Hot take: Any and all efforts asking companies to refuse to adopt automation/AI systems that would save costs for the sake of human jobs (fairly understandable urge on the face of it) should be funnelled into asking them to just. Give you money. Or more properly, to support UBI funds. This is because you are essentially asking for the exact same monetary sacrifice/outcome (suffer reduced profits in order to benefit the worker population) without the added side-effect of engaging in weird anti-tech politics that hurts people who work in engineering fields and the cause of developing generally more productive production chains that could be enhanced by automation.
"But, that's pointless, there's no way we can convince companies to just give away free money!" You're right, that's capitalism baby, and they will refuse to listen to your complaints about automation/AI for the same reason. It's because companies operate under a profit motive by definition, and so you should actually be lobbying for government regulation, i.e. an automation/surplus tax towards a UBI. This avoids the shortfall of the "AI is the devil" approach while also having the advantage of actually being feasibly useful at getting positive outcomes for the working class (lobbying corporations to not adopt cost-cutting measures will not do this, at least not in the long term).

Seeing a video of a hostage's grandmother shout the Shema into a loudspeaker on the Gaza border with the hope that her grandson might hear it...
What goyim don't understand is that Hamas didn't launch a war against Israel, or just Israel. It launched a war against Jews. It doesn't matter if we're shouting our prayers as loud as we can so our tortured loved ones can hear it or whispering them in a shul that got a bomb threat last week. The only difference is that Hamas militants are holding that grandson, and in the diaspora, they don't have to do the dirty work. Plenty of people are happy to intimidate and endanger Jews on their behalf.
And Hamas knew that and depended on it. I just hope one day people look back and see how a fascist, genocidal terrorist organization took advantage of them.

I have to say I find the "what if predathos is just a mindless hungry being/just a baby" argument utterly irrelevant to any discussion. Like RIP to you, literally, but if a mindless entity or an animal capable of killing me were to try to kill me, while I would hopefully make an attempt to de-escalate or capture it or safely escape without doing any harm, I would also in fact not feel bad if I had to kill it to save my life. It's interesting on an academic level to consider whether Predathos could have been reasoned with or stopped in other ways, but I do not judge someone who has watched their family disappear into its jaws for saying "I'm not waiting to find out"

As a last resort to defeat the BBEG whose power has now gotten out of hand, the party uses a one-time forbidden spell to travel back in time to kill the villain as a baby.
Of course, this leads to the resulting attempts to the party to justify to the court back in the past why they cleaved a toddler in half with a flaming greatsword.
You can actually justify a lot of things with "I just saved the future!"

I would understand it, if people were breaking down our talking points and doing comparisons, but people just calling trans men MRAs for speaking about the violence they face? MRAs are literally a white supremacist misogynistic hate group that hate trans men too. Calling us that is wretched.

"but Biden should've done THIS while in office" yeah and. And? He's not Kamala. Are you really gonna convince people to not vote for Harris because of her white male boss's decisions? because the alternative is a lot fucking worse

i truly do not think alice can possibly stop being a character bc of previously stated reasons so now my working theory is the "i'll die down here" is mostly a distraction from "i was born down here" and alice Is some kind of reborn or construct or undead or something in the way that what she Is, her Current form of life was born from whatever weird alchemist shit is going on in the OIAR and the Magnus institute

i think maybe somewhere there is something in between "you're not allowed to voice negative opinions on any part of D20's story bc it's all improv!!" which feels like a blanket excuse to bulldoze over any and all opinions you dislike, and "disparaging the cast and crew bc these fictional characters didn't get treated like actual irl human beings"

i do not know how to explain to people that "transmisogyny" is the specific transphobia that trans women + transfems face (often but not exclusively at the hands of cis people), and "transandrophobia" is the specific transphobia that trans men + mascs face (often but not exclusively at the hands of cis people), and that they all come together under the umbrella of "transphobia." these are not opposing concepts nor are they mutually exclusive, to believe in one does not mean non-belief in the other. is there a simpler way of phrasing this. can i be clearer.
