Oh my GoD hear me out! Wolf Beastman!Kim Rok Soo

I know, sounds kinda weird but just shush and listen!

So, KRS goes wooooop~ all the way to the TBOAH[calling it BOH for short] world, but instead of swaping with Cale he instead becomes his own 'character', and is in fact a member of the Black Wolf Beastman Tribe. Why black? Because black wolves are rad as hell and KRS just gives me "Black Wolf" energy.

NOW! At first, KRS doens't know that he's in the BOH world, because he woke up alone in the forest. Is he the last member of the Black Wolf Tribe? Was it even a tribe at all? Was KRS actually from a differnet tribe but got kicked out due to his rare/ominous fur color? I haven't decided on that yet, but either way he's now a Lone Wolf![I've decided. It's part of the edit]

KRS is pretty much just living his best Wolfy life, he's traveling, adjusting to his new body, learning how to hunt and shift, and he gets to sleep whenever the fur he wants so he's actually enjoying himself more than he thought.[except he is so so lonely. Wolves should not be alone, Lone wolves suffer a lot due to their need of pack so even if KRS won't admit it, hes suffering emotionally]

After making a small territory is a seemingly quiet forest, he smells smoke and blood and hears screaming, and because he "doesn't want to chance the fire getting to his territory", he goes to check it out and finds the Blue Wolf Tribe already slaughtered, excpet for the children. Now, because KRS is too soft, even if he won't admit it, he tried to help the kids. They're wary of him, since obviously he's a stranger, but he brings them food and healing herbs he was able to sniff out. It isn't until KRS sees Lock that he realizes he's in BOH.

After the pups seem well fed and healed from any injuries, KRS tries to leave. He knows being around Lock will get him pulled into the plot, and he wants no part of. Except now the pups have come to see him as their new caretaker....Kim Rok Soo: you are the father!

Still thinking about what would happen after this though. Any suggestions?

How do you guys feel about KRS being able to have a wolf form? I know the Blue wolves don't seem to be able to shift like On and Hong can, but I really want Rok Soo to be a huge wolf with like 15 kids dog piled on top of him...

Edit:

So for this timeline I think I've decided that; the Harris Village attack and the Wolf Tribe attack dates were switched. So instead of "the unknown organization" attacking Harris first, they did the wolf tribe first.

I've also decided that Black Wolf Tribe was a thing, but the "Unknown Organization" got to them first, and the reason KRS is alone in the frist place is because he was the only survivor, similar to Lock in the original timeline.

Rok Soo isn't aware of this change though, and thinks Harris Village has already been destroyed so his plan is to go to Harris Village and rebuild so the pups have a new home, and the KRS will start a small Village or something there.

Lock does go berserk as in Canon, but with nobody else around KRS is the one taht has to take his attacks, pretty much cementing their bond.

How would Sirius have reacted if he had still been alive at the Battle of Hogwarts finale?

Well, it probably wouldn’t be good. He’d probably feel like it was his fault for losing track of Harry during the battle, but I think that he’d want to make sure Harry didn’t die in vain even though his whole reason for being is now gone. I also feel like he might not even register what it meant to lose Harry—I think he has a cool enough response to James’s death that he would dedicate himself to avenging Harry in that moment. Sirius, at first glance, strikes me as the howling in anguish type, but his actions after James dies contradicts that. “White and shaking” implies that he can’t quite believe what’s happened—so maybe Sirius becomes filled with purpose without caring about his own life. Maybe he goes completely berserker mode on the Death Eaters. Which I’d like to see, honestly.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Well the posted fic is a Berserk fic, but I have various other wips that I pick away at when I'm bored. Among them include Eyeshield 21, MDZS, RotE, Harry Potter (technically?). Those are the most recent ones anyway.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Chain of Dissent, she's my favorite fic <3 (she's my only fic)

5. Do you respond to comments?

Yeah I try to! Though I'll admit uhhhh I haven't updated it in... fucking? two years? god, and so I've been bad about responding to the more recent comments because I feel guilty for not updating in so long :') Really gotta get back to it.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

None, because I haven't finished a fic yet lol

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Not so far! I've gotten a couple of comments that come across as unintentionally mildly rude, but definitely nothing that constitutes as hate.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Well not so far in CoD, but, ahem, I have written smut in one of my wips lol. Deeply self indulgent but I guess character driven? It's mildly nasty and desperate <3

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I haven't actually written a crossover (yet. well, recently) but they are a bit of a passion of mine lmao. I love ridiculous crossovers, and I'm talking about "a magical portal opens up and throws characters from fandom A into the world (& characters) of fandom B" type shit. I don't need the ways in which the characters interact to make sense, I just want them to be thrown together and see where it goes from there. Fish out of water shenanigans! Characters questioning their own motivations and idea of life by seeing a world entirely different from theirs!! Just like, fun shit! I also absolutely don't need for the two fandoms to be similar lol. I have a somewhat detailed Berserk/Eyeshield 21 crossover living rent free in my head so clearly anything goes.

Not that I'm aware of.

Lol no.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I'll probably have to say GriffGuts, because it's a ship that's gripped me by the neck for the past 7 years or something, where my interest in it hasn't really waned.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Uhhhh, idk? I mean I am DETERMINED to finish CoD, so that's out. And the wips I write in my spare time are just like, things I do for fun where I don't put any pressure on myself over it. I'm not planning on posting them anywhere, and I'm not generally planning on 'finishing' them either. I mean if I do finish one, I might post it, but again, they're low key things that I'm not taking too seriously.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Hm. I honestly don't consider myself a very strong writer, at least in terms of things like prose and sentence structure, grammar, that sort of thing. I think I'm pretty decent at figuring out the direction that I want the story to go, and all the individual steps that need to happen to get to that point in a way that feels organic (at least, imo.) And I like to think I'm pretty good at characterization-- having the characters behaving and reacting in ways that feel like could concievably happen in canon is generally what I'm going for.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Yeah prose, lol. I mean, I don't actually dislike my more.... utilitarian writing style, mainly because I generally prefer reading more direct writing (unless the lyrical writing is really really good), but I do think I could inject some more illustrative details and metaphors into my writing overall. @marley-manson is SO good at coming up with perfect metaphors to describe a situation or feeling, all while perfectly recreating the character's voice, and I really admire that about her writing!

I also want to get better with having characters like, doing things while they're talking. I find a lot of the conversations I write happen between characters just kind of standing around, which obviously is fine but I'd like to construct scenes with a bit more specificity in the future.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Wait so like, say in a fic that is otherwise written in English, having a line of dialogue written in Spanish when a character is speaking it? I... don't have strong feelings about it one way or the other I guess lol. I mean ideally the line(s) written in the other language are correct lol, and not just badly google translated or something.

Though you know, now that I think about it, I feel like it would work best between languages that use the same alphabet (which does end up narrowing the possible languages down quite a lot) because that way the reader can still sound out the dialogue even if the don't understand the language, which could emulate what the pov character is experiencing. Whereas if it was a fic written in English, and then had a line written in, say, Japanese, the reader wouldn't even be able to sound it out so it's kind of a brick wall. (Unless there's footnotes, but that tends to be a little more clunky in fic than in a published book with pages).

If the readers are supposed to understand the dialogue written in another language, like two characters suddenly start speaking in said other language and we're meant to keep up with the conversation, then I feel like it's just easier to translate their words in whatever language the fic is written in otherwise.

But yeah idk, I think with intent and good execution, anything can work, but it could also be done in a way that's more annoying than anything.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I think. It was neopets LMFAO. I remember writing a fic when I was like 10 about Hannah (the adventurer) and Jacques (from the maraqua plot comic) as a romantic couple because I was annoyed at the time that there were multiple fics about Hannah and Garin (or whatever his name was, also from the maraqua plot) getting together even though I thought Garin was BORING and they were just shipped together because they were both usuls (which are overrated imho), even though Jacque was obviously better.

... I may have had a crush on Jacques.

But the first fic that I think I posted anywhere was for Xiaolin Showdown lmfao, probably also when I was 10 or 11 or something. I wrote like four separate fics for that show.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Yeah it's CoD lol. It's the longest thing I've written so far, and I'm overall still very proud of it. I'd probably go back and change some things in the first chapter because it reads a little clunky and like, abrupt to me now, but I'm not doing that until I finish the fic. Allowing myself to go back and edit stuff before I've even finished the story seems like a road to ruin lol.

I love the fact that Draco willingly annoys/antagonize people who can and has kicked his ass. He's that desperate for attention. Either that or he's a masochist. I think Draco secretly gets a kick out of seeing how far he can push people. Especially after getting a punched in the face by Hermione. Even if it ends badly for him he still seeks it out. Which is kinda sad when you think about it. He has no true friends. Lucius is his dad. And he seeks attention by annoying the hell out of Harry and his friends till they snap.

Oh yes, I too see Draco as someone who’s be taunting people relentlessly just to see how far he can go. And when the shit got real (book 6) his taunts became almost non-existent because he no longer cared for it.

I strongly believe that Malfoys loved and adored Draco fiercely. In book 1 we’re shown that he’s constantly getting home-cooked sweets, in book 3 Lucius goes full berserk over an animal hurting his son (I don’t support killing animals for their normal reactions but I can see his reasoning of “MY BABY’S BEEN HURT”). In book 2 his exasperated with “yes, Draco, you told me all about it” in regards to Harry (I don’t remember the exact quote) which implies that each and every time Draco went on on his rant over Harry Lucius listened. And Narcissa’s love for her child is simply unquestionable. I always loved the moment at the very end of book 7, when the fighting resumed but Malfoys couldn’t care less and were just running through it looking for their son. (WHO DIDN’T LEAVE HOGWARTS EVEN AFTER HARRY’S “DEATH” DESPITE EVERYTHING LOOKING AS IF HOGWARTS LOST! Will never forgive the film for screwing this up. HE. STAYED. IN. HOGWARTS. AND. DIDN’T. REJOIN. VOLDEMORT’S. SIDE. AS. SOON. AS. HE. HAD. A. CHOICE.)

To me, Draco does sick attention with his taunts not because he lacks that attention home, but because he’s so used to be the center of attention for his parents that he can’t grasp the idea of not being it in school. To him not having friends… we don’t know anything about it so the sky is the limit here. He was genuinely broken and distraught with Crabbe’s death in book 7, so we know he at least truly cared for him. I always thought that he and Pansy were good/best friends, perhaps they too grew up together (with their fathers being “colleagues”) and I also always liked the idea of his friendship with Blaze being the only one not brought on by having Death Eating parents (as I recall his mother has remained neutral through both wars but even if it’s just my headcanon, I’m sticking with it), the only friend he made on his own, smth like that.

Have I mentioned that I headcanon that getting punched in the face by Hermione was the moment that he fell for her? Years later when I watched OUAT and they had “getting punched in the face” as the meet-cute for two generations of Charmings I squealed because it reminded me of Dramione and what could’ve been 😂

FanFic Authors

Krebony - I love their story You Are My Home. It is such a sweet Ominis story and I am praying for the day it gets updated cause I am invested in what happens. I love the way Ominis is written (strong and sweet and protective and cunning) and it's a super sweet story with angst.

Lana_Morrigan - I love her Arcana - Julian story The Mirror Cracked. I love how she incorporated fairy tales into her story and it was just such a fun and heartfelt read. I enjoy reading very different prose from my own -> helps me grow more and branch out from the normal.

heartsof_theround - omg I love her story Our Floral Courtship. It was so cute and kept me on the edge of my seat. I love how she used the language of flowers (makes me want to do something in regards to that it was just so freaking CUTE).

@applinsandoranges - I love pretty much all of her one-shots because they're so well written and I love how sweet and cute most of them are (im sure everyone is sensing a trend with this and i am a sucker for cute and sweet content).

@eggymf - I love that she's putting in so much time and effort into crafting a long, multi-chapter story. I love hearing her ideas and how she executes them into her stories. I love how she writes Ominis - and I'm excited to see where OPPAW goes!

NON FANFIC Writers

Kazutoyo Maehiro, Natsuko Ishikawa, Banri Oda - the genius writers behind Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward (the critically acclaimed award winning expansion lolll). I am still reeling over the emotional devastation they caused me, and it's been a year since I played it. The characters they crafted will stick with me for a long, long time. It's truly amazing how someone can make a character - then make you care so much about them. It's an art I would love to hone and master - and I admire them greatly for being able to do this so freaking well. Like I don't cry much when I'm reading, but damn did I cry like a baby. A literal SOBBING BABY. Just... amazing.

Kentaro Miura - the legend who wrote Berserk. I'm not really into gritty, dark stories, but wow. Just wow. He made me appreciate the trials and hardships of what a character/person may go through - and how they may emerge and change from it. It's really beautiful how you can write the human spirit that survives even when everything seems against them. It's really made me think about how I write future characters -> what makes them human

J.K. Rowling - probs a controversial take, but I admire how she created a world, a literal world, that is such an huge part of society. When you think of wizards -> you think of Harry Potter. I believe that's an amazing accomplishment to have so many people love your stories and to be so invested in this magical world. She inspired a lot of people's imaginations and I think that's the end goal of every writer -> to inspire imagination. And I hope to keep doing that (even with my dumb lil writings about Ominis or whatever)

Brandon Sanderson - Currently reading Mistborn, but he's the first author that I'm reading with a different sort of lens. I'm viewing his work as a fellow author (i know, i know - hot take of me calling myself an author butttt). It's been interesting breaking down his work and how he structures things. I love how he's made the magic system and world easy to digest without it being boring. You're in this world - and it's so organic. You learn more and more without it being overwhelming. You start to really understand the magic system, and it's so freaking cool. I love his prose - as I'm not the biggest fan of flowery prose - and his is a bit more straight to the point.

I put this list together before starting this blog as a sort of exorcism. There's more than a few seriously shit people in here, but their work is a part of my formative years. This is a way of honouring that work, and laying it to rest, in a way.

Chapter 4: Back to Formula

The Osborns had enough money to afford many different kinds of wines. From the sweetest of tastes, to the strongest of kicks. This was why Harry didn't believe a word his father said about the Serum, Spider-Man, and definitely not the identity of the Green Goblin. As much as he wanted to cling to this idea, he knew better. Norman would have himself a drink or two when there was a reason to celebrate. And as far as Harry was concerned his father didn't smell of wine, nor was there anything to celebrate. "You experimented on yourself?" Harry quizzed when the information settled in and there was no way to deny it. His father gave him a nod, and he knew his father wouldn't lie. Right? He kept the whole Goblin thing a secret. But Harry never asked him about it, so it wasn't technically lying.

"Peter sacrificed himself to save me." Norman continued, lifting his shirt a bit to show Harry the bandages that covered the Glider wound. "If it weren't for me, he'd still be alive." He mumbled, putting his shirt back down.

"Don't say that!" Harry burst. Norman looked at the boy, an eyebrow raised a bit. "I'm sure Spider-Man, or Peter, knew what he was doing." Okay, maybe Harry was a little upset Peter never told him his secret. Harry had been his best friend for a long time. He even convinced his dad from time to time to show Parker the higher, richer life. The least Peter could've done was give Harry a little taste of the even higher, hero life. "Besides, you're cured now. Why do you want to bring the Goblin back?" Harry crossed his arms, trying to hide how upset he was about his ex-best friend.

"I don't want to bring the Goblin back. I want to bring New York a hero it needs." Norman explained. "Spider-Man is gone now, and there's no one to defend the people."

"You want to make yourself a hero?"

"If this goes well, hopefully, you could join me." There was a little spark of excitement in Harry's chest. This experiment had to work.

"I'll help you. Please, let me help." Norman thought for a moment and sighed, clearly there was no way he was getting out of this.

"You can help."

It had been weeks and still they had no positive results. Every test rat would go berserk; one even attacked Harry. The two were starting to lose hope. Harry walked into the lab holding two coffees. At least during all their scientific struggles Harry made sure that they took care of themselves at least a little bit. "Coffee break." The boy said, setting a cup in front of Norman, who injected a crazed rat with something that quickly killed it. Norman sighed and stood up.

"Another failed test." He said, washing his hands. "And another mad rat." Harry listened, slowly drinking his coffee. "At this rate we might as well give up." Norman continued, but Harry spaced out, looking at the formula for the cure. He set his drink down as his father continued to rant, and took a small sample of the cure. Norman had another test tube filled with the Serum, ready for tampering. Harry grabbed it and added the sample of the cure to it. The liquid glowed a violent green, then quickly died down to a dark green. Norman had quieted down now, the glow catching his attention. Harry put the liquid into a syringe and carefully injected it into a rat. The rat scratched the spot the Serum was injected into, then lifted its head and sniffed. It didn't act crazy, it didn't attack the two.

"Did it work?" Harry asked.

"Only one way to find out." Norman said, watching the rat.

I have to revisit this comparison post, after reading this thread by @azuresins and others.

I might have been onto something with the "martyr complex". More than I intended, actually.... I recommend checking out that thread for the information about blackthorn and Snake's snake in that artwork for ch204.

But instead of talking about Jesus and sacrifice, or Celtic myths of sacrifice, I'd like to talk about numerology. The Harry Potter series sure uses it... a lot. Jesus and self sacrifice, too, for sure. But let's discuss numerology now.

Here we have 11 discussed as a Master Number.

For Finny, this 11 could pertain to his intuition and insight without much thought. It makes sense when you consider how perceptive he really is (knows he brought Sebastian iris bulbs, not blooming plants, for example) but decides not to think too hard about it. If this is the case, he's always on the verge between greatness and destruction. That tracks. He's sensitive, energetic, sometimes shy, and often impractical. Definitely a dreamer.

This site goes more into Master Number 11 as a gateway between the physical and the spiritual.

Instead of Finny having to die and come back, perhaps he can help others cross between realms? If not to that extent, he might at least help others (like Snake) achieve some deeper understanding of themselves and their higher purpose. What if he could talk the staff ladies or even Doll into giving up?? 🤔

Finny does come across as highly sensitive and empathic. In this way, he's a lot like Violet... who is full of Master Number 11 vibes. Violet even seems to have premonitions in his drawings. But that is another topic, which I've discussed before.

I'd love for Finny to guide and support Snake towards making the right decisions for the greater good.

The intensity of Finny's emotions definitely causes him to struggle sometimes, and it might be part of why he turns out to be such a successful test subject for the drugs he was given before. Going berserker mode shows him teetering over the edge into the destructive side of this number.

One more about 11. He also possesses an uncanny ability to gaze at people and influence them (just look at Sebastian fall for it in ch5).

But that last link for 11 also talks about how that can be reduced to 2. And Finny's hair pins are usually arranged as II and III. In numerology, 2 is a feminine, even goddess, aspect (mentioned in the first website link I gave). In the last website, 2 is referred to as a follower. Well, once he joins the Phantomhive household and starts wearing those hair pins, he is very much a follower. This part of the last website has information on numbers 1 through 9. Thanks to his usual placement of the hair pins, he has 2, 3, and 5. The "S-012" on his neck would also be reduced to a 3 in numerology.

2: The moon, feminine aspects, intuition, kindness, adaptability, and a desire for peace, but also indecision. A follower.

3: Flourish in a beautiful environment (like gardens!), youthful, upbeat, has a zest for life, and loves to communicate and make new friends.

5: Full of zest, brightens others' moods, adaptable, peaceful, and likes a challenge.

11. Highly intuitive, sensitive, insightful, and empathetic. An individual entity and a leader. But prone to destruction.

But keep in mind that his 2, 3, and 5 have all been replaced by that Roman Numeral 11 on the cover of ch204. Master Number 11 is not easy to master, but perhaps Finny will come into his own now. Hopefully the only destruction will be to F. O. L. Orphanage... and not to Snake or himself....

Ch204 vs ch120, Spoiler

The cover art for ch204 actually harkens back to what Finny and Snake wear to the Halloween party in ch120.

In both cases, Snake dresses as a witch/wizard, while Finny dresses as a vampire.

It's just that this time, Snake's outfit looks like he attends Hogwarts, while Finny looks like an Anne Rice character with a martyr complex. 😏 And neither one looks happy at all. 😢 They look exhausted and close to tears.

Well, Finny can remove that crown of thorns as soon as he tells Snake the truth about how his other circus friends died (at least the ones that came to Phantomhive Manor). He can get that burden off his chest and feel some relief.

And Snake can remove those glasses as soon as he realizes that Doll isn't there to help any of those orphans. Faced with reality, he should see that Doll and the others needed to be stopped, at just about any cost.
