As a child, Sherlock thinks that his big brother controls their neighbourhood. It’s a wild exaggeration, but he’s not completely wrong. Mycroft’s ability to deduce and manipulate people has allowed him to create a network of people who do his bidding and keep an eye on his little brother when he can’t do it himself.
When Mycroft starts using the government’s resources to monitor his brother, it actually doesn’t feel like much of a change to Sherlock.

Veilguard Daemons AU
Tarquin and Saxum (european badger)
Thick-skinned and assertive, badgers are not the kind to back down from a confrontation. They feel safe around the familiar, and can have difficulty making change. Badgers are fiercely protective, and have even been observed defending weaker animals that live in their burrows from predators. They are devoted creatures, typically mating for life.

Onepaw
She/her, 9 moons, cis molly
#Onepaw#clangen#warrior cats oc#kiri’s clangen#warrior#apprentice#bayclan#kiri's clangen#The tallest teenage girl in the whole wide world#Her spots will NOT be drawn consistently and I will very likely simplify them one of these days. These ones were just simplified directly-#-from my reference image so that’s what I’ve got right now#Anyways she’s a savannah cat!!#She’s a ‘former kittypet’ who joined at 7 moons old so I thought I’d make her something funky!#Psa this breed of cats is like. NOT cool to keep because they’re Literally not actual domestic cats until you breed enough generations back#-with housecats to remove 90% of the serval traits and as such they are Literally Wild Animals and are not suited to indoor human dependent#-life.#Like savannah cats irl are just not okay to keep as pets because That’s A Serval. It’s a straight up serval but like smaller#Anyways. Figured it needed to be mentioned because there’s a LOT of cat breeds that are just unethical to breed and uphold as a recognized-#-breed and many of them I’ll probably draw just because I think they make for fun character designs in a Fanatsy world like this#And YES warriors is a Fanatsy world they have fucking proven-to-be-real afterlives and organized religious governments#So I’ll add unethical cat breeds!! But don't take that to mean I support the breeding of these breeds#Anyways. She’s taller than most adult warriors in her clan at 9 moons old. Isn’t that crazy#It’s like that one shitty Netflix movie

revisiting/redrawing of this comic!
now that I'm halfway through blocking out the individual chapters of bad governance, there are: character arcs! themes! conversation that fit in the greater context of a story instead of a handful of loose ideas that rattle around in my head!
the original conversation got chopped up and split across several different scenes (sulla felix is the one who calls pompeyo a wild dog that dreams of being a king now!), so now I'm playing around with this specific one: the start of cassio's politician arc
I'm also kicking around the idea of renaming brutus to liberato. we'll see if it sticks!
I've also been fucking around with photo/collage type backgrounds on my other blog (I like the aesthetic, but I probably won't do it as much for the actual comic itself), the difference is for bad governance, I can just use my own lmao

Headcanon that Leon was a bit of a teen delinquent who peaked in high school, kept that high going up through his 21st birthday where he had a big The Hangover-esque celebration before he moved to raccoon city and his life has been in shambles ever since

Local politics is so important and you may think "it only impacts people in my city/county/whatever" but it can have much wider impacts
Like a concrete example of this is that in Pennsylvania, local laws in Philly, Pittsburgh, and Allegheny required that companies give paid sick leave to all employees — part time and seasonal, not just full time employees. And now, some companies (including the one I work for) decided that it was easier to make one policy for the whole state of PA that followed all the local laws, instead of changing the policy based on city/county.
So what that means concretely is that now, bc these local laws got passed requiring employees get paid sick leave, everyone else in the state also got paid sick leave even though they didn't live in one of the three places that passed those laws. (well, at least everyone working for the companies with state-wide policies)
Paid sick leave is not a small thing. Being able to call out sick from work and still get paid is huge, especially if you're someone living paycheck to paycheck.
And it only took 3 local laws getting passed to make a change impacting the entire state.

God, and all the Trumpists who are like “Yeah! Get his ass!! Take THAT, Ukraine!”
They’ll lecture you about how naive you are. This isn’t just how the world works, it’s how it should work. Grow up, the weak have to cower before the strong, might makes right.
Trump is sustaining his tough guy machismo by flagrantly pushing around American allies, bureaucrats, and the powerless, people dependent on government aid and so on. Much harder to sustain that kind of posture against the strong. Fine. It’s hard to watch but we can’t call it shocking, we know him and his character.
But his supporters, the cruel and cynical glee, the euphoria, the bubbling giggles coming from Christians who can’t get enough

What is a 'government'? I blindly used it in our previous interaction assuming it was a bad thing but I am unsure
Some of the old ghosts would talk about government from time to time but I wasn't intelligent enough to understand
Is it a surface word?
If so I would be intrigued to learn it so I can share with the other walking mushrooms because I believe learning would better out odds at living in the dungeon
-Local walkin talkin shroom
Tumblr media
It's essentially a group of high ranking people who rule over society. Like how a dungeon lord rules over a dungeon and the monsters inside, the government helps create and enforce laws to support the wellbeing of people (amongst other things).
The word originated on the surface, yes, but I don't think a government system would necessarily work out for the walking mushroom species. Especially if not all of you are sentient.
