every time i see someone call kirk and spock the oldest ship, i'm filled with the urge to go "hmm actually the holmes and watson girlies have been here for a hundred years now", and i refrain because i know the natural conclusion of this game is gilgamesh and enkidu

After listening to the story of Enuma Elish this scene gets even more iconic and ironic because in the story Marduk, Ea's son, kills Tiamat and cuts her in half and from her two halves he made the sky with stars, planets and etc. and the land and from her eyes he made rivers.

And in fate Gilgamesh's sword Ea is also known as a sword that split heaven and earth and it's also ironic that Gil named the sword after the god that killed Tiamat's husband Abzu.

Also I've learned that horns on his turban/crown is the sign of divinity, so it's not just some fancy accessory but it's actually has a purpose behind it and I love that such detail was added to Gilgamesh's design.
