When I saw Dark, I definitely expected characters like Hannah and Ulrich to be hated. I wasn't surprised when I saw comments disliking them on different websites, but I just didn't expect to see people celebrating that Hannah was murdered by her own child while her younger child was sleeping in the same room.
People can enjoy any moment they want while watching a show or movie, but I just don't get it. Hannah gets an amount of hate that no other character in the show gets, and it feels like a large part of the show's viewers ignore to even trying to understand her.
jonas literally says in the first episode:
“My father said good and evil are a question of perspective.”
I'm not saying her character didn't do bad things, but it's exhausting how that's the only thing people see about her and it's just like they're trying to erase the good she did or all the positive things she meant in certain characters' lives.
I was even more shocked to see how few comments put Hannah on the same level as Helene Albers. I just don't understand how anyone could think that Hannah is somehow comparable to an abusive parent.
Hannah with her kids:
When she saw her boy struggling to cope with his dad's dead, she supported her child and made sure he got the professional help he needed.
And when Jonas came back to town, she made sure he got his medications and therapy sessions with Peter.
Hannah was so worried when Jonas tells her he had a fight at the end of the first season.
In the same scene, he just wanted to comfort his mother by saying, "Don't worry, Mom. Everything will be fine, Mom." when he actually believed that he could save Mikkel and thus end his own existence.
As the months passed since her son's disappearance, Hannah was so devastated that she almost took her own life.
She didn't, because Stranger Jonas appeared.
Stranger Jonas has returned after years of living in the apocalypse, and he doesn't know what else to do when his plan fails. The only thing he can think of is to go to his mom and tell her the truth.
After the time young Jonas spent traveling with Claudia, the first thing he does when he finally returns home is look for his mom.
It was a long time before Hannah saw her son again.
But she went to see him immediately when a random old woman told her that she knew where her son was and that he needed her.
Hannah was heartbroken when she saw what had happened to her boy. In that moment she apologized, recognized her mistakes, and told him that she was there for him.
Young Adam looked scary, but Hannah loved him anyway, and baby Silja trusted him when he said, "I want to show you a secret. But we'll let your mom rest, okay?"
Hannah died when Silja was very young and she probably didn't remember much about her mom, but she still named her firstborn Hanno after her.
and that's just to mention some of the things I could remember about Hannah's relationship with her kids.
The last dialogue of the whole show:
"I always thought "Jonas" was a good name."
Hannah was a good mom and her kids absolutely loved her. It bothers me that some people want to take that away from her because they don’t like her.
It's really hard for me to understand how some viewers can watch a show like Dark and decide that they can see all the million gray areas that all these characters had, but with one particular character they reduce everything to black and white.

i like jonas & martha, especially the whole madness of alt-martha & jonas.
regina & aleksander are the couple of the show for me.
elisabeth & noah are so tragic and beautiful.
at first, i didn't think that magnus & franziska would be such a stable couple. they are cute together, especially in eva's world.
i wish we had more of a closure for agnes & doris.
except for ulrich, all of hannah's romances are pretty good for me. hannah & michael were really sweet together. i also liked hannah & egon together. if egon hadn't ruined their relationship, i think it could have worked out. i like to think that hannah & egon had a better chance in eva's world. also, hannah & wöller seemed like a really good couple.
i think ulrich & katharina had a really good connection when they weren't dealing with their marriage problems. the same goes for charlotte & peter. they put aside all their problems aside and tried to be there for each other when they needed it.
i'd like to give bartosz & silja a vote. if their story wasn't just that they meet, have a baby, have a second baby and she dies. oh, and a year after her death he sees her again as a little girl. still, i really liked their four scenes together.
noah & adam is also a really good option.
I know there are more, but I ran out of room. If I missed your favorite couple, please put them in the notes!

So I just finished watching Dark with my mum and while we watched the scene of the six remaining characters around the table, we were speculating of who else could have survived and how new families would form between them. And my mum dead ass said "well Regina and Katarina would have been a good one" and now i just can't stop thinking about it.
Also can we talk about how one of the very few surviving characters of the series is a trans woman who's in a loving relationship with a potentially bi man. Americans could NEVER.

Apparently his name is Sebastian Krüger. So Hannah's maiden name is Hannah Krüger, meaning in the origin world that's her name (unless she gets married to Wöller).
I also need content about Hannah's dad.

Seeing them out of character and having fun on set makes me feel super happy but also slightly disoriented ‘cause these aren’t the serious characters I’m used to seeing all the time on the show.

Do you miss him? I think I miss a notion of him. - Jonas and Hannah (1x02)
In all the worlds, Peter finds his way to Benni because he was always meant to be with her. I think something like that also applies to Hannah, but even more chaotic. Her love interests were a Nielsen and/or a policeman, so it might seem like Hannah was somehow looking for Ulrich. Since i watched the last episode, I don't think so.
All the similarities and differences in Hannah's romances are interesting to me. I think the ending was really fitting for her character, and now I have a different interpretation of her relationships.
Don't you think it'd be good if you got out? Won't you at least try? For me. - Hannah to Michael (2x06)
Michael Kahnwald: He was a really kind person. Hannah thought he was cool when they met. He was really nice to Hannah, and she was nice to him when others weren't. Even in his worst moments, Hannah was there for Michael. She didn't know who he really was, but she knew how he was before. Hannah just wanted to see her husband get better. Hannah loved Michael.
He loved Hannah.
She started a family with him in Adam's World.
Michael keeps secrets from her.
He is the father of her child (Jonas) and he loved their child so much. Michael would even give his life for Jonas.
They are not just romantic partners. He is also her descendant (great-great-great-grandson).
Mikkel is a Nielsen.
I tried to remember if you ever said "I love you" to me. - Hannah to Ulrich (2x07)
Ulrich Nielsen: He wasn't very nice most of the time, but he really tried his best. Ulrich and Hannah were friends since they were young. Hannah was obsessed with him. Ulrich had an affair with Hannah that didn't end well for them. Their relationship seems like it was never meant to be in any world. Ulrich always loved Katharina.
He didn't love Hannah.
She tried to start a family with him in Eva's World.
Ulrich keeps her as a secret and keeps secrets from her.
He loves his kids (Magnus, Martha and Mikkel).
Ulrich is a policeman.
They are not just romantic partners. He is also her descendant (great-great-grandson).
Ulrich is a Nielsen.
I love you. - Egon to Hannah (3x04)
Egon Tiedemann: He was a good man, and he was really nice to Hannah when they met. They had an affair. He told her he loved her, but Egon was holding on to a broken marriage. More than Doris leaving him, I think Egon was more affected by ruining the opportunity to be with someone who really wanted to be with him. But things probably worked out better for Hannah and Egon in Eva's World, Egon being a traveler was probably more able to think outside of the box.
He loved Hannah
She started a whole cursed family tree with him in Adam's and Eva's Worlds.
Egon keeps her as a secret.
He is the father of her child (Silja) and he loves his child (Claudia). He didn't know Silja in Adam's World, but I think he did in Eva's World.
Egon is a policeman.
They are just romantic partners.
Egon is not a Nielsen, but Egon and Hannah are technically the origin of the Nielsen family. Actually, she used the name Katharina Nielsen when they met in Adam's world and she is Hannah Nielsen in Eva's world, so Hannah is the Nielsen.
Egon's existence is not tied to the knot.
As a traveler, Egon's mission was to create his past to preserve the family tree. In order for his younger self to fall in love with her and have a child with her, he had to save Hannah from the apocalypse. I find it interesting that Hannah & Egon is the one Hannah relationship that's always necessary in Adam and Eva's World. I think Egon is the closest to Hannah's husband in Origin World.
Actually, no one here understood why she married him. She's very pretty. She could've had any man she wanted. - Wöller to Clausen (2X04)
Hannah is with Wöller in the Origin World.
Torben Wöller is funny and kind. He is a good man who loves Hannah. They are just romantic partners. He also happens to be a policeman in all the versions we have seen of him at his job. His profession didn't change from Adam's World to Eva's World, so I think he's still a member of the Winden police in Origin World. Wöller is not a Nielsen, so his existence is not tied to the knot. The series ends with Hannah starting a family with Wöller.
I just think that maybe all along Hannah was just trying to have what she was always supposed to have.
And I wish I could say that Wöller is different from Hannah's other love interests when it comes to secrets, but I can't. Not really a secret to her, but we don't know something very important. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS EYE???

Just finished "Dark" on Netflix. I'm not sure what to think about it honestly. I love the show, but the ending was kind of off. I don't really know how else to describe it.

My Dark theory: Hannah and Egon are going to be Torben and Benni’s parents.
My evidence? Not a damn thing, I’m just spitballing here.

What if Aleksander revealing his past to Bartosz in Eva’s World is what leads to his arrest in Adam’s World?
Clausen gets an anonymous letter quoting Freud and telling him that answers about his brother can be found in Winden. We can assume this was sent by The Unknown, since he recites the same quote to Gustav Tannhaus before he kills him.
How would The Unknown know that Aleksander was lying about his identity? As far as we see, the only people who know this are Hannah and maybe Wöller.
But in Eva’s World, Bartosz knows too.
We see that Alt Bartosz is loyal to Erit Lux. He grabs Alt Martha at the switch point and later saves his younger self from the apocalypse on Eva’s command.
What if he told Eva that his father stole Aleksander Köhler’s identity? Then they pieced together that Clausen was the real Aleksander’s brother, and had The Unknown send the letter to ensure that the apocalypse would happen in Adam’s World.

Dark S3E1
Extreme spoiler alert!
Just finished the episode.
Definitely need to share my thoughts about the final scene. (And the whole episode)
My God, he doesn't know who she is!! Does it mean that it never happened before? Or did he lose his memory? It breaks my heart how happy he was to see her, and how his hope was taken away from him again. Because it's not his Martha.
However, the fact that she wants help him to find the origin and to begin it all gives me the vibe that Martha 2.0 is also being manipulated by her older self, otherwise how whould she know what exactly to do and where/when to search for The Stranger?
Should we also talk about all the same or mirrored events and details worth mentioning?
Let's go:
The mirrored date of "the beginning"
The house exterior/interior (it really is mirrored)
Martha waking up like Jonas
Martha sniffing the milk to be sure it's safe to drink it (like Jonas did)
Morning routine of a Nielsen family shown in a long take
A family photo with a ripped out family member
Morning sex in a red house with someone interrupting it and one of the partners escaping through a window in a hoodie
Ulrich is coming back to his wife much later, explaining it by a line in a bakery. (And I am surprised by Hannah's looks... For a moment there I thought he wasn't cheating, I've got that tiny light of hope, but then this happened)↓
"Ich liebe dich"..."Schön bist du" (That explained me everything I needed to know about their relationship)
A protagonist in a yellow raincoat riding a bike and seeing a note about missing of Eric
"Don't forget to breathe" - well, that's old. "Don't forget to think" - oh, that's new. Glad Martha is standing up for herself here.
Martha is kissing someone and the other person who likes her, standing there uncomfortably
The headmaster
"It will happen again", and gosh, I expected it to be your ear
Doppler's marriage presumably having issues
Oh, Wöller, it's so lovely to see you in one piece! (*a second later* Are you effing kidding me?!)
A hair on your husband's hoodie that isn't yours
An explanation about how the black holes are formed by a diligent student
Someone is asking how the other person is doing after the death of his/hers partner in a conversation with a power plant director.
A meeting between Katharina and Hannah that actually leaves Katharina smiling
A kiss in the evidence room between Ulrich and his mistress
The play rehersal
Franziska and Magnus doing it in a small room mirroring their first time in Jonases world, but there is small plot twist too! (And I also love that they have strong feelings for each other)
The talkative Doppler girl! At last!
A visit to a graveyard
Alexander and Erik's dad are up to something again
Oh. The "déjà-vu" déjà-vu. I have seen it and I have heard it somewhere. You know... "Das Licht. Der Wald... Oder ein Fehler in der Matrix"
The meeting under the bridge
The cave incident
Protagonist falling and seeing & hearing someone covered in black paint
The appearance of Mads
The protagonist's possible love interest recognises the older version of the protagonist.
Jonas is terrified, confused and happy at the same time because he sees Martha, being sure that she is his Martha, only to be left heart broken and more confused.
I would call this episode "a way to mirror-recap two seasons in one over adding more details that will blow your mind"
An absolute effing masterpiece.
I am thrilled to bring able to watch it.
And a bit tired of typing 😂

I finished DARK so here‘s a few thoughts
I love Jonas so much it hurts
I love an ending. I knew Jonas had to disappear and while I was hoping they find a way to save themselves I’m not disappointed at all
as much as I hate Hannah, I hope now she is happy
Hannah dream about end of the world... I like the idea this is the paradise Adam had promised. No pain, no desire, just nothing
it was the most complicated season in my opinion. I didn’t rewatch previous seasons due to personal life but damn I was so lost sometimes
I was scared of idea of different worlds but of course it was perfectly balanced
episode 5 was brilliant and so emotional. and I love that it’s so quiet, especially Elisabeth and Peter scene and I was still ball of emotions
world without Jonas was so carefully crafted with different looks and colours I’m going to cry for days
there. was. no. villain. all characters are just humans who make mistakes! Jonas became Adam because he was still trying to fix everything!
I didn’t like Bartosz that much but damn this season was tough for him
while I understand that Aleksander/Boris was lying to Regina I think he was truly loved her and I would much prefer them to be together with no secrets in the end. But really all I want for Regina to be happy!
I love how the original world is another mix of Jonas and Martha words!  cellar’s door goes up and the bus stop is in the middle!
Egon being destroyed because of affair with Hannah, my poor heart didn’t take it well :c I'm also conflicted about how Doris handled things
it’s bitter-sweet that because of Hannah, Helene named her daughter Katharina
Jonas trying to kill himself broke my heart as expected
shots and music are so beautiful through whole series it’s a pleasure to watch it
they never explain Wöller mysterious accident and I love them for it
Claudia was the key to solve it!
by the end Tannhaus won and saved his family thanks to time travel, he just will never find out
my poor sweet Jonas I hope whenever you are now you’re happy and free of weight of the world you decided to carry. I love you and I miss you
I’m so happy that my celebrity crush brought me to this series and I was able to take part in this amazing, wonderful, beautiful and complicated ride. DARK will forever stay as my top 3 best series I’ve watched and I can’t wait to rewatch it

Note
for the ask meme: 001 for dark (even though i still haven’t watched it yet but i’m really excited to eventually) and/or 002 for beatrice/bertrand/lemony
001 for Dark:
Favorite character: Claudia - the cleverest player in the time travel game and the baddest bitch with an amazing character development
Least favorite character: Ulrich. Objectively speaking, he is hardly the worst person out there, but I just find him so annoying
5 favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Aleksander/Regina, Agnes/Doris, Hannah/Katharina, Jonas/Martha (I couldn’t care less about them for the first two seasons, but s3 changed my mind), annnd Bartosz/Silja
Character I find most attractive: AGNES
Character I would marry: do I absolutely have to marry into that horrible town? The 1950′s version of Egon seems like an okay option, I guess
Character I would be best friends with: Regina or Ines
A random thought: a fic I recently read opened my eyes to the fact that the snake biting its own tail - the symbol associated with the time travellers - could signify not only the ouroboros, in which the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning, but also (in its secondary meaning) the serpent, which seems quite appropriate for a story that has Adam, Eve, (the myth of) Paradise, and the (White) Devil, and wow... there are truly endless possibilities for analysis, what a mindblowing show (she said for the 100th time)
An unpopular opinion: I... don’t feel as strongly about Noah/Elisabeth as everyone else seems to. That must be because we didn’t see much of them as an actual couple, it was mostly a grown man around a little girl (creepy) or a young adult around a girl who is still significantly younger than he (less creepy, but still a bit weird). They obviously loved each other a lot and deserved better, but I guess I just didn’t have enough time to get attached to them as a ship
My Canon OTP: Aleksander/Regina
My Non-canon OTP: I don’t really have one at this point, but the idea of  Hannah/Katharina is slowly growing on me... who needs cheating men, lol
Most Badass Character: Claudia (see the first point)
Most Epic Villain: I don’t think there are any clear-cut villains on this show, but if we’re talking those morally gray characters who cause the most problems, then probably Eve (sorry, Adam!)
Pairing I am not a fan of: the first ship I thought of is very spoilery, so I’ll just say instead that Ulrich/Hannah was an unhealthy trashfire of a relationship that made everything worse for everybody
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Silja (underdeveloped, needed more personality, I still love her though), Agnes and Doris (their subplot got neglected towards the end)
Favourite Friendship: weirdly enough, I don’t know? Everyone in this story just keeps screwing everyone over. But I enjoyed what little we saw of alt!Martha and alt!Bartosz together, and, if sibling dynamics count, Martha & Magnus.
Character I most identify with: I’ve definitely made this joke somewhere already, but Wöller because comic relief eye injury + I, too, never have a clue about what’s going on
Character I wish I could be: uhhh, no one? Maybe Claudia if I really have to come up with an answer (not pre-time travel Claudia, though).
002 for B/B/L:
When I started shipping them: god, I don’t remember. Some time after joining the ASOUE fandom and reading some fics and realizing that this is a possibility and I like this possibility a lot
My thoughts: I know I’ve said this before, but it makes canon less tragic (no love triangle) and MORE tragic (Lemony loses both people he loved) at the same time, and I think that’s beautiful. Also, each dynamic between each two characters within this OT3 is so interesting in its own way! There’s Lemony/Beatrice that must have grown from a passionate relationship of two dramatic and loving people who were probably too similar in their personality and not similar enough in their aspirations to what is basically the poet and the muse (probably because writing about a muse is not as painful as mourning a real woman). There’s Bertrand/Beatrice, which I see as a more mature and healthy, if less romantic, relationship of two people who share the same goals and the weight of the same crime on their shoulders and decide to change their lives together. And then there’s Bertrand/Lemony - two gifted men who got compared to each other (well, at least L sure got compared to B) even before they first met, and who, logically, must have been rivals, except that there is a lot of fondness in how Lemony writes about the man who married his ex-bride... inch resting..... what I’m saying is that it’s a facinating dynamic made up of three separate fascinating dynamics and they live in my head rent free
What makes me happy about them: see above for fascinating dynamics + I like to imagine that whatever time they spent together was very happy for all three of them
What makes me sad about them: oh, I don’t know, the fact that two of them die, and one is left alone and depressed? :))
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I think I liked, at least more or less, all B/B/L fics I’ve read, so I have no answer
Things I look for in fanfic: at this point I just look for fanfic, period. Also smut bc I can’t believe the closest thing to smut w/ this ship was written by me, of all people
My wishlist: I don’t see how this point is different from the previous one? Anyway, gimme all the fanfiction and fanart and headcanons and everything
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:  Beatrice with R, Bertrand with Ernest (Vera sold me on this ship :D), Lemony with his Kind Editor
My happily ever after for them: B&B both survive the fire, start looking for their children, run into L, and then all three of them together manage to find Violet, Klaus, and Sunny
