Zeus had decided to throw a party to announce the engagement, to which Hephaestus greatly protested. You had thought he would almost cancel the wedding due to his disagreement with the party, but you had convinced him that once you had the party, and the very public wedding, he would be free to go back to his work, uninterrupted save by you. You had decided to walk in together, once the party had begun so that everyone would see. This would cause a stir forcing Zues to make his announcement. You both knew how much he liked to drag things on for the dramatic flair.
Tumblr media
The party day arrived and you both were nervous. He had cleaned up, putting on a nice suit, not hiding behind his cloak. You had appreciated that he didn’t cut his hair, you liked the length, how it fell to his shoulders, dark and beautiful. He caught you staring with an amused eyebrow raised. You blushed.
“You look very handsome tonight.”
“Well I am getting engaged.” You laughed.
“You are already engaged.”
“Am I? I don’t remember asking.” You gave him a confused look. He just smirked.
“What is that supposed to mean?” He just grabbed your arm, tucking it into his.
“Let’s go. We wouldn’t want to be late to our own party.” He led you up the stairs to the doors.
“I’m sure you would hate missing out on a big event.” You teased, rolling your eyes causing that elusive smile to form on his face. You loved to see it, especially to be the reason it was there.
You both took a deep breath and entered the big hall. All eyes were on you, well, all eyes on your intertwined arms. You both kept your faces stoic and focused on walking to the base of Zues and Hera’s thrones. Zeus had a devilish grin and Hera had on a tight but approving smile. It was more than you thought you would get.
“Welcome, Hephaestus, Aphrodite. We were wondering if you would make it.” Zeus said, slightly irritated but appreciating a grand entrance. He stood in between you both as the crowd gathered around.
“Welcome gods and goddesses, I am sure you are wondering what the surprise party is for. Well wait no longer!” He then went on about something you weren’t paying attention to, trying to subtly look at Hephaestus and find your friend, Athena.
“And it is with pleasure that I announce the union of Hephaestus and Aphrodite!” The crowd was shocked into silence for a moment but quickly came to their senses knowing they needed to cheer. It was a bad idea to not seem like they approved the word of the king of the gods. At this time you caught Athena’s smile and she was very encouraging in her applause and approval. You slightly smiled, knowing it was your place to appear stoic for now. Zeus joined your hand with Hephaestus and you instantly felt calm. He had that effect on you. You slightly squeezed his hand and he reciprocated, and you could feel some tension leave him. When you walked down he never let go of your hand, though you got interrupted by the crowd showing congratulations. As much as you tried, you couldn’t hold his hand forever, as the crowd moved you two away, but you knew that you would find him as soon as you could. Athena had been very excited and you had talked for a while until Hera had come up to you.
“Congratulations” She smiled.
“Thank you, my queen.” You bowed, showing the proper protocol.
“It seems almost everyone is taking it well.” She mused. You frowned slightly.
“Almost everyone?” You weren’t naive to think everyone would be overjoyed, everyone would have an opinion.
“Just remember, no matter what you do, everyone is watching, you can’t escape notice. The trick is to do the best thing for everyone so that war can be avoided. We are fickle creatures.”
“Hence my betrothal in the first place.” She smiled wryly.
“Precisely. But remember, just because this marriage will be blessed, does not mean others will not want to harm you.” As if on cue, Ares made his way over. “Just be careful.” She whispered the last as he came over and barely bowed to her. Very rude and unacceptable but would be accepted as Zeus would not do anything if he knew. You were upset for her.
“My lady.” He said to Hera.
“Hmm” was all the acknowledgement she gave.
“Aphrodite.” He turned to you.
“Ares” Was all you gave him.
“Might we talk?” He was upset.
“We are talking.” You tried to sound as pleasant as you could, speaking with great charm.
“I meant alone.” He was lucky that another god had come to talk to Hera, as that statement alone was bold enough to incite violence.
“What is it that you need?” You continued speaking with charm, knowing it would calm him down, at least a little.
“You are engaged.”
“Yes.”
“To Hephaestus of all gods.”
“Yes.”
“What on Olympus possessed you to do that? Are you that unwell?” Now you were upset.
“Whatever do you mean? This was arranged by the king and queen.” knowing that would knock him down a peg, and it did. A short lived victory.
“But I had offered my hand, surely you knew that.”
“I had heard, yes.”
“So what is the problem?” He was confused, upset, and his ego bruised. You knew you had to be careful.
“There is no problem, Ares. There doesn’t need to be a problem.” You stared pointedly. “Please enjoy your night. And I will enjoy mine.” You made to move, but he grabbed your arm, forcing you to look at him.
“This isn’t over.” He said, threateningly. You steeled yourself.
“If you have a problem, bring it up with Zeus. He is the one who approved the match.” You yanked your arm away, only to stagger into a very strong, solid chest. Arms wrapped around you to steady you, and you immediately relaxed, knowing who your savior was. You looked up at him only to find him and Ares staring at each other. The fire in the eyes of your betrothed returned, but different; in a way you knew could start a war. You just grabbed his hand and led him away. He pulled you outside, near a beautiful arrangement of flowers. You knew Demeter’s, or perhaps Persephone’s, hand was here.
He had placed your back into the corner, hiding yourselves behind the flowers.
“Are you alright?” he asked, intensely, not mad at you.
“Yes. I knew Ares wouldn’t be happy, but I never expected him to lay hands on me. I am unsure now whether it is a good idea to be around him in the future.”
“It is never a good idea to be around him.” You just released a sigh.
“It’s a good thing I am not marrying him then.” You looked up at him and his eyes softened.
“It is a good thing for me.” This caused you to blush.
“I must ask you something.” He seemed a little nervous.
“What is it?” You were confused.
“Well, this whole arrangement is backwards.”
“What do you mean?”
“Men still go to each other to arrange a betrothal, but we are gods. Zeus did not ask anyone for permission to marry Hera, neither did Poseidon. And I doubt Hades will if he ever marries.”
“What are you saying?” You asked softly.
“I am saying, as the son of a queen, I should be able to ask my intended goddess to marry me.” Your mouth fell agape.
“Even shocked you are beautiful.” He said so softly you almost didn’t hear him. He then grabbed your hand and got down on one knee. “This is the way the humans have proposed, and I think it a nice idea.” You continued to stare at him, unsure what to say.
“We didn’t have a choice, really. We are asked but not in a way where there was a choice.” at this you frowned. “However, I know my choice, and this way we can do it properly, in a way that is our choice. To that end, will you marry Aphrodite? Knowing you have a choice.” His smile held fear behind it. You thought it was so sweet that he would be nervous, knowing your answer no matter the circumstances. He then pulled out the most ornate ring you had ever seen. It somehow combined volcanic ash, no doubt from his mountain, and yet was so dainty and elegant, everything you stood for. The rock in the middle was both diamond and swirls of fire. You could tell he had put a lot of thought and effort into this. It touched you deeply.
“Oh Hephaestus” You murmured. You just stared at it. The kindest gesture anyone had ever done.
“Will you give me an answer, Aphrodite?” He said kindly, reminding you that he even asked a question. You then looked into his eyes, the fire there matching your ring.
“Yes, of course I will!” You practically squealed. He chuckled. The most melodious sound, you thought. He put the ring on your finger and picked you up, twirling you around. You just clung to him.
“You have no idea how much that means to me, really. No one has ever been kinder.” You hoped your facial expression showed him just how much you meant it.
“You deserve every nice thing.” He stated meekly.
“And this ring! It is wonderful! How did you ever come up with the design? It must have taken you a long time to make, and you didn’t even have to!” You gushed. He blushed.
“I figured you should have something as beautiful as you. To show that we want this and are not being forced.” You melted, knowing he was listening to you that this was a fear of yours. “I thought it combined a little of both of us, beauty and fire.”
“You put a lot of thought into this. It means so much.” You told him.
“You deserve much more than that, but it is a start.” He shrugged. You cupped his cheeks.
“You are amazing. Too good for me.” He melted into your touch.
“It is the other way around, but I am glad you think so.”
“I am so thankful I ran into you that night.”
“Me too.” He confessed. And with that, he leaned down, wrapping you in his arms placing a soft kiss on your lips. For someone so hard, you were surprised how soft he was being with you. It made you feel something almost foreign knowing he chose to let his walls down for you. Now to be worthy of his vulnerability. For now you focused on the most amazing kiss two beings of any kind ever gave each other. And as the goddess of love, you knew this to be true.

Do any of you ever wonder if Camp Half-Blood accidentally brought in a demigod of a different pantheon before?
This would be especially hilarious if it happens sometime after The Last Olympian/Heroes of Olympus, where the gods are required to claim their kids quickly.
A whole day passes, and the new demigod needs to sleep in the Hermes Cabin and Percy is furious. Meanwhile, the Greek Gods are pointing at each other and shouting, contacting the most obscure of mini gods. Chaos erupts on Olympus as every deity in Greek Mythology is called upon and interrogated. Hermes hasn't run around so much in centuries.
Hecate sits in silence, fully aware of what's happening, but enjoying the show too much to intervene.

MY LOVE. luke (pjo)
( master list )
IN WHICH… the half-blood campers live in a world where everybody is granted a soulmate. Everybody but the favoured child of Aphrodite, who was always destined to live a life without true love.
“My love is mine, all mine. I love mine, mine, mine. Nothing in the world belongs to me.”
( inaccurate details )
Warnings : Slight angst, not proofread (grammar mistakes)
A/N : late Valentines special… oops
Tumblr media
Depending on what type of person you were, the concept of soulmates were either a blessing or a curse. To Y/N L/N, it was neither because she was never given a partner. The unseeable red string tied around her left ring finger never led to anybody else. Her skin never replicated the wounds of another person. Her world was always a scope covered in bright colours instead of depressing grey hues.
To others, her lack of a soulmate was great. She was free to love whomever she wanted without having to worry about a so-called soulmate. To her, it was hell. While it was true that she could like any person she chose, she would never be their first option. She was smart and beautiful and charming but their ideal pick would always be their soulmate.
It was sad, honestly. Especially when she knew boys would like her if soulmates didn’t exist.
Even when Y/N arrived at Camp Half-Blood, she was an exception. No soulmate meant no love life in other people’s eyes so it shocked everyone when Y/N was claimed by the very person who created the idea of fated partners. Aphrodite.
Y/N was awoken by loud giggles. She cracked an eye open, staring at her siblings across from her. “Why are you all up so early?” She almost groaned. It was seven in the morning and she knew her siblings always valued their beauty sleep. “Is Elvis Presley here or something?”
“No.” Silena grinned at Y/N, her cheeks flushing a pale pink colour, “Even better. A new boy just arrived last night and rumour has it that he’s cute. Cuter than Malcom.”
Malcom was an Ares kid. Ares and Aphrodite children always got along for some reason and because their parents had a complicated love relationship, so did they.
“Malcom isn’t that good-looking. What about Ben?” Y/N retorted, kicking her blankets off.
“I think Nigel is better.” Another sibling piped up, causing the whole cabin to burst into muffled laughter.
“That’s because you’re gay, Andrew!” They all exclaimed in unison, trying not to wake the other cabins.
Y/N leaned her head against her fluffed up pillow, gazing at Silena. “So, what’s this cutie’s name?”
“Luke.” Silena immediately answered, proud of herself for remembering the new camper’s name. “He came with Grover and a little girl.”
“Annabeth.” Andrew added. Y/N quietly hummed.
“Don’t be too loud.” She muttered, “I still want to sleep.”
As the commotion amongst her siblings died down, they too went back to bed. Y/N watched as Silena traced her soulmate tattoo before lying down, gently smiling. Y/N glanced at her own wrist, imagining her own mark inked onto her skin. What was it like knowing you were destined to love someone and they were destined to love you?
It must be reassuring.
Y/N didn’t remember when she drifted off, but she did and when she opened her eyes again, the sun was seeping through the light pink curtains.
Y/N lightly sighed as she sat up, running a hand through her perfect hair. That was a peek of having Aphrodite as her mother.
“Oh, you’re finally up. We thought you were sad. Too bad you aren’t.” Drew Tanaka was as cruel as ever. She was sitting at the vanity, applying a layer of pressed powder onto her face.
“Even if I did die, Drew, Silena would be the next cabin counsellor.” Y/N nonchalantly uttered as she stood up, stretching. Drew quietly scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“At least I have a soulmate.” She grumbled.
When Drew Tanaka hit hard, Y/N L/N always made sure to hit back harder.
“Yeah? Well, at least my ‘soulmate’ doesn’t hate me because of a rumour about me sleeping with his best friend. Which, by the way, was true.” Y/N quickly snapped back, leaving Drew speechless. Y/N was never one to act out but when someone asked for it, she delivered a killing blow.
Like any normal Aphrodite daughter, Y/N took her sweet time in doing her makeup. She could feel Drew’s glare on her as she swiped a red tint across her lips.
Y/N arrived at breakfast a little late, just in time to see the new kids stumble into the pavilion. Girls turned to whisper to each other, subtly pointing at the boy and blushing.
“That’s Luke and Annabeth, right?” Y/N questioned as she took a big gulp from her golden chalice. Silena quickly nodded, glancing at Luke.
“See, I told you he was cute.”
Y/N shrugged but Silena did have a point. Luke, with his perfect side profile, sharp jawline, and pretty curled hair, was a pleasant sight for sore eyes.
Y/N was caught off-guard when Luke sat down at the Hermes table and immediately lifted his head, his gaze settling on her without hesitation. Y/N quickly looked away, glancing at her wrist like she always did in hopes a tattoo would appear by some miracle.
Drew saw her moment of weakness and instantly commented on it. “Still no soulmate, Y/N?” Silena sent her half-sister a disapproving stare.
“Yeah. I’ll just fuck yours, I guess.”
Drew’s face sank for the second time. “Stay away from Sulan.” She hissed, glancing at the Demeter boy who wanted nothing to do with Drew.
Fate always drew people together so it was no surprise that everybody in Camp Half-Blood had their soulmates in the same place. There were multiple ways you could find your soulmate, depending on your mark.
Silena had her matching tattoo. Drew had that damned red string that only she could see. And Andrew could only sed the world in black and gray until his soulmate arrived, which they hadn’t yet.
Across the pavilion, Luke lightly nudged a teen named Chris. “Who’s that?” He asked, pointing at the H/C-hIred girl who was sitting with a group of unnaturally attractive kids.
Chris laughed for a short moment. “Y/N L/N. She will eat you alive, boy.”
“Has she found her soulmate yet?”
Demigods weren’t much better than their parents. They played around until they found their soulmate and that’s when they settled down. At least, for most. Some still had flings here and there, proving that they were just like the gods.
Luke’s question causes Chris to pause. He lightly chewed the inside of his mouth before stabbing his fork into a piece of bacon. “She doesn’t have a soulmate.” He murmured.
“How come?”
“We don’t know. She’s wondering the exact same question.” Chris shrugged before going back to his breakfast, “You can talk to her if you want but she’s a little mean so be careful of that.”
Luke quietly hummed, circling his finger around the rim of his cup.
The first time Luke talked to Y/N was when he and Annabeth were separated to go on different tours. Luke ended up with Y/N, who beamed at him and crinkled her eyes.
“Hi.” She effortlessly greeted him, waving.
“Sup.” Luke choked out, his voice accidentally going up a pitch higher. He cleared his throat. “I’m Luke.”
“So I’ve heard. Y/N.”
They walked side by side in a comfortable silence until Y/N spoke again. “Where’s your third person?” She questioned. “And I’m not talking about Grover.”
Chiron had tried to keep Thalia a secret but the gossip still managed to reach Y/N’s ears.
Slowly, Luke pointed at the tree that had mysteriously appeared this morning. It guarded the barrier between the camp and the mortal world.
“He turned her into a tree.” Luke grumbled, clearly displeased.
Y/N didn’t have to question who he was. Zeus, the king of the gods and ruler of the sky, had decided to turn his only daughter into a tree.
“Yes. The gods have always been a little… questionable. Shall we continue with the tour?” Y/N guided Luke forward. She did most of the talking while he listened, or at least tried to. It was hard when an absolutely stunning girl was standing in front of him.
“And last but not least, the strawberry field. Pretty, isn’t it?” Y/N smiled as she stared at the fresh strawberries. Luke let out a small ‘yeah’ but he was still staring at her. Y/N clapped her hands together, finally bringing Luke back to reality. “That marks the end of our tour. Any questions?”
Luke shook his head.
“Great. Oh, and if you’re worried about your soulmate, they’ll show up at some point. All the new kids freak out over it. If you’re a demigod, it’s almost guaranteed that so is your soulmate.” Y/N smiled again, making Luke’s knees weak.
Where was a matching tattoo when he needed one?
“So, uh… your soulmate… what are they like?” Luke knew he was most likely overstepping a boundary when he asked that. But Y/N, used to the shame and embarrassment of not having one, merely shrugged.
“I wouldn’t know. For some reason, my mother wants me to spend my life alone.” Y/N laughed but Luke could see the pain that flashed through her eyes. The same exact agony that Luke had been experiencing after all his peers found their soulmates expect him.
“If it makes you feel better, I don’t have one either.” Luke piped up. “I guess we can be lonely together.”
Y/N carefully gazed up at him. She felt a glimmer of hope spark inside her chest but she shoved it down. She refused to get her hopes up. “Everybody has one, Luke. You do too. Maybe my mom just wanted me to play the role of Cupid.”
Y/N walked off before Luke could say anything else. Annabeth instantly replaced her. “What did you say to make her leave?” For a young kid, she sure had a sharp tongue.
“Don’t even, Annabeth.” Luke’s cheeks heated up in embarrassment. He never had a problem with getting girls to like him because of his good looks, but they never stayed. And Annabeth took every chance she could to remind him of their awkward moments.
“What did you say, though? Did you mention your pet crocodile again?”
“First of all,” Luke retorted, “It was a spider. It was not a crocodile. And someone set him free! I really liked him too. And, I only asked her about her soulmate.”
“You’re an idiot.” Annabeth deadpanned, “Why would you ask that? Can’t you see that it’s a sore topic for her?”
“Not everybody is blessed with your wits, kid.” Luke playfully ruffled Annabeth’s hair while she huffed in frustration.
She quickly swatted his hands away. “What’s if she’s your soulmate?” Annabeth blurted out. “She doesn’t have a soulmate. You don’t have one. At least, you don’t have the common signs. What if that’s your soulmate bond?”
Luke chuckled. “I don’t think it works that way.”
“Maybe not… but either way, she’s still staring at you.”
Luke had never turned his head so fast. Y/N was perched on her cabin porch, leaning against the pretty wooden railing. And just as Annabeth had said, she was looking at him.
“Soulmate bond.” Annabeth repeated in that annoying singsong voice of hers.
Even as Luke walked back to the Hermes building, he couldn’t shake Annabeth’s words. Was Y/N really his soulmate? The person he had spent his entire life searching for?
Maybe. Standing next to her just felt so… right. He knew the moment he saw Y/N step out of her cabin that she’d have his unwavering attention.
Months passed by like seconds and years passed like days. Luke found himself becoming an expert at wielding a sword and not even Clarisse could disarm him. Y/N never bothered to try, always wanting to keep her appearance pristine under the hot sun.
“Do you ever get bored just lying around?” Luke questioned as he stood in front of Y/N. She was lying down under a large tree, enjoying the cool shade.
“No.” Y/N answered, closing her eyes. “I just don’t find it fun swinging around a sword in the hot sun.” The heat from the large star was unbearable during summer. Y/N hated the feeling of her clothes sticking to her skin so she was commonly found under trees during the hottest season.
“Why not try swinging around a sword at night? It’s cooler at that time.”
“I’m good.” Y/N truely was a daughter of Aphrodite, caring about her appearance above all else.
“I heard Silena found her soulmate.” Luke uttered as he sat down, keeping his distance in case Y/N didn’t appreciate his company. But she said nothing so he assumed it was fine.
“Yeah. At least he’s nice. I’d hate for her to have an annoying soulmate.” Y/N laughed yet that familiar look of envy and sadness flashed across her eyes. Y/N did well in concealing her facial expressions but her gaze never lied.
Luke and Y/N were seventeen now, almost eighteen. They had known each other for years and Luke had managed to notice some of Y/N’s subtle habits.
He also knew her opinion on soulmates. She craved for one and found the courage to despise her mother for her lack love. She prayed for one when offering a sacrifice. She dreamed of finding her other half and every time she woke up, she was disappointed that it wasn’t a reality.
Y/N knew there was more to life than relationships but why didn’t she have a soulmate? That was a query only Aphrodite herself could answer.
“Still no soulmate for you I suppose?” Y/N asked, glancing at Luke who shook his head.
“The main reason I was looking for you was because I had some sort of… theory.”
Y/N raised her eyebrows, suddenly curious. She gestured for Luke to continue.
“I don’t have a soulmate mark. You don’t have one either. What if, in a way, our lack of soulmate marks is our bond? If that makes sense.” Luke almost stumbled over his own words, suddenly feeling far too nervous.
“You think… I’m your soulmate?” Those words felt foreign as they slipped past Y/N’s lips. She was staring at Luke in slightly disbelief. “I don’t know, Luke. Maybe we just don’t have soulmates.” Y/N chuckled at the end of her sentence.
Luke’s breath nervously shuddered. “Okay… so if we don’t have soulmates then I can like anybody I want?”
“Technically, yeah.” Y/N aimlessly shrugged.
“Then I chose you.”
Y/N stared at him with her eyebrows furrowed. “What? Why me?”
“Because why not? I’m not taking pity on you, Y/N. I genuinely like you. As more than just a friend. The moment I saw you, I knew that if I had a soulmate, I would want it to be you. We can take it slow if you want. I don’t care as long as I’m with you.”
Y/N could only muster up a nod, still in shock.
She didn’t know what she was expecting to happen after her indirect acceptation to his confession but finding a small bouquet of roses on her bed was not what she had in mind.
“Oh, those are pretty. Who are those from?” Silena was at Y/N’s side in an instance, curious to see the flowers.
“Luke.” Y/N muttered as she flipped over the card, staring at the messy handwriting that was undeniably Luke’s.
“So my manifestation did work!” Silena exclaimed, happily clapping her hands together. “I’ve been shipping you guys since, like, forever! And I knew you wouldn’t make a move so I manifested Luke to.” Silena proudly beamed as she rocked back in forth on her heels, “I’m so happy for you two!”
Drew, on the other hand, was not.
“Cute pity bouquet, Y/N.” The ravenette said as she waltzed into the cabin.
“I will slap you with the thorns.” Y/N fired back.
At dinner, Y/N ended up sandwiched between Silena and Drew. For two girls who seemingly hated each other, Y/N and Drew sure spent a lot of time together.
“Here comes your lover boy.” Silena teased as she watched Luke guide a new camper towards the Hermes table. Y/N wasn’t sure if she should stare or look away but Luke was already locking eyes with her, smiling so widely that you’d think his deepest wish just came true.
“He’s not your soulmate.” Drew uttered.
“I know. We don’t all have to follow the rules of soulmates, do we? You should know that better than anyone else.”
Drew scoffed, angrily stabbing her fork into a piece of meat.
Y/N didn’t eat much. Her stomach felt too queasy whenever Luke so much as glanced at her. Was she nervous? Her leg was continuously bouncing up and down so she must be.
She left the pavilion early, expecting Luke to follow after her and feeling proud of her guess when he did. “Did you like the flowers?” He asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Of course.” Y/N answered.
“I really like you, Y/N. Please, just give me a chance. Who cares about soulmates? You may as well be mine.” Luke engulfed Y/N into a tight hug, his hands resting at her waist and refusing to let go.
“I don’t know, Luke.” She whispered. She had spent so much time alone in the dark that she forgot what love even felt like. Was it the butterflies in her stomach? Or perhaps the loud pounding of her heart? Or maybe her cheeks that were flushed a bright pink hue under the moonlight?
All her worries seemed to effortlessly melt away as Luke suddenly kissed her. He stepped back just as quickly but Y/N wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him towards her again.
She wasn’t sure what was happening but she could feel small beads of tears roll down her cheeks.
“Why are you crying, pretty?” Luke asked, furrowing his eyebrows in concern. Y/N swiftly wiped her tears away. As stupid and it sounded, that was her first kiss. And it was the first time someone showed a genuine interest in her, someone without a soulmate.
“If we do this, Luke… you have to promise not to leave me too quickly.” Y/N whispered so that only he could hear her voice.
“I don’t want my soulmate, if they even exist, Y/N. I want you.”
Those words echoed in Y/N’s head. I want you. Those three simple words set off fireworks in Y/N’s stomach. She felt her heart skip a beat.
She really shouldn’t have indulged in her own feelings when Luke might have a soulmate of his own but she couldn’t resist him when he was looking at her with those puppy dog eyes.
After that fated night, Luke rarely left Y/N’s side. He seemed to be attached at her hip and even when Clarisse laughed at him, he ignored her. Y/N was happy for a while.
It was the new girl that caused her fragile relationship with Luke to shatter into pieces. She really should have seen all this coming. She always noticed the bruises that lingered on Luke’s skin. Bruises that weren’t his but ones he simply brushed off as small injuries from all his hard training.
Y/N was the first to walk out of her cabin and, by default, that meant she would be showing the new camper around.
She had arrived early in the morning and while she was supposed to be resting in the infirmary, Y/N found her under the tree she usually sat at.
“You should be resting.” Y/N uttered. She could only see one side of the girl’s face but nevertheless, she was still pretty. Dyed blonde hair with heavy bangs framing her delicate and pale face and light grey eyes that nervously shifted from the ground to Y/N.
“They kept pestering me about my scar.” She mumbled, refusing to show Y/N her full face. “It’s my soulmate mark but they kept saying it wasn’t. Apparently… my soulmate has already found someone.”
She finally turned her head to reveal the scar. It was a jagged line, perfectly mimicking Luke’s. Y/N stiffened as the dread began to set in. She felt like she was going to collapse. Luke always preached about choosing Y/N over fate but would he do so now that his soulmate was here?
“Right.” Y/N choked out. “Well, let me show you around first.” It took all her energy to hide her true feelings. She didn’t want this girl to know that she was slowly but surely cracking under the pressure.
“I’m Lila, by the way.” The blonde muttered, fidgeting with her fingers.
“Y/N.”
As usual, she saved the strawberry fields for last. Lila seemed impressed by the big, red berries that the Demeter kids had grown. “One last stop.” Y/N said as she led Lila to a certain cabin. She knew she would come to regret this but the matching scars weren’t exactly subtle.
Y/N knocked on the door and just as she hoped, yet dreaded, Luke answered. “Hey.” He grinned widely at her as he leaned against the door frame.
“Someone’s here for you.” Y/N stepped aside to reveal Lila. Luke paused before he chuckled.
“This is a joke, right? Y/N?”
But she was already walking, more like jogging, away.
Y/N watched from afar as Luke conversed with the girl who had the identical scar to his. It trailed over the same eye too and it wouldn’t take a genius to realize what that meant. Luke had finally met his soulmate.
And Y/N was alone. Again.
The favourite child of Aphrodite. The golden star. The beautiful role model.
She was always destined to spend her life alone and perhaps she should have fully accepted that instead of falling in love with Luke, someone she couldn’t have no matter how hard she tried.
She ended up skipping breakfast and merely sitting in front of the vanity mirror, soullessly staring at her reflection. She wanted nothing more than for an ugly scar to taint her pretty face just so she could claim Luke as her soulmate.
She traced a faint line over her eye with light brown eyebrow and imagined that it matched with Luke’s. That, in another life, she could finally call someone hers.
The cabin door opened. Y/N didn’t have enough time to wipe the eyeshadow scar off before Drew walked in. The black-haired girl made an immediate beeline for her half-sister. Y/N thought Drew was going to taunt her as usual but she was shocked when the cruel girl hugged her instead.
“Soulmate or not,” Drew whispered, “He should choose you.”

hi! loved your pjo first they're amazing. I was wondering if I can request a headcannon of percy x son of aphrodite male reader? probably about how percy wants to ask them out and then them dating. thank you!
Fountain of Love (Percy Jackson x Son of Aphrodite)
Thanks for the request :) It's a little short, but I hope you enjoy it!
tags: nervous Percy, asking out, dating, son of Aphrodite is not only a pretty face but good with a sword, oblivious reader, puppy love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the first moment Percy stepped foot into Camp Half-Blood, he knew your name—M/N, son of Aphrodite. You were somewhat of a legend at camp, not just for being devastatingly handsome, but also for your skill with a sword.
But you were oblivious as fuck. Even more so than Percy himself, which said a lot. No matter how many heads you turned as you passed by, or how many gifts appeared outside your cabin, you remained unaware of the effect you had on others. For you, the attention never seemed more than friendly admiration, nothing deeper.
Percy, however, was different. From the moment he first spent time with you, sitting by the lake, talking about sword techniques, and exchanging stories of battle until the dinner horn blew, he knew one thing—you were the one. It wasn’t just about how incredible you looked, it was how easy it felt to be around you, the way your smile softened his nerves.
But Percy wasn’t alone in his feelings. Dozens of campers—some Apollo kids, others from various cabins—were also vying for your attention, and Percy knew he wasn’t the only one wanting to ask you out.
Over time, he noticed the competition intensify. A couple of campers, Ares kids, constantly tried to one-up him during sword training, cracking jokes about him in your presence, trying to win your favor. Even the children of Hermes, known for their mischievous pranks, tried to outshine Percy in their own crafty ways. It was like everyone was fighting for their chance to stand out, hoping to catch your eye.
Percy fought through the jealousy and frustration, determined to find the perfect moment to finally ask you out. But every time he gathered his courage, something interrupted him—a monster drill, a sparring match, or another camper cutting him off.
One day, as Percy finally approached you by the campfire, an Ares kid—who clearly had the same idea—stepped in and asked you if you wanted to hang out. Percy clenched his jaw, stepping back in defeat, watching the moment slip away again.
Little did he know, you liked him back. You always had. His easy smile, his sense of humor, the way he seemed so sincere around you—it all made you fall for him in ways you hadn’t expected. But since Percy hadn’t made a move, you assumed maybe he wasn’t interested.
Days passed, and finally, Percy couldn’t take it anymore. He couldn’t wait for the perfect moment because every moment with you was already perfect. So, after a long training session, where the two of you fought side by side during a particularly difficult capture-the-flag game, Percy found the nerve.
The two of you were covered in dirt and sweat, but it didn’t matter. As you both sat by the lake, cooling off, Percy finally turned to you and blurted it out, “I like you. A lot. And, um, would you maybe want to go out with me? Like, officially?”
You blinked, a bit stunned by his sudden confession, but then you laughed, a soft sound that sent Percy’s heart racing. “I like you too, Percy. I’ve been waiting for you to ask.”
His eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, he was speechless. You? Liked him back? He couldn’t believe it.
From that day forward, the two of you were inseparable, and when you became boyfriends, everyone in camp knew it. Percy’s friends teased him relentlessly, but nothing would wipe the dopey grin off his face whenver your name was mentioned.
You and Percy balanced each other perfectly—his brave heart and your calm confidence were an unbeatable pair.
But dating at Camp Half-Blood wasn’t without its challenges. There were moments when Percy’s duties as a hero pulled him away, leaving you to worry. You’d send messages through Iris, waiting anxiously for his return, and there were times when he came back battered from battles that left your heart aching. The other demigods, those who had once vied for your attention, sometimes stirred up trouble out of jealousy, testing the strength of your relationship with snide remarks and rumors.
Still, the two of you always found ways to push through. When Percy felt the weight of the world on his shoulders, you were there to remind him he didn’t have to carry it alone. You comforted him when nightmares from the Titan War resurfaced, holding his hand and promising that, together, you could face anything.
And when your own insecurities came up—doubts about whether Percy could love someone like you, despite the constant attention you received—he reassured you that you were more than enough.
“I chose you,” Percy would say, with that earnest smile that made everything feel okay. “And I’d choose you over and over again.”
No matter what challenges arose—whether it was monsters, the gods’ interference, or the complications of being demigods—the bond you shared only grew stronger. And eventually, when the Great War ended, Percy would drop on one knee and ask you to marry him :)

heyy so can you do a clarisse x reader fic where they have like rivalry?
major h8r
Tumblr media
pairing: clarisse la rue x reader
warnings: clarisse, mentions of bullying, some low-grade tajin level spice
word count: 890+
"next time you won't be so lucky."
"Dude, you can't keep letting her pick on you like that," preaches Luke as the two of you sit on a rock. What happened, you may ask? You decided it would be a good idea to give into Clarisse after she relentlessly harassed begged you. Rather than actually focusing on technique during your spar, she took the opportunity to beat the Hades out of you. “She’s a bully.”
White bandages slip out of your grasp as you feebly attempt to wrap your wound. While ambrosia and nectar would've done the job, you're wary with consumption as to not burn to a crisp. Luke takes your hand, doing it for you. Contempt swirls in his oak-hued eyes, he knows you're better than this.
"I shouldn't have believed her when she said she wanted to improve her technique. I let my guard down," you mutter. Annabeth tuts, turning to face the entrance of the woods. “She may be a little… rough around the edges, but she’s not a bad person.”
"You'd think that someone like you would notice that she is," she states, blunt as ever.
"Helpful input, Annabeth.”
"It's the truth." The girl shrugs, fresh braids (courtesy of you) draped down her back.
"Thanks for the help, guys," you say, clapping an injured hand over Luke's shoulder. "But I have to get going. Camp won't run itself."
"But it literally will--"
You're already out of range by the time either of them can make any sort of protest. As you walk through the dirt paths, surveying the behaviors of the campers that are out and about, a familiar stomping sound approaches. Great. Clarisse.
Before you can turn to face her, an angry fist hits you over the head.
"You idiot! Why didn't you tell me you fight like a toddler? I would've gone easy," she jabs your side rather hard, forcing you to fold in on yourself. "Can't have Chiron's favorite in the infirmary. It'd be a shame if you shriveled up and died from an ambrosia overdose." You simply brush her off, having much more important things to do. “C’mon, dude, you suck at swordfighting!”
“Why are you talking to me?”
The question seems to catch her off guard. Her playful stance shifts to one fueled by anger at your comment.
“Cuz who else here is stupid as you?” The girl scoffs, built arms crossed over her overly toned chest. This isn’t even fair.
“Goodbye, Clarisse,” You roll your eyes, hiking up the stairs of the Big House, shutting it behind you.
Darkness creeps into the corner of your visions as you lay in your bunk, eyes trained on the ceiling. The snores of your siblings fill the room, coupled with the shuffling of blankets. Just as you near dreamland, a loud thunk on your window jolts you awake. You grab the weapon under your pillow, startled. You groan, seeing the culprit. Clarisse stands at your window, eyes shifting around.
Reluctantly, you let her tumble into the cabin, forcing her to silence.
“Shh, you’re gonna wake them up.” She simply laughs, kicking her shoes off, and dropping into your bed. “To what do I owe this pleasure?” Your voice is nothing more than a whisper, quiet as a breeze.
“Missed ya’.” The daughter of Ares snickers, grabbing your tired form and dragging you down with her.
“You can’t keep breaking into my cabin,” you insist, but she doesn’t listen. The two of you lay side by side, simply enjoying eachother’s company. “You’re like… too calm.” Clarisse snorts, curls draped over your blankets
“Shut up. Next time you won’t be so lucky. I’m exhausted from beating your ass all day.” She grabs you by the collar, planting an uncharacteristically gentle kiss on your cheek. Heat blooms in your face, creeping up your neck and touching your ears.
“Oh. Wow.”
She moves quick, tackling you in a kiss—this time on the lips. A hint of cherry chapstick touches your tastebuds as your situationship pulls away. It’s a fleeting feeling, her lips on yours, and you simply can’t get enough. She chuckles upon seeing the look on your face.
“I hate your stupid face.” Clarisse’s sudden words are laced with laughter, her fingertips gently brushing over the dip of your nose and the apples of your reddened cheeks.
Her pretty dark eyes stare into yours, thumbing over a bruise she left from sparring.
“Doesn’t seem it.”
The brutish girl props herself on her elbow, staring down at you with her gorgeous eyes, darkest browns dotted with celestial bronze, swirled with imperial gold in the low light.
She tucks a loose tuft of hair behind your ear, leaving down again to deliver another gentle kiss. “Mmh,” she hums, warm tongue prodding for entry. Warm summer air blows in, the window left agape. The scent of the strawberry fields and the last embers of the latest fire mix to form a pleasant smell, bathing the cabin.
Clarisse’s calloused hand cups your jaw, her tongue slipping into your mouth. The air between you only gets thicker, forcing the duo up for a quick breath.
“Thought you didn’t like the French,” you jest, deciding this is the time to poke fun—since you won’t end up with a goose egg. She shoves you around for a bit.
“Shut up. Stupid teacher’s pet.” She captures you in another kiss, fingers intertwined like the stars and the sky.

i got pretty distracted, so this is less of a rivalry and more of a secret relationship 😔

I have a headcanon that when a year passes at Camp Half Blood, Luke and Annabeth walk together and hang a bead on Thalia’s tree similar to how they put a bead on their necklaces

I know in the ares x moral reader headcanons that he wasn’t allowed to see his wife and daughter anymore. But I feel like it wouldn’t stop him from secretly sending gifts to his wife without anyone knowing. For example on his wife birthday he send her a bouquet of baby breath flowers which in the flower language means everlasting love and is often used for wedding. Meaning he’ll never stop loving her. Yeah Ares got it bad.

remember that one time in greek heroes where percy refused to describe one of the heroes because "I WONT😤 i dont pay attention to guys!! IMAGINE HIM YOURSELF" like that was wild. I'm fully convinced it was either a) rick trying to shove tragically straight percy down our throats or b) percy being in major denial because what even was that

"Defeat"
[Heroes of Olympus/Odyssey(and techically EPIC) crossover]
Masterlist
Goofy blurb inspired by this post cause yes
Warnings: Not proofread, nothing else I believe
Word count: 830 words
Odysseus is ready to strangle the Olympians—one by one—for forcing him into this volleyball match. And then the teenagers who are absolutely destroying his crew.
Eurylochus crashes to the ground, the ball bouncing off his head and landing on the court.
The other side erupts in cheers. If Odysseus hears them shout in joy one more time, he might just summon a storm with his anger.
"I think I may have broken a bone," Eurylochus groans, while Polites helps him up.
"Eurylochus, do not—" Odysseus begins, fully prepared to curse out his brother-in-law.
"We will beat them, don't worry," Polites interrupts brightly.
The scoreboard blares 12 to 0.
Perimedes points it out. Elpenor quickly shuts him up.
He glared at the kids across from them. They had been introduced to each other, so he knew all their names and their parents. The first one, and the one who had gotten the most points, was Percy Jackson, a child of Poseidon. He wondered what the sea god would do if he poked Jackson's eye out.
He debates whether it was worth it.
He decides it is. As soon as he got his hand on something sharp-
The others included, Annabeth Chase, was a child of Athena, which strangely stung.
A child of Zeus, Jason Grace. Eurylochus had declared if he hit the blonde kid in the face with the ball, it would be a victory for him.
Leo Valdez, a son of Hephaestus, who clearly was not taking the game seriously. He got distracted by everything and could not stay still for 10 seconds.
Frank Zhang, a child of Mars, who was Roman version of Ares. Odysseus groaned when he was told that there were a different versions of the Greek Gods who weren't very different at all.
And Piper Mclean, a child of Aphrodite. He didn't know how to feel about her.
There a child of Pluto, the roman version of Hades, watching from the sidelines named Hazel Levesque.
He’s a hero, a legend remembered by history, and these children are laughing at him!
Annabeth calls. “You might want to work on your serve. It’s kinda… underwhelming.”
“Underwhelming?” Odysseus snaps, grabbing the ball. He winds up and serves with all the force of a furious storm.
The ball flies sideways and misses the net entirely.
Jason bursts out laughing. “Nice shot! Want me to get it for you?”
Piper chimes in with dripping sarcasm, “Yeah, we can take it easy while you go on a quest for the ball.”
"Perimedes, go get it," Odysseus grumbles.
"Why me?" Perimedes whines.
Odysseus glares daggers at him. Perimedes stumbles to retrieve the ball.
Odysseus growls and tries again. His serve barely clears the net and is intercepted by Frank Zhang, who spikes it so hard it almost knocks Odysseus over.
“You know what’s the worst part?” Odysseus mutters. “They’re enjoying this.”
Annabeth catches his eye, smirking. “We do have a tendency to be good at things like this,” she calls out.
“Yeah, well, so do I!” Odysseus snaps back. “I could sink your whole ship with a single command!”
Leo Valdez, inspecting the ball like a piece of machinery, barely looks up. “Cool story, bro. But this isn’t the Odyssey. It’s volleyball. And we’re winning.”
"You haven’t done anything!" Odysseus retorts.
"Well, neither have you." Leo motions at the scoreboard, barely glancing up.
“You know, we’re having fun. I think that’s what counts," Jason says.
Odysseus turns to his team, who look equally dejected. “Alright, let’s try a new tactic,” he says, trying to salvage some dignity. “We’re going for a strategic play!”
Eurylochus mumbles, “You mean, like hiding the ball in the bushes?”
“No!” Odysseus snaps. “We’ll use the element of surprise.”
Perimedes, finally back with the ball, looks at him skeptically. “What’s the plan?”
Odysseus whispers dramatically, “We’ll fake a serve and then—”
Before he can finish, Leo Valdez, who’s just fixed his shoelace, tosses the ball back into play. The ball sails over the net, and instead of following his own plan, Odysseus dives for it, accidentally bumping it into his own face. The ball ricochets back over the net.
Percy spikes it with ease, and it lands with a decisive thud on Odysseus’s side. The scoreboard updates: 19 to 0.
The final whistle blows. Odysseus stares at the ground, his pride in tatters.
Percy Jackson and his team erupted into cheers and high-fives, their victory sweet and complete. Percy, with a grin as wide as the Mississippi, calls out, “Great game, guys! You definitely kept us on our toes!”
Annabeth, grinning, adds, “And hey, it was good practice for us, too. We’ll be ready for anything now!”
The child of Mars chuckles. “You should’ve seen it, Odysseus. You almost made us break a sweat.”
Odysseus grumbled, “I’d rather face the Cyclops than play another round of this.”
"I wouldn't…" Polites mumbles.
As his team trudges off the court, Eurylochus, still grumbling about his 'broken bone', picks up the ball. In a fit of frustration, he hurls it toward the demigod team.
The ball smacks Jason Grace in the face. He stumbles and falls backwards, landing on his behind.
"AHA!" Eurylochus yells in victory, throwing his arms up, then winces.
Odysseus, struggling to hide a grin, says, “Well, at least we hit something.”
The crew quickly gathers their things and moves away, leaving behind the stunned demigods.

drop the link on that fic of Zeus being a good dad?
Absolutely my friend!
As you can see, it's called Trials of Fatherhood by the lovely @z-eusie and in-between my agonies and right now, she's actually updated the fic and now the Apollo chapter is live!! Everyone should go read this fic, actually! It's a wonderful little compilation of moments that allow for showing both the ugliness and beauty of the gods when taken from a nuanced, compassionate perspective and it's always been one of my favourites to go back to every now and then just because of how fond I am of it. I'm especially fond of the Athena and Dionysus chapters myself but I hope everyone finds their favourite one. <33

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and you were forced back into the party.  Though you had tried to stay near each other it hardly worked out that way with everyone trying to talk to you and him obsessed with the gossip.  You wanted to roll your eyes and walk away but knew it wasn’t an option.  Luckily at some point Athena had saved you but only for so long.  Zeus had made an announcement that the wedding would take place soon.  However, soon for gods can mean human years, after all, they were not bound by time.
“Congratulations”  You smiled, turning around to the familiar voice.
“Thank you Artemis.”  She lifted her glass to you and downed the rest of the contents.
“I am just glad it’s you and not me!”  You both laughed, knowing Zeus would never force her into a marriage and she would be the only one able to get away with telling him no.
“I don’t know, I definitely see a marriage in your future!”  She snorted in disgust.
“That’s what father said which is why I did my best to take the vow of eternal maidenhood.  I much prefer running with my ladies hunting than even being here at a party much less stuck in a marriage.  No offense”  She gave you a wry smile.  You just chuckled.
“No offense taken.  We are very different in that.  I am excited to be married, but running around free sounds nice too.”
“I know it does, but it sounds like you liked the idea when Ares was your suitor.”  She stuck her tongue out in fake disgust and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“I am very lucky that Hera intervened.  If she hadn’t, I might have taken off with you!”
“That would have been fun except I know you and you would soon hate it.”  You wrinkled your nose, knowing it to be the truth.
“The floor has no appeal for sleeping on, I'm afraid.”  She merely smirked.
“You are lucky our queen favors you.” She frowned a little at that.  It was obvious the two didn’t get along and you didn’t feel the need to expand on that part.
“She was the one who suggested Hephaestus.”  You offered.  Hardly anyone knew the details but you didn’t see the harm in telling her.  If anyone got upset Zues had backed up the idea and that would be the end of the dispute.
“Is that so?”  She seemed shocked then amused.  “I didn’t know that she even talked to her son..”
“She thought it would be a good match.”  There was no reason to say every detail.
“And she was right.”  Artemis smirked.
“Yes.”  You couldn’t help but smile and blush.
“I just hope you remain happy.  I know that I would never be happy with marriage but it all seems so fast.  I know who you are and I mean no offense but I don’t want you to jump into something then hate it.  After all, eternity is a long time.”  She looked at you knowingly.  You paused to look at her.  You knew it was being rushed but you were happy.  Weren’t you?
“Thank you Artemis. I appreciate your concern.”  And you meant it.  You knew she didn’t mean anything bad, but it was rushed and it looked like it.   She nodded and walked away, most likely to find her twin.
This left you to think by yourself.  You had feelings for Hephaestus that was certain.  Was it love?  You weren’t sure yet.  Could it grow to love?  You were confident it could.  But does that mean that it would last?  He was the only one who understood you but your worst fears were coming to the surface.  Would he get bored of you?  Would you always have love and attention?  Or would you be forced to live a loveless life like Hera?  You couldn’t be sure, this was all happening so fast….

can you please do poseidon/reader and she finds out luke is the lightning thief?
THE GRUDGE. luke (pjo)
( master list )
IN WHICH… Y/N L/N can’t forgive Luke for his crimes despite loving him more than she loves herself.
“I know in my heart hurt people, hurt people. And we both drew blood, but, man, those cuts were never equal.”
Warnings : spoilers, small angst (in my opinion lol. I’m more sensitive to family/friendship angst, not relationship angst), short(ish) oneshot
A/N : to any other writers, do you ever act out the situations you’re writing so you can write a better descriptions of reactions and then you realise that you’re actually a good actor?
Because I literally just acted out Y/N’s reaction and either I’m great at fake crying (which has been a talent of mine) … or my heart-wrenching sobs were real 😨. Also, the song one of us from the Lion King suits Luke perfectly.
Tumblr media
The life of a half-blood wasn’t easy, especially not when you were a forbidden child. Y/N flipped through her fashion magazine, aimlessly swinging her legs as she lay on her front. “Y/N.” Luke called out, pushing the creaky door open. She lifted her head, staring at him curiously.
“Hey, Luke.” She smiled at him, clasping her hands together. He grinned back, slowly walking over to her side.
“You feeling okay?” He asked, placing a heavy hand on her shoulder. With Percy, her half-brother gone, she was alone in her cabin. Again.
Y/N gazed at him through her lashes. “Yeah. I’m good. I’m fine.” She whispered, reaching out to grasp his wrist. Luke bit the inside of his cheek.
“I have your phone.” Luke uttered, handing Y/N her device. Phones weren’t allowed in camp but Luke found a way around that, much to Y/N’s happiness. She had spent far too long in the mortal world to give up scrolling through social media.
“Thanks, love.” Her pink-tinted lips curved into a soft smile. “You have no idea how much I need this now that Percy is gone on his quest. It’s so lonely here.”
Y/N always hated being in her own company. Her cabin got messy and she never had the motivation to clean it. She was thankful for Luke because he always helped her with the mundane task that should have been easy, but not for her.
“No problem, princess.” Luke lightly kissed her forehead while she laughed. “I can’t wait until Percy is back because I have a feeling that things are about to change.” Nothing good lasts for long. Y/N, more than anyone, knew that. She stalked through the thick vegetation, harbouring a heavy sword. She had heard rumours of Luke… and she needed to confirm it for herself, even if it meant endangering her safety.
“Luke.” She called out, her voice shaking. She didn’t want to believe the rumours but Luke was unpredictable. Ever since returning from his quest, he hadn’t been the same.
Y/N had been at Camp Half-Blood for longer than most and she had seen demigods come and go, desperately searching for glory but never finding enough of it.
“Luke.” She said again, repeating it like it was a mantra that would save him from the terrible fate he had chosen. She dragged her sword against the ground, her eyes scanning for the slightest bit of movement amongst the trees.
She sighed, thinking of returning to camp before she spotted a flicker of orange. "Luke?" She whispered, but he still heard her. She stepped towards him, breathing heavily.
"Luke... what... is it true? Did you..." Y/N couldn't find the right words. "What did you do, Luke?" She asked, grabbing him by the front of his shirt when she noticed how he avoided her gaze and how his eyes looked so guilty. "What did you do?!"
"I did what I had to, Y/N. The gods... they don't care about us." Luke stiffened as Y/N glowered at him, her eyes filled with so much rage and hate and sadness and everything in between.
"You're wrong, Luke!" She exclaimed, harshly shaking him.
"I'm not like you, Y/N! My father doesn't care about me. Yours might give a shit about you but that doesn't apply to anyone! Look around you. Poseidon ignored Percy for years while nurturing you. My father abandoned my mother and I when he could have helped us. Ares hates Clarisse for being a girl and forces her to train harder until she collapses. They try so hard to find every little flaw in us that they ignore what we've done for them."
"But why this, Luke? Why betray us? Me! You betrayed me, Luke! And all your friends and family! Hermes may not give a shit about you, but I do! I have loved you since we first met, Luke! I fucking love you and you betrayed me!" Y/N slammed her fists against his chest, screaming until tears welled up in her eyes. "What did you do to Percy?" She muttered, her voice barely even a whisper. "Tell me. Tell me now and I might spare you! Please… please.” She hiccuped, her hits growing weaker.
Luke wheezed as Y/N gripped his throat for a split second. "He'll be fine... he only got stung."
"I hate you." Y/N seethed, rage engulfing her soft heart until it spilled out and poisoned her body with its toxins. "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you! Gods, I hate you, Luke! Fuck you! Fuck… you!” She screamed, the sound echoing around the empty trees.
But she still couldn't bring herself to stab him. "Get out of here, Luke. Go! Leave! I never want to see your face again!" Y/N's voice shook as she shoved Luke away from her.
Heart-wrenching sobs slipped past her lips as she pointed an accusing finger at Luke. "The gods have fucked up, Luke, but you are no different. Maybe you had the right idea at first... but you went with it the wrong way. And it cost you everything. Don't go near Percy again. Don’t you dare touch him ever again! You don’t deserve his kindness! Don't even look at him because I promise you, if you do, I will drive a stake through your heart!” Y/N's confident voice faltered for a moment. She shakily inhaled. "I hope you're happy with yourself." That fated day still haunted Y/N's mind. She often had nightmares about it, where things turned out different had she stabbed Luke. She always woke up with a loud gasp, covered in a light layer of sweat.
On her nightside table, her phone rang. She hadn't been using it much since Luke left. She slowly reached for it. Nobody had her phone number except her close friend, who lived in Tokyo, her cousin, and... Luke.
Her heart was beating unusually fast as she shakily turned the device over to peer at the screen. Her stomach churned and she dropped her phone in horror. Percy was in the infirmary, still recovering from the pit scorpion attack. She was somewhat thankful for that.
She let the phone ring, letting out a sigh of relief when it finally stopped. But it started again, and again. Until on the third ring, she finally clicked the green button.
She didn't say anything, flinching at the sound of Luke's voice. "Y/N? Y/N. Thank goodness you picked up! I knew you weren't going to answer my iris message so I was hoping your phone was working."
Y/N cut Luke off from his ranting. "Luke... don't call me again."
"Wait, Y/N. Please listen to me. I love"-
She hung up before he could finish. She stared at her phone, gripping it tightly. With a guttural scream, she threw it across the room. It landed safely on Percy's bed and a part of her was glad that it did. It was one of the only things she had left from Luke.
She didn't know if she could ever forgive Luke for betraying her trust. And the worst thing was that she still loved him from the bottom of her heart. "You good?" Y/N quietly walked towards Percy, helping him sit up. He groaned.
"Yeah. I'm sorry about Luke... I know how much he meant to you." Percy's eyes softened as he stared at Y/N, intertwining his fingers with hers.
"He, uh... tried calling me last night." Y/N pressed her lips into a thin line.
Percy tilted his head to the side. "So what'd you do?"
"I ignored him until the third time... then I hung up after I told him to stop contacting me."
"You don't have to be so tough all the time, Y/N." Percy uttered, pulling her into a tight hug. His arms wrapped around her waste and she sighed.
"I really want to scream, Percy. I just... can't believe he could do that so easily. I mean, leave us... leave me. I'm trying not to care and I'm trying to say I'm fine but I can't let it go." Tears welled up again, dripping down the red apples of her cheeks.
Y/N would be lying if she said she hadn’t tried to figure out why Luke did what he did. She tried to piece everything together but it only hurt her head and heart to think.
After ensuring Percy was comfortable, she stepped outside. The camp was in utter chaos after Luke’s betrayal and they were trying to find more spies amongst them. Most people suspected Y/N because she ran into the woods to confront Luke and she was closely associated with him, which didn’t help. But she loved her friends and she could never leave them as Luke had.
She wandered into a small clearing, dipping her hand into a cold river nearby to calm herself. She didn’t even notice someone was watching her from behind until they cleared their throat.
With a panicked gasp, Y/N looked over her shoulder. She was expecting a fellow camper, maybe even Luke, but not Hermes in all his glory. The pair stared at each other for a minute before Hermes finally broke the awkward silence.
“You’re Y/N, right?” He hesitatingly pointed at her, worried he had the wrong girl.
She nodded.
“I know I’m probably the last person you want to see after Luke left.” Hermes started off, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck.
“Luke is the last person I want to see.” Y/N retorted, “You’re second on that list.”
“He really did like you, you know."
“It wasn’t enough apparently.” Y/N shrugged, already accepting that she could tear Luke from his fate, “Maybe I deserved the betrayal… but not from Luke. He practically made me into the person I am. I guess he wanted to see how high he could build me before I fell. He had everything yet he still wanted more.”
“He cared about you. Dare I say, Y/N, he love”-
She cut him off just as she had cut Luke off. “Don’t say he loved me because if he did then he wouldn’t have done this! He… he wouldn’t have done all this!” Y/N choked on her words as she bit back a sob.
“He still loves you. Not loved. Not past-tense. Never past-tense. I’ve seen him, you know. He misses you and for a while, he tried to contact you in every way he could just so he could hear your voice. Even if you were screaming at him. I know that in another life, he wishes he didn’t have to leave you behind.”
“There shouldn’t be another life!” Y/N exclaimed. Getting angry at a god was dangerous but she was so frustrated and angry and hurt. Hermes didn’t seem to mind. He nodded his head, understanding her emotions. “Don’t you get it? You also have to take the blame. You’re part of the reason why he betrayed us!”
“He’ll forgive me eventually.”
Y/N shook her head. “No. You and every other deity thinks that your neglected child will forgive you but they might not. They might forgive but they will never forget. If I can’t even forgive the boy I love with all my heart, how do you think Luke will ever forgive you?” She furrowed her eyebrows.
“Forgiveness takes strength." Hermes whispered, barely loud enough for Y/N to hear. "Luke is much stronger than I originally thought and you, the mighty daughter of the sea god himself, are too.”
“Yeah, well,” Y/N shrugged as she stood up, brushing the dirty off her pants. “I don’t think I’m quite there yet.”
“It takes time.” Hermes said, “Meanwhile, I would suggest answering that.” He pointed at her phone that was ringing in her hand. Y/N didn’t even notice with how distracted she was.
She briefly looked down at the screen and raised her head again, her lips parting when Hermes was nowhere to be seen.
She hesitatingly pressed the accept button and raised her phone to her ear. She heard him quietly gasp, surprised she even answered again. “Luke… hi.”

Dudes, what if the unclaimed minor gods created a secret mafia society?
Let me explain.
They were unclaimed. They didn't have any satyrs. They were left unprotected. But there were a lot of them, what if they found each other, saved each other, and became each other's family. So they created an underground society and network that protects each other and other unclaimed minor demigod children with no protectors and are vulnerable against the monsters of their world.
Training each other and not getting involved with the gods or camp half-blood and their problems.
That was until everything changed for them.
Do with this as you will

you're holding the heart of mine
Poseidon knew.
He knew that one day, Sally would move on.
That he would leave her, and she would cry over it, but then someone new would sweep her off her feet, and she would be happy.
But as he looked at her, her bright blue eyes, her big smile, he found he didn’t want that to happen.
So he let himself succumb to temptation, and did not pull away.
~*~
That was a mistake.
A child came from the union, and when Sally tells him she is pregnant, he panics.
This was not supposed to happen.
When he tells her, she is furious. “What do you mean, this was not supposed to happen?” She demands. “I tell you we will have a child, and this is your reaction?”
“Sally,” He says pleadingly, “You must understand, I am a god!”
“I know!” She said sharply, “But what does this have to do with our child?”
He lowered his voice. “My brother has forbidden us from having children. Do you know what lengths he will go to rid any Forbidden Child that poses a threat to Olympus?”
She pales, but places one hand firmly on her stomach. “I cannot let him go, Poseidon.” She says, scared but determined.
“It will be hard,” He warns her, “You will have to face much suffering.”
“I will do anything for my baby.” She raises her head high, and Poseidon knew there would be nothing he could do to sway her.
Poseidon drew in a breath. “Very well.”
~*~
Their child is born, and Poseidon cannot help but visit him.
He approaches her bed, and she smiles weakly at him.
He stares at the little boy, his black hair so much like his own.
“What is his name?” He asks.
“Perseus. Perseus Jackson.”
He tilts his head. “But that is the name of my brother’s son.”
She shakes her head. “I did not name him for his heritage. I named him Perseus for a happy ending to my son’s tale.”
Oh. Poseidon’s smile became a little forced. He didn’t have the heart to tell Sally that happy endings did not come often. Even Heracles did not receive rest even after he was bestowed godhood. He stroked the babe’s head. “He will be a great hero,” He said instead.
Sally smiles. “I know.”
~*~
The next time he visits, their is another man’s ring on her finger.
He does not let the jealousy loose, he does not tear the house down with waves to remove the competition. Instead, he asks, “Who?”
Sally sighs. It was not a lovesick sigh, thank the gods. “His name is Gabe Ugliano.”
That man is not worthy of you, Poseidon thinks. But then again, he would never think any mortal would be worthy of Sally Jackson, queen among women.
“Why?” He asks her.
She twists the ring on her finger. Poseidon desperately wanted to take it off and throw it away. “H-his scent,” She says carefully, “It will mask Percy.”
A brilliant idea, but… “Is he a good man? Does he treat you well?”
She inhales, and Poseidon knows the answer before she says it. “No. The answer is no.”
Poseidon grimaces, the rage bubbling up inside him, begging to be freed. Sally takes his hand. “It’s the best option to protect him,” She says.
Poseidon swallows and nods. “Of course.”
~*~
The man is gone at last, killed by Medusa’s head. Poseidon made sure Hades knew that Gabe deserved the worst of punishments.
He came to visit, one final time.
Sally opens the door, surprised.
“Poseidon?” She asks softly.
He clears his throat. “How– how are you? How is,” He waves his hand, “Everything?”
She smiles. “Good,” She says. “I have a daughter, now.”
There was a small sinking feeling in his stomach. “That’s– that’s wonderful.” He croaks. “What’s her name?”
“Estelle. Estelle Blofis.”
Poseidon looks at Sally. She’s no longer Jackson. She’s a Blofis, with a young, curious daughter, a brave, bold son, and a husband who will not leave her like he did.
A queen among women deserved a family like that.
She did not deserve having to settle for Poseidon.
“I’m happy for you,” He tells her, and he means it.
He leaves, for the final time.
