Gravity Falls faerie AU where there are multiple fae realms.

Ford accidentally steps into a mushroom ring when exploring, and meets Bill. Bill uses him to create an invention that allows fae folk into the human realm freely - he manipulates Ford into thinking that he only wants the invention so that they can be in love together.

Ford calls Fiddleford to help him create it, but after a while Fiddleford gets a glimpse of the fae realm and is driven mad. He seeks out a mushroom ring and begs the fae folk to wipe his memory of their realm. They agree, but trick him into letting them wipe all of his memories.

After Fiddleford is driven mad, Ford realizes the true nature of Bill. He calls Stan to help him, but when doing so Stan pushes him into a mushroom ring, and Ford is transported to the fae realm - but he's transported to a different court than Bill. The faerie court keep him alive for one reason only - they believe he can be used as leverage against Bill.

Meanwhile Stan does research using Ford's journals, but with one journal missing, he doesn't have all of the information he needs to bargain with the fae folk - and he knows that until he gets it, he can't do anything to help Ford.

In the finale, instead of using unicorn hair to protect the cabin, they use ground iron dust.

I have Thoughts about this, but it is 1am and I must sleep.. I will post more thoughts later probably and also maybe art

Also possibly Stan making a deal to get Fidd's memories back because it's less complicated or something.. idk. Maybe fiddlestan. I need to sleep on this..

Stanley as like the fae kid that was supposed to be swapped with Ford but their mom saw Stanley and was like, "My kid now" and fought tooth and nail to keep BOTH of them.

The twins growing up excluded and estranged from the rest of the community but Ford gets treated better by school staff because he's the "brainiac" of the two.

Ford may be book smart, but Stan is NATURE SMART. He sees the little tingles of magic in the air, can smell the earth and it's inhabitants, can will nature to do one thing or another for him- he always has flowers to give to his mother, hand-grown by him somewhere in secret that even his twin brother doesn't know about. He's always got that calling that tells him that he should walk barefoot in the dirt, call to the birds in birdsong (he thinks to himself that it isn't possible, but instinct tells him otherwise), speak to the plants and trees tenderly, gently. Because they hear him, and they know him.

He's loved (as loved as he can be, at least), but he is lost. He doesn't feel like he should be there, that he should even stay there. He ignores this, but that feeling persists even after he's thrown out of the house. It persists when he's in the city, when he's on the run all the time from everyone. The only time the hurt is soothed is when one time, he lays down on the dirt ground underneath a tree because he has no money to pay for a hotel room, and it's the safest he's ever felt.

So imagine he gets called to Gravity Falls by his brother and- oh. Oh.

The trees, the critters, the creatures. They welcome him, they speak to him, they approach him- not in that angry way people do sometimes, but also not in the way people will sometimes look at him with a certain level of dazed relaxation brought about by his fae nature. No, they look at him like he was one of them- like he's home.

And something inside of him sings because this is right, this feels right. He's home, like he'd never been before.

Took a little break to indulge in my ancestral fandom! With the resurgence of Gravity Falls thanks to The Book of Bill, I've been inspired by the many new AU Bills to throw my hat and make my own- I'm cringe and I'm free

This is House Fae Bill! I made a truly massive text loredump for myself that I'm not going to add here for post length reasons, but let's just say I thought way too long and hard about this xD

TL;DR basic concept is- House Fae are a type of spirit-like fae that come from the woods and dwell in constructed homes! They start out formless, but develop a unique avatar with elements and iconography pulled from their chosen abode- and in Bill's case, it was the windows (that's right- in my AU, the windows happened first! xD). When a house fae possesses a home, it becomes their territory as well as their physical body. The influence of the fae is limited to the building itself and a very small margin around it (think the Unicorn Barrier from the show), but within the home itself, the fae can manipulate objects and architecture to achieve their goals. They also don't show themselves to the homeowners if they can help it, so Ford went a bit nuts for a while wondering who was organizing his nerd clutter all the time lmao

House fae are commonly mistaken for more well-known home-related fairies such as nisse/tomtu and brownies. In reality, house fae are a separate species in direct competition with these urban fairies. House fae, nisse, and brownies all have overlapping functions in the household, but house fae are extremely territorial and protective of their charges (homeowners and their families), and won't tolerate the presence of competing fairies who could pose a threat, unless absolutely necessary. House fae that lack sufficient influence may be forced to endure a reluctant roommate situation until they gain enough power to assert any kind of dominance.

The Centaurs are Certainly Ones to be Admired

They know enough about Stan to offer what he's comfortable with sharing, as well as some information about some forest folk who are just as amicable to help the couple in their endeavor to win back their freedom.

Fidds, eyes wide with wonder: What is life like as a Centaur? How much do ya know about the forest and its inhabitants? How much do ya know about our situation? How much... um... how much do ya know about...?

Centaur: *Chuckles* So many questions, so much wonder. But I can recognize the sadness beneath it all.

Fidds: It's only brief. It'll pass.

Centaur: Things like this never pass. If you ignore the pain, it only gets worse.

Fidds: Did ya tell that t' Stanley? If ya did I doubt he listened.

Centaur: You feel... resentment?

Fidds: Not towards Stanley, never towards my sweetheart. More of... myself, I suppose.

Centaur: *Nods* Such frustrations can break a man's will. Should you let it fester.

Fidds: Yeah? Well, I s'pose needin' t' treat Stanley like a beast every time we want t' go into town don't really help.

Centaur: Hmm, perhaps you should speak with the Fae. They're sweet, yet also dangerous in their own way. They could be valuable members to your cause. Could help your mate-

Fidds: What's it like, staying in the forest?

Centaur, acknowledging Fidds' discomfort: It's peaceful, when man isn't wandering through. Life is calm and there are very few skirmishes.

Fidds: *Chuckles* Maybe Stanley and I should move the pack there. Be accepted and respected. Maybe then Stanley would...

Centaur: You cannot fix him, not alone. There is nothing to fix, truly. He's doing his best to make you happy, your family happy. I'm quite proud of his progress since the week before last.

Fidds, suddenly alert: What happened then?

Centaur: That is... not my information to give. My apologies.

Fidds: *Nods* Well, then. I think I've learned all I need t' fer now.

Centaur: Please, do not try and force the information. He will tell you when he's ready. Respect his feelings as his mate.

Fidds, after taking the advice in: You are quite wise. It's admirable.

Centaur: When your life's purpose is to assist those in need, you learn a thing or two. *Watches Fidds Leave* And I truly hope you can learn those things as well. With patience, my friend.

Years later, Basil is working alongside Anton, as his little lab assistant helping with whatever strange and bizarre experiments he comes up with.

🛸 Alien Abduction AU: Dew and his best friend (and crush), Hayden, are walking alone one night and find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time as they are beamed up into a curious alien’s spaceship. Anton (the alien) is fascinated by humanity and wants to learn as much as he can about his new test subjects in the only way he knows how: unethical experimentation! Hayden had always loved aliens, space, and the supernatural, and is adamant on somehow befriending the alien. Dew is scared out of his mind and wants nothing but to escape and go home to Earth, but can’t stand the idea of abandoning his best friend in the vast, infinite abyss of space.

🦇 Vampire Dew AU: When Dew was turned into a vampire, he had no choice but to run away from his old life. He couldn’t bear to let his friends see him this way, now that he’s bloodthirsty and wanted for murder. He wanders among an empty forest, a safe place to hide. But he has no idea of the scientist lurking in the shadows, who had been looking for a new test subject for a long time, and who has so many plans for the vampire who walked right into his trap.

🧵 Borrower!Dew AU: Dew lived in a tiny dollhouse in a local craft store owned by his best friend and the only human who knew he was a borrower. That was until one day when Anton wanted to buy something nice for Basil, and chose a cute little house that was the perfect size for his mouse to hang out in. Dew woke up in the night being brought to Anton’s cabin, realizing that someone had bought the small house he had been sleeping in. Dew escapes the first chance he gets without being seen, but avoiding a mad scientist and his mouse friend in a cabin in the middle of the woods is far more challenging that Dew had thought. (also Anton definitely catches him and gets super excited about his new lab rat. a tiny little mouse boy Dewey…)

🌀 Vampire!Anton AU: An AU where Anton enthralls Dew. But he also enthralls Aspen! And me! And you! Might just write something for all four of those scenarios, I have no idea yet, but I desperately need a possessive gentle vampire Anton to hypnotize someone and suck their blood soooo bad. It would heal me. Putting it here to force me to write something eventually.

🍄 Fae AU: Anton’s a lonely faerie with a fascination with the human world when he one day finds a lone, hurt human in his woods named Dew. He feels bad for the human and cares for it, tending to its wounds, feeding it and treating it like you would an injured animal. It’s also quite cute, and Anton has never seen anything like it before. He decides to keep it, it will be safe with him, after all.

🥼 Role Reversal AU: A role reversal AU created by @vidawhump where Dew is a scientist alongside his friends and their goal is to make all sorts of cool body modifications possible and safe. But he needs a test subject, so he kidnaps Anton from his reclusive home in the woods and secretly experiments on him. Anton is extremely defiant and sassy, wanting to escape and get home to his animal friends, Basil and Sasha, however he can.

Crossover AUs:

🌲 TLLR x UARAD crossover: A TLLR x UARAD crossover AU where Anton “rescues” Ruaridh after they were abandoned in the woods, and brought them to his lab to be a new test subject. Ruaridh and Dew become roommates, and they also become friends because they both are so incredibly lonely. Ru is also an unhinged creature who doesn’t have much of a memory. Hijinks ensue. (Ruaridh and Uilebheist A Rinn An Duine belong to @inkwell-and-dagger)

🦉 The Owl House AU: Anton is a witch in the boiling isles and finds a lost human named Dew who stumbled in through his portal. He decides to keep him and help train him to be a witch.

⚠️ Gravity Falls AU: Anton meets a weird triangle demon in his dreams and agrees to make a strange portal to other dimensions for it! nothing will go wrong.

HERE THEY ARE! here's what everyone would be in my own take on monster falls!! you can agree or disagree, it's just me having fun with it :]

my general lore for the au itself would be that the town of gravity falls is cursed, and if you stay there long enough, you get turned into a monster. most people have some reason not to leave before it's too late and the curse becomes permanent, other just give up and let it happen

monsters under the cut!

dipper: deertaur (unchanged from popular fan choice)

mabel: unicorn (unchanged from sorta-popular fan choice)

stan: gargoyle (unchanged from popular fan choice)

ford: mothman (chosen for being a cryptid, ford has mentioned moths multiple times, mothman being a "shadowy figure", stan being able to pass himself off as ford when you see them both in the dark

soos: fairy (chosen for the irony- he has canonically killed a fairy! and also that he calls everyone "dude" when fae usually take names, fae are usually tricksters but he winds up being very helpful around the shack)

wendy: ghost (chosen because she's related to archibald corduroy, the northwest mansion ghost, also that she's "non-commital" to her job and constantly vanishes from it, also ALSO that her first big episode was themed around ghosts!)

gideon: haunted doll/puppet (chosen because he has creepy doll vibes, and puppets are often associated with performance- think puppet shows, pinocchio, ventriloquist dummy- haunted dolls and living puppets also have a common theme of something childish getting a mean streak.) (also, bud would be a fox in this au as a reference to honest john)

pacifica: dragon (chosen for the northwests' miserly behavior, hoarding of treasure, and pacifica's fiery tongue)

mcgucket: robot (chosen for mcgucket's affinity for robotics, and also for the idea that once he starts using the memory gun, he starts corrupting/mass erasing his own technology and has to repair himself using junkyard scraps)

robbie: cherub (he dyes his wings black to seem like some sort of dark angel. chosen for his last name, his hoodie, and his parents' chipper demeanor. they're a family of morticians who choose to spread the love by burying couples next to each other)

"billy-bob cipher": a vessel bill specifically crafted to hunt the monsters in gravity falls. he went with the idea of a greasy redneck hunter, because that would be the form people would be least willing to argue with about carrying a bunch of guns and traps around.

My dude (gender neutral) I would love to learn more about your gravity falls shifter au!! I'm not that deep in the fandom, but shifter style aus are a jam. I humbly request however much a ramble you have on the subject please!!

Hell yeah! I want to do some doodles eventually but some rambling before I go to bed: Stan isn’t Actually sure what he is. Once the twins find out Dipper and Mabel theorize, and after things with Ford get resolved he has his pet theories too, but no one actually knows for sure.

He isn’t the same species as the Shapeshifter that Ford raised, they’re relatively sure of that (unless somehow he imprinted on a human form so early it erased his original form?). He could be a fae changeling, a baby slipped into the cradle that copied Ford, but wouldn’t their parents have noticed that? And why wouldn’t he have copied the fingers too? Not to mention that Stan misses some key fae attributes - he has no aversion to iron for instance.

It’s especially strange that he has this ability and not Ford, as they are twins. If it was an ability that was always in him, why did it take so long to manifest? And why did it manifest in such a gentle way, rather than being spurred on by adrenaline as many comic books seem to indicate a superpower would present itself?

To be honest, Stan doesn’t really care. His acceptance of his brother already made him disinclined to think less of someone for being ‘different’ (his self esteem issue stem from plenty of places but NOT his shifting abilities). The ability serves him well, and that’s all he really cares about. Dipper and Ford try to insist that he should feel some kind of a desire to ‘find his kind’, but I mean… he’s got his family, his found family beyond that, what more could he need?

Alright guys, if you have any requests for my vampire Fiddleford and werewolf Stan AU (which you can find here, it's called Eldritch Falls) then chuck it in the comments and/or ask box and/or reblogs!

A few details about the AU under the cut:

Stan got turned as a kid when him and Ford first found the Stan O War (yes I am writing this)

Fiddleford got turned a short while before going to college and meeting Ford

Fiddleford had a sort of one sided attraction to Ford in college and while working on the portal (yep, writing this one too!)

There's a multiversal gay bar in Gravity Falls where Ford and Fiddleford met Eda, because fuck the timeline (I should probably write their past when they first all met)

Some toxic Billford maybe?

Stan and Fiddleford met after the portal incident

Fiddleford keeps Stan from doing too much harm on full moons and helps out with trying to work out where Ford is

Bill works by fae rules so he can't break his deals but he can exploit any loophole

Perirep/Doomwinkle fankid au thingies (Both siblings use she/he/they btw) After the twins are born, Peri would be adamant on not letting the Realm of the Fae(Aka Fairy World) know of his kids. His existence causing him to be famous was bad enough, his children are the first Fae/Dark Fae hybrids in recorded history Bc Peri is adamant about them not having the life he had, he opted to disguise them whenever they had to go out The twins are either disguised as normal fae or normal dark fae

Irep isn't too keen on it, partly thinking that Peri is being too paranoid, what if they like the attention?! What if Peri is making a big deal over nothing? But there's also the discrimination that he faced and he also worries about it

Apollo doesn't care too much abt the disguises and sometimes uses that to her advantage(Hiding in plain sight and pulling pranks kind of deal) While Artemis.. Hates it. He doesn't want to pretend to be something she's not. She's a HYBRID, not one or the other

Apollo is extroverted and, obviously, chaotic, think of a mix of Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls and Louise Belcher from Bob's Burgers. And she.. SOMEHOW.. Gets a godkid later on. No one knows how he got them and some think they full on stole them like the olden days(Apollo in fact didn't and is actually really good at being a godparent)

Artemis is introverted and a lot more laid back. He's a bit like Dipper Pines too and she doesn't get a godkid, finds the job to be overwhelming and too unpredictable

They both get along w/ both parents but not all the time Artemis especially didn't get along with Peri when it came to the disguises and went to Irep for comfort

I return from a much-needed vacation away from home and JESUS CHRISTMAS a lot of people like House Fae Bill! I'm so glad people like my stained glass little gremlin version of the Big Triangle himself ;u;

Since people showed interest, and I'm still in a Gravity Falls mood, I'll pose a question! Do you want more illustrated House Fae Bill content? I can post the lore document like some people have asked, but tbh I kinda wanna draw some of it! And I know that personally if I just share all the text lore at once, my brain will check it off as Task Completed and I'll lose my gusto to make more for it xD

Don't expect full-shaded full-color productions tho, they'll probably be cleaned sketches like those above, maybe lined with color if I feel like it. I have a few potential ideas, so if you're curious, here's a poll of the things I'm considering drawing!

I recently found one of the old sub-AUs called King of the Fae AU, and may have obsessed a little over the design.

This was my first go at it, I forgot to add his wings his wings are under his robes. I realized too late that he probably doesn’t have golden antlers, but I like them too much to change it.

I don’t draw bug wings often (ever) so they’re definitely not anatomically correct, especially the top and bottom wings being so far apart (he’s got to have buttwings somehow right?)

Lepus and Jupiter are also a part of it now, but now they’re just some forest critters that Alcor took a particular liking to.

I of course had to find a way to make Judgement Day compatible with KotFAU, so Jan is now an explorer/ex healer searching for remedies in the Gravity Falls forest.
