i currently can’t stop thinking about gwynriel having a little baby girl with dark hair and big teal eyes and she looks so much like catrin and while nothing can ever truly fill the hole in her heart after her sister gwyn knows catrin would be so proud of her and would do anything for that little girl and gwyn finally feels like some sort of missing piece has returned to her

and azriel? he is a goner as soon as his daughter is born and her little hand clings to his scarred fingers and he realises he couldn’t care less about what his hands have done in the past, how much blood is on them, because he would burn the world down if it meant keeping his daughter safe and give her the childhood he never had and

i just KNOW gwynriel would be the most protective parents like forget about feysand and their powers if anyone hurt gwynriels daughter and they would both be absolutely feral like I WOULD fear them

Any time I see any post about 'Rhys is an Elucien and Gwynriel shipper' or, going even further, 'Rhys ordered Elain to go to Lucien!' or, even further further, 'Rhys wants Azriel to be with Gwyn!' and the overall: Rhys wants Azriel and Elain to go to their respective redheads.

The ONLY thing that Rhys wanted at the time of Solstice is not to deal with a political fallout of Azriel potentially murdering Lucien in a Blood Duel. Because Rhys knows that that's exactly what would happen and Lucien stands no chance against Azriel (and just as a reminder, Rhys KNOWS that Lucien is Helion's son. And he still is convinced that Lucien would fall.)

The only thing that happened in the Bonus is Rhys forbidding his employee, who took an oath to serve him, to not pursue Elain. And Azriel, btw, immediately pushed back telling Rhys that he is overstepping his authority. 'You can't order me to do that,' was immediately what Azriel said.

At no point has Rhys ever expressed any desire or encouragement towards the Elucien coupling. I think of all people, Rhys is very well aware of what a bad bond feels like, having lived with his parents and seeing it firsthand.

Notice how he also didn't pull Elain into his office and didn't berate HER. Because his relationship with Elain is very different from his relationship with Nesta. Rhys....likes Elain. Rhys accommodates Elain. Rhys values his relationship with Elain. Rhys doesn't want to upset Elain. Unlike with Nesta, Rhys doesn't push or pressure her into anything.

Rhys would never actually force Elain into an unwanted mate bond. Don't think that Rhys is an Elucien shipper!

Furthermore, as there is not actual 'Gwynriel' anywhere in ACOSF and this so-called 'relationship' is completely made up, Rhys would certainly not be a Gwynriel shipper.

In fact, I can guarantee that if he found out that Azriel was going after a Priestess in a sexual way, he'd literally banish him and strip him of all his ranks and powers.

So no, just like Feyre, Rhysand, the High Lord of Night Court, is not a Gwynriel or Elucien shipper.

He is a Feysand shipper first and foremost. And he has shown again and again that he likes Elain. And will ultimately care about her happiness.

ACOTAR Future Families Headcanons

Ok I have few fun family headcanons for the acotar ships. (Disclaimer: I am not an fanfic author/writer so none of this will ever show up in a fanfic, I just like to create characters for headcanons, if anyone wants to use any of this for a story your more than welcome to do so just tag me so I can read it please 🙏😊😊😊🙏)

Feysand: they obviously have Nyx. I think they will definitely have 1 more and it will be a little girl. I also expect her name to be Stella (Star). (Personally I was expecting Nyx to be named Noctis and that their daughter would get the name Nyx since Nyx is actually the name of the Goddess of Night.)

Nessian: I am 100% committed to Cassian being a girl dad. My headcanon is that they have 4 girls. All with beautiful untouched wings. All who have embraced their Illyrian Valkyrie warrior training but also love fashion and formal events. I have this funny snippet that lives rent free in my head of Cassian proudly yelling at someone saying “My 10yr old daughter can kick your ass while wearing a tutu.” I think all their names will begin with the letter C: Cassandra(Cassie) Nesta surprised him with this name, Corine(Corie), Calista(Callie), Camille (Camie).

I do have this idea that Nesta and Cassian start their family journey off with them adopted an orphan/abandoned Illyrian baby girl that Cassian found and brought home to get her medical help and to just nurse back to health. Nesta sees him holding this crying baby trying to get her to eat from the bottle the healer gave him and she just melts for them both. And this baby is Cassandra.

Gwynriel: they had twins, boy girl twins. The girl was named after Gwyn Sister Catrin. And the boy’s name is Haden with his nickname being Hades (this is a guilty pleasure name for me, I have wanted to name a character this for years it even was a name on my boy baby name list). If though they want to stick closer to his name being similar to his sisters though, the boy version of Catrin is Cayson/Kasen/Cason (let me also add Kasen is my sons name so I am slightly bias in the boys names for this one).

Elucien: my favorite ship by the way. And yet I headcanon that they have 1 child, a son. I know crazy 😜. I have 2 reason for this 1) I like to think they like to keep their life simple. 2) I think they struggled to get pregnant. Their son is one of the youngest of the cousins, and he is highly cherished by his parents and family.

Their son’s name is Renard. Renard is French for Fox and Reinhard is German for Brave/Strong Council, which I think perfectly represents a child of Lucien and Elain. His nickname is Ren, I love it so much 🥰🥰🥰

He comes off as shy and definitely likes to clutch at his mother skirts when they first arrive at places. He is the quietest of ALL the cousins, lol (including Eris’ kids). But he’s observant and inquisitive and can be intrigued/curious. He likes to bake and garden with his mother, plays chess and work with his spell cleaving magic with his father and grandfather, go on hikes with his father and uncle where he learns about tracking and living off the land, he loves to read books, he loves to paint and draw, and he likes the piano. He literally is the little chameleon of the family, he see what interests other people and absorbs all their knowledge and collects it to try for himself. He’s been a little cautious around Uncle Cassian because Uncle Cassian was super excited to have another Nephew and tried to treat him like Nyx and Hades and that’s just not the kind of kid Ren is. Ren is closest to Nesta and Cassian’s youngest daughter Camille though. Camie is usually the bull in a China shop but with Ren she will slow down and let him show her what he is reading or drawing or teach her a new piece on the piano.

Eris: Eris is my other girl dad. He has 5 girls, which are nicknamed the Autumn Vixens when they get older. Him and Cassian are in a silent competition about who is the better girl dad, Eris beat Cassian recently by being able to do better girls hair styles. I am leaning towards their names being French inspired: Reine, Sophie & Sylvie (twins), Colette, and Elise.

Vassian: Vassa is an all boys mom. She has 6 boys and on her 7th pregnancy it’s finally girl.

You know what I love? Azriel didn’t have to go and save Gwyn from the blood Rite because he knew she could take care of herself. He trained her so he knew. He saved Elain because she was weak and defenseless and a damsel and sat in a tent and waited for someone to save her. And guess what Gwyn did in the Blood rite? Actually made an effort and helped and even stayed up in the tree. That was her SPYING!!!!!!! Who’s to say Azriel didn’t give her any tips during the time he went over dagger handling? Gave her tips on how to spy? It’s great foreshadowing from S.J.M!!

And I cant wait for Azriel to gift Gwyn a dagger so she can name it Silver Majesty. S.J.M gave us that for a reason. At least she’ll accep it. Unlike Elain who gave back TruthTelller. Gwyn sees Azriel’s love for daggers and it is seen in the bonus. “A comfort for every growing child.” I can’t wait for them to have a child (this was foreshadowed with the above line) and they can have bad ass warrior parents.

The next book is taking forever because S.J.M got bored writing Elain’s book so she has changed it to Gwynriel. I can’t wait for their endgame and for the rest of the Elriels to finally leave our space. Gwynriels have been here longer. It’s time for others to go now who can’t accept Gwynriel is endgame.

I don’t like people pinning Gwyn and Elain against each other but since you wanted to come in my anons doing so let’s go through all your points from canon. Both Gwyn and Elain are great characters and are strong in different ways. But now that I’ve read your fanon theories let me respond with some canon.

whether Azriel believes in Gwyns abilities or not that man cared more about his enemy Eris than when she was drugged and kidnapped by multiple men…. Is that how mates act? not according to Ruhn!

Ruhn glared at her as Hunt continued to glow and menace. It means that he’s going ballistic in the way that only mates can when the other is threatened. It’s what happened then, and what’s happening now.

Azriel may not have been able to go to the blood rite but that wouldn’t have stopped him from showing emotion around his friends if he actually cared anough to. In acowar we see azriel is full of rage and is the first to notice Elain was taken. So he will show emotion like that over Elain but not his supposed mate? lol …...it’s funny you guys try to talk around azriel not really reacting to gwyn being kidnapped to the blood right by saying “it’s bc he knew she could handle herself!” Yet cassian was there and knew Nesta could handle herself and he was still freaking out. Cassian still showed concern over Emerie and Gwyn too.

“Gwyn was spying”. So I guess everyone in the blood rite are spys now?! It’s funny Emerie and Nesta watched their enemies at times too but no one credits them to being a spy. You guys can try and claim Gwyn is a spy blahhhh but SJM doesn’t compare Gwyn to any spy tactics at all in the books. But ya know who she does? Elain. You know who they wonder if azriel is training w spy techniques? Elain lol

She scanned Elain from head to toe, wondering if she’d been taking lessons in stealth either from Azriel or the two half-wraiths she called friends.”

You know who’s good at keeping secrets like a spy does… Elain. You know who’s not? Gwyn lol Nesta tells Gwyn how they are looking for the trove and not tell anyone at all and what does Gwyn do? Tells Merrill

For a side that screams Elriels have no reading comprehension I would think you’de understand this by now… the I won’t be using it today line means she can use it FOR THE DAY not keep it. The emphasis SJM puts on the truth teller scene is that Azriel has never let anyone else touch it ever and he still lends it to Elain.

Cassian gawked at Azriel, and I wondered how often Azriel had lent out that blade— Never, Rhys said from where he finished buckling on his own weapons against the side of the wagon. I have never once seen Azriel let another person touch that knife.

It’s pretty telling how Azriel has been training Gwyn(and the other ladies) for months w daggers, has even had at least 1 private dagger lesson with Gwyn but hasn’t let her even touch truth teller ….. but sureeeee she’ll get silver majesty or gray bullet or whatever other name yall want to make for truth teller other than it’s actual name in the books.

“Elains weak Gwyn is stronger!!” First of all both ladies are bad ass. Yes Gwyn did some really cool things in the blood rite and helped fight to stay alive alongside Nesta and Emerie, but Elain killed a evil king.Fought Hybern beasts w her bare feet, and this is without any actual training. Elain has badass powers and has put them on to finding Vassa, the suriel during the war, and looking into Koschei. And let’s see what Azriel thinks of Elain.

Lucien murmured to me, eye still fixed on Elain, “Should we—does she need …?” “She doesn’t need anything,” Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. When everyone else thought there was something wrong with her and she was going crazy… Azriel was the one who knew she didn’t need anything. Azriel was the one to figure out she was a seer. Azriel was the one who realized they needed her.

I have no idea what your going on about in that last paragraph. I’m going to read whatever SJM writes because it’s not that serious. In fact most elriels say regardless of who ends up together they will continue reading the books. It’s a lot of the gwynr/els who post about how they won’t read a Elriel book blah blah blah. But trying to say Gwynriels have been around longer? You’re funny w that one. Seeing how gwyn is only in 1 book yet elriel has been being foreshadowed since acomaf. There’s been elriels around since then.

I'm starting to believe that Gwynriel and Elucien are just crazy. I just want the next book to put an end to their crazy theories. Literally, we don't care that Elain & Lucien are soulmates (even if it's possible that we get a fake connection between them). Why ? Because SJM herself introduced the concept that soulmates may not work together with Rhysand's parents. So frankly, those who think that Elain & Lucien will end up together just because they are soulmates, you must have forgotten this huge and not at all trivial detail. And all their interactions show how uncomfortable they are with each other and avoid each other. And no, this has nothing to do with Feysand or Nessian because they were always attracted to each other and had plenty of romantic scenes before they got together before their dedicated book. Elain & Lucien have none of that. It makes no sense that SJM would have waited for their book to give romantic scenes between them, she would have done it before like with all her other couples! And I'm not even going to elaborate on Gwyn & Azriel. It's bullshit. The necklace doesn't even end with Gwyn. Necklace that represents Elain. And the ribbon has nothing to do with conquering Azriel, it's for Gwyn's trauma propfes. Azriel doesn't have any particular behavior with her. He's not particularly worried when she's in mortal danger for the rite. And don't tell me it's because he trusts her. Rhysand and Cassian completely trust Feyre and Nesta's abilities and that doesn't stop them from being super scared for her. It's literally mandatory. And yet not for Azriel with Gwyn. The scene of Azriel saving Gwyn was never romanticized. Gwyn never spoke about Azriel or to Azriel in any particular way. Azriel's description of Gwyn and her energy is exactly the same as Nesta's. So Nesta is in love with Gwyn with that logic? It's just a fucking nod to Gwyn's powers that will probably be brought back to the table in the story and will play a role at some point. There is no romance between Elucien and Gwynriel. Shit.

I saw this one post ranting about how people love Emerie but bash gwyn because of Azriel. Most elain fans don’t hate gwyn because there’s not much to hate about gwyn. She’s not a main character - as such we didn’t get to see any of her flaws. I know many people bash Feyre for being too stubborn/immature, elain for being too passive/meek, Nesta for being too aggressive/mean but it’s their flaws that make them such interesting characters. Of course SJM can always expand on gwyns character and further her development in future books, but as of right now she’s kinda one-dimensional and was only written to serve in Nesta’s character growth which makes it so easy to use her character as a self-insert.

I think most people are put off by gwyn because of a select few who prop her up by tearing other female characters (particularly elain and Feyre) down. Gwyn can be nice without elain and Feyre being mean. Gwyn can be motherly and nurturing without elain being cold and Feyre being a bad mother. Gwyn can stand up for Nesta and be a good friend without Elain and Feyre being bad sisters. I rarely ever see headcanons/fics about Emerie being Nyx’s second mom and teaching Feyre how to parent, or Emerie yelling at elain for being a bad sister and scolding her for leading poor, little baby Lucien on - and yet I’ve seen countless about gwyn.

And honestly I don’t believe that the fandom likes Emerie more than gwyn at all. In fact, I would say that gwyn is probably more loved throughout the fandom than Emerie is - which is messed up in its own right. In my opinion Emerie, a POC and LGBT character, rarely gets the same amount of recognition as gwyn, who’s a white cis character.

The only reason most elriel might *hate* Gwyn and I say that in an exaggerated way bcs annoyance is more the word, is due to how her stans have shoved Gwyn down our throats ever since acosf. How in every situation, they would use Gwyn to tare down Elain and show how much better and amazing Gwyn was. How Gwyn deserved Az and Elain didnt, etc etc. Other then that, she is just irrelevant. She’s Nesta’s friend, a nice character that was part of acosf and thats pretty much it. There is nothing to hate Gwyn herself for. She’s not done anything wrong, she isn’t a polarising character nor is she complex. She’s just there. The perfect bff. Perfect way to put it anon, Gwyn is one-dimensional. Whereas characters like the sisters or even batboys have flaws that make them complex -> they’re more interesting to read about and im sure as an author, to write about. Yh sure, Mass can “expand” on Gwyns character but thats a “maybe” as of now Gwyn is just a standard character thats perfect for self-inserting with - which many of her stans do.

Gwynriels are the ones that made Gwyns character all about Azriel. Poor girl showed 0 romantic interest in him. It was her “stans” who forcefully interwined Gwyn and Az together. Instead of appreciating and focusing on her joruney during acosf - they’ve made discussions surrounding Gwyns character be related to Azriel and how can she be the perfect/right Li for him. How can her trauma serve the next book. It wasnt elriels who did this. Im sure there are some elriels who are toxic and disgusting with their hate for gwyn but thats not the norm. In a general sense, no one hates Gwyn bcs of Azriel. He was ready to risk his life for Elain and when it came to Gwyn he wS more concerned with another redhead…there’s no reason for any elriel to feel threatened by Gwyn. I think - in my personal experience- we’re just heavily annoyed with her stans who have put so much false importance onto this new side character over characters that have been apart of the OG series.

YES, Gwyn can be all those things: Loving, funny, protective etc WITHOUT the need to villanise Elain and Feyre. The amount of times I see Gwyn stans say how Gwyn will put Elain/Feyre in their place for how they treated Nesta or how Gwyn will be Nyx’s favourite over his literal auntie is crazy. Its bcs they dont care about Emerie enough to make her a main character. Gwyn however they need to be a main character- part of the main cast. Thats why they insert her into the IC dynamic and have her interacting with all these important people so she can then be important and integral to the story. So the narrative can focus on Gwyn as it does with the inner circle. Obviously, Azriels Li will be part of his family so they need to include Gwyn with the IC.

whoever is claiming Emerie is liked more then Gwyn is wilding. They’re straight up lying, anyone part of the fandom knows how much Gwyn has been hyped up and how loved she is. Emerie does not get the same recognition that Gwyn gets and yh she should, emerie was a pretty amazing character in Acosf. Yet ofc the white woman would get more popular, they’re also giving the illyrian plot to Gwyn and her story instead of Emerie’s who it belongs too.

No Gwynriel or Elucien is saying that no one should ever reject the bond. That no one should have that choice and everyone should accept. Antis often bring in the example of Rhys and Tamlins parents. And of course they could have rejected the bond. The difference is, though, that rejecting a bond has terrible consequences for both parties, that don’t fit in a romance novel. No one wants to read about how two main characters are physically hurting the rest of their lives. That’s not the happy ending sjm goes for.

I know a popular headcanon is that Gwynriel will have a daughter and name her after Catrin, and I absolutely love that too, BUT I can't stop imagining them having a little boy with wings and Azriel can give his own little boy the childhood he never got to have. Like he'll be so loving, always making sure their son is comfortable and knows he can always come to him (and Gwyn) if he is scared or sad or just troubled by something, and he will always encourage his son to go out and play or try new things and whenever he and his cousins are getting into some mischief (because they are always up to some new shenanigans and all of their parents are slowly going crazy) Az will secretly be a little happy-- because he never got the chance to when he was young. And the first time he can take his son flying UGHH he'll remember how scared and alone he was in that dungeon, his insticts screaming at him to fly and then he sees his own son being so happy and laughing because he can fly with his dad and there will definitely be some tears. I don't know, I just think it'll soothe his inner child in such a beautiful way

Obviously this can all be true with a daughter as well, I think he would act the same, but I just like the idea of them having a little boy.

Forbidden love is one of the best tropes and one SJM hasn't done. It's perfect for Elriel! How could you not want to read about it. And we all know Azriel sneaks him & Elain around in his shadows so that they can see each other

I seriously am DYING for a good forbidden romance. I am so fed up with enemies to lovers, I can puke.

to me, the one interesting (and underdeveloped) romance in Crescent City was actually Baxian and Danika. I really wish it was better explored, and why they made of these decisions. As much as I wasn't a fan of Danika's, I thought that romance had such a great and interesting potential.

I feel like SJM touches forbidden romance (Asterin and her Hunter, Manon's parents, even Lucien and Jesminda) and it's actually really poignant and typically heart wrenching, but she never writes a whole story. And I hope that we get that treatment with Elriel! Because of the bond, the pressures, the societal pressures, the politics and Rhys.

yk what? Let Gwyn be a fucking lightsinger? So what? I thought y’all love badass morally-grey villainous characters. Or does it not count when it gets in the way of your ship?

Isn’t a lightsinger literally the antithesis of a shadow singer? What about the light and dark imagery y’all live so much? Its not like this theory was born out of care for her character, it was purely just to make Gwynriel look bad. But it wouldn’t even do that in the context of the series

she’s still the same Gwyn; she doesn’t miraculously turn evil just because her crazy parentage is revealed or anything

if you use that “theory” to hate gwyn and call her evil… did you miss the story? An unspoken, but prominent, part of the series is that you are not your background.

The Batboys are regularly differentiated from their Illyrian heritage (problematic as it is). SJM literally makes it a point to emphasize that despite being raised in Illyrian culture they’re actually super feminist and great people unlike their uncivilized barbaric roots. I 100% have my issues with this, but it’s still apart of the narrative.

Their personal issues are that they feel unworthy due to being bastards, and the others work to make sure that they know they aren’t undeserving of love because of their parents

These guys base the entire trope/setup for the next book on the Bonus chapter and they think we are the ones obsessing over it? its like they know that the BC sinks their ship and again get triggered when someone mentions it.
