mind you its a nuanced convo like 90% of people shouldnt own a parrot of any kind and 99.9% should not own macaws or cockatoos or what have you because its such an intense commitment and you SHOULD have the space and resources to bring that bird a good level of freedom.......... thsts not really what im talking about though its just when someone sees a bird and goes He Should Be Free... idk theres just something weirdly humancentric about that train of though idk ifnqhat im saying makes sense

Transformers prime decepticons as birds (ignore that two of them can’t canonically fly ok)

Soundwave - barn owl (only one where the original bird colors are completely changed. The barn owl has a distinct disc like face, black glassy eyes, and has great hearing, which i thought fit him very well, so that should make up for the color inconsistency)

Megatron - bearded vulture (the bird’s already piercing red eyes matches Meg well, along with the black/greyish feathers framing the face similarly to his helm)

Starscream - peregrine falcon (one of the fastest birds in the world. It has a distinct brow bone and the black/white face matches his helm somewhat)

Knockout - northern cardinal (a bright red bird with a spiked crown and black eyes)

Breakdown - blue indian ringneck (a blue bird with yellow touches, along with a red/orange beak like BD’s face)

Skyquake - great green macaw (a large green bird with red touches and a strong beak meant for crushing, blue wing feathers changed to match the glass of his cockpit)

Dreadwing - hyacinth macaw (a color variant of his twin: blue and yellow/gold)

Airachnid - rook (first considered making her a raven, but the rook’s already white beak matched her face better, plus iridescent/purplish neck feathers)

Shockwave - victoria crowned pidgeon (a purplish chest and a distinctive red eye matches him fairly well, plus his many antennae and wings sticking out of his silhouette kinda fits the feathered crown)

An as of yet unwritten scene that sort of is like an argument between Nina and Alloblue at one point, but does like lead to a cooldown, but conflicting thoughts on Alloblue's side. It's around the third act of the story with Nina after he's nearly killed by the antagonist, does she want to protect him for what he's done for her in return. As he does have a tough choice of a goal, he truly wants to either die fighting the antagonist himself for what he's taken from him and rejoin his family. However, it's then Nina reassures him he isn't going to be alone in his fight. Despite willing to fight the antagonist herself, she wants to regain her freedom back as Alloblue becomes nearly overprotective for her own safety from the antagonist. But she is also unwilling to leave him entirely and wants to make progress for him at living life again, with her promising to help him in the process.

Rainwing designs

I continue to posting art with designs, you will find other tribes on my page!

Liana-like. Here they are a little similar to leaf wings, but basically have the appearance of the canon rainwings. Long ridge and collar processes imitating climbing plants in the jungle, as well as horns resembling branches. Predominantly dark, green-brown tones, helping to blend into the surroundings.

Toucan-like. Very different from the canon ones, with a long beak, similar to toucans. No horns, but a comb. Feathered, fluffy collar and body covered with feathers on top. They cannot change color. Like birds, they most often live in huge hollow trees. The wings are smaller than those of other tribes, they fly poorly, the wings are feathered. Because of this, they mainly carry food to home and eat there. The tail is short with feathers, paws with long claws are responsible for support on the branches.

Snake-like. They look like huge snakes, but with horns and a crest. The collars are different, spiked, or like a cobra. Mostly they hang from branches. They have poison and are also capable of "hypnotizing". They change color barely noticeably, mostly they stick to camouflage coloring. They have no wings.

Chameleon-like. They differ from the canonical rainwings in their massiveness and the shape of the muzzle. They resemble horned chameleons, they can change color depending on their mood, or for camouflage. The color change also happens slowly, but noticeably. Notable features include huge eyes, allowing to see at a large angle, but slowing down the focus. Because of their slowness, they have a long, sticky tongue with poisonous saliva (paralyzes). In this case, rainwings are carnivorous. Their paws are also similar in structure to the paws of a chameleon. Otherwise, they are similar in body to rainwing ones. (yes, I know I didn’t draw the body) There are no wings.

Macaw-like. Unlike the Toucan-like, their beak is small, they have horns, and their wings are much larger. The tail is long with feathers at the end. They maneuver very well, but they cannot withstand long flights. They camouflage themselves as bright plants and fruits. They cannot change color. Their legs are short and without feathers.
