Canon vs Headcanon (MK Edition)

You can ask literally anybody who knows me, I have a thing for main characters. Majority of the time when I watch/read stuff, the main character is either my #1 or #2.

Anyways, I giggled the entire time drawing in the lego style (regardless of how unfinished it feels next to my own art style-) and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to draw in it more. I gave my MK vitiligo to represent the mask that Wukong & Macaque have, and the MK I drew here is pre-meeting Ink MK. My bestie also found something awhile back that MK was supposed to have a tooth gap or whatever and I love tooth gaps so it's there too. I will talk about this for ages if you let me but this description is becoming a bit much.

Maybe I'll do this again, probably with Macaque or Red Son. Speaking of Red Son, I do have more art with him at the ready, and I constantly re-read the thirsty-ass hashtags people reblogged him with. I'm not a bigot. I'm not anti-trans. I don't think trans people are inherently evil. But I do not believe you can change your biological sex. I do not believe allowing trans women into women's sports, changing rooms, sexualities (lesbians being pressured to date trans women), etc. is good for women and girls. It's not just a belief I have, it's factually proven to be dangerous to put TW in women's prisons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and in bathrooms (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 [5 is written by a trans woman]).

I'm not saying I hate trans people or that I don't trust them or that teens/children who identify as transgender are "broken" or "wrong" like people have said I do. I think we have manipulated an entire generation of lesbians and homosexual boys (though not all trans-identified people are homosexual/bisexual) into believing they have to be the opposite sex. We've lied to dysphoric teens and told them they're going to die if they don't recieve gender-affirming care (see all the posts on the protecttranskids, transgenocide, transrights etc. hashtags).

This is also evident in that anytime you question someone who says trans people are experiencing a genocide, especially a younger person (like a teenager who gets all their information from Instagram and TikTok) they actually can't come up with a single example. Even when they bring up the so-called "anti-trans legislature" being passed in the United States, they can't name any specific bans, because that actually does not exist. What I linked for you is HB1276, which, if you read it, allows minors who underwent sexual reassignment surgery to sue their doctors up to 30 years after they turn 18 for malpractice if they regret surgery. Trans Legislation Tracker labels this an "anti-trans" bill.

They have reason to regret it, too. Lupron, the drug administered in FtM transition to dysphoric females, has painful and sometimes deadly side effects that gender-affirming medical clinics will not disclose with you in full. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Also, a disproportionate amount of FtM females are autistic, homosexual, and depressed. I care especially about these women because I'm eighteen, autistic, and a lesbian, so I really resonate with their pain and struggle. I'm not disgusted by transgender individuals and I'm not angry with them. I feel terrible for them. And I want to help.

What I think we have in the world now is an extreme lack of education. It's harming girls and women my age, when there are more affordable and better options. We've known for a long time doctors will push medicines that don't work/shouldn't be as expensive as they are in order to make money (I'm talking about things like selling insulin for $500 a vial. I'm not talking about things like vaccines.).

If you want to change your name and use other pronouns, cool, fine, whatever. I don't care what you do with your life, your money, and your time. But don't call yourself male or female when you're not. See my pinned post for why doing so harms women and men.

Transgenderism is motivated by misogyny. Go to any of the subreddits created for TW (r/Egg_irl, r/MtF, r/transgender [though that one contains trans men also]) and you'll see in every "How I knew I was trans" post that these people consider being female synonymous with being feminine, and it isn't. I'm not feminine. Does that make me a man? No. It just makes me a nonfeminine woman.

I'm not denying the existence of gender dysphoria. Many of my mutuals are desisted females who still struggle with it. But hormone therapy/SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) are very clearly not the answer. I hope this helps you understand my position better. I also hope I've not come across as condescending or patronizing in any way.

I know trans day of Visibility was yesterday but I've seen a lot of hate out there even people attacking anyone who uses the hashtag on Twitter. But even though that's hard to see remember that for every one hateful comment there's a sea of support. People trying to be a true community and look out for each other. The negatives they just feel so heavy sometimes that you feel the weight of them over the weight of kindness that people try to spread. A reminder that if it starts to get to you it's a good idea to take a short break from your phone. Or at the very least social media. Read a book, watch a movie, call a friend, engage in a hobby, knock something off your to do list, listen to some music, journal... whatever helps or gives you a nice distraction. And fellow transfolk never forget to tell yourself how valid you are. Even though trans day of visibility is over you are still valid and you are worth celebrating. Our strength comes from our hearts and that's what will make us prevail. To all those who are closeted due to safety or unaccepting families hang in there. A lot of us know how you feel or are even in the exact same boat. Like I said I know its late but who cares. I'm trans and I'm proud. And any day can be our day whenever we choose. Trans Rights Readathon

From March 20-27th, all the cool bookish social-media-people will be reading and promoting books by trans authors. We'll also be encouraging followers to donate to support trans people! One suggested fund is the Trans Health Legal Fund run by the Transgender Law Center, but feel free to support an org closer to your heart!

This is a decentralized fundraiser/action, so below are some guidelines on how to participate, but feel free to adjust and do whatever makes sense for your content and your followers! As long as you're encouraging people to read trans books and donate to trans support orgs, you're participating! 

Before March 20th:

Tell your followers about the Trans Rights Readathon!

Use the hashtag #transrightsreadathon

If you're comfortable & able, disclose how much $$ you'll be donating for each book or chapter you read, and what trans org you want your followers to support

You can ask folks to make a flat one-time donation, or pledge to donate a certain amount based on however many books/chapters you read.

Invite your followers to read along with you, and (if they're able) to share their pledged donation in a comment or repost. 

Stress that if folks can't help out financially, supporting the readathon by reading along, commenting, boosting, and sharing is super helpful too! 

During the Readathon:

Post lots of content about trans books! The dream is that every time a bookish post comes through someone's feed, it's about trans books! 

Always use the hashtag #transrightsreadathon on these posts to boost visibility!

Interact with other creators participating in the readathon and using the hashtag!

After the Readathon:

Make a wrap-up video sharing how much you read, and remind your followers to donate to your chosen org! 

Fill out the follow-up google form I will email you with wrap-up info

Encourage followers to keep reading books by trans authors, to keep supporting trans defense funds, and to keep fighting against hateful legislation!

Ok I gotta say this. It really makes me laugh when people use #transformers here on post about transgender. Look I don't have anything against trans people but when I click on the hashtag I want to see robot and some cool art about them not someone showing of their body in a bikini. Again I don't have anything against the trans people Do whatever you want but please, look at the hashtag before using it. It can be imbarassing when you look at the hashtag and realizing what you did.

I left a nonbinary answer, but I didn't want to get into a lot of particulars (some were covered more in depth in the notes already). [I managed to figure out I was nonbinary before I realized that I was also intersex. Nonbinary does not automatically equal intersex, and intersex does not automatically equal nonbinary.] It did include some of an intersex answer as well:

It might be more of an influence from me being intersex, but I don't consider myself to have a sex-and-gender unit. Or - I don't use the sex binary to describe my gender, though I was assigned a sex at birth and couldn't escape early socialization that relied on tying 'female = girl-becomes-woman' and 'male = boy-becomes-man' together. The ability to update my 'gender' marker on official forms with either an M or an F doesn't actually relate to my gender, for example. Information that focuses on a very particular MTF or FTM trajectory doesn't account for my intersex experiences or experiences with genderfluidity.

Additionally, I've run into the following:

Supposedly, intersex people don't exist because sex is only male or female. (How do they define sex? I know it when I see it, more or less.)

Or, intersex people do exist, but it's only very specific ideas of people born with a penis and a vagina (with a slight possibility of completely functional reproductive systems that's maybe influenced by some sort of fictional porn).

Or, intersex people don't exist because they're shuffled into the category of cisgender people, especially noticeable in the past few years when it comes to bills and laws that carve out exemptions for intersex minors to access medical care that's denied to transgender minors. (These are mostly called trans bills without any mention of intersex advocacy.)

Or, intersex people do exist because they're naturally nonbinary. (Which may also overlap with conflating sex-and-gender terms when talking about animals and plants. Sometimes this gets into automatically sorting intersex folks in with nonbinary folks in a way that ignores the possibility of intersex men and intersex women existing.)

Or, historically intersex people didn't exist because that old myth or whatever it is actually belongs to transgender people. (Some people are open to a certain amount of vagueness or cross-application, but other people are fiercely protective of only-trans interpretations in a way that almost borders on presenting intersex people springing up out of nowhere in the past few decades.)

Or, intersex people do exist because they're diagnosed at birth. (This usually focuses on genital based ideas of intersex in a way that discounts the possibility of finding out that one's intersex 'later in life', but this also sometimes gets into whether someone can be assigned X at birth. Some places didn't allow that until recently, if at all, and the absolute conviction that all intersex people have been able to be assigned X at birth can come across like intersex people shouldn't have any stake in F or M markers on their paperwork.)

Or, intersex people don't exist because they're just cisgender people with certain medical conditions. (Sometimes this looks like non-intersex people gatekeeping who counts as intersex based on a list of medical diagnoses, so they can affect the perception of who supposedly counts as intersex contrary to what the intersex community has decided. Sometimes this looks like non-intersex people approaching an intersex person like a disabled person and wanting proof - name your specific diagnosis, give me an exact history of infant or childhood surgeries, what are your chromosomes, tell me if you use HRT or not.)

Or, intersex people do exist because they're hashtag transition goals. (I've seen people take up using bigenital instead, but I once ran into someone who had a very specific penis-and-vagina mental image that they want to describe as 'transitioning to intersex', possibly back during the discourse around what to call this instead.)
