My enjoyment of writing, my productivity, and the quality of my work improved tenfold when I started embracing slumps and taking them as an opportunity to read everything I could get my hands on, watch lots of films and shows, go to the theatre, play games, hang out with friends, visit new places, and generally absorb life and marinate my brain in the art of storytelling.
Take from that what you will.

Sometimes people think that it cannot be done, because others haven't achieved it in the past, or because  it doesn't exist yet.  But I personally like to push boundaries.  I create my own style, in my writing, in the fitness of my mind and body, and in life in general.  This gives me great power and freedom.   Because life is entirely about breaking barriers.  Besides, isn't life about discovering yourself??  You cannot truly discover who you are, and what you can become, if you have mental limitations or fears that control the way you act, think and feel.  Be grateful for what you have, and for what you have lived, of course. But do not stop there.  Make sure you are always pushing yourself, learning more, opening your mind to more.  The greatest tool to develop is creativity, because this expands your mind--regarding empathy, self-awareness, an easy-going attitude, the capacity to see solutions and create new paths in your life.

NoSkipNovember
in light of the NaNoWriMo… trash fire, i decided i'd make my own event for myself. and if you want to participate, feel free! i know i'm making this post late as it's already november 1st here, but it happens AHAH. this is just a personal challenge i thought up yesterday evening, and it may help some other people!
Rules of NoSkipNovember
write every day of november, whether 1 word or 10,000.
that's it.
the point of NoSkipNovember is to build the habit of writing, even things that are small. it's to get you to sit down and, in whatever medium you write, to get in the habit of continuing to write.
what can you write?
anything! poetry, songs, outlines, plotting documents, books, short stories, as long as it's creative writing in some form, you are doing it right.
can i set a word goal?
yes!! if you want to set a daily word goal or the usual month goal, go for it! mine is the traditional 50k words, but you could set it for 500 or 500,000 or whatever you want. just be sure to take your time, and take breaks to stretch and move around.
does it have to be original fiction?
not at all, fanfiction is what i'm going to be focusing on, so if you wanna write that, you should!
i have another question
feel free to leave it in the replies or my inbox! i'm always happy to help. this is a very spur-of-the-moment, loose challenge, so feel free to make your own personal rules or stipulations. as long as you are having fun, getting some writing done, and feel accomplished, that's what matters.
that's it. have fun, hope you have a lovely NoSkipNovember!

one of the most important things terry pratchett has taught me is that it's okay to be angry. no one has ever said that to me before. he taught me that anger was an engine. that you can use that anger. that it goes hand in hand with love. he taught me to never underestimate my anger, because it's one of my strongest points. he taught me genuine anger was one of the world’s great creative forces. he taught me i shouldn't be fighting my anger, but what caused it. he himself said rage underlines everything he wrote. i never heard anger talked about so openly like that before and it's freeing, i suppose, to realize you are truly, truly not alone in your rage at the world. you never were.

Writing Prompt: The Last Lines
Choose one of the last lines of these literary works, and either create a new story/poem or continue writing the story...
“He was soon borne away by the waves, and lost in darkness and distance.” —Mary Shelley, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus (1818)
“After all, tomorrow is another day.” —Margaret Mitchell, Gone With the Wind (1936)
“She looked up and across the barn, and her lips came together and smiled mysteriously.” —John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath (1939)
“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” —F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby (1925)
“Are there any questions?” —Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale (1985)
“Yes,” I said. “Isn’t it pretty to think so?” —Ernest Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises (1926)
“She called in her soul to come and see.” —Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God (1937)
“There was the hum of bees, and the musky odor of pinks filled the air.” —Kate Chopin, The Awakening (1899)
“It’s funny. Don’t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.” —J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye (1951)
“The eyes and faces all turned themselves towards me, and guiding myself by them, as by a magical thread, I stepped into the room.” —Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar (1963)

I've seen a lot of different takes on Fear Toxin/other fear causing stuff (Yellow Lanterns Ring or something)(later just called Fear Toxin cause I'm lazy) but here is another one.
Danny seems like he isn't affected by Fear Toxin because his biggest fear is that his accident changed him so much he is no longer human, he can no longer truly experience human things.
So when he gets lungful of fear Toxin, he feels normal. He was antsy before, because c'mon, it's a rogue attack but it's not worse. Or so he thought. Because the anxiety lingers. Not enough to register as abnormal just this slight hypervigilance that makes you see things about yourself and your surroundings that you'd never realize otherwise. He'd realize he doesn't blink as often. He'd realize that if he doesn't consciously focus, he sometimes seems to not touch the ground. Forgets to breathe. He can't feel his own pulse at time. He'd realize people will miss him when he's walking down the street as if he was invisible (people just don't care about everyone they pass by). When he'd look straight into his reflection, he'd look slightly to the left. Not enough to actually name anything that was wrong but just stretched enough to fall on the wrong side of the uncanny valley. If he just caught his reflection in the peripheral vision, it'd be vaguely shadowy creature with glowing green eyes and white smoke instead of hair. Overall he'd be just wrong enough to be distinctly not human.
For everyone else, he'd be just a dude. Literally couldn't find more normal dude than this dude. Will pass as absolutely normal human unless someone is specifically looking for ecto-ghost stuff. Even most magic users wouldn't clock him at the glance
Tldr: Fear Toxin makes Danny perceive himself as some sort of eldritch horror but not enough to make him believe he'd actually be affected, while from outside perspective he's Just A Dude™

REBELCAPTAIN APPRECIATION WEEK 2024 | @therebelcaptainnetwork
↳ Day 2: Media Adaptation/Missing Scene: My Lady Jane AU
Lady Jyn Erso wanted nothing at all to do with Lord Cassian Andor, the man she was set to marry. If anyone bothered to ask why, she would give them three simple reasons.
One, anything her villainous Uncle Krennic wanted was usually a dreadful idea, and the opposite of what Jyn wanted.
Two, she hadn’t met her husband-to-be, but she’d heard his reputation. Ice prince, they called him. Unflappable and unconscionable. Jyn was fire and fury, not at all a good match to someone who was rumored to be the most impersonal man in all of England.
Three, she didn’t desire the burden of marriage. Jyn Erso wasn’t built to sit around silently, obeying her husband like a dutiful housewife.
But nobody cared how she felt. Krennic wanted the Andors’ wealth, and the Andors, from what she gathered, wanted the title and prestige that came with her familial ties to the crown. The matter was decided; she would be marrying Cassian Andor, even if they had to drag her down the aisle kicking and screaming…

How do you do anatomy? And when you get artblock, what are you doing?
anatomy: make stuff up use references, observe bodies in art + media + ur everyday life, look at anatomy notes! i got taco1704's book (it's in KR and EN) but they also posted a lot of it online; simodasketch and kawaiisensei also have a lot of excellent diagrams. and sometimes i really do just make stuff up
artblock: that's harder to answer :') i got pretty burned out and couldn't draw anything good for what felt like months, even though i tried every day... if you get stuck, i think it's probably better to take a break and go consume instead of create for awhile. i played a bunch dawntrail/fields of mistria and started reading orv until the worms came back home haha. recharge ur battery and look for new inspiration...!
