Finally drew my Clone OC, Watson! I’d love to write more of him one day, but here’s a gist of who he is:
He’s the 212th’s CMO
He’s a 1st gen clone
He’s very handy with a vibroblade
He read a bunch of space Sherlock Holmes stories he could get his hungry mind on when he was a little cadet and decided he wanted the name Watson for his own
Had ARC training —despite how he was set for one of the first batches who would be head medic for a battalion— simply because he pestered Alpha-44 for it. Fordo wasn’t able to do anything but cave into CT-7562’s pointed insistence, and Alpha-17 had never been disgusted with Fordo as he was right then
Watson’s helmet is inspired by targons, which is why he has four eyes on his forehead, some pointed teeth and fangs painted under his visor, and some claw marks across his chest
Like the rest of the 212th and 501st, Umbara was the worst fucking night of his life
#i’ve only written small pieces of him as a background character in other fics#maybe i’ll write something about him later#clone medic oc#clone medic watson#clone oc#oc character#star wars oc#star wars#the clone wars#star wars the clone wars#swtcw#marsdraws#marsrb

Well looks like I finally caved in and made a welcome home AU; hope you enjoy it!
Basically the synopsis of this AU is that the Welcome Home crew lives in a suburban neighborhood and all live on the same street together ( Holmes Street ). At the end of millennium, they look back at their lives together and share memories before the clock strikes 12.
Will add more photos in another post ^^

Hudson and Rex S01E06
I missed one day but it was inevitable. We're finally at the episode with Aunt Miranda!
Aunt Miranda: I'm calling my nephew. He's a detective. The Detective in question: *groans* I better loop Sarah into this. No use suffering alone.
Miranda just told Sarah that it must be so exciting to work with Charlie. Either she thinks he's Sherlock Holmes or she's read the scripts for the rest of the show.
This episode offers a bit of backstory about Charlie as a kid and his divorce with Julia. No mention of a brother, though.
Rex: Hey, I'm working here!
The dinner scene is lovely. Although I think Miranda would have been at least a bit angry if she had found out how Charlie and Julia got divorced. Given how many times Charlie said that she cheated on him in later episodes, that was obviously written later, though. So much retcon.
Charlie: This is a police investigation. I cannot bring you [with me]. *cuts to the next scene where Charlie has actually caved and brought his aunt to the investigation*
lol Jesse playing chess with one of the retirement home residents.
Hudson and Rex: A Comedy.
That close-up as Harold eats the chocolates is too much of a giveaway. Editing is my least favorite thing about this show.
I want to say that someone from the elderly home should have sensed something in this case, but honestly who would have thought that a guy would go to an elderly home pretending that he's an old guy with Alzheimer's?
Some of this reminds me of Kommissar Rex's episode "Der Mann mit den Tausend Gesichtern" (The Man with a Thousand Faces).
Again, the editing in the arrest scene is poorly done.
An interesting parallel near the end. The killer tells the story about how he figured that the pills that the victim had withheld from his mother led to her death, and laments not being there because he might have figured out what was going on and saved her. Cut to Charlie who was there for his aunt when she asked him for help and saved her when she was in danger.
And here we have the birth of Miranda's mystery novel.
Charlie called Rex his sidekick. When he bites you...
I like this episode a lot. It has a nice mix of comedy, mystery, and family. I don't wish all episodes were like that because it would be boring but there should be episodes like that.

It was about two months ago when I finally caved and clicked on this anime that Crunchyroll had repeatedly recommended to me, something about “William James Moriarty strategizes to fix the British Empire and its systemic inequity while keeping Sherlock Holmes off his trail!” I was like, since you insist I’ll try one episode because I’m not into period dramas, the British empire, blonds with weird haircuts, or brown suits, but I do like detectives.
Now i have a tumblr blog where I scream deranged thoughts about said blond in his stupidly sexy brown suit and his beautiful hair and his brilliant mind and his two brothers and his detective because otherwise my brain won’t function.
And i know it was about two months ago because my phone has since turned into a yuumori pics storage device.
And I miss him. 😣 There’s not enough of him in the anime. Actually there is a severe lack of him in so many episodes. I really wish they’d adapted ch.31 and the Baskervilles arc..
#moriarty the patriot#yuukoku no moriarty#william james moriarty#‘keeping Sherlock Holmes off his trail!’ lmao that went well

In the middle of one of our tougher periods at work, so what better time to go to the theatre (well, a recording of the theatre, shown in the cinema. close enough)
A dozen people is NOT enough for an audience and makes one self-conscious (and I had to turn on white noise in my headphones when the couple behind me began discussing the ending during the interval! bad form!) but The Motive And The Cue is very good.
I know absolutely fuck-all about Hamlet but my uncle is trying to get me to understand Shakespeare, and he mentioned the title of this, and I saw it was showing, so I went. Also Mark Gatiss is in it. He's perfect. (Shut up, what Sherlock Holmes TV show, that didn't happen.) I've loved him since the cave guide in League Of Gentlemen, I think he's incredibly talented.
Have to say, my main takeaway was that either the play isn't very fair to Richard Burton or Richard Burton was a shit, but at the end they recap what happened to Gielgud and to Burton after the events of the play and you go "Oh, okay, that was dramatic irony. I was meant to already know he dies young. Well, fine, whatever."
(also when he does 'to be or not to be' and you're meant to think, oh, he's finally got it, I was just thinking 'this is exactly how William Shatner would have done this scene') (sorry but I cannot tell a lie)
Anyway. I do now want to see Actual Hamlet at some point. I've approached it from every other angle, I've seen Withnail And I half a dozen times, I should probably actually do the reading. We didn't get it at school, my allocation was Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Midsummer Night's Dream. I fondly remember an essay I wrote about the themes of sex and death in Romeo and Juliet, which I reported for years afterwards as "English class is a doss, you can just BULLSHIT about stuff and they give you an A, it's GREAT". That teacher is probably why I write great long meta posts on here now.

10 characters 10 fandoms
I was tagged by @salsedine ages ago (thank you! 👋🥰) and finally getting around to it!
So these are in no particular order even though they're numbered, but here we go:
1. Leonard McCoy from Star Trek: The Original Series
I love his gruff exterior coupled with how much he cares really deeply. He's passionate and full of fire, but he's also so compassionate and caring. He's a healer, but instead of embodying the "saint-like" version of that trope, he's all too human and flawed. I adore him.
2. Joan Watson and Sherlock Holmes from Elementary
Yes, I am cheating, but they are sold as a set do not separate 🤷
I just love both of them. I love the way they interact, and their partnership in every sense of the word. They're funky and unapologetic about it, and they can be sharp and vindictive, but they can also be so, so soft and caring, both to each other and to others.
3. Jaime Lannister from Game of Thrones
He's slick and snarky and talented. He's in a nasty codependent romance with his sister. He's incredibly insecure yet incredibly cocky. He's so so brave and stupid. He's in love with Brienne and shows it by giving her a sword. He's a hot mess. Just a complete disaster of a human. I love it. I want to study him in a jar.
4. Sam from Lord of the Rings
He's a cinnamon roll, does this need more explanation? 🤷
5. Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec
She never, ever gives up, and she believes so hard in making the world a better place, and she loves her friends so much, and.... She's just inspiring. She's a character who gives me energy and makes me feel like things can get better and good people can make a difference.
6. Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit
My boy 🥹 He is fierce and loyal and cunning, and he's got a temper and can somehow get away with scolding people twice his size. The bitch energy is at epic levels, and yet he's also somehow so caring. He is an icon, a legend. We can only aspire to such sass and love as is packed in this tiny man.
7. Basil from The Great Mouse Detective
He's ridiculously cute and smart. I love how he pretty much adopted Dawson as His within like 5 seconds of meeting him. He's also a secret softie, getting all testy with Olivia only to pretty much immediately cave when she starts crying. Plus he's Sherlock Holmes as a mouse. Only wins here.
8. Richard from Galavant
He's a pathetic noodle of a man who's committed horrible atrocities by his own admission, yet he still manages to make you want to give him a hug. What a disaster man. I adore him.
9. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park/World
He's got a PhD but can't figure out a seat belt. He's clearly madly in love with Ellie but takes like 30 years to admit that he'd rather have her than his career. Yet again, a complete disaster. Are you sensing a pattern?
10. Bek from Gods of Egypt
Yes, I know this movie has problems, first and foremost the whitewashing, but I can't help it 🙈 Bek in particular is just 👌 He's so determined and spunky. He says cheesy one-liners to himself while stealing from literal gods. He's blasphemous to the gods' faces. The love of his life is killed and his immediate response is to blackmail a god into bringing her back to life. He's lucky and brash. I love him.
No pressure tagging:
@the-chickenshit-oddity @lassiesspanishaccent @lenievi @figsandfandoms @51kas81 @mourningroutine @underture @lovethistoomuch
You don't have to if you don't want to, but if you do - tag! You're it!

monthly media recap: august 2024
read:
Cabal by Clive Barker - oh you know, I've yapped about it and Nightbreed a lot here. The intersection of horror and eroticism, the monstrous and the divine, the queer allegory, the monsterfucking. So good.
The Second Continuation of Perceval - I liked it better than The First Continuation which I didn't even finish, but by the end I still decided to put my Arthuriana reading on pause for the time being. These were dragging me into a reading slump which passed as soon as I stopped trying to get through them. Going back to The Second Continuation, I am tragically unable not to picture that little dog that Perceval carried around as a chihuahua
Jelgava 94 by Jānis Joņevs - part coming-of-age, part chronicle of Latvian metalhead culture, extremely funny (even funnier than I remember the movie adaptation to be).
Rīgas raganas (Witches of Riga) by Linda Nemiera - first assumed it's gonna be the kind of ~ironic~ fantasy I've kinda outgrown, then got seriously hooked (the fact that it's set in my city certainly helped), then came the anticlimactic ending. Still, mostly liked it in the end. Also, gotta say it's extremely funny how the author created a magical explanation for the very real recent phenomena of roads caving in and cars falling into the resulting pits. Was reading this like oh right, this happened next to our office
The Amateur Cracksman and The Black Mask by E. W. Hornung - been reading the Raffles & Bunny short stories through Substack and just realized it has already covered the first two collections! This reading method is not for me, but the stories themselves are charming. They're like, what if Holmes and Watson but gentlemen thieves (Hornung was Conan Doyle's brother-in-law, btw) and also partially based on Oscar Wilde and Alfred Douglas? Really a very nice read.
+ currently reading: Weaveworld by Clive Barker
watched:
Nightbreed (1990), the Cabal Cut - not the version I'd, like, recommend to a random person, because it's glued together from the theatrical release and deleted scenes (some of which don't even have sound) and what not, but it really is much closer to the novel than the theatrical cut. See the post linked above for more thoughts on the book and both cuts of the movie
Lisa Frankenstein (2024) - finally watched it, and it was as delightful as I was promised :) I thought I saw enough spoilers for it, but I somehow didn't expect that ending at all, loved it. Loved the relationship between the sisters, too.
Fear Street Part One: 1994 (2021), Fear Street Part Two: 1978 (2021), Fear Street Part Three: 1666 (2021) - me watching part 1-2: eh it's alright, not very original but interesting, and I like the kids. Me watching part 3: oh it's GOOD good! Thank you OPLA cast for luring me in

Act VIII Ending this... SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
Let's save the world \o/
(acting chipper, but I am writing this after finishing the game and haha I AM NOT OKAY)
Puzzle solving with Watson, weee! The PoV switching was fun, I loved their banter, I wish Watson had actually kicked me, poking fun at all of the tomb raiding from two British men was fun fun fun.
The cave labyrinth - so creepy. We got so much distressed Sherlock in this one, poor guy! And yeah, he died once because I insisted on exploring... as I said, we ignore the main objective in this house.
This was such a haunting moment, and we could maybe stretch it into Sherlock's disdain for the solar system...
I was so distraught in the moment, I didn't even notice the SHOULDER GRAB we've all been waiting for. Well! We love a good parallel, yes good good.
My beautiful mad boy. I had to laugh out loud when he chastised Watson for killing the man - after I watched Sherlock die three times in a row because I can't aim to save my life.
Big "For me, it's always like this" moment imo, especially after looking at the Void painting. (Will I ever stop drawing parallels between Silent Hill 2 and every other game I see? No. It's good!!)
This happened BACK TO BACK, what perfect timing! My beautiful pure perfect boy. I miss him so much. :'(
UM!!! Screaming inside.
Nothing like a gritty, bloody Holmes and a complete madman having a dialogue battle in a raging storm. I selected the wrong answers a few times just to see what happens, which brings us to... a problem:
This. This, a QTE in the year of the Lord two thousand and twenty-three, dampened SO much of my feelings and enjoyment for the final moments of this game. It wasn't fun, it didn't make me feel smart or scared for Sherlock or... anything. It took me out of the whole thing and reminded me that, yeah, I am playing a videogame. Introducing a new gaming mechanic (a widely disliked one at that) at the very end of the game is the real insanity here. I'm really disappointed by this.
The beam puzzle itself was fine and I had fun figuring out where to point the beams. Just not the crowd part.
I will not mention that other game I love to draw parallels to, but I did think of it. A bit too on the nose this time, mayhaps!
This poor man :'(
I could be posting screenshots of the dialogue all day, really - so many famous quotes, references, all the while making it very clear about a cycle that repeats itself, ha.
OOF.
Yeah, so.
We have to talk.
About being lulled into a sense of safety.
Before everything you think you know and believe about people gets flipped upside down.
Because...
WHAT THE FUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK
????????????????????
My friends, the way my jaw fucking dropped. I-- Watson-- WHAT????
This game was dark enough as it is, well - expectedly. This, however, I did not expect in the slightest (I don't think ANY of us did). This is so bloody dark?!
So, I half expected Sherlock's addiction to be mentioned in the beginning of TA - in the 2008 game he is just kinda melancholy, in Chapter One the 7% solution is presented by Vogel, so I think most of us assumed he used it at some point after Cordona to cope with all the stuff - but then it just wasn't. Instead he used Watson's syringes as pins. If this is meant to be how the addiction actually starts, then I really don't know what to think of it.
The implications are really dark.
I need another game.

The Sitter
Mycroft Holmes x Bethany Wheeler (OFC)
Story Masterlist
Chapter 21 - Aftermath
Mycroft woke up what seemed to be several hours later. He was alone with Moriarty on a screen making the ticking noises over and over again. When he looked around the room it was the cell Eurus had occupied since she was a child.
‘Bethany?’ He called out; no answer came. ‘Sherlock?’ Again, no answer. ‘Eurus!’
Mycroft spent hours listening to the ticking of Moriarty’s voice, alone and without Bethany or Sherlock or anyone coming for him. He tried yelling, shouted until he couldn’t feel his lungs anymore. His mind was dazed and he couldn’t focus, he tore at his jacket and tie, unbuttoning his waistcoat just to try and breathe easier, but it didn’t help. It was obvious what must have happened, Sherlock and John would still be tested, but Bethany still carried a secret and the safest way to ensure she didn't tell, was to eliminate her. It killed Mycroft to think that she had become disposable. She didn't deserve this.
In the end, Mycroft could do nothing except sit against the wall of Eurus’s old cell and think on the life he could have had with Bethany. He shouldn’t have been so proud or uncertain, he should have asked her more questions, held her when she needed it. He wished he could have watched films with her and let her tease him about his ties. He wanted her to win those small victories over him, because she would never hurt him with it.
Bethany Wheeler, wherever she might have been, in her last words asked him to look after an old woman who lived three doors up from her and call her parents to tell them she loved them. Her final departing words were that she loved him. In the face of death, she was still kind.
Mycroft sat on the floor with his knees pulled up and his arms folded on top, he rested his forehead against them and traced over every memory he had of Bethany. He tried hard to remember the first time he’d seen her in the flesh, inside Sherlock’s flat, she was solving a chemistry equation. He helped her with it. She smiled at him.
At the gala, all he really wanted was to introduce her as the love of his life, the most beautiful creature in existence. She wouldn’t want his thoughts to turn to how he felt he didn’t deserve her, she would want him to believe he could be a good enough person to deserve her time and her love.
Mycroft went over in his head what he could say to her parents, what was he supposed to say? That their daughter died saving three men she loved, because he made a bad call? That Bethany chose to be a good friend, that she made him weak enough to allow her into Sherrinford in the first place, that she was the absolute best human being in the entire world for just a moment and no one will ever forget what she did to save them.
Mycroft sobbed, his chest caved in, he was in agony and he was losing his mind. He just wanted to die there and there, curl up in Eurus’s cell and never be found. No one would miss him, his parents would learn to accept it, he doubted they’d mourn much.
If Sherlock was out there somewhere, Eurus was probably still torturing him, but he was always her favourite. Mycroft convinced himself that that fact would work in his favour, maybe his brother would find out the truth about Redbeard and eventually save their sister. But for Mycroft, he was accepting of his fate, this seemed merciful in some ways, but fair, nonetheless. He always knew he’d die alone.
Mycroft’s eyes had closed for just a moment, but when he opened them again, it was to the sight of paramedics helping him up and Lestrade himself asking if he was alright.
‘Fine.’ Mycroft shook his head, letting the medical team do what they needed to do.
Lestrade bent down so he was eye level with Mycroft. ‘Look, a lot has happened here, I don’t even know the half of it-‘
‘Bethany?’ Mycroft suddenly asked.
‘Beth?’ Lestrade frowned. ‘She’s fine, Mycroft. She’s still in a bit of shock, she was left out on the balcony tied to a chair, but she’s being taken care of.’
‘Can I see her?’ Mycroft tried to get up, but his legs wouldn’t work properly.
‘Woah, woah, okay,’ Lestrade stopped him. ‘Just take it easy, you can see her once you’ve both been checked out… something I should know about?’
Mycroft just glared at the now grinning Lestrade.
‘I’ll let her know you’re alright, just take it easy for a while, yeah?’ Lestrade told him, standing up to speak to one of his officers before heading off somewhere else.
Mycroft couldn’t help but let a few tears go. Bethany was fine, she was alive and being looked after and she was okay. He did as he was told by the paramedics, anything to make sure he was well enough to take care of Bethany when she needed him.
He was eventually put in a helicopter and taken to the mainland, something about being looked at in a hospital. Mycroft was resistant at first, but he saw the familiar dark, frizzy hair of Bethany and began to comply with the intention of going to see her straight afterwards.
‘Right.’ Lestrade came into the private room he was being treated in. ‘You ready to go?’ He asked as Mycroft put his suit jacket back on.
‘Go?’
‘Yeah, I’m driving you home tonight.’ Lestrade frowned. ‘They said you were cleared and I expect you’ve got quite a lot of clean up to do.’
Mycroft nodded. ‘Indeed, but I will need to see Miss Wheeler.’
‘She’s asleep, Mycroft. They’re still trying to bring her temperature back up.’
‘I know.’ Mycroft nodded. ‘They told me.’
‘Then why do you want to see her?’
Mycroft didn’t answer, he could see Lestrade trying to supress a smile, but he was in no mood. He knew which room Bethany was in and nothing was going to stop him seeing her.
His heart lurched on sight. She was in a room with monitors around her keeping an eye on every aspect of her vitals, nothing was going to slip past anyone’s notice if she did start declining. Mycroft stepped into the room and slowly sat down beside her. He took a moment to look at her breathing slowly but deeply which he felt was a good sign. He reached out so that his fingertips touched the back of her cold hand.
Mycroft cried for a moment, he held his hand over his face and let the tears run down his cheeks. He didn’t bother composing himself when he heard Lestrade entering the room, he knew the inspector wouldn’t think any less of him.
‘Look, you shouldn’t stay here all night,’ he said, gently. ‘But obviously I can’t stop you doing whatever the hell you want, so just call me the second you need to be picked up. Beth wouldn’t want you exhausting yourself when there’s work to be done.’
Mycroft knew he was right. He ran his hand over his face and sat back in his chair, taking a few calming breaths, mostly to stop himself crying anymore.
‘I need to call her parents.’ He said.
‘I can do that if you-‘
‘No,’ Mycroft shook his head. ‘She asked me to do it… what do I say? How do I explain all of this to them?’
Lestrade exhaled harshly. ‘There’s no right way to do it, you just have to do it. You did your best, you’re still doing your best for their daughter and they’ll appreciate that. They’ll be angry at first, there’s no getting around that, but afterwards… Beth got her kindness from somewhere, it’ll be alright.’
Mycroft found something soothing in the rambling. He felt like he might have been right, he just needed to get it over and done with. Mycroft stood up and took his phone out.
‘I heard they were in Bolivia.’ Lestrade said.
‘Yes.’ Mycroft dialled Kathleen Colbeck.
‘I imagine it’s an expensive call.’
‘It’s not a problem, I assure you.’ Mycroft rolled his eyes.
Bethany’s mother answered with the same bored and annoyed tone that she had done the last time and Mycroft felt same shame he always felt when he thought he was letting their daughter down. He explained as much as he could, going over the details of her condition first and then, upon them asking, he told them about how brave she had been, how smart and focused, he told them she was the very best human being in the entire world for just a moment.
Mycroft commandeered a private jet for them to fly to London for the first time in six years to see their daughter, hoping she would be awake to see them. He promised he would look after her properly until they arrived, he wasn’t going to let her down again.
He stayed sitting beside Bethany all night, making the relevant calls and contacting the people who needed his side of the story, organising a clean up and ensuring the Sherrinford was taken over by someone more capable than the Governor.
Bethany eventually woke up when her parents arrived and Mycroft had only left once to go home, shower and get a change of clothes. He slept in the chair next to her bed side on and off, but his own parents were coming to see him and he wasn’t looking forward to it in the slightest.
‘Mycroft.’ She said, turning slightly to see him. He stood up to make it easier for her to see him. ‘Thank you.’ Her parents had left the room for a moment, while they spoke. It struck him how like them she really was and so her stubborn bravery and quick thinking shouldn’t have come as such a surprise to him.
‘What for?’ He frowned.
‘For calling my parents.’ She smiled, it was groggy and small, but it still radiated beauty.
‘Of course, you asked me to.’ He said and held her hand when she reached for him. ‘I have to go and deal with my own parents now.’ That made her chuckle a little, he felt his courage faltering, but he was determined to be a better man for her. Mycroft pulled the chair closer and held her soft, cool hand in both of his, close to his chest. ‘I still owe you a film.’
‘Yes, you do.’ Her dark eyes flashed at him.
‘And I didn’t realise you play the cello and the saxophone as well as the piano.’ He was glad that even in her weakened state, he could make her smile and breathe laughter. ‘Will you play for me?’
‘Yes.’ She breathed. ‘Will you have dinner with me?’
‘Of course.’ Mycroft nodded. He took one last look at her pretty features, her dark eyes, her freckles, her smooth jawline and smiled. He leaned up to place a soft kiss to her forehead and nodded. ‘I shall return.’
Mycroft stood up and went to leave the room. He turned to see her father talking to Lestrade intensely and Kathleen waiting outside her room.
‘Dr Colbeck.’ Mycroft nodded politely.
‘Mycroft.’ She sighed. Her hair was much longer than Bethany’s, it had the same frizzy and wild nature, but she had it tied back. ‘Time to have a grown up conversation.’
‘Why do I get the feeling I won’t enjoy this?’ Mycroft asked in his usual sardonic tone.
‘Come on now, Beth is not as subtle as she thinks she is. I know it was you she was texting when she came to Peru.’ The information took Mycroft by surprise. ‘A genius she might be, but she needs to learn to not leave her unlocked for anyone to see.’ Kathleen smiled, weakly. Something of her smile was evident in Bethany. ‘Now, I can’t deny, I would rather she found some nice lad who protests against destroying the rainforests, that would have made Richard and I very happy. She could have had a life like ours, travelled the world and seen what’s out there with someone by her side… but she’s chosen you.’ Kathleen did seem somewhat disappointed and Mycroft frowned, feeling something of the same disappointment in himself. ‘Do not make a fool of our daughter, Mycroft, it won’t be us you’ll have to answer to. I’m sure her wild ways are not lost on you?’
‘Certainly not.’ Mycroft agreed, deciding not to mention the private joke they shared about Bethany being an anarchist. ‘I’ve certainly played witness to her pricklier side once or twice.
‘Prickly is a kind word. She’ll give you trouble, alright.’ Kathleen showed herself as rather proud of that fact. ‘She’ll be a pain at the best of times, but she is… well, she is everything the world could do with right now. Kind, honest, observant, empathetic and most importantly of all, loving.’ Mycroft felt his heart inflate slightly. ‘If she’s decided you’re worth all that, then you’d better acting like it. I’ll repeat it so it’s clear: do not make a fool of our daughter, Mycroft Holmes.’
It suddenly clicked with Mycroft what she was talking about, but it only served to make him feel ashamed again. Perhaps Bethany should have been with someone else, someone better than him.
‘I won’t.’ Mycroft promised and left the hospital, thinking hard on what had happened over the past few days. He drew no conclusion and there was another woman who’s wrath he now feared.
‘Alive! For all these years!’ His mother said, outraged. ‘How is that even possible?’
Mycroft took a breath. ‘What Uncle Rudi began, I thought it best to continue.’ He stuttered slightly, but when faced with his mother, what man wouldn’t?
‘I’m not asking how you did it, idiot boy! I’m asking how could you!’ She exclaimed.
‘I was trying to be kind.’ It was the only word he could think of.
‘Kind?’ His mother scoffed. ‘Kind? You told us our daughter was dead!’
‘Better that, than tell you what she had become. I’m sorry.’
His father then stood up to tower over his son. ‘Whatever she became, whatever she is now, Mycroft, she remains our daughter.’ He said firmly.
‘And my sister.’
‘Then you should have done better.’ His mother cut in, gravely.
‘He did his best.’ Sherlock interrupted.
‘Then he’s very limited.’
‘Where is she?’ His father asked.
‘Back in Sherrinford, secure this time.’ Mycroft made sure they knew that. ‘People have died. Without doubt, she will kill again if she has the opportunity. There’s no possibility that she’ll ever be able to leave.’
‘When can we see her?’
‘There’s no point.’ Mycroft tried to explain.
‘How dare you say that!’ His mother exclaimed again, still horrified at his behaviour.
‘She won’t talk.’ He tried again. ‘She won’t communicate with anyone in anyway. She’s passed beyond our view. There are no words that can reach her now.’
His mother then turned to Sherlock. ‘Sherlock? Well? You were always the grown up, what do we do now?’
‘Beth.’ He said, catching Mycroft’s attention.
‘What?’ Mycroft stood up.
‘She knew that the girl on the plane was actually Eurus,’ he explained. ‘That was the secret she made her keep.’
‘Yes,’ Mycroft remembered. ‘She said it was to do with pitch and tone.’
‘Like music?’ His mother asked, confused.
‘Exactly.’ Sherlock smiled and Mycroft soon caught on to what he meant. ‘Beth worked out just from sound alone how it was all going to play out, that’s why she stopped trying to help get the girl and that’s why she didn’t stop you from trying to take a bullet for her.’
‘She was the only one listening.’ Mycroft nodded.
‘Sherlock, what’s going on?’ His father asked.
‘Now that you’ve confessed your love for her,’ Sherlock said boldly. ‘Any chance she might want to play the cello again?’
Mycroft swallowed.
‘Confessed love?’ His mother was in equal parts excited, but also still furious and upset. It was an odd expression.
‘Yes, didn’t he tell you?’ Sherlock pretended to play innocent. ‘I had to hold a gun to Beth’s head before he’d say it, but we got there in the end. Beth plays the piano, cello and saxophone, you know?’
‘Oh, I knew about the piano, not the others.’ His mother said, excitedly to Sherlock.
‘I think, Eurus will respond to music better than words and Beth’s a brave woman, she won’t back down from another visit to Sherrinford.’
‘I don’t want her going there.’ Mycroft put his foot down, he wouldn’t allow Bethany to be used in that way. ‘She’s been through enough.’
‘Yes, she has.’ Sherlock agreed. ‘I doubt it’ll stop her going through more though.’ Mycroft sighed with frustration, holding the bridge of his nose
‘So, you finally told her then?’ His father looked a little more pleased and knowingly at his son. ‘Good on you, a good woman’s hard to find, but when you do find them, don’t you dare let go.’
Mycroft just rolled his eyes and sat back down to find some work to do, he had no intention of talking to his parents about Bethany, not until he’d had the chance to process everything. Sherlock ushered them out and promised he’d take care of them for the rest of the day.
‘You should get some sleep.’ He said as he was about to leave Mycroft’s office. ‘Lestrade said you stayed with her all night?’
‘You can leave now.’ Mycroft smiled, disingenuously.
‘Suit yourself, I’ll get the truth from Beth anyway. Laters.’ Sherlock called as he left.
Mycroft was finally left alone and felt the exhaustion catch up to him. It had been a long few days.
It was an even longer couple of weeks. He’d visited Bethany in hospital a few times, her parents stayed for another week, before she ushered them back to Bolivia, promising she would see them for Christmas anyway. She had made a full recovery and was back studying, writing papers and going on placement with various labs.
What happened at Sherrinford made it’s way around several circles that Mycroft had wished it hadn’t, he was regarded in equal parts a hero and someone who was going soft for a woman. The second part he didn’t mind so much, especially when they all realised which woman, the sight of her alone, turning up at his office on occasion, was enough to have people’s heads spinning. They couldn’t quite understand how someone like her could be with someone like him and he honestly couldn’t explain it, but she was back to smiling at him and that was all he cared about.
‘Mycroft, how can I help you this fine day?’ She answered the phone in a much cheerier tone than he anticipated she would.
‘You sound happy.’ He said a little miserably, he was about to head into a meeting.
‘And you don’t, so what’s got your knickers in a twist?’ She was obviously at home, studying in her bedroom, because he could hear faint music playing, though he couldn’t identify who it was.
‘I still owe you.’ He said, quietly.
‘What do you mean?’
‘I asked you to dinner, it was a Sunday so…’ Mycroft was losing his nerve, it had been a while since that had happened, somehow with Bethany he felt less and less ashamed, but courage was still something that escaped him. ‘I just thought with tomorrow being Thursday… you said they were good days for you as well and… well, you know what I’m trying to say.’
‘I do indeed.’ He could hear a great big smile appearing on her face. ‘So, are you going to ask me?’
Mycroft took a deep breath, they did this regularly over the past few weeks, he would stumble around something, she would encourage him to just say what he felt and she would make him feel valued because of it.
‘Would you like to come over for dinner tomorrow night?’ Mycroft asked, feeling his neck get a little warm.
‘I’d love to, Mycroft.’ Bethany smiled and it made him smile. ‘But only if you promise we can watch a film again, it’s been ages since you promised me another projector night and quite frankly, I’ll no longer accept waiting around.’
‘I suppose I’d best do something about it then, lest I face your wrath.’ Mycroft loved the way she teased his softer side.
‘A wise choice.’ She chuckled. ‘What are you up to just now?’
‘I’m heading into a meeting with Lady Smallwood and a few others.’ He sighed. ‘I haven’t spoken to her since before Sherrinford.’
‘Ooh, yeah, well, I’m afraid you’ll have to battle this demon on your own, I’ve got a dissertation to work on.’
‘I’d rather we swapped places.’ Mycroft confessed.
‘Believe me, you don’t.’ She laughed. ‘Look, just keep it professional, don’t rise to anything and focus on the meeting, if you struggle just start thinking about what film we’re going to watch tomorrow.’
‘Is that how you handle hostile environments?’
‘I try to avoid hostility where I can.’
‘You’re lying.’ Mycroft frowned.
‘And you are starting to get a little too good at noticing that.’ She teased another laugh from him. ‘Right, go do top secret government stuff, some of us have real work to do.’
‘Fine. I’ll see you tomorrow.’
‘See you tomorrow Mycroft.’ She laughed and hung up the phone.
Mycroft looked down to see the photograph he used for her contact, it was the one of her camping in Peru, looking beautiful in the descending sunlight. It always seemed to calm him somehow and give him enough strength to get through his next task.

:DDDDD i do not believe i kno ur favorite gaming/sonic tracks!! Is it Ok if I ask for u to spare a few in these trying times?? ;;w;; (I'm listening to loud sonic music with my lil speaker LOL)
Yes!! Absolutely!! :D I have quite a few. I'm going to start off with some of the newer stuff that you might not be familiar with.
Sonic Mania's soundtrack (YouTube / Spotify ) is stellar all around.
Standout tracks:
Lights, Camera, Action! (Studiopolis Zone Act 1)
Hi-Spec Robo Go! (Hard Boiled Heavy Boss)
Rogues Gallery (Mirage Saloon Zone Act 2)
--
The vocal tracks from the newest game, Sonic Frontiers, were spot on for me. They perfectly encapsulate the vibe of the Sonic series for me. However, if you have any intention of playing Sonic Frontiers, I would hold off on listening to these until then.
I’m Here (feat. Merry Kirk-Holmes)
Undefeatable (feat. Kellin Quinn)
Break Through It All (feat. Kellin Quinn)
Find Your Flame (feat. Kellin Quinn & Tyler Smyth)
--
Sonic Generations (YouTube / Spotify) was Sonic's 20th anniversary game. Pretty good if you want to listen to some new takes on older tracks! There's also a 3DS version (YouTube / Spotify), which features entirely different levels than the console version. I enjoy the remixes they did for both games.
Personal favorites:
City Escape (Classic) - Sonic Generations
City Escape (Modern) - Sonic Generations
Collection Room (Door Into Summer) - Sonic Generations
Emerald Coast (Act 1) - Sonic Generations 3DS
Boss: Big Arm - Sonic Generations 3DS
Boss: Biolizard - Sonic Generations 3DS
--
Lots of great stuff in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)'s OST (YouTube):
His World (Theme of Sonic)
His World (Zebrahead Version)
White Acropolis (Snowy Peak)
Crisis City
Aquatic Base (Level 1)
Aquatic Base (Level 2)
Flame Core (Volcano)
--
I think you already know that I'm a big fan of the Sonic Adventure/Sonic Adventure 2 soundtracks. Both are easily my all-time favorite video game soundtracks. I'll list some of my favorites, anyway, though.
Sonic Adventure:
Azure Blue World (Emerald Coast)
Pleasure Castle (Twinkle Park)
At Dawn (Speed Highway)
The Dreamy Stage (Casinopolis)
Be Cool, Be Wild and Be Groovy (Icecap)
Leading Lights (Lost World)
Bad Taste Aquarium (Hot Shelter)
Crank the Heat Up!! (Final Egg)
Big Fishes at Emerald Coast - Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2:
Keys the Ruin (Pyramid Cave)
Soarin' Over the Space (Cosmic Wall)
Bright Sound (Dry Lagoon)
Masters of the Desert
Won't Stop, Just Go! (Green Forest)
That's the Way I Like It (Metal Harbor)
--
Miscellaneous tracks I enjoy:
High and Broken - Sonic and the Secret Rings
Catch Me If You Can - Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Un-gravitify - Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Door Into Summer - Knuckles' Chaotix
No Way Through - Sonic and the Secret Rings
Wrapped in Black - Sonic Rush
Iron Jungle - Shadow the Hedgehog
Lost Impact - Shadow the Hedgehog
--
Lastly, here are some non-Sonic game OSTs that I enjoy!
Blinx: The Time Sweeper
The Sims
The Sims 2
NiGHTS Into Dreams
Jet Set Radio
Jet Set Radio: Future
--
I have plenty of more songs that I could recommend, but this has already gotten really long, so I will leave it off at that. :] I hope you enjoy listening to some of these!

5 Tips You Need To Solve A Murder Mystery!
Its September! The nights are getting colder and they are approaching us sooner. Before you know it the creepiest month of the year is here: November. And so you find yourself on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate at nine o’clock in the evening. Perhaps you are endlessly scrolling through Netflix to find the perfect film or show that fits the vibe of the month of November. However, there are other things you can do like: solving (murder) mysteries!
Alright, I understand that this might not be everybody’s thing but please hear me out. If you enjoy detective shows and you like to be challenged than this might be something for you. I’ve formulated if few tips that can guide you. And no, I don’t expect you to be like Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes when you finished reading this post, but it can certainly help you.
Tip Number 1: Take your time!
The book contains almost three hundred pages. This can be a lot for beginners, so it might be more digestible for readers to only read one or two chapters each time you pick up the book. This gives your brain more time to soak up every bit of information Christie gives, so I advise you to give yourself a break.
Tip number 2: Take notes some notes
A lot of information is given in the book about the ten different characters like such as their ages and their job occupations.
It is quite easy to forget important details of all ten characters let alone remembering everything the said and have done. That is why I recommend you to pick up your pen and start taking notes like:
• The name, appearance, job occupation, details of their past and their eventual death
• Your personal opinion about the character. What are their behaviour? Are they suspicious? And why is that so?
• Write a timeline of all the events that take place. This will be quite useful for your brain to organise all the information.
With the first tip I said that it is alright to take a break after you have read a few chapters. When you decide to continue reading the book, and with the mystery, your notes will help inform you of all the relevant information. You can use multiple colours of pen, annotations, highlights and anything else that is useful to you.
Tip number 3: Be careful with red herrings!
Red herrings are a plot device an author can use. Red herrings in mystery stories are used so that the readers will be focused on a particular person. Thanks to the red herring, the actual culprit will be under the readers radar. Therefore, it is my advise to remain open to all possibilities. The culprit can be anyone, and maybe there is more than one culprit? Only give your answer after you reached the end of the book and after you went through all your notes.
Tip number 4: Search for the answer online if you could not solve the mystery
And that is fine! I for sure did not solve the mystery myself. After a considerable time I caved in and read the final chapter where the true culprit revealed themselves. Not all mystery books will reveal the answer, so it is only understandable that readers will go to the internet to find the answer. The answer is not as important as the road that leads it to the solution.
Tip 5 (optional): Revise the story
You might want to return to the book now that you have the answer to the mystery. With this you can follow the culprit throughout the story. Not everybody has the time or patience to do this but it will be incredibly satisfying if you do.
And with this I hope I helped you to become a detective yourself. So what are waiting for? Pick up that book because there is a mystery that needs to be solved!

Doctor Who 21.17 The Caves of Androzani Part One
This one is considerate the best story of Doctor Who, and ho boy it's good !! it also it's one of the best filmed one that I have seen yet, there is more camera work in this one then in any other story that I have seen yet !! well of course they have to bring out their best, It's the return of Robert Holmes written for the show again !! Holmes is like Moffat is for the current show, their are the writes that contribute the best that the show have to offer.
I remember when the Chibnall began and everyone was hoping that something like Androzani would have happen, which it was ridiculous !!! Chibnall is no Robert Holmes to begin it, and also it's not like the whole run of Peter Davison was a crap filled nightmare !! no there are good and bad stories like any other run !! which is much to say about the Chibnall run !!
But thinking that if Moffat coming to the show during the Chibnall run and written the proclaim Androzani of that run and that being the only good story there, it would be really Funny !!! after all that buzz of he finally getting off, it would be really Funny !!!
