huge shoutout to rejection sensitive dysphoria and the attorney who mentioned that I'd misspelled "forfeiture" in my notes, ensuring that I will literally never misspell that word ever again. Thanks, it's just what I needed. I would have rather been shot, but this works also.

So recently I’ve been more than a little obsessed with the 1983 Jim Henson company project called “Fraggle Rock,” about all these silly little muppet creatures having crazy adventures in the cave system in which they live, called, appropriately, Fraggle rock. After watching 3/4 of the seasons, I started doodling some of my fav cats OCs as fraggles, and it just sort of spiraled from there. Finally finished that slightly angsty Clay drawing idea I had based on Epic The Musical song “Monster”

It wasn’t everything I wanted it to be(in part cause I have VERY limited drawing skills) but I am happy with how it came out!

my writings terrible so I’ll type out what I wrote for it:

Is the Icewing struck with guilt when she kills? is she up in the middle of the night? or did she end my sister without a care or whisper and sleep knowing she has done her kingdom right?

When the false seer takes dragons to save his kingdom, is he going insane? Or did he learn to be colder when he got older, and now he forgoes the pain?

When a queen comes through the night and makes Dragons fight, is she scared that she’s doing something wrong? Or does she keep us in check so we must respect her? And now no one dares to piss her off?

Does a Dragon use all they have to kill defenseless enemies because they are Vile? or do they throw away their remorse and save/take lives with a Smile?

people will really be like “trans people are ruining our children!” no melinda i think you did that yourself when you forbade them from accepting the nuances of other life experiences and declared hatred as your most loving act. i hope your children grow up to never speak to you again. i hope your children disown you. i hope your children find light and vibrancy in their trans friends. i hope they become such strong allies. i hope they curiously look around online or read books about the trans experience and figure out how disgusting you are for guiding them to ideas of hatred. i hope they grow up understanding that your love for them is conditional upon their identity and whether it conformed to your views, not that you loved them freely, because you’re fucking weird. and if your children are trans, i hope they never feel as though they owe you a damn thing. people like you are ruining children. trans people are so good for children. to be able to see beauty and safety and expression and acceptance of identity— to be able to learn about the wide array of history and experiences and culture and love— oh that’s so fucking good for kids.

Baby is such an enigma bc you can never rlly tell whether they fell for Ivan’s bullshit or not

The last audio he had was the Halloweek one, but smth no one considered is where it was on the timeline

In it, he starts muttering “The windows have bars” when looking for Baby, but the windows only have bars AFTER the audio where Ivan took Baby on a walk, and in that audio we learn Baby had been “well-behaved” and we can suspect they fell for stockholm syndrome or such

This means that it is possible that in their final appearance with Ivan in “The Cost”, Baby has not fallen for Ivan’s antics

But that’s never confirmed because Ivan states, again, that Baby had been “well-behaved”, which can easily be another ploy on Baby’s part to lower his guard, but we’ll never know

In the end, we DON’T know if Baby ever believed Ivan

Man I just finished Babel and I was excited to read discussions online because there's so much going on in it with so many little things and just....angry white people. Everywhere. Truly a dead dove moment.

#the “you can't trust white people” theme might be a little like...aggressive but gosh you are not wrong #rf kuang #it was such a good depiction imo #it felt so much like explaining to white (or sometimes black) people what the problem is #especially felt like explaining being queer to straight people #i feel like a lot of people have at least a vague intellectual understanding of racism even if they don't see the racism #babel an arcane history #babel or the necessity of violence #also she captured a fair bit of mixed race and chinese diaspora feelings #also also i can see the relationship to the secret history and the fact that this is a rebuttal of dark academia while being dark academia #also realizing i dislike dark academia tbh #just...the ye olde university feeling is not my style #hence i went to engineering school where it had a je ne sais quois that i think is widespread neurodivergence #the good old boys clubs just do not interest me and i cannot really care about their lifestyles #it's not bad mind you it's just not for me #babel however is the exception that made me realize i dislike dark academia #hated the cloisters #got a rec for the secret history and had negative interest in that #i really want more and better depictions of engineering school and like...any similar experiences to what i had #they just do things like the social network where it's still a rich kid good old boys club but now with “nerds” who are just business majors #like the big tech guys of the modern era are primarily business guys not like...building computers in their basement #give me aome barely functional people who lean heavily into being weird once they go to school and they have hijinks like #updating archlinux and giving the other people shots if you get xyz system working again #first to get x11 back? Happy Baltimore Pride, the parade starts in 3 and a half hours and I'm already exhausted

#am i excited to be in the parade for the first time ever? yes. am i as an audhd disaster already overwhelmed? yuh.#also like. for all the team/the pres and the few sober members are trying to make it safe for us pride just isnt sober/recovery friendly #like on the grand scheme big picture culturally i mean. yes you can easily avoid alcohol during daytime hours at the streetfair etc #but ive only seen one event very clearly advertise no alcohol. the rest is very much the shots shots rail liquor sponsored by x booze etc #and thats not to say it shouldn't be im not trying to ruin the fun for everyone else thats not what this is.#its more an observation of - damn. im four months into recovery with alcohol as an autistic bipolar person. this might suck.#like this might be really hard and not be as fun as I'd hoped and I'm grieving the fact i never got the experience the pride others did #the free unhinged party that my teammates have been constantly talking about in the chat for the last week #they're already cracking open beers im sure and the grilling starts at 11am at our parade spot so that they can start drinking and save $#im used to being on the outside of the glass but its always a smidge uncomfortable. it helps having sober teammates with me #but a part of me worries about this weekend i guess.#just... not feeling great in our body. bones feel wrong. everything feels tired and heavy. poor monster doesn't want to be seen.
