The Grand Cafe in Oxford

A day in Edinburgh today. We spent most of the day in The Grand Cafe, getting very drunk. Fabulous food, I forgot to take photos of that, was too busy eating it!

We really stacked up the glasses! They were very kind and made me a Brandy Alexander, even though it wasn't on the menu. It's my favourite cocktail, but its rarely on any menus these days.

A small in-game like drabble undercut!

You are on Cliff street. Several civic buildings are built here, including the town hall. The Ocean Breeze cafe looks out over the sea. A sign on the window reads: "Help Wanted." There's a path leading down to the beach. There's a lot of traffic. People are driving to work.

A lean woman is locked in the town pillory, she will be released in 23 hours.

You take a seat and order a cream bun, advertised on the menu as using "locally sourced milk." It soon arrives.

It's big, and bursting with cream. It's a struggle to eat without cream squeezing onto the plate at odd angles.

You don't succeed, but you don't mind. It's tasty, and leaves you feeling warm and contented.

Time's are wasting, you stand to leave but a lean waiter slips you a plate of pastries and a tall glass of parfait. You wonder if there was mistake, you don't remember ordering this. There's a note attached to it.

The small letter is written in a pink sticky note. You recognize the handwriting despite how messy it is, you assume it's written in a haste. It reads:

"Hey милый!

I couldn't find the best way to hand this over to you in between tasks Sam hands me, so i had one of my coworkers to fetch it for me. You do not dislike sweet foods do you? If you are, i don't mind if you leave it.

You looked really tired so i decided to whip a parfait for you, hope it's to your liking!

Brush your teeth once you get home, and don't let the sugay treats destroy your teeth... Take care of yourself, kay? Remember to reward yourself with some rests once in a while.

Sincerely yours, Yumei ❤️"

You unconsciously smile as you fold the note, tucking it into your clothes. You dig in to the pastries, you feel your mouth melting from the sweetness | - - - Stress

You hold the tall glass of Parfait into your hands, it's cold to the touch. Your heart feels light as you devour the Parfait, each bite is savory and addicting. You don't notice that you have finished the dessert in one go. You feel the urge to water the sweetness down. | - - - Fatigue

You spot Yumei taking a customers order before she notices you as well. The two of you lock gaze until you blow her a kiss of appreciation. She catches it and rests her hand over her heart. | + Love

This was Draco’s favorite time of the day. When classes were over and dinner was eaten, leaving the dorms empty while his friends hung out around the castle.

Except for you. You and him would always come to his dorm and just lay around doing nothing.

And it was perfect.

Because the only thing he had to focus on was you.

You had a routine that carried a certain domesticity about it. You walking into the room, not even bothering to knock because you knew he would always let you in. Walking straight to his dresser and pulling out a shirt, walking to the bathroom to change and come out wearing his shirt rather than the stiff button up and tie.

“It's way comfier than anything I own” you would say to defend yourself when he gave you a look.

He’d be lucky if he saw it ever again. Not that he minds, of course.

Then you climb into bed next to him, getting comfortable but giving him space. Space that Draco had to fight not to close.

He watches as you move his pillows to be the perfect shape before you lay your head down and look at him.

He lays down along with you, smiling at you. Letting out a sigh as he finally relaxes for the first time that day.

That's when you reach your hand out and brush some hair away from his forehead, “Rough day?”

Draco nods slowly, leaning into your hand, opening his mouth but not letting the words come out.

“You can let go when your around me, you know. You don't have to hold to all these fears, all these ghosts, by yourself,”

And so he didn't hold back. He talked and talked about everything that was happening in his life, the good, the bad. And you just played there and listened, stroking his arm and holding his hand until he fell asleep. Following him shortly after.

When he did finally wake up, hours later when the sun is slowly starting to peak out through the windows, he looks at your head resting on his chest and smiles, pushing your away away from your face.

You stir slightly and flutter your eyes open to look up at him, a smile on your face.

“You're my best friend,” he whispers so softly you almost miss it.

But he knows you didn't when you smile at him, “I would hope so,”

This causes Draco to just chuckle and bring you closer to him, kissing your temple, “I mean it! There's no one I would rather spend my time with. These quiet moments by ourselves are the best memories I have.”

You smile, not sure how to respond but knowing you felt the exact same way. So instead, you look between his lips and his eyes, asking a question you've been dying to ask since you were kids.

And Draco just smiles in return, holding your face and bringing you closer to him till your noses brushed. And with one last look in each others eyes, you both leaned forward, connecting your lips in a kiss that was long overdue.

And when you finally pull apart, soft smiles and blushes mirroring each others, you know, you are in love.

Stone connecting with Robotnik and being the one person he’s soft with, while he remains awful to everyone else except the difference is it’s a lot smaller scale now. There’s no attempts to end or conquer the world, although on bad days he might threaten it— but he’s just a grumpy petty bitch who’s inconveniencing people at best and possibly ending some corpo goon lives at worst, but all in all, he’s kind of just a weird guy now — not a galactic evil mastermind.

And Stone’s happier than ever. Not because the doctor’s stopped trying to think bigger than life, but because he’s more content, while keeping the eccentric, mildly diabolical charm that he’s always been helplessly endeared to. Even if it means apologizing to customer service workers twice as often when they go out.
