Day 6: Soulmates

Small world as people would say,  Today was the day I first met you  In a few years ago.  You were 11 and I was 10,  I disliked you once you came in  To join us, thinking that you had motives  But when that day I saw you cry,  I never felt any more bad for you.  Starting that day I vowed to myself,  To never let you cry again.  Yet again as those years passed,  We met our daughter who is from the future  But at that time she was dying and she did lost her life,  I broke my promise. On not letting you cry ever again.  When we buried her along with Crime Sorciere, We let out cries, cries of grief.  And you told me in tears,  “Gray, are we bad parents?” I was struck by the question, not knowing what to answer.  I gave you a comforting embrace,  Silencing ourselves as we cry together.  When The Guild disbanded,  We found each other once again  And talked about our own feelings,  At that moment, we felt the love for each other And made love with just both of us in your house.  I remember back when I was about to start the mission,  You told me, “Gray, I’m pregnant.” I shockingly teared up and hugged you softly,  It made me so happy but worried at the same time.  But anyway, We went through it together.  And our first child, Anaisse was born.  It’s the happiest day of our lives.  And That I will never ever forget.

Hello! And Welcome to Grayza Week 2019!!

These are the official prompts this year! There were a lot of great suggestions, but since we have the grayza zine being produced, it made sense to have prompts that could constitute any alternate universe (AU) that might want to be incorporated! Although, still feel free to use the canon universe if you would like to!

Day 1 (August 18): Swapped This is a wide range of possibility! From outfits, magic, names, gender, etc!

Day 2 (August 19): Crush/Promises How long has it been going on? Is it one-sided?/ Were the promises made before kept or broken? Did they remember the promise? All this and more is possible!

Day 3 (August 20): Band What instruments would Gray and Erza play? What if they were famous? Are they in a band together or is someone merely a huge fan of the other? Exciting!

Day 4 (August 21): Strawberry Cake This one needs no introduction, as we all know how much Erza loves her cake! The only thing to ponder is how can Gray get involved.

Day 5 (August 22): Heartbeat Or as some manga would refer to as, “doki doki”. Something that makes the heart race. Maybe it’s not even love. Maybe it could be out of fear or adrenaline, etc. Aything that changes the pace of the heartbeat.

Day 6 (August 23): Stress Test Sounds like there’s something to prove here. Wonder what it could be?

Day 7 (August 24): Fantasy Alternate Universe Talking like, Dungeons and Dragons or Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones style. Not the typical focus on magic we have in canon! But that’s not to say it doesn’t exist!

Day 8 (August 25): Bonus Day Feel free to create to your heart’s content! Anything you got the idea for but couldn’t fulfill within the week is great to publish on this day!

Grayza Week 2018 - Day 4: Crossover

I don’t believe for a second that Gray would’ve let Erza cry alone during the ToH arc-- whether she knows it or not

A while back I was flattered to have been asked by @always-needing-to-be-saved to draw for the Grayza fanzine but was regrettebly unable to due to work, life among other things. so this goes out to you too <3

Rare-Pair Week-Day 8: Grayza

Not sure if they count as a rare pair, but I really wanted to honour this beautiful ship.

And here's a snippet from Moving On with a sweet Grayza moment:

"Do you mean it?" He frowned.

"Mean what?" Erza gave him an intense look. His answer could change everything.

"You said you love me." Gray grinned.

"And I meant it. It's not what I expected, but I can't help it anymore." His eyes gave his emotions away and, sure enough, there was love there. It was so clear.

He loved her. For some reason, that brought warmth to her own broken heart.

"You need to figure out how you feel before it's too late." She wouldn't make the same mistake. Even if she didn't love him yet, she knew that shutting him down would only prevent her from finding happiness.

"I hope you find someone who'll love you as much as I did, Erza." Jellal had moved on. There was no chance for them anymore, so there was no use in continuing to dwell on it.

"Okay." Gray stared at her in confusion.

"Okay?" She smiled while lifting her hands to hold his face.

"I accept your challenge." Seeing his frown, she clarified. "Make me fall in love with you."

"You can bet I will." He smirked, closing the distance between them and crashing his lips onto hers.

Grayza Week Day 2: Cooking Adentures

Gray looked out at the rainy sky, trying to think of the perfect way to celebrate his and Erza’s fifth anniversary.

Their first anniversary they didn’t really celebrate, since they were out on a mission that lasted longer than either of them expected. Their second year he took her golfing, which she excelled at. Their third year, they had been invited to a ball (much to Gray’s disappointment. He had hated dancing, especially after his battle with Cancer all those years ago. He was still thankful no one else saw or ever found out about that.)

Last year, they had a sword duel. Erza won, of course, but Gray liked to believe he put up a good fight.

He was struggling to figure out a good way to top all of that. He was just about to give up on coming up with something when he saw the bakery out of the corner of his eye.

He quickly started up, accidentally knocking over the chair he was sitting in and waking Erza. She had an angry look on her face that, before they were married, would have made him run for the trees. But now, he knew the perfect thing to do to help her.

“Sorry,” he whispered, placing one of his cool hands on her shoulder. “I didn’t mean to wake you this early. You can go back to sleep.”

Gray could never understand why his cooling touch helped her relax, but somehow, it did, and he enjoyed it. It was much better than seeing that scowl on her face.

While she was still sleeping, Gray decided to go shopping. With the two of them constantly being on missions, they didn’t keep much food around in the house. Besides, Mira always provided food in the guild hall, so there was no point in having food around. At least, not until now.

It took him about two hours to find all of the supplies he needed. He also made a different stop on the way home, just in case his original plan didn’t work.

Luckily for him, the fairy queen still was not awake when he returned. He quietly put everything away, and then tiptoed to his room. He kneeled by the edge of the bed and watched her breathing for a few moments before leaning in and kissing her softly on the lips.

“Good morning, sunshine,” he whispered. “Time to get up.”

Erza slowly blinked her eyes open and looked around for a few minutes.

“No presents?” she inquired. Good, she did remember. He was a little worried she might have forgotten.

“No, there are presents. They’re just not in here,” he said. “Come on. I’ll lead you to them.”

Erza followed her husband out of the room and back into the kitchen, and her eyes widened as she saw all of the food that they had.

“W-What’s all this?” she asked.

“I wanted to try something fun for once, so I decided to have a cooking competition,” Gray explained.

“A competition, huh?” she asked. “What is the reward?”

“The reward,” Gray began, “is that the winner gets to do whatever they want with the other for the entire rest of the day.”

“Doesn’t sounds like much of a reward, but I won’t complain. Especially since I will totally win,” she said with a smug look on her face.

“Okay then. With that, let the cooking competition begin,” Gray exclaimed. He pulled out the first ingredients - chicken broth, cut carrots, peas, and chicken - and set them on the counter. They both took a decent amount of all of the ingredients and poured it into their pots, cooking it for about ten minutes before setting it to the side.

This cycle continued as they made bread, their choice of a meat entree, and some mashed potatoes.

Once all of the food was made, they dished it up onto plates and into bowls, only making it for the other to try their food, so that they weren’t being biased.

They are their food mostly in peace, trying all of the different foods, figuring out which ones were good, and which ones weren’t.

“You’re not bad,” Erza said as she took another bite of the chicken breast. “The meat is a bit undercooked, though. And the potatoes could have used a little more.” She didn’t finish her sentence, instead choosing to place a glob of it on Gray’s cheek.

“Well, I could say the same about your soup,” Gray said, splashing a spoonful on her chest. She hissed a little as the burning liquid traveled down her shirt, but she kept somewhat calm.

“I think you need to have a taste of your own medicine,” Erza said, dumping the soup over his head. Gray instinctively cooled the liquid so that it didn’t hurt as much, but he was far from being cool in the fight. He grabbed a handful of the mashed potatoes on his plate, walked up to Erza, and made sure to tangle it all in her hair.

Soon enough, they were throwing every food nearby at each other, not caring about the mess they were making, and caring even less about the competition.

By the end, Gray was drenched with all sorts of liquids. His clothes would probably be stained, too, if he was wearing any. His stripping habit had kicked in almost as soon as the fight started, and he had been in just his black boxers the entire time.

Erza, on the other hand, had food smeared everywhere. In her hair, on her face. Even on her pants (though Gray wasn’t entirely sure how that happened, considering most of his attacks were aimed higher.)

“Well, now that the food is everywhere except in our bellies, what do we do?” Erza asked.

“I say that you won that one,” Gray said. “So you can choose to do whatever you want, but not until after we have dessert.”

He opened the fridge and pulled out the slice of strawberry cake he had bought on his way home. He knew how much Erza loved it, and he knew she couldn’t say no to it.

“Gray, you really shouldn’t have,” Erza said.

“I know,” he said. “But I wanted to. Happy anniversary, Erza.”

“Happy anniversary,” she repeated, as she took the first bite of the second-most delicious thing in the world.

Wendy for the previous Gray + Dragon Slayer ask! (please and thank you)

of course!! apologies for this taking longer than the other two.

wendy is nowhere near as innocent as she seems. when she's with most people, she experiences a social pressure that tells her to stay quiet and polite and agreeable, but with gray? one of the people who actively encourages her to be herself? she's fucking feral.

you expect her to be one of the good ones that gray doesn't really need to worry about being a brat, but when she's in her element, she's up there with natsu and gajeel.

she's rambunctious and excitable and she has even less impulse control than sting.

it gets to the point sometimes where gray needs to actively hold her back whenever their team enters a room that they know is meant to be rigged with traps because she will go and look at the blinking light.

she's never actively malicious when she's like this, she's just having fun exploring and being a hatchling.

and when she gets excited, she'll wiggle about like a kitten and her eyes will go all big and goopy and she'll mrwls like a cat as she plays, and it's adorable.

we stan feral!wendy. -

that being said, wendy is the most cat-like out of the dragon slayers. she loves cuddling, obviously, but the times she's most likely to cuddle up with gray is when he needs it, himself.

if he's been injured and has to stay in the infirmary overnight? if he's suffering with nightmares? she'll go and curl up with him as a little teddy bear and purr them both to sleep.

and she's a very good teddy bear, too, she's a very clingy sleeper.

and, yes, she does the cat start-up noise whenever she's woken up or surprised. that's just a given, my dudes. -

so one of @jinx13gxa2 's headcanons is that the shoulder blades on a dragon slayer is THE most sensitive parts of their body, because that's where their wings would meet their bodies. so, that area is especially sensitive.

because of this, dragons tend to get cagey when that area is hurt (because it hurts like nobody's business) but getting pets there makes them melt into happy little blobs of purring dragon.

so when the dragon slayers get hurt in that area, gray is one of the only people they'll allow to get near because he is always safe and he always has the power to make it better.

because of this, wendy helped gray essentially become a medical professional, himself. so that if and when they get into situations where gray is the only one who can touch them, they can still be helped.

gray's very good at tending to them, he fosters kittens as a secondary source of income (because he loves cats), so he's very used to little wiggly creatures who need to be held still for their own good. at least the dragon slayers understand the concept of "hold still for a moment".

after this, gray and wendy make a brilliant medical team. since they can almost communicate telepathically, they're really, really good as an emergency medical team. (side note - i have a headcanon similar to this about natsu, so if anyone wants to hear about that you're welcome to remind me later.) -

since wendy is the sky dragon slayer and manipulates wind, she has a really good sense of balance, so unlike rogue, she took to ice skating really easily, and now its her favourite winter activity.

every year, there will be a guild-bonding winter activity camp sort of thing in which fairy tail, crime sorciere, lamia scale, blue pegasus, sabertooth, quatro cerberus and mermaid heel all have fun together for a week. and every year gray, wendy and chelia will put on a little performance and.... gah they're precious.

sometimes it's chelia and wendy performing as the sky sisters, whilst gray manipulates the ice to make their performances really cool to look at.

sometimes they do things as a trio, but they have so much fun planning it out in the weeks leading up to it. (you also cannot tell me that gray doesn't also have a massive soft spot for wendy's girlfriend - lyon actively complains that gray already has a wendy, and he doesn't need a second one, but does gray care? not at all! he's gonna let these kids be kids if it's the last thing he does.) -

going back to wendy's feral nature a bit, wendy was also one of the members of fairy tail, most actively supportive of gray finally shaking juvia off.

throughout that whole debacle, wendy would offer to poison juvia for him, whenever she pushed him too far.

or she'd step up to distract juvia if gray needed some space.

gray would always caution her to stop, because this was his problem, but wendy always insisted on helping. gray helps with her and the other dragon slayers' problems, so why shouldn't they do the same for him?

and it's for this reason that wendy was the wing-bearer at grayza's wedding :3
