Hey there! Can I request Gray and Erza headcanons? I love their ship smm

I used to ship them so hard so let's do this :)

The time Gray stood up to Erza and put her sword to his heart is a legend in the guild. It's the first thing people bring up when talking about Gray

Gray blushes around her all the time. Literally for the dumbest things like Erza can't even look at him without him turning bright red (it gets better with time but not by much)

Everyone was positive they were gonna end up together when they were kids. Macao and Wakaba had been planning their wedding since the day the kids met

Erza pulls Gray in for kisses by his necklace

Gray is the only person that Erza can fully relax around. You can literally see the tension leave her when Gray walks up

Neither made the first move. They both just toed that weird line in-between friends and more than friends for so long that their friends had to sit them down and literally spell it out for them

Erza had to initiate most stuff in the beginning. Gray still had that fear of her wrath at the start that made him hesitate

Everyone thinks that Erza is the more dominant one in the relationship, but she prefers Gray taking the lead (it takes him awhile to figure that out tho)

You'd think since they are dating that Gray would no longer be scared of Erza, but that is the exact opposite. He fears her wrath even more now (she has new ways to punish him now)

Not that Erza really freaks out on him too much anymore. It's mostly for show at this point.

everytime i rewatch this episode, i get different feels and headcanons. this time round, i’d like to think that gray IS erza’s armour. okay, i used this in one of my old one shots.

but it all makes sense if we compare this episode to the Oracion Seis arc. gray managed to make a crack to the armour around erza’s heart. then in Oracion Seis arc, he became her armour, protecting her and fighting for her.

then… everything slowly disappears.

Summary: When she was younger, Erza had a lot of issues with her hands. It wasn’t her fault she’d spent her formative years locked in a tower. She may have been able to handle a sword like a master, but she couldn’t write a letter to save her life. While recovering after a mission gone wrong, Gray offers to tell Lucy of the time he taught Erza how to write—and other things a kid ought to do.

B: A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind. Hmmm... I've talked before about how @it-is-sooz-again and @orangepanic got me into JetLee and Irosami (respectively), but as for something a bit more recent, I'd have to say Isamilo. Honestly, I wasn't even thinking about them, and then I just happened to stumble across winterpetals's Through Whispers and the next thing I knew I was obsessed.

Q: A ship you’ve abandoned and why. I don't know that I've ever really abandoned a ship, per se. I've had ships where canon completely messed them over, but I still liked the ships themselves... I suppose I did ship Grayza for a hot second when I first watched Fairy Tail. But then Juvia and Jellal showed up and I started shipping Gruvia and Jerza, instead. I still think the ship is cute, but I'm not particularly invested in it.

Z: What’s a ship that you want to ship publicly, but everyone on tumblr hates it so you keep your mouth shut about it? I usually don't let tumblr dictate what I ship, but I suppose I'd probably talk a lot more about BruMira if I didn't know just how much backlash I'd get for it. (Let's be honest, they're so romantically-coded it's insane. But woe betide anyone who dares actually mention that!) Agree each and every word. So much potential, simply just lost. Always wanted to discover what that "fateful encounter" meant. Still a GrayZa shipper in late 2023.

Fairy Tail is a really weird manga for me. I’ve never really been super into it even as a teenager. But for some reason it creeps back into my mind once in awhile. Well, specifically Gray and Erza because their relationship was the only thing I really liked in this hell-scape story. Legit, sometimes I actually feel like writing and drawing stuff for the pairing. But like, I cant do that because I can no longer invest my time into creative work that involves writing and drawing. Also it’s pretty puzzling to me that I’d keep coming back to this garbo series for these two characters lmao.

It’s like, do I really want to waste my time for a manga I’ve never really liked all that much to begin with? For a pairing that was doomed from the start because Mashima is a creator who doesnt care enough to put EFFORT into his writing?

Honestly it’s a damn shame, Gray and Erza have that whole “fated connection” thing going on which is the type of shit I eat up like a bumble bee to pollen lmao.

Like legit Erza just happens to walk into Fairy Tail right after Cana tells Gray that today will be his lucky day? That’s some good shit right there folks. Too bad it never goes anywhere, in a better storyteller’s hands they could have ended up being a really interesting couple.

But yeah anyways I wanted to make this post as like. A final letter to this series so I can completely let it go. I might come back one day with a drawing or a story or something for these two. But lm at a point in my life where I have to let go of things that dont serve my future. And unfortunately, that includes series I have watched and am currently watching. Theyre distractions at this point and I’m never gonna get anywhere unless I completely release myself from them. It sucks but hey, it wont be like this forever!

And to all you Gray/Erza fans still alive in 2019: you’re the real mvps in this nightmare of a fanbase and I respect you. Keep on creating what you love and dont let anyone try to talk down to you. Creative work is difficult whether or not you’re making your own story or making fanart. That shit takes alot of time and effort and it can feel incredibly unrewarding sometimes, especially if you’re making something for a unpopular pairing. So like, again, I really respect you guys! Keep up the good work!

redesigns of lucy, gray and erza from fairy tail! i've got a lot of headcanons for them (mostly lucy) that i'll post at some point.

lucy's got a pretty tan and lots of freckles from the Incident™ (dumbass fell asleep in a sunny field during summer and got sunburned really badly, and this is actually something that happened to a person i know lmao)

nothing much really changed about gray, well except piercings and his eyes being lighter. i really like him with blue eyes, and i think he'd like accessories, based on how he dresses in the series. he's just pretty c'mon

i really love erza's redesign. i've been making a pinterest board with ideas for fairy tail characters' redesigns, and i thought: "okay, erza but with a beauty of south asian women (was mostly thinking indian women)". and there she is!! i think i like her nose about her the most! long noses with a bump <33

the scar looks a bit weird, since i haven't thought it through, just added it on a whim. it's a scar from the tower of heaven, when she was taken for punishment after her and her friends tried to escape. i imagine it was from a magical explosion. i'll adjust it and the eye in future drawings.

i've also been inspired by some tumblr fanart of course, fairy tail art here is just incredible. primarily erza's redesign, since i've seen a lot of fanart of her with brown skin <3

anyway, this is my first time posting my art here so i'm pretty nervous. i'm not sure if i won't delete it sometime after for a peace of mind (thank you anxiety). let's hope not!
