Tea is just a winner all around. It goes well with hot and cold - forcing your body to cool down or your hands to grow warm. It's great for intermediate weather because you can just leave the heating off. It comes in colourful boxes with either the most straightforward names you can imagine or the most ephemeral ones they could think of. It's water and officially counts as hydrating yourself. They come in bags or in a loose form, the latter of which you can contain in cutesy little holders, or just plain round ones. There are flavours to be discovered, you have no idea. And even if it's old, even if it's past its due date, as long as it looks fine and smells fine, you're fine. We will be drinking tea during the apocalypse.

All the above does not count for tea with ginger. It is the devil's spawn. We do not speak of it.

I just woke up from a dream of my upcoming family Thanksgiving where my most despised uncle got the cops called on him for slapping me.

I laughingly rehashed the story for the police officer.

My uncle had insulted me by saying I was a "piece of shit waste of space just like my mother".

And so I chuckled and said, "hmm, yes, my mother and I do have a thing or two in common. Most notably that we independently came to the same conclusion- you are a selfish, childish, waste of a man, with a suspiciously unnatural hairline."

And that is when you could hear a pin drop, and he turned purple with rage, and slapped the shit out of me.

Then I called the police, and my family started to try and convince me not to call them, I said, "I'm not going to be abused at the hands of my own family and be silenced, you are all witnesses, if you do not speak up and tell the truth when the time comes, I will know who my abusers are, and who stands by and allows it."

Then my Uncle tries to verbally abuse me some more and tells me he demands respect and will not be disrespected by a child and no one will stand up for me because I brought it on myself.

And so I tell him, "I am a grown woman now, you will demand nothing of me, least of all respect. I responded to verbal abuse with truth, and you responded with physical abuse. You don't deserve respect, but the consequences you are about to receive are well deserved and of your own making."

Woke up very satisfied after seeing that asshole cuffed and spitting mad in the back of a police car.

recently become a drinker of tea and while i. uh. haven't ACTUALLY fully finished a tea yet, ive been trying so many types. i got some tea samplers over the summer and theyve been my little pick-me-up at work. and its so nice.

My mom made a typo! Usually it's me who makes them and I just thought it was so cute and charming of my perfect and super cool mom to make a lil mistake that I often do. Made me feel like "haha, she really is my mom"

Bought some osmantheus oolong tea and brooooo it is so insanely good. It was bagged and like $14/8 bags (equal to the cost of the groceries I was buying TT) but so worth it. The scent is really so lovely and distinct and the first steep barely had to be in there to be super fragrant and refreshing, and the second steep is a bit more astringent but rounds really nicely on the tongue and the smell stays really well

My water filter is working :D

Had zero problems doing the things I usually do! Putting on clothes, getting out of bed, going to class! Yay!

Did not blank out on my math test today and definitely passed!!

You hear about the one-hit wonder all the time, but you know what we need to discuss more? What I call "one-hit blunders". And no, I'm not talking about bad one-hit wonders.

I mean where the artist is actually really good, but not only did only one of their songs become popular, but it was the worst possible lone hit for them. Either the song just sucks, it's a really bad representation of the artist, or it's both.
