Hii! 3, 27 and 29 for the ask game :)
Hello hello hello <3 and thank you for the questions!
3. What was the last song you listened to?
DAUGHTER, by Beyoncé.
Since I've already shared a lot of Cowboy Carter songs, I'm also going to tell you the one I listened to before DAUGHTER: Back On 74 by Jungle.
27. What’s your favorite book? Or just one you’ve read a few times?
Technically I've already answered this one here, but of course I'm going to take the chance to talk about another one of my favourites. :)
I'm a big Jonas Jonasson fan and I've re-read his novels many times; my favourite is a tie between The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared and The Girl Who Saved The King Of Sweden. They're delightfully absurd, marvelously funny stories that always put me in a good mood, and I adore them.
29. Does it take you a long time to make decisions?
Hmm. I do get stuck on decisions sometimes, mostly on choices that somehow involve other people, but apart from those few times I'm a fairly decisive person -- and when I've made a decision it tends to be final; it's hard to change my mind. I do struggle a bit with executive function, though, and afaik that's related to decision-making, so perhaps I'm less of a decisive person than I think!

the concept of benjen and lyanna being identical twins, and subsequently making the conversation of "you're not my father" / "more's the pity" between ben and jon even more painful

started rereading a book that I had mixed feelings about but have also thought about a lot since (and I do like to revisit works that had a particular resonance with me to try and figure out what that captivating something was) and anyway I did read this book the first time when I was probably too young for it (I think my mom was reading it for a book club and I saw it on her nightstand and read the blurb and she told me I probably should wait until I was older to read it) and I remember that sneaking into her room to read it in little snatches. Sitting on the floor of her bathroom in secret with that book. But ANYWAY what I'm trying to say is I remembered being vaguely annoyed with the narrator and I was wondering if that would still be the case reading it as an adult. And the answer is yes. I am finding her insufferable, in fact.
#it's The Thirteenth Tale in case you were wondering#and this gal is annoying for multiple reasons#but to get specific. She was born with a conjoined twin but her twin died and she didn't find out about this until she was ten#and weirdly defines like her whole identity on that#haven't got far enough yet but I remember later in the book they like wax poetic about this inherent sense of ''twin-ness''#and like her always feeling the shadow of her dead twin and stuff#which. ok. vibes I guess.#but hear me out. I was also actually a twin (we think) bc my mom literally had a miscarriage but then was still pregnant with me#which. (1) was not a defining moment to find out about bc I do not even remember her first telling me that#(2) maybe has caused me to wonder more about what it would have been like to grow up as a twin than your average person#but I also think that's probably normal to wonder about a little#and (3) is definitely not something I would base my identity around at all??#granted. being born connected is more dramatic and also this is literally gothic fiction#but still idk she's all like ''oh woe is me I'm half of a whole and I've been lonely forever bc I'm missing my other half''#like. girl me too? but idk I'm normal about it#also the whole ''I only read books all day and I don't talk to anyone and I just work at my dad's bookstore#where I don't actually have to do that much work I just get to read whatever I want and also write when I feel like it''#I HATE YOU#she's just like me if my main character syndrome was indulged and if I was ANNOYING and self-obsessed#what growing up an only child will do to you ig lol#if you've reached the end of my very petty and specific rant. hello.

Two little guys I thought of at work yesterday, while thinking about my current selection of music I use while drawing and trying to come up with more villains 4 Newstar's story, Meet the twin Kittypet Brothers Jekyll and Hyde!
Adopted together from the same litter, they were named for their similar appearance, yet contrary temperaments, the Mild mannered and friendly Jekyll, and the Wiley, quarrelsome Hyde. While the latter of the two is quick to make fun of his brother, and the former to chastise his hastiness on exploring to far and to brazenly into those "Dangerous Wild Cat's" Territory, they still love each other more than anything, Hyde being protective of his pacifist brother to a fault.
...But unfortunately...apparently not enough.
Maybe it was bad luck, maybe Jekyll was right about those forest cats, but one day, a patrol mistook the gentle cat, looking for his troublesome brother after he had been gone for much longer than usual, as such brother, who had been mucking around a bit to much in their territory, Squabbling with previous patrols, catching to much of their food and straying far to close to their camp. The end result was poor Jekyll meeting his untimely fate at the claws of one of the most aggressive of said clans patrol, sick and tired of this pet disrespecting and taking from them.
When Hyde came across his brother, bloody and lifeless, he was more than devastated, his own brother, the brother who wouldn't hurt a mouse, the brother who he loved more than anything...
...the brother who's claw wounds beared the scent of the clans.
He would avenge his poor, late brother, and he would do it by staining more than just his pelt red....

wait i just had a theory
#so. malenia and miquella are twins right#obv they look different ages because of miquella's curse but they're twins#what if.#what if they were originally identical twins#and malenia is trans#and also her hair turned red from the scarlet rot's influence but it was naturally the same blonde as miquella#im headcanoning this now you can't change my mind#'but you see her naked and she clearly doesn't have-' that area is covered in rot scars obv it rotted off#the outer god of rot gave her free bottom surgery ig lol#hey with the way the golden order is it adds more to why her family didn't give a shit about her being cursed by the scarlet rot#they're just transphobic#that's in character considering they locked away two of their children for being born with horns#doesn't surprise me that they'd look at malenia coming out and just go 'oh well shame about that rot that's gonna kill you'#adds in even more reasoning for miquella to be outraged at them neglecting her situation#and deciding to form his own society where he accepts and cares for all the people shunned by the golden order#yeah no okay this started out half as a joke hc but i think im gonna die on this hill now#malenia is trans and that's that#ALSO adds more reason to why malenia is so devoted to her brother#he's the only one from her family that accepted her#yes in canon he's the only one who tried to help her with the rot (and his success is what earned him his title/nickname)#and that's plenty reason why she would be#but this works out in my mind
