I finished SWBTS a while ago and I love general ouyang so much! I’ve been waiting to read the book since 2020 but only got my book a few days ago, ahhhh it feels so surreal! well written eunuch antags are so rare in historical fiction and I never thought I’d live to see one beautifully written like a trans mlm, this really satisfies my incredibly specific niche (I’ve been fascinated by the concept for years), sorry I don’t know how to authentically describe how much ouyangs character means to me, he’s genuinely (almost) everything I’ve wanted to see in historical fiction, like oh my goodness... he raised the eunuch antag bar way too high now I’m gonna be disappointed when I read anything else

ok folks heres the scoop. y'all've got like, 4 days left to pick up Scarlet Hollow before we do a small price increase, so if you're a savings-minded video games player, now's the best time you'll have to pick up our lil narrative horror game for a while.

why should you pick up and play scarlet hollow, you ask?

• people like it (98% positive steam reviews!)

• it has difficult choices with no right answers! your choices also wildly shape other characters and your experience with the story

• it is very sad. (see above difficult choices)

• it has a sense of humor and lot of slice of life content, which makes the sad parts even sadder

• abby's drawn SO much art for it. like there are hundreds of backgrounds and thousands of character sprites

• there's all sorts of characters you can date in it. maybe even... monsters?

• there's SO much replay value. like some folks have HUNDREDS of hours in it on steam.

Hi everyone! I'm beyond happy to see all the love for the creatures I've been posting here lately.

That said, I've come to realize there's a lot of art that people here haven't seen! After all, there's some art that's only in the visual novel and hasn't been posted here, and I know most people are just here for the blog, which is fine, but it would be a shame if you never got to see most of the art I make because of that, wouldn't it? So, I will be sprinkling in art from the VN's first chapter in between the regular art posts (and from the second when chapter 3 has been published, and so on).

So I’m sort of composing a Basil au of some general kind- I’m hesitant to call it an au but it is, just not in the usual way

The general idea is just to tell omori from basils perspective, give looks inside his mind and what he’s thinking and delve more into his personal non-sunny related trauma that doesn’t get explored in the game, it’s an au in the sense that I deviate from canon to tell his story in a way that gets around all the missing information (namely stuff about his parents)

In my mind Basil doesn’t have a headspace or a whitespace but he does go somewhere in his dreams and when he spaces out, Basils mind and its locations are comprised of memory’s and vague ideas of places he may or may not have been, very little in Basils mind is entirely new or even warped fantasy versions of real life, it’s more like … decoupage

Also Basils mind is significantly more fucked up in the sense that he doesn’t compartmentalize his trauma like sunny does, it’s just there, right next to the good memories no matter how jarring the transitions are, he can’t hide like sunny can, in a way he doesn’t really want to, in a way Basil sort of wants to be miserable; he thinks he deserves it

I plan on making art for this au soon and maybe even fully writing it- I’ve talked about it a little bit once or twice and if I can I’ll go back and add those posts to the tag I’m about to make- which for the time being is omori!marzenie (marzenie meaning dream in polish, basil is polish by the way that’s my headcanon for him and it’s kind of important to this au idea I have)
