Supreme Court upholds federal regulations on 'ghost guns'

What's not said in the reporting is very troubling: that Trump's ATF may now arbitrarily decide that any gun you possess is a Felony, especially if that firearm has had any gunsmithing done to it.

I'm not talking about already "illegal" guns, possessed by "prohibited persons" — Trump's SCOTUS say that Trump's ATF can just say that previously legal firearm of yours is now illegal, for any pretext, especially if it's had any gunsmithing done to it.

In his ruling, SCOTUS say the ATF merely has to allege that you might have done something, and it's up to you to make an affirmative defense in court.

The pattern of addressing issues in the US are all the same. Criminalize and legally restrict access to something associated with obvious problems, that everyone agrees on as issues. However the focus of decreasing those issues are on what seems common sense to see as the root cause. Like guns, or substances.

But criminalizing shit only creates a need for underground pathways to access shit, and usually the most harmful to use restricted shit are people of privilege who may not have it easier to get access to something, but is less likely to be hindered by the 🐖 in their pursuit or possession of contraband.

If you wanna alleviate social issues related to things like gun or substance use, or violence in general, you have to change the cause of it and the cause of the intensity which increases over time.

But making it illegal sure as shit don't work.

As he was threatening people with his assault rifle, brave BLM protesters tried to disarm the gunman. Kyle Rittenhouse killed two unarmed men that night, and by claiming self-defense —he got away with it.

Now, Rittenhouse is a celebrated speaker at Republican events, describing him as a "hero to millions." They give him standing ovations while chanting his name.

To review: Republicans tried to humiliate a teenager with disabilities because he openly expressed the love he has for his family. But, they praise another teenager for shooting to death two unarmed people who would be alive today if Kyle had just left his f*cking assault rifle at home.

The deranged, upside-down "values" of Trump's Republican Party are not just weird, not just perverse —they're dangerous.

Just a reminder. One of, if not the main reason that many people dont want highspeed rail in the United States is the same reason many are opposed to affordable housing and healthcare.

Equality.

A highspeed rail system that ran along the Interstate would allow millions of people economic freedom and opportunities that comes with choosing your employer and housing from essentially anywhere in the country.
