i just spent like an hour to solve linux problem again.. because my man page colors suddenly stopped working! and you can't have uncolorful man pages. 0_0

thankfully i had a second machine (my server) to compare outputs to..

i eventually tracked down the culprit, and it was groff being updated to version 1.23.0! seems totally unrelated to man, doesn't it¿ :)

now i have to figure out if i can solve this better than just downgrading it to 1.22.4

PS: i spent way too much time barking up the less tree, because the config variables are called LESS_TERMCAP_*

edit: you have to set the GROFF_NO_SGR environment variable to 1

So, apparently, Simon is a Hebrew name written שמעון and pronounced Sheem'on

(Petrikov is a Balkan Slavic surname, and their version of Simon is Šimon and also pronounced Sheemon)

And Groff is a Dutch surname pronounced ʁroff, with a French R immediately followed by a Spanish R

A rough sketch I did of one of my trolls, Groff, not super long ago. Might take this to paper at some point, but I haven't figured if I'm honestly content with it as is or not. There's little details I want to try and emphasize in a way I just can't do in a sketch, but can on paper, like the small tear in the corner of his eye

It has just about the right vibe to it. Just about. So I've left it as is for now

haven't seen many people worried about rogue being trapped in some barren dimension with 5 very angry chuldur yet, but i thought i'd put my thoughts out there anyways.

rogue has absolutely convinced them all not to kill him in exchange for him creating stories and drama for them. rogue is now dungeon master for the chuldur family, and is stuck dming the longest, most chaotic dnd session ever played, while he waits for the doctor to find him.

they're very excitable and he's currently trying to convince them that the rules actually make the game more fun, and no, you can't just switch out your player character to play my dm npc instead, that ruins the stakes.
