Pei Xiu & Shi Qingxuan are in the middle of an investigation. Officially, SQX is in charge. Unofficially, Pei Xiu is on guard duty.

#(swd and pm will be hearing about this!)#fortune's fanfics #quan yizhen is here too - he sensed the same killing intent px did #but given that he a) doesn't want to be here and b) is annoyed at sqx for him having to be here #he is not clearing up the misunderstanding. he's not the one on guard duty after all #the basic premise of this idea is that SQX accidentally gets dragged into the (wholly nonexistent) conflict between Ming Guang and Qi Ying #and is tasked with investigating as a neutral (lol) third party #PM couldn't be less interested so dumps the investigation on Pei Xiu #QYZ also couldn't be less interested but doesn't have underlings to delegate to #SQX can't decide if PX is better or worse than the alternative (although he is her number one suspect behind this conflict)#meanwhile PM pulls PX aside and is just 'let SQX do what she wants but look after her and do your own investigation'#he knows 100% that qyz is not responsible for anything and he knows that he & px are innocent - but the MG palace is huge #his is not 100% sure that others under him aren't scheming in his name.
