Some post-fall Hannigram headcanons of mine, just for fun:

. Hannibal used to celebrate holidays, he enjoyed the festivities, having holiday parties as a surgeon. Eventually, the loneliness of who he was and how he lived soured them. Will makes him want to have simple fun celebrating again.

. While running from cops somewhere, Will grabs a motorcycle, and Hannibal finds out he can drive cars or motorcycles like a maniac— growing up in the middle of nowhere with a dad who’s a mechanic can do that.

. Due to the changes in air pressure from cold, wet weather putting stress on deep scarring, whenever it rains hard where they are, Will’s stomach scar aches in a mimicry of the rainy night of its making.

. Post-fall, Hannibal avoids eye contact, Will tries to initiate it. Hannibal worries that with Will’s new self-possessedness, he will glean even the things he hides from himself and leave. Will reassures him, of course.

. Will asks Hannibal to give him sparring lessons. Now that he’s more willing to delve into his empathy more, he can predict Hannibal’s moves sometimes because he knows him so well. Hannibal finds it annoying, Will finds it hilarious.

. Hannibal owns several properties around the world, and they hop from place to place over the years to avoid being tracked. He has villas in Cuba and Italy and a small private island his family owned.

. Sometimes they feel nostalgic for the time spent on Hannibal’s boat after the fall and want to exist in a world all their own, so they take the boat out and live off the water for a while. Will enjoys the ocean fishing a lot.

. They're both missing their appendixes, unnecessary vestigial organs that are fine to remove. They had the other operate on them and cut it out to share for dinner. Hannibal coached a very nervous Will on how to cut his out for months.

Bo Sinclair:

Bo is a quiet partner, if he's happy he's even quieter OR more snarky (no inbetween, hes crazy like that) he will forget things like valentines day, because thety arent something he cares about, but sometimes he will surprise you with small things; Your favorite candy, a candle in the scent you like, jewelry, clothes, ect. He wants you to know he loves you but by god will he make it hard. But if you suffer from fear of abandonment he will do small things to prove he wont leave (he thinks they are small) like getting your name tattooed on his bicep, or letting you leave hickeys on him. Vincent Sinclair:

Vincent is a loving and doting partner, He will leave you gifts like a cat, statuettes of you, photographs, drawings, paintings, a cool rock he found he thinks youd like? its on your bedside table in the morning. He loves you and shows it in every way he can think, candlelit dinners? Check. Gifts for EVERY occasion? Check. Physical affection? Check. Love Letters? Check. He wants you to feel like a god/dess, worshipped by a loyal devotee <3

Lester Sinclair: Golden retriever Boyfriend. Kind of? Hes like a wolf that is loyal to you and his brothers. thats it. but of course he claims that hes all yours. If you ask for it its yours. You like the flannel he was wearing? The next day its cleaned and folded up on your dresser (because he knows the smell of roadkill isnt nice for you) Kisses you all the time, anywhere youll let him, holding your hand all the time. He will bring you fucked up lil things he finds on his daily adventures. He will also let you ride shotgun while he takes the scenic route to talk with you and show you all the pretty landscapes! Hannibal lector: He will rest your head in his lap while he works, gently stroking your hair and humming as he holds you. Hes a quiet affectionate Boyfriend. He will make your favorite tea any time you seem stressed and take 5 minutes to drink a cup of tea with you and talk about nothing in particular, and if you need something so soon as you say the word its done. He will cook and clean and be a house husband and working man for you :3 Billy Loomis: Guard dog boyfriend, do not expect to be able to get out of his sight, this man loves you and would kill any guy/girl who tries to make a move on you. during quiet moments with him he will watch horror movies with you, holding you close as you watch. he loves especially if you get scared so he can pull you into his chest and promise to keep you safe.

Stu Macher: Stu is a golden retriever boyfriend. he wants to make you happy, he will get you anything you request, as soon as you ask for it, if you are AFAB he has an app on his phone that tracks your period and will bring you your favorite snacks and mensural products along with pain killers and gifts the day your period is supposed to start. if you stay over at his place its horror and cuddles, holding you to his chest as he strokes your hair while you are watching the show. he adores you and adores your smile, he will watch sappy romance or comedies with you to make you happy :D

Michael Myers: Michael is a guardian, silent and watching you from afar, or close by. he doesn't talk much- or honestly at all, nor does he care to use ASL, he does however use tiny movements to show his care, little flexes of his hands, tilts of his head, and the occasional hand on your shoulder when he wants you to know he loves you, he's like a cat, leaving gifts at your door, or on your bedside table. its always random things, a knife he though you would like, jewelry, weird things that don't make sense Jason Voorhees: Jason is a big ass teddy bear, he will kiss you all over through his mask, cuddle you, bring you gifts, do things for you, carry you on his back when on walks through the woods, he doesn't want you to be in pain!! He will give you rocks, feathers, flowers, anything nature related, he will sometimes give you jewelry from the victims he thinks will look pretty on you (doesn't matter if your masc. or femme, he will still do it) He wants to keep you safe, so don't expect to be somewhere without him unless its at your house/cabin!

• Will knows what it’s like to just be in his own thoughts or feel disconnected from himself.

• There are times after each case where he dissociates and he can’t help it.

• He always tries to get his boyfriend what he needs and/or wants.

• Will just wants him to know that he’s there to help him through it and will always be by his side.

• Nothing will stop him from being right beside his boyfriend and even if his boyfriend says he doesn’t want/or need anything, he’s going to bring him his favourite snacks and tell him how much he loves and cares for him.

Hannibal Lecter

• “It’s quite alright, Mylimasis, I’m right here.”

• Hannibal has seen many patients dissociate and knows how to deal with it.

• He’ll ask him to focus on something in the room, ask him about the item, and ask him questions about it to ground him.

• Hannibal is very patient with his boyfriend, knowing that it can be tough when he dissociates.

• He’ll love him no matter what goes on and will always help ground him when needed.

• No matter how long it takes to get his boyfriend back from his dissociation, he’s right by his side, ready to help.

Author’s Notes:

Title says it all. Just some headcanons based off of the show, bits of Red Dragon and my own personal intuition because I'm THAT good. /s

He doesn’t know why his mom left because his dad refuses to tell him and would get furious anytime he brought it up as a child. 

He experienced corporal punishment from his dad but if asked, wouldn’t consider it to be abuse—no matter how emotionally traumatic it was for him. 

His dad George was a survey technician in the US Army Corps of Engineers. His mother Adaline had worked as a pharmacist before Will was born. 

He was never allowed pets growing up, hence why he now owns so many dogs.

With his undiagnosed ASD and constant moving around for his dad’s job, Will struggled to form any long-lasting, meaningful relationships in his youth.

His dad would occasionally write letters to Will and send him various gifts (Bourbon, aftershave, new lures) around the time of his birthday or the holidays. He stopped after Will was imprisoned and hasn’t written to him since. 

Will tried to approach girls he had crushes on when he was a teen but they were always dismissive of him or thought he was weird.

He lost his virginity in a clumsy drunken one-night stand in his sophomore year of college. She was his roommate’s ex and there was some drama over it.  

Will has experienced lots of frustration with the women in his romantic life who in his mind toyed with his feelings and strung him along. He was always so willing to commit himself to the right girl and even imagined himself as the kind to settle down and get married young but the opportunity never arose.  

Throughout his teenage years, he imagined often how he would kill his dad and was convinced he could get away with it.

Will dated a Law student in his junior and senior year of college and they had been going steady until after they’d slept with each other one night and Will had a hyperrealistic dream in which he strangled her in her sleep, dismembered her, and scattered her all around campus. This dream disturbed Will so deeply that he broke things off with the girl right after, providing little explanation as to why.

Will’s want to become a father and to protect and nurture his “strays” (Abigail Hobbs, Georgia Madchen, Peter Bernadone, his actual fucking dogs) is very much ego-driven. It’s not as genuine or wholesome as he might want you to think or how he even perceives it to be.

Will was pretty widely disliked at the police department he was a detective for as well as the FBI Academy.

His alcoholism developed as a way to numb his overstimulated senses and to cancel out the intrusive thoughts he has. As time has gone on, his reliance on liquor has only grown; a habit he picked up from his father.

Will is a notoriously harsh grader and is quick to shut down any dissenting opinions about his “style of teaching”.

He’s definitely had inappropriate thoughts/fantasies about a few of his students, ranging from shallow sexual attraction to full-blown abduction. 

He doesn’t own a television or a computer and begrudgingly owns a smartphone for his job. 

The majority of his interests and likes/dislikes are ones he got from his dad. His dad loved to fish. His dad’s favorite singer was Johnny Cash. His dad liked the color green. Will probably feels as if these are what he should like and if you actually asked him how he felt about ____ or if he really liked XYZ; he wouldn’t know how to answer. 

A huge part of the reason he loves dogs is that they do not know they are ‘kept’. As opposed to a human being who could recognize if they were taken from everything they know or forced to live the life of another; dogs don’t think that way and above all, they are undyingly loyal. 

^^ And yes, this is my way of saying I subscribe to the popular headcanon that Will has stolen some of his dogs.

HEADCANON - DUNCAN VIZLA (POLAR)

His mother abandoned him at the door of a barracks, and the soldiers raised him together.

Duncan was raised by the military from a young age. His childhood was completely different from any other child's; he never had toys, birthday parties, or any affection. He grew up, from the beginning, as a soldier and nothing else.

He has Post-Traumatic Stress and Autism.

He has no hobbies, but he likes to draw in the dirt/snow when he is alone.

He has almost no reaction to physical contact because his nerves are all destroyed due to his work and childhood. He could be beaten for hours and would only feel a slight discomfort because his body no longer feels as much pain as before. (The only place where he still feels contact is his face, but he wouldn't let anyone touch his face because he doesn't trust anyone.)

He doesn't like cats because he thinks they are ungrateful (he compares himself a lot to cats). He likes dogs, he likes how they welcome him and aren't afraid of him, but he knows he wouldn't be a good owner.

He has felt lonely forever, which is why he had an imaginary friend in his childhood. The imaginary friend was small and kind, totally opposite to Duncan, and was named Adam. Duncan imagined him from a book he stole from the library (The Little Prince).

He feels more comfortable talking to children than adults because children are good and without malice.

He finds insects very interesting and once had a pet tarantula, which was the only animal that lasted long enough under his care, but it was accidentally crushed when Duncan took the tarantula with him to training.

He loves chocolate; he ate it for the first time at 16 and never stopped trying to get some bars of his favorite sweet.

Duncan only takes cold showers.

At 17, he left the barracks and was aimless until he saw a group of men attacking a woman on the street. He killed the whole group without problems, and that's how he met Vivian. She and Duncan quickly became friendly, and she took him to the assassin company where he would work for the next few years of his life.

Vivian was his first in everything. His first kiss, sex, date, girlfriend, etc.

Duncan and Vivian were going to get married, but she abandoned him at the altar, and that's when he lost trust in her forever.

At work, Duncan met several people, one of whom was a 20-year-old named John Wick. The two weren't extroverted enough to call each other "best friends," but they had a very good relationship, so much so that John was Duncan's best man at his wedding to Vivian, and Duncan was John's best man.

Duncan helped John's wife choose a gift to leave for his friend because he knew a dog would be the ideal companion to soothe John's grief.

He didn't attend John Wick's wife's funeral but was by his friend's side when he left the funeral and started crying on the street.

Due to his strict upbringing, Duncan has great respect for the elderly and the military.

He never had good dreams, only nightmares or dreamless sleep.

When no one is around, Duncan likes to spin until he gets dizzy and falls down laughing.

Children are instantly attracted to him, and he is often known as "Papa Bear" among the children.

His body is very warm; no matter how cold it is outside, Duncan Vizla is always warm.

It would have been really interesting if the show had delved deeper into Will and how he “collects” strays. I think it makes a lot of sense for Will to have hoarding disorder. It would have been interesting to explore its intersections with trauma, financial/house/job instability and health decline, as well as social stigma. If the show was *actually* good at representing mental health and its stigma, it would have been nice representation i think.
