. Vanya was extremely dangerous. She caused the apocalypse. she literally killed everyone on earth. these arent things we should brush over. (and yes i love vanya but that’s not what we’re talking about here) she very nearly killed Allison, and he doesn’t know her well enough to know if she’s here to genuinely apologize or finish the job. He just knows he has a responsibility not only to his family, but to the entire world. so he makes a tough decision. it hurts him too, look at his face. he doesnt want to do it but he doesnt think he has any other options.

about dismissing klaus: he has good reason (at least in his head). klaus is intoxicated constantly, and like i mentioned before, he doesnt realize its because of his powers. he just thinks klaus is trying to have a good time, and to be fair, klaus tries to hide his vulnerability (for the most part) so luther wouldnt know any better. in the end when he tells him to be a lookout? justified. the man is heavily suffering from withdrawal (or intoxicated, to luther’s knowledge? i cant remember if luther knows or not or whether he believes him for that matter) which is gonna impact his reaction time, and he doesnt have powers that can help anyway (as far as luther knows). yes, he was trained alongside them and allison is allowed to help despite also lacking usable powers; however, she is in a clearer state of mind and a lot healthier. She can physically fight. Klaus just kinda...jumps on people’s backs for the most part. Did you see her fight Cha Cha? *swoons* no but seriously, Allison is still highly skilled and in far better shape than Klaus. He’s a liability and staying outside is safer for everyone (again, as far as luther knows) all this being said, the way he treats klaus when hes drunk is Disgusting, Abhorrent, and Unacceptable. i understand that he doesnt realise his own power but thats inexcusable

luther x allison is gross, i agree HOWEVER they were not raised as adopted siblings, they were raised more closely akin to a boarding school. their dynamic had always been romantic; they never saw themselves as siblings. yes, i do find it very odd that literally everyone else considers each other siblings, but im just saying that their dynamic has always been different and technically it’s not really incestuous (im not condoning it, i hate it personally i just can see why its not the worst thing ever? its still pretty yikes though. also shipping literally any other characters IS fucking gross because the rest of them see each other as siblings and always have so gtfo with klaus x diego or klaus x ben g r o s s)

those are the main complaints ive seen (and voiced myself)... basically it all boils down to the facts that 1. he was abused, just like his siblings 2. he doesnt stop to think about how other people are thinking or feeling 3. hes just trying to do what is best for his family (and the world). I sympathize with monkey man. He deserved better. I really hope in the next season he’ll pause to consider things every once in a while (and that klaus will open up because he’s not useless but he’s not explaining to anyone why he does the things he does and he needs to!!) so yeah was this basically just me yelling at me from a week ago? yes. does anyone care? probably not but i felt it had to be done. anyway im done ranting for now....if i missed anything lemme know

No pls I love rants on music, especially vocal techniques (had a couple of classes, quit because of life in general, most of my expertise is on the piano side anyway), and would really, seriously love to hear your thoughts on the members vocals (although I do understand that this is time consuming to do) just wanted to say that there's no need to apologise for ranting, we all wanna hear you speak anyways :)

sorry this took forever to respond to! akdjf youve went to more vocal technique classes than i have so maybe you might know more than me ahaha! tbh i really want to formally learn vocal pedagogy so i know what im listening for and what im not. like having that professional opinion alongside telling me ‘ur wrong’ or ‘ur right’ i really want that so i can solidify my learning in a sense…ive been doing that kind of through youtube videos and stuff but still idk. omg ur a pianist? please i love you automatically now so idk why but i’ll probably just summarize in units? and like maybe short comments about each member or more than one member or something idk. under a readmore bc it got longwarning: i am no way, shape and or form a professional. 

hht: im going to start with hht…tbh i have another name for hht haha its called ‘baritone team’ alsdkjf isnt it a coincidence (not really) that all of svts baritones ended up in hht…thus is the fate of most baritones in kpop sadly :( they either get pushed to subvocal or to the rapper position even if its not what they want initially bc of their like natural (basically) biological disposition of not being able to hit, with the same kind of ease, high notes that tenors can…like tbh tenors cant hit those notes ½ the time either but its less obvious bc theyre tenors…that made no sense lasdj…in relating to current events though heres a classic example of baritone (vn) vs tenor (sk) singing in basically the same high note range but vn has to go into falsetto while sk is trying to mix up there…both of them arent really singing it well (laskdj fmaybe sk is a bad example bc he has a good approach to his voice…but like nonetheless that isnt a healthy sounding note from either of them) but its less obvious with sk bc hes a tenor and more obvious with vn (well maybe the falsetto vs mix also had to do with it but like idk a bari who would want to mix that high ljldkajf). anyways in terms of technique, no one in hht team particularly stands out. All of them tend to either sing with their throat or sing with lots of air in their voice, which isn’t particularly healthy but also to be expected from rappers. tbh rappers i find tend to be more throaty, i think why in this group they also are airy is because of wz lol and his vocal directing. within the entire group though (like not just hht), ww has my fav vocal color and i tend to think from within hht, he has the most potential to become a decent vocalist. its mostly (like 95%) because of his continual expressed desire in singing (it makes me think that when he does actually get proper vocal lessons he would take them very seriously and be very disciplined about it and tbh that just goes above everything else) but also because of that one performance of city escape (here) ? and it sounds really pretty and the range that he’s singing in that song is starting to be in the higher part of a baritones register too. and in some of his other vocal performances too, whenever he is in the range where he doesn’t have to mix, his approach to his voice really isnt bad at all. i say he has the most potential but that doesnt mean the other hht members cant become awesome vocalists they can if they put the right time and effort into it. pt:the rest of the units are composed of all tenors (at least from what i know) btw so yeah all of pt are tenors. again in terms of technique no one particularly stands out. they all seem to approach singing similarly but with putting emphasis on different things which makes them sound different….actually upon closer inspection most of the members of the entire group (not just pt) are like that laksjdl….well maybe with the exception of sk. anywho…jh pushes air a lot which is why you get those like ‘hiccups’?? idk how else to describe it but an example is here. like do u hear how his voice rises at the end of a lot of those notes? hs also gets those same hiccups. jh is also quite nasal, and probably the most nasally member within the 13 members when it comes to singing. nasally voices are my number one pet peeve rip thats why my fav jh singing moments is when hes singing in his comfortable range and esp when its words/syllables that force him to place his voice not so much in his nose (ie this part in my i). being nasal is not really as damaging for the vocal chords as much as it is the individual not really placing the voice in the correct, most optimal place. he also gets really tight on higher notes esp when hes trying to mix that high. same with hs (you can hear the both of them sounding tight in the habit perf i linked to earlier). also jh has tongue tension but im not sure if thats a reflection of him trying to sing in kr…him and hao are probably at a disadvantage when it comes to singing because of the fact that they aren’t singing in a language that theyre comfortable in/fluent in. when it comes to hao, when he said in the seasons greetings video that he was working on singing but no matter how much he practiced, he couldnt improve, that made me really sad :( because that basically means is that the vocal lessons he is getting arent actually good vocal lessons…unless he expects results to happen in a week (which sadly no it takes months upon months). ur vocal chords are a muscle so they take time to develop (like when u first go to the gym u arent going to try and lift the heaviest weight right? or run at the fastest speed or whatever u have to build urself up to that slowly). and then he also compared that to his dancing which he said he could get better at by doing over and over? but its the same when it comes to dancing like u cant be improving dancing if u learn the wrong choreo or the wrong ways to dance a specific type of dance right? like no matter how much u practice a wrong choreo its still going to be that wrong choreo…so if u sing with bad technique no matter how much u practice u arent going to get better u’ll just develop bad technique. but yeah singing with correct technique should yield some results eventually (i can attest to that). anyways im biased and i really want to hear hs get proper vocal lessons bc i find his vocal color sooo pretty i literally listen to campfire like 90%for his part in the chorus (and the other 10% is cheols rap aldjsf)….i also think he hovers around being able to support or maybe its my biased ears talking who knwos… i didnt really talk about dn but hes kind of along the same lines…maybe a bit more dependent on his throat than some of the other members in pt…which kind of makes sense bc thats what rappers tend to dovt: ok js and wz are both similar in how they approach singing i think its kind of obvious too with how much they sound alike at times. oh yeah wz probably has the highest vocal range within the group idt anyone in the group can go higher than him (not that it really matters when it comes to vocal technique but its a neat tidbit of info). jh for one has a lot of tongue tension (just like jn) when he sings and is kinda nasal (not as much as jn but still there). just like the rest of the other members in the other units, these three dont support either. we can finally talk about support when we talk about sm…although his supported range isnt too much he does have that basic down…he gets super throaty though when hes outside his supported range. he does that same hiccup thing that hs/jn do. he hasn’t shown the ability to resonate but at least he can support.  despite singing a lot of the groups high notes, he hasnt developed a connected head voice, as far as im aware of. technique wise hes really similar to a lot of the main vocalists in groups that debut these days. but ok NOW SK aka the member who has the best vocal technique. he supports consistently and he has resonance too its so beautiful and wonderful to listen to like esp since a lot of kpop group vocalists that debut these days for some reason dont really want to resonate. its so nice to listen to his voice. like hes fooling around here but still manages (what i think is) a resonant F#4? (not the high note he holds out, its like the note he sings before he slides up) and if that note isnt resonant then it is at the very least supported very very very nicely. heres a really pretty g4. tbh i really want to hear him start trying to conquer the fourth octave like what a good day itd be if i could say ‘yeah sk can sing up to b4s with good technique’ like thats kind of hard to do but definitely attainable! and he has the potential for sure! i think within the fandom hes really quite overlooked for some odd reason that i cant seem to figure out why. he definitely has the healthiest voice, at least his mixed register for sure. he seems to prefer mixing over head voice for whatever reason when it comes to high notes so honestly speaking i havent paid much attention to his head voice but i wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt connected considering how much he doesnt sing in it…but tbh the fact that he mixes pretty decently is amazing in it of itself. CONCLUSION: with proper vocal guidance and technique ANYONE can become a decent singer.

yeah. see, here's the thing: i know this EXACT episode would not have worked in an earlier season, obviously, as cardassian-bajoran peace relations are only just being approached but nonetheless, i really think... it belongs in season 1/season 2? at least, wrt the purpose its SERVING? do u kno what i mean?

like. exploring the concept of prophets and sisko's role as the emmisary - it jsut feels like this would make the show stronger, if they explored it earlier on. and i know that that's probs a very idealistic way of dissecting; like that rarely do they get the opportunity, to like, sit down and conceptualise the entire show to its end, which is always a great shame, but... even so. this WAS something introduced in the pilot, and i just feel like exploring more of bajor, of its beliefs would just have helped benefit a lot of other arcs regarding bajor? which, again, is why i feel like vedek bareil was underutilised; he could have been a very good (and positive!) insight had they involved him more, since they dont really have kira talk abt her religion, but...

like. after this ep. i also just wish they HAD had kira talk abt it, even then, bc... like- i do understand kira keeps it separate from her job, that perhaps she isnt as in touch with her faith as a literal vedek is, and it wouldn't dominate her life, and consequently it wouldnt come up a lot but... nonetheless? sisko is the emissary! and the fact she's working with him (whilst i understand the primary tension at first was more with regards to him being starfleet and her not agreeing entirely with that) that surely should have created more friction, sooner? and i undertand the prophecy in this ep was the catalyst for that - but, like, the fact it hasnt been alluded to regardless, and again. i just think they should have been establishing more about bajor's religion ANYWAYS

and also with kira. like if she does, like... hm whats the best way of putting it? if, perhaps, she hadn't been prioritisng her faith for a long time bc she was so deadset on just protecting bajor... that's still a conversation that can be had. and so is her faith vs starfleet. and i think it would be interesting to put it in the show, yknow?

btw, im actually sort of... disappointed by bareil? LOL<3 like not in a super super deep way. just in a: idk, i think if the show had spent more time with him and utilised him better, he actually could have been interesting? like, in terms of bajoran politics, mostly, but also like. as a character. since... we have a lot of religon in the show, but i think a more involved character would be interesting since kira doesn't bring up her faith that much and someone like him whos guided by it - in a way that isnt so negative, like with kai winn.

and like. also with his relationship with kira... man it just felt wooden. I MEAN. OKAY. tbf, i dont think trek does relationships well at all: whenever they set out to intentionally write one - at least, thus far - they kind of just.. do all the characters involved a disservice? and its just kind of a shame, man. thats why the relationships they dont intend as relationships, or leave alone just feel better: the characters' chemistry is BECAUSE its organic and theyre written as people playing off each other, rather than taking characters we like and kinda just putting them into a formulaic script. and tbf thats not just a trek thing and is like . the downfall of literally most of media it feels like, sometimes. christ.

(like as an entire aside: again with the whole formulaic script thing. two episodes that are, like, bottom 5 for ds9 episodes would be: meridian and second sight. both of which because theyre both so poorly done by with their romance plots. and its just so frustrating, because i dont even want them to axe the romance necessarily, but can you stop making that the focal point? because it doesnt work by itself! not in such a short time. counterintuitive as it is, it would honestly be much more romantic if you eased up on it: let the characters actually act on their own, and have them explore the plot of the episode and the problems to create something more meaningful between them in the run bc youre just kinda running on hot air here. and espiecially in meridian's case, like- dax would really just throw everything away for a dude who likes her spots?! come off it, bestie. and like these episodes both had POTENTIAL in their concepts but jeeez)

but anyways. it does... sort of feel like you can cut him out a lot of the story- do you literally know what i mean? idk. like it just feels like he was set up as a means to oppose kai winn and thats it and like FINE but also a shame i feel. bc like- his death in s3.... was also just clearly a way to get rid of him and its also kinda disappointing bc THAT too felt kinda poorly done. like, not necessarily the way he went- but the episode was just kinda.... badly executed?

like. a b-plot that can serve as levity can work but this one just felt tonally wrong and i just think - again, since they hadnt used him well ANYWAYS - they should have devoted more time to scenes with him bc like. this is obviously a very fucked up thing that happening to him here and i think more moments and more tension... it could have been a good episode - though better, again, if they'd done the groundwork with him earlier already - but it just felt very flat to me. anyways

GODDAMN YOU’RE NOT HERE TO BE WEAK AND LEAVE HALF WAY THROUGH OK SHE’S HERE TO RIDE OUT THAT GAME TILL THE VERY ENDwho starts the most arguments….. um. oh man, ok. so like??? look tanith doesnt like authority and ghastly is stubborn as hell and arguments like… idk how to word it, i guess tanith can let an edge creep into her voice when she brings up the fact he is/was an elder and ghastly notices it every time and things get a bit tense and uncomfortable for a while but they let it go every time. i saw a post on here about how ghanith hardly argue and i 100% agree w that tbhwho suggests that they buy a petit was all valkyries fault. bringing back that gigantic german shepherd from america got tanith talking and now she wants a pet because shes fallen in love with this dog and she wants a pet but?? dogs are a lot of work and ghastly and tanith just dont have the lifestyle to take care of one, both of them being busy and flexible in when and how they work. thats when tanith sorta realises that a CAT, HOWEVER, (bECAUSE I’VE SEEN THAT POST SOMEONE DID ABOUT GHASTLY HAVING CATS AND!!!!!!!!!!! 10000% AGREE) would still be a pet of their own but independent enough to be ok with being on their own for periods of time and the cat will find its way into ghastlys work room and surprise him by either rubbing itself against his legs or actually jumping up onto his work space and then climb onto his hunched shoulders while he works. he grumbles about it and complains that theres cat hair everywhere but he wouldnt change it for the world. whenever tanith walks in the cat always greets her and she loves it.what couple traditions they havesteak is Their Thing™. ‘nuff said.what tv shows they watch togetherghastly kept going on about this tv show which tackles everything hes passionate about and it pin points exactly what goes on in work spaces which is pretty much fucking around 90% of the time and he has all of its seasons recorded on his tv recorder which he still hasnt gotten round to watching it all and finally tanith is curious enough to see what this amazing show really is like and she ended up falling in love with brooklyn nine nine really, really fast. and rosa diaz. big crush on rosa diaz from tanith.what other couple they hang out withvaldug naturallyhow they spend time together as a couplesee what I adore about their relationship is that it was p much built on the two of them just being so, so ridiculously comfortable in each others company and talking to each other for hours on end and just sort of being there for each other, and i think that (besides from hardcore sexy times obviously) they love to spend time doing their own things with /each other/. tanith’s found herself getting passionate about ghastlys work because she loves being with him while he does so, with him talking to her about his mother and the war and anything and everything.who made the first movetANITH W THE STEAK im gonna cry brbwho brings flowers homeghastly is a romantic shit but he’s never really had room for flowers amongst all of his delicate fabrics at home, but tanith will always find some from somewhere, even if they are just pretty weeds she picked from the field down the road, and take them home to put into a jug of water to sit on the kitchen window sill. who is the best cookghastly. tHE most domestic to ever domestic. he can cook and he can cook good. tanith can settle for pot noodles but shes thankful for his cooking nonetheless

so today I am rambling because.............................

there are times in life (which happen way too often for me nowadays that it feels like they’re my life) when you feel like an absolute failure... so as of today there are 4 days for my semester exams but the amount I have studied could be called negligible. I am here using the internet as a source of viable conversation because i seem to have exhausted all real-life ones. I seem to have started to measure my importance by the number of friends that are happy with me( something i never thought i would do) and seem to fall short immensely.. i get really upset when a person i have had bare 2 conversations with online doesn't respond..( maybe i get attached too quickly ).. not much a maybe about it.. i do get attached too quickly  and that too to people that i haven't even met ... maybe i am just insecure as I have always been... it's easier not to make friends with people who may think you fall short on expectations... its easier to ignore a guy when he is way too romantic for someone who hasnt seen me yet ... its easier to not see if the story i wrote pouring my complete hardwork into got rejected... its easier to say i was friends with someone than to admit even to my self that i may have been in what could be construed as love... its easier to accept that one of my friends has lost her usaul charm, her bubly personality, her confidence, because of something i said, that it was probably ( most definately) me that broke what was left of her spirit... that she still talks to me after that  and it is a miracle... probably because she believes what i said which is why she has lost faith in friendships and most of her friends, which is why she interacts less, fakes more smiles, laughs for a show, hides the pain more intently than she ever did before.... and then accept the way i almost fucked up another of my friendships because i am way to much closed off to actually say if someting is wrong that i prefer to just let it boil inside me until it bursts in taunts and snide remarks in front of someone who has no idea where they went wrong... so much so that when we actaully talk again its not that original issue... the issue anyomore but what i did ....

then the last friendship  i almost fucked .... the best one i have ever had.... the fact i never seemed to have a best friend  before now should probably be because of the fact that i just couldn't seem to open up to anyone...  and when i do by some miracle manage to get one ... for the first time in my life... i hurt her ... because of the same reason .... i don't open up keeping so many things inside. that the fact she opens up to me seems like a gift.... and the fact that she hates that she opens up to me seems like slap in the face... a deserved slap nonetheless hurts as it should... we never talk about that .. our personal elephant in the room ... about how hurt she was to know that it took me a month to break open  in front of her and that too while placing the blame of not reading my mind solely on her shoulder as if i couldnt use the tongue that i have... knowing that it really wasnt her fault and that i should have talked about it and asked why she was hurt( just in case i  managed to do something else also) and apologise .... i didnt do any of that... in fact i brilliantly avoid all of the elephants that i have in my room ...

i don't even know where i stared this rant from and at this point instead of returning back to that i would just spell check and post... before i evaluate the fact that my friend can read this since its online and she knows what my blog is named... and i haven't said all this irl which is probably why she says i never appreciate her... okay this is it i am done today... these posts re sounding like diary entries... but since barely anyone reads it.... it might as well be..

some characters do not really belong to anyone and are just there, or have only been mentioned by certain characters that DO belong to someone but said character isnt really being ‘played’ by anyone because they havent appeared, you know.

The Gang: aka the primary characters, they all currently live together in a townhouse owned by Vlad & Bram

(r) Vladimir Drakoni: Full vampire, born in like the 1400′s?, has a long-standing feud with the Council Chair, Claudios Von Batts. His family was removed from the Council, but he is still pretty involved in their business, cuz he’s nosy and doesnt trust them. Magically tied to Bram by things beyond comprehension, and has after many decades, gotten used to it and they’ve even been able to harness the power of friendship, to the horror of their enemies everywhere. Is short (at least enough that Bram likes to tease him for it), has dark hair (?) 

(r) Abraham Lluewen (??sp?): Human, born in like the 1400′s to the family of hunters that created ‘silverblood’, a liquid silver that is particularly dangerous to vampires. Has worked for and with the Hunter’s Guild over the years, most recently as the head of St. George’s (a monster-hunting school, basically), though is now on ‘parental leave’. Along with Vlad, has a tendency to get into dangerous situation, and also to collect sad magical children and make sure they eat their veggies. Is the tallest member of the Gang, has red hair

(r) Devon Von Batts: Claudios’ son, lived with his human mother until she died when he was a preteen. Stuff happened, he went to juvie, Von Batts Sr. found out he had a son and asked Vlad to pretty please deal with that. Devon lived as Claudios’s son for a few years, having previously been ‘privately tutored’ or whatever. Was part of the plot to infiltrate St. George’s school with young vampire spies, but a lot of stuff happened, he got a bit stabby, things went south, etc. Is now in the care of Vlad and Bram. Recently got his fangs! Has blonde hair, is tall but not quite as tall as his sister (tho this could be because she has a soldier’s posture, and her skininess makes her seem even taller than she is)

(j) Winona Von Batts: Kidnapped from her human mother at birth, raised by creepy vampires who were obsessed with creating a perfect weapon, though they had many and often contradictory ideas about how that should be done. Basically, it really sucked. She eventually killed her ‘family’ when they tried to force her into killing young human girls and drinking their blood, and was picked up by the Guild. Was not exactly communicative, so she ended up at St George’s. lots of stuff happened, now she lives with Bram and Vlad. I think outside the townhouse gang, no one knows (or should know) that she and devon are, in fact, only half vampires. winona is quite tall, and muscular in a way that suggests she was encouraged to exercise frequently but had poor nutrition, tho that has likely been getting less obvious over the last few months. she has brownish stubble across her scalp that might prove to be lighter if it grew out some, but she scratches herself and rips at her head when she’s nervous or often while sleeping, so her head stays buzzed and her nails short.

(t) May Garrison: Quite possibly the destruction of the world is small, adorable human form. a sacred magical ritual on an island went wrong, and the resulting magical baby was taken home by bill garrison who likely did not realize the next 20 years would be spent thinking ‘i was just being a good person, why does magic exist’ may eventually left his island home, and met gabriel, who tasked him with (???? i honestly dont remember the specifics) being at st georges on a plot-heavy day. the aforementioned stuff happened, and tho the Council was reluctant to deal with WInona themselves they also DID not want to just let Vlad have her, so May volunteered his services as a neutral party that would report on Winona’s progress. Is asexual, uses magic through precious gems and stones, likes pineapple on his pizza to the dismay of many. the shortest member of the gang by far (he’s like 5′1″? 5′2″?), i think he’s blonde?, and he wears a lot of very bright outfits

(j) Alex Moraes: Full vampire, from standardly rich and powerful family. Grew up living on the Yates plantation, going to fancy boarding schools, alternatively learning ball room dance and financial investment strategies, visiting the Moraes home in the Andes, etc, etc. Feels a LOT of pressure to be a perfect son and heir, in the human and vampiric traditions, tho honestly he could probably relax about that, as he is already doing WAY better than his parents were at his age. Is gay and closeted and has a lot of conflicting feelings about that, also has an enormous crush on May that is obvious to everyone but may. Is growing his hair out because he wants to have a stylish mane like his father, and because he no longer goes to a boarding school that forbids that sort of thing. maybe also because sometimes may admires it, but im sure thats just convenient

The Legal Team: aka other important people that show up and do stuff, mostly covering everybody’s ass even tho they themselves are kinda an ass

(t) Gabriel Last Name?: Vampire (presumably full, as his family used to have a Council seat), lawyer, May’s employer and friend. Has his fingers in many pots as it were, perhaps not all entirely legal. Bad blood between him and his brother Chris, who absconded with all the family’s wealth and hasnt been heard from since (many many years ago- at least 20 or 30?). Not really the most warm and generous seeming of people, but has come through for the gang. Most notably, he was their legal representation in the case of ‘yall dont really want this dangerous vampire child who might kill you while you sleep, why dont you give her to bram and vlad while you clutch at your pearls and pretend you care about atrocities committed on your watch mkay?’ he and his boyfriends (denatro, a full werewolf and Locke, a bitten vamp) came to the townhouse for an awkward yet hilarious yet terrible christmas dinner. has red hair, generally dresses himself in a corporate fashion

(j) Maria Moraes: full vampire, Council member, member of indigenous population based in the Andes mountains that no longer exists any more, trans woman, also born in like the 1400s (honestly i forgot??), alex’s other mother but that is known to like, three people. a shrewd and savvy businesswoman, Maria is a no nonsense lady who is very unimpressed with the amount of nonsense alex has recently gotten into. but also sees the value of having Von Batts in her debt, and allying herself with Vlad and Bram, as well as Winona- she doesnt like wild cards, but she’d rather they be in her hand than loose in the deck, as it were. she secured the votes of other councillors for the ‘vlad gets winona and devon’ plan, and is apparently quite comfortable manipulating her colleagues. she has many business and political connections in the human world as well, as she does not subscribe to the isolationist theory many old supernatural beings prefer. in a not-serious-but-maybe-serious relationship with Mags, a werewolf gal from Deno’s pack. practices magic, but more like ‘spells’ and potions than the abilities Vlad has. can turn herself into a hawk, which is quite useful as she hates mechanized transportation

The Extended Fam & Friends: aka some more people that the Gang is fond of

(t) Bill Garrison: May’s adopted father, a very patient but bewildered man. His family, especially his parents are well respected in the community, which allowed him a bit more flexibility in the ‘adopting this random and potentially dangerous baby’ thing. handyman and builder

(t) Henri LastName: May’s best friend and confidante. Is a ‘guardian’ (i think that’s what they are called? basically, she’s involved with the giant world eating snake thing their island has going on, though she seems much more friendly with May than the others in her position). A take-no-shit lady, sells fish, i dont think she gets along with her mother? rocks a nice suit

(j) Matt Moraes: Alex’s ‘father’, Maria’s older brother, married to Annabelle. Enjoys art perhaps a little too much, as he seems to have taken the ‘my wife and sister can do as they please so long as im not interrupted from this project’ and honestly, they have some /dangerous/ projects that could use somebody willing to stand up to them. But generally, a kind man who has a good life- his marriage to annabelle is primarily a political one (they’re both gay), but they get along well enough in public that few would suspect they aren’t genuine. also, absurdly handsome. has a great beard and great hair, College Professor Hot™

(j) Annabelle Yates: full vampire heidi klum. elle woods disposition and charm, the manners of a southern belle, but also a cross between iago and mrs. bennet- she loves to know everybody’s business and she LOVES to be involved in it. not necessarily ill-intentioned in her manipulations, but manipulative nonetheless. has dabbled in most of the potentially high-profile ‘socialite careers’, tho right now is mostly focused on cooking and catering (but goodness knows that could change on a whim). she makes it a point to always look put together and have control over any situation, but she is incredibly protective of alex. loves parties, loves being adored, loves being right. has been known to flaunt whichever lingerie model she’s been seeing at maria, her ex, in attempts to make her jealous. does not actively practice magic, as her family has the rather unfortunate predisposition to go mad with power lust in their obsession to acquire more and more dangerous magics. has long, bright red hair and a smile a dentist would love to use in advertisements. (also, is maybe pregnant! this was going to alluded to more heavily in a thing i will hopefully eventually post that explored matt’s relationship to his family, but i was having difficulty with the dialogue and abandoned it for the time being, so)

(t) Denatro LastName: Deno, full werewolf, son of his pack’s previous alpha and younger brother to the current one, but has not been ‘home’ in years. his dad was an asshole that made him feel like having had a complicated birth (has only one eye, usually wears a patch over it in human form) was somehow in his control and thus his fault his mother died. Married to Locke, and the two are dating Gabriel. Deno is somewhat grumpy, not keen on people or tidiness or many other things besides. His wolf form is on the smaller side for a werewolf, but he’s faster and nimbler for it (i think he has black fur? and a very good nose?) annabelle thinks his butt looks nice in his suit, deno thinks wearing suits should be outlawed. has tried to eat a cat at least once.

(t) Locke Smith: owns a gas station with Deno in canada, bitten vampire, that’s not his real name (i mean, at least none of the Moraes-Yates gangs are still going by their original names, so he’s fine). Got into some real awful shit with some vampires when he was younger and had to kill his sister after she got violent, first met gabriel as his lawyer. eventually took up hunting, met and started dating Deno, got bitten at some point, got married at some point. reconnected with gabriel, they started seeing each other. like deno, is not keen on socializing, but is far more patient and polite about it. seems to wear a lot of turtlenecks

Ye Olde Baddies: people the gang dislike and/or have to fight against or are just generally suspicious

(r) Claudios Von Batts: Council Chair and leader, full vampire, full trash bag. i keep wanting to sympathize with him, but R assures me not to bother. slept with a human woman (the indignity! for a respectable vampire anyways) after his vampire wife died, obviously did NOT follow up. feels comfortable enough going to vlad when he needs help with child custody stuff, but also is cool with kidnapping and torturing vlad, so. power amongst the councillors and the supernatural community in general have been shifting, and Von Batts wishes to hold onto his at all costs. Is blond, is paranoid, lives alone in his huge mansion (maybe he listens to phantom of the opera as he swoops around? who knows)

Gautier: i almost forgot about him? full vampire, Council member, french dude. generally, a grade A creep. likes to ‘collect’ things (people, lbr). Assumedly connected to and even employing Rawe, and perhaps behind the kidnapping attack on May. i described him as looking older and ugly, but at times ive also implied vampires can influence their appearances, so who know. maybe he likes looking a guy colbert would make fun of

DeLuna: another random council member? wants von batt’s power for herself, seems suspicious of the commonly held belief that the twins were his late wife’s children. had her car stolen by May and Winona.

(j) Jack: cosmic entity charged with making sure sentient life doesn’t magic itself out of existence on accident. why Maria and Matt are the only remaining members of their civilization, gained the ability to posses a human body after helping merlin out, and now just hangs around on earth sometimes, eating food and enjoying carnal delights, etc. has become fond of Matt over the centuries they been sharing the second, but is unlikely to admit it. is absolutely enthralled by the prospect of May, and was invited to the New Years party in an effort by annabelle to satisfy jack’s curiosity without exposing may to much danger. is currently inhabiting the body of a dutch coma patient, and sorta looks like a man who hasnt left a hospital bed in years- very grayish skin, limp black hair, creepy eyes

dr rawe: .... a boogey-man, magic scientist dude? we needed to shake stuff up with some drama, so i created him to kidnap May and then came up with the explanation for what he was later on, dont judge. at any rate he’s dead now, having been quite injured by the gang and then eaten by jack

party goers: people at Annabelle’s primarily-human New Year’s Day party that the gang and others are interacting with

(j) Ilhan: human, Alex’s friend from prep school who is currently studying at MIT. Also, his girlfriend- the relationship was always a bit of an intentional ruse, but Alex has never actually talked to her about it, and probably should. I suspect that she genuinely does like him and would be hurt if he admitted that he has no interest in her, but probably not surprised. is wearing a white hijab and a long dress with galaxies across it

(j) gavin LastName: human, son of the fictional texas governor. a real asshole. he and alex dated secretly for awhile, under the pretense that gavin would be ostrasized and disowned if he came out, and became very manipulative of alex. it eventually became clear that gavin was largely just using alex for his own means, mutual friend Ilhan got real damn angry and things went south. gavin is... bitter about this. i keep trying to sympathize with gavin and give him more complex motivations (there are lots of people who cannot come out and that is valid! it is not inherently abusive to ask your partner to keep your relationship private! -things that i think and also alex probably thinks when he frets about it and wonders that maybe he /was/ in the wrong, no matter what ilhan claims) but honestly hes just a superficial high school jock villain and it can probably be left at that

(j) Chris Yates: i gotta rename him because there are only so many red haired characters that can have a brother named chris, but he’s annabelle’s younger half brother and runs their security firm. (they freelance with the mob, they are NOT the mob, its different) a decent dude, though was a stereotypical ‘big brother’ to alex growing up- as in, he was WAY cooler to hang out with than alex’s parents, but also likely to tell him scary stories and encourage him to do dangerous things that annabelle would have absolutely forbidden. i got some other backstory on him with the Yates family and the civil war and all that stuff, but basically he was very useful when annabelle exerted herself as head of the Yates family (i dont wanna say he shot folks who disagreed with her, but thats pretty much what happened)

annabelle’s ‘family’: yall i keep meaning to post something meaningful about the ‘cousins’ but basically its a large collection of full vampires and bitten vampires and a few in-the-know humans who were brought in as significant others but didnt want to be bitten. its not exactly ‘Council approved’, but they’re basically a coven of vampire rednecks and muscle thugs and the council was like ‘if we recognize the Moraes-Yates marriage and give Moraes a council seat then we have power over Annabelle and by extension her coven, without actually having to directly interact with her coven, soooo’ Technically Maria is ‘head of the family’ in the ways that matter for vampire law, but to the cousins, Annabelle is head of the family in the ways that /actually/ matter, and in the ways recognized by the old magics of the yates matriarchs. she keeps them out of trouble, disciplines them as needed, and the Council generally gets to sleep sounder at night knowing that at least things are much better than they were before annabelle took charge (and killed and exiled a good portion of said trouble-causing family, but thats another thing!)

Assorted Side Characters: aka people who i forgot to mention or didnt have a category

(r) the vampire doctor lady whose name i forgot: she’s friends with Vlad and gets away with because the supernatural community is pretty shit about medical research and the Council can’t really afford to alienate the world’s best (and only) expert on vampire health and wellbeing. probably one of vlad’s inside eyes and ears on the Council, has been treating Winona to recover use of her voice

nora: winona’s primary care-giver until she was maybe seven or so, and protected her from some of the abuse of the others. was presumably killed by the others in the coven, but if we ever need a new plot idea, nora can definitely be alive. though goodness knows if she really cared for winona or was just another manipulative sicko, so i supposed i would have to figure that out

victoria: a mysterious lady that Bram used to date, much to the displeasure (and detriment, it seems) of Vlad. Possibly why Vlad is so against Bram dating in the present

the folks on the island: May’s community is something of another mystery- Henri and Bill, at least, are very much on May’s ‘side’ as it were, but it seems that sentiment is not widely embraced, and there may be some who are anxious for May to die young, as has been predicted

(j) FirstName Domagala: aka ‘Mags’, a werewolf from Deno’s pack. She is older than him (maybe 5, 7 years? idk) and is also in a somewhat self-imposed exile, tho the details of that are unknown to us (aka i havent decided) and she formally left the pack several years after Deno had. She initially left to study medicine (surgery, specifically), but in recent years her seizures (which she used to only get after transforming) have forced her out of practice. is ‘seeing’ Maria, and weirdly enough, it seems to be approaching a ‘real relationship’, tho who knows. her parents were well respected and loved, her father being deno’s father’s best friend. she DEF killed him. it should be noted that Mags has several variations and though Werewolf Mags is certainly not warm and personable, she is a LOT nicer than Apocalypse Mags and Mutant Mags. 

sara weaver, greg parker, some other gal whose name i dont remember: the other kids in this generations vampiric baby boom. greg was the youngest by a few years, and real shy and nervous i think? and sara and alex have always been friends in the same way you might be friends with the kids of your parents college friends that you see once or twice a year- you get along and enjoy catching up, but outside of that connection, you dont make a lot of effort into maintaining the relationship. initially they were maybe going to be closer, but i decided that if alex supposedly had a ‘normal’ life he should maybe have some human friends, so ilhan became his primary friend outside the gang. sorry sara.

apologies for the many details i got wrong or outright neglected (like gavin’s last name, which i have already forgot, or Mags’ first name, which i STILL havent come up with, despite the character having originated even before her appearance in the Northern Ridge Werewolf RP sheesh i should get on that) i tried to include physical descriptors when i remember them, but obvs they are not complete nor necessarily accurate.
