I often don't like Minthara in throuples because she is strictly monogamous. But, fuck it, I got a new crack ship and it is the only throuple I want: Minthara x Wyll x Halsin. Since Larian won't give them attention, they can give each other attention and they'd be good company for one another. She'll have one partner who's got those luscious horns (and we all know she likes them horns) and another partner who's as thick as a tree.

It's just the three of them, hanging out, trauma bonding over their neglect and abandonment from their overgod Larian. One thing leads to another, and Minthara's on the floor getting double pen-

sneak peek of a new wip that I am suddenly 5k deep in, after being bitten by the bg3 bug! 💕 I had this idea of the grove druids celebrating a spring fertility festival, with druid!tav/reader learning about it and joining Halsin in the woods 👀🌲

"Is it just the Solstice that draws you to me?" Is it just duty that has ensnared his affections? Is this no more than fulfilling the desires of Silvanas?

He laughs, with a shake of his head, "If our first meeting had been in the Grove, your beauty would have been more than enough to enthrall me."

The knowledge is flattering. That he still would have wanted you, in another life, in another time. His next words are enough to cast the rest of your doubts aside.

"But make no mistake. For quite some time now, I have desired more. Deeper than the skin, down to the marrow." He brings your entwined fingers to his mouth, his lips pressing against your knuckles, "I fear you stole more than gold that day, in the Sanctum."

There is much that he reveals, with his words.

A sense that your feelings are more than reciprocated. A reminder that he does not mince words, like others you have known.

For as keen as your eyes are, you should have realized this sooner. The last curl of unease lifts, wafting up to stars above.

“How do we begin?”

“Eager. I like that.” Halsin grins - his eyes dragging over you, as his voice pitched low, “For one… you are overdressed.”

The forest scene makes me laugh cause Astarion is all:

"The only thing on my mind is depraved, carnal lust" and my Tav is like "No need for the drama let's just have some fun" then they are both just making faces like this:

journaling for my bard is so fun but there's also sm to write. i got 6 pages written so far (back AND front) and this is all the stuff i need to write about from just playing today (for like 6 hours but who's counting rly)

im trans so all of the characters get to be funky about gender as a treat. 

Shadowheart is a trans woman in my heart. I don't know I think something about her just screams that to me, you know? And I think the idea that she transitions socially quite young, young enough that the name her parents call her when they see her was a name she chose herself, I think that just scratches an itch in my brain. Extra points for the fact that Shar's games means she likely can't remember so much of her own journey with gender, how strange and uncomfortable and isolating that would feel. Its just a story I think is interesting and would be fun to explore thematically. 

Gale is a trans guy because I'm projecting. Those enchanted underwear he has? Magic packer. Also something about his personality just screams trans guy to me. Again, projecting. 

Wyll is also a trans guy. This is because A) I like him and he's cool, so he gets my highest honor- the trans-ification bean. And B) because it makes his relationship to heroism and his ideals have such a nice texture. His gentlemanly, heroic beliefs become both an expression of how fundamentally good he is and also a fun bit of gender expression. He's playing the role of the dashing princely figure both because he wants to help people and because that's what manhood is to him. Also it colors his relationship with his dad in a way I really like. 

Karlach for me is like. She could be anything. Trans woman, nonbinary, cis, genderqueer, literally anything goes. She just has a fun gender expression and I think she's best taken as just, like. Her gender is that she's Karlach. 

Lae'zel is cis to me. But her culture has very different rules and I feel like her relationship with gender would reflect that. I feel like she'd be a cis woman, but insofar as she doesn't really want to be anything else. Like, she doesn't dislike womanhood it just doesn't matter to her as much as cool weapons and dragons do. And I like that, its fun to examine gender in that way. 

Astarion is also cis to me. I've seen headcanons that I like well enough but I don't know, I just cannot help but see him as cis. I think he has a funky relationship with gender and expression, but he's ultimately a guy. He'd love drag though. He gives me that vibe. The performance would be appealing to him. Maybe he doesn't do drag himself but he'd love the scene. 

Halsin is nonbinary to me and I will not be accepting criticism at this time.  This is just me blatantly pointing the tran-ification beam at a character I like and I do not care.

got manipulated into working for the Zhentarim because they were so naive, and when they realised the truth about the criminal acts they were committing it was too late to get out of

went along with what they were told to do reasonably unwillingly under threat of blackmail

tried to save for top surgery until one day one of their Zhent contacts told them about a doctor who’d do it for free if Tav smuggled something big

foolishly they agreed

their surgery was done - not to a high standard - but their blood was used as part of a spell component to put an arcane circle in their chest.

much like a bag of holding it was meant to connect to a harmless demiplane, except the ritual went wrong and it connected to a very occupied demiplane

something that’s now linked to Tav burst out its tentacles from their chest and tried to attack everything in reach

Tav was left abandoned in an alley when the attack was over - likely would have bled to death if the Nautiloid hadn’t picked them up

on a lighter note than most of today, I've kinda been amusing myself by thinking about which companion would be the best dancer, because there's definitely a case to be made for pretty much everyone

so far my thinking is that

- if it involves improvisation OR done as a Display, it's Wyll (incredible CHA and performance)

- if there's someone around to copy and/or one-up, it's Astarion (absurd DEX and acrobatics)

- if it's a slow number that doesn't involve a lot of moving around but DOES involve prolonged, intense eye contact, it's Gale (need I say it, he has proficiency in romance)

- if it's done in some tavern/at some party, with a crowd that's like one spilled beer from a bar fight, AND the goal is essentially to have loud, wild fun while feeling each other up, it's Karlach

I think someone should just throw all of the BG3 companions into Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Just take the post-canon generally considered "good" endings and throw em in there.

Why? Because it would be hilarious to me and also that's like the one official module that goes up to level 20.

I won't lie and say the only thing I can think of is the team trying to kill an angry mechanical purple worm while screeching at Gale because "what do you mean we're in Waterdeep and you know the bastard who owns this death trap?? I was perfectly alright in the damn Underdark thank you very much I did not sign up for this"

I don't know if this is a hot take but halsin is hands down the worst companion and that could be easily solved by having him join you at the beginning of act 2 and giving him literally anything to do in act 3 except hit on you
