I just started cackling over a thought I had, and needed to share it. Omega is feeling very restless and wants something fun to do, so after some thought they start stretching really well, and then put on some running shoes. Wanders over to the rec room where the pack is all sitting around. We approach Soap who is most likely to react the best; slapping a hand on his shoulder and yelling: “you’re it! No tag backs!” And turning tail and sprinting back out of the rec room while giggling like crazy. Now you may be thinking, they are grown adults, but Soap and Gaz would absolutely play tag with us, and as much as Ghost and Price would think it might be childish…. The packs omega is running, and it will trigger their hunting instinct. Could consider it training. But also soap slowly turns back from us to everyone else, and then everyone just scatters.🤣

Except it wasn't playing tag, it was the reader having to write "'mega's snacks" on all her food because the guys would eat them otherwise. Kyle and John leave them alone because they're sane individuals. Johnny still tries and gets chased when he gets caught. Simon uses Johnny's distraction to sneak snacks for himself 😂

No but the reader so would do that. There's not far to run in the barracks but doing it as training? Just a bunch of kids out there playing tag and having fun chasing the reader. Until Johnny is it, then it's utter chaos. He's definitely the kid that took P.E. way too seriously. Super competitive and active and was always captain when playing sports.

anon you're not gonna believe what i've been doing the whole day today

four things sort of related to the drawing:

first, this was supposed to be inspired by marianne stokes's death and the maiden but somehow ended up looking more like psyche revived by cupid's kiss. (i also really want to do something with izzy's obsession with fire but haven't come up with any good composition ideas yet.)

second, i don't know if anyone seeing this can get it but i just realised that izzy has a lot in common with dokuga from dorohedoro (these two are probably my favourite type of characters): both are brave, smart, skillful and elegant fighters (both pretty tiny as well; dokuga is 177cm/5ft8 which seems fine but still makes him smaller than most people around him); both have knives with them as part of the defaults; both extremely repressed although for different reasons; both have put on a pretty “look” once although for completely different reasons also; both scarred on the upper body (dokuga canonically has no scar on his legs; not sure about izzy but from the toe scene it seems he doesn't have large scars on his legs either); both are their (towering) bosses' right-hand man and probably the most trusted person, and know (terrible) backstories that the crew/gang don't know; both have come back from near-death and lost a limb (dokuga was healed in the end but he still stayed in that state for half a year); both extremely loyal and devoted to their bosses even in the worst circumstances despite their love not returned (even the way kraken!ed makes the crew stressed and scared and confused and burnt out is in some way similar to kai with his gang near the end).

third, is it just me or does ed's earrings in this scene look like they're made with … toe bones? the little parts that line up? i wouldn't be surprised if he made izzy's toes into earrings. someone on the ship probably even had to make them for him, and that's how they knew ed took more of his toes.

and the last thing, i have been thinking about izzy's pain/torture kink and i've come to wonder if it's because pain makes him feel somewhat safe. it's familiar, it doesn't have to be bargained for, and it reminds him of what he is. it allows him to be the centre of another person's attention without having to deal with feelings. it probably also lets him ease into some sort of quiet headspace without voluntarily being “vulnerable”. a sort of “rational pleasure” that he considers matching what he's supposed to be like. and when it's over he can always blame the pain and not himself for whatever sensations he had.

"I just think that it is unfair," Roach complains in the galley as Izzy keeps chopping the vegetables.

Izzy hums.

"There have been two amputations on this ship and I wasn't allowed to do either of them! Lucius did his own and Jim and Archie did yours! I'm great at amputations but does anyone let me do theirs? No they do not!" Roach lets out an angry huff. "Do they think I have all these cleavers and sharp knives for nothing?"

Izzy hums.

"Just one little amputation. Is that so much to ask?"

Izzy hums.

"I'm great with a cleaver. Or a knife. Everyone thinks so."

"If it makes you feel better I promise you that if I have to have another amputation, you can do it."

Roach grins. "You will? Thanks!" He looks Izzy up and down. "How are your fingers doing?"

"My fingers are fine!"

"Are you sure? And your other leg?" Roach nudges Izzy's right leg with his foot.

"Also fine!"

"I expect you to tell me the moment it isn't," Roach tells him. "I'm not letting anyone else steal a third chance at an amputation."

Izzy rolls his eyes but smiles. "I'll tell you if any of my limbs hurt."

Roach nods. "Good. Thank you!"

they really did put izzy down like a three-legged elderly dog, huh. diagnosed him with narrative arthritis and then didn't even bother trying him on pain management before picking up the gun and walking him out back.
