Back to. What I do best. Which is low to no effort comics. I still feel like I should redesign my teatime Moe BUT... the mental image of this playing out was so powerful.
I've said in the past that a focal part of the dynamic is both of them managing to be extremely affectionate with each other while hesitating to act on their feelings -- however, I also think it's just as important. The fuck around and find out factor. The way Alfonse will just choose violence, sometimes. The way Moe can be really forward (jokingly or just completely forthcoming about it), but gets skiddish and jumpy when that affection is returned. AND. AND. The way Alfonse will just. Do The Most. MORE than The Most. He is returning the energy tenfold. One thing I believe in my heart is that if you think you're weird for something, Alfonse can and WILL prove to you that he can get Weirder about it. This here is a tame example all things considered, but it is an example!
Some close ups of my fave panels/sequences, hopefully less grainy 🧍
Realizing I probably could have taken close ups of all of them tbh..... too late now! It's dark outside. 😔💔
#fire emblem#feh#doing these types of impulse comics is a really fun exercise tbh. for my bigger projects i def plan them out#i esp get meticulous about the paneling. so. it's nice to just have an idea and a dream sometimes LMFAO#i feel like maybe my paneling has gotten better too actually!#i do apologize for those hands though i fucked myself out of taking the easy way out.#i'm trying SO HARD. to mind handedness. moe holds the teacup w its right hand. so it dips its finger in w the left#and alfonse reaches out w his right hand. so. it just made the posing of it all w no refs really awkward 😭😭😭#he does cover the cup w his left hand but now we're just nitpicking. be nicies to me. i take the convenient way out SOMETIMES.#also sorry it's the funniest thing in the world to me. that moe confidently will do a bit#and suffer immediate consequences for it. but it is so committed.#this shit ain't nothing to me. but owwewewwew....... 😞😓#fe alfonse#moe tag#summoner oc#moe alts#my comics#my art#okay final thought i need to say. the 'i implore you' alfonse. is SUCH A FUN EXPRESSION ON HIM#one of the alfonses ever..... he's gonna blow up and die. unless. Review: Peanuts Every Sunday, Vol. 2 (1956-1960)
In my last Sundays review, I said that the star of the show was Lucy Van Pelt. This time around, things have changed. The power has shifted. There’s a new Sheriff in town. His name? Linus Van Pelt.
One of the best running gags in this collection is Linus as an outfielder, going to extreme lengths to catch the ball. It’s a repeated masterclass in Schulz’s command of structure and pacing.
In classic Peanuts fashion, these strips feature a simple core gag but are elevated by small touches: in the top left, Linus spends several panels idly picking at the grass before jumping into action. In the top right, I love the casual way with which he catches and throws, and how slowly his movements develop. In the bottom left, “I beg your pardon” and “Thank you, girls” are the funniest possible things to say as he enters and exits the pool, not to mention the little way he sticks his tongue out as he takes his shoes off (and I think even flexes his toes?). And In the bottom right, I mean, come on, look at how small he is in that title panel!
I’m excited to see Linus begin to shed his blanket. It made for good baby gags, but he’s such a more interesting character when it comes and goes. Alongside the above scenes, he also has a series of battles with Snoopy over the blanket. He’s multi-dimensional!
It’s hard to stop gushing about this collection, which really feels like it captures the strip hitting its stride. There’s melancholy, there’s laughs, there’s sincere character development. Sally Brown shows up! Snoopy lays on top of the dog house for the first time, and his head is starting to get more recognizably thick! But wait, did you think I was going to stop talking about Linus? Because you’re wrong. Here are two more great strips, which also feature his (shown above) love for sand castles.
You start to get a sense of his personality: creative, a bit philosophical. Hum drum, in the way basically all Peanuts characters are, but not a sad sack. He’s dynamic, bringing all kinds of tones and melding himself to the other characters in the strip. Yet through all of it, he’s a fairly polite little boy, unlike Charlie Brown who progressed from rebellious gremlin into depressed sad sack. In a comic strip full of extremes, Linus operates as a fluid middle piece that still steals the show.
Look at this boy! The two above strips are funny, but still kind of touch your heart. Here’s this young man who wants to catch stars in his pail, and badly wants to learn like the older kids on his street. How can you not fall in love with him?
All in all, a fantastic collection. This is the dawn of the golden age of Peanuts, I feel. It’s exciting to read through, because the hit to miss ratio is better than ever. And now I need to get through like three different Complete Collections (the black and white books with the dailies), but it’s hard to go back to them after getting through these vividly colored strips. The colors, the maneuvers that can only happen with the extra length, man the Sundays are great. Peanuts is great.

HI, EVERYONE!!!
I had a wonderful time at C2E2 for the Hannibal panel and for meeting Mads and Hugh!! They are so sweet. They complimented my art, both amazed by it. Hugh’s eyebrows rose up his forehead and he couldn’t stop looking between my drawing and me. They were very kind despite my socially anxious ass being stiff and awkward during our picture because I was forced into getting one when I didn’t want one and had made my opinion very clear on the matter. Mads even patted my back as I left 😭😭
Now, onto the panel, that was the funniest shit ever. They come in going, “yeah, we weren’t expecting this. Especially when we first signed on for the show (when they see all the fans at the panel). We both got drunk last night after I (Hugh) landed.” They were both just very giddy and giggly, honestly. Hugh’s favorite line was the, “Peter, is your social worker in that horse?” While Mads’ is, “nothing here is vegetarian.” So that was fun to hear. Hugh’s favorite scene is the cello scene (which is so cool because that’s the drawing I brought for him to sign because it’s one of my favorite scenes from the show due to the lighting). Mads’ is just the entirety of Mizumono ✋😂😂. Uh. Hugh has a weird fascination with s1 ep2 and the mushrooms XD. The crowd for the panel was actually very respectful. Being completely silent as the two thought about their answers. They had a running gag about things being real since the blood wasn’t real, they weren’t real cannibals, and when asked if working with seven dogs was like, had Mads go, “were the dogs real?”
The drawings I had autographed:

Do you have any headcanons for each of the three marvels?
Oh boy oh BOY do I have headcanons. (Sorry for the late response haha)
Carol:
Her skin is pale and has very noticeable blue veins
She is willing to do anything for the people she cares about, no matter how dangerous
Doesn't remember a lot of Earth, but she does get homesick for Hala, which makes her annoyed.
Since she has the most memories of Hala, she very easily gets annoyed at shittier planets - eg, she has problems with the train networks in America.
Sleeping is rough when you have energy flooding through your veins so she has a bedtime routine of putting all her energy into batteries and solar panels, taking a cold shower, and then passing out for 48 hours.
HATES the cold. She'll go to cold places, sure, but she'll be really fucking angry about it.
Carries sugary and instant energy food around with her in case she looses her energy. She has to eat a fuckload of food after she goes binary.
Got a simplified suit after her powers kept messing up the electrics in her old one.
Loves Goose. Goose is love, Goose is life. Proud cat mom.
Monica:
She can 'see' light and different types of energy, and sometimes gets headaches. She uses sunglasses whenever it gets overwhelming.
Stops using doorways since she can just phase through stuff and tends to scare the shit out of people when she pops out of walls
She can tell exactly when her food has finished cooking without needing to be in the room because she can see energy through walls.
She can see how cold or warm people are, which usually leads to her ominously handing blankets/cold water to her friends. It's very nice but unnerving.
Kept her 70's outfit from Wandavision. Casual bulletproof clothing is a lifesaver.
She doesn't like micro waves because of the Westview incident. This includes actual cooking microwaves.
Very good memory!
Canonically an astronaut - she's incredibly smart. Carol and Kamala will sometimes rant on their group chat about a tech problem they're having and Monica will point out very obvious solutions in the funniest way possible.
Enjoys the night time. She stays up really late, enjoying seeing the moon and stars.
Kamala:
She's the type of person to pack a million clothes for a week-long trip.
She's the first Muslim to pray on another planet but she can't tell anyone and it irritates her so badly because she could get a Guinness World Record, but she can't because of her secret identity.
Learns to use the space Internet so she can read space fanfiction She has no idea what they're about but she gets a lot of fic ideas from them.
Has 10 alts on Twitter, runs 8 Tumblr blogs and has 6 ao3 accounts.
Her powers can make anything she wants. The weirdest thing she's ever made was a 12-seater baby pram when there was a fire at the local hospital.
Doesn't stan any kpop groups but gets involved with drama for fun.
Has a LOT of opinions about random stuff.
Pinterest girlie <3
Uses her powers for the most random stuff. Carrying shopping. Opening the dishwasher. Cleaning the living room. She's forbidden from clearing the table with her powers after she broke a plate.
She's the type of person to start praying for someone, then feels bad about not praying for other people and ends up praying for the entire planet.
Carol was a pilot and Monica is an astronaut so she ends up being the only Marvel to get sick on rollarcoasters.
#hope u enjoyed. i have MANY thoughts about these girls pls ask me for headcanons#marvels-meme#marvel#mcu#marvel cinematic universe#the marvels#carol danvers#captain marvel#monica rambeau#photon#kamala khan#the marvels 2023#the marvels ot3#the marvels headcanons#captain marvel headcanons#ms marvel headcanons#monica rambeau headcanons#kamala khan headcanons#carol danvers headcanons#not a meme#marvel headcanons

For the 'Artist Asks', 6, 8, 11 or 14? (Or maybe all of the above?)
Halllooooo!
Right now my biggest inspo is @/millionfish and expecially her star trek comics cmyk and the warmth between bugs and the machine! Someone noticed that my own comic a simple feeling feels like cmyk and they were right because I heavily was inspired by millionfish work with panels and her composition. Also she has a tutorial on how to make a comic that also helped me a lot. Generally her work with line and shapes are amazing I looooovveeeee her!! Also @/gglinaa. They're excellent in anatomy and stylization of the anatomy, her every work feels so intimate and tender I'm dying each time she posts anything
oh this one is harrddd.... I am a kind of artist who really really really enjoys the process but not much the results... I really don't know what to answer, I guess eyelashes are cool.. and sometimes when I do like the art I made it's because it's so tender it knocks me out heehe
Oh I had a few and they were something along the lines "oh your artwork feels like a sunny day, like a milky way, so tender and kind of looks like van gogh" and honestly I cried at all of them
Welllll this is the first ever art I made when I got my first tablet
and this is the most recent one
Also the funniest thing that happened to my art imo is that only a year ago I had this philosophy that I don't want my art to be clean, I want it to be as messy as it can be and my line work was really wobbly and then one day a few month ago, suddenly, without any thought my line became super clean and now I can sit for hours to make it the way I want it to be

Thoughts after re-watching Taskmaster season 1:
- Romesh Ranganathan throwing the watermelon on the floor really was the funniest fucking thing that’s ever happened on TV. It really, really was. It was incredible. Not all the credit can go to Romesh, as it helps that it was well set up, contrasted against the previous more careful approaches. The editors get some credit. But Romesh gets most of the credit. Almost all of it. What an amazing thing to do.
It’s the lack of hesitation, I think. There were no cuts in the first bit of that segment. We see him go into the lab, see the watermelon for the first time, and not even break stride as he instantly walks across the room, picks up the watermelon, raises it over his head, and slams it onto the floor. Not stopping for one moment to consider whether this is the best idea. Every time I watch it, even four years after the first time, I can’t breathe for laughing.
- Romesh was very funny in general. I don’t actually know a huge amount about Romesh Ranganathan, except that he has so many TV shows he’s become other comedians’ shorthand for an extremely successful TV guy. I know he gets pitted against Rob Beckett at things in a show I haven't seen, and he was on that sports panel show that looked too horrible for me to touch even during the depths of my panel show phase, when I watched some pretty shit television. It’s not like Taskmaster is the only place I’ve seen Romesh; he’s turned up as an occasional guest on plenty of panel shows that I did watch. But he’s never made enough of an impression on me in other shows to stand out much in my mind. So I managed to forget that he really was a standout on Taskmaster, for how funny he was in nearly every situation. Obviously he played “livid comedian” very entertainingly, but he was also funny when grudgingly going along with things, when indignantly arguing, when visibly resigning himself to things (those might just be different ways to say “livid comedian”, but they are notably different variations that are each funny in their own ways).
- Tim Key and Romesh Ranganathan getting into physical fights in nearly every live task was amazingly funny. Why don’t people get into physical fights on Taskmaster live tasks anymore? It was the way they’d go looking for it. They didn’t just stumble over each other and go for it, they both went into each one planning to pick a fight. When they were blindfolded, they reached their arms out until they found each other so they could fight. That is commitment. There aren’t enough cage matches on panel shows.
- I also forgot how incredibly funny Roisin Conaty is. Unlike with Romesh, I haven’t forgotten about her in general or anything. I do think of Roisin as someone I really like as a guest on other people’s shows, I know she’s good value. But still, I forgot how amazingly good she was in a situation like Taskmaster that played to all her strengths. I think Roisin Conaty is very good at bouncing off other people and at blundering her way through things, and they just let her do that for six episodes straight. She made me laugh out loud so many times.
- That “high five a 55-year-old” task was amazingly funny. I understand why they wouldn’t do something like that again, not wanting to involve the public. There are very good reasons to not want to turn Taskmaster into some sort of prank show, the scourge of social media. Also, it would be harder to get away with such a thing now that Alex Horne is so much more famous than he was before season 1 of Taskmaster aired. If when I’m in London this summer, someone pulls me aside in a mall and asks my age, and the person who’s pulled me aside is Rhys James and I can see Alex Horne standing in the background, I’m going to have some idea of what’s going on.
However, for the one time they used it, it was fucking funny. Maybe the least “in character” I’ve ever seen Tim Key, as he suddenly dropped the mischievous personality when he had to actually do that shit in real life, walking toward people and then running away. Taskmaster is about genuinely upsetting comedians, and that was genuinely upsetting.
- I think Down An Octave is as close as you can get to a perfect episode of Taskmaster. Perfect balance of tasks – something open-ended where they could each come up with a creative way to solve a broad and simple problem (make the ice disappear), something convoluted where they had to find the exact specific way to get it right (score the most points in “squash”), and something that was just there to straight-up torture the comedians (fill the egg cup with tears). It featured a team task, which every great episode should have (the squash one). A nice open-ended prize task (most beautiful item). It had the first-ever task for only one person, with Josh counting the beans. And there was excellent banter in the studio throughout. No notes on that one.
- I’ve remembered Josh’s bean counting task, and re-watching that episode reminded me that it wasn’t just the beans, they made him do it three fucking times with three different foods. Josh was the perfect person to pick for that, too. Someone like Romesh just wouldn’t have done it. Frank would have half-assed it. Roisin would have blundered her way through it, which is usually funny, but in this case, it was Josh’s dedication to getting it right that made it funny. Tim would have found some way around it, which again is usually funny, but would have allowed him to defeat a task like this. This was funny because Josh was the one person who’d do it meticulously and properly.
- I know I’ve said this before, but a video of Daniel Kitson’s Tree has now been released, so we can all confirm that there was absolutely no reason why Tim Key’s character needed short fingernails for it. And he definitely wore shoes.
- They spent several seasons trying to recreate the magic of the first time they brought on Fred the Swede, and I think they came very close at times; a bunch of other Fred tasks have been very funny. But I don’t think any were quite as funny as the very first season. Watching Tim Key try so hard to make someone else blush that he accidentally just made himself blush instead. Roisin losing her mind and talking about back breasts. Romesh over-committing hard. Josh stuttering about the Emmanual films and Claudia Winkleman. You can’t beat it.
- I did notice overall, compared to more recent seasons, a lot more of contestants interacting directly with each other in the studio. I assume this is largely a consequence of the fact that most of them knew each other before the show. It was a smaller show then, Alex wasn’t drawing from all obscure corners of Britcom to find contestants. He was drawing from the pool of people he knew, so they tended to know each other too.
Romesh, Roisin, and Josh clearly all knew each other somewhat well (Romesh played a guest character in Josh Widdicombe’s sitcom at almost exactly the same time, who had about the same adversarial relationship with Josh’s character as the two of them had on Taskmaster, which I found quite funny when I watched that sitcom). And Roisin seems to be good friends with pretty much every comedian, as evidenced by her immediate rapport with any other comedian she gets paired with in any kind of show (often based on telling weird stories about her off-camera relationships with the other people on that episode). Tim Key was slightly more on the outside compared to the rest of them, but it shows how tight they all were that I’m calling the “outsider” of the studio banter the guy who was physically fighting Romesh in every live task. And of course there were Tim’s links to Alex and Roisin’s links to Greg.
(And everyone knows about Frank Skinner so I guess he was in there too. I don’t like Frank Skinner but I think I’ve already mentioned that fact, and why, too many times lately, so I’m trying to just ignore him in this post, rather than getting into all that again. The fact is that I can’t look at him without thinking of how many people I’ve known in real life who’ve been like him, and how awful they were, so even if it was 30 years ago and objectively no longer that big a deal, I subjectively can't get past it. I have no idea whether he’s objectively funny because I can’t enjoy him.)
They were just all all over each other, all the time. There were nearly as many interactions among the contestants as there were between the contestants and Greg or Alex. They were all commenting on each other’s choices, sometimes supportive but usually not. In more recent seasons, we can name specific arguments among contestants (ie. Bananagate from season 15), because they happen a few times a season. In season 1, you can hardly separate them out because they were after nearly every task (though a few do stand out, Pie Breachgate and Boxgate).
I do think the editors might be, for reasons I cannot fathom, screwing us over a bit on that in the most recent season. Sophie Willan mentioned, in the latest podcast episode, that there were a lot of arguments in the studio between John Robins and Steve Pemberton. Nick Mohammed said something very similar in his podcast episode, that he remembered sitting there quietly while sparks went off between those two. But we don't really see that in the edit. And I’ve spoken to someone who was in the studio audience for the one of the season 17 recordings, who told me about a couple of specific arguments between John and Steve in the studio (in both cases, John picking fights with Steve about stuff Steve did during the tasks, but Steve happily engaging). I was looking forward to seeing those arguments when that episode aired, but they were cut, and disappointingly, didn’t even appear in the outtakes. Why are the editors denying us studio friction? It was so funny in season 1!
It may have helped in season 1 that they were physically close together, in the smaller studio. Maybe they need to bring the smaller studio back. It’s easier to pick fights when you’re nearly sitting on top of each other. Made it feel more like a communal thing with all five of them sort of facing each other, rather than them all just going back and forth with Greg and Alex.
- This might tie in a bit to the previous point, but among other weird format things in season 1 (Greg doing little intros for each contestant, summaries of what we learned, much stingier with the points) was more cuts to reactions during the films of task attempts. Often shots of the contestant whose attempt is being shown, but also plenty of shots of other contestants looking shocked at what they’re doing. I’m not normally a fan of “reaction shots” in TV shows (they’re the absolute bane of stand-up specials), but I think they worked in this case, reminding us that they’re all a part of this.
- Overall, I greatly enjoyed that re-watch. There is a reason why I watched this season of Taskmaster and then decided I didn't want to watch anything else except these people and other things like this ever again. And that reason was not just Romesh throwing a watermelon on the floor. But a lot of it was Romesh throwing a watermelon on the floor.

hello, stoner anon here👋 triangle tires asami is my new favorite thing in the world, bless you. but now i must ask: you get three atla/lok characters for the blunt rotation. who are you picking and why?
Dude I was just thinking about you....did you sense my brain waves through the ether🧠⚡️?
1. That Earth Kingdom herbalist from atla, the one who gives Aang the frozen frogs for Katara and Sokka to suck on. I KNOW she grows good shit. She probably has secret panels in her greenhouse to hide the plants whenever there's a FN patrol nearby (Miyuki runs interference, that's why she's always getting into trouble with them)
2. Kya II. I think she'd be the most fun out of any character in the Avatar universe, and I also feel like she'd give really good advice? Only potential problem is that she's definitely the kind of older woman that calls younger people "hun" and you'd have to pretend to feel Totally Normal about that hahaha ha aha. Anyway.
3. Korra. She'd come up with new bending forms that look really stupid on purpose and are completely ineffective. Just the most flaccid limp dick water whip anyone's ever made, and it'll be the funniest thing you've seen in your life.
#bad bitch blunt rotation. to be honest.#herbalist has probably unlocked some kind of plant-based immortality so she's still alive in korra's era#anonymous#asks

What is your absolute favorite thing about Roy?
Oooh, this is a tough question, I love everything about Roy. If I had to pick, I'd say his relationships with younger people.
Obviously, the biggest example of that's Lian. Being a single father's such a compelling character trait, especially in a superhero setting, and it adds so much depth to his character. Even when Lian's not actively on-panel, the way Roy reacts to the world around him is constantly influenced by her existence. Hands down some of my favourite Roy panels are the ones where Roy forces himself to keep fighting when everything seems hopeless because otherwise Lian would be alone, when he bases his decisions on making Lian proud, or when Lian's in any sort of danger*. Lian shapes who he is, both as a hero and a person, and erasing her was maybe the stupidest decision DC ever made.
However, his relationships with younger heroes are also so endearing! A post by @/mysterycitrus made an amazing point about the significance of having a recovered addict being seen as a support figure to younger people, so absolutely go check that post out. Grant's the most obvious example, (which, a little bit of shameless self promo, but I wrote a fic of him and the Harpers which four people said was good so apparently it's worth the read) and the way that he and Grant interact is so telling of the type of person Roy is. Roy specifically requests Grant be added to the Titans '99 roster because he sees potential in Grant, and because he thinks that Grant wants that chance to prove himself again. However, when he realises just how much Grant has on his mind, he sees that superheroics isn't helping him so he gives Grant the chance to walk away. His relationships with Rose and Bart are also good examples of this within the Titans, and Bart respecting Roy more than Wally is one of the funniest/sweetest things to come from that era. Also the fact that Mia is explicitly inspired to become Speedy because of Roy, not just because of his accomplishments as a hero but also because of his recovery, is so sweet and an absolutely amazing message about how Roy's recovery is much more telling of his character than his addiction.
*An aside, while I hate talking about Rise of Arsenal because A) it makes me cry and B) it kinda had the same tone as a villain origin story, I do think that him killing the Electrocutioner was in character, and a good comparison point between He Who Is Incorrectly Labelled As DC's Best Dad and DC's Actual Best Dad. The differences between UtRH and Green Arrow #1 are also great for that.
Thank you so much for the ask!! :)
#yes i DID choose a vague response so I could talk about Lian Grant and Mia#roy harper#arsenal#speedy#confusedhummingbird

just finished reading naruto! through fandom osmosis i obviously had been spoiled on all the important plot points but it still made for an interesting read.
pros:
kakashi (from accounting?), killer bee, sakura are the goat
lesser goats are yamato (bro got thanos'd at the start of the last arc lmao), shikamaru (ofc), might guy (rip rock lee character arc ig)
sasuke getting disrespected by killer bee and madara disrespecting everyone was the best parts of the manga you feel me
sasuke kills danzo like thank fucking god and it is also the best fight engineering tbh like the guy who has been victimised by the system perpetuated by danzo is killing danzo also danzo harvested all those eyes from uchiha clan like wtf
IN A VACUUM sasuke and naruto final fight ties everything up. all things considered having this big fight right after obito->madara->kaguya+zetsu made no fucking sense
found it funny that sasuke was acting so edgy but his kill count is so low like theres this scene during orochimaru time when he stands over a 100 bodies and they're like damn sasuke you didnt kill a single one of them. and then when he met edotensei!itachi he basically did the equiv of laying down his arms so itachi could talk no jutsu him out of massacring konoha except itachi was like 'i have nothing more to say to you' like lmaoooo
also sasuke did the funniest thing ever by reviving orochimaru to get orochimaru to edo tensei the hokages to get THEM to talk no jutsu him into not massacring the village
sasuke being completely absent during pain arc and last arc (until the end) is really fucking funny like what did he even do man. walk around, kill time, sit around watching itachi genjutsu kabuto
tobirama being a hater in contrast to hashirama is the funniest thing ever and i love the dynamic
tobirama telling his brother to shut up
haha obito and kakashi shared sharingan panels :)
TRIPLE KUCHIYOSE SUMMONING BY TEAM 7
lee stealing neji's eyebrows meme
shikamaru's dad telling him to burn his pornos
might guy 8 gates vs ten tails madara stole rock lee's wig actually might guy just stole rock lee's whole schtick
the idea that kakashi would have murked himself after witnessing the death of almost everyone in his lives if it weren't for might guy is so funny
how tf did sasuke and naruto lie on the ground with their severed arms forming a heart shaped blood puddle and end up married not to each other
you cant tell me bkg is not based on sasuke but if like bkg didnt have a baggage of a dead brother and clan, same for aizawa with kakashi except kakashi is just cooler cos hrksh flopped
cons:
did NOT expect a prophecy and reincarnation plot point
sasuke was so annoying whenever team 7 met up with him and tried to get him to go back like they shld have just forgotten about him like sai told them to
naruto feels too much of a golden boy at the end of the madara arc when he starts to talk no jutsu obito if that makes sense. plus he gets so power upped its like an automatic win button for any fight now, anytime hes in trouble hes like 'omg kurama give me more chakra dattebayo' and suddenly hes fine
also his friendship w kurama was shoved in so abruptly like kurama literally (really) talked to him for the first time during the last arc and warmed up to him in the middle of the fight with madara(??) like cmon at least drag it out and start during the pain arc
team 7 went for like 1 mission and you expect me to believe now they wld die for sasuke
sasuke (tries to) kill sakura like at least 2 times and one of those moments happens 7 chapters before the end of the manga how are they still together
how the fuck did naruto say 'wow... sasuke and i really r compatible... wind exists to boost fire...' with a straight face like cmon
pencil holder neji :( it felt like he rly just died to further the naruhina plot point like why
obito obsessing an unhealthy amount over dead rin like ig its consistent
how is infinite tsukuyomi even a paradise like bro you could genjutsu yourself to the same effect if that even makes any sense and it wouldn't be any diff + what happens if the chakra used to sustain tsukuyomi runs out anyway what im saying is that sasuke was more onto something with the whole destroying and building anew that what obito and madara were on
rip sakura. girl was like 'i can fight with you two now' w kaguya and then instantly had to be saved by naruto (this also happened with sai 'i am part of team 7 too you know!' like rip)
TALKING ABOUT WHICH they're literally in the final fight against kaguya who transports them into the lava and sasuke saves naruto with his summoned hawk but doesn't give a shit about sakura (and kakashi) and naruto has to point out WHERES SAKURA and turns out kakashi saved sakura (and obito) with his quick thinking and reflexes like what the fuck sasuke this was ur future wife what was kishimoto thinking
also sasuke right after that states that only naruto and sasuke can seal kaguya meaning if they die its game over meaning everyone else was second priority (so basically just abandon kakashi and sakura)
wait in retrospect literally after that sakura and obito go on to save sasuke via tping to where he is like????/ sasuke you kinda suck ass methinks
naruto and sasuke going from tag teaming to ripping off each others arm is the stupidest segue ever
SAKURA SHOULD HAVE LEARNED GENJUTSU AND USED IT IN BATTLES BECAUSE WHAT WAS THE POINT OF KAKASHI SAYING SHE HAD POTENTIAL IN GENJUTSU IF-
why the fuck did kishimoto feel the need to do the thing where a side character goes 'i can help now!! we can pitch in to support!! we are not weak anymore!!' and then get instantly bodied so they need to be bailed out by naruto
anyway it just goes to show writing climaxes and final battles r hard i guess. the only good 'fighting' mangas that had these r like. fma. chihayafuru (except i forgot how the fight ended). (bnhas kinda sucked for me cos i feel nothing for shiggy) (bleach final arc kinda sucked ass in general and ichigo shld have just ended after losing his powers as closure). oh but konosuba is pretty good tho (konosuba is just good fullstop lmao the ln is so tight in mixing plot points disguised as filler)
anyway if kishi or whoever did a rewrite of itachi pov id be down bc imagine being that guy who massacred his entire village for his brother and then spent years rogue in an organization and then died and then edo tensei'd to disrespect kabuto and then have the best talk no jutsu in the manga w naruto and sasuke which he could have used before he died on sasuke

Black Butler racism (or just overall bigotry) is the funniest shit ever (no it isn't. It's awful) because. Black Butler somehow got better. And worse. Spoilers under the cut for Baldroys backstory btw.
Please try not to take this as an entirely anti-black butler sort of argument. I was thinking about this in passing and thought it was something worth discussing. So DON'T COME AT ME!!!
I'm gonna start off with the easiest and earliest examples of racism.
Soma and Agni-! Wow... so I'd argue in the beginning Soma was based off of, I wouldn't say harmless stereotypes, but stereotypes that weren't applied with malice. He's a prince with like. 26+ siblings so he never really had a chance for the throne.
The 26+ siblings is... an unfortunate common stereotype applied to brown people, more specifically muslim. Soma is from Bengal and depending on where, there could be a high muslim population. But Soma is hindu. Either way, it's not. Good. To portray brown people like this. Like having 20+ kids that is a bad look. Indians do have big families, I should know, but not to that extreme and it has weird implications. Also when Soma tells Mey Rin to strip because painting naked women is better... yikes
Here is the harmful part: his and Agni's worship of Ma Kali is treated as a joke. Like ohhh look at this scary demonic hindu goddess!!! Even sebastian is weirded out and he's a demon!!! LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. :/
BUT. but. This. PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE SINOPHOBIA. Holy shitttt Lau... oh my god he is like a stereotype from mf Tintin. The opium den and the Chinese girl in skimpy clothing is crazy (and the implied incest??? What is ran mao to him again??? Theyre like siblings right???)... It really fucking sucks that the way hes portrayed almost implies that Chinese people wanted the opium crisis rather than you know. Having it pushed onto them by the British . I can be upset about Soma all I want but damn... maybe indian people did get the good end of the stick.
And, it's weird right? It's weird how one minority that normally isn't treated seriously can escape with relatively minor stereotyping compared to. TO THE SHIT TON OF OPIUM. Of course there's a lot of historical things going on, but wow the sinophobia is nuts.
I do think the main problem is somewhat classism. Victims are treated brutes for retaliating. Like that one miniarc where indian immigrants were tying up British nobles that visited India because they were angry that they were used and tossed aside and can't go back home. Soma, one of the few indians treated with sympathy, is a prince. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE WHAT THEY DID TO MINA... she was rightfully upset. The caste system is a terrible thing and she wanted to escape that, and she's the bitch? She isn't gentle to Soma, but she's in the right.
Black Butler has evolved as a story significantly since the beginning and when I say it's kind of gotten better I mean, the characters have evolved so much they can no longer rely on stereotypes. We have to take Soma and Agni seriously, they are no longer just some funny foreigners. LAU DOESN'T EVEN DO OPIUM ANYMORE AFAIK... that was like 50% of his personality and she got rid of it lmao.
edit: i lied he still does opium its just that isnt his personality anymore.
And that's a good thing! They shouldn't have been portrayed in such ways in the beginning. Stereotyping is just objectively shit writing. But also yeah shitty thing to do to minorities.
I think one of the most beautiful cultural references made later on is post Agni's death, when Soma has had enough and finally snaps. The panel that says "he has gone down the path of Maa Kali" is so poetic and my roman empire . It's a good reference back to the deity they worship, but instead of her being treated as something to ridicule or be scared of, it shows how Soma's personality, and background has lead him to who he is today. I think it's beautiful! I'm happy Soma is in the story because of that.
The same can be said about the slight transphobia with Grell in the beginning. NOW I know in the beginning, there wasn't a particular word for trans women or people in general so a word referring to effeminate/gay men or crossdressers was used. This isn't about that, language changes etc etc. Its moreso how she was portrayed as like, a sicko serial killer. Like yk, negative trans stereotypes. But over time she was recognized as a woman and gets to be her own character. Which is awesome! It's good that shes been viewed more postively over time.
Now... here's where things might be getting worse.
Baldroys backstory pisses me off. The idea that native americans were like ravaging his hometown and killed his innocent family. He even says something like how he knows their land got stolen so their reaction was probably justified but he doesn't care. It just. It just feels like siding with the colonizers you know? Like perpetuating these stereotypes to give people a reason to be "afraid". I know conflict was pretty rampant back then but there's just certain things people should be careful with when portraying... and I don't think Black Butler did a good job. I was really surprised to see that it was from a recent chapter bc it honestly read like something from the older ones.
AT LEAST we finally got a black grim reaper wooo mama

Jared Sunday Solo Panel JIB11
He is looking so handsome! He says he finally got some sleep, that last night the group had gone out to dinner but he was too tired so he decided to stay and get some rest so he's feeling much better this morning.
Funniest Walker scene to shoot? He has a lot of fun on that show, and he tries to make people laugh and keep the energy kind of light. There's a scene where they kind of introduce Cassie's character and during the scene he did something and heard the director and a few people in the video village start laughing, it was the bit where they're in Captain James office and Cassie says she doesn't control speed bumps and he looked at her and moved his chair away from her. So just kinda bits where Walker who is this heroic guy is kind of acting childish makes him laugh a lot. They have a good time, they say it's not a comedy but they hope people laugh. x
Is he going to be reunited with Matt Barr on Walker? He teases that we might see Matt again 👀👀👀👀 Says he loves Matt and that they're hanging out this summer as well, he's (Matt) getting married. x
Was it a stunt double during the part of the horse race for the ranch where Cordell's saddle snaps? He does a lot of the horse stuff but that was a stunt double. Chad Dashnaw his stunt double and stunt coordinator was the one to do it but Jared wanted to learn to do it so he offered to teach him how to do it; says he does a lot of the horse riding but the stunts he wanted to do it but because of insurance purposes they probably wouldn't have let him do it anyways in case something happened to his knee.
Was there ever a stunt that he has seen his stunt double do and he's been so grateful for having a stunt double, or vice versa that he's seen them do and wanted to do it? In Walker specifically the car crashes scare him cause imost of the stunts even though they look great on camera you kinda know what's about to happen, it's a dance. The stunt on Walker Independence, the one where his character drops from the horse, that looked like it hurt and he could see it in Chad's face but he did it again he thinks maybe two more times. But in general car accidents because you don't know what's gonna happen. They hope for the best, hope it goes where they want it and it never does they've had a few cars flips and thos- they have roll cages and all that but still he wouldn't want to be in that car, and they take all the combustible stuff out so it can't get punctured and blow up for real. He thinks it's also becasue of his car accident in April that he might have some PTSD when it comes to scenes like that 😭. x
He tends to sit a little differently on chairs, has he ever fallen off one on stage? On stage he hopes not, he can't think of when but he thinks it's just cozier for him to sit the way he does. x
What are three things he would take on a dessert island? He would want to read so he guesses he would take an Ipad so he could download a bunch of books, the crowd starts to chuckle and he's confused as to why until they point out he would need a charger so he says he would take two chargers 😆 He would take a solar charger and something to cook, pictures of loved ones, books, a charger and something to charge the charger with- he needs to think about it🤣 x
What would he advise to cope with the feeling of emptiness that comes when something you've been waiting for so long ends? There's a quote that he doesn't remember exactly but it's something like "don't be sad it ended be happy it happened". And they get a little sad too when the cons are over but the memories are still around so think of all the fun stuff you got to, and new friend that you've made. x
Was it on purpose to leave things open with his character on Walker Independence? And if there's someone walking around looking so much like Cordell surely he must be in Abby's family tree somewhere, is that something they tought about at all? They did think about it, they didn't know how incestous they wanted to be 😂
He does hope to be on Walker Independence again, that is the plan. x
When someone is possessed by a demon, and other didn't know, and he should get an anti possession tattoo what would happen? He thinks you have to trap the demon and exorcise it, ideally if you care about the person you don't wanna just stab them. x
Which version of Sam was the most challenging to play and which one was the most fun to play? He thinks soulless!Sam was the most fun for him to play but it was also the most daunting one for him to figure out what he was going to do cause it had never been done on the show. Most challenging would be Gadreel-Ezekiel because he had to do the transitions within a scene, soulless Sam was soulless from action to cut whereas when he was Sam and then he'd bust into angel form it was something different that he hadn't really done, he didn't know how it was gonna happen, and he hadn't seen the visual effects yet to know that he'd have some help but that it was a lot of fun. x
Does he have any intel he could share about wether the CW is going to continue with scripted tv and if not does he have alternate plans about other platforms he could use? He doesn't know. The new leadership of the CW has announced that it's kind of changing directions he doesn't know what that direction will be; he's been proud to be with CW since day one, he and Jensen pre-dated the CW so it's been an honor to call the CW his home for the last 17yrs. If he was born a couple hundred years ago he'd be the court jester is he doesn't make the King laugh off with his head so he's grateful to have lived the life he's lived and meet the friends he's met, and travelled the places he's travelled by playing pretend, it's a blessing and he's grateful for it everyday. So if the CW does go a different direction and thinks it's no longer the home for a show like Walker and Walker Independence they do have other options. But that's up to the CW it'd be an honor to keep calling it home, that he's been the only person whose been number one on the call sheet of a CW show every time there's a new episode airing every week for 17yrs so he'd love that to carry on, that it'd be an honor.
And he has talked to some of the new people at the CW, and talked to long time friends who are no longer at the CW and they say the people who replaced us are wonderful and kind and they really want this to work and they want it to be profitable so that it makes sense. That it is anxiety inducing but whatever happens happens. x
Is there something he can share about the SPN Christmas episode? He loved the episode and he remembers filming it,and of course spiking Jensen eggnog, that they had a great time. He thinks they shot it around October, which around October in Van is possibly his favorite time of year in any city he's ever been to, it starts to get into fall, and there's a smell in the air and the city's so beautiful so it felt kind Christmas-y because it was cooler and it's kind of like this great holiday feeling while shooting which doesn't happen often so that was nice. They had a good time, and s3 was a strange time for them as well because they were starting to introduce characters that didn't ultimately stay or in the case of one character they stayed but in a different body, so it felt markedly different than seasons 1 and 2. And it was nice, it felt like they were finding their groove, seasons 1 they didn't know what the show was gonna be yet and season 2 they kinda added some characters and they were still trying to figure out what was working and what wasn't, and where they were gonna go with the show if it kept going.
There were a few things that happen in a third season back in the day, you would kinda go if a show has gone on for three seasons and it's staying strong then it makes sense that it'll go on for a fourth and so there was a feeling of confidence that they could go like 'all right, well we must be doing something right and hopefully they want us to keep doing it'. It was a good time in his life. x

Not a Zucest shipper (more into Maiko) but that scene where Azula isn't wearing makeup and she and Zuko are in her bedroom and she's all touchy-feely towards him was honestly more sexual and intimate than the Zvtara cave scene. Honestly I would argue that Azula is a lot more on his mind than Katara, who only comes to mind when she's convenient for tracking down Aang. Heck, I would even argue Zuko has more chemistry and investment with Aang than he does with Katara.
Maiko might not be my OTP but it is still a personal favorite because MY GOD, these two are clingy with each other and it's so fucking cute.
Zuko and Aang's friendship is legitimately one of the best parts of the show, and, ironically enough, their dynamic is the closest the show ever got to the fanon zutara idea of "this hero can tell the bad guy has a heart and wants to offer him the chance of being a better person", only without the romance part - but it could have totally made for a perfectly reasonable endgame if just a few details had been changed.
Plus everything about them meeting the dragons was absolutely iconic, from "I don't care what people said, you're pretty smart", to Zuko suggesting they think about their place in the universe, to AANG ASKING ZUKO TO DANCE WITH HIM, to Zuko looking Aang straight (hehehe) in the face and going "You are source of my fire by the way. No homo."
I just love it whenever these two are on-screen together.
As for the bedroom scene between Zuko and Azula in the awakening... oh boy, did my mind go straight to the gutter the first time I saw it (and every time after that too).
Grey Delisle, iconic voice actor, former stripper, and former narrator of trailers for porno movies, really took a look at this scene of her character's older brother coming to her bedroom in the middle of the night and thought "Wouldn't it be really funny if I added some incest vibes here?" (not that the animation itself made it all that difficult).
And yeah, Azula was definitively in Zuko's mind ALL THE TIME. Like, this boy was trapped in a cave during a snow storm, Aang's soul had literally left his body and, for some fucking reason, he just... starts venting about the sister he has not seen in years. Like, I KNOW they are just setting up Azula as the villain of the second season, but that came out of nowhere!
And him imagining her as the blue dragon that represents temptation and is whispering in his ear stuff like "Just give into it" and asking when he will be going to his bedroom, even after he said he doesn't feel like sleeping... buddy. Buddy. What the hell is this?
Also I can't find that video anymore, but there was some panel Bryke was at in which they were "suggesting" many ships to the audience - and one just happened to be Azula and The Blue Spirit. If someone has a link to it, please send it to me because the audience's outraged reaction was the funniest fucking thing.
In case any of you want to see Grey being chaotic as fuck, and making Dante all embarrassed (and flirting with him) I recommend you check out these videos because they are HILARIOUS!

The BoBoBōBo - BōBoBo Theory
Is pretty simple.
It's about the current chapters of the Takaba vs Kenjaku fight being titled after chapters of this manga from 2001.
We even see this exact volume of BoBo in a panel inside Takaba's room. In other words, we have 3 chapters to go before this concludes so what would that look like on a calendar?
In Europe and the US, the official release of the new chapters is on Sundays. Curiously, the current fights take place on the 24th of December, Christmas Eve. Let's remember that Gojo chose that date for his fight against Sukuna and Kenjaku because he didn't want to remember 2 dates for Geto's deaths.
The one month timeskip that happened after Gojo came out of the box could have been 1 week, 3 months or two years. Gege could've made up any reason to make that timeskip bigger or smaller or he could've chosen any other date for that fight like Megumi's birthday.
But he, Gege, definitely looked at the calendar and thought "wow, this fits perfectly, I'm an opportunistic genius". Because if we add Gege's one week break into the mix, then the 26th, the 3rd, the 10th and the 17th will be over when this Foolish Survivor mini arc ends.
And that brings us back to the Shinjuku Showdown on the 24th. A date that has no meaning to Sukuna and Uraume and while it is connected to Kenjaku, his story will be over with that mini arc for now, so who is left to appreciate this date?
Two idiots chilling at an airport maybe?
Gege made it so that the in universe date and the date of the release (outside of Japan) match, so now he has the chance to do the funniest thing ever.
My prediction is that we get a flashforward of Yuji's fight (or just them fighting at a critical moment) with Gojo and Geto crammed at the end talking wistfully with each other.
Gojo is a little too okay with having died but Geto isn't and reminds him that he has stuff to do. As the last panel of the chapter, we see Shoko (and maybe Angel) approaching bisected Gojo. She is not pleased with what she sees and is ready to show us the readers for the first time(!) how her technique works, maybe even with a Domain Expansion.

So remember Drakkon? Tommy Oliver if he sucked? The only thing that kept the Power Rangers side of the main series interesting? Well he’s back!!!! He’s back and making new friends (Kiya, who wants to kill him) and reuniting with old friends (the Coinless Rangers, who want to kill him) to fight against Dark Specter, who wants to kill all of them. Let’s see what wacky shenanigans they get up to in Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless!
- remember what i said about this book having old woman yuri? yeah.
- not to be weird but I totally get Drakkon’s smile rn. I would also be super happy if Scorpina was on top of me about to murder me
- MURDER WIFE [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE FROM THE SITCOM AUDIENCE]
- you ever get saved from street execution by your ex-wife and immediately start nagging her. he’s such an asshole
- THREATENING LETHAL VIOLENCE JUST REUNION WITH YOUR EX THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!
- ignoring how he sucks this is our first confirmation that the events of DND were important to this book (Dark Specter refers to this as the first world he conquered, so I guess the idea is it’s because he was summoned through the Deadlock opening) though Evil Andros isn’t mentioned or referenced in any way. So I don’t know if he’ll be important later or if he’ll just be quietly written off as having been killed by this point
- Kiya just doesn’t have the headspace to even try and figure out the weird anti-divorce dynamic being laid out in front of her and I don’t blame her. Finster-5 gets more points for literally not even listening to them (he’s been dealing with them for over a decade)
- "keep zombie loved one hidden as a way to keep them safe and possibly get through to them even though it’ll inevitably come back to bite you in the ass” is an inherently gay trope
- Honestly, between the White powers being unable to be split and Drakkon refusing to give up the Green coin, this is more respect for Tommy’s powers and more analysis of Tommy’s feelings towards them than the main series have done..................since Necessary Evil
- ZACK/KIM IN THESE COMICS AGAIN?!????!?? IT’S A GODDAMN MIRACLE
- yes it sucks that Zack had to be the one sacrificed here but at least it’s giving him more narrative and emotional importance than he has in ages
- and heyyyyy we got a little explanation of where the fuck the Triceratops coin has been these past few Coinless stories! Trini had it and refused to let anyone else take it in order to keep Billy close to her. Simple, but effective
- CAN YOU TWO JUST...........................I DON’T EVEN KNOW. KNOCK IT OFF
- you know I didn’t think you could make Drakkon and Slayer’s dynamic even funnier but turns out what you had to do was add a bloodthirsty daughter who really wants to kill her horrible new dad
- oh.........i hoped you would be dead, tbh
- remember how I said in my one ask Drakkon and Slayer get pissed if the other gets hurt by someone else? yeah.
- and yeah. This one wins though for being probably the funniest sequences of panels in the book. Just casually stopping the fifth attempted murder of your ex that day
- AND YEAH. this one is just insane though
- oh look it’s the sequence that made me want to chew through my walls at five am on a Wednesday morning
- HE’S SO FUCKING PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this scene was described to me as “he said ‘it’s all yours’ to Dark Specter but apparently he meant everything except Kim” and i just GHRHGHRHGHRGHRHRH
- [sobbing] old woman yuri
- tfw you acted like a dick to people grieving a lost loved one the entire book but now it happened to you and it fucking SUCKS
so yeah obviously I hate that Slayer was captured and is more than likely going to end up possessed this entire event BUT looking at it from a story perspective
a) Slayer’s too popular and too crucial to the Coinless World for her to be killed off. She’ll be back
b) If they’re going where I think they’re going with Drakkon’s development here taking out Slayer is the way to do it. That page in particular was very clearly setting up that this is meant to hit him personally and possibly be the moment where he finally “wakes up” in a sense
c) POTENTIAL FOR POSSESSED!SLAYER VS DRAKKON FIGHT.....................

Pgs. 214-247
it’s her.
Rope Lalope.
icon for weird goths who for some reason decide to live in the Midwest, those who can somehow still enjoy Lovecraft while knowing the truth of his fucking cat, and
I don’t think WLW ships have ever been the same since the advent of The Rosemary from The Homestuck,
or if I want to sound like a fuckin goofy ass oldhead, femslash.
the thing is that I cannot identify any actual concrete change in general fandom and shipping post-HS, I just feel it. I can feel that something within the universe’s structure changed the moment grimdark gorl and sparkly gay vampire got together.
but I’m talking about a character that hasn’t even shown up yet.
also front facing Rose is fucking haunting stop please.
[insert dabbing joke here.]
the fucking haunting violin refrain flash is so good I love how her movements sync up with the song.
not gonna gush about Aggrieve the same way as Showtime because come on it’s fucking Showtime, but Aggrieve is still very much up there.
Since your good for nothing friend is obviously not going to bail you out in time, you issue words of parting fondness to dear, sweet Liv. Oh, if only Affleck could have been the one to make the final sacrifice instead of her stubborn, blue collar, salt-of-the-earth father. Then she would fall into your arms for consolation, and YOU would be the one to make the deceased Bruce Willis proud.
the crush on Liv Tyler is not explored enough in fandom, I need to know how much John imprints her on his other romance options. how much of a Liv Tyler is Vriska, these are the fucking questions people.
Your panoramic window offers a view of your yard below, and the mausoleum housing your dead cat, JASPERS, who died when you were young. Your MOM had the structure erected with a spirit of scornful IRONY in response to your youthfully innocent request to hold a funeral for the animal. At least, that is how you have come to interpret the gesture in retrospect.
compared to John’s struggle with the clownkind, Rose has a much more grounded strife with her parental figure.
I say that but Rose takes this shit to an 11.
regardless, a parent that constantly performs malicious compliance with a hint of irony isn’t unbelievable, neither is someone fooling themselves into thinking their guardian is operating as such due to a general disconnect and the feeling of not having enough attention.
with all of this established,
it’s still really fucking funny,
because Rose will stare down Mom with sheer contempt thinking SHE’S FUCKING WITH YOU! SHE’S TRYING TO GET TO YOU! DO NOT GIVE IN TO HER GAMES!” as she stands around vacuuming jackshit, probably having no thoughts in her fucking head except for “I love household chores. :))))))”
WIZARDS.RAR.
genuinely the funniest story surrounding Homestuck, Andrew Hussie risked their entire PC for a bunch of fucking stupid wizard pngs.
the Egberts do high action cake forcefeeding, the Lalondes do drunken covert operations, the Striders DO MAD NINJA TRICKS.
GIRL IS DRENCHED.
early HS art is so fucking pretty. everyone’s always on about the kids looking like bobbleheads and that’s good but the environments are so fucking good as well.
iconic panel, banger panel. look at how her knees do the swirly thing.
CRINGE MAC USER.
you’re making the John nervous!!! Egberts only do this under high stress!!! help him!!!
TT: And the content of the card appears to be variable from session to session. TT: In one instance it was described as an "eggy loking thign" [sic].
presenting without comment.
“John: Take bite of apple.” is a really good ending flash in which John takes a bite out of an apple
and then gets fucking nuked.
the act then ends there.
a marvel that the only reason John lived was because he did what looked like the goofiest option ever. did the apple even taste good? what the fuck is cruxite made of???? I guess it’s edible??? might be candy, is it candy??? do they come in different flavors???
after way too long, Act 1 is finally fucking done, yet the more I read it, the shorter it feels. I can’t tell if it’s because I don’t need to absorb the tutorial stuff due to being familiar with the comic already, or because I’m anticipating when shit really goes crazy later on. maybe a bit of both. it certainly preps me for the art style, the flowery language, the weird humor, and so on.
I can say that Act 1 is
fine.
it is of good quality.
nothing groundbreaking and not the best,
but enjoyable nonetheless.
I get that it’s a bit slow and nothing really happens, but I’m able to entertain myself with the page to page shenanigans and good character interactions.
honestly I don’t understand how people skipped this act at all, how the fuck do you skip the start of the story??? don’t you want to like
understand
what is happening
and who these people are???
especially the later part, so much Homestuck skipping was for the sake of immediately getting to the character interactions, but
there are character interactions here,
and
you learn who the characters even are.
like what the fuck, the introduction to the characters and their dynamics should be key to being invested in them, but I guess not because some people were able to just jump in the middle and grow attached while not knowing what the fuck is going on.
in conclusion: people who skipped Act 1 are cringe, and have doomed themselves. Act 1 good.
