You know I used to think "tumblr's absolute refusal to actually engage with the Trolley Problem in favor of insisting that there must be a third, morally pure option that doesn't require them to make a hard decision and anyone who asks them to make a binary choice is just a short-sighted idiot is really fucking annoying, but I guess it's not actually doing any harm".
Anyway that was before we asked tumblr at large to decide between "guy aiding a genocide but making progress elsewhere" and "guy who would actively and enthusiastically participate in a genocide and would also make everything else much, much worse for everyone elsewhere" and the response was that there must be a third, morally pure option that doesn't require them to make a hard decision and that anyone who asks them to make a binary choice is a short-sighted idiot.

Voting is not something that you can boycott. Someone wins the election no matter what.
“B-but Biden-”
It doesn’t matter. I don’t like him either, but it doesn’t matter.
To everyone in the US: you, as an American and as (I hope) generally decent human beings, you have an obligation to elect the candidate who will do the least damage. And the United States, like it or not, possesses the largest proverbial stick, meaning it effects the rest of the world heavily.
You want to stop genocide? Start by voting so that genocides don’t happen here. I want you to look up Project 2025, the Republican plan for if they win, and tell me, honestly, that you think having that happen would be better than electing Biden again?
Grit your teeth, clench your fist, and vote blue.

"There is a difference between being a narcissist and being someone with npd!!" Y'all we need to start gatekeeping the word narcissist or something because SOME people have NO IDEA about how it fucking works and simply DO NOT GIVE A FUCK about what ACTUAL NARCISSISTS think about it

I know you want a revolution but to have that, you have to act, you have to get your hands dirty, and you have to vote so people who openly want a mass deportation and fervently want to murder anyone who isn't white don't take control of this country.

Anyone haveing a Bleeding heart for Trump voters is a true idiot, very white, or a nonblack PoC who finally clued the fuck in that the GOP is for white people only.
It’s 2025. A Trump vote back then was dumb as fuck and for those who voted for him more than once meant that shit. They meant to vote to harm others and wanted entertainment on top of it.
No Trump voter deserves anything but the karma they voted for.
Their suffering should be treated like entertainment since that’s what they wanted for Trump to do to Black and nbpoc, along with being extremely homophobic and hoped for the LGBT community to be harmed as well.
Forgiving these people who are only sorry about their Trump vote because it finally affected them is ridiculous

@projectmoonlightproductions dude that line you wrote, “forcing yourself to live to prove that you deserve your sentience” in relation to gingerbrave? has stuck with me for DAYS. In the best way, but still.
Gingerbrave does love living in the real world, and having friends and jellies and sunlight and snow and being surrounded by a living, breathing warren, but I feel like she wouldn’t truly be able to ENJOY or otherwise be comfortable in it for a long time because living, like almost everything else important to her so far, is a duty. It’s a duty because not only does he know that he was made to be eaten, but that she was one of a group.
For me, part of the horror of Gingerbrave’s situation is that he wasn’t (at least superficially) special. Her ENTIRE KIND was made to be prey. Her entire species is subjugated and rendered carnage for no reason other than the vices and cruelties imposed on them by a godly figure.
I feel like Gingerbrave would know on a certain level, in a certain part of his brain, that those cookies in that oven and on those plates were meant to be living, breathing kids. Kids like him. Kids that should be playing animal jam and going to school and eating slightly freezer-burnt chicken tenders and singing and laughing and running and living. What makes Gingerbrave different from all the cookies left behind on that oven tray?
I’m imagining gingerbrave, once they’re leading a “normal” life, throwing herself into everything. Trying to be the best and happiest and experience everything, with the underlying message in her brain playing “you need to live for them. They never got and never will get this; if you waste this chance in any way, you’re letting down every single one of those killed children.”
before he can get to the “living as a rebellion” mindset which is like. Infinitely more healthy in the long term, gingerbrave needs to get over the “living as a duty” thing I gave her. Btw he’s like, 12-is at this point in my personal timeline lolz. Womp womp. But uhhhh yeah!

Seeing a lot of "If you're LGBTQ+, avoid showing it in public/don't wear any styles that give you away" and like I'm sorry but I will NOT give the republicans what they want.
They want me to go back into the closet. They want me to be quiet and afraid. They want me out of public spaces.
I'm not giving them that. I'm not going to live my life in fear. I'd rather be killed and become a martyr to my community than live knowing the fascists got what they wanted.
I refuse. My fear of death is far outweighed by my desire for freedom.
I will never be quiet again.

“Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) questioned the logic of Donald Trump’s tariffs on allies, stating that the measures will raise prices for American consumers.
“It will drive the cost of everything up. In other words, it will be paid for by American consumers. I mean, why would you want to get in a fight with your allies over this?” McConnell told CBS News’ Lesley Stahl in a “60 Minutes” interview that aired on Sunday.”

"Voting is harm reduction" Indigenous anarchists are literally on their hands and knees begging you to stop fucking saying this but here you go. Yes a candidate is going to be chosen regardless but voting is in no way harm reduction. Like that's it. Just stop calling it that. We aren't telling you to stop voting we're telling you to stop calling it harm reduction. That's simply not what it is.

“Things will be worse for the palestinians now!” argument liberals are parroting like a mantra up until this point either mean that they genuinely haven't been paying attention, and so they don't know about the countless massacres and graphic images that have been coming out of Gaza daily for the past year. Or they do know. But they truly believe that palestinians should be able to take such events as long as they don't exceed that imaginary line in the sand that they've carved from the comfort of their homes, that Trump is definitely going to cross. And I really can't decide which is worse.

american friends who live in solidly blue or solidly red states — please, please go vote today, even if it feels a little pointless.
i grew up in a swing state — in a very purple county of a large swing state, even — and so i got to come of age with this deep sense that my vote would someday Really Matter. i know that’s far from true for everyone. these days, it’s certainly no longer true for me — i’ve moved for work and now live in a very blue state. in some substantive and infuriating ways, my voice means less, now.
at the same time, this morning i got to vote on several ballot questions that will help shape my state’s education policy, support unions, and make it easier for the state to regulate and understand controlled substances without criminalizing their users. i got to vote for state and local officials. i got a cool sticker. today, in red and blue states across the country, folks are voting for the state and municipal actors who shape the character of local politics and the reality of most people’s day-to-day lives.
moreover, while my vote for Harris won’t really “count” all that much in the electoral college points allocation, it’s still a vote. it’s still momentum. it’s still a step closer to a decisive popular vote victory, which — at least in the eyes of the world, history, and my peers — still counts for something.
so, if you live in a swing state — please vote! our fate lies in your hands. the rest of us need you to turn out and carry us.
but if you don’t — please vote, too, and keep voting all the way down your ballot. you still get to shape your political reality, despite this super silly electoral system that we’re stuck with.
and besides — regardless of where you are, you get a sticker.**
(**unless you vote by mail, in which case — have a virtual sticker & my undying gratitude for your civic involvement: ⭐️)
